You are Ushi Walker, the half-japanese/half-american wielder of the mighty quirk “Everything is Bigger in Texas", U.A High first year student and wrestler in training.

After realizing that your quirk, no matter how powerful it may be, can only carry you so far on its own, you enrolled in the Tigers' Den Dojo to capitalize on your natural strengths and learn how to handle yourself in a fight.

Judging by the fact that you survived the attack at the USJ, it was a good call, but you still need to train and improve if you want a genuine shot at winning the Sports Festival.

So this week's session you are trying to get your first stripe, the Tigers' Den own version of other martial arts' belts, requiring you to show your teacher what you know.

Which is why your wrestling teacher is currently sitting on your abdomen, pressing your shoulders against the ring's canvas and using her quirk to imitate a clock, going tic-toc and daring you to topple her and win your stripe.

>"Well, what are you waiting for, kitty cat? Giving up already?" Spring Tiger taunts you, counting the last seconds of the first round.

There are a few things most people don't know about you, and most you'd like to keep that way. Your wooden skeleton however, it's not one of those. Light and strong but most importantly, limber.

So you thank god for what you inherited from your Pa and raise your legs behind your teacher's back, turning your femur and knees a bit more than normal and placing your ankles on her shoulders, trying to cross your heels under her chin and throw her off.

You feel a flame of pride burst inside your chest as you spot the surprise in the uncovered parts of Spring's face when you managed to do it.

But it doesn't last long, as she just lets go of your shoulders and grabs your ankles instead, and for a second, you think that that's your chance and try to use your hands to lift your back off the canvas.

>"...Thanks!" Your teacher says, pulling on your ankles.

That's when you knew you fucked up. Your knees and hips started to hurt, as they were being bent in way in ways they shouldn't be, but it was your back that suffered the most, as using her shoulder as leverage while mounting you felt like she was pulling your pelvis away from your spine.

You manage to not scream for a few seconds, then it stops.

>"And that's a wrap!" Your teacher says, standing up and lending you a hand. "Ready for round two, or are you ready to call it a day?"

>What do you do?

>["Round two! And I'll win this time!"]

AGAIN!!

Spring tiger must be smilling because since we are so limber it means she can go a little bit more rough with us.

Eh she uses her quirk as a taunt. Now that is a creative use for it.

If we choose to fight again would we have to go through an entire sequence of votes again? I think I want to train up and try again next time instead.

You take her hand and rise to your feet, stumbling for a second.

"Round two! And I'll win this time!" You tell your teacher, placing a hand on your lower back and applying a bit of pressure. "Just… Gimme a sec, alright?.. I need to-"

>"Are you okay?" She asks you, tilting her head and looking at you hop off the ring and limp for a few steps.

"'yuup! Just… need some water" You answer, twirling your hand around as you walk to the restroom. "I think this may be my first back pain?"

>"Yeah. Right." She replies in clear disbelief. Whoever designed this masks managed to make them very expressive for something that covers most of your face. "Go get your water, but don't fill up. That can get messy."

"...Any other embarrassing tips?" You ask her without stopping, looking over your shoulder and rolling your eyes.

>"Don't touch any of your bruises! That's the cutman's job!" She happily tells you, standing in the middle of the ring and raising a finger.

"Okay…" You say, wondering about that last tidbit.

You go into the women's restroom and take of your mask. No swelling on your face, but your teeth look a bit pink and there's a red line in your tongue. Looks like you bit your tongue at some point… Other than that, there's only that dull pain in your lower back.

"Getting mighty beaten, ain't I?" You ask your reflection as you pat the areas where Shoto's Bokken left you sore. "Ah guess it's for the best in the long haul. Villains ain't gonna stop at beatings."

You cup your hands under the faucet and drinking your fill, but not too much.

In a minute, you are hopping back on the ring, wearing your white mask and ready to rumble.

>"So, second round!" Your teacher says, smirking. "Both of us a bit more tired this time… Think it'll matter?"

"Honestly? I don't care." You tell her, cracking your neck . "I'm getting that stripe!"

>"Nice! Never give in, never give up!" She says in an unfamiliar sing song tone. "Ready?"

You nod and she lets out the sound of the bell, indicating the start of the round.

>"RAWR!" Both of you shout, assuming your stances once more.

You grimace as you start closing the distance, knowing that you'll have to repeat your moves. You don't have any more tricks up your sleeve, being a novice and all that.

>What do you do?

This will be great to fight people with long range quirks too.

Also are we wearing our dojo mask as part of our hero uniform? I just realized we don't have nothing to cover our face.

We don't need to cover our face. This isn't a comic book. Hero Identities are public.
>>
>>2461608
Yeah i know. using our mask is a obvious way to expose our figthing style. I just thought it would be cool and would be a way to honour our dojo.

So eventually our outfit becomes a patchwork of all out fighting styles signature attire?

I think not we already have an American flag patch on our outfit, if we’re going to honor our fighting style somehow, I’d rather we get a patch with the dojos name and become a walking billboard than a hodgepodge of unrelated clothing styles.

Sheer power, an impeccable technique and blinding speed.

All the power in the world could be behind your blows and it would do nothing if you can't connect a hit, your perfect technique can always be overpowered and speed alone is worthless if you can't make those precious instants work for you.

Each one is important… But you can play favorites.

You only walk one step towards Spring Tiger, opting to get your ass in gear and give it your all. You sprint and lower your head before kicking off the canvas, reaching forwards with both arms.

It's funny. She has outsped you every time you have sparred and this one is no exception, as she sees you charge and tries to sidestep you.

You just adjust your arms slightly and catch her anyway, driving your shoulder into her side and knocking her down.

"A reverse mount you said? Mmh?~" You taunt her back as you slam over her on the canvas.

As in the first round, you hold her down for an instant before trying to roll under. But this time, when she tries to spin and disengage, you intercept her with a forearm to the abdomen, dropping her back down like a bag of bricks.

"That one goes somewhat like this, right?" You ask her, as you hook your legs around hers and immobilizing her arms with yours, pressing your chest against her back to block almost all movement from her part.

>"...Yep! That's exactly what you should have done the first time!" She says, and you can see her wiggle her head, probably to nod. "Still gotta-"

"Keep you down, got it." You interrupt, squeezing as hard as you can on every joint as you can. You are so close to end this!

Blood chokes are dead simple, quick, clean, and very safe.
Air chokes by comparison are difficult, dangerous, sloppy, and take for god damn ever.
One of the most basic blood chokes, and what Ushi was in position for here, is the Rear Naked Choke
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rear_naked_choke
Neck in the crook of the elbow, other arm applies pressure on the back of the skull, and flex the bicep.

The first round dragged on and wore both of you out, and while the tiredness didn't all go away with a sip of water, you can't stop yourself from grinning as you restrain your wrestling teacher. A small voice on the back of your head reminds you that she's holding back, but the sound of your own blood pumping through your veins helps you drown it out.

This is not like your quirk which you were born with, even if you were the one to hone it.
You earned this, through beatings and bruises, you carried on and pushed your body till it hurt to move. And you aren't going to stop now.

A back mount is hard to escape out of, but not impossible. Someone skilled, like your teacher, can press her head against the canvas and undo one of the mounted's leg hooks with her other leg before rolling both into her guard. Were she to do that, it'd be game over.

So when you feel her turn her neck and twist your leg, you enact your lock.

You let her undo the hook and free her leg, but before she can do anything else, you lift out other leg, along with hers. This makes a small space under your knee in which slide your free ankle, forming a "4" shape, leaving one of her legs fully restrained and the other unable to do anything but stomp on the canvas. Not the best lock with that name, but sometimes the old and trusty catch wrestling suits the sitch better that your favorite puroresu.

After that is just a matter of changing your hands positions, grabbing her right hand with your left and pressing her left arm against her chest with your own. That left your right arm free to grab her shoulder and compress her rib cage, pushing her back against your chest.

Not exactly a textbook execution, but more than good enough to hold her in place for ten seconds.

Or twenty.

Thirty? It takes you a few seconds to realize that something may be wrong as her thrashing finally slows down and starts just scrapping the canvas, but when you hear her wheezing breaths, you immediately let go of her.

>"RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING-RIIIIIING-RIIING-RING!!!-wheez-" She goes as soon as you stop compressing her ribcage.

"Sorry!" You tell her, frantically looking around as she catches her breath, dashing for her water bottle as soon as you spot it.

>"Eh, It's fine! But for the record, you should stick to blood chokes for your knockouts." She says sitting and laughing before accepting your hydrating offering. "You have too much padding on the front to knock out someone by compression in less than a minute."

You take it at face value and nod, watching her drink before continuing.

>"Good work kitty, you earned your first stripe." She tells you standing up and hopping off the ring, tipping her bottle in your direction. "Come here, let's make it official."

"YEE HAW!" You holler, stomping your foot on the wooden floor in a well deserved bout of happiness before skipping her way. "On my way!"

>"Hey, you sound like you are getting your fifth, not the first one!" She says, entering a small office you hadn't seen before.

It's just a cosy place, with the walls full of pictures… And she's wearing the same mask on all of them. Some look fairly new, with what look like her previous students, and some look like they were printed long ago… impossibly long ago, in fact.

"Are these?.." You ask, pointing at a sepia looking picture of Spring Tiger and a man in a similar mask.

>"Oh, that. Those aren't all mine, but they are all Spring Tiger." She answers, opening a small wooden box and pulling a pretty decorated, penlike tube. "That's the great thing of masks and symbols, they live on.

Looking closely at the walls, you can see what she means. There's a lot of tigers. Red and black ones and black and silver ones are sprinkled all over the place, and there's even a pink one in a picture almost hidden in a corner. But the most common are the yellow ones, mostly men, but also a few women sporting an all too familiar mask.

>"Now, consider yourself…" She says, grabbing your head and sliding the tip of the tube down from between your mask's ears to the space between your eyes. "Officially part of the den."

You puff out your chest in pride and cringe slightly. It reeks of chemical solvents.

"...Did you just draw it with a marker?" You ask her, scratching behind your ears, not the mask's.

>"Nope! I just uncovered the stripe within the mask! Think about it before going to bed." She tells you, returning the tube to it's box. "Now, before I start giving you a first hand experience with some new tricks, you've got to tell me, what's different?"

"... A stripe on my face." You answer, pointing at your mask.

>"Not that, silly kitty! Between both rounds!" She clarifies, opening the office's door again and walking back into the main dojo, motioning for you to follow. "You lost one, and you won the next. How did that feel?"

You grab your chin and think about it.

"I feel…"

"... accomplished, proud. I learned what I had to and I'm ready to move on." You answer, smiling proudly and letting go of you chin, raising your fists over your head. "I reckon it feels great!"

>"Ain't that right!? Hold onto that feeling, kitty! Because things don't get any easier from now on." Your teacher exclaims, placing her hand on your shoulder. "In fact, let's head back to the ring. I need to show you some some other submission holds and a few ways to knock out someone."

"...With the dummy?" You ask, feeling her hand's iron grip on your shoulder.

>"I remember saying I'd give you some first hand experience." She says.

You sigh and follow her to the ring, straightening your back and smiling eagerly.

It'll hurt, true, but it doesn't matter, you are used to that. You look forwards to showing off what you can do at the Sports Festival!

