Welcome back to Warlord Quest! Last time our hulking protagonist spoke with the ancient Shaman Duergir, receiving a laundry list of ingredients for the Ritual of the Life Drinker. After going out on a monster hunt (and I died a lot) we managed to slay a Shrieker in one on one combat, claiming its head, its hearts blood, its fangs, claws, eyes and hide as trophies. Our wounds patched up by our faithful scout/medic/archer/assassin buddy Wren, we camped on the cliff ledge, only meters from the butchered body of a creature of the night.

You roll your stitched and bandaged shoulder experimentally, feeling only the slightest discomfort from the wounds left from the Shriekers claws. The beast lays butchered and discarded, its black blood staining the rocks like tar, all use pried from its body. You pull your mail backed leathers over your head and shrug to adjust the heavy layer of armor. Your spiked Pauldron is buckled on easily, the jagged blade gleaming in the low light as the sun rises above the horizon.

Your companions rouse themselves, Arvel rubbing his eyes from a night watch and gratefully accepting a mug of some revitalizing herbal tea from Wren as the scout master sits by the fire, poking the coals with a long, splintered rib.

Urhost sits next to you, grinning tiredly and nudging your shoulder
"Good hunt Magnus. One less o'those noisy buggers around. What d'ya got planned now?"

You dust your palms, standing and cracking your neck, grinning down at Urhost
"We already came all the way out here. Might as well go check out some tombs while were at it!"
You chuckle, pulling Urhost to his feet, the veteran rolling his eyes but grinning
"Shoulda fuckin' known. We'd best get a route set up then. Oi! Wren! Lemme see that map!"

Wren makes a rude gesture, standing slowly and pulling the map from his bag with exaggerated care, taking his time to amble around the camp before spreading it on a flat rock. He looks up at you both with a tilt to his eyebrow and chuckles
"Tombs?"

You and Urhost share a look, shaking your heads before responding
"Aye Wren. Tombs"

You form want to trek all the way to the Wolf Fang, you don't want to risk being tortured to death by the Black Hands and you really don't want to find out what traps are on an honest to goodness Hero's tomb.

>Cairn of Trulas Storm-Blade

You settle your finger on a small mountain peak not far from where you currently camp. The Cairn of Trulas Storm-Blade, Slayer of the Pale Wyrm, The Fist of the Storm, Doom of the Great Drake, etc, etc. Ancient heroes went all out with their titles and honestly it gets old.
"This one here seems good. Old enough to be dust, secluded enough to have some decent loot intact."

Urhost looks over your choice and nods.
"Might have some moonies or adventurers up there hunting treasure or some tribals making a journey up there. Shouldn't be too much trouble though."

Wren clicks his teeth behind his mask and shrugs.
"At least its not a tomb. Never liked going underground for long"

Your course plotted, you heft your weapons and strap your shield acorss your back, setting the pace for your companions as Wren leads the way.

>Sorry about that. Had to go help my sister find a wallet on the side of the road .-. It was not found.
>18+5=23. Artificial Crit!

Before heading off completely, you double back and delve into the smoldering ruin of the beasts nest. Piles of gnawed bones, rent hides and clothes, tattered mail and broken shields sit amongst the smoking piles of leaves.

Digging through the nest nets you several handfuls of coins, some necklaces, jewelry and a long serrated dagger with a hilt of some sort of black horn.

>Gained 12L of jewelry and coins
>Gained Thorn Dagger. This serrated blade causes heavy bleeding. If damage exceeds 80 on an attack, add +10 bleed damage for consequent turns.

Tucking the dagger into your belt, you walk from the cave whistling, hurrying to catch up with your companions. The walk through the mountainside goes uneventfully, not even the clouds seem to want to intrude upon your hike.

Making camp under an overhang of stone, you lean against a rock, running a Whitestone along the blade of your dagger as Falhim and Lionel debate spear techniques, Wren argues about the use of poisons with Urhost and Arvel and Balon armwrestle over who has to stand watch.

Making your way over to Urhost and Wren, they put their argument on hold for a moment, inviting you to sit with them. You take the offered seat and wave away the canteen of some foul hooch Urhost offers, gesturing towards the newly recruited Lionel and Balon.
"The new ones. The ex-moonies? Thoughts?
You raise an eyebrow expectantly, trusting your lieutenants to speak true.

