Character info pastebin in progress: http://pastebin.com/iB0tb7rz
Dice odds for best of 3: http://pastebin.com/994WTT3g

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.
Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the the PTU system, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves and also may leave you open to an interrupt, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.

Pokemon and trainers are unique, and may have certain specializations, skills, or other things that the video-game mechanics might not allow. Some examples: That kung fu Bellsprout in the anime, that crystal Onix, or a Roggenrolla that can fly. Herb's perception skills, pokemon knowledge, context clues in general, and other things will hopefully come into play to avoid completely unfair, unforeseeable bullshit, but expect more bullshit from more advanced trainers.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola) - Elsewhere
Belladonna (Roserade) - Elsewhere
Dice (Croconaw) - Elsewhere
Sorbet (Vulpix) - Elsewhere

Location: Akaneki, at a construction site not far from Laki's parent's house.

Recently: You met most of Laki's family, made a good impression, got drunk and included their only daughter in unprotected late night debauchery.

The sound of various tools, men moving things, and some radio echoing off in some other section of the site fill the air while you think about how to answer Lake’s question.

“Well, to me, being a man means having responsibilities you need to rise up to. A lot of people don’t really push themselves until they see a need to, so it can be a really good thing. I’m, well, at least I’d like to think I am, a better person because of my responsibilities, anyway.” Your brother, cooking, your pokemon, your girls and friends all flash before your eyes. “I don’t think being bullied makes you less of a man.”

“I’m an open minded person.” He tells you. “But that’s not an answer I can entirely accept. Every man is aggressed upon in his life, but one that does nothing about it isn’t man. I’m not saying Kai needs to win a fight against kids I’m sure are bigger and stronger than him. But he won’t be a man until he learns how to give them so much trouble that he won’t be worth pushing in the mud.”

“So, you’d like to see him fight back?” Another question you have is when did he become so eloquent? He's a lot more articulate today than yesterday.

“I’d like to see him not get bullied at all. He’s my boy. But yes. Applying force against someone who starts it is usually the best response, as long as you understand the violence to be a means to an end. A tool to protect your resources and family.”

“So if he could talk his way out-”

“Whatever solves the problem.” He says, nudging a bent nail with his tape measure instead of his hammer. “Talking can work. But again, it’s a means to an end. If he appeases them he just becomes a better target next time. And not everyone he meets in life can be reasoned with."

>You disagree. Everyone can be reasoned with, with the right approach

>Part of growing up is gaining wisdom, knowing when a battle is worth fighting for. If he chooses to suffer under his bullies, understanding why he does so would be prudent. If it is purely cowerdise then surely he would not be a man. If it was to spare others the wrath of these individuals then his inaction could be viewed as noble.

“I've learned that bullies don't care about their targets, so much as want to beat up someone weaker than them.” You tell him. “And I think you can make enemies into allies, if you take the time to understand them.”

Gobble listens until you’re done, then nods to show his understanding.

He grunts, with a little laugh. “Well, I guess you’re pretty young yourself. You’ll learn in time.”

That’s pretty disheartening to hear. You feel like you’re being dismissed a bit. “I mean it. It’s how I’ve made a lot of pokemon friends. And human ones. Although sometimes a frying pan to block attacks can help.” You think of Hydreigon and Jane. “I think part of growing up is gaining wisdom, and knowing when a fight is worth it. If he’s just scared, that’s one thing, but if he’s taking that focus on himself so other people don’t have to, then you could call it noble.”

He gives you a second, confused glance, before he accidentally hits his thumb.

“Are you okay?”

“You distracting lit-” He takes a breath. “I’m fine. I haven't done that in ages. My own fault for not keeping my eyes on what I was doing.”

“That looks like it’s going to leave a mark. Do you w-”

“It will.” He says firmly. “Going to throb for awhile too. Good. I won’t make that mistake again anytime soon.” His tone puts an end to it. “Shoot. Herb, hold that board for me, will you? You’re going to need to take a crash course in woodworking. That Munchlax of yours smart?”

“Gobble? Yeah!”

Gobble beams.

“I’ll trust you on that. Can’t fall behind today. Too much to do. Have him get me chalk-line from the other room and you stay here and hold this up.”

You pause. You and Gobble both have no idea what a chalk-line is. The tone in his voice made it sound like he expected you to, though. You want to make a good impression and feel like he’s already a little dismissive, even if he sort of likes you, you think. Should you just admit you don’t know? Is that unmanly in his eyes?

Maybe you could figure it out, or ask another person on the site.

“Look, one of you has to go and one of you needs to hold this board.” He tells you. He sounds a little cranky now that he hurt himself.

>Hold the board, have Gobble go and hope he figures it out

Time for the crash course. I was bad when I was little, liked playing with Dad's tools, one of which was a chalk line. He was not happy when he found out.
>>
“I uh, I’m not sure what that is.” You confess. “What does it look like?”

He huffs, but you can tell he didn’t mean to do it that loudly. “Nevermind! I’ll get it!”

You and Gobble standard there awkwardly as he gets up, heads to the next room. That really made you feel useless. Is he just mad because of his thumb? Are you saying the wrong stuff?

Are you just not man enough to hack it in a place like this?

“This is a chalk-line.” He says, showing you the tool. It doesn’t make sense until he pulls the string. “See? You hold this end. We stretch it out, and the line gets covered in chalk dust as it comes out. To make a straight line, I just snap it like this.”

“Hey, that’s pretty neat.” You say, looking closer and glad he’s teaching you something.

“It’s not a toy.” He holds it back. His gruff tone again making you feel pretty bad. He reaches to pull the tape measure from his belt. “This is.” He flicks it out, making it snap at you. He stops short of touching you, and repeats the attack a few times, startling you and making you jump a little. He must have a lot of practice! He tries the same to Gobble, but Gobble catches the end on the second flick.

“Good pokemon.” He says. “Fast for a Munchlax.”

You can’t understand him. Is that his way of trying to bond with you? Flicking a tape measure? Is he just giving you a hard time? Is he going easy on you? Is he just doing whatever he feels like in the moment and not overthinking it like you probably are?

You spend the day working hard, but making it your main priority to learn as much as possible. You annoy him at first, but with a little time he starts to warm up to explaining things to you.

Truthfully you end up more confused than you were going into it, since you don’t know why he teaches you the things he does or when to apply them, but a few things stick and you learn some small tricks on how to do some tasks. You end up feeling more rounded as a person, and you can see Gobble learning from your example too. Once he learns the right way to get a nail out, he really gets into it. The chalk-line, the level, the way Lake puts in supports and why he chooses the spots he does, all of that seems to stick with Gobble maybe even better than you.

“Alright.” He says. “That’s enough for today. Come on, Herb. I bet the women are cooking us up a great meal when we get back.” He slaps you on the back. “Good work today. Good attitude.”

His approval hits you deep inside. It’s a nice, warm, fuzzy feeling that pits a kick in your step. You and him go to collect Hana.

Huh. You didn’t really get a chance to check in on her at all today. The few times you looked over, she was just digging and digging, not taking any breaks.

She seems to have attracted a lot of attention. At first, you assume it’s because she’s a girl, but you see the faces looking at her aren’t happy.

“What did you do?” A man demands. You recognize him as the site supervisor.

“I dug!” She sounds worried. “I thought you said to dig between the markers because you couldn’t get large digging pokemon in here and the smaller ones are all at another site, so...”

“I know what I said!” He bellows. “You just did a crew’s work for the week!”

“Oh.” She says. Her hand drops a little, and you can hear the arm strain. It must be near empty.

“What are you, some sort of jokester? You sneak a second pokemon on site or something? I know your Glaceon didn’t dig that”

“No. Glaceon was helping keep us cool” Hana says meekly. “I did the digging. I just put my legs into it.”

“Your legs?”

She lifts the ankle of her pants, showing metal ankles and drawing a lot of eyes. “Well, not -my- legs...”

“Hey! She’s that robot girl.” Someone says. “Yeah, I remember hearing about that years ago. Some sort of accident, right?”