By the end of the day you had passed out enough times to forget the exact number, and every inch of your body hurts like hell, but with a ride on the janitress' van you manage to make it back to momma's house before collapsing on your feet.

You still keep to your routine, despite momma's and your own body's complains.

Without the much needed time to rest in your blanket burrito shell, thursday was an exercise on patience.

You just went through the motions, doing your best to reinforce the notes you took when studying with Momo and stay focused. No one said anything out loud at lunch, they are too polite for that, but you didn't need any explanation as for why would anyone snicker at you.

Why else would they? It's Ushi walking around, with her arms and legs covered in dark spots and blots, you know, like her namesake.

...But you just let it go. Nothing can go worse than blowing a fuse when tired, and It's U.A, after all. Daisy is the closest you've come to call anyone here malicious, and that's still debatable.

After classes, you just go back to the house and review your notes for a few hours, noting how classes catched up to what you studied last weekend.

Luckily for you, your bruises finish reabsorbing by friday, and you can focus on your classes and on staring down anyone who looked at you funny during lunch.

You aren't ashamed to say that you didn't do anything productive friday afternoon, losing yourself in decade old cooking shows and updating your diary. You are pretty sure you would have won Hell's Kitchen.

So when you wake up on saturday, you find yourself looking up to your room's ceiling.

For the first time in a while, you have free time, without any previous compromise.

Even being part tree, it's hard for you to just stay put and do nothing.

And is not like you lack options, as you are just a call away from any of your friends and most of your acquaintances. It would take less than a minute to reach out for any of them and organize some sort of get together.

You could try to round up the girls and go shopping! Or go bother Momma about your bike!..

Either would be fun, but it doesn't feel like you'd be doing much.

Then you remember. It wasn't exactly a promise, and you said it as you were about to pass out, but you told Denki and Kyoka that you'd treat them and Momo to a homemade meal.

Cooking for three would be a fun and productive use of your time, while providing a good reason for your friends to come over!

"So, we all survived the villains at the USJ, and just… sort of moved on." You write, making your thumbs dance on your phone's screen. "I'm not saying that we've to dwell on that, but I think we deserve a small celebration. Come for dinner at 6 pm, my place, my treat!"

That would do nicely, you think as you scroll over the names of everyone whose number you've got.

Yeah, they are the three you directly owe your survival to, but why would you stop there?
How long has it been since you hung out with Fumikage? Or talked with Sato? And why would you leave Kirishima and Mina out of this? Shoji and Tsu are just pleasant to be around, and you wouldn't leave Shoto out of a gathering!

All in all, you end up ticking the "Class 1-A" box and the ones next to Pony and Itsuka's names, inviting each and everyone of them to the small house.

Oh boy.

You jump out of bed and almost roll downstairs, running towards the kitchen and the fridge.

>"Hun? Wha-... W-what's going on? It's saturday!" Momma's sleepy voice asks from upstairs, yawning.

"When was the last time we got groceries?!" You ask back, yelling as you turn the fridge upside down.

>"Last weekend? While you were at your friend's place!" She says, and you can hear her carefully climb down the stairs. "I know there's not that much left, but there's some stuff in the freezer. Why are you asking? Do you want to cook today?"

Maybe you overextended a bit, but it's still early!
You quickly unlock your phone, to see if you can abort it before anyone sees… Nope. Momo, Shoto, Shoji, Iida, Fumikage and Grapes already confirmed they are coming.

You look at the past-their-prime vegetables and think of the frozen meats.

Quantity is one thing, you can enlarge most ingredients a few times over before it messes up the texture, but you can't make frozen or old ingredients fresh again. More often than not, quality dies in the freezer.

"Yeah… for you, me and about twenty more." You tell her, coming out clean from the start. "But I reckon it's starting to look like a bad idea."

Momma blinks slowly before dragging her hand up her face.
>>
>"...Alright." She says, laughing a bit. "Never thought I'd see the day you'd be throwing a shindig. What's the plan, hun?"

"I need to go out and restock. Heck! I didn't think this through! I… If I get my ass in gear I can still pull off a barbeque, but I won't get to do anything other than manning the grill!" You tell her, then looking back down to your phone.

Damn. Sero and Koda just confirmed too.

>"Where are you even going to set that up?.. Do we even have a grill?" Momma asks, tying her hair in her time-efficient ponytail and letting it fall on her shoulder.

"Yeah, I brought mine. It's in the shoebox in the guest room." You explain, pointing up. "And I can use the roof. It's like… the only option, really."

And you aren't lying.
The house was cheap enough for your family to buy as soon as you saw it, but it's not without reason. Like most japanese houses, it has no yard at all, neither at the front, nor the back.

The closest thing would be Momma's flower garden, which is just the five yards between the house and the sidewalk put to good use, and you aren't going to trample on that if can avoid it.

Another factor as to how cheap the place was had to be the number of floors. Most houses you've seen have three floors and an almost flat roof, perfect to hang the laundry and the like. Since momma's hooves already give her trouble with one one flight of stairs, you don't really count that as a negative.

But that flat roof with a somewhat decent view of the city would be adequate. Not the same as cooking with your feet on the grass, but it would do.

"Agh! Even if the damn barbeque turns out great it'll only be one course! I just don't have enough hands!" You lament, dragging your hands up your face and pulling on your own horns for an instant, then looking at your concerned looking mom. "I know I should have asked before even starting this, but… Can you help me out, please?"

In a second, your mother's hands clasp yours and pries your fingers open.

>"I guess I'll better get ready and give you a lift too." She says, pulling you close with her tail and giving you a one armed hug. "We'll be hitting the grocery store, right?"

"Yeah, no need for anything fancy." You answer, returning a full hug. "Thank you for not getting mad, and thank you even more for the help!"

>"I'm just happy you are getting along with your classmates." She says, untangling your bedhair with her fingers. "Now let's hurry and get ready, I'm not letting you poison a whole class and then some."

You miss many things about America, but even when you were there, you still prefered the japanese style bathing over a shower. And you haven't outgrown that, nor do you think you ever will.

All in all, it takes you about an hour to get ready and another one to get what you need, fresh point brisket, fresh new york strips, fresh 15% fat ground beef, some other fresh produce to cook with and for Pony or any other vegetarians, along with some fish, just in case. Not that much of each, just enough to feed six, but you can stretch that with your quirk.
>>
With three hours remaining and Momma's help, you are fairly confident in your ability to pull this off, despite a rocky start.

>What do you do?

You know all the characters in MHA have some issue they need to get over, like Bakugo's anger or Todoroki's daddy issues.

Ours seems like the cow issue, I think the best way of dealing with that is sort of to accept it while at the same time not letting it define us.

I do also think it would be interesting to meet some of the cowgirls from Hokaido.
I know there's some sort of farming thing but is that bad and are they pushed by family and social pressure into it or do they just like it?

Three hours to cook for over twenty guests.

Were it someone else in this situation, you'd be rushing to help. It's not something you'd expect from anything less than a team of four, and only if making large, shared dishes like a thanksgiving turkey.

But that just means that anyone else would be overwhelmed, not you. You have the tools, the skill, the know-how, genuine love for your craft and the best help you could ever ask for.

Not only is your mother an amazing cook, but is someone you can work with in perfect synchrony.

>"Alright, your party, your call." Momma says, handing you an apron and putting hers on. "What are we cooking?"

"Something american, but the best of it." You tell her, putting your apron on and grinning. "I'm thinking homemade patties for burgers and salt seared steak and barbecued brisket as the main dishes, with skewers as appetizers. Maybe toss Pony a salad, and some full vegetable skewers for ones for her and any vegetarian or other kind of god forsaken soul who rebukes meat."

>"Oh. Okay." Momma says, her smile faltering for just an instant before pulling a sharpening rod and a chef's knife from the drawer and honing the edge as steel knives need. "I'll start with the marinades for the skewers. It'd be dishonest to soak the veggies on the same juices as the meats."

"Cool." You reply, firing up the burner and setting the salt block on it, low heat for now. "This thing here needs some time to heat up, so I'll go get the charcoal going and come back to make the patties, an hour on the freezer should be enough to keep them from falling apart."

After such a busy and hectic week, some may think that you'd prefer to lay low and rest for a while, but they couldn't be farther away from the truth.

You made the next two and a half hours of your life some of the most stressful and trying ones in your life (life-or-death situations notwithstanding), running up and down the stairs, making homemade patties out of ground beef, mustard, thinly chopped red onions and pice, then making sure to rub your meat and briskets to keep them soft and juicy and checking first on the charcoal and the salt block, then the steak and brisket as they cooked.

And you loved every single second of it.

Breaking a piece of the same piece of charcoal you've always used, enlarging both halves and storing one for the next time, getting just the right temp on your old and now giant kettle grill, applying just the right type and amount off seasoning and oil to each cut before setting them on the grill and mixing the patties with your own two hands before giving them their puck shape and stuffing them in the freezer and the smell of it all…

There's just something great in all of this that makes everything worth it.

They say that the difference between a passionate cook and someone just going through the motions is as clear as day and night, and you agree. Both you and Momma are at the top of your game today, with every single part of the massive endeavor looking like the work of professionals, but with decent portion sizes.

You use those last thirty minutes to add a last touch to the dinner party. You can't avoid using every metal and plastic piece of dishware in the entire house, but you can make the table itself special.

While the most important part of your wood carving kit was forced to stay in the airport back in Houston, you still got your wood samples to come with you to japan.

So with the carving knife that Momo let you keep the first day of classes and an enlarged block of katsura, you carve a nice and homely long table, the size of your forearm.

You couldn't feel any prouder as you set the last red cup on the enlarged table on the roof, just as someone started knocking on the door.

"I'll get it!" You yell, running down both flights of stairs.

>"Slow down! You'll end up in the hospital!" Momma scolds you, as you dash by her on your way to the front door.

The fact that you didn't make her drop the skewers tray was more luck than skill, but you chalk it up as a win.

"Howdy!" You say as you open the front door, smiling warmly while greeting your classmates, hugging each of the new arrivals as they stepped inside. "Glad you could make it!"

>"H-hey!" Denki says as you hug him, returning the hug. He doesn't let go until you do.

>"Hello. Did you get my RSVP?" Momo asks right before you hug her, having a bit of trouble to clasp your hands together behind her back.

>"... <Hot Grill>? Nice." Mineta says, reading your apron's text. "It'd be even better as a bare apron, but it's not wrong."

You just give him a pat on the shoulder. It was that or a kick, and you'd rather not hit him.He gets enough of that already, and it's not working.

"The dinner's on the roof, come on!" You tell them, marching up the stairs and coming to an end besides the top of the stairs, motioning towards the spread Momma was finishing on the table. "How does it look?"

You feel fairly smug, looking at their amazed expressions.

>"It looks and…" Momo starts, waving a hand towards her face. "It smells delicious!"

>"Man, I wish I'd skipped lunch." Denki says, rubbing the palms of his hands together.

>"Pretty, large and soft enough to lose yourself in." Grapes declares.

"Damn strai-" You start, interrupting yourself as you notice that his line of sight is not quite pointing at the table, but at your mom.

>"Heya everyone!" Momma greets the three who came earlier than expected. "Don't be shy and make yourselves at home! There's enough beef for everyone!"