Urhost shrugs, rubbing his massive hands on the back of his head
"Honestly? Seem like capable lads. Lionel, the blonde one? He's good wit' a spear. Haven't seen'im with a bow but hes got the build of a archer. He's respectful and sharp as a thorn. Could do worse. Balon, the big fella? Ugly as a damn troll but gettin' a WildFolk warhammer to the kisser'll do that. He seems like a good fighter, id bet my asshairs on it. Strong as a ox but not nearly as clever."

Wren taps his fingers together before speaking
"Urhost is mostly right but he forgets lancers are trained as horse archers and light cavalry first and foremost. On the ground theyre little better than militia. But Lionel seems capable, he kept that Shrieker away handily. Balon on the other hand, his experience seems to be mostly charging headfirst at his problem or sitting behind a big ass wall and dropping rocks on their heads. Not a strategy we have much use for"

"Yet"
You say with a grin and your lieutenants smirk, nudging each other
"Aye, yet"
"Yet. Good point"

"This Cairn we're going to, Trulas Storm-Blade? What can we expect to run into there?"
You ask, leaning your elbows on your knees.

Urhost rubs his chin, giving Wren a questioning look and a shrug
"Well... T'be honest it could be lots of things. Most Cairns, they're just big open walls and a rounded roof around a central burial ground. We could run into some. Moonies adventuring, treasure hunting or whatever the bloody he'll they do when they come up here. Could run into some men from other tribes making a trip up there to pay their respects or tomb raid themselves."

Wren leans in, intersecting with a blunt
"Or could be something... Unpleasant. Ogres tend to hang around Cairns as they're ready made shelters. Could be a pack of trolls or even a Wyrm after something shiny."

>Possible encounters- Adventurers, Silver Church Apostles, Tribals, Ogres, Trolls, Wyrms.

Wren shrugs as he continues, ticking off his fingers.
"Could also be some traps. Spikes, Blades, Rock falls, pits, Collapsing floors or roof. Could be nothing, could be suicide"

>>
>Sleep the night away.

Thanking your companions for their insight, you bid them goodnight and retire to your bedroll, using your pack as a pillow. You fall asleep to the crackle of the fire and the sound of the mountain wind whistling through the rocks.

Your dreams are murky, glimpses of long forgotten battlefields and great savage beasts lying slain and broken. Cities burn and castles shatter, villages are ground beneath the heel of endless armies while the sky teems with swarms of carrion birds.

You wake, rubbing your eyes sleepily, muttering a curse to Vall to keep his visions to himself for a bit. Munching a cold breakfast of jerky and hard bread, washing it down with a mouthful of ice cold water, you shoulder your pack, ready to move.

>2! Cave Stalker Hunting Party!

Its near midday when Wren holds up his fist, crouching down onto the trail. He whispers over his shoulder, looking back through the corner of his eye
"We've got company up ahead. Tribals. Cave Stalkers looks like."

You crouch low and shufflewalk up to Wren's position, peering over the rock. A group of near fifteen men clad in layers of cured hide, armed with weapons of bone and scavenged iron. They gather around the body of a large Cliff Jumper, butchering the massive goat with brutal efficiency. Bloody spears and broken arrows jut from the horse sized carcass, its meter long horns tipped in blood.

Arvel crouches next to you, peeking over the rock. He spits in disgust at the sight of the t ribals, narrowing his eyes.
"Cave Stalkers? C'mon Magnus, we can take the inbred fuckers! We'd be doing the sister screwing bastard a favor!"
He grins viciously, his hand already on the grip of his vicious handaxe.

Urhost crouches behind a spire of stone, sliding a thumb along the blade of his axe
"We could kill em. Could pass em by. Theyre busy and arent like to notice us"

Wren shrugs, his hand idly clenching on the hilt of one of his daggers
"We could sneak by. But those rock worshippers outnumber us and that's their favorite kind of fight. If they spot us, they'd gladly try their best to murder us all just for our weapons."

"Lets get some killing done"

You eye the Cave Stalkers, the men hacking apart the Cliff Jumper and stretching out strips of meat by a small campfire to dry. Their weapons, shoddy as they are, look sharp even if they are of bone and rusted iron. Their hide 'armor' is layered thick and so caked with grime and old blood you can smell them from here. A few of them have bows, several have spears while the rest wield axes, picks, spiked clubs and long daggers.

There is plenty of cover between your party and them and you're sure that if Wren and Torbos lay down some fire, they'll be dropping like flies before you know it.

