Sulfur.

Sulfur and death.

These are the first two things that come into mind. Cracks of light barely illuminate your rubble tomb, by some miracle your body isn't crushed under the immense weight just yet. There is little time to register pain, you need to get out of here. Now.

Mustering what little strength you have, you crawl out of danger soaked in your blood and sweat. In a erratic fashion, you wipe out the smear on your eyes but your vision is still blurry. Left and right, Swirling flames dancing manically and laughing at your untimely demise.

Amidst all this chaos you hear a faint voice of a child ? you can't tell; your right ear is still ringing. "F-father...?"

You can't leave a child of your own in the heart of flames. You turn your back against what seems to be the door and start to look for him; maybe he is under some rubble too.

The smoke is growing thicker at an alarming rate, you cut off a blood stained piece of cloth to cover your face with it. Your eyes search fanatically for any sign of life but to no avail.

That is until you find a lonely finger sticking out of a pile half burnt books. In an instant, you claw these book out of the way....

Only to find a charred corpse of a woman.

Her blackened flesh still sizzling, you can only tell she is a woman by her face which is mostly unscathed. Is this your servant? your sister? your wife?

You can not remember.

Without thinking, take off her gold ring. It...it feels important to you. The moment you turn around, you are greeted by an unrelenting force easily throwing you next to the corpse.

"Hello father, I thought i killed you." your eyes bleed profusely, the mere act of blinking erupts a tremendous pain. You close your eyes practically at the mercy of this thing.

>Then finish the job, demon!

A twisted laugh erupts from this unholy child. "Pitiful man, to think i harbored love and loyalty for such a monster. No...Death is too much simple of a punishment for you. You.Deserve.Much.More."

Your body jolts in agony as a sharp object stabs your chest. This child gives you a gentle kiss on your forehead.

"Goodnight, Father."

Death hasn't come for you. That or the afterlife is some Yolkiz forest. Yolkiz ? How did you remember this?

The forest is bustling with different colours of life from feeble squirrels to majestic deers, Thankfully, the more dangerous sorts aren't here. You spot a mushroom shelf on a rotting tree trunk. Its name is on the tip of your tongue if only you can remember. However, you are positive that these are not edible.

Now why will you be interested in mushrooms in the first place? It must be somehow related to your profession. Hmm.

The other notable thing to spot is a steady stream of water running through the heart of the forest. That's a very good sign. You can't help but to smile at this glimpse of hope.

Your bloodstained clothes are no more. Instead, you are wearing an open white shirt with a simple black trouser, they are pretty loose though. All your wounds were carefully dressed and taken care of, this can't be some traditional healing. Your pocket had a tiny piece of paper with some hastily written words on it:

' Note: Don't unwrap the dagger unless it is in the Lidgeo circle .

Now we are even.

-K'

More questions with little answers. You finally notice said dagger on your right side. It is wrapped with soft black silk . In a moment of silence, you can both hear and feel it throbbing like a beating heart.

'I will set you free...'
'A single stab...'
'You long for me...'
'I am your eternal reward...'

Whispers seeps from this dagger, a thousand voice, each one softer and more tempting than the other.

What is her title.... Sisersta ? Yes, They are so called blessed by the stars above. White robes with blue linings, this has to be one.

One of the bodyguards raises his sword when he sees yours. The other simply notifies the Sisersta of your presence. He assumes a less aggressive stance with his polearm

You find yourself pinned to the ground gasping for a lick of air. The Sisersta pants heavily, she leans against the shrine.

"Give us the order, Milday!"

"Pl...ease stop." She begs her companion "This poor thing, rotten to the core and tainted. He is beyond salvation. He is a slave to whim of the dagger."

"Milday, He is clearly a danger to everyone around! We can not let him live, his attack is enough for some choppin' !"

Again, she refuses "I am aware, Izabeau, While I can not guide him to redemption. The stars above has given this tainted soul a second chance. A man of his ilk can aid him. There is an alchemist who can help him in Zaltm"

The two guards reluctantly allow you to stand up. "Here," She gave you a silver and five copper pieces "These will help you along your way. Take the first right path and you will reach the village. I pray you won't harm anyone along the way. "

You can't help to admire the full moon and the array of its so called 'divine' stars. You may have lost your memories but you are more than certain that your past self also considers these celestial as mere hogwash. Your newly acquired coins shall serve you well for the next couple of days, still, you must not slack off; this accursed dagger will be the end of you if you don't act.