>"I bet." Mineta says, making you feel doubly insulted.

It'd be rude to fully dig in before the rest arrive, but you bring the skewers tray closer to their picked seats.

I really enjoy Ushi's dynamic with Mineta, sure, she's just as sick of his shit as anyone else, but being a foreigner(or American rather)/used to worse(at least that what i get from references to her prior school life), she has a completely different way of dealing with him and is actually willing to try to fix his behavior

Huh, I just realized we're almost like a cross between Mt lady and Kamui woods, I wonder if they'll ever have kids.
>>
>>2468200
I mean, I ship it.
Honestly though, busting out meta-knowledge for a second, I think Ushi might actually get a GOOD internship out of Mt Lady, considering her backstory and stuff. I get the feeling she manipulated Mineta because, well, he's mineta.
>>
>>2468322
Mt Lady isn't that bad really, sure she's sort of vain and selfish but she's still a hero.

Andnow that i think about it Ushi could actually be a good influence on her
>>
>>2468398

her action in the fight against all for one was pretty much an ultimate sacrifice reaction, sure it wasnt going to kill her, but she enlarged without thought to stop the villain from catching up to the kids
>>
>>2468200
i ship Kamui and Mt.Lady. The fact thT she is doing a hero officer with him in canon doesn't help.

I wonder if Kamui can reconize that our horns aren't fake just at first glance.
>>
>>2468455
You're now realizing that their dynamic is similar to the dynamic Ushi could have with Iida.

>>
>>2468496
What, you don't see the comparison in a serious, earnest guy with an irreverent, flirty gal (who's actually got some significant issues related to her quirk underneath the hypersexual exterior)?
>>
>>2468507
i honestly think that ushi got better on that fron, after she got closer to the others she almost stopped doing her hyperflirting altogether
>>
>>2468507
Not really. Kamui recognizes Mt. Lady is just a flirt, and is kinda tired of her attitude.
Iida doesn't realize Ushi was just teasing and things she was genuinely into him.
>>
>>2468515
Also Kamui wood isn't quite as much of an autist as ilda.

And even if it's true just shows that there's a canon "couple" who already have that dynamic meaning we'd be a copy.
I do like Ilda as a character, but honestly I think he'd work better with Momo.

So I'm curious, who do you guys want to fight in the tournament.
I think my ideal tournment would have us replace Mina or yuga and fight Shoto in the finals.
Not sure if we could beat Bakugo, and Tokoyami would probably be a tough fight too.

Normally, there'd be the traditional thanks for the meal but without the rest of the guests and with the appetizers on the table already, Momo just looks confused as Denki just grabs a skewer and… Bites it sideways.

You wait with bated breath as he chews, expecting to hear his opinion on the steak, zucchini, onion and mushroom skewer, but there's nothing to be heard beyond approving moans until he finishes the entire thing. A fair compliment on its own, really.

>"I've never had a gyuniku like this!" He says, letting the wooden stick fall on his plate. "Can I have another?"

"Glad you like it sugar!" You say, smiling and giving him a hearty pat on the back. "Take as many as you want, just make sure to leave room for the main course!~"

Seeing him eagerly grab another skewer, you walk to the other side of the table to see to Momo, who is currently hovering her hand halfway to the tray.

>"I apologize for arriving early, I planned to wait outside, but Kaminari decided to ring the bell." Momo says as soon as you get close, bowing her head.

"Oh no, Nope! None of that nonsense!" You tell her, placing your hand above hers and gently dragging it toward the tray "Especially from one of you."

You look at Denki, gleefully enjoying his second skewer and then place your hands on Momo's shoulders.

"...I'd be charcoal if it wasn't for you." You tell her, maintaining your smile. "So you better take that skewer and try it before I jam it in myself, got it?"

She nods slowly and hovers her hand over the tray, as if looking for the best skewer.
A pointless endeavor, you know. They are all the best.

Having been to her home, you aren't surprised when she spins the skewer over her plate, looking at it from all angles. It's obvious she knows her way around fine dining, but you remain confident in your and momma's work.

So when she bites the first piece and slides it off the skewer, moaning slightly, you just cross your eyes and smirk.

>"Whede dith thou lern tho make thith?" She asks with her mouth full before noticing and swallowing, blushing red. "I-I'm sorry... I don't think I've ever tasted something quite like this. This is amazing!"

"Mostly from momma, some from TV and the rest is my own twist." You answer, touching your nose with one index finger and pointing at your hidden ears with the other. "My hearing's a bit broken, but my nose is really sensitive. It helps a lot to sense every change as you cook."

>"So, no formal studies?" She asks, perplexed as you shake your head. "No chef training? An apprenticeship, then? Not even a cooking camp?"

Still you shake your head to each of her suggestions.

"Nope." You say, counting with your fingers. "Practice, passion and lots of cooking TV. That's all."

>"That's… Hard to believe, honestly." She says, pointing at you with her skewer. "I've had professional chefs whose specials didn't compare to this."

"And hold that's just the appetizer!" You tell her excitedly. "Wait until the rest get here and we bring out the bestest stuff!"

Leaving her to enjoy her skewer at her own pace, you go to talk with the one person in the roof not thinking about the food.

You can put up with a lot, and you are pretty sure you can endure most perverted gazes and comments. But Momma doesn't need to know any of it.

"Hey man, that's my mom you know?" You ask him, sitting next to him.

>"I figured." He answers, looking at Momma as she carefully goes down the stairs, her bell ringing softly with each step and her tail sticking straight up in alarm. "There's a couple of large resemblances."

"Ha-ha." You laugh as fake and sarcastically as possible. "Really though, chill out. I invited y'all to break bread and be friendly, if not outright pals. So stop trying to undress my mom with your eyes, she's married. And my mom."

>"I really want to meet your dad now. " He replies, briefly confusing you. "He must know some amazing secrets."

Really? That's what he takes from that?

"Look, I'm just tryin' to reach out and all I'm getting is sign after sign telling me to give up." You tell him, pinching the bridge of your nose. "Every other gal wants to either keep you away or hit you, and I'm running out of reasons not to. At least try to respect my family while on my roof."

>"Hey, cut me some slack." He answers, finally looking at you. "I'm staying hands off you, and now your mom, that's pretty hard already. You can't ask me to keep my eyes closed too!"

As the doorbell rings once more, you say one more thing before going down the stairs.

"...I shouldn't have to ask for common decency. And grab a damn skewer ready." You tell him, standing up and reinstating your smile,l.

At six sharp come Iida, Shoto, Koda and Sato, with the later handing you a tray of cupcakes, "for the bother" he said.

And you barely manage to show them the table before the doorbell rings again, with this cycle repeating until practically everyone is at the roof, chatting and showering you and momma in praise for the skewers, something you proudly accepted while Momma downplayed her collaboration and said you did practically everything.

Only Deku didn't come, apologizing via text. He said he had something already scheduled for his saturday.

With a full table, you set to grilling your homemade patties in front of your guests, and serving them just out of the grill. You just add a slice of grilled onion and one of cheese to each burger before serving, for that extra kick of flavour.

Once more, the best any of them ever tried.

>"I've made better." Well, anyone except Daisy, sitting at the opposite side of the table. "Besides, I don't really think you made this."

>"Uh. That's the spiky one." Momma comments before sipping her tea cup.

Normally, you'd be pissed at that. A competition to crush him at would have not only crossed your mind, but you would have heatedly challenged the offender.

Not today though. In a party dedicated to the spirit of friendship and pardnership, being so hostile would have been akin to shooting yourself in the foot. Condescending and smug though? That'll work.

"Yeah, whatever, I don't care what you think." You smugly say as you wave him off, serving yourself your own burger. "Maybe you can throw a class party after the next time we get attacked? Then you could cash the checks your mouth writes."

>"IT WILL BE THE BEST FUCKING PARTY OF ANY OF YOUR SHITTY LIVES!" He replies, shouting at your back.

"And I'll be glad to attend, sugar!" You yell back, walking towards your own seat.

Halfway there, when you pass by her seat, Momma's hand grabs your arm and stops you.

>"Is he always like... this?" She asks, leaning backwards and looking over your shoulder

"...Sort of?" You answer, making a conscious effort to not mention how he's generally worse. At least he didn't use your nickname. That could have gone terribly bad.

>"Nobody likes him." Pony says from her seat next to Momma, adding her two bits to the conversation. "Like, at all. Angered every non hero class. Bad PR."

And Koda, sitting at Momma's other side, nods in agreement.

"Yeah… Mighty curious that." You deflect as you shuffle away, trying to avoid bringing up how you did something all too similar.

Still, as you walk away, you look back to both of them as they all resume their happy chatting over theirs salads.
Momma even takes off her choker to let Pony and Koda have a closer look at her bell. It's a heartwarming image.

You take an instant to stop by Fumikage's seat and force a second burger next to his half eaten one.

"I've not forgotten the battle trial." You tell him. "You need to get some meat on those bones and start working out."

>"Dark Shadow does most of the fighting." He points out. "And thus my prowess does not depend on my strength."

"True…" You admit, dashing off for a second and returning with a third burger to leave on his spilling plate. "That one is for Dark Shadow. Just... let me get away before you let him out."

>"THANK YOU!!!" The shadow's voice comes a couple of seconds after you run away.

You are never risking getting near Dark Shadow without a flashlight again.

"Howdy there, still don't believe it?" You ask Momo as you sit in the free chair between her and Shoji, taking an instant to turn around and talk to him. "Hope you are enjoying the meal too, big guy!"

>"I am, thank you for meal and the invitation." One of his hands replies as his head nods and the rest hold the burger and eat.

"I hope each of those tongues is working." You tell him, seeing him eat with multiple mouths.

After getting a nod in response, you turn back to your Class President… and Class B's VP.

>"Yeah, just chatting with Yaoyorozu here. I think I'll crib your schedule system, it looks like it'll work better than asking for volunteers." The redhead says before biting into her burger. "Damn. You should sell these after clubs are dismissed. I bet the guys in the sports teams would kill for an after workout burger."

"I'll keep that in mind!" You reply with an earnest nod before finally focusing on Momo. "Again, sorry!

>"No need to apologize, you are our host after all and I think I might have found some common ground with Vice President Kendo." She says, shaking her head and leaving her second burger on her plate for now. "But I'll admit, I should have expected a different and transpacific approach to taste differently, even if the quality is still nigh unbelievable."

"Thank you, I could hear that all day." You say, feeling your ego soar with the knowledge that some professionals were beaten by a teenage girl.

As both of you just take a couple of minutes to wolf down your burgers, it's hard to not think about your similarities. While your upbringing s are nowhere close, and your similar body types are the most obvious point of comparison to any third party, you'd have to point out quirks and appetites over that.

She can make anything out of nothing, but in limited amounts. You can make anything endless, but you need a sample. And both of your quirks require a caloric intake that goes far over what a normal girl of your age range should even think about.

Heh. If she had been with you when you went to fix Tin, you could have made tiny pieces and grow them to fit…

"So. Have you ever thought about the support course?" You start, trying to strike a conversation.

>"Not really. As long as I have my costume dictionary and my quirk, I don't need to request anything else." She answers shrugging before asking her own. "Did you have to visit their studio? I thought your belt had the same effect."

