It's up you to caretaker bro.
>keep them alive
We could always keep them alive until the next batch then cook the adults after the chicks matured enough.

Might be nice to have fresh meat as opposed to lab grown and living test subjects for studying the nene.

Are you gonna archive your thread QM?

IMO they would delete the quest off of suptg. I’ll definitely archive this one though.

You decide to keep the Nene alive for cattle. The vault dwellers will enjoy the option of meat. Though genetic diversity will be an issue for the nene offspring.

The 180 colonists are prepared to go outside, where will you send them?
>establish farming colony in the plains outside Mililani

If you choose two or more put the amount of colonists sent.
>>
>>2404191
>establish a salvaging outpost+small colony in Mililani
>establish farming colony in the plains outside Mililani
The outpost+colony combo will consist of fourth of the settlers and fifteen protectrons. The colony in the plains outside of Mililani will consist of eighty colonists and twenty protectrons. Gotta keep the monster at bay.

The colonists were trained right? How to fight, survive, hold a gun and not shoot their feet off?
>>
>>2404313
The salvaging colony in Mililani will consist of 45 colonists and 15 protectrons. The plains colony will consist of 80 colonists and 20 protectrons. There are 55 colonists left to distribute.
>>
>>2404313
The colonists were given the same training as the scouts.
>>
>>2404351
I'd like to give Pearl City one more scouting trip. How's the shoulder now after medical treatment? Can we break down the sword to make other swords or Chinese combat swords or daggers? Can we break down a laser rifle to figure out how to make more?
>>
>>2404351
Why is the submarine colony at 16? I thoughts sent 20. Did 4 of them die on the way there?
>>
>>2404548
Four were killed by the Nene.
>>2404402
How many scouts will you take? There are 17 left not including you.

Laser Rifles can be assembled but the vault doesn’t have the parts. With the Chinese sword, no one in the vault has enough skill to make one. If you were to break it down it would just be metal.
>>
>>2404670
what about the 10mm pistol, submachine gun, the .44 revolver, the 9mm pistol or the shotgun? can we make ammo?

lets take six scouts with us to pearl city plus two protectrons, a pair of laser rifles with two cells each, and the rest with the submachine guns. We'll carry a 10mm pistol because of the accuracy penalty and scarcity of 9mm ammo and the chinese sword.
>>
>>2404788
You leave with six experienced scouts. They knew what to expect in the wasteland but not in Pearl City. On the way there you talk about the Burned Men and the way they acted. You are
unsure if you would get as lucky as to get their guard down again. It was midday when you reached the wall of cars around the city. There seems to be no guard around.

You follow the wall looking for an entrance. No guards have shown up since you got here but they are sure to turn up. Eventually there is a break in the line of cars with a wood board covering the hole. You move the board out of the way and enter the city. The vault dwellers with you have never seen anything like this and you haven’t either, not from this position anyways. The taller buildings had collapsed and the whole city had a slightly charred texture. There still is no one in sight, how will you proceed?

An anon mentioned this in the last thread. We have some different versions of post apocalyptic Hawaii but it’s pretty cool that we both picked the exact same island for our quests. It’s a good read but don’t forget about mine!
>>
>>2405744
You skirt around the walls of the city. You haven’t been spotted. You can hear voices echoing all the way from the heart of the city. You see now that the city is located on a slight plateau with the wall lining the edge. The houses on the edge of the city were once probably the homes of the more wealthy citizens of Pearl City but were now abandoned. The luxuries of a hundred years ago didn’t stack up to todays needs. The holotape players were left as junk in the streets. Refrigerators were turned out, canned food removed and the rest left to rot. Televisions had their screens smashed in for fun and insides scraped. Scorched books were burned for warmth. Skeletons and bones were scattered every once and a while with their only uniform feature being the bullet hole in the skull. The burned men really did know how to live, and die.

We should consider raiding the Leeward College ammo depot, we’re dangerously low on supplies and these Burned Men don’t seem very civilized nor friendly. Judging by their lax security, we might even be able to completely loot the building and leave before anyone notices.