You can see the outline of Zaltm, It feels like any backwater shitehole alright from here. Fields of wheat surround this sorrowful village hiding the mire behind a soothing scenery. Good, you are almost here.

"Love,Love, Love...Mine,mine, mine, mine,mine.We,we,we,we." You heard a crackling voice mumbling to your right. Somehow, it feels oddly familiar.

On the first glance, it looks like any normal peasant. Initial appearances are always deceitful. This.... thing has odd proportionals for a human; twisted hands and feet carefully hidden by the surrounding wheat. Moreover, this thing was made out of straws and animal flesh. The only natural thing about it was its black hair.

Whether it is out of morbid curiosity or blood-still fear, you didn't move a muscle. Your eyes briefly spot stains of dry blood on some of the wheat. All traces back to her other hand which is holding a freshly torn head.

It was of that villager in the clearing . The poor bloke might have stand a chance with his sword. You don't feel remorseful , however. His lover's head was squished under this abomination.

You froze when that thing finally acknowledges you, its rotten face still hidden under its hair. You don't seems to be of that import to it. The creature holds the bloke's head close to it breasts firmly occasionally kissing him on the forehead "Love,Love,Together,Together."

For the first time, The dagger's temptations has cease. You swear you can hear something else....

Muffled cries.

>Draw your wimpsy sword, you owe this bloke some revenge at the very least
>Attempt to communicate with this creature?
>Run, as fast as you can, warn the village of the monster lurking in the fields

A single swipe can render your arm with ease. Caution and wit are your best allies. You ready your blade assuming an aggressive stance.

The beast however, keeps ignoring you completely uttering more useless gibberish. You are at an arm length when it drops on its mutilated knees still holding the villager's head tightly.

You don't understand. Is such abomination capable of remorse and guilt? or is this merely a trick to lay your guard down? Regardless It remains still.

You struck the beast with every ounce of strength in your body, a nasty gash in the base of its neck followed by another strike sealed the deal. It now shares the same fate of its victims.

You can't explain it but it felt natural to you like an old habit. Strange, what was even more stranger was the congregation of field rats, at least half a dozen. piling over the headless creature while ignoring the bloke entirely.

Not to be associated with the bloke's death, you left his sword and satchel at the scene taking only the coins with you. These dolts are probably waiting for the first pyre to blaze or the first rope to hang. You want none of that.

___________

As expected, the village is quieter than the grave. Some loud snoring would sometimes seep from the poor dwellings at uneven intervals.

The single torch lit around belongs to two half drunk town watch. These watchmen have a glorified pointy sticks or a pitiful excuse for a spear. you probably can snap it in half with ease. No iron or studded leather either, just some plain clothes. A middle aged woman is among them, she looks really panicked and stressed. They are doing little to soothe her troubled soul.

" 'old on Rees" the other watchman points at his shoes for some reason then he points back at you "He got somethin' on his slimmmmy tongue. Lets hear'em."

"An Alchemist lives in this village. I need to speak to him." you went straight to the point.

"You daft or something? We are in the heart of the night! Besides, She is a feisty one. A lazy bum like you can only dream of meeting her."

"She? I thoug-" Your thoughts are interrupted when a drunken hand crept to your dagger side "What you hidin'? "

The Alchemist house claimed a small hillock at the edge of a the village. It reeks of smells that are not foreign to you. It is bigger than most dwellings around here. Surrounded by a small wooden fence It has a well and a small garden with different plants and mushrooms.

"Standing here in the open won't do us anyone good. Come inside."

You follow her to a well furnished small dinning room. The first thing you notice is a crude creature waiting inside. A child sized wood doll thing with a white ceramic mask to hide its hideous face.

"Mama! Mama! Customer? Visitor? Visitor! Tea time? Lunch time? Time time?"

"Yes, Kotella, This is a visitor. Good job" If anything the Alchemist was a tad annoyed "Pardon this rather energetic homunculus, I will eventually get better at this." She whispers apologetically.