"It does, for the most part." You answer, sliding a hand into your pocket and clasping Shoto's molten coin. Tin's favorite toy. "Not much help with patching up a damaged robot though."

>"Oh. That reminded me, I had meant to ask about Tin's whereabouts." Momo says scratching the back of her neck. "Did you get someone to fix it?"
>>
"'yuup! An upperclassman that looks like he needs a sandwich and a girl our age that may need to switch to decaf. Not only are they fixing it, but they'll give it an overhaul. Turns out they do pretty much anything in exchange for some materials." You tell her, picturing the lanky boy and the hyperactive girl in your mind. "Thought we could go take a gander over yonder sometime this week, I reckon that if not for a favor now, it would be good to have the connections to call on when needed, right?"

>"You'd be right." Momo agrees. "It's a no cost networking opportunity."

Right now we’re at 9 votes for inviting Momo to stay the night and 5 votes to invite her over to study at our place tomorrow.

As for who to talk to immediately, it’s
Momo 5
Urarara 5
Jiro 3

Since we’re gonna see a bunch of Momo in a bit, I recommend people switch over to talking to Jiro right now. We don’t want her to think we’re mad at her for skipping out on our birthday!

However, if urarara does pull ahead and win, I suggest not trying to pay her in food? If there are leftovers just announce that we want people to take some home. You can ask her to take some to midorya since they seem close if you wanna push that though.
>>
>>2471986

>>
>>2471986
I don't see why there has to be a split. Just talk to momo a bit first, since all were really doing is asking her her number, if she wants to go out some time, and if she wants to stay/come over. Takes maybe five minutes for all of that, if we cut the small talk, and even then that's not necessary since party's last a while. Then go over to urarararara and give her some food, tell her its for deku, then jiro.

"Neat-o. Hopefully we can make the time sooner than later." You say, nodding and leaning over the table, looking down it's length for an instant. "Are you busy tomorrow? Thought we could have a study session slash class rep. reunion?"

>"Not particularly busy, no." She answers as she politely cleans the corners of her mouth with a brand new napkin. "I'd be glad to have you over once more! Without any backlog, I'm sure could get even further beyond than last week!"

You don't really have problem with studying, and It's nice to see her so excited, but its just something… boring.

You are happy to call all the gals in your class your pals, but you haven't had the time to hang out that much with them, except for Mina and Momo.

With the later, you have spent long hours frying your brains with books and class protocols. With Mina, and Kirishima who was always there, you have a hard time looking for a boring minute in your memory.

With Momo…

Well, other than that time you were fighting for your life, you don't have a single unpleasant moment, but nothing actually fun.

You never doubted she would agree to a study session, but while the last one proved to be extremely useful, it's not exactly the kind of friendly bonding activity you'd like, even if you are glad to be able to do that again.

"...Wanna stay the night?" You suddenly ask her, surprising you both. "We could have a slumber party today and leave the study and duties for tomorrow!"

>"...I've never have attended one of those." Momo answers, seemingly dazed.

"Nor have I!" You admit, pulling her into a one armed hug. "But it sounds fun, doesn't it? Pillow fights, binge eating, movies..."

>"...Board games, scary stories and more!" Momo says, overtaking you and adding to the list. "I got to call mother and tell her to send someone with my books! Can we play the pop up pirate game?!"

"Sure!" You answer, not actually knowing what's she talking about. Happy people seem to make you happy, and you don't have any reason to shoot her down. "You go do that, I got some more hostessing to do right now."

Hoping she would understand, you bolt around the table, taking the long way and taking mental note of those who were ready for the next dish.

While you aren't the most nimble of people, knowing full well that you fall over with ease, you are more than adequate enough to carry a plate of stacked briskets on one hand and a barbecue fork on the other as you return, dropping the juicy, salt seared beef on the plates of all who needed them.

Turns out hosting a party, even one of the dinner kind, is a lot more work than you expected.
Luckily for you, if you can call that luck, you are pretty used by now to getting the most bang for your buck when it comes to time.
>>
"Hope you liked the burgers, now lemme show you something even better! Wagyu B4, seared, sealed, and juicy!" You announce as you shimmy along the table, filling once more the plates of Sero, Kirishima, Mina and Tsu, in that order. "It may be crossbred, but in good hands any cow's just as good as a purebred. Trust me, I know. Try it! It melts in your mouth!"

>"Man, I'm glad you pulled me off training for this." Kirishima says before straight up stabbing his brisket with his fork and bringing it to his mouth, tearing a piece off with his teeth. "Ah luuv eet."

"Glad to hear I'm not the only one busting her ass to impress at the festival, but I guess everyone should take a break once in a while too." You reply, nodding in what you hope looks like a wise manner.. "And Ah'd say a hearty meal is the best break you can get before goin' back to giving your one hundred and ten percent!"

>"I… don't really go out of my way for greasy stuff, really." Sero comments, dragging his finger through the juices in his plate. "But I've to say that meat beats soy this time, no contest. Less protein, but better much better price."

>"Less protein. Right..." Mina says, smiling smugly as she cuts into her brisket, pointing at Sero with her fork. "That's one way to put it. I think prefered "larger portion needed", but I don't like lying to myself about my diet."

>"Who told- Hey! ...It's an improvised planned break day, okay." Sero feebly defends himself, managing to get both you and Mina to giggle, and Kirishima to choke on his meat.

The back blow Kirishima got from Sero might have been a bit of an overreaction, as it got the redhead to wheeze for a second but that only made Mina start laughing out loud.

>"I just like the food." Tsuyu interjects before anythings escalates further. "Thanks for inviting me, Ushi. It feels nice to have someone to cook for you once in a while. Ribbit."

>"Yeah, sorry. It's really good, no excuses." Sero apologizes, sheepishly scratching the back of his head.

"Don'tcha worry, it's okay. As long as y'all like it that is." You tell him and your nearby classmates. "That's one great thing about cooking, everyone gets to enjoy it, both the cook and the diners!"

>"Maybe I'll see how it feels the day I learn how to not burn salads. You'll be the first to know!" Mina comments, giving you a playful punch in the arm.

"Well, you know who to call if you need a hand with that." You tell her as you go back to refill your plate, rubbing your arm.

Man, she hits like a dude.

Still, a slightly sore arm is no reason to stop or drop your smile. It'd take something way worse to drop your mood now.

Most briskets were received with a nod and a quick thank you, which you were happy to return, but you decide to do something a bit more grand for the last three boys. Considering one of them is one of your best friends, another one is who gave you the salt block you cooked the briskets on and the last one… Well, you just hadn't talked to him in a while.

"My first time cooking with the salt block, haven't heard any complaints yet…" You say as you walk by Denki, Shoto and Iida, sliding the briskets into each of their plates. "But I'd like to hear what you guys think, okay? Be honest now!"

It's somewhat interesting how they go about it though. Shoto politely cuts a single piece to bring to his mouth while Iida reduces the entire piece of brisket to cubes before trying any of them. Denki's approach is more similar to your own, as he just cuts it in half and stuffs his mouth with one of the pieces.

"So? Whatcha think 'bout it?" You ask, holding your plate in front of your apron and rocking back and forth on your heels.

>"No clu haw, buth id's bedder than the burhers." Is Denki's full-mouthed verdict, along with two thumbs up.

"I'm taking that as a two out of two!" You tell him, turning towards Shoto. "How 'bout you, sugar?"

>"Hmm… Impressive, but unsurprising." Shoto says after his first bite, looking at the second piece now on his fork. " Great as expected, Ushi. I hope you can share some pointers later."

"Whenever you want, pal." You reply, patting his shoulder.

>"I, however, am surprised." Iida says, pointing at you with an arm. "With the amount of practice needed to develop such level of skill I would expect some some strain in other areas."

He then looks back to his perfectly cubical bits of brisket and stabs one with his fork, bringing it to his mouth, clearly enjoying it before continuing.

>"Yet I don't see any kind of slacking. In fact, judging by how you raise your hand in most classes and how badly bruised you were not long ago, I'd say you are actually doubling down on you efforts." He says, finishing with an honest smile. "Seeing you do all that, and now knowing you still make time for a hobby… It makes you quite an inspiring sight for me, even if I still wonderwonder why."

...
There are many things you can thank working at the ranch back home for, but the one you are currently thanking for is your tan.

...It makes your blushing harder to see.

"Uh?.." You let out, abashed and confused for a couple seconds. "Aw… well... shucks sugar! That's… uhm… Thanks..."

>"Cough!-cough!-bootlicker-cough! Sorry, I was choking on the sap." Denki says. You don't know why though. There's no sap in the brisket, you'd know it.

"Well… I feel like I gotta try, you know?" You say, crossing an arm under your chest and using it to hold your elbow, holding your chin with your other hand. "I don't know how this sounds in japanese but… I'd like to have have a family at some point down the line. Maybe it's just the christian in me trying to ignore how hard it'd be to balance with heroics and how terribly it can go… But why the heck wouldn't I try?"

"Imagine coming home to a lovely dinner, spread out and waiting for you… I'd like to give that." You confess with your eyes closed. "Kind of a small town girl's dream... More of a hope really, but wouldn't it be nice?"

>"Yeah... It does sound pretty neat." Denki comments, crossing his arms and nodding.

>"Indeed." Iida calmly adds at the start, before starting to crumble away. "It sounds like a wholesome life goal… Maybe… if you aim for a... fellow hero?"

>"...That is pretty in line with japanese customs, Ushi." Shoto comments. "And it is not that hard to balance with heroics, as the Iida and Yaoyorozu lineages confirm. Unless you marry an abusive asshole who torments you until you lose your mind and lash out in madness that is. Or a salaryman. Then he will come home drunk and far too late."

It was some sort of winter anti-miracle. All your warmth and fuzzy feelings just froze and fell, shattering against the ground, making you wince in the same way dropping a glass would have.

"...Thanks for the reality check. I guess?" You say, slowly backpedaling away.

No one seems to blame you, as both Iida and Denki scoot their chairs away from Shoto, who just continues eating his brisket like nothing had happened.

There's no better cue possible to get the hell out of dodge, but you may need to talk about that later

But with the party starting to wind down and every course served, there's not much left to do.
What's left though, is a small pile of leftovers.

In the heat of the moment, you cooked twenty three full courses, forgetting that Pony doesn't eat meat, and assuming Deku would show up.

Pony's vegetarianism isn't that big of an issue. If she's anything like you under the hood, she can live a full life without touching a steak. Although you'd argue that it wouldn't actually be a life, it's not your place to mess with a nice vegetarian. She didn't raise a fuss over the meat, you won't raise a fuss over her lack of taste.

Deku though…

You can't blame him for having plans on the day of your improvised party, but it's such a shame that he'll miss what could be your best work yet. And freezing such tender meats would destroy everything that made them special in the first place! Not even leftovers deserve such fate!

Only one thing to do.
Get his dinner to Deku's place!.. And get someone to take the leftovers. You'd usually eat them yourself, but between the tasting, your own dishes and the cupcakes you plan to eat during tonight's slumber party, you are pretty sure it'd be a bad and embarrassing idea to stuff yourself.

