One day you accidentally find /qst/ on 4chan. You think the board is pretty gay at first but after some time lurking you start to enjoy it and after a stroke of autism you decide to make your own quest. Why not after all, you are a worthless neet.

You sit down and write up a bit of lore and pick out a system to use, there are many to choose from on the net. You don't want to work yourself to the bone since its your 1st quest so you decide 10 minutes is enough. Your fantasy quest will be very Tolkien/DnD but you plan to wing some lore elements to make it unique when it comes up.

You spend about 50 min working on a little doodle for your opening post, its a pretty generic knight looking at a castle. You have some mild artistic skills.

How much control did you decide to give people on character creation?
>full control
>mild control
>no control

Did you want to make this a drawquest? It will take much more time between updates and effort. You are also pretty shy about your art.
>draw quest
>write quest

Also roll a 3 sided dice to decide how many people show up to your 1st post.

Wow, three people showed up to your quest! You are pretty exited you really didn't expect anything. Choosing to give some mild control to your players they create
roll(girl1/2 - boy 3)

They decide it should be a simple warrior. Nice, you can draw that all day.

How do you want to progress, you really haven't spent enough time preparing for this so maybe its best to just let them do what ever? You are not very well prepared to lean into an interesting story.

The middle road is the best you decide and let them do what ever they want, your plan is to just make what ever mundane thing they try to do interesting by using it to jump off a side quest. You dont give any prompts and leave their choices open ended.

Quickly enough one player decide to go to a brothel and get laid and another player quickly backs him up, while your third player suggests "looking around town". Hmmm, what do you do in this situation?

>go to the brothel
>ignore the majority vote and look around town

This is a blue board not akun. If they want lewds they have to work for it.

What is point of a quest if you ignore your players? If your players wanted to read a novel they would do that instead of pretending to have an influence.

The majority rules... You end up drawing some pretty ettchi images and you cant help getting embarrassed. You hope your dad doesn't see what you're using his scanner for... You don't directly draw a sex scene but you write some petty smutty stuff and upload your saucy image. Hoping it doesn't set the wrong tone for your quest, you're not on akun after all!

roll(1 = lose your none lewd poster, 2 = lose nothing)

You decide to try and railroad a bit to get the players out of the brothel so you have someone steal the plays equipment while he is busy. The players take the bait and chase after her. After they catch up to her you decide to...

Smut or lewd is rare.
Written smut is technically fine, I believe, but I've never seen it done so I can't tell you how it would be accepted.
Only thing I've ever seen a Mod do here was delete non-quest threads, and that took over a day.
We mostly self regulate and akun has far more players for lewd QMs, hence we don't really see much.

This time you decide to really give it your all, you write out a few possible scenarios and expand on your world building. You center your world building on just the town the player will start in, then you fill it with characters and give them things to be doing before the player character arrives. Some time on foogle helps expand your knowledge on peasant life. After two hours you are ready.

You decide on a fantasy drawquest, you have a little bit of experience with this.

You get 2 players with (unknown) affinity and both of them create two characters that are completely different, one wants to play a tomboy female human ranger and the other wants to play a smug male elf wizard. You decide to wing it and use both player characters, using your sandboxing experience to come out with a interesting curse gimmick for your quest on the spot. You make sure that everyone understands that you are not doing some mass character quest and these two will be your PCs. This seems to go well as you gain another player (+1 "good" player).

Now that you have your characters and something for them to do your players take the bait and start walking around town looking for someone that may remove the curse. You adapt this into your story and have some witch offer them a quest in exchange for information.

1-4 the players accept the quest and everything goes well.
5 the players do something completely unexpected.

The witch may have won but you are not a sadist QM, you decide to just have them be knocked out and thrown into the witches dungeon. The game must follow the dice and the players must know that there are consequences to their actions, so you slap ANOTHER curse on them. You don't know how to use the coffee machine but you do know how to boil water, so you settle with a nice cup of tea. After you head back to your room and start working on a COLOR drawing, you scan your artwork and download gimp since it free. You spend 3x as much time on this image as you normally do but you're not sure if it even looks any better or that anyone will even appreciate it honestly.
1 = no extra posters
2 = 1 extra poster

youre pretty tired but you upload your image and start your quest.

did you
>Start rail roading an escape for your quest immediately
>Sand box and let your players do random, and ultimately pointless, stuff in their cell so you can simulate the passage of time.

also roll a d3 to see how many players we got today. 1 poster came back from yesterday and we may get another from your sweet image.