_________

Throughout the next hour or so, you told her everything about your current plight. She opened her mouth for the second time (first time was when her homunculus put salt instead of sugar in the tea) "Quite a tale you have there, I do sense something Alchemcial of your supposed cursed dagger. But before anything, I must see if you have our talent in the first place. Many claim that they are alchemists, One second."

The woman left you to fetch a strange cubic contraption. Ah yes, An old model of the Zolyhydlon ...wait what?

"Show me," The Alchemist is more than intrigued. You pull out your hand only to find it covered in pink sticky goo.

"Is that enough for you?"

"Enough? This is great!" her face brightens "Not only are you an Alchemist but also you have some affinity in Homunculusei! You are just what i need!"

With proper assistance, I am to reach his level of skills. You have no memory, no shelter,no reliable source of income, not even a name..."

"I see where this is going." You grit your teeth in anger. You are powerless.

"I demand servitude . Not for menial jobs, that is for my future creations. In return i will promise you to get rid of the evil inside the dagger. Caro Foedus will be our witness and our executor."

Disappointment is clearly drawn on her face " As you wish. My offer still stands, maybe it will extend more to hunting down your tormentor. I wonder how many days will it take until the dagger forces you to slit someone's throat? i am sure that you will do just fine without m-"

From the window, you can see the same watchmen from yesterday except this time they appear look absolutely terrified, they knock on the door repeatedly "Vestra Mieglo! Vestra Mieglo! Help us please!"

The Alchemist left the dinning with a concerned look on her face. Her Homunculus opened the door "What is it this time?"

"Stars aids us! The wheat fields... a beastie make it its home with Donnal's head sticking out of it! We should have listened to his mum yesterday! Stars above! Stars above!"

"Clam down you oaf!" Vestra is an Alchemist title just like Sisersta, Now you remember "How big is it? what is it made off? give me colour, shape, everything!"

The Watchman Rees had more nerve than his friend "Big as four oxes, A miserable pile of flesh, straw , teeth and Rat hide. Too bloated to move on its own. I'll be careful around it Milady, it has lashes for arms. One has Donnal's sword too!"

_________

You didn't expect her or rather her late father's laboratory to be so spacious. Instruments, books, ingredients all around you. The first thing Mieglo did was consulting one of her books, after quickly skimming through it.

There are more than four processes. While you can't recall the more advanced ones, the basics ones shine in your mind like a beacon of light. They are:

Nigredo

Basic conception of any Transmutation rite. Probably the most important one. You kill the essence of the elements in the circle. Their previous form forever changed.

Albedo

The slow purification process of their raw form, from the darkness, a new light shall rise ever so defiant of its past lives.

Citrinitas

The Rebirth of a new entity, ever so frail and blind to the world outside. The simplest of miscalculation can easily end the whole progress of the rite.

Rubedo

The reshaping and the final maturation of the new form into the desired result. One of the most variable.

At this very moment a surge of old memory struck you...

Souls

They are conceived in the stars far above, such entities took pity on the lack of life and so they gently showered the earth with souls creating life. Those who are blessed by the celestial are holy men and women possessing great powers.

Then they are people like you and this young woman, who looked at the supposed gods and shunned their divinity. They are not gods. they are creatures that can and will die with Colourless souls inside of them that can be harvested. The ability to be able to channel these unused souls make you a 'tainted' or as you like to call yourself: An Alchemist

Of course these same souls can be used for ill deeds like raising the dead but this is not your concern, your profession is legal.

Your hands starts to work on their own. Yes, you drew this circle dozens if not hundreds of times.

"What are you doing?" Mieglo clearly wasn't happy with you going on your own way.

" Reigulamatas Circle , It gives more controls over both the Nigredo and Rubedo processes but in return, the Albedo process is much slower."

The Alchemist wants to lash at you, it is on the tip of her tongue but instead she swallows most of it "We have little time to waste but fine. Let's get to it."

Mieglo placed the three elements needed for the rite:

-Rotten flesh which will act as the base of the concoction and it will increase the affinity against the beast outside.

- wormwood powder , from the common wormwood which is found in nearby forests. Acts as a stabilizer

-Lamentas Arae: The Ethereal Alchemical element , this is the reagent . The most expensive of all the three ingredients. It is contained in void glass, it is said that these are the vast emptiness inside a dead star itself. Black and purple hazes ever so shimmering at different angles.