Someone elbows that guy to shut up. The man who was giving her a hard time though, doesn’t seem to care. “Show me how you dug so fast.”

“I can’t anymore.” She says. “I’m low on power.”

(continued)
>>
>>2449320
“Uh huh. You get paid by the bucketload, totally didn’t sneak in a second pokemon, and you, some teenage girl with prosthetics, just dug that all by yourself.”

Someone else chimes in. “She was digging pretty ha-”

“Nobody asked you. I’m not paying. Not a cent.” He looks to the crew and yells. “Nobody cheats on my site! Back to work, everyone.” He looks down at Hana. “You, get off of my site.”

Hana climbs out of the hole, but as she pulls herself up slowly and with effort, she looks up at him in a rare show of social assertiveness. “I...that’s not fair!” Her voice cracks. She was so much more confident when yelling at Laki. You can understand though. This is different. She’s not convincing him of anything, but she’s not backing down yet, either. At least, until she see’s Lake. Then she seems struggle with if she wants to let it go or not. You think she doesn’t want to cause trouble for Lake.

“I know it’s different on the mainland, but we don’t sue here for just a small fist fight.” Lake tells you. It sounds more like a warning for you not to do anything dumb than advice to use against the supervisor. “Unless you’re going to talk him out of his money.” He adds in with a slight mocking tone. “Believe me, though. When he gets like this the only way you get it is by taking it.”

You want to get in there, but should you? Lake isn’t discouraging you, but isn’t that guy sort of like his boss? And is it sexist for you to step in for her if she can handle it?

You wipe your sweaty palms on your pants

“Why are you so skeptical?” You say, moving forward. Gobble follows with you. “She could easily show you if she had some power in her limbs. Watch her tomorrow when she's at full charge. If she lied you get a week and change of work for free, if she's not you pay her.”

“We can do it sooner, if I can borrow a charge from someone.” Hana meekly adds in.

“Who are you?” He looks around to the others without waiting for a response from you. “Who is this?”

“My daughter’s man.” Lake informs him, and all the onlookers.

“Laki got a boyfriend?” The supervisor asks, a little surprised, a little of what sounds like proud, and a lot confused. “Him?”

“That girl’s her Sal-mate.” He clarifies. “Hana.”

“Little Laki’s in a harem.” He asks. “Under a mainlander kid?”

Whispers spread among the crowd. The older workers refer to her as ‘little Laki,’ and it sounds like she was a bit of a sweetheart and mascot that the whole crew took a liking towards as a kid. The younger workers, though, don’t refer to her as little at all, and their tone is just a little different. You feel like you’re being sized up and judged by a lot of eyeballs right now.

“What do you say?” You try to get things focused on the issue at hand, and regain some sort of control here. This suddenly feels even harder than before.

“What, you’re serious? Why would I agree to that?”

You really feel the pressure now. The direct confrontation in his voice and posture put a scare into you, even if you don’t really want to admit it. It’s a powerless feeling. “B-” you cough. “Because.” That’s a little better. “Because you have nothing to lose, unless you’re trying to stiff a girl out of money on principle.”

It’s a direct challenge to his honor. He grinds his teeth and steps right up next to you. He clenches a fist. There’s definitely a hostile intent in his eyes, and from the group’s growing silence, you’re sure they see it too.

Your heart is pounding out of your chest.

Let her lead the conversation and pitch in if needed, its her money so she should be the one arguing for it (respect to her for both the island customs and in general), less likely for the construction foreman, who i doubt Herb could take in a fight, to try to just kick our ass and call it a day. You keep eye contact and stand your ground. The closer he gets though, the more you realize how much bigger he is than you. It’s not a small gap.

“If you’re going to act like a big man, you’d better fight like one too.” He warns you.

You don’t have a retort. You’re just focused on staying firmly planted, not giving an inch. You don’t even want to blink.

“HA!” He throws a punch. You’re so busy fighting the urge to just stay planted that you don’t really flinch much. Well, some face muscles contort a little, and your stomach muscles tighten up, but you don’t blink and you don’t move.

His fist stops at the last second. He almost seems as surprised as you do. You think something about just standing firm made him change his mind. It seems like the last thing he expected you to do, and despite what you assume is at least some experience in fighting, his instincts told him your confidence made you not worth it. Whether you’re not worth the risk of punching your head clean off, or he got some sense that you’d fight hard, or something else, you don’t know.

Your gut is doing spins right now, but he backs down. “It’s beneath me to pick on a kid.” He says, trying to save a little face.

There are a few hushed whispers, but nothing anyone dares express too loudly.

“Alright. Sure. Charge up or whatever you have to do, grab a shovel, and if you dug this as fast as you said you did, you won’t have any trouble pitching that pile of dirt into that truck over there faster than Lileep.

You glance to Hana. Her expression says she’s pretty sure she can do it.

Gobble looks ready to throw down with this guy right here.

You’re still reeling from the fact that he backed down! You didn’t expect that to actually work!

You glance back at Lake, wondering if Lileep is a reasonable pokemon for Laki to go up against.

He keeps his thick arms folded and his gaze cool. He leans over just a bit to look at the area Hana dug. “Anyone that could dig that today should be fine.” He says.

Your eyes go back to Hana to check one more time, but the supervisor snaps to demand your attention. “Getting scared? I’m a reasonable man, we-”

“We accept.” You blurt out. “But if Hana wins, you’re paying her for doing that work, too.”

He looks almost a little cornered. He glances to the men, then back to you. “Fine! Let no man say I don’t pay what’s owed.”

There’s some muttering of approval from the crowd.

“U-um, for the competition, can Glaceon help me? She helped with the other digging.”

He looks suspicious for a second. “I can’t come up with an argument to say no. But no funny business.”

Whatever counts as funny business, he doesn’t say. You don’t have time to follow up, as Hana is asking around to see if anyone has an electric pokemon she can borrow.

“I’ll help you, Hana.” Laki’s older brother offers, a little too eagerly. He was awfully quiet up until now.

“I thought you brought Mach-”

“SHHH.” He interupts. “I snuck in Raichu, too. He’s fresh. Lots of juice.”

Another worker, who thankfully was too far to hear that, comes over with his somewhat tired looking Charjabug. “Some of the other guys may not like it, but that guy stiffed me before too. If you can beat him, I want to help.”

“She’s covered.” Laki’s older brother tells the worker.

“Charjabug is cute! I’m sure he’ll do great” Hana says before turning to Laki’s older brother. “I don’t want you to risk anything. I’ve already been enough trouble.”

“It’s fine. I’m a sucker for a pretty face.” He says. “I’m really down with helping women in the workplace. Especially on this island.”

“I couldn’t...” Hana says once again.

“You can! I insist.”

“Well... if you say so...” Hana relents.

The rush of that encounter is still making you jittery and feeling a need to take some sort of action. It’s hard to tell if your feelings about wanting to step in again are because you feel she’s being forced into agreeing or if the adrenaline is giving you the urge to step up to him now too.

>It’s her choice. You’ve stepped in enough today
>She said Charjabug is fine, pal!

“It’s your choice.” You tell her. “I was going to give you a piggyback, but if that’ll work, then-”

“That sounds great!” She says before turning to Laki’s older brother. “Thanks for volunteering. I’ll leave it to you and Raichu.”

You’re both confused as to what she means until she detaches her legs and arm with a satisfying little click for each one. She leaves all three there and gestures with her remaining, biological arm, for you to help her up.

You do so. Jeez, you’re beat. Even without her parts, it’s not as easy as you assumed. You did a lot more bending and lifting today than you realized. Still, while today you’re tired, you know the you that started your journey would be flat out on his back right now.

The two of you walk off somewhere else, leaving him behind. Gobble and Glaceon hurry along with you.

Somehow today, you feel like you’ve become pretty unpopular here. It should bug you more than it does, but nothing seems to bug you that much when Hana depends on you.

“Thanks.” She says. “Sorry for being a burden again today.”

