Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=stranded+mech+quest

Information pastebin: https://pastebin.com/vSXCNHAQ

You are Captain Alex, Proxima Aquarii Federation, 4th Fringe Machine Infantry. (Also now posing as Miriam Arteth) When heading to a routine exercise, you and your mech ended up somewhere other than outside the backwater base on a polluted world you called home.

(You are also Crew Boss Levi, a mechanic in charge of repairs to Alex's mech. After finally reuniting with Alex, you see he is, in fact, still an idiot.)

Now you're stuck in a world that's verdant, green, and full of life, where people use 'magic' and gods rule. You were pretty sure it was a sophisticated LARPer's personal planet, but Mirna, from the Apha Centauri Conglomerate has stated otherwise.

You are an ace pilot, the elite of mech operators, and you pilot the Newt, a durable and quick military mech. You can't seem to use up your ammo. You have three crewmates, Hilda, a convicted witch, and Seirye, an elven mechanic who has spent her life without free will.

Through some twist of fate, you are currently a hivemind with a version of yourself that appears normal. You have recently summoned your mechanic, Levi, over to help. They have arrived in another mech. You have recently recovered and secured the colony of Port Haller. Currently your childlike form has been kidnapped and brought to the Arteth household, where you were mistaken for the missing Miriam Arteth. Upon touching a pendant, you have obtained Miriam's skills, memories and thoughts... And bloodline. You absolutely must not be found out.

>continuing
>>
>>2396824
You follow Miriam's memory to deal with this situation.

>control switched to Levi.
The elevator music of the dwarven DMV is rather annoying. They are at 300 on the waiting list. (your number is 340)

The radio crackles, "Levi?"
It's Alex again, possibly with an update, "talk to me."
"I am... taking a bath. The young me, that is. That locket you got me filled my head with memories of someone called Miriam... I think it changed my genetic markers too."
What? Oh god all this magic shit is going to give you a headache.
"Okay, so what's the situation?"
"Miriam is... nobility under the Arteth family... and she has a maid, a few maids. And if I get found out I might get mindwiped... But if I act like Miriam I can feel myself slipping. But only in that body."
You pause a bit, "Just that body, right? You're connected, though, right?"
"Yeah?"
"It sounds like you don't lose anything if you did let it slip to me..."
There's silence on the other end.

"330." it looks like your number is coming up soon.

With nothing else to do here you activate your bracer and play DOOM. Doing this you manage to waste a great deal of time before you are finally called to the office.

You enter the office of the dwarven Director of Trade. The room is stark and stifling, with a drop ceiling and light that flicker in the corners of your eyes.

"You wish to discus something regarding trade?" The dwarf, a bespectacled old buerecrat, hunched over his desk asks you.

"Yes, I represent Port Haller, a recently established town in the Unknown Lands."

The Dearf ponders, "Dangerous locale. And what are you offering?"
"well, we would be willing to trade some mech patterns and architectural knowledge, but we need workers."
"Well, workers are in no short supply here...so you want to take out an ad?" The dwarf's fingers mesh as he sits opposite you, silently judging.
"If that's what I can do, yes."
"Very well, I will file your request and it will be brought up in the next board meeting. Please send someone in... oh, about a week." The dwarf nods, extending a hand. You shake it before he shoos you from the room.

"Thank you for your time... Next one please!"
You are left standing outside the door with a card and a paper containing your request and a case number.

Alex has finished bathing.

Alex informs you that the bath is finished. Strange, it's rare he sounds scared.

Through some miraculous feat, without any prior training or skill, you make a fireball appear in the air... There is a feeling of excitement at having brute-forced your way into obtaining a new spell. A new frontier!

>You learned Small Fireball - an offensive magic spell taught to children with magical aptitude.

Alex informs you that the maid is trying to get him to choose clothing.

You wished you had some way to look badass, since you just thought up magic on your own... But then you realize that kind of pointless stuff is what makes Alex do... well, Alex things...

You wave farewell to the dockmaster and move the hummingbird out, back into the skies.

Right, orcs.