You roar, vaulting the stone and pelting down the trail towards the unsuspecting Cave Stalkers. With shouts and howls, your companions follow close behind you. Wren pops over the edge of the petrified log he crouches behind, loosing a long, slender arrow that whizzes evilly by your ear, lodging itself in the side of a Cave Stalkers head, the pile shaped head jutting out of his skull as he collapses limply, his bow falling from his fingers.
"Wha'da fuck?"
One of them grunts, turning to his fallen companion and kicking his corpse experimentally. He topples forward as Torbos looses a heavy, broad bladed arrow that punches through the center of his back, spearing his heart and dropping him without a sound.

The toughest opponents, the hardest fortifications, the most bitterly defended chokepoint. These have always called to you. You charge into the thickest knot of Cave Stalkers as the dung eating barbarians finally grasp the fact that THEY are on the wrong end of an ambush for once. Arrows hiss over your head as Wren and Torbos pin down the enemy archers, the remaining pair ducking behind the Cliff Jumper for cover as their companions attempt to form up into a meagre defense.

You nearly laugh.

You barrel into the clump of stinking savages with the impact of an avalanche, simply bowling men over or sending them flying. Your companions leap into the gap you shattered into the Cave Stalkers makeshift defensive line. Arvel laughs in insane glee as he hacks a Cave Stalkers arm off at the elbow, pummeling the wounded man, using his own severed limb as a club. Urhost slams the butt of his axe into a Cave Stalkers teeth, knocking the man flat while the veteran raider lays about with with his axe, the tribals reluctant to close with the bear of a man.

Lionel and Balon work as a team with Falhim, Balon swipes with his mace, thumping anyone foolish enough to come close while Lionel bloodies his spear in a Cave Stalkers belly, the smell of perforated bowels actually improving the mans smell. Falhim wields his spear more like a staff, batting away the desperate blows of the Cave Stalkers who seek to overwhelm them. With a grunt and a laugh, he smashes the mouth of one with his spear shaft, scattering his few remaining teeth to the gravel of the trail.

You square up against five of the stinking savages, their eyes wild and crazed, their faces nearly hidden behind filth caked hair, beards and the hoods of their leathers. They hold a pair of spears, one iron and one a sharpened bone, a hefty, scavenged axe with a notched blade, a club made from the femur of a cliff jumper studded with spikes of bone bound with rawhide and lastly a long, jagged dagger made from the claw of a young Wyrm.

"Come on and die little men! Come on! You want to go back home and fuck your sisters don't you? Only way home is through ME!"
You taunt, your hand flicking to your belt as one of the larger Cave Stalkers charges forward, his notched axe held high and his blackened teeth bared in a feral snarl. Your hand flicks out, a heavy bladed hatchet whirling towards the mans skull but surprsingly the savage bats the hatchet away with his axe, closing in on you like a wild animal.

"Take fuckin' head! Take blade!"
He spits in his thick accent, his axe coming in a brutal chop. You make to block it but the blow was a feint as he drops his other hand back, jabbing into your hip with a dagger made of antler. Your armor prevents the blow from doing more than breaking the skin but it supplies just enough distraction for the savage to slash across your bicep with the rusted, notched blade of his axe. His grin of bloody glee is very nearly the last expression on his face as you lash out with your battle spear, the icy cold blade carving through the layers of filthy hides like paper, carving deep into the savages shoulder. He falls back with a shout of pain, the flesh of his shoulder white and stiff from the sorcery of the blade.
"Tricksy fuck! Cheat! Want blade! WANT IT!"
He roars to his companions as you grin, flicking the frozen slush of his blood from your blade.

"Come get it then"
The tribals look at you uncertainly, their bravest fighter just knocked back like a child. That moment is all the distraction you need as you lunge forward, your hammer coming around in a brutal arc. The slightly less filthy Cave Stalker barely has time to register what is happening before your hammer head slams into his chest. Ribs shatter audibly and blood fountains from his mouth as his pulped bones are driven into his lungs and heart. He stares down at the hammer head embedded solidly in his chest as he gurgles, his eyes locked on yours as your battle spear hacks down into the center of his skull, splitting it so deeply the cleanly sliced halves of his brain are clearly visible as you yank the blade free, ripping your hammer from the ruin of his chest. His broken body topples backward, his legs kicking with the orders of a brain hacked to ruin and powered by a pulledpulped heart.

"Gurn!!!"
Yells one of the younger, spear wielding savages, his spearpoint wavering as you round on his, blood spattered across your face and dripping from your hammer and spear. The wounded hunting party leader points at you, his shoulder slowly oozing blood from the frostbitten slash
"Kyal! Kill! Kill an' take blade! Kill!"