“You know that’s not-”

“I know.” She says, snuggling into your back. “And I know you know it’s not the leg thing I’m talking about. I went and caused a scene and almost got you into a fight. And now this with Laki’s brother.”

“...what do you mean?”

“I think I accidentally flirted with him. I didn’t mean to!” She quickly adds. “I was just trying to be nice and I told him I liked his hat and I think he took it way the wrong way because he’s been really weird.”

The explanation about what she meant by flirting calms you down, but the fact that he’s been making her uncomfortable bugs you. Even more than the fact that she likes that hat. “Did he do anything?”

“No.” She says. “He didn’t. He helped me dig and he did volunteer his Raichu. Maybe I’m just overreacting. I’ve been wrong about guys being into me before.” That last sentence comes out in a way that implies there’s a story from before she met you. “I feel a little bad. I don’t hate him or anything. He’s been nice. I just don’t feel right around him.”

You’re not sure what to make of him. There’s just this weird sense you get when he talks, like he’s just on a different wavelength than other people. It’s hard for you to describe since your gut doesn’t use words.

>She should trust her instincts. You’ll try to make sure he’s not alone with her
>He seems a little off, but nice. We shouldn’t judge until we get to know him better
>Laki would have warned us if there was anything to worry about.

“You should trust your instincts.” You tell her. You feel like that old bit of wisdom has really come to define your aura training. It’s just good advice.

“Yeah? I’m not being crazy?”

You give her an assuring nudge with your head. It’s all you can manage while carrying her. “I’ll try to make sure you’re not alone with him.” You hope you're both not being too judgmental. It sounds like he's had a bit of an odd upbringing and he's just in a strange position in general. That can't be easy. Still, you couldn't ever dream of taking any chances when it comes to Hana.

“Thanks.” She says, sounding a little disappointed. “Don’t say anything to this, because I know what you’re going to say. But I want to tell you how I feel right now. Umm, if that’s alright.”

“It’s always alright.”

She takes a big breath. “I feel like...I’m not needed. It’s not that you make me feel that way. You didn’t do anything wrong.” She really puts a big emphasis on that. “Don’t feel bad, please. I just, well, it’s hard to feel secure when I’m always taking and taking and never giving. I don’t even know what I can offer, at this point. Now I’m asking even more from you. I’m always doing greedy things. I’m a huge hypocrite, too. I’m calling Laki’s brother creepy but I’m the one that creeps on all my friends!” She sighs. “I think sometimes when I talk about being a burden, people think I’m being down about my limbs and stuff. I don’t exactly feel like they help, but I don’t hate them or mind the stares. I’d love to be able to just blame any of my problems on my condition or the things that have happened to me, but I can’t. That wouldn’t be true. I am who I am because of my choices and habits. I get exhausted just being around so many people all the time so I’m always quiet and boring, but I get exhausted because I never forced myself to socialize much before. I have no skills or anything because all I did most days was watch movies and play games. I have nothing to show for in my life except for you and my pokemon, and I always feel like I could lose either at any time because there’s no reason you should want to be with me. I know you it kills you to hear all this and that’s just another thing that makes me feel bad, because I’m dumping stuff on a guy that deals with everyone’s problems all the time and the last thing he needs is a needy girlfriend complaining about vague feelings of inadequacy. I don’t know. I just really wanted to tell you how I feel. You’re doing great as a boyfriend. Really. Like, infinite out of ten. The way you stood up to that guy back there? Holy crap! You’re amazing! But that’s part of why feel so insecure. You’re so out of my league it’s insane. I still have no idea how this even happened. I don’t want you to get any weird ideas that I want to see you fail or anything just to bring you down to my level so I can feel more secure or some crazy girlfriend stuff like that. I just...I don’t even know what my point was. I guess I was hoping if I kept talking, I’d be able to figure it out. Just uh, please let me know if I have any habits or things that I do that I can work on. Again, please don’t say anything in response to this right now. I’m not looking to make you fix me every time I blurt crazy all over you. You do so much as it is. I guess I just wanted to give you a sort of status update because at the very least, it’s probably better than if I just clam up and make you guess.”

(continued)
>>
>>2449693
You really, really want to say something to that. But said not to say anything in response. There’s so much there to go over that you need time to process it all to even respond anyway.

“Thanks for being you.” She says after your non-response.

You set her down on a bench. She cuddles against you, ignoring the looks of occasional passers-by. Despite what she told you, she neglected to give the same instructions to Gobble. He gives her a big, long hug. He was going to hug her leg originally, but found that to not be working at the moment and had to climb up the bench instead.

Just sitting on the bench for awhile lets your mind wander. You note that all the women you’ve seen here are pretty modestly dressed, and many are escorted by a man. The streets are very clean, with almost no signs of litter. People greet each other very formally, but immediately lighten up as soon as the formalities are taken care of. You even saw two brothers do a formal bow, then talk about what they’ve been up to since the other day. But they still maintained acknowledging the older/younger hierarchy. It’s so foreign to you, but you feel more curious the more you get to know how it all works. There’s a feeling of assurance in having a system where you theoretically always know where you fit.

“Umm, there’s something else we should talk about.”

Your heart stops for a second. What did she just say? Oh no. Oh no! “S-sure.” You sweat.

“Doesn’t it bother you that I’m...the way I am?”

You cock your head. You have no idea what she’s talking about.

“You know...”

“Cute?”

She smiles. “No! I mean, thanks, and I think you’re crazy, but no. That I’m more...sexually enthusiastic than average?”

Somehow, you can almost hear Abigail’s voice calling that the understatement of the year.

Hana continues. “I’m not stupid. I’m not really that smart either, but I’m not dumb. I know most boys would be really happy about that. But you’re not like most boys. I’m so dirty and you’re so...not. And I’m not complaining about your ability to keep up because, wow! Even I’m going to be really satisfied for a while after last night. But doesn’t it bug you that I’m a huge slutty pervert? Even a little?”

Yeah, I’m hoping it leads to a “no need to be ashamed” type of thing. I can kinda see Hana reading it as Herb thinking she’s obsessed or something, based on the wording.

Something interesting about Herb/Laki/Hana, none of them really have set ambitions. That’s something they should work on together.
>>
Man I love when things just slide into place like that. Perfect example of what we told lake about violence and bullying.
>>
I think one thing we need to do, assuming we have their contact info, is get in touch with Kat and crew and ask them about getting Hana some prosthetics she can swim with. IIRC, that was something she once told us she loved before she became a triple amputee. It would be a nice thing for her to do, alongside writing and directing.

As far as her libido goes, I think Herb would be worried about going too far if he plays along with some of her fantasies and not knowing when she wants him to stop. Not in the sense that we think she's fragile, but in that life already shat on her enough and we don't ever want to add to that pile.

>>2450848
Why would she need additional surgery to get lighter waterproof prosthetics?
>>
>>2451264
I don't recall directly off the top of my head but it was Hana herself who said it. I think it has to do with how her robo legs attach to her. It prevents an easy swap like that.
>>
>>2451264
Uses different kinds of connectors than the more durable and stronger cutting edge prosthetic she uses.
>>
>>2451292
Prosthetics like that would require surgery beyond just attachment; a lot of the body would have to be altered to be capable of supporting the kind of force they put out. Hana might well have been given a Wolverine-style adamantium bone treatment.
>>
>>2452052
It’d be easier to just use aura to swap bodies with her.

After Hana asks her question, she picks up Glaceon and pets it. It’s a nice distraction for her to keep from having to look you in the eyes. You recognize it because you do similar stuff sometimes.

“I like it.”

“You do?” She sounds happy and relieved, but also surprised.

“You make me feel needed.” You say, lowering your voice a little and sinking your head into your shoulders shyly before you continue. “Nightly.”