“It’s a city dipshit, stop poking me!”
“How do you get by in Pearl City?”
“We grow food and shoot all outsiders, guess we missed some.”
“Why do you shoot outsiders?”
“So that shit like this doesn’t happen, quit that!”
“What other settlements are on the island?”
“The only ones I know about is Pearl City and Honolulu.”
“What’s Honolulu like?”
“Full of Chinese rape babies from the war. We used to fight them but not anymore.”

“My name? Burned men call me easy, short for Ezekiel”
“How old are you?”

“It’s in the name, we were burned by the nuclear fire. ‘Lucky’ enough to not turn into those other things.”

Alright, you think the first thread is a bit bad, that's a good reason.
Except that it's the first thread of a quest i'm assuming you're gonna continue writing, even if it had a rocky start you should archive it so anons of the future can read all the threads of your quest and see how it had progressed from the very first thread.
>>
>>2408719
I'm still a little antsy about this. What if we take somewhere more neutral? We can talk business at one of the walls with just me and Mr. Haile. my guys at a distance and your guys from a distance. That fair?
>>
>>2408719
Here’s my idea, we’re gonna hold on to Easy for now. If he doesn’t like it, he can catch a bullet right now if he prefers. We’re gonna clear out their ammo depot, if this Robert Haile is serious about having peaceful relations either he or a representative will meet us near Waipahu in two days. We’ll release Easy back to deliver our terms once we’ve made a clean exit. Anyone else we encounter on the college campus that gets in our way can join him as our temporary guest. Once/if we’re comfortable after making contact we can talk about potentially returning the ammo or opening up trade. If we get no response or no one shows up we’ll take it as a sign that they’re a hostile settlement.
Tell Ezekiel we’d prefer a peaceful relationship with Pearl City, however what we’ve seen of them hasn’t inspired confidence in their word.

They’ve tried to rob/disarm us twice and based off the general squalor I get the impression they’re not angels, but perhaps they’re not devils necessarily.
Let’s take the following days to prepare the meeting ground and ensure we have an escape route and ambush plan if they show up wanting to start trouble.

We need to avoid drawing attention to the Millani settlement nor reveal the location of the vault. One distinct advantage we have over the Burned Men is that we know where most of them are located.
>>
>>2409003
None of that is very diplomatic....especially the ammo part where we might return it. The first time I thought we could make an easy excuse, like how were were low on ammo and expected to fight our way through more monsters, but now seems a little excessive.

What I can understand is taking Easy with us to the gate, then releasing him to go tell their boss that we have such and such ammo and will return it as "this" location or we keep it as an ultimate.

Actually that too isn't very diplomatic either, bit I feel that's the closest either of us may come to an agreement. Remember we killed six or so of their gus and stole a bunch of our ammo. There's only so much these centuries old ghouls can tolerate before we become vilified and they start a war with us.

>>2408719
Make it clear to Easy that what we do isn't out of malice or hate, but fear and caution. No hard feelings?
>>
>>2408744
The other deal is that I can’t archive it. I’m writing this on mobile and I can’t download the things that it requires. If you want to you could do it, I think it’s still up on the internal archive. Not many people are following this thread anyways.

“Easy, I will do the first part of your deal but you will do the second part of mine. You are going to tell Robert Haile to meet me at Waipahu. He can bring all the men he wants but I’m gonna bring all of mine. When he gets here we both will differentiate ourselves from our people, and step forward so that if there is any shot from either side we both will be in the line of fire.”

“I don’t know if he will agree to that.”

“You’ll see to it that he does.”

You took Easy with you all the way to the wall. When you crossed over you let him loose. You set up camp in a church that hasn’t heard a sermon in nearly a century. This church was one of the few buildings that still stood so it would be easy for the burned men to see. You had men take shifts to watch for burned men outside. By the morning no burned men have shown up. By the afternoon too, none have even come close. When it was nearly dark the burned men showed. They set up camp right behind the church apparently thinking that your group was farther into Waipahu. You made friendly contact with them and they were suprised to see you. You counted 16 zombies all armed with .45 combat rifles. There was one unarmed one, he was visably weaker than the other ones and you could see the bones through his burned skin, and he refused to look at you. The rest didn’t look at you any better, Easy probably told them about how you killed seven burned men in self defense. You agreed to meet Haile on the inside of the church while each group would stay at opposite ends. The old ghoul, Haile, presented himself.