The young savage never has the chance to even try to kill you as you fall upon him. Your hammer comes around, his desperate block is insufficient as his spear shaft shatters under the massive blow. The look of terrified shock never leaves his face as your spear drives through his chest, flesh, bone and skins parting under the wickedly sharp edge. He stares down at the blade embedded in his chest up to the hilt, the cruel, fatal *Cold* of the blade preventing it from even bleeding. You pull the blade out as easily as it went in and the young man, little more than a filth smeared boy sags to his knees, looking up at you just in time to catch the head of your hammer to the forehead. His skull pulps into paste, grey matter, fluid, even a evacuated eyeball jet from his ruined head. You wrench your hammer from the center of his neck and kick his body backwards, the corpse rolling to a stop before his astounded companions.
"Kyal!"
"NO!"
"KILL YOU"

You roar in wordless rage as a spiked club thunks into your shoulder, the Pauldron saving you from a grievous wound. A second, rapid bash nearly dents the Pauldron, spikes of pain landing out from your shoulder.
"Ameer kill you! AMEER CRACK SKULL!
A thick, hoarse voice bellows behind you

The bruising impact nearly makes you drop your spear but you wheel on the man, hammer held high as he attempts to dart back, eyes wide. They widen further as the spike on the reverse side of the hammerhead buries four inches into his thigh, releasing a stream of blood and forcing him to fall back, holding his bleeding leg and cursing.

>cont
>>
>>2387139

You spit at the savage disdainfully, rolling your shoulder to inspect the damage. Aside from some bruising and a snapped buckle you're fine.
"Ameer doesn't crack SHIT"
You spit at him, turning on the final savage, his Wyrm-claw dagger held in shaking hands.
"Come on then rock licker. Let me see what you've got."
You snarl, advancing on the younger man.

To his credit he stands and fights bravely, the razor sharp claw in his hand scoring a thin line across your forearm as he swipes and withdraws, a bloody smile on his filthy face. You inspect the seeping slash and shake your head in disappointment, your arm jetting out in a blurring movement that buries three inches of the battle spear into his belly. His choked gasp of agony echoes out as you twist the blade, pulling it out and spinning toward him, the butt cap smacking him solidly across the back of the neck, dropping him onto his face with the crack of a broken nose.
"Nice try though"
You spit onto his back, stepping away from him and his wounded companions as they ready their weapons with bloody hands and determined snarls.
"Baer take blade! Good Blade! Rual like blade! Give many women!"
"Ameer take shinies! Take pretties!"
"Unnnhhh..."

Inbreeding tends to do that.

>>
The hulking, club wielding savage and the bleeding, bearded 'leader' of their group charge you together, the club wielder limping heavily on his maimed leg.
"Least two of us have balls"
You spit, tasting blood on your lips.

Baer reaches you first, swing his axe in frenzied, crazed slashes that seem more focused on carving off your face than opening your veins.
"Baer kill you! BAER KILL YOU! BAER KILL Y-HRRRK"
His frenzied snarls cut off as you step into a swing, your elbow crashing into his nose so hard the resulting ruin is actually concave. He stumbles back, spitting blood and blinded by agony, not even aware of your upwards swing. The enchanted steel carves through his groin, pelvis, belly, ribs, spine and skull without even slowing. His ruined corpse stands for a moment before toppling backward in two, gory pieces.

"Well... Not anymore at least"
You remark to the bisected mans corpse. A savage grunt catches you by surprise and stars flare in your vision as a blow catches you squarely in the back. Pain explodes as the shards of bone dig into your back, one shattering off in the wound as the club winds back, crashing into your ribs as you turn, driving the breathe from you again. The brute spits stinking, brownish saliva at you and cackles through blackened teeth
"Ameer crack bones! Big man break too!"

He winds up for another blow, his makeshift club stained with your blood when a shaft buries itself in his armpit, the tip poking from the side of his ribcage. You both look at it in shock and the savage looks at you in shocked confusion, a cautious laugh spilling from him.
"Ameer can't be killed! Ameer too strong! Ameer break you!"