She gives you a fun, sideways smile, but only for a second. “That’s a relief. But, are you sure? I feel like I’m always just bugging you for a favor. You get into it.” She blushes. “Really into it. But I feel like you’re just sort of trying to make me and Laki happy. You never really initiate so I don’t know if you’re just sort of giving in because you feel you need to or, uh, y’know, you’re not as attracted to me...” she sort of trails off. “I just feel like I’m being a pest sometimes. You don’t have to do stuff if you don’t want to. If it’s bugging you, I’ll cut it out and stop bugging you for it every day. You’re such a pure, nice guy and if I didn’t meet you I’d probably just end up as some easy practice lay for shallow jerks with confidence. I just don’t get how someone like you can like someone like me.”

You face her, lifting her chin a little with her finger so she’ll meet your eyes. “It’s a part of who you are. How could I not love it?”

She says nothing for a moment. Not because of a lack of effort, but because she looks overwhelmed. The dried sweat from working all day makes way for new, fresh sweat forming a bead on her face, despite Glaceon’s presence. She hides her face under her hair and looks down. “You always know what to say.” Her voice has a smile in it.

It’s your turn to feel a bit reserved now. There’s something you’ve been worrying about, too. “I guess it can be a little intimidating, because you know so much more than me and I’m just kind of learning. I have been... uh, satisfying you, right?”

“Oh ho ho yeah!” She blurts out. “Do you ever. I probably shouldn’t say this, but I didn’t see that coming.”

There’s a pregnant pause in the air.

“I-I-I just mean, that I’d find a guy who’s really nice and makes me feel great and also...makes me feel -great-” She awkwardly lifts her shoulders to emphasis the different meaning. “I always thought I’d end up just sort of being jerked around by some hot douchebag. And instead, I have you.”

Once again, there’s another pause.

“I mean, you’re hot! I mean, everyone thinks you have a cute face, you dress really well and you’ve got a decent body, and also a massive-” she suddenly goes quiet as a jogger passes by. “Uh, heh. But you’re also the most powerful person I’ve ever met.”

“Me?” She’s teasing you, right? She doesn’t normally, but maybe with Laki and Abigail going at it all the time she might be picking up a habit. “Me?” You repeat.

“Well, yeah. You don’t always take charge, but it’s like, you don’t seem to feel the need to most of the time. And when you do, you’re really direct and honest and you just sort of take over any situation that needs you to and it’s just like, wow!” She wiggles her leg stumps, as if to mimic kicking her legs while sitting. “You dominate. And not in the usual way you think of the word. I just feel safe when you do that, like everything’s going to work out because you’re in charge. It’s scary, but exciting.”

“Scary?” You scare her? You?

“Well, it’s scary in the sense that you make me feel optimistic about stuff.” Oh. You understand now. Being optimistic about life is scary to her.

She laid out a lot. You take a minute to process it all and figure out how that makes you feel.

While for Hana sex is a series of tubes. In optimum condition she's hot and cold running sex.

“You have way too high of an opinion of me.” You say, putting an arm over her, and forgetting for a moment until now that the reason it feels off is because she’s only got the one full arm right now. “I have no idea what I’m doing most of the time.”

Gobble looks up in shock from that statement. He apparently didn’t know that, either.

You feel the need to add something to that statement to lighten it up a bit. "But I guess it's worked out okay so far, I mean, I got two great girlfriends out of making it up as I go."

“Psh. We got you.” She says, leaning into you She is getting a little teasing, after all! “Um, kidding.” She breaks easily. “Trust me, after last night you pretty much own me.”

You’re not sure how you feel about that, and she seems to regret saying it because she hides her face in your chest quickly out of embarrassment after. But before you can say anything, you the timer on Hana’s pokedex going off and Glaceon’s leap of surprise from it. It’s time to head back.

On the walk back though, there’s another thing you wanted to mention. “Optimism isn’t the worst thing in the world. I don’t think it’s bad if you feel that way.”

This time, when you look at her, the eyes looking back look a lot different. A look of condescension. No, not that. Pity. No, not quite that either. You’re not sure how to describe it. It’s like you’re a little kid who just said Santa is real and she doesn’t have it in her to tell you otherwise. But beneath that, there’s also something else, just barely there. Like you could almost convince her it’s possible if you really tried and found the perfect argument for it. The whole look vanishes when she glances down.

The site supervisor and his pokemon are there, waiting, and watching as Hana starts putting herself back together. “You still interested in doing this? There’s no shame in backing down. As much as I shouldn’t be doing this, I’m a reasonable guy. I can give you a day’s average wage and we can settle the issue there.”

“Not like you to give up so easily.” Laki’s dad says, folding his arms. He’s been suspiciously quiet during this whole thing.

“As far as I’m concerned, we’re wasting time. And I don’t want to have some poor girl throw her back out on my watch.”

“Umm, I don’t think you need to worry about that.” Hana says, assuringly. Despite everything, she bows and sounds humble. She turns to bow to Lake, too. Deeply “But, I feel awful, sir. You took me into your home and I’ve done nothing but cause you trouble. I apologize. Please don’t let my behavior reflect on Herb as a person or mean any disrespect to you or your family.”

He looks surprised, and his face softens, but only for a second. “I forget that you’re an outsider and don’t know much about our island. Matters of honor are on the individual only. That’s how we avoid some family rivalry problems that used to plague our society. I have no place in telling you to step down or to continue with your challenge.”

You see a few workers subtly taking bets between hana and the Lileep. She still seems pretty unpopular in their eyes, but you see a few bets going for her as well.

Hana comes up from her deep bow, but something seems wrong. Her face looks surprised. She comes over to you and whispers. “I’m not charged all the way! Not even close!”

“What?” You look to Laki’s older brother, who was left with charging the limbs. He looks like he expected a reaction from you and Hana. He looks away before you can get a sense of if there's any malice or guilt or anything on his face. You wish you were better at reading people.

“I think I can still win. Maybe.” She says. “If I was charged all the way it’d be no contest....”

“Do you want to try coming back tomorrow?” You ask.

She shakes her head. “No. I’m already shaking. I don’t have the guts to come back a second day. And they’ll just say I’m making excuses. And everyone will be disappointed. The show must go on, right? I think...I’ll try my best!” She does her best to sound and look optimistic. She’s a great director, but even you can see she could use a little practice on her acting skills.

You want to encourage her, but you’re not sure if you should. Even if she says she’ll be fine and won’t hurt her back or anything, you’ve seen her push herself before. You remember how she went under the water to win the trust of her Chinchou.

I can't really think of anything that we'll be able to pull off, other than try and use our aura magic to charge her up ourselves. I mean, technically, aura is like energy, right? Converting it into electricity seems retarded, but not impossible. Just gotta think about electric typing and go ham.

“Good luck.” You say, pulling her in for a quick hug. “Don’t push yourself too hard though, okay?”

“I’ll try.”

You lower your hands, taking in two big, meaty handfuls. As you do, you whisper into her ears. “Just remember that there are better uses for your energy.”

Between you doing that and the few cheers from the guys, her face gets so hot you almost need to back away. “Okay.” Her voice cracks. She looks like she was struggling to find something witty to say and just gave up.

She walks up and picks up her shovel. Lileep, who has been waiting by it’s pile of dirt, stirs awake. It doesn’t have any tension in it’s movements. It either doesn’t consider Hana to be someone who can beat it at this little game of moving dirt, or it just doesn’t care about competing.

“Ready?” The supervisor says, taking Hana a lot less seriously after you manhandled her.

“Yeah!” She fakes some determination. That seems to spur a few more last minute bets against her.

“Then let’s go!”

Hana and Lileep get to digging. Hana, rather than using both hands, sort of couches the shovel under her fake arm and uses its power to toss shovel-loads that way. At least, for now. Lileep sucks in a good load against it’s face, then drops it into the truck bed beside it.

“Go Hana!” You cheer. She smiles back for a second to let you know she heard before concentrating on the task at hand again. Glaceon helps her by blowing a quick breeze onto her arm to keep it cool. You guess that must help.

This looks like it could take a little bit.