While the american tradition mandates that you spread the tupperware around the globe, you have to make do with a couple more bento boxes. Plastic, cheap, and more importantly, not being currently in use, they make for a perfect way to accommodate a full dinner and the leftovers for transport after you add a few inches.

Who's gonna transport them though?

Well, that's easy. Not the most voracious of your diners today, but up there.
And she could certainly use the free food.

"Ochaco!" You loudly proclaim as you drop the small stack of boxes on the table next to her plate, the impact dislodging the lid of the top one. "Think you could do me a solid?"

>"Uhm? Sure. What's i- It's that a full dinner?" She asks, looking at the box in wonder.

"Sure is! A few skewers, meat and veggies, two burgers and a brisket. They may be getting cold, but a few minutes of heating and it should be as fine as cream gravy!" You explain, pointing at each item in turn.

>"...Thank you so much!" She says, standing up and giving you a traditional two armed hug that you waste no time returning.

"Hey! What are we so happy about all of the sudden?"

>"A free three courses meal?" She answers as she lets you go off the hug, suddenly unsure.

"Oh… Yeah…" You say, tilting your head to the side and rubbing your arm for an instant, before putting the lid back on the box. "Sorry about that, but no. The dinner's not for you."

You then open the other box. It doesn't look as pretty, but it smells great to your sensitive nose.

"You can have the leftovers if you want though!" You tell her, pushing the open box a bit in her general direction. "They may not look like much, but trust me, you'll love them."

>"...Thanks. I guess." She replies with an odd smile, putting the lid back on the box. "What was that favor again?"

"Right! Can you bring Deku his dinner? I know you three hang out together all the time, so I reckon you know where he lives, right?" You ask her, tapping your fingers on both of the plastic lids.

"Just imagine his face when you bring the bento to his door after a day of hard training! Picture the poor boy, all red and sweaty, practically burnt out." You tell her, placing your arm over her shoulders. "Just before he goes to take a shower and drop on his bed, you get there, ringing the bell with a bento just for him. He'll love-"

It, you were going to say, before Ochaco cut you off.

>"eeeeeh… Well… You see… He lives on an apartment complex a few stations away from my dorm." She says, touching the tips of her fingers together and looking a bit more flush than usually. "So, you know, I can't really go because… it's too late?"
>>
Well… It is getting late.

"...Dang. How do I get this to him then?" You wonder out loud, raising an arm and stretching your back.

>"Well, his neighbor is still in the class…" She says, looking a bit shaky. "You should ask Daisy. They've known each other since forever, and they still live pretty close together."

"...They are neighbors?" You ask in disbelief.

...He lived and still lives next to his bully?.. Deku deserves every good thing that comes his way. Starting with an amazing dinner.

>"Yeah… If it matters, Deku says Daisy's has softened up. Not sure what that means though, it still looks pretty rough to me." Ochaco comments, looking down… then she looks back up to you. "...Can I still have the… Ugh. Leftovers?"

"Sure, suit yourself." You answer grabbing your chin, thinking and looking down.

I think Shoto and Maybe Momo could do with another one as well as Momma, that leaves us with one more for anything that comes up.
>>
>>2481224
I wouldn't mind putting one on Momo. We have really good synergy with her to begin with, so more chances at crits helps.

"Thanks for the info, Ochaco." You tell her, briefly looking back to the end of the table and the blonde boy sitting there.

>"No problem, Ushi." She replies with a small bow and a faltering smile. "Thanks for the… scraps."

"Enjoy 'em!" You tell her, tipping your hat slightly. More of a tap, really. "I'll go see if I can pull Daisy's head out off his ass…"

You take the carefully prepared bento box and start walking towards him.

Seeing him carefully inspect every bite of his brisket, you can tell he wasn't fully speaking out of his ass early. You know you did your own cooking, but you can believe he has attended a grill before.

"Yo, D-Bakugo!" You say as you get near him, prompting him to stab his fork and knife down ...in your beautiful table, and cross his arms. Ass.

>"Sup. Nice brisket, soft and juicy. You know your stuff." He replies with that shit eating grin of his. "When can I try yours?"

"...I'd tell you to bite me, but I think you'd actually do it." You say, raising an eyebrow and taking care to place the box between the two of you. "Can you drop the attitude for five? I wanted to ask you a favor."

>"Get bent." He tells you, making you wonder how much innuendo can a teenage boy fit in a conversation? You know you could do quite a bit when you need to baffle someone.

"Look, I need you to get Deku his part." You tell him, carefully leaving the box by his plate. "I reckon you live nearby and can drop it on your way. You can tell him it's mine and fuck off."

You stare at him and go over your cards. Flirting won't work, he's been around you enough to try and get his hands on you and you wouldn't consider that. Owing him a favor?.. That could even end wor-

>"Okay." He says, shrugging. "I'll do it."

"I'm not- Wait, what?" You say, interrupting yourself. "Just like that?"

>"Sure. I just want to see his face when I bring it to him." He explains, leaving you even more confused.

Is he… For Deku? Can your barn door even swing both ways?

"...A lovely dinner?" You ask for further confirmation.

>"Did you get the bolt already? That's what I just said. I'm fucking dying to see his face." He answers.

"But that's wrong…" You weakly interject, not really knowing what to say.

>"Blow me." He says, cutting you off.

Not knowing what to do and having dropped your package, you backpedal and make some distance.

"Good luck!?" You doubtfully wish, quickly walking away.

Boy was that awkward.

While it doesn't feel right with you, you aren't sure if you should do anything about it.
Hopefully he'll clean up his act and get a nice girl. If he actually goes down the path of sin…
Maybe you'll sneak a bible in his backpack or something.

Not the best thing to think about in a party though.

Luckily for you, you catch someone you hadn't talked to in ages in the corner of your eye.

"Kyoka!" You call her name, seeing her walk by with a plate in hand.

But instead turning back and returning your greeting, she lowers her head and shuffles away, faster than before.

"Hey! Pal?" You ask her, looking at her back.

Not getting a reply a second time, you put your ass in gear and catch up to her.

"Hey, it's something wrong?" You ask her, placing your hand on her shoulder and clasp, stopping her in her tracks.

In what you can only assume was a reflex, her jacks whip over your hand, missing you by less than an inch and making the characteristic crack of all whips. You don't budge though. Mainly because you want to know what's going on, and partly because you don't care for whipcracks.

"You didn't like it?" You ask her, trying to find why she's avoiding you.

>"Uhm… N-no! It's… great, really. All the meat and ...stuff." She answers, finally turning around and shifty looking at you.

Probably on your first days you would have taken that at face value and go on your merry way, but this is one of the gals that saved your life, and even more importantly, a friend.

"That's good to hear." You tell her letting go of her shoulder and throwing an arm over her shoulders instead, softly pushing her head to make it rest on your shoulder. "Now sugar, mind telling me what's actually bothering you?"

You don't have the sheer height to do this the same way Momma does, but you don't need to. Even without listening to your heartbeat the homely and warmth feelings of support should be enough to relax her, even if the action itself is sappier than your skeleton.

>"... Aren't you mad?" She asks you after a minute. "I said I would play something at your party and then skipped it."

"Nope." You answer without missing a beat. "I mean, sure, I was a bit disappointed I didn't get to see you there, but I figured you'd have something more important going on."

>"Yeah... That'd be less stupid than being too embarrassed of doing karaoke in front of seven people..." She replies, holding her jacks and touching the tips.

"Yeah, pretty much." You admit before tightening the hug. "Doesn't mean shit though. I would have liked knowing beforehand, but if you don't like karaoke or don't wanna hang out for any other silly reason, I'm not going to force you."

>"No hard feelings then?" She asks pulling back from the hug and looking at you.

"Nope! But you owe me a hangout!" You tell her, giving her a punch in the arm. You see her wince slightly but wave it off, she's a tough girl. "There's eight or so hours of Ushi missing from your life, and I intend on cashing them soon, got it?"

>"Sure." She answers, extending a fist forwards. "Whenever you want."
>>
"I'll hold you to your word this time." You reply, grabbing her fist in a handshake. Japanese people don't know how to do it right, it seems.

As soon as the handshake ends, and she starts looking at her hand in confusion, you grab her by the shoulders and shove her towards Momo.

"Now you better go have fun before this party dies, ya hear me!" You yell behind her as she stumbles forward.

You feel like a kid with a box of fireworks on the fourth of july, not only Kyoka won't spend the next three years trying to avoid you.You are also having a slumber party tonight!

Does it even count as a slumber party with only two gals though?
You don't know, but there's a quick way to fix it! Get a third!

You could invite any of the gals, but this is a golden chance to get to know one of them better, and you have a clear candidate in mind.

"It feels nice to have someone to cook for you once in a while." Tsu said when you went to serve her, some minutes ago. Oh, and she also croaked.

It intrigues you, in a way. Does she cook for someone else? Is it her family? What's her family like? If she's fine with staying the night, you could ask those and every other question you could think of.

So you walk to the side of the table to stand next to Mina, Kirishima, Sero and, most importantly, Tsuyu.

"Heya Tsu!" You call your fellow mutant's attention. "Are you free tonight?"

>"Uh? Yes. I'm free most weekends. Ribbit." She answers, placing her finger on her chin. "Why do you ask, Ushi?"

"I'm hosting a slumber party after this!" You tell her, a cheerful smile on your face. "Well… It's my first one. And it's just Momo and I for now… Wanna join us"

>"Ribbit." She answers, nodding and smiling. "It sounds nice. Could you lend me a pajamas though? Or an old shirt, that would work too."

>"We are having a slumber party?" Mina says, throwing an arm over your shoulders and smiling widely. "We are gonna have so much fun!"

Have a bit of an anachronistic interlude.
___
>"Oh, Katsuki! You haven't visited us in ages!" Mrs. Midoriya says the instant after opening the apartment's door. "It's really late, but I guess you are in luck, Izuku just came back from training if you want to see him."

>"Could you tell him to come? I need to give him something." Bakugo asked. Not being particularly polite, but not being as awful as he could be.

>"Right... Are you sure you don't want to come in?" The green haired woman asks, fully opening the door.

>"Nah, I'm good." The blonde boy says, waving her off and staying just outside the door.

>"Huh. Okay, I'll tell him right away." Mrs. Midoriya said, going into her home.

While the fact that Deku had been hiding a powerful quirk from him all those years still weighted on his guts like a ball of red molting iron, Katsuki held no ill will towards his mom. At worst, she was colateral damage, but not someone he'd go out of his way to bother.

Unlike her son, who approached the door looking like he was fresh out of the shower.

>"You need to check your fucking phone more often." Bakugo started, not giving Izuku the time to even say hi. "She wanted you to be there."

Just as he finished talking, he raised the bento box and held it in front of Izuku's chest.

>"I guess I shouldn't just silence my phone... " The green haired boy thought out loud before looking at the box and taking it from his neighbor's hands. "Who wanted me there?.. Where is there? And what's in the box?"

>"Walker. She had some chopping and grilling done on her roof, but I think I like her a bit more now." Katsuki explained, trying to not smirk too hard. "That'd be some of her skewers, one of her burgers and a cut of her briskets. She made some nice beef, shame you missed it."

And there it was. First confusion, then the shadow of a smile before his face settled into horror.

>"She texted you, you know?" Katsuki said as one last twist of the knife. "But you never came."