“You called this meeting for peace.”

His voice was like a whistling whisper.

“You killed seven of our men, seven that we will never get back. You, are different from us. When you lose seven you can gain them back with time. When we lose seven it is a permanent scar on our people. You come to speak peace? You talk peace while killing and capturing our populace? While encroaching on our freedom? Might can make right in the wasteland, however, the Burned Men have a century plus on us in stockpiling munitions and arms, experienced soldiers, and local knowledge of the island. Our reign is relatively new and our people might object to declaring an offensive war (the first in our dynasty’s history if you think about it) against beings who they may view as human.

Plus our military is still in its nascence, we don’t have the training, intelligence, nor even the weapons to take and hold the city. While we could field our robot army to overwhelm their defenses, I fear building-to-building fighting against a foe who believes their very race and lives are on the line would break our force’s back.

We should probably start trading slow, maybe do the exchanges immediately outside the walls until the residents and guards calm down. As for WHAT we trade that’s a little trickier. Seems Fallout is kinda vague if Ghouls truly need fresh food and water, but we can at least assume they would want an uncontaminated source. We could offer crops grown in the vault or surface colony in exchange for technological scrap, map information, maybe a guide to the local mutated fauna?

Guns and ammo would probably raise too many eyebrows until we build a more permanent connection to Pearl City. But we might be able to find an enterprising ghoul willing to do business.
>>
>>2416296
Actually I think they would prefer irradiated water over fresh water due to usefulness, but I guess there might be a few that want plain water.
>>
>>2413592
You were able to successfully convince the sixteen burned men of the idea of cooperation. Trading will have to come gradually through the switching of surpluses and deficits. Because of the two settlements operating isolated for a hundred years, trade would be decided more by wants rather than needs. Some of your men decided to trade rations with the burned men. The burned men expressed nostalgia upon eating vault Cram, likewise your men thoroughly enjoyed the mutated fruit that was grown in Pearl City. After thinking about what Haile said you realized that the expansion of vault 57 couldn’t happen in one generation. You would need a heir to continue the feudal line.

Be sure to save some of the mutant plants/seeds to bring back to the Vault and Mililani. They’ll be easier to grow outside compared to our standard crops and I’m sure the people will love new exotic things to taste.

Try to get some info on Honolulu from the Burned Men: how big is the settlement, are they hostile to non-ghouls, do they speak English, Chinese or some fusion? Have they made contact with any other neutral or friendly tribes/factions in the area?

All that Haile knows about Honolulu is that the Chinese residents came on submarines after the war. The island was hit from only one bomb on the opposite end so Honolulu had the least amount of damage. Some weren’t even burned from the blast. The Chinese came about a month after the war, they brought no women or laborers so they made slaves of the unburned populace. A group of them invaded a chaotic Pearl City and were repelled at great cost.

The burned men escorted you and the scouts around the city. The other side of the dried Pearl Harbor is visible. A large capital ship that was hidden from view can now be seen. It towers over the other ships even on its side. The burned men tell you that during the battle of Pearl Harbor it floated above the water and destroyed submarines by launching piles into the water.

You approach the ship. It was heavily armored all over except for a slight dent that allowed you to see inside. Inside was a room full of metal containers. The hole was expanded with the help of the protectron lasers and the strength of all of the men present. All of the containers were empty and were not used for storage. They were comparatively easy to break compared to your entrance. Eventually you broke into a corridor between all the boxes that led to an open hatch. You walked through the hatch and found a latterway that could be walked through now. You can see now that the entire ship was filled with water by the breach and had only recently been dry. Skeletons of various soldiers and scientists were placed around in strange positions. You can almost see their fear of the rising water. Terminals and various gauges had cracked under a century of water pressure. At the bottom of the ship was some kind of viewing port lined with trashed radars and broken terminals. There laid a dead scientist with a different symbol on his lab coat. In his pocket was a plastic card. It read,

The burned men knew nothing about the nene and there are no Chinese speakers among them. Your group and the burned men continued on but they would refuse to fight the Chinese unless they were threatened.