You keep thinking about what went wrong. You don't want to start throwing accusations around, but you feel a little betrayed by Laki's brother right now. He said he'd charge her limbs with Raichu

You casually make your way Laki’s brother. Well, casually for you. You stick out here pretty hard, it seems. At least, it feels like. Everyone else looks like they belong. Still, you don’t feel like they look down on you exactly. You guess standing up to the supervisor in front of everyone counted for something. Nobody seems to be exactly sure what to make of you at all.

He doesn’t say anything, but he looks pretty uncomfortable.

“So, Hana’s arms and legs weren’t charged much.”

“Aww yeah man. That looked pretty hard.” He says, sounding like he’s making conversation.

“It looked hard?

“Well I was trying to make her like me and she just acted like a stuck up...she just ditched me without explaining how it works. I couldn’t figure it out so I just told Raichu to handle it since he’s an electric type and all.” He explains.

You have to do a double take. You’ve seen how it works. It can be a little hard to see the spot to open, but not that hard. Not if you’re actually looking for it. But he’s hard to read. Did he do it out of malice or is he just a little...unreliable?

And what did he mean by making her like him? He must have meant as an acquaintance, right? His tone didn’t tip you off one way or the other.

it probably does, that doesn't mean that he knows that especially if hes an anxious fuckup. It might even have a lable describing it, or Raichu might have been able to charge it intuitively.

He could still fuck it up by accident by not noticing and then not asking the pokemon to charge it and then standing there holding a pair of metal legs in his hand running an internal recursive panicked monologue of "wait, what? how do I do this? Oh shit, I'm a fuck up, why did I suggest that I could do this. No wonder my dad hates me." and on and on until he was out of time or fixing it to late to give it a proper charge.

You look to Gobble. He’s been quiet for most of the day, helping you with whatever tasks you were assigned and soaking in as much as he could.

“Well, if you look at the place where the charging ports are, there’s tiny little writing that explains it.”

“That’s a lot to read.” He says dismissively.

“Well, there are pictures, too.” You try not to let your voice or feelings become too judgemental just yet. “Right under it. If you just press your finger on the right spot it opens up.”

“Oh yeah. Raichu probably figured that out eventually.” He says quickly. “So, dad teach you anything?”

That’s a strange change of topic. “Umm, yeah, a bit about framing and some tools. Anyway, look, Hana was really depending on getting charged up.”

“Well, Raichu did it. They’re working, right?”

You feel just the slightest tinge of frustration. “Well. Yes. Technically. But not all the way.”

“Look man. Get off my back. I said I’d charge them and I did. Using Raichu was a big risk for me, so lay off, okay?”

A slight commotion hits the people watching as Hana begins to support her fake arm with her real one. It doesn’t take long before you can see the amount of effort she’s putting into it shows on her face. Lileep has slowed down a little, but not much. At this pace, it’s hard to tell who will be a winner.

“What did you mean before, about wanting Hana to like you?”

“Yeah. I figured you guys aren’t serious since you’re dating my sister. But like I said, she seemed pretty stuck up so whatever.”

Okay. Now you’re feeling pretty steamed. Gobble must be picking up on it too because he gives him a very frustrated look. “She’s not stuck up. She’s humble.” You say, as calmly as you can. You really want to assume you’re just having a series of misunderstandings.

“Yeah man. She’s totally hating being the center of attention.” His voice actually does have a little edge to it for the first time. Maybe it’s just annoyance. Either way, he seems to back it down a little. “Women, right?”

Gobble makes a motion like he’s rolling up a sleeve.

I was thinking just say 'Well, if that's how you think then nuts to you!', then walk away to cheer Hana on.
>>
Look, I don’t think having a hard life makes it okay to be shitty (just look at Hana) but there’s no way this guy’s issues don’t have anything to do with how his mother got ousted from the harem. I feel like we should at least be cognizant of that. Is that weird?
>>
>>2458845
The thing is that being cognizant of it won't change anything. He's already shown hell just shift blame for anything to reinforce his own worldview. Nothing we say or do will change that and frankly it's not our problem. The simplest thing to do is state our opinion and move on.
>>
>>2458845
It's not just that he's a shitty person, he's the type of shitty person who doens't see people as people and as objects ( some of which he lusted after like Hana, who is one of Herbs women). The moment someone doesn't do the thing he wanted he will shift the blame to them rather than admit the way he is viewing people is fucked up.
>>
>>2458794
>>Call him a mean name (write-in’s very welcome)
>>We’re serious, and don’t ever forget it!
Maybe a fusion of these. Something like "I am serious about both of them and you're gonna need to go somewhere I can't see you and stay there." Strong language and a good stance.
>>
“We are serious.” You say, keeping your eyes forward to avoid glaring at him. “Me, Hana, and Laki. Don’t you ever forget it!” The fierceness in your voice surprises you. The thrill, embarrassment, and just unfamiliarity with expressing anger all surprise you.

“Woah. Alright.” He says defensively, and again, a little dismissively. “Touchy.”

You bunch a fist in frustration You just can’t let it go quite yet. “There are so many things wrong with what you said! A person doesn't have to like you just because you do nice things for them! You really ought get that attitude of yours fixed, because nobody is going to like you the way you want like this!” You tried to restrain your voice but that comes out sounding very angry. You'd grab his shirt if you didn't respect the brand too much. Even then you might do it anyway!

He doesn’t say anything right away, but eventually there’s one last comment. “Yeah, well, guess that’s why you and him get along so well. You sound exactly the same.” He walks away.

Hana has Glaceon focus on freezing chunks of dirt. At first you can’t understand why, but you see it soon enough. Glaceon is freezing the loose gravel into solid chunks that Hana can lift. It takes a lot of effort, but she keeps her back straight and uses her legs for the power. Hana sweats a lot now, trying to keep pace. She’s really struggling, but not to the point where you’re worried, yet.

The guys all really get into it, but part of you can’t help but feel it also has to do with how clingy her shirt is getting. The heat and effort must have done away with her reservations. Normally she’s hesitant about showing too much of her body, not because she’s ashamed of it, but because she doesn’t like making other people uncomfortable. She thinks so much about others that it bothers you that they don’t see it.

“Go Hana!” You say, stepping closer. “You can do it!”

She reacts immediately, working slightly faster. But that burst of energy doesn’t last long. The drop off in speed is very noticable. She is beating Lileep, but it’s steady pace is quickly catching up as she shows more signs of exhaustion. A cool breeze from Glaceon helps with the heat, but makes her shirt a little pointier than is probably appropriate with all the guys around staring at her.

She’s in the final stretch now, but you get a little worried. Is she pushing too hard? You can hear the limbs groan in protest as they’re being forced to move despite being next to empty now. With the face she’s making from the effort though, somebody could be forgiven if they thought it was her making the noise. You wouldn’t blame her either. You’re pooped from working all day, and she’s been doing a much harder job even if lots of her is metal. Her core must be killing her by now.

Gobble makes a lot of noise and motions. He insists she keep pushing hard. That makes a lot of sense coming from him with his iron resolve.

Hana slows, but Gobble kicks up a fuss again. He’s getting surprisingly invested into this. You sure as heck can’t be quiet either.

“Push Hana! You’re almost there! You can win as long as you keep going!”

Hana pushes. Hard. She’s been switching between methods to move the last bit of dirt because she’s just so drained and anything she can try at this point might help make it a little easier. Glaceon gives her another light spray of ice to cool her down and she goes for one last mad scramble.

And despite some of the workers feeling like she’s taken work from them, and the fact that she’s a girl who didn’t really socialize at all the entire day, everybody there seems to root for her. Maybe not to beat Lileep, and maybe only for a short time, but they root for her to keep doing her best and make it to the end. All eyes go to her as she gives it her all.

“Stop!” The supervisor says. “Stop!”

The crowd dies down a bit, and the supervisor strides forward. “It’s done. She’s exhausted.”

You almost lose it until you see him kneel down in front of Lileep. The poor pokemon breathes very heavily, then coughs a little, sending dust all over the supervisor. The breathing stays intense for a long time after it stops working. “We concede.”

Lileep was only a few loads away, but you guess he just couldn’t let the pokemon push any harder.

