Hello everyone! I have been participating in evo games for a while now and I felt this was a great place to start one!

I will say I am basing a few elements pretty heavily on a few other evo games that have existed on /qst/ hence why some of this might look familiar to some people. That being said though my intention is to not "rip-off" others but instead offer my variation on a fun game for everyone.

How to Play:
- Open an image of a species in the editor of your choice (something that can do pixel art preferably)
-Make one evolutionary change to that species
-Save as .PNG!
-Post your new species in the thread with a description of what evolution you've added and why
-Indicate what generation your creature is. (base organisms are Gen 0)
-A creatures size or name aren't necessary, but are encouraged.
-Anything incredibly silly or outlandish will not be considered a cannon species 95% of the time

Notes:
-Unless stated explicitly, no species ever goes extinct. Old species can still evolve.
-Try to make your evolution gradual and realistic by biological standards
-Every 24 hours I'll add an updated phylogeny chart to track changes. (Please be patient, these can take a while)
-Every 24-48 hours I'll be rolling for a Random World Event.
-Every 3-4 days will mark the end of an era with a mass extinction. (these scheduled events will vary slightly due to my working schedule, apologies)
-Have fun!

~~Also feel free to ask questions! I will be putting the map in the post below because this one is getting long

Oh shoot, I knew I forgot something

Pretty much every species doesn't really have a way to "see" things, they kinda aimlessly float around the ocean until they happen upon food.

Don't let that stop you from changing their colors though, but it won't really help or hinder with their hunting/hiding ability
>>
The Avax has developed a wider foot which it uses to skirt along the ocean floor making it faster allowing it to more easily catch prey. Its darker coloration comes from its broader diet.

by the way OP, if you want feedback: contentwise, you did everything right, with the possible exception of having undefined plants. But the timing's terrible, there are currently TWO big evogames going on and one's already exhausting enough for players. I don't think there's the player base for three, considering the amount of emotional involvement usually inherent in playing evogames. If this thread doesn't take off, I would recommend using the exact same creatures and map some time later when competition is lower

Alright fixed more erroneous errors in the phenology chart. The next thing I am going to introduce before my next world event is that Gen 1 creatures are now "at risk" and Gen 0 are "frozen".

At Risk (Orange): At the start of the next event all At Risk creatures will need to complete a roll. Anything that fails will go extinct immediately, anything that succeeds has until the next phenology chart (around 24 hours) to evolve before they also go extinct.

Frozen (Light Blue): Any creatures with the Frozen label will still be alive in the world but are now non evolve-able

Though, something peculiar happened; parts of the ocean and land after being tossed so angrily seemed to defiantly refuse to be thrown, sitting in the air in much the way that they ought not to.
Thus was the birth of the strange floating seas and lands of CZ-842, a strange feat of magnetism? Magic? A particularly strong wind? Noone really knows -not yet anyway-, all we can do is see how the simple creatures of this strange world survive their new surroundings"