As you got deeper into Honolulu the less the war was evident. You reached a large domed structure with a large hole that was covered with patched cars and wood. A man was standing at the entrance. He was asleep, he wasn’t burned or Chinese but he could be an enemy.

“Wake up.”

He immediately reached for his gun while saying something in Chinese but found nothing in the holster. He looked up and saw you waving with his gun. He was confused at your presence and probably has more questions than you do.

“Do you speak English?”
“Yes, where did you come from?”
“From west of here.”

In his viewpoint the only thing that has come from the west were the zombies leftover from the war.

“What are you doing?”
“They want me to guard this place, but they don’t trust me so they gave me an empty gun.”

You check the gun, it doesn’t even have a clip.

“Who do you work for?”

“The jiān told me to guard this place.”

“Jian?”

“Oh you don’t speak... how do I explain? It’s the man who tells all of us what to do, if we don’t do it he gets someone to shoot us.”

“Are your people from this island?”

“My grandparents say that all of us originally came from a big country east of here but this has always been my home.”

“Have you ever fought the burned men?”

“That’s what you call them? When I was a kid one of those things came from the west and killed someone. They sent the shìbīng (soldiers) after where it came from and they never came back.”

One of the burned men had an aha moment but was shut up by the others.

“Why live here?”

“This place? Why not? It blocks the wind and there is plenty of scraps around to build houses, this place reminds me of my ancestors a bit. No one remembers the old game but the kids have a fun time guessing how it was played.”

You show him the card.

“Does this mean anything to you?”

“I’m sorry, I can’t read English. The Jiān had all of the books burned in my grandparents time and banned teaching it, besides, I’d rather have my skins than be able to read whatever this is.”

“What’s your name?”

“My name is Jacob but my Chinese name is Daquan.”

“Shouldn’t you be guarding this place instead of falling asleep?”

“Nothing ever happens at this spot, I’m resting for the next job they have me do. Repairing one of those big Quíantîng(submarine).”

“What lurks in the jungles?”

“I don’t know to be honest, but it makes me wonder what happened to the last guy with this job. I didn’t know him too well but one day he was gone, everyone assumed that he said the wrong thing at the right place but I think something from the jungle snatched him.”

“The shíbīng force some of the others to farm in the hills.”

“Are there any large birds around here?”

“The nene? We keep pens of them and to keep them from fighting we clip their beaks. The Chinese like them for the meat.”

“Do you enjoy your job?”

“Hell no, if I could I’d run off into that jungle but they have us dependent on them. If we left we would starve.”

“What’s it like living in the city?”

“It can’t be worse than working on the farms but I’ll always hate being a núlì. My grandparents told me that their parents were once completely free to do anything they wanted. Maybe you can help bring that back, kill the Guǎnlǐ zhě and free us.”

“Perhaps, but I have more questions. What are the Qiántǐng used for?”

“We can take your people away from here.”

“You can? That’s great but it will need planning. Stash the guns and come inside. Keep the burned people out, the shíbīng will know the difference.”

Your group carefully hide their guns, they are reachable but you don’t want to get in any gunfights. Jacob opened the makeshift door into a makeshift city. The sun-stained plastic grass had long since been turned up and placed everywhere as decoration or to add more color than brown and black. The NFL symbol from the field was hung like a banner over someone’s house. The homes were in layers, accessed by the stairs lining the stands. Children were in the dirt field either reconstructing a lost sport of football or playing patriots vs commie. The children greeted Jacob as he went by but were astranged by your group. He led you through the complicated structural maze like he made it. When he stopped you were in some kind of gathering room on the top layer. He approached a table sat by elders.

“What are you doing here? You’re lucky the shíbīng just left. Who’s with you?”

“These men showed up and they say that they can take us away from here.”

I guess gunning down the commie guards is an option if they aren't looking, but I doubt everyone would appreciate that. Some of them might be related to the guards and would more than disagree with the plan.