You spot what appears to be a farmhouse, and move in. The mech lands in the untilled dirt before the farmhouse, the residents moving about warily. You see a crude mech firing up behind the building.

"aight, flyboy, whatcha want with us?" One of the burly humanoids asks you.
"I"m from a town to the south. We're hiring. Need some guys in manual labor or farming."
"South? Ain't that where iceworms lurk?" the orc asks.
"I understand they've become more reasonable lately."
"I know nothin 'bout that. Now, my boys ere, I got three who'll be gettin that age ta set out on their own." He points towards a crude truck with rather massive wheels, "Had a truck all worked out fer em, but ifn ya want farmers, that'd solve the whole lookin for land issue."
"We'd be glad to have them. Do you need directions there?"
"Maybe, if ya got a map, be best." The farmer nods.
You look to the navigation console, there's a small replica printout option. Adjusting the map framing, you place the region you are in to the island on the map and produce a plastic copy.

The hummingbird mech kneeling, you hand the map over to the orc farmer.

"Give the boys a few days. They'll be there. I'll put in word to da traders if ya want ta spread news to other orcs 'bout yer need for workers."
You nod in thanks before taking off.

You've done your tasks, all there is now is to explore or wait, although Alex will probably want to explore the mountains with you. You could also head home.

You fly over to the glacier, touching down on the ice. After a few moments of stomping, an iceworm bursts forth from the ground. She regards you.

"You're not zomeone I know..." A humanoid form within the massive maw states, "vho are you?"
"Levi. I'm part of a new town to the south of here. We are going to have orcs come through... We don't want them eaten." You announce.
The worm grins, "Orcz? I hope you don't mind iv ve... extract a toll vrom zhem." She licks her lips, you don't want to think about what sort of toll she's after.
"Fine, just don't harm them or rob them." You groan, your mech lifting off, "otherwise we might have issues."

You fly back to the colony, landing in the town center. The Admiral strolls up to you.

"Welcome back, Levi. That pirate of yours has been training to determine a proper role... Those mercenaries are better fighters, though we're working on refining their fighting form... I was thinking of giving them basic mech operation training, like that elf."
"Well, we will be getting a few orcs to add to our workers..."
"Orcs? What sort of work?" Haller rubs his chin, thinking.
"Well, they are farmers."
"Ah, agriculture then... Good, some diversity in our food stores will be welcomed... I take it they will probably need some basic understanding of the greenhouses?"
You shrug. Farming and food aren't really your thing, "Do you know how they work?"
"I need to know basic tasks for all roles on my ship... So a bit... If not I can access more instructions in the database."
You nod, "Thank you, Admiral." Next you move to the building where Alex is... pulling him from the building.

"I need to meet with a priest of some type over there..." Alex warns
"Fantastic. We're going to find that communication god in the mountains."
"Ah? Alright, just... remember the Meran empire wants me dead."

You nod, climbing back into the hummingbird. As Alex gets in behind you, the thought arises... Seirye probably needs proper mechanical training... it might take a while... best do it later.

Regardless, you take off for the mountains, in search of the communication god shrine.

You head back to the colony. There is a lot of training that has to be done, which will be tedious to say the least. Regardless, you split up between tasks, taking Seirye under your wing while Alex heads to the training grounds.

The mech from Mirna has been dragged to the outer wall, with a bit of effort, you get it up in the rigging.

There repairs will take easily several weeks.
>Alex and Levi are now occupied. You will be informed when their tasks are completed.

>Switching to Small Alex(Miriam)

>-5 san

You'd gone autopilot while you focused in the mountains, and while it allowed you to operate as if separate. Unfortunately, Miriam's mind wasn't good at assertion in situations where the mood was tense, and you basically got dragged along by Valentina. Your hair was done up in massive curls, (which took the most time) and you were pretty much forced into this frilly and restrictive dress.

A routine Miriam knew well.

Valentina had just finished giving you an extensive and uncomfortable introduction to makeup that you mercifully didn't have to apply yourself...

And now it was time to leave the room.