And with that he left for his own home, not looking back. He'd figure it out at some point between now and monday, but it was nice to see that he could still get a rise out of him.

Izuku, for his part, opened the box and inhaled.
It all looked pristine, and smelled way better than it had any right to.

He took the box and placed it on the kotatsu, placing them both of his hands, palms touching, in front of his mouth.

He couldn't remember ever being scared of a burger before, nor ever thinking he would be, but the next thing he knew he was already on his feet and looking for his phone.

He really needed a quick check up on his class V.P.

Oh dear Jesus I think Bakugo actually likes Ushi.
Like, LIKES her likes her.
And is just being his typical abbrasive, autismal self in his attempts to get on her good side.
And Ushi, being HER autismal self misinterpreted it as him being gay for Deku.
Hell considering what his mom is like Bakugo probably thinks that abbrasive bullshit is romantic or some shit.
>>
>>2484247
>We often clash against him instead of taking his shit

>>2484285
Well duh. He's autistic. Kindness is flirting to him unless it's an insult. It's probably one of the reasons he's so angry at Deku for being nice, he reads it as creepy gay shit.

Because if we were like his mom? It would be.
>>
>>2484247
I thought we knew bakugo was crushing on Ushi since he tried to trick her into a cooking date.
>>
>>2484315
Honestly I chocked that up to an attempt by him to assert his dominance over the other guys in the class, combined with a bit of purely physical attraction, not an actual interest. Now I think he might actually have a schoolboy crush almost as autistic as Iida's.
>>
>>2484337
I assumed that he's just incredibly dense socially and had no idea what he was actually doing.

Yeah, you have no idea of what you are getting into, but that hasn't stopped you before!
Besides, getting more friends here who may actually know what they are doing might actually shore up that weakness!

"<Damn straight!>" You say, pulling Mina close and returning the hug. "Since you invited yourself, I guess you can stay, right?"

>"I'd made the time if I was busy." She says, smirking and tightening her hold on your neck and shoulders. "Can't let you mess up the sacred ritual of the sleepover, you know."

"HA!" You laugh, throwing your head back and tightening your own hold on her neck. "I don't think I could mess that up. Games, pillow fights, scary stories and… Lots of food."

>"You are missing the most important part." Mina tells you, her arm starting to feel an awful lot like one of Spring Tiger's demonstration. "...The girl talk."

"E-Eh, I'm sure Momo would know what to say." You say, struggling an instant to breathe and then tightening your arm around her neck, switching from "hug" to "chokehold".

>"...Momo." She says, raising an eyebrow while nonchalantly pulling down on your arm. "Not to harsh your mellow, but I think she'd be as clueless as you."

Up until that moment, it didn't quite land on you that there were more, nearby people on the table listening to your little talk.

>"I think Mina is going purple, and Ushi's looking pale." Tsuyu comments, looking at your little exchange.

>"...Should we leave them be or?.." Kirishima asks, poking Sero with his elbow.

>"Yeah? It's not like they don't know what they are doing." The plain looking boy answers, not looking at the redhead but at Mina and you. "Besides I never thought I'd see a tough girl friendly rivalry."

Sero then waves his hands in front of his face, invoking a certain feeling of cheap mysticism.

>"Middle school rumors says that if unperturbed, It'll eventually lead to a bout of mud wrestling." He explains to both Kirishima and Tsuyu, who was looking in confusion as well.

>"...Time t-to stop?" Mina asks, still squeezing you.

You nod and release her, being freed in kind.

"Yeah, that's not happening." You announce to the onlookers after taking a few seconds to stabilize your breathing..

It's obvious you'd win, anyway.

>"Oky! So it's you, Tsu, Momo and… me." Mina summarises, counting down with her fingers. "Sort of the minimum, but I bet we can make it work!"

"Too little people?" You ask her, getting a "more or less" sort of gesture in return. "Uh. Okay, that's easy."

Out of every possible problem you could have, that's the easiest to solve! You just have to invite the rest of your gal pals! That's three more right there!

And after your little conversation, Kyoka sounds like a good start, especially since she seems to be talking with Ochaco and a familiar no-face, all of which you'd like to invite.

Thus, there's no reason to go anywhere but close to them.

>"...doesn't like me." Ochaco is saying as you get within earshot.
>>
>"Nah, she's just a bit of an airhead. I think it's cute." Toru replies.

>"Can't blame her, I guess." Ochaco admits, raising her hands to the sides of her head and raising her index fingers for less than half a second.

>"That's… shut up and smile you two, here she comes." Kyoka says, turning around to face you.

Oddly enough for a person talking to friends, she was scowling for an instant before smiling.

>"...But I am smiling." Toru points out, raising her hand and… probably doing something with her hand. You can't really tell. "Oh, Hi Ushi!"

"Howdy!" You say, deciding to start by greeting Toru, being the only girl you hadn't talked with yet. "Liked the food?"

>"Pretty good, but a bit too salty for me." She answers with a shrug. "Sorry."

"Nah sugar. Normally I would make a few sauces, but I rushed too much today…" You try to excuse yourself while scratching the back of your head.

It was obvious it wouldn't be everybody's favorite, but it still stings your pride a bit to hear it.

"Anyway…" You say, lowering your hand and starting to segue into the topic you came to talk about. "I'm holding a sleepover tonight! It's Momo, Mina, Kyoka, Tsu and me so far! Wanna join us?"

>"Wait, I'm staying the night?" Kyoka asks pointing to herself.

"'yuup. You said whenever, right?" You remind her, taking a page out of Tsu's book and touching your chin "I'm just cashing it in right now."

>"I guess it wouldn't be cool to leave you hanging twice." She says, then shrugs. "I guess I am staying. ...Gotta call home though."

>"You'd have to lock me out if you didn't want me there, Ushi." Toru says, before leaning close and whispering. "...and I would be there anyway."

Nice! That's almost the whole class!.. The girls of the class anyway.

>"I can't stay, I need to be at my dorm before curfew, Sorry" Ochaco says, giving you a tiny apologetic bow.

Oh. Bummer. So close to having all Class 1-A gals together!

"You sure you can't call or somethin'?" You suggest, still trying to get all seven of you together. "I'm sure I can get Momma to confirm you are here."

>"...It wouldn't work. And I also got to go freeze-" Ochaco says, interrupting herself once she notices your glare. "...refrigerate my scraps."

"Remember, you can heat up cold meat, but you'll never fix frostbitten food." You tell her, hoping she'll learn the lesson. "Dang… I guess it's just the six of us then."

>"Sorry Ushi." She apologizes once more.

Having got most of the gals to stay the night, you try to not let the single turn down drag you down as you send most of your diners home with a smile. Bakugo got a nod of respect and an unspoken reward of a temporary suspension of the Daisy moniker until his next display of douchiness. Or monday, whichever happens later.

Soon enough, only you, your mother and six of your friends are on the roof.

"Alright! Now what do we do first?" You ask your pals after waving goodbye to the last of the stragglers.
>>
>"Are they staying to help clean?" Momma asks, looking at you and your friends. "How nice of them."

>"...You didn't ask for permission first?" Momo whispers over your shoulder. Even you can notice the disbelief on her voice.

>"A failure to plan your slumberparty is a slumberparty planned to fail." Mina says, deadly serious.

"Let me handle this." You tell them, taking off your hat and holding it to your chest.

It's all a matter of being able to tell her on your terms and introduce her to the idea, so you close close the distance and…

>"A slumber party." Momma says, crossing her arms and looking down at you. "We slaved away all day so you could throw a dinner party, hun. Why should I let you take our night too?"

Were it not for your quirk, you'd probably be wondering what makes her so intimidating. Turns out the main thing is just being your mother.
Although being 9 feet tall with imposing horns doesn't hurt either.

"How did y-?" You start asking, getting an answer before even finishing your question as one of her fluffy ears flicker and points at the girls. "Oh. I always forget about that."

"...But I already invited them. And they called home and everything…" You continue, holding your hat to your chest and looking up with the widest eyes you can muster.

>"Hun…" Momma starts, placing her hand between your horns and scratching your head. "I know I can't ask you to wrap your head around how everythin' works here yet, but having overnight guests- "

Whatever she was about to say got put on hold at the sound of a car horn in the driveway.

>"What was that?" Toru asks before you can do the same.

>"Sounds fancy." Tsu comments, leaning over the edge of the roof. "Looks fancy too. Ribbit."

Literally shrinking away from your mother, you peek over the edge yourself.

Tsu was right, it's a really fancy looking car that makes you wonder if it's actually a short limo or just a really long car. Anyway, it's fancy enough to look like it was a couple centuries old at least.

In a couple of seconds, everyone in the roof is looking over the roof's edge and at the car, waiting for anything to happen. But instead of honking again, the driver gets out of the car and opens the rear door, allowing a familiar woman to step down.

>"...Mamma." Momo says, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I'm sorry, I asked her to send someone, not to come herself and bring the car."

>"...That's Mrs. Yaoyorozu?.." Momma says softly, wrapping her tail around her leg and dropping her ears. "How come all these important names are showing up here of all places?.."

"She's really nice." You try to reassure her.

Seeing as the woman in question is just holding a suitcase and waving at you with a smile on her face, you can't really put your finger on what, other than her last name, makes Momma nervous.

"Sorry about the lack of planning…" You say, going the japanese way and bowing in apology. "I'm sorry y'all."

>"I'll go tell her to take us home." Momo says before turning around and walking for the stairs. "I think we can give everyone a lift."

>"No! nonono!" Momma says, waving down to Momo's Mamma for an instant before following Momo. "Let's go tell her everything's fine and dandy! Y'all can stay the night! No problems whatsoever!"

>"...Okay?" Momo replies before continuing on her way down.

Of course that you go along with them.

It's the weirdest conversation you've seen Momma in.
She just introduced herself and nodded while Momo's Mom introduced herself and handed the suitcase to her daughter, seemingly terrified of messing up in front of a big name…
And then they begun talking about tea, of all things.

After a few minutes of tea-talk and mother-talk, both Momo and you share a glance and a shrug, returning to the roof to meet back up with the other girls.

"Alright… That was weird, but we got greenlit in the end." You say, clapping and rubbing your hands together. "How do we start this thing?"

The instant you finish that sentence, a white fluffy pillow smacks you over the head, being brutally impaled on your left horn.

It's almost surprising how all of you turned to face Momo, who apparently realized her mistake.

>"...I thought pillow fights were supposed to be spontaneous?" She asks, lightly blushing.

>"You usually wait until there's pillows around to have a fight with." Kyoka points out. "And for Ushi to get corks or something on her horns. They are sharper than they look."

"Thanks!" You say, taking the gored pillow off your head. That may be the first time someone said something nice about your horns! (Without touching them!)

>"Pillow fights are just before sleeping." Toru says holding the box of cupcakes you got from Sato. "So first come the romcom movies and the sweets!"

>"I dunno Ushi." Mina says, holding her chin. "If we leave the girl talk for later, some may try to avoid giving up her secrets until it's too late…"

>"If pillow fights aren't an option now, can we start with some board games?" Momo says, opening her suitcase and pulling out a wooden tea display box and a couple of opened and unopened board games. "I never got to play the three-or-more players ones!"