His laugh dies on his lips as your blurringly fast counter blow sends your hammer crashing into the side of his neck, the heavy, angled head tearing through his flesh as easily as a blade. His stunnes expression stays on his face as his head sails over the edge of the trail like a thrown ball. You cough, your ribs twinging painfully and spit blood onto his corpse.
"Big man break YOU ya sheep fucker"

"Uhhhhnnn... Baer? Gurn? Ameer? Help... Help Nost... Help chieftains son..."
The pummeled hunter groans, laying weakly on his belly, a pool of dark blood spreading from his pierced gut and smashed nose. You stride over to the young man, flipping him over with a boot. He looks up at you, his teeth cracked and nose flattened from the abrupt impact, his eyes glassy and lips shredded. His muddy brown eyes fix on you dazedly as you reach down.
"Here. Lemme give ya a hand"

Tentatively, he reaches up, grasping your arm with a nervous smile as you grip his forearm solidly.
"Help me? You? Help?"

"Nope"
You smile cruelly, shaking your head and slamming a foot down on the younger mans chest, his gasp of pain rising into a gasping scream as you pull back inexorably.

Tendon, muscle, joints and bone prove no match for your strength and with no more effort than D ismembering a roast chicken you rip the young mans arm from its socket, using it as a makeshift club to beat him thoroughly as blood spurts from the ragged hole in his shoulder. His shouts of pain grow weaker and weaker as his blood flows away, finally stilling as you thump his arm into his head over and over. You throw his arm down onto his corpse and smirk to yourself
"There. Gave ya a hand"

You look out across the makeshift battlefield and grin to yourself as you watch your companions carve through the remaining Cave Stalkers. Urhost plants his foot on a wriggling savage and buries his axe up to the shaft into the wounded mans shoulder with a roar of victory

Arvel sits atop a bloody faced savage, pinning the mans arms with his knees, his fists dripping blood as he pummels the mans head into the stone. His hand axe sits a few meters away, buried in a Cave Stalkers neck.

Falhim, Lionel and Balon have mastered their teamwork and are going as a team against the remaining four savages. You wipe blood from your lips and heft your weapons, grinning like a wolf.

Hey QM I re-read the post where Magnus kills the last of his enemies and I started wondering about Nost who said he was the chief's son.

Will that complicate things later on down the line?

I mean with barbarians the chieftain probably has tons of children, but will this mean we have to worry about the barbarian hill billies trying to go all deliverance on us as we go on our adventures?

>>
>>2388176
The Cave Stalkers are in fact VERY good at ambushes and creeping up to stick a rusty dagger up your urethra.
>>
>>2388176
Since you asked

Stone Bears-Formerly a great tribe, after the death of their legendary warbeasts, they fell from power.

Black Hands-Mean, Xenophobic, Fire Worshipping, Sadistic yet honorbound Raiders.

The Sky-Watchers-Mystics, Friends of the great eagles and damn good archers.

Wyrm-Killers-living off of past glories, they're a tribe of bitter older men and angry young ones.

Cliff Men- a group of nomadic tribals clinging to primitive ways, the cliff men arenr worth much to anybody dead or alive.

The Wave-Hunters- Not Vikings (Vikings)

Frost-Bears- the stone bears before they lost their bears and their balls. They are damn good beast trainers and warriors.

Troll-Slayers- what the name implies, these guys excel at killing trolls. And anything else.

Blood Axes- the more civilized group of tribals, these guys have a love hate relationship with everything. Basically Khornates.

Cave Stalkers-Inbred, Rock worshipping, shit eating hillbillies with a murderboner for anyone weaker than them and a literal homer for their relatives.
>>
>>2388208
>>2388208
Oh man you KNOW we need the Blood Axes, Troll-Slayers, Sky-Watchers, and Black Hands on our side.
>>
>>2388208
In that case our first targets for conquest should be the sick men of the barbarian tribes.

stonebears- no longer have their trademark resource and are on hard times, they may even be willing to submit to us if we show up with tamed griffins.

Wyrm killers- no longer a power and filled with men either hungry to relive past glory or gain some for themselves. If we can big man them they could fill our ranks nicely.

Cliffmen- Too cavemanish to be useful but if we can break them in and get them to stop derping around in the stone age they can be good soldiers.
>>
>>2388231
>>2388236
Since these are barbarians and raiders, nice words will not when them all over. This may be a bit of a (S)Hitler thing to do, but they'll only band together under two conditions, under extreme strife (while yes they've a lot of their glory they still maintain their quality of life) or the other way is to become so powerful that they need to kneel before us. Such an example would be....raiding the tribes, taking their best men and resources, such as fighters from the blood axes or the frost bears beast tamers and then we show back up with the head of a Moon Lord. That would rally some banners.

>103>78. The amazing Trio!

You lean heavily against the stone to your back, letting your weapons rest across your knee. Letting the trio fight as a group and see how they perform. If they start getting overwhelmed, you can always walk over and pull someone's head off.