Some clapping and mild cheers come from the workers. Not much, but more than you’d expect. Hana weakly lets the shovel drop. That spooks Glaceon enough for it to freeze the shovel in place before it gets a second bounce in. Glaceon goes back to grooming itself.

You run up and get ready to catch her if needed, but she’s locked pretty firmly in place.

“You did it!” You tell her.

“We did it, right Glaceon?”

Glaceon gives what looks like version of a shrug.

Some workers come by. You worry for a second, but they all offer quick but respectful words of congratulations.

“Good hustle.”

“Nice job.”

“Way to go.”

The last is the supervisor himself. He gives a very slight, but still deliberate bow, then offers her a small envelope. “I’m a man of my word. You’ve proven yourself. I was wrong to doubt your ability.”

“Thank you.” Hana replies. She also bows, but when she does, you can see a sudden shock hit her. She forces it away, but doesn’t grab the envelope. “Herb, could you get that for me?”

“Right.” You peel your eyes off of her. “Thank you, sir.”

He grunts respectfully. “Those limbs of yours, are they for sale somewhere on the mainland? I’d be interested in getting my hands on some.”

He and Hana talk for a short bit as he asks her all about it. She looks relieved he doesn’t seem angry at her. You only sort of pay attention, but catch his face turn pale when she gives a ballpark of the price costs from what she knows, and also that he says it’s not personal, but she should probably not come back to this or other sites again as a worker. She doesn’t mind that at all.

Laki’s dad offers her a deeper bow. “If I had that sort of hustle from the help I try to get,” his voice seems to direct towards his son, “I’d be a much happier man.”

Hana tells him he’s too kind, and you can see that as her heart rate slows down, her shyness returns and she becomes a little uncomfortable with all the attention. But the work day is over and everyone is busy picking up and taking off, so she doesn’t have to deal with it much longer. You and everyone else get their pay for the day.

“Herb, you worked very hard today as well. With both of your permissions, I, respectfully, will carry Hana back.” He seems a lot more sensitive towards Hana being yours than somebody else, even if you do feel a little weird having your permission being a concern. Hana’s face conveys that she’s okay with that. Something does seem to be bothering her, though, even if this isn’t it. She’s just got a strained look. You suspect she’s cramped up or something, but she doesn’t want to make a fuss or have you use your powers.

I've been having hard drive crashes a lot and thought I had fixed it but apparently not. I can't complain too hard considering it's like 10 years old though.

“We’d really appreciate that, thank you.” You tell Lake in response to his issue to carry Hana.

“Sorry for the hassle.” Hana says.

“Don’t be.” The stocky, strong carpenter bends down so Hana can be put onto his shoulders. She hesitates for a second, not having the strength to do it herself, and seemingly pretty concerned about how she’s lifted.

“Are you okay?”

“Y-yeah!” She says, wincing for a half-second before hiding it. She reaches her good hand onto your shoulder for you to help lift her up.

It’s become obvious to you that she’s pulled or hurt something, and she’s covering it up. First thing is first, you’re going to heal that. You close your eyes and try to focus. You place a hand gently on her back.

This feels harder. You’ve been getting the idea that doing things with aura is a lot easier on people that are relaxed, as well as if you’re relaxed too. That there are all these streams of different types of energy in a person and when they’re tense, they pull in and you can’t really see or maneuver or manipulate as easily. There’s a strong river of energy you recognize as pain, kept relatively in check by being hemmed in by other energies as long as she keeps herself tight.

Besides what you’re able to sense from her, there’s also the stuff you’ve come to know as floaties. Bits of stray energy here and there that seems to be a sort of spillover that occasionally comes off of living things around you. You’ve never done anything with that before because you’ve never really paid them much mind. But the more practice you get, the more you think you might be able to use it.

Hana’s pain, whatever it is, feels pretty big. And with her as tense as she is just being in a social setting, let alone after today, it won’t be very easy.

>That just means you have to try a bit harder. Go for it! (more draining)
>Try to address the most critical areas lightly, without disturbing anything (harder, but in theory takes much less energy)
>Try to funnel other, outside energies to help you (huge learning experience, possibly dangerous)
>Wait until your home, even if that means Hana might keep insisting there’s no problem

You try to focus your healing energies towards where you feel they’re needed most, and do as much as you can to address the immediate issues or be where they need to be to make natural healing a lot easier for her later on. You’re no doctor and have no idea how effective that might be, but Hana looks visibly relieved. And you don’t feel significantly drained. It was a success! You put the crystal back into your pocket. You don’t think you’d have nearly as much focus without it.

But right after, there’s a sad expression on her face. Sad and apologetic. You know her, and you know she didn’t want to make you worry or feel obligated to use your powers, but she also didn’t want to hide something from you either. “Sorry.” She mutters. “You noticed anyway.”

“Of course.” You smile, petting the ever-watchful Gobble. “I always notice you.”

“Having trouble back there?” Lake asks, not able to see what’s going on.

Oh right. You help lift her onto his shoulders. She hunches over to keep her balance.

You and Gobble help carry the rest of her.

“Sorry to you too. I keep being a bigger problem.”

“I’m the one who owes you an apology." Lake responds.

Hana looks back to you to see if you have any idea what he’s talking about.

“I don’t like to discuss this, but I owe you an explanation. I viewed, and still view, the difficulties I had in maintaining two wives as entirely my own failures. Mistakes in judgement, lacking control, lack of conviction, and other problems. And so when Laki brought you in, I ignored you and focused entirely on Herb. I can see now that you’re also a person of good moral character. Stronger than most men I’ve known.”

“Oh. Thanks. But it’s not me. I’ve just got some strong legs.”

“That’s not what I meant.” He says, hitching her up a little.

Hana doesn’t know what to say to that. The rest of the walk is in relative silence. Laki’s older brother hasn’t joined you at all.

Gobble, whose been watching the events all day, seems to still be making up his mind about what to take away from it. He didn’t have to work that hard, but he was essential in holding some trickier pieces together and did a lot of running back and forth to fetch stuff. You think he might have picked up a bit about framing, at the very least.

But you still feel like you should help him out a little. You want to keep it simple so it sticks. You’re not sure if you should emphasize something he sort of already knows so he can cement it into who he is, or touch on something he’s weak on to help round him.

>Nah. Let Gobble think for himself
>Teach him that it’s important not to hide things, like Hana did
>Teach him not to push himself, like Hana did
>Teach him that sometimes you’ve got to make a stand for what’s right even if it’s scary, like Hana did

“What did you learn today, Gobble?”

He thinks for a second, then makes a hammering motion.

You laugh. “That’s good, but what else?”

He thinks again. This time, he makes a shovel motion. You’re about to stop him so you can explain a more personal lesson, but he stops himself first. He puffs out his chest and looks up to some invisible foe who must be much taller than him. He’s not a bad actor, because you can see him imitating one of Hana’s mannerisms. Then he goes back to shoveling.

“So you already picked it up, huh? That’s right. Even when it’s scary or hard, sometimes you just need to stand up for what’s right.”

He looks at you like you’re silly. Of course he already knew that. But still, he looks glad to hear you say it out loud.

“But you don’t have to do it alone, or recklessly. I’m always going to cheer you on, so if you feel you need to throw in the towel, or ask for help, you need to speak up about it. I won’t always be able to know when you’re hurting too badly.”

He absorbs that with more seriousness, but still gives you the cutest hug on the leg after. You return it, and he goes back to looking cool with his scarf right after.

Lake stops at the front of his property, and sets hana down gently onto the wide wooden fencepost.

“Hana. Herb. Gobble. Glaceon. As a father, it’s my duty to help Laki when she needs guidance or help. I see now she has become a capable young woman,” his voice struggles very slightly on that line, “who exercises good judgement in who she’s with. As I grow old and you grow up, I’ll be happy knowing she’s in your care. You’re fine people, and it makes me very proud to welcome you, formally, into my home.” He bows

You bow back. Hana does too, although it’s pretty hard for her.