>"I'm fine with whatever you choose. Ribbit." Tsu tells you when you look at her. "I don't have any secrets."

Our Mom is being, like, the most lenient. Let's cut her a break?

>Clean up to go easy on your poor mother

Then

>Board games plus GIRL TALK and SWEETS

I figure since there's no option for girl talk we might as well put it into the board games. Plus, it's not like we can't eat sweets during that too. Large-group board games are great for doing things on the side like chat or eat when it's not your turn.

For someone not being able to tell a lie to save your life, you are pretty good at poker, being blessed with luck, often beating Pa's perfect pokerface. His friends always found it funny, when it happened.

But having a number of friends back home that could be counted with a horse's hoof and still leave fingers to spare, you never had someone to just spend an afternoon playing tabletop games with.

So any of those games would be something new to enjoy with your friends…

Yet you only need to take a step to notice something more important that starting the fun right away.

...Like, literally. You have to force a longer stride to avoid stepping on a misplaced but already flat fork.

...The roof is a mess. There's dishes all over the table and cutlery thrown all over the floor. Luckily, there's very few shards of broken porcelain, and most of the cups strewn around the roof are of the plastic kind.

"You know, I've never played much boardgames either. I don't even know how to play most of 'em." You start, crouching and picking up the fork, bending it back into its original shape. "But I reckon momma might just tie me up if I leave this mess as it is… Let's go clean up the roof first, please? We'd get back to the slumber party faster."

It's a far rougher start than you would have hoped for your first slumber party, but you can't really leave this mess with a clear conscience. You can't really do that to your mom, putting her through all this and then also making her deal with the aftermath.

>"...Like, hogtied tied?" Toru asks, picking up a cup and setting it on the table. "Is that something you do?"

In a second, all of them shrug and start helping out. There's no dramatic pause or anything, just friends willing to help.

"What? No! Just my hands. You've seen my quirk, how else would she ground me?" You happily admit as you continue gathering cutlery, cups, and everything else you can find on the floor. "Huh... Never told anyone 'bout that."

>"That means girls night has already begun!" Mina says, rubbing her hands together and letting a small stream of acid on a pile of broken tableware and reducing it to nothing. "...Although spilling your guts without a game. Save some for later!"

>"Oh, it's not like we're gonna run out! I've got a lot of questions." Toru comments.

>"I've never been to america. I have so many questions as well!" Momo adds.

>"You are making this sound like an interrogatory." Kyoka points out, being the only one who didn't have to crouch or bend over to pick something up. "Everyone can ask, right?"

>"Hush hush hush! Save the questions for later!" Mina tells her, not actually answering the question.

>"I told you, I don't really have any secrets. Ribbit." Tsu says, wisely choosing not to use her tongue on the sharp shards of tableware.

"Nah. I reckon everyone has somethin' to hide, am I right?" You point out, thinking about your diary.
>>
In only fifteen minutes of light hearted banter, everything on the roof is stored in a shoe box, ready to be washed when you have the time.

"Thanks for the help, gals." You tell them, checking that you hadn't left anything laying around.

>"Hey, don't sweat it, I think I broke one of those things." Mina replies, reducing the last bent fork into slag.

...Effectively turning a repairable piece of trash into a permanent stain.

>"We are done!" Toru announces, jumping in place. "I believe that means cupcakes!"

>"I believe we were going to play board games." Momo points out, looking as excited as you imagine Toru looks. "Now, do you want to play something stimulating or something more casual?"

"Sorry sugar, but I have no idea of what that means outside of videogames." You say, guiding them into the living room.

And as soon as you get there, Momo picks up the boxes from her suitcase and places them on a row on the floor.

>"I mean, I got "Backstab!" where we play as heroes and have to find the traitor before she kills us with her traps! It says it's about bluffing and knowing the other players! Or "Urbanscape" Where we each take the role of a mayor of a small town in the same prefecture and try to gain points by building up our towns while choking the others of their resources!" Momo explains pointing at each box in turn. "On the more casual side, I brought "Monopoly", I think you all know how that one works, and this…"

As she shows you the last box, you feel a bit conflicted. It looks, really…
Childish, like it was brought by mistake.
It's a toy pirate in a barrel full of rectangular holes and with some plastic swords sticking into it.

"So that's the Pop Up Pirate Game." You say, looking at the colorful box. "What's this one about?"

>"There's no skills in this one." Tsuyu explains. "It's completely random, but pretty fun. Ribbit"

>"It's just shanking a pirate, but it makes for a great sidegame of truth or dare though!" Mina says, opening the box and placing the barrel on the kotatsu. "It's pretty fast, so everytime someone loses, the last one to lose gets to ask a question. Makes it interesting."

>"How does that variant start, then?" Momo asks, looking intrigued.

>"The hostess asks first." Mina says, winking at you.

Something tells you that there is no such rule...

>"I was going to suggest strip monopoly, but there's not much of a point with five girls…" Toru comments, causing you to turn and stare at her.

Then starts poking your arm with the box of cupcakes. Picking up the hint, you take it from her and focus for an instant, making each one of the twelve cupcakes the size of a small birthday cake.

"There's your sugar, sugar." You tell her, taking a cupcake for yourself before setting the box on the floor and turning back to the more mentally advanced games. "Also, we are six."

>"Yeah, but how much skin can I show?" She says, with her shirt indicating a shrug.

You have to admit a tiny bit of morbid curiosity for how does Strip Monopoly works and how you'd all look at the end of the game, but not nearly enough male the first activity of the night about getting naked.

"Alright, truth or shank…" You say before realizing what exactly were you saying. "The pirate thing, sorry. That one sounds fun."

>"Okay! Listen up girls, you lose, you get a question by the last... one... to lose." Mina explains as she strains to place the pirate in its barrel and spin it. Judging by the clicking noise, that's how it randomizes which hole will make it Pop Up. "Then you can choose to answer or take a dare. No take backs though!"

"So if we chose the dare we gotta do it? And we can't hear them beforehand?" You ask, not so sure about this being a good idea anymore. "...I reckon this sounds like we'll be on the papers tomorrow."

>"You can invoke a double dare once." Mina says, looking around at everyone. "If the dare is too much or hits too close to home, you can ask for both you and the girl who dare you to get a new dare. But then you both have to do that one. This way we can keep each other from pushing too far."

>"Sounds fair. Ribbit." Tsu comments, to a round of nods.

"Well then, I guess we are doing this now." You say, sitting by the kotatsu and picking up a plastic sword, jamming it in one random hole. "There."

As Mina said earlier, the game moves really fast. Knowing that is pure chance just eliminates all planing, allowing you to lose yourself in your divinely good cupcake.

Yet before you knew it, the third round comes and eliminates the first girl, sending the pirate flying against Mina's nose the instant her tiny sabre enters the barrel.

>"OW! You little piece of… PLASTIC!" She cries, strangling the poor pirate between her fingers. "How unused can this game be to have the spring be so hard! It doesn't even do that when it's new!"

>"Suck it up, you lost." Kyoka points out. "So, what's the question, Ushi?"

A question and a dare. You have a few of each in mind, starting with some boring but easy to answer question like her favorite heroes and villains, to more personal ones like why is she so often near the class' redhead and what kind of embarrassing things her quirk might have put her up to. Dares are a bit less varied in your head. You know that you know pretty much nothing about makeup, and spending the night as a rodeo clown might be a good dare, but other than calling Daisy and trying to prank him or making her tiny, you don't have any more ideas.

Well… Licking Mina's acid or Tsu's barely-poisonous slime briefly crossed your mind, but there are more than a couple reasons to not even consider it now, starting with the fact that Mina doesn't seem affected at all by her acid.

So you decide to go for the not-too-personal question

"Alrighty. Tell me, what's the most embarrassing thing you've done practicin' with your quirk?" You ask the pink girl, prepared to announce your dare.

>"That's all?" Mina asks with a smug smile on her face. "That's an easy one."

>"Ever had one of those moments when you are more confident on your skills than you should?" She starts, looking at all of you and getting a round of nods. "The worst I had was last year. It was the day after filling out our Aspiration Reports back at school, and everyone aspiring to be a hero was training as hard as they could, kinda like this week! Since I applied to U.A, I needed to give my full one hundred and eleven percent! And with my quirk being as dangerous as it is, I looked for a deserted place to practise sliding and stuff with my acid, somewhere where any splashes wouldn't hurt anyone- One sec."

She takes a moment to stuff her face with more cupcake before continuing, and you can't blame her. This thing is delicious.

>"Where was I… Right! I ended up training next to a really tall crag in a park. That day I was so confident on my control that I tried sliding down the crag. Ended up sliding the last few meters on my face. Made a real mess of myself." She finishes, going at her cake again.

Considering how nonchalant she's about it, it couldn't have been too bad, but you still wince a bit at her words.

>"That sounds painful, did it hurt too much?" Tsu asks.

Mina wipes her mouth with her sleeve and continues talking.

>"Mostly my pride. Didn't hurt all that much, but between the rock and my acid my workout clothes started falling apart. Were it not for another student training nearby coming to see what happened giving me his jacket, I don't know how would I have got home." She explains, looking away and scratching her cheek with her finger. "Got him to promise to never tell anyone too, so please keep it secret you too!"

"Sure." You say, amongst a chorus of nods, yeahs, and a ribbit. "Whose turn is it now?"

>"Mine, let me just…" Kyoka says, placing the pirate in its barrel and holding it in place with her hand, then hammering it down with her other hand. Finally she stabs the first sabre. "Momo, your go."

>"Alright Mr. Blackbeard, let's see you dance." Momo says, stabbing the second sword into the barrel and almost getting a flying pirate to the face, as the plastic figurine misses her ear by an inch, flying another two solid feet up before starting to fall. "...let's play at arms reach from now on, okay?"

>"Yeah, that thing packs a punch…" Mina says, rubbing her nose between her hands. "Wait, I get to ask! What's the most embarrassing thing you've done with your quirk!? You can make anything! There has to be something interesting there, right?"

>"I think Ushi already figured it out, but I once tried making Barium… I was tired and somewhat sweaty, but figured out a heavy and rare metal would be a good way to finish that training session." Momo says, slowly flexing her fingers and looking down. "I don't recall ever feeling as stupid as I did that day."

Having looked up what the first and second groups of the periodic table after hearing about them on your birthday, you reach across the kotatsu to pat her on the shoulder.

>"...What?" Mina asks, clearly lost.

>"I paid attention to science last year. That would blow up..." Toru says, sounding a lot more calm than usual.

>"That doesn't sound like you, Momo." Tsu points out. "When did that happen?"

>"... Seven years ago." The class president admits, sighing loudly and slumping her shoulders.

"I didn't even know what that meant until last week…" You admit. "And since you still got all your fingers, I reckon you learnt your lesson."

>"Indeed. No more haphazard testing, only strictly regulated environments for new materials, and even then, only after reading the published papers on the matter!" She says, nodding.

Right after she finishes, you hear Mina struggling to stuff the toy pirate in it's barrel again. "Get me out… too much… nerd!.."

The next round was the hardest, as far as a luck based game can get harder. Without Mina and Momo, the remaining four of you keep stabbing blindly at the barrel for four cycles, until your last turn came.