Lionel spins his spear in both hands, batting away the clumsy thrust of a stone tipped spear. With a victorious shout he brings his spear back around, the razor sharp head opening his throat in a spray of blood. You nod and clap slowly, resting your feet on Ameers decapitated corpse.

Falhim steps into a sweeping slash of a bone edged axe and shoulder checks the grime covered raider with a grunt of effort, sending the man toppling. Planting his boot on the mans chest his drives his spear downward, ramming a foot of spearpoint through the mans eyesocket. He narrowly dodges back with a cry of alarm as a hatchet swinging tribal drives him back. Falhim stumbles over a corpse, almost falling victim to the frenzied raiders violence until Balon steps forward, grabbing the man from behind and with a twist of his powerful arms, turns the mans head completely around.

"Well done!"
You call out, clapping heavily and grinning in vicious pride as the men turn the tables on their remaining opponent. The terrified tribal stares at the men surrounding him and drops to his knees, raising his hands high.

"Your executions been stalled my friend"
He mutters, kicking the man in the rear.

As in the moon goddess. Despite her flock being a cunt. We've sacked her villages and all she's really done is give us sweet loot. While she's not stated too directly to give us boons, doesn't it feel a little strange how we get these great things and yet no great paladin appears before us to smite us? Perhaps we're onto something good....
>>
>>2388555
The impression I get is that spirits and gods have the power to intervene in certain situtions, and QM has said that worship and recognition from mortals greatly increases that power, but I also get the impression that even gods can't pull the old fire and brimstone act whenever and the most direct influence they have is over partiularly devoted subjects who the deity can empower if the mortal has sufficiently proven themselves.

And it should be said though that gods and spirits are not omniscient nor can magically do and see everything whenever they want.

Also 10 bucks says that Vall is porbably running interference to keep us from getting punked by a bunch of moon ash hopped up zealots before we can get into a real fight as opposed to getting mobbed and dieing because the lady Nyx is a huge bitch who probably can't take an L to save her life.

I also speculate for shits and giggles that vall regularly bullies the spirits and gods for fun and that he gives Nyx a thumping whenever she gets too uppity, but doesn't kill her because he wants his followers to face more of a challenge while they are on earth.

>>2389128
I would genunely would not be surprised if one of the reasons for the silver legions showing up and breaking up the sons of Vall was because Nyx got some of Vall's god slayer and tried to get his attention by throwing a fit.

I also wouldn't be surpirsed if Vall just bent Nyx over the spirit plane and reamed her. Warlord has pretty much said that aside from the elder gods Vall can pretty much make everything else in the spirit plane his bitch.
>>
>>2389208
>inb4 it turns out that Nyx is Vall`s concubine or something
>>
>>2389215
I imagine Vall is like OG Crom from the Conan Mythos. His gift to men is not any specific blessing and you can't count on him actually listening to prayers, but he sees potential in men to accomplish great things so he gives blessings or miracles to give them the oppurtunity to accomplish them.

If Nyx were a concubine I wouldn't be surprised if Vall ordered her to fuck up the sons because they were growing lazy and stagnant.
>>
>>2389208
Guys, you know we're using this next time we face Moonfags.

"VALL FUCKS YOUR GODDESS."
"THE MOON LADY IS VALL'S WHORE."
"YOUR GODDESS DRIPS WITH VALL'S SEED."

And so on.
>>
>>2389247
I suggested in a previous thread that we should find a temple or abbey dedicated to the moon goddess. My first reason was because abbeys and temples tend to have lots of shiny gubbinz and the other reason was that we should impregnate as many moon priestesses as possible just to piss off the moonies.

You look down at the cringing, cowering Cave Stalker, the mans furs caked with filth and dried blood, mud and smeared dung, his nails dirty and cracked, his hair and beard tangled and greasy. He pleads for his life in their thick, broken accent and you finally tire of his groveling.
"Why?"

The Cave Stalker, Ollo, looks up cautiously, cowardly tears and snot cutting tracks through the layer of filth on his face.
"W-why? Why no kill?"

You crouch down, drawing your dagger slowly and flipping the blade in your palm to gain the mans undivided attention
"Yes. Why no kill? Because..."
You place the tip of the dagger under the mans chin and smile cruelly
"We want to kill. Badly. So... Why. No. Kill?"

The savage swallows audibly, his brown tongue flicking out to wet his cracked lips.
"Ollo...Ollo know things! Many things! Tell things! Tell things for life!"