Alchemical ingredients are different to contain and preserve since they are normally fused with things beyond our world. You are glad to remember this.

Mieglo took another peek through the book, making sure that the ratios are all set. "We are performing a Geminos Perfectas , meaning we will have to split the rite equally. Choose two processes and leave the other two to me.

She frowns but doesn't say anything more. You position yourself next to the circle. For an Alchemist, the most common method for transmutation is via using your hands. More advanced Alchemists can issue commands to the circle verbally or even telepathically.

The circle first acknowledges you as its master, Two small slits in time and space has opened on each side of the circle. This is where you will assume control.

There are five states of matter.Three are Natural (Solid, Liquid, gas) while two are Alchemical (Ethereal and Void)

In the Nigredo process, one must alter the state of natural ingredient. Alchemical ingredients are not advised to be altered. it goes like this

Solid--->Liquid--->Gas then the loop will start all over

To convert a natural state to an Alchemical state, It must be momentary exposed to the corpse of a dead star. This process is not reversible.

-Solid+ Dead Star----> Void
-Liquid+ Dead Star----> Ethereal
-Gas+ Dead Star----> Ethereal

The is another unstable state, the Immaterium . It is usually a brief state where a natural state AND an Alchemical state combines. It is very hard to maintain and to preserve. Not for novice Alchemists.

Any Natural state+ Any Alchemical state----> Immaterium
Void+Star--->Immaterium
Ethereal +Dead Star--->Immaterium
Immaterium (Spontaneously)----> The most dominant state

"Change to meat first to Liquid, then the powder to Void and finally the Arae remains as it is." Mieglo gave you instructions.

>Alter the state of said ingredients (2D5)
>Ignore her instructions, Alter them as to the states you prefer (3D5)

You take a deep brought and channel your thoughts through the slits, all of the three ingredients were swallowed up into the unknown. Now you recall the importance of the Vocalles . They are indicators of whether he first stage has been successful or not. There isnt a singular true rule for the Vocalles but to put it in simpler terms, you hear the endless echoes either inside or outside a dead star. They are otherworldly, almost impossible to interpret.

A waterfall of dreams piercing the concept of duality. It made no sense, you are aware of that but that is what these sounds meant to you.

A mild Success .

The three ingredients return again to this releam, still bound by the circle. Thus begins the next process, Albedo .

Albedo relies on the success of Nigredo, since you achieved mild success , the purification progress will take a surmountable amount of time. That is of course if you haven't used this particular circle. It is fine, you are mentally prepared to maintain this process.

"It is a shame to let go of the Mallum Prima ." She sighed. Mieglo is speaking of the first residue of transmutation. These black sluggish Ethereal element is more or less the leftovers from both Albedo and Rubedo processes. It has its uses but unless you command the circle to not to dispose of the Mallum, it is gone forever.

You close your eyes concentrating on the task ahead. Black slugs slowly start to materialize in the heart of the circle with one intention: to escape the confines of their birthplace.

They lose any form of sentience the moment they crawl outside forming the useful Mallum Prima. A thin black line is formed on the edge of the circle.

You can sense some traces of residue inside the circle. While you haven't fully purified the mixture, This is not a deal breaker.

A Resounding Success

Sweat slowly trickles from your forehead, Transmutation is physically and mentally demanding. You take a deep breath focusing on the third process.

The process of Citrinitas will begin where you will combine all of these ingredients in the heart of the circle. Had it been Natural states only, It would have been easier but alas you have two Alchemical state to combine for a new rebirth.

The new mixture will be an Immaterium, you will need to carefully guide it to its next desired state which is Liquid . The liquid rotten meat should facilitate the process since it is the base for the concoction.

>Perform the Citrinitas process [D30]

And thus the rebirth began, you press your hand harder against the floor to confirm your authority over the circle as all the ingredients are merged into an Immaterium in the center.

The rebirth has finished, a new liquid entity floats in the air with pulsating red capillaries and other minor strands . It is not perfectly done however. Not bad for a first try.

A Resounding Success

You sense exhaustion within, slowly eating you from the inside. You are almost done, no need to think about it.