Yes. Planning. Learn of the guard routes, who wants to go and who can't, how many we will be moving or can move without drawing attention. All that good sneaking stuff.

The Chinese here are only slightly related to the people. The original colonizers were all male soldiers so they did mix with the local population but they still have the Chinese-speaking ruling class. If the shíbīng went back to China they probably wouldn’t be recognized as Chinese.

Ohana means family- no one will be left behind to face torture. This oppression shall end. We’ll free everyone and liberate Honolulu from the Chinese slavers!

>Killing the Jiān wouldn’t cast suspicion on the núlì? We’d have to make it look like an accident or natural causes, otherwise you’re just inviting reprisal killings. We MIGHT be able to pass it off as a political assassination, but how can we ensure the people won’t get caught in the crossfire?
>Does the Jiān have an entourage or guard detail? Wouldn’t the Guǎnlǐ zhě appoint someone himself or is this settlement practically a distant fiefdom?
>How many shíbīng are stationed in Aloha Stadium? How frequently does Honolulu send supplies/soldiers? How long could Aloha survive without the resupply?
>Is the Stadium the only núlì community aside from the farms? How many núlì do the Chinese have working within Honolulu or on the farms at a given time?
>How do they divide the labor between ethnicities? I imagine they keep the more vital, specialized knowledge from the núlì, but surely they won’t kill off their entire slave workforce if there is an uprising.

Finally, with their freedom won, what shall they do? Will they want independence or join us? We’re not the most democratic society, but the people should be given a voice and leadership should always act in the interest of the greater good. They won’t fear execution when infirm, food, security, and their equality is guaranteed.

Sorry for the wall of text, I’m just trying to figure out the best route to overthrow them while maintaining the element of surprise. We definitely should limit the amount of information passed around, we don’t want a snitch selling everyone out for a reward.

Long term plan should be freeing Aloha, destroying/liberating the farms to destabilize Honolulu’s food supply and recruiting as much of the population possible to our side. Patience and intelligence are vital if we are to win this with minimal loss of life and devastation.
>>
>>2435699
“Wouldn’t killing the jiān cast suspicion on the núlì?”

“Depending on how it is carried out and who carries it out. The Jiān has us on tight schedules so unless someone is unaccounted for the núlì will not be blamed. If you were to do it, and get caught the shíbīng will know that you are not one of us. Even better, if you do not get caught and do it with a Chinese weapon, his subordinates will assume that he was killed by one of their own.”

“Does the Guǎnlǐ zhě have a guard detail or an entourage?”

“From what I heard he does have guards. Every year the best shíbīng are chosen to be in his personal guard. It is unusual as they are only armed with swords.”

“How many shíbīng are stationed at aloha stadium? How many núlì communities are in Honolulu?”

“I never counted them, but they are around every corner. Despite the high number they keep the numbers in the cities lower than the garrisons outside. I guess that is so we can’t corner them all in the city. This is the largest núlì settlement that I know of. The plantations have a more dispersed núlì population. Farther in the city there are factories but I don’t know if they are in use. Some Chinese have personal núlì as House-slaves but their worth in a revolution is negligible.”

“How do they divide labor between the ethnicities?”

“They make the núlì work hard labor. Their young men are all soldiers and all their young women are homemakers. While they are soldiers they take apprenticeships so that when they retire they preform what they learned while also teaching the younger generation. They execute any núlì that refuse to work, they would do the same to a large revolt. That is why we must divide and conquer, their whole society is based on keeping us under the Chinese boot.”

“What will happen when the revolution succeeds?”

“I have no idea, you are misled if you think I would come out as the leader. If I was younger and an opportunity like this came up I would bring back the old ways. Democracy and all that, but the younger generation don’t believe in that. They think the old ways is what put us in chains. No matter what happens you will still be a hero to us. So, what will you do?”

“Does anyone know more about his guards?”

“No one knows more than I do. I’ve been listening over the shíbīng since before I could remember.”

“What does the Guǎnlǐ zhě look like?”