Seems to me there's little point in asking him where his tribe is, since Urhost or Wren probably know. Unless we're intending immediate conquest there's not much point in gauging their numbers either, though that could be useful. We could try to falseflag it and provoke them to attack one of the other tribes, but if that goes wrong we'll have two other tribes coming at the Crag Wolves (which could be fun, but is risky and likely would not be good for earning respect from Throth).

I vote

Yeah, but if they catch on that 'hey, these don't like the guys that hit us, what gives,' then we may get them teaming up and coming after us. Now, how do we explain that to Throth?
>"Well Throth, it sounded funny as shit at the time. Sorry we're now 2-on-1-ing it against other tribes."

Even if they are pushover tribes, they are two other *tribes* versus our one. All I'm sayin' is there is reason for caution with the false-flag, especially without the thumbs-up from Throth.

>Questions seems to win. Writing.

"Tell me what I want to know and you might live. Listen and listen well. Your home, where is it?"
You speak softly and calmly, staring the man in his terrified eyes.

Ollo swallows, his eyes flickering between your face, the dagger in your hands and your surrounding companions flowering down at him. He nods frantically, his mouth working, almost spitting the words out
"Home? Home is in Great Caves! That way! That way!"
He points frantically to the southeast of your current position and Urhost nods, crossing his arms
"The cowardly lil bugger is right. The Cave Stalkers been holed up in that set of caves for generations. Not worth the bloody trouble to root 'em out. Too bad considering there's iron in those caves. Theyre just too bloody stupid to mine it"

You tap the blade of your dagger to your cheek and give the man a pat on his disgusting shoulder
"Good. See? That wasn't hard. Now, the Cairn? The tomb? The burial stones up ahead? A days travel that way? What do you know?"

Ollo blinks in confusion, chewing his cheek as he quickly thinks, well... As quickly as someone who's family tree is a straight line can.
"Stones? Place of the dead? Ollo not go there. Cursed. Stone spirits punish Ollo if go. Not know. Not know"

You scowl, flicking the dagger across the mans cheek, laying open the flesh in a thin slash that immediately trickles blood down his chin
"Not worth much to me are you?"
You growl as he whimpers in pain, clutching his cut cheek.
"Your tribe. How many warriors do they have? How many fighters?"

Wren snorts, picking his fingernails with a dagger
"Assuming he can count? Bold choice Magnus"

Ollo puts his limited brain power to use, you can practically see steam issuing from his ears as his brain overheats but finally he looks up at you hopefully, holding up his hands, all fingers extended
"This many this many!"
He quickly opens and closes his hands near twenty times.

You bite your tongue and thinj over the mans information. If his counting skills are correct that's near two hundred fighters. Theyre men haven't impressed you much but that's a substantial force.

You smile at the cowardly Cave Stalker and stand, offering him your hand to pull him to his feet.

You stride over to the battered corpse of Nost and grip his lanky, greasy hair in one hand, sawing at the throat with your dagger. Ollo sputtered nervously
"Chief... Chief Rual not like. Chief Rual hurt Ollo."

With a wet rip you pull the head free from the body, the last vestiges of skin and tendon tearing like paper as you stand, smiling at the craven hunter
"I will hurt you worse if you don't. Take this..."
You toss the head at the man, his reflexive jerk making your men laugh as it knocks against Ollos feet.
"And take it to your chief. Tell him... Tell him the Wyrm Killers are coming for him. Tell him we will kill him like his coward of a son"

Arvel blinks confusedly, opening his mouth to correct you but Urhost slaps the back of his head and glares at him. Ollo looks at the head at his feet and tentatively picks it up, gripping the greasy hair so tightly his knuckles turn white.

"Wren? Do you have a minute? Im leaking over here"
You call out, Wren looking up from bandaging a slash on Urhost's thigh, nodding as he rises, patting Urhost on the shoulder as he does
"You'll be fine big guy just keep it clean. Did the shit eaters manage to bust you up Magnus?"
He laughs, whistling as he takes in the purple and black bruises and torn flesh of your back and ribs.
"THAT... That looks painful"
He points out, eying the shard of sharpened bone jutting from your upper back.

Pulling bandages and vials of oils and pastes from his pack he kneels next to you, working from largest injury to smallest.
"Cave Stalkers are mean little fuckers arent they? Vicious, cruel, not smart enough to flee half the time and savage enough to eat their own children. Ive met worse but... Not many"
He states, pouring a small amount of that burning clear liquid over the puncture in your back, wiggling the shard free carefully and rinsing the wound with the infernal liquid.