The final stage is at hand. The Rubedo , the Reigulamatas circle gives you more control over the final reshaping. It has two folds, the first one is give the Ordo to the new mixture; Extra Non-state properties like being acidic, viscous , having high melting point and so on . The more properties you desire, the harder the stage will be. This also applies to more complex properties like flesh eating only or being frozen on contact with organic material .

The second fold is to remove any residue. The Mallum Secundus is usually lesser and of more importance than Mallum Prima. Same rules apply.

"Homunculus eater and Ignore Vegetation." says Mieglo. This makes sense. You starts reshaping.

>Reshape the mixture with only these two properties in mind [2D5]

And

>Add a simple property [XD3]
>Add a complex property [XD5]

"I am impressed, Good job. Come on, we have a faulted one to kill." At this moment, you felt dizzy and a bit woozy partially because of the rite as well as the droning whispers seeping from the dagger. It speaks ills of you like a maddening gossip yet you can't really tell what they are saying. You eye finally catch the wooden Homunculus sulking in a lonely corner with a knife of her own. This will make you able to have a chance for resisting its temptations. My father made it long ago so it might have lost a bit of its potency."

Without a second thought, you drink this peculiar potion. The whispers did start to quell just a bit. "You can rest in my guest room. Try to think of a name when i come back. Kotella is at your disposal...just don't try to give her long commands. She is still too finicky for them."

While Kotella did leave the room, you can still sense her morbid presence habit the door with her ceramic mask glued to the keyhole. No matter, you delve into deep sleep.

_______

You weren't plagued by the demon thankfully. In fact, it was almost a blissful sleep. Huh, It is nearing sunset. You look through the window to find general peace and quite. The concoction must have worked quite nicely.

A small (obviously cold) meal is waiting for you in an addition to a set of plain clothes. All this time you were in some ragtags barely fit for an Alchemist.

After changing your clothes, You were disgusted by your food. Both the potato AND the half roast chicken felt like a formless blob. What's with thes-

You stopped for a second, wiping out the dust of the mirror with your sleeve. The mirror shows you a darkened tongue dotted with tiny black buds.

'Just the beginning...'
'You shall suffer...
'I am your eternal reward...'

The masked Homunculus entered shortly afterwards, your will never get used to that thing "Mama wait you! Study room. Come Come!"

You followed its tiny steps to the second floor which consisted of many locked rooms and one long corridor.

You entered perhaps the best place in this mediocre house. It has a decent sum of books and a somewhat luxurious desk . Her father and you could have been fast friends. Oh well.

Hmph, This Anima Vinculum ... It looks really familiar, This large metallic sphere houses a Hollowed Homunculus which acts as a tool to bait the colourless souls to inhabit it. Then the harvest will begin.

It is a very slow process which can take up the months. Looks like this Anima Vinculum is modified somehow. You will get to look at it later.

"How did it go?"

"Wonderful," she exclaimed, "It stood little chance and no one got hurt. They took the remnants of Donnel for a proper funeral."

Kotella brought the same contract paper in great anticipation "Time time? Contract time?"

"Not yet. We still need a name before anything."

The woman replied " Well you do like a foreigner." So far, most around here had more or less the same complexion; round white faces with petite noses and smooth brown or red hair. You on the other hand had a pale skin, crooked nose and square-like face with jagged short black hair. You remember a saying that Alchemisim and other soul-tampering professions writhe the body over the decades. It is no wonder that the pillars of Alchemy are all wrinkled and frail like a twig ready to snap.

"Now, to Discuss our terms. I will provide food, shelter and a workplace for you . In addition of aiding you in severing the link between you and the dagger and- if i become more capable, I will aid you to extinguish this demon child of yours . It somehow didn't end too good for the other party.

Your vision goes black and yet you can hear every sound your body and dagger emit. You hear a shriek followed by another of higher pitch then the sweet sensation of blood washes over you.

The crimson haze is gone, you open your eyes slowly. It immediately darts over a wood hand clinging to a small knife, the rest of its owner is shattered to a pieces. Such Immense strength...could it be yours?

Your murky reflection lies beneath your feet. Mieglo was there right in front of you drowning her own pool of blood. With what little life remaining in her, she instinctively holds the gaping slash at her neck. Words and gurgles of blood tangle together forming an unintelligent gibberish.