“Thank you, sir.” You say.

“Call me Powa.” He says. You glance to Hana, but she isn't sure what that means either. Is it a title or nickname or something else? “In my eyes, you’re already a man, Herb.”

Those words resonate in your head. This huge, muscled, strong, direct, stoic barrel of masculinity just recognized you as a man. Your head

He opens the gate and carries Hana inside. Abigail and Wahine are there, chatting. Kai is in his room from what you overheard, and Laki is out on a walk somewhere.

“Do you need anything?” You ask Hana as she finishes plugging her legs and arm in.

“A shower. So, so bad.”

“Just around the corner, dear.” Wahine takes a quick pause from her chat with Abigail. “There are clean towels in the closet.”

“Thanks.” Hana says, then pushes herself up a little. Is she planning on just waddling there? You know she doesn’t like to be trouble, and you’re sure she feels like she’s given her fill of it to people around her, but still. And if Lake called you a man, does that mean he’s okay if you went with her? Is it less manly or less respectful to pretend like you and Hana haven’t been naked around each other? You feel a slight discomfort about last night.

You’re torn. What if Hana’s back is weak right now and she slips? What if you ask Lake if it’s okay and he puts it together that you and Laki have also been naked together. What if...gah!

“Want me to come with you?” You ask.

“Or on me.” She mutters before catching herself. But then another worry besides saying that out loud hits her. She looks around and whispers. “Wait, are you serious? They’ll hear us for sure! Unless we’re really careful, but even then, that’s so scary and exciting and...I mean...” Thoughts start to turn in her head. “If we were really careful...”

“I meant for washing.” You say. “I know you can normally handle it, but it’s been a rough day and all.”

“Herb.” She looks really upset. “You’re too nice! No matter how much of a pain I am you just...” Her face changes a little. “You’ll keep being you. Okay. But don’t let me get too used to you pampering me all the time.”

“No promises.” You say, lifting her up. Hey. This is getting easier.

You look around as you and Hana go to the bathroom, and nobody seems to say anything.

You and Hana get to washing. It’s a strange experience for both of you. For Hana, she’s struggling with wanting to be agreeable but not ask too much of you. She seems to be making a lot of progress there. She’s been able to do it before, but you guess because of how much focus she’s gotten today she’s burnt out on it a little.

Tirtouga and Togepi are in here with you, but they’re just hanging out. The turtle ends up being rode by the egg, until some slippery soap gets on them and Togepi slides right off onto it’s butt.

“Careful.” Hana laughs.

Togepi does not heed her words at all, and instead decides that this presents a great deal of potential fun by sliding around.

You and Hana chat a bit, and relax. It’s a fun time, really. You wash her hair since she’s way lower than you. She washes you back a little and makes sure parts of you are very, very clean, but stops herself before she gets out of hand.

“Abigail’s a good friend.” Hana says.

“Yeah.”

“Pretty cute, too.” She adds. For some reason, this feels like some sort of test. Not a big one, but a probe from her. You’ve heard dad say girls will test you sometimes about stuff like this. But Hana’s not like that. She’s honest and direct. Well, she did hide her injury, but that’s different.

That's a good question, Anon. I don't think it'll be as easy as all that. Abi has some hang ups about sex that wouldn't allow her to be part of the harem even if that what Herb, Hana, and Laki wanted. At least not without talking it out and figuring out her issues. I agree that Herb isn't ready for another girlfriend no matter who it is really, but maybe Hana's leading to just some fun experimentation among friends? No matter what way we go it's going to take a lot of communication and openness of all involved.

It was during Laki's and Jane's first battle. Herb took the brunt of an attack and puked, Jane got angry and shoved him back into it before walking away from the now ruined battle.

Thread 3
>You stretch and move your muscles. “Nah. I feel gr-” Oh no. You’re still really confused. You barf as you stumble backwards and fall right into a puddle.

Why couldn’t you just have died instead.-

>You look down at your barf covered shirt and puddle soaked pants. It's just clothes. You feel fine. And it's nice that she asked. Plus with your luck this sort of thing isn't uncommon. “Yeah! Thanks.” You give a thumbs up.

“Good!” She pushes you back into the puddle. She calmly walks by as you fall, like she just swatted a fly.
>>
>>2462399
It was way back in either the 1st or 2nd thread. And it was more implied than out and out stated. We botched her fight and ate a sonic attack to the face and puked. Then Jane came over and pushed him down when he was just standing back up.

You think. You guess the best answer is the honest one, of course. “Yeah. She is. Although her outfit isn’t the most flattering at times.” You pause. “Well, the dress she wore last night looked great, actually.”

Hana seems to like that answer. Her face is always very expressive. "Yeah. She doesn't have good taste in clothes like you and me, but that dress. Woo."

“Why do you ask?” You wonder if Hana was making a self-depreciating sarcastic joke about her taste in clothes or not, but that's a topic for another time.

“No reason.” She says. You think you heard her add the word ‘yet’ after but that must have been your imagination.

“Yet?” You venture.

“Oh. heh.” She looks down. “I did say that, didn’t I?” She says. “Umm. Just remember you said you like that i’m a pervert, okay?” She struggles to focus. Her face is pretty crotch level and she’s been okay with that so far, but it seems more distracting now. She always finds some object in a room to look at instead of keeping eye contact most of the time. “It was really just a stray thought. One of those fun little fantasies. Like pretending I’m your maid and your my master. Or that your family adopts me and we live together and then things get all sexually tense as we grow up and we sneak around. Or you’re a trainer and I’m a lusty Gardevoir. Or I get stuck in a window somehow and you find me and take advantage. Or-”

“Hana.” You try to get her to focus.

“Right. Sorry.” She gets it together. “I just thought, in a purely and totally theoretical situation sometime in the distant future, it would be pretty hot to include her sometime.”

>What about (other character)? Keira, Jane, Valeire?
We know Laki was attracted to VAlerie, hindsight being what it is. Keira from our shared soul dive was both very repressed and very open, and Jane is likely to take anything, literally anything as a competition.
If we're doing one we might as well go through them all.

Realistically, how would this work? I doubt Herb would want to watch a gay tail his girls and while Hana might get off on watching Herb nail some girl, Laki wouldn’t. I feel like a bi girl is necessary, so everyone can share. Then it’s gotta be somebody everyone trusts enough. Who does that leave?

Hana is bi, Laki is blonde sexual, Valerie is bi, Abigail has some bad history that's tainted sex in her mind/repressed it, Kiera is the only one we haven't got a real clue on for being bi or not. She says she's been kissed in the temple before though, even if she didn't particularly get it because lol repression.

You picture the scene in your mind for a second. You, Laki, Hana, and now a bouncing, eye rolling Abigail...

Despite something happening to your body that you really can’t hide with advanced techniques like the old belt tuck you totally invented, you laugh. “There’s no way Abigail would go for something like that!” This is so awkward. It’s funny, but also just silly. “I think there’d be better luck with Jane!” You further the joke. “Or maybe Keira, or, well, actually Valerie would be the most likely, I guess, with Laki and all.” Your laughter slowly fades as the joke turns into a weird mental exercise. You look down to make sure the lack of laughter isn’t because she’s upset.

Earlier today Hana looked at you as if you were a little kid who said Santa was real. Now she’s looking up at you like you just proved to her that he is. Magic and awe sparkle in her eyes. “You. Are. Perfect.”

Hana’s head comes a little closer, then she opens her mouth and-

“Hana.” Your voice is coarse and your eyes don’t focus well. “I thought...joking.” Woo. Okay. Focus. Get it out. “I don’t know how I feel about that.”

“I know.” She pauses her attack. “And I know I ask a lot. No pressure. At all. Just-“ She hides her face behind your manhood for a second. “Oh crap this is so embarrassing. Just know that if you decide you feel like trying it I will totally do what I can to make it happen.” And with that, she attacks again, feeling that it’s somehow less embarrassing than continuing on with this topic. Somehow, you feel a little the same way.