You keep your back straight as Wren rubs a oil that tingles the skin of your back into the bruised and torn tissue.

He chuckles quietly, capping the vial and wrapping a bandage around your chest and side.
"Yes, all of the scouts have to learn how. I had to learn a... A bit more because of my injuries but it served us well."

You think back to the glimpses of Wren's hideous scars and warped, twisted feet and legs and decide not to venture there.
"What made you want to be a scout Wren? Didn't want to charge into the fray as a child?"

Wren is quiet for a moment, prodding the bruised on your shoulder and forcing you to roll the limb.
"I was never big or strong. But I was brave, quick and quiet. Didnt fear a thing and even at a young age I was a damn good shot. Can ruinius slash be used on weapons?
>>
>>2391157
No but I do intend to add a special attack for Great Weapons. "Shield Breaker" which has a 2nd tier of "Weapon Shatter" that can destroy your enemies main weapon.

Is asking about medical training meaning learning the basics for ourselves?

If so, ask about his father. Sounds like a good man

Apologies for my absence today. Its been very busy and demanding of my time. I should be free tomorrow late afternoon (best friends baby reveal is tomorrow) but in the off chance I am not, thread will continue Sunday at the absolute latest. You guys are awesome and I shall return! Feel free to discuss, criticize, ask questions or suggest plans of action.

>(best friends baby reveal is tomorrow)
Is that some kind of weird tribal celebration for couples who club other couples over the head and take their baby as their own?
I've never heard of a baby reveal before

QM is saying he's a hipster. Hey warlord, how were your homemade vegan bran flakes this morning?
>>
>>2394962
Theyre delicious when topped with the blood of my enemies. Really gets me jazzed up for my urban mentor nude bicycle yoga.

His fiancee's idea. Im mainly going because I was invited and his family makes awesome BBQ

Sacrifice the baby to Khorne in exchange for more power
>>

I can't really criticize. I just went through the Starbucks drive through to order the wife's triple venti skim hazelnut latte... Girls ruin everything
>>
>>2395108
Starbucks have drivethroughs?
I didn't think they were allowed to do anything so mainstream.
Mind, up here everyone aside from pretentious twats drink timmies.

>anon wants to sacrifice a BABY to khorne
>no actual test of strength
>no combat nor threat of death
>tiny skull
>no effort to kill (fighting the parents doesn't count they are a seperate sacrifice)

bitch do you want a bloodthirster to show up and beat your ass into super space hell for offering such a shitty offering to Khorne!

I mean, if you did that deliberately, knowing you would get a bloodthirster to fight and then offer that skull... You know, if you survive.

Im pretty sure that just gets more bloodthirsters sent to shove flaming swords up your ass
>>
>Let Wren work in peace.

Deciding not to pick at old wounds, you simply smile and nod, remaining still and quiet as your wounds are cleaned, stitched and bandaged. Wren shows his skill in that a mere matter of minutes elapse before he steps back, cleaning his scarred hands with a wet rag and nodding to himself
"If you keep those clean you should be fine in a day or so. BlackRoot oil speeds healing and prevents infection. Can't even think what nastiness those savages had on their blades."

You think back to the layer of rust, grime, dried blood and most likely shit that was smeared along the Cave Stalkers blades and shudder.
"Aye I'd rather not have my dangly bits fall off"

Wren chuckles, patting your treated shoulder and standing
"Im sure your women would never forgive me if I allowed that"

Get some rest. Like everyone recovering from St. Paddy's day
>>
>Get some rest

Thanking Wren for his efforts, you rise, tenderly working your arm and twisting your body, pleased at the general lack of agony. Wren makes his way over to Falhim, the younger raider swearing as he clutches a bleeding bite wound from a wounded Cave Stalker that took offense to being thrown over the edge.

In rolling your bedroll, you gnaw a chunk of roasted Cliff Jumper, savoring the smoky fat and searing grease that warm your belly. You eat your fill, washing it down with a large swig from your waterskin and laying back with a sigh, using your pack as a pillow. Post-Battle exhaustion claims you quickly and you fall asleep within moments, dreams of conquest dancing behind your eyes.

Depends on how fickle he is being, that's totally a possibility.
But a mortal killing a bloodthirster in single combat is pretty fucking impressive, if you were some tribal fuckwit with nothing good left to kill on your planet and that was the only way you could think of to get a good fight, I could see him being content, it might take a few bloodthirsters though.