But most importantly, you are holding your master. It is more than satisfied from your last deed. It slumbers for now. The black silk on the floor shrivels till it vanishes from existence, you have no idea how to conceal your master anymore.

St-stop! he is NOT your master. You have a free will. FREE WILL.

There HAS to be a way to save her. Either you nor her are bound to the mundane laws of nature or Death.

Your eyes widened, skimming through the array of old books and tombs for just the right thing to trigger your lost memory.

'Sanguine Memoirs by Robertso Vangale'

Blood, especially human blood, is not favorable in Alchemy since it is normally associated with... less than legal acts. And yet it possess some unique Statis properties

With the Kotella's knife, you cut yourself for a few drops of blood mixing it with hers.

Unlike Void chalk circles, Sanguine circles are awfully unstable . Mixing Blood is one way of strengthen the circle.

It was hastily drawn but it will do. The Cor Unum circle should be trap her soul in this limbo status.

The circle struggles to register you as its master. It is filled with fear, Mieglo's fear . Yet you bend it to your will in mere seconds

1/2
>>
>>2408335
You transmit your thoughts to the circle. Mieglo's now unconscious body starts to twitch uncontrollably until a red blazing orb emerges from her chest.

This is her soul.

Like a moth drawn to the flames, her souls drifts toward the heart of the circle then it abruptly stops. Now you have some sufficient time to think on how to fix her body...before it rots of course.

You have a couple of options. Each is equally risky.

The most obvious one is to create a powerful regenerative potion. But there is a catch; these potions ONLY works where there is a soul bound to the body. So even if you made the best thing there is, you must put her soul back again and wish it won't depart while potion is working.

The second option is to create a Homunculus using her blood, Then you would have to either sacrifice it or convince it to be sacrificed. This is risky because this creation can easily overcome you . It will be also born with innate fear of you.

The third option way much easier, just create any Homunculus and insert her soul in it. But you have a feeling she won't like it. No one will.

The fourth option is to summon a Demon It is said that when someone die, his soul shall ascend to the stars but the tainted ones like you and her shall have a different fate; Their soul shall sink to the depth of the earth for eternal damnation. However, some powerful souls do manage to climb back up from the fiery depths of earth...

These are demons.

They are powerful entities with masterful skills. Now to think of it, This K individual who have aided you might as well be a demon. You can try to summon one for an easy fix to her body but there are two problems to said solution:

They are extremely unpredictable; one can demand an apple while another can demand the souls of everyone you love and cherish. The second problem is in the act itself. It is illegal....Around here at least.

The dagger remains silent yet you can sense its desire to consume this delicious soul...Its...so....

what the other anons voted for depends on how intelligent her blood Homunculus turns out
>>

>>2408754
Before anything, you managed to collect all of her blood in a couple of vials. You have less than two days to save her body.

Before committing to anything just yet, you recall more general rules about Conjuring a Homunculus:

-Homuncului rite is pretty much akin to any transmutation rite. For the most part is has the same. There is an extra process which is used more often: Quebirth which is originally a sub-process of Citrinitas. It revolves about the amplification of your ingredients. otherwise, you will wind up with a tiny sized Homunculus. Some circles or Alchemical ingredients shortens or even bypass said process. Furthermore, It governs the age and the mentality of the Homunculus with a child being the easiest and an adult being the hardest.

-Unless you are using an advanced circle and utilizing high quality ingredients, NEVER try to mix three or more different ingredients; the end result will be a total failure and a waste of resources.

X+X+X=OK
X+X+Y=OK
X+Y+Z= NOT OK

-Human blood is usually inserted as an addendum to make the Homunculus believe that it is the son/daughter of the blood donor. This does not count as an ingredient since it is added via Nodes in small amounts. however, in your case. It is impossible to do so since blood will already make a huge portion of the rite which after the scarifice, will yield what you need to heal the wound AND resupply her with new blood.

-Human flesh, teeth, hair , skin and bones are illegal as ingredients . Only blood is allowed (but not favored).

-Liquid, gaseous , Ethereal and Immaterieum (kind of impossible though) materials are advised not to be the sole ingredient for a Homunculus. A solid base is usually preferred in the mix to give the Homunculus some form. In this case, the best candidate is swine flesh since it is the closest to human flesh so either:

Blood+Blood+Flesh
OR
Flesh+Flesh+Swine

-A colourless soul is a MUST to give the Homunculus. Otherwise, you are just brewing another potion. Thankfully, it appears that there is already one at hand.