You decide a railroad is in order, so you pop a dwarf out of the ground. The dwarf is some resistance member looking to get back at the witch and the players follow him. With nothing left to do you wait to see how your players will react.

>1: They do something retarded again
>2-3: They decide to get vengeance on the witch
>4-5: They decide to fuck the whole thing and leave town
>6: The (you)s come in very slow so you decide to check out the qst general to kill some time

Perfect, the ideal quest has no railroading but the players choose to do what you want them to anyway. As you are drawing out your next sequence your phone rings. Its one of your few friends, they don't call very much anymore and you are on the fence about talking to them.

Its you total chic friend Jensa, she is calling to see if you want to hangout right now! She has work later tonight so this would be a great time to meet up since you don't get to see each other very much.

Jensa has always been good to you, unfortunately you don't really have ANYTHING in common so its very hard to make conversation with her. Yet for some reason she is always happy to see you and is the friend that calls you the most often even though you don't understand why.

You decide to bail on your quest in favor of seeing your RL friend, with the abandoning of your 1st thread and now skipping town on your players only a few posts in you are starting to get a reputation as a pretty "flaky" DM. Yikes!

On the flip side you get to see your friend, you spend about one hour getting ready then walk down to the local cafe where you're supposed to meet your friend. You spot her but who is that guy sitting with her?? She didnt say anything about other people...

You walk up to them and your friend spots you instantly, giving you the standard girl greeting of hugs and compliments. You are at an awkwardness level of 6, if you go over 10 you will do something REALLY embarrassing. She introduces you to the guy sitting at the table, he nodes at you but doesn't look up from his phone, he has a smile on his face thought. Apparently this is a friend of Jensas that she forgot to tell you about.

you chit chat a bit, mostly about her, and she asks you really awkward questions like what have you been doing? where are you working? You hate these type of questions and try to side step them unsuccessfully.
+1 awkwardness.
At this point small talk is over and you have no clue what the fuck to talk about but its clearly your turn to speak

You decide to talk about movies, normies like movies right? You don't really watch hollywoods stuff anymore but they probably do. Your friend talks about a movie she really liked called "The Handmaiden". You know this one, its a korean movie that actually made it to cinema overseas. She goes on about how it had lesbians in it and how she LOVES stuff with lesbians in it and how progressive they must be in korea.Your friend asks you if you have seen "old boy", a movie she plans to watch. You have also seen this one but its pretty graphic.

do you ...
>lie and say you never seen it to avoid talking about it
>tell her all about it to drain away more time

After that she says that "Chet" loves the new marvel movies! And how you should tell him all about your comic book collection! You used to love all that superhero stuff right?

do you...

>talk about your hobby

You tell her all aboutOld Boy. You start out by explaining how much you loved the movie, then go into the gritty details about how some guy gets tricked into fucking his own daughter. Unfortunately with your awkwardness at a high 7 you were unable to avoid spoiling the story. Your friend keeps it cool but decides not to watch the movie while Chet comments "you LIKE those kind of movies?"
+ 1 Awkwardness

With a Awkwardness at a HIGH 8 you are unable to avoid talking about your hobby, the only thing left to decide is

Loving superhero stuff has potential for autism, but randomly saying we hate something that Chad likes is probably going to give us more Awkwardness. If we get to 9, all we have to do is excuse ourselves to go to the bathroom and then bail.

They are not even listening. All and all you managed to kill 15 fucking minutes. This happens every time you hang out with Jensa but she STILL calls you all the time to hang out WTF. Inside youre getting annoyed and angry but on the outside you wear a mask, one that you have built over the 20 years of your life and that you don't let anyone ever see you without.

This doesn't seam to work, Jensa presses on you with this.
Besides, I don't want her to just leave Chet by himself
But this does, as Chet himself interjects and agrees that it would be too far out of the way for him.

Jensa seems pretty sad that you have to leave already and urges you to call and text her more often, she knows how introverted you can be but good friends are hard to come by.

Wow that was a close call