Considering there was only one hole left, there was nothing to do but accept that your luck ran out and shank the pirate.

Thus, you place your hand on your thigh and shrink yourself down to a few couple inches and grab your weapon.

"<From hell's heart I stab at thee!>" You yell in mock-anger as you charge at the toy pirate, putting on a show. "<For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee!>"

Another advantage of looking at Blackbeard at its face before it flies off, beyond the comedic value is that it can't possibly hit you in the face.

The bloodthirsty plastic criminal almost falls right on your head though, only to be thrown off course by Kyoka's fast thinking and whipping jacks.

"Thanks for the save." You tell Kyoka, scratching behind your ears before jumping off the kotatsu and returning to your normal size. "Now, Momo my pal, fire away!"

She looks at you a bit oddly, tilting her head and touching her ear for a moment.

>"Right… Uhm… How's it like to be a mutant? Of your kind, specifically. Do you ever feel like... following some animal instinct?" She says, starting to blush. "...Or to stay in one place in the sun or something of the sort!?"

...You can't say you were expecting that, and a quick glance at both Mina and Tsu reveals that neither did they. Kyoka looks surprised as well, and Toru… Well, her sleeves say that she either covered her mouth or put her hands over her cheeks, no way to tell.

Well, she's one of the few people you know that you can't see any mutations on, so it might be just innocent curiosity, even if she worded it oddly.

Only because it bring up were technically only half a cow. Mentioning our plant side seems like an interesting segue. Not to mention it's an easy explanation for standing in the sun instead of just 'because cow'.

This is my phrasing for “tell the truth” by the way. It’d be hard to summarize the whole mutant experience by giving examples.

Well… she's one of your friends, and one of the smartest people you know. There's no reason to sugarcoat things or to smear crap all over them.

So you tell her how it is, as best as you can.

"Honestly? A bit of both…. It's hard to summarise my whole life experience in words and examples, so bear with me, okay?" You ask her, tilting your head to the left a bit and smiling. "I idly chew on grass when I'm bored, and I prefer standing under the sun. I got a strong back and great if a bit small horns too, but you know I had it rough back home and according to the internet, it won't be much easier moving forwards. Lotsa folk focus on the animal instead of the human, I guess."

Momo looks down for a moment, seemingly thinking about your words.

"...Why does no one mention the plant, anyway?" You continue, slowly dragging your finger down your broken horn. "It's quite a lot of me…"

>"It's not as eye catching as the pillow smuggling operation in your shirt." Kyoka points out, poking the side of your breast with her finger. "...I guess the cow part isn't exactly obvious, but it's a pretty safe bet."

"Oh, c'mon…" You say, softly slapping her hand away. "You make it sound like I talk like Tsu or somethin'."

>"Like me? What does that mean? Ribbit." The girl in question asks, fortunately looking curious instead of offended.

"You know, the kyara-gobi and all that. Moo." You say, making that last word both authentic sounding as you can, and deadpan as humanly possible.

>"...That's pretty cute." Toru points out.

>"I know right?" Mina says, sliding her hand between your horns and patting your head. "She's totes adorbs when she acts like that."

"Cherish it, I'm not doin' it again." You tell them, turning your neck and lightly twisting Mina's wrist between your horns. "Does that answer your question, Momo?"

>"Most of it." She says with her face still slightly flush, but still smiling. "I think I worded it wrong, but I think I better stay off that topic."

You nod thankfully and go look for the projectile pirate to start the next round.
...And Mina, wasn't exaggerating, even though you've been training your arms, hands and wrists non stop for about a week, sticking the pirate into its barrel leaves your wrists aching from the effort.

The good part of having lost is that with only Kyoka, Toru and Tsu in the game, you can lose yourself in your cupcake until someone loses.

...Which was only two cycles, as the pirate almost hits Tsu in the chin, being caught just in the nick of time by her tongue.

>"I guess it's my turn now. Ribbit." Tsu says, leaving the pirate on the table. "Ask anything, I don't mind."

Well, if she has no secrets and isn't really ashamed of anything, there's no much point in asking about her deepest and darkest secrets, nor is there to try to push her into a dare. You don't even know if that would work and it could easily backfire on you.

So you go for something with more potential, but without forcing anything too big on her.

"How about you tell me something you've never told anyone before?" You ask her, confident in your choice.

>"Uhm…" She begins, placing her finger on her chin. "Never told anyone?.. Uh… How about… I like going to the ponds during the rainy season and listen to the frogs croak and call each other, then I write short love stories about them. My best friend knows I have a notebook full of them, but this is the first time I tell anyone what inspires me."

"That's a lot… tamer than I thought." You admit, tilting your head in confusion but smiling anyway.

>"There are many weirder things about me, but between my siblings, parents and Habuko, I think I've told them all." Tsu explains. "There are a few you could relate, I'm sure. A few things that carry over from the animal to the mutant, like diet and reproductive behaviors. Ribbit."

>"...Thanks for keeping it vague." You tell her, vaguely imagining the parallels. You don't really need the specifics.

>"...I feel both left out and relieved." Kyoka says, pulling at her jacks and nodding slowly.

>"Well, I feel like that last part is short changing us." Toru says. "You can't tease stuff like that! Now someone will have to ask it!"

>"This merits a follow-up." Momo comments, looking at Tsu and then at you.

Not wanting to continue this line of conversation, you pick up the pirate… Wipe Tsu's saliva off it, and then jam it back into its barrel

"...I'm going to get this ready before things get more awkward." You say, placing the game in the middle of the kotatsu.

A fun fact about the Pop Up Pirate Game: It's the fastest game you've seen with the ability to get even faster, as only Toru and Kyoka remain playing, stabbing the barrel one the other in quick succession, until the pirate goes flying up.

>"Crappy piece of motherfucking shitty!.. AAAGh!" Toru yells as a red drop falls from where you now know her nose is. In fact, you can see the red line go down to her chin for an instant.

It's neither large enough to make sense of her features, nor is it there long enough for you to picture in your mind how she looks, thanks to Momo quickly giving her a hankie.

>"Better?" Momo asks her as she returns the bloodstained handkerchief. "I told you to not get close."

>"Ow… Yeah, I'm okay." Toru says, regaining her peppy tone, if a bit more nasal sounding. "Hit me up Tsu!"

The green haired girl touches her chin and thinks for a couple of seconds.

>"Do you really go naked as your hero costume?" She finally asks. "I don't think you've ever mentioned having invisible clothes. Ribbit."

>"Nope! I wear gloves and boots, remember?" The invisible girl points out. "That's all though. It's pretty embarrassing knowing I'm so close to being naked!"

"Does that?.." You start asking, looking at every other girl in the room and getting only shrugs in return. "...nevermind."

>"...You know, this is a pretty boring game when everyone is so honest." Mina comments, scarfing down the last piece of her cupcake. "...aw."

You just tear what's left of yours in half and enlarge it again, making each half roughly as large as the original.

"Here." You tell her as you hand her the piece of pastry. "And I guess it is… No one's picking dares."

>"Because the questions are so soft you could sleep on them. Let me show you." Kyoka points out, pointing at Toru with her thumb. "Come on Toru, give me your worst."

>"You sure?" Toru asks, the neck of her shirt indicating some sort of head movement.

...That you can't really see.

>"...Girls, I'm looking at each of you for an opinion." She clarifies a second later.

>"She's asking for it." Mina tells her, getting a nod from you.

>"Oki…" Toru says, taking a moment to think before shouting her question. "Tell me… the most improper and saucy fantasy you've had!"

>"See? Now that's something I'm not telling anyone anytime soon." Kyoka says, nodding sharply. "Gimme the dare."

>"... I didn't think of any. Give me a teensy little second!" Toru says, standing up and starting to walk in circles around the kotatsu. "Take off… no... too soon…"

>"Ushi, did you bring a spare set of clothes you could lend to the cause?" Toru suddenly asks.

"...I live here, so yeah." You answer, not sure of why you were asked.

The invisible girl then stops her pacing and points at Kyoka… You think. You can only see her sleeve going in that direction.

>"Kyoka, I dare you change into a set of Ushi's clothes for the rest of the night!" She triumphantly says.

>"Is that supposed to be hard?" The challenged replies, standing up. "Sure, I'll do it. Lead the way, Ushi."

"I don't think I have anything your size…" You tell her, scratching behind your ears.

>"...That's the idea, Ushi." Toru clarifies, before turning her whole body to look at Kyoka. "By the way, you only get to keep your panties."

>"...<Fuck.>" Kyoka says. Seemingly only now seeing anything wrong with the dare.

As you aren't a frilly southern belle kind of gal, it's not too hard to get her an ensemble that she likes, a simple pair of jeans, a gray shirt and a simple black bra.

When the two of you return to the living room, it's obvious that being several inches taller and having a cup size at least four letters larger makes your clothes completely inappropriate for Kyoka. They look like they are hung on a pole instead of being worn, with your shirt's cut easily showing the top of oversized bra's cups, while your jeans legs are completely crumpled to fit on her shorter legs.

Only you and Momo don't giggle and laugh, and in your case it's probably because you had already seen her.

>"Yeah, laugh it out. It'll be your turn soon." Kyoka says, hugging herself as she goes take her seat.

Seeing that the game might get a bit more interesting, grab the now actually bloody pirate and stuff it in it's barrel-disguised cannon.

Being the six of you playing again, the game slows down a bit, but Tsu is eliminated in the first two minutes.

>"Tsu… I actually want to know this one. I saw Ushi eat hay-" Kyoka says before you interrupt her.

"Straw." You correct her.

>"Okay. Ushi eats plants…. But do you eat bugs?" Kyoka asks, careful to not move too much in her ill-fitting attire.

>"...Sometimes." Tsu admits, looking embarrassed for the first time. "If I'm busy with something and a fly flies by, I might just catch it and swallow it before realizing it. I stop myself from doing it when I notice though and always go brush my teeth as soon as possible when it happens. Ribbit."

>"Sorry, but ew." Kyoka says, echoing the sentiments of everyone in the room.

>"It's alright, not every mutation is nice." Tsu admits, shrugging. "I live with it. Ribbit."

This time the pirate is hammered into place by Momo. Literally. With a small rubber mallet.

This round also shows you that no one trips on the same stone twice, as Mina's head stays as far away from the pirate when she loses, letting it fly straight up and fall on the kotatsu, leaving a mark on the wood.

>"Mina, what's the grossest thing you have done with your quirk?" Tsu asks, seemingly having thought of the question beforehand.

>"I think… When I'm too pooped out to bother with a shower or wiping, I just let out acid and rinse, then drop on bed." Mina answers. "I've messed a few blankets and a mattress with that trick."

"That's gross." You comment.

>"I think that was the point, Ushi." The pink girl tells you. "I just told the truth."

>"And I regret asking. Ribbit." Tsu says, taking Momo's mallet and driving the pirate back into its barrel-shaped plastic prison in one hit.

This cycle, you take care to not be in the pirate's way when you jam your first sabre, and it pays off, as the plastic criminal only hits the brim of your hat.

"Alright. Shoot, Mina." You tell your friend, fixing your hat and crossing your arms

>"Agh, this is personal, but I've wondered since the first day of class!" She says, then point at your chest. "Do those… you know… work?"

>What do you do?