>>2408904
Blood+blood+flesh
flesh+flesh+blood
i mean that, sorry.
>>
>>2408832
>>2408684
>>2408638

-Sacrifices are strongly tied to how much experience the Homunculus had in its lifetime as a pseudo-human since the colourless soul affect the corporal vessel they are in. Strong emotions (be it good or bad) mature the soul and in turn the remnants of the homunculus after the sacrifice.

These are the very basics rules. Of course some are meant to be broken. In your current state, you don't recall some of them.

Before anything, you must ready yourself mentally. Which method are you going to use?

>Aggressive approach, you don't need to 'talk' to that pitiful thing, you will kill it the moment it spawns
>Persuasive approach, With your tongue, you will convince your creation to lay its life for the woman you are trying to say
>Deceptive approach, Lure that thing with nice words and smooth moves before a quick jab to the heart. [probably won't work]

The least thing you can do for Mieglo is to risk your life for her. That means you that you will be Unarmed while creating this Homunculus.

Time for work

____________

The night beckons father than you would have thought. Good. You feel more safe under the cover of the night. All the initial preparations are done. Thankfully, there are some stored meat a small pantry. Nothing is left but to choose a circle or the amount of ingredients to add.

A flesh based Homunculus will probably be more bulky and animal-like. its healing yield might not be as much as the blood based thought but you doubt it would be as intelligent. On a side note, its flesh will be more than luxurious meal if curated properly.

A blood based Homunculus will probably be more amorphous and nimble. The sentient blood will radiate great fear of its spiller but its yield will be more helpful to you.

Utero Mortuus circle should do it, it is a modified blood circle with an anchor which stabilizes the circle. It also possess an Auxilla which will greatly help you in Quebirth process. The drawback is minor difficulties in other process

Naturally, you will have to use her blood for the Circle leaving you with enough amount for the rite itself. You got only a couple of hours left.

You put in the ingredients in their designated spot. Time to start the rite.

You got
-Blood (Liquid)
-Blood (Liquid)
-Swine Flesh (Solid)

The state of the ingredients will affect the final product, you kept that in mind.

Nigredo went more than well, the circle is stable... the anchor is doing its job. you send all the ingredient to what lies beyond. Moments pass before you can hear the Vocalles

It sings to you, Like a mother to her child. Soothing solitude floating under the concept of prosperity.

An astounding success

The ingredients return once more in their new state. You can sense their yearn for the colourless soul outside of the circle. You had already collected it from the hollowed Homunculus in the study room. It idly float in its void glass container waiting for the first vessel to inhabit.

You take a deep breath, preparing for Albedo process. Unlike void circles, Blood circles does not produce either Mallum Prima or Mallum Secundus. Any waste is forever gone .

The purification progress didn't go as planned. The ingredients remain heavy with impurities. The success of Nigredo averted a looming catastrophe. You had to keep in mind that Rubedo process shall be even harder thanks to these impurities.

A mild failure

You proceed to the third process, Citrinitas. This rebirth process shall prove to be more than pivotal in the rite. Unlike normal Transmutation process, the rebirth Immaterium will not turn to the most dominant state . It will form a crude body of the Homunculus of various states according to ingredients used.

It is possible to disconnect from the circle briefly, without any control, the circle will either plunge into chaos creating an abomination or it will simply disassemble. The Stability of the circle determines how long can it last without its master.

With less than a minute to spare, you transfer the colourless soul into the heart of the circle. This is the core of the Homunculus . Let's the rebirth begin...

The rebirth was almost flawless despite its impurities. A tiny creature wiggles in the heart of the circle, it has no definite features as it should be.

Quebirth process is next, To achieve the best results, you have to match as many things as you can like the gender, the age, the general shape of the body and its intelligence and behavior (to some extent).

The circle gives you a vivid outline of the amplified Homunculus. you can leave it as it is if you want but it is not advisable.

Sanguine slime
Gender: None

Size: Slightly larger than a normal adult

Age: Child

Mentality/Intelligence: Sentient, Below average, primal.