“He’s old, but younger than I am. He’s a large man but he still spars with his guards. It’s not unusual for some of the guards to die before the year end. I may be mistaken but he might pick his guards for weakness so that he can personally bring up their weakest links.”

You leave your group in aloha stadium. Jacob assists you to the exit and wishes you luck in killing the Guǎnlǐ zhě. The old man told you that the University was north the main road near the center of the city. You stayed off of the main road but kept it in sight. You can see that the Chinese have really made a home for themselves here. Inside houses there were families illuminated by candlelight. Power was only used near work installations so that the núlì could work by night. The streets were empty at night other than patrols of shíbīng who talked and laughed loudly. You eventually made it to the University. You climbed a building to get a better view. You were overlooking a large lot in which two men were fighting. One was an older man whose body was covered in scars from a long life of sword fighting, his movements were slower due to old age. The other one was a younger man who had a similar amount of scars but his movements were cocky and seemed aim to embarrass the old man rather than kill him. The old man took advantage of one of his cocky moves and ran him through. The young man vomited blood as the old man yelled out in Chinese. He pulled his sword out along with the younger mans entrails. He then put the sword through the bottom of his jaw all the way to the top of his head. He sat down and demanded a drink that was quickly obliged. A group of women pulled the young mans corpse away. After shotgunning the drink he had he commanded the crowd to disperse. This man was the Guǎnlǐ zhě. After they were gone he put his still bloody hands on his face and began to cry.

I mean monarchy. Fuck. I forgot our form of governance isn't a democracy.
>>

“I did it to prove I was the strongest man in O’ahu.”

The Chinese were surprised to hear this. The man that saw you first then spoke to the translator.

“Every three years, as tradition, a new Guǎnlǐ zhě is chosen. Only the Guǎnlǐ zhě must fight the previous to the death. On this day the Guǎnlǐ zhě fought and killed his challenger but another challenger approached, you. From what we can tell it was a fair match, so, you are the Guǎnlǐ zhě. I will be your translator.”
>Just like that?

Really? Just like that? Man Chinese cultured devolved into something wierd.
Let's talk one to one with the núlì. He can translate some bullshit to the shíbīng like he could pretend we ask him what's the local flavors around town or something, then he can tell us what they say in response. Because I doubt any of them know a lick of english.

So. Us to the núlì: what's really going on here? Just kill the guy in charge every three years and *boom* you're the leader?
>>
>>2441124
Ask about the Jiān. What's he like? I know it's a he because this is the Chinese we're talking about.
In his honest opinion, what is the Jiān like? A nice guy? Scummy? Do you guys only have swords?

So if I am the Guǎnlǐ zhě, and every three years a new Guǎnlǐ zhě is selected to challenge the next one, does that mean I should be expected to duel some shmuck in three years from now?
Check the date of your Pip-boy and maybe mark down the date.

What does the title of Guǎnlǐ zhě entail? Any resposibilites?

What's with the factories? They seem kind of ominous.

Show them the card with the E and stars (Enclave symbol) do they know anything about it?

Are there any kinds of duels that aren't to the death?

Are there any functioning cars around? I see them a lot on abandoned roads, but they're either rusted to hell, missing parts, or both.

What's it like living here?

Do any of you know how to wrastle? Pic related.

We're In Hawaii. Where are all the pineapples?

Who is the smartest bunch of people do you lnow within your society?

Do you guys plan on using the submarines to sail to the other islands if you can manage to fix them?

Someone gonna archieve this thread?

Seems almost too good to be true, but hey if they’re bound by the traditon and protocol- that’s gives us three years to consolidate our power, install our own soldiers, start the process of assimilating and disarming the aristocracy.

Do you have any scientists or head researchers?

“Just like that?”

The man who saw you spoke through the translator.

“They just fed me bullshit to tell you. They think you’re stupid. Basically what they want you to know is that you aren’t the real leader. In their own words you are more of a ‘figurehead’. Your responsibilities are presiding over the Jiāns and the soldiers.”

“What are the factories for?”

“They make submarine parts and other tools.”

You show them the E card.

“They want to know where you got that”
>tell them the truth
>just found it

>just found it
Found them in some ruins (technically not a lie). Why. What is this thing?