You shoes clacked on carved marble floors, stone walls with paneling and wallpapering, depicting grand battles... ones with a few mechs in the image. It looked old too. You are led to a massive ballroom staircase, heading downstairs to the bottom. Skylights cast sun in, an odd blueish tint... looking up, you can see the shimmering blue barrier... Rain seems to fall through it, pattering on the glass.

Below lies your- Miriam's parents. You reach the bottom as the front doors open. Maids bow on either side as a man enters in white robes... And someone else...

A man in armor, with glasses. As soon as his eyes catch you, you can see a grin... the sort of entitled grin of someone spoiled and perverted. Even your Miriam-based thoughts respond in revulsion.

"High priest," Lord Arteth bows, you and lady Arteth have to follow suit, "Who is your companion?"
The high priest smiles, "Ah, this is Mera's champion. A hero known as Daichi."
"A pleasure to meet the esteemed Arteths," Daichi bows, "What a cute loli you have for a daughter... Has she already been betrothed?"

It catches everyone offguard but you. They don't get the word that he said, only the question of betrothal.

"No, champion. She is still a child." Lord Arteth smiles, "Far too young for a champion such as you."
Daichi only smiles. You suppress the need to shudder.

The priest moves before you, "I will now look for traces of witchcraft within your daughter."

Fucking gross. What else is he greasy? Pimply faced? Smell of BO? If it weren't for his BS cheat magic I'd hit him with something dangerous.

Holy fuck they got an actual neet pervert for a hero. How the fuck is Mera still alive in this incarnation?

And the roll. If we loose to much san the hero may get the body.

and if we fail the roll -like you just did- we're gonna get mind wiped and suffer a greater sanity penalty.
>>

We might loose either way, one is a guarantee though, and that's the one god wants. Also fuck the priest and the neet wonder. We might roped into his bullshit fetish aura if we go along with the little girl voice for to long. Or too often for that matter.

You slip into Miriam's thoughts to bypass the priest. You don't want to deal with this, you(miriam) just wanted and adventure, is that so wrong? The priest is scary as his hand passes over your head, his lips mumbling, but he never touches you. After what seems a long time, he withdraws his hand.

"I can no longer sense the taint of witchcraft upon her mind. She is free of the foul magics."
"Oh, thank you, holy one." Lady Alicia quickly offers her gratitude.
"There there, lady. The church is always willing to help... I do believe we are not too late, Lord Arteth?"
"Not at all, we will be having dinner soon." He motions to the maids something, "Is the hero joining us?"
"But of course." The priest responds.
"I thought it would be wise to mingle. I've already made ties with several houses." Daichi responds. It's a sort of... cockiness that you know all too well... the same sort a shy pilot can get after a few kills, where they think themselves unstoppable.

"Ties? You mean your party? Aren't they all women?" Lord Arteth asks, beginning to lead everyone to the dining hall.
"I think it would do well to add the blood of a hero to a few family lines, don't you?" Daichi retorts, "Always room for more in my party, too."
Lord Arteth turns to the group and motions to the seats. There are several, and the priest takes the head of the table. You are put beside it, in Miriam's seat.

What little you know of Meran society, you do know that Daichi's harem is an anomaly. Apparently outsiders summoned by Mera are allowed to follow their ancient traditions regarding marriage, as it is a one-time thing... But nobility should consider it abhorrent.

...Come to think of it, Lord Arteth seems to be getting annoyed at Daichi. He's good at hiding it, but you(Miriam) know it all too well.

Get our parents out of earshot and tell them to be wary of this Daichi person. Also, try to see if his sword is anything like the one the real Miriam got turned into.
>>
>>2412877
This, but we try to actually act like a scared little girl and be as convincing as possible.

I bet at least more than half the people part of his party are starting to get tired of his cocked attitude and pedo-ness. Probably in it for that bloodline. Sex (if any) I imagine is below average. God I wonder what his friend is doing.

I swear if he tries to put on some moves and kiss mini me we should blind him with a ball of light and sock him in the jewels.
>>
>>2412743
Ask him about all the 'heroic stuff he's done since he was summoned by the goddess. Ask if he can show us some of his fighting techniques. It's not our of character since Miriam likes adventure.