You managed only to change her gender and age. The rest remains as it is as far as you know. The crude hand part of the anchor did its best to help you.

Mild Success

The entity inside the circle took its first unconscious breath, it starts to twitch like an unborn child. The void flesh starts to form a pseudo malleable skeleton while some chunks floats idly inside this coagulated mass. Her right arm constant shifts to pointy masses. That is a concern.

You are so close now. Only Rubedo process remains. Homunculus reshaping is very similar to transmutation reshaping. You can add either a simple or a complex property but it must comply to the body of the Homunculus; for an example, you can't make a water based Homunculus breathes fire BUT you can make it resist freezing. However it is very demanding, failure can creature faulty abominations.

>Initiate the final reshaping [D22]
>Initiate the final reshaping with Simple/complex properties [specify then add the cost to d22]

Addition cost

simple property : 10
Complex property : 20
>>
>>2410858
If we sabotage it, IE give it a simple property of [no-cohesion] so it annihilates itself, do we have enough material to try again with a new homunculus?
>>
>>2410870
nope, we can't extract more blood. we poured all in on the circle and the Homunculus itself.

It is also plausible to add bad properties but this will also give us a worse yield.
>>
>>2410876
Kind of reaching for this one but, how about [shapeshifting] as complex property to counteract its nightmare inducing form? Would that be possible?
>>
>>2410879
Well, it is both intelligent (so some extent) and amorphous, so in theory, it is plausible.

by shapeshifting, she will be able to take the form of lets say a chair. this 'chair' will appear red and gooy so it is no mimicry. if you sit on it, you will sink in

She slowly slithers away from the wall, you offer zero resistance against this notion. You silently follow her trail. She explores the house stopping on random intervals. She stood still for quite some time at the study room. None had said anything.

Your dagger, which was silent this whole time, starts to scream in agony. Strange, it wasn't directed to you at all...

It was directed to the Homunculus

The Homunculus stops at a single room at the farthest end of the first floor, it has a strong charred iron door with licks black soot it the edges.

"I...Pointy no kill me easy. Smash no kill me easy. very hot and very cold can." ah, so this is the furnace room.

"Thank you. Farewell Papa"
Beth positions itself in the middle of the furnace room standing above a large tray meant for such occasion, this should make collecting it remnants much easier.

The furnace was already fueled, all you had to do is to light it up and watch Beth slowly melting to nothingness.

You feel nothing, it is foolish to invest in these creations. they are nothing but either tools or a walking livestocks to be harvested. There is no need to remind yourself of that.

After cooling down, you managed to collect this bubbling red puddle. This Crimson Balm should be sufficient to fully heal Mieglo's corpse. You add a bit of cold water to make it less viscous.

Sadly Crimson Balm has a short shelfspan and it only works on the person whose blood is in the mixture. So it is not that useful in the market.

Everything is ready, you head upstairs. This shouldn't take too long. You apply the Balm to the wound, it heals right away. As for the blood itself, The Balm has to be directly applied over the heart and so you undress her just enough to expose her chest.

There is little time for formalities or courtesies ,The Balm only goes through the skin of its blood owner, like molten butter, it disappears upon contact. You made sure to massage the heart area only; you don't want to have unnecessary new blood in unneeded areas.

Then came the final part, inserting her soul back again. With great care, you break the blood circle holding it before slowly returning the soul back to its owner.

It is done.

Her fingers twitch, a faint breath escapes her lips. She is alive but it will take a while for the soul to un-limbo itself.

Exhausted both physically and mentally, you lean on a nearby chair, slowly drifting to sleep.

Your dagger was no where to be seen yet you can feel this...bond between you two. It is down stairs is some dark confinement. Maybe this is for the best but you can't shake this feeling that is not the right way to do it.

The large wooden door slowly opens revealing mieglo in a clean blood-free robe. She looks....shaken with skin paler than your. The woman stroke her non existent wound, you may have left no physical scar but the mental scar will not go away.

"I...I don't know what to say....may be i should kill you, may be not." Fragile words escapes her lips.

Maybe try and streamline alchemy so its easier to vote on options. Oh and a character sheet would be helpful.

also to be clear, We are supposedly a skillful Alchemist. The more rites we achieve, the more we will start to recall some of our memories.