Is there a real singular leader? How many Jiāns are there?

I'm tempted to go kill bill after telling them where we found the card.

“Just found it.”

The Chinese begin arguing among themselves again. In the meantime you talk with the translator.

“Who are you exactly?”

“I’m a king from west of here.”

“A king? Wow, things must have changed a lot for the other people on this island. The elders talk a lot about freedom and how we originally gained it by getting rid of a king. You’re no tyrant, right?”

“I’m not a tyrant, not like these people.”

“That’s good, how will you deal with my people? You said you were not a núlì but...”

The Chinese came to a conclusion.

“The card you have unlocks a door we haven’t been able to blast or pry open to the best of our ability. If you give them the card they’ll use it to get at whatever is in there.”
>here, take the card
>I’m keeping the card
>I’ll let you open the door but I’m opening it
>write in
There are three Jians for west, east, and central. Pineapples were the fruits that the burned men had, Chinese grow them too. Cars have useful metal better used on submarines. Duels weren’t to the death before the current Guǎnlǐ zhě. The only scientists they have are to study old technology and pseudoscience.
>>

Democracy didn't work. Communism especially didn't work. Monarchy will probably be fine for a little longer. Hey what's your name by the way?

>“The card you have unlocks a door we haven’t been able to blast or pry open to the best of our ability. If you give them the card they’ll use it to get at whatever is in there.”
Did this door by chance look like a giant cog, and was there a number on it?
>>
>>2442165
Think the secuitron door from NV. I even quoted Caesar.
>>
>>2442134
>I’m keeping the card
There's something eerie about this card that's possible dangerous. I'm gonna hold onto in for now because I don't want you guys doing something dumb like blow yourselves up.

Any lurkers? This thread is on page ten and I cannot use archives. If anyone can archive this thread I would be grateful. If no one here can I’ll ask in the thread general.

Thread general should work. I'm on mobile to but I've never archieved a thread before.

"I don't think the card will work on the door this is for a bunker back in my kingdom, but if you want we can try it but i'm not letting you have it"

this way we can try to open it on our own and pillage the sweet loot within
rolling for persuasion btw
>>
>>2442286
Or it could be filled with angry Enclave troopers who will kill us on site.
>>
I mean how do you know that whatever items are down there aren't protected by deadly robots that aren't the slow protections? Or what if there are power armor toting soldier? What's to stop the soldiers from rushing us when we open the door, as we would need them to tell us the location?
>>
>>2442286
In addition you probably didn't need to roll for that.
>>
>>2442305
That's why we come with a team in the night >>2442306
They already know what it's for so they might not believe us
>>
>>2442448
But where would we go at night? Will they still tell us where it is even if we don't give them the key? Would they not closely watch us and make sneaking in at night almost a mute point?
Actually scratch my Enclave retaliation idea. If there were some enclave troopers down there, then they would have wiped out the Chinese a long time ago with excessive violence.

It's probably not going to be easy. Think we can get Way with killing the armed guards right now?
>>
>>2442522
depends how many guards there are since we are alone and probably can't take more than 3
>>
Is the consensus to kill the Chinese? Roll d200 and anything between 1-10 and 190-200 wins

You pocket the card, watching their eyes follow your hand. The translator knows what you’re about to do but he asks anyways.

“What the hell are you doing?”

You count 23 Chinese. Three are armed shíbīng the others are the guards of the late Guǎnlǐ zhě. The Chinese man that called you over twitches his sword towards you. You slash at his neck, stunning the rest. You dash to one of the shíbīng and cut his gun in half. It’s metal but it’s cheap metal made from a rusted car. You put the sword through his abdomen like the Guǎnlǐ zhě did. You used the momentum from taking the sword out to hack at another shíbīng’s neck. It didn’t go all the way through his neck but you continued to the next. He shot but missed horribly. You slashed at his neck but missed and embedded it in the side of his face. The guards caught up to you and struck your right arm, flailing skin and muscle.

Made from tin or aluminum as opposed to the tempered steel of the Chinese sword.

Oh that's neat. The thread was achieved. Cool.