After the shower, you find it quiet in the house. You go to the backyard and see Abigail and Wahine watching Lake climb a ladder up to a disagreeable Onix’s neck.

“Onix would you just-” The ladder begins to tip, then fall over. Onix quickly catches it’s owner before he falls. But as he tries to reach for the scarf, Onix holds it’s face away. “Where did that thing even come from? You look like a darned fool!”

Oh. Onix has been wearing the scarf you made it. You guess you never actually told Lake about it. You guess he doesn’t really care for it. That doesn’t hurt. Nope. There definitely is not a tiny sting in your heart. You’re mature enough to know that taste is subjective.

Huh. Mace and Wailord are gone. Did Laki take them for some reason?

>Appeal to Lake to let Onix keep it

“Oh. Hey.” You come to talk to Lake. “I guess that isn’t my best work.”

Onix looks a little disappointed at that comment. Lake is just surprised. “You did that?”

“Yeah. I have a thing for fashion.” You say. Lake nods, remembering all the questions they asked last night. “And since Onix and Wailord were getting along well I thought it would be a nice gift.”

He gives it a second look, this time seeing the little Wailord design on it. “Glad you told me before I went after those neighbor kids.” He mutters. “I didn’t know you sewed, too.”

“Well, just a little.” You say, sort of wishing you did more now that you're on the subject.

Lake sighs. He looks up at his Onix. The precious pokemon he has such a soft spot for. The one he raised from an egg. It gives him the biggest, cutest eyes.

“Well alright. Keep it on. Just stay below the fence line.”

Onix lowers down and wiggles it’s whole body like a tail. Lake pets it’s head and tries to sneak in whispers about how good of a boy it is when he thinks you’re out of earshot.

It’s getting pretty late. You still have a gym and temple to visit tomorrow. How are you going to spend the rest of the night? That is, assuming you’ll still make time to call Valerie, home, and Keira tonight before bed too.

You decide to go look around for Laki. After politely interrupting Abigail and Wahine as they chat over some wine, you learn that she took some of her old stuff and went towards a small park nearby. Hana slides herself up to the table to join them.

It takes you awhile to find the place Wahine described. This island is a lot hillier than you would have guessed from the map.

The architecture is a bit different too. New and old designs sort of blend into each other. You can see modern looking buildings that still look like they have more traditional design elements too them. There’s a clear respect for trades and skilled work here, even if the atmosphere can be a little formal or conservative compared to the other places you've visited. It’s a little intimidating to an outsider like you though.

Dice smells her scent in the air and leads you to her general direction, but it’s Belladonna who spots Laki first. She leaps off of your shoulder.

Laki, in shorts, a tank top, and using a large pole, freezes in place for a moment. “Bella!” She says. She looks up and spots you. “Soft Hands. What’s up? Lunch time?”

It’s well past dinner time. She must have been at this all day.

“I just wanted to come see you.” You say. “So, uh, what are you doing?”

She holds the pole and considers it for a second. You see Mace up in a tree after he signals to you. Laki looks like she’s made up her mind on how to answer. “I went to my room and found my old stuff. See where Mace is right now? That would have been 6th place at the games.”

She kicks up her pole, then runs! With incredible speed and power, she launches herself up and over. Your heart almost falls out when you see her go down, but she lands safely on a jolly Wailord on the other side of the bushes.

“I tapped it with my foot that time.” She admits. You didn’t see it. “I can make it over about half the time. I can make it cleanly about a quarter of the time.” She drops the pole. “I was pretty good. I’m out of shape and practice and I’m still decent.”

Her voice makes it sound like she’s more disappointed at being good than she would be if she was terrible at it.

“I had a real shot, if I actually tried.”

“Maybe you should train for the next games.” You offer. “If you want to.”

She hesitates. “I couldn’t. Nothing I’d want more than to get back out there and redo that day, but I couldn’t. I’d just make an ass of myself.”

“Well, as good as you are at that, you’re an even better pokemon battler.” You offer.

“As good as I am at making an ass out of myself?” She leans against the pole she just picked up. Bella imitates the gesture.

“No no!” You throw up your hands. “I meant-”

“I’m teasing you, Soft Hands. You’re still too easy.” She smiles. “And thanks. But even if that’s true, I couldn't win the league. Way too much competition. It’s just all so discouraging, isn’t it? As a kid you hear about following your dreams and making it big by believing in yourself and all that stuff, but it’s all fake. How many dreams were shattered just with this?” She shakes the pole. “Or a pokeball? Or something else? Almost everyone goes on a pokemon journey, and sure, most people don’t get enough badges to compete, a lot do, and only one team wins.” She tosses the pole to you and sits down. You feel the heft and weight to it, but get thrown off when Dice chomps on one end. “How do people pick what they want to do? Every time I get tempted to try for something I think about how pointless it is and how unlikely I am to succeed and just feel tired.”

We should spend more time working out with laki, near the start we promised we would and have been completely neglecting it. Helping her prepare for games would be a good excuse. Gobble was pushing for goals so it could be a good medium term goal to achieve .

On the topic of Hana wanting more girls, what do you think laki would react? How would the different dynamics even work?

Abigail laki Jane all feel like they'd be very similar, but each have very different psychological mindsets

We should catch up with kiera abit, I'm worried.
Also nega Fug or the racist gangs have gotten polu, I'm calling it

What clothes should we buy abi? Clearly she CAN dress herself if required so we could do a big shopping trip and dress up all 3?

Roleplay lewdbin with housewife laki and naughty teen Hana when
>>
>>2463053
A montage of role plays would be a fun lewdbin, especially given that incredible list Hana dropped. I wonder if Hana could teach Pokémon the move Role-Play?

As for goals, i’d like to see Herb pursue his aura training in a more focused way. There’s no equivalent to becoming champion or anything but just growing his abilities to the full extent that he can would be great. If we could start seeing auras as clearly as Jeneane does eventually it’d go a long ways to compensating for his inability to read people.

Plus, there are so, so many tasty opportunities for cool stuff!
>>
>>2463067
Speaking of aura: when Keira split, we kept the time flower, right?
>>
>>2462909
>I think maybe it's not about success. It's about being the best you that you can be. Whether that means focusing on one thing, or doing a bunch of things, as long as you aren't doing something you don't want to when you don't have to, you can hold your head up high.
>>
So let’s review:

Polu: a guy, Herb’s not into that.

Jane: working on her ability to form healthy relationships with people, unknown levels of interest or disinterest in girls.

Abigale: definitely not ready, possibly too straight to be into mfff.

Keira: probably has the right attitude for it, possibly too straight to be into mfff.

Valerie: definitely bi enough, I give it a 50/50 she’d be down for casual group sex with her close friends.

I think Herb would, if he’s comfortable with the idea, would ask Abi, Keira, or Val.

The logical next step is to see which of those three, if any, Laki would be comfortable with propositioning, and in what ranking.

I’m assuming Val is #1 but I don’t know about the others.

Personally, I see Herb going for trying swinging once to see how he feels about it.

Though condoms are a must.

Through the D we are binded, by the D we are united.
>>
>>2472045
It's less that she's number one and more that the other girls have also shown obvious signs of desire for her. Kiera's the one I'm hoping for most if there's only room for one more but Laki was a bit afraid for cultural reasons and I can't remember Hana ever crushing on the priestess.

Abigail is goddamn perfect in that she and Laki have this strange angry friendship and Hana may just grow a bit of her dom side by coaxing the redhead into her debauchery.

Jane is for being friends.
>>
I forget if I mentioned this, but:
I’d like Herb to remember his drunken master episode, or at least have it recounted to him.

For one, he seemed to have a bit of a breakthrough with his aura understanding and it’d be a shame to have to rediscover it/ be inefficient with his energy again.

Secondly, it was a nice bit of character growth and would likely inspire Herb’s confidence in himself further.

Thirdly, because Herb seemed to discover some things the girls liked that he could repeat (I’m especially a fan of that self-affirming stuff with Hana.)

Lastly, by understanding better what all Abi’s seen, it’d be easier to proposition her.
