You are Purps. The Amnesiac Starborn who cheats death time and again at the expense of sanity, emotions and memories. Since you've woken up life has been hectic, explosive and deadly. After falling in as the bodyguard of a ridiculously strong Wizard who used to work for The Republic; you have since become favoured by The Sun Goddess Minerva by winning a dance contest, fell in love with Sgt Honamurei, semi-adopted a child after his father had to be killed, played bodyguard to demon spawn singers who could manipulate reality, were accepted as a sister by said demonspawn, entered a battle that got said child killed, fought mercenaries, werewolves a dragon; took far more humans' lives in revenge than you ever thought you could.

But everything seemed to turn around upon entering the academy, a nice simple year of studying while Honamurei's eye is fixed by the many expert magic users. Instead; during a fight she lost control and you tried to stop her. While this resulted in your death, the return had you sell your love from her. Things just keep breaking around you and... You don't know if you can stop them. That's who you are. But now? Now isn't the time for introspection.

Because with the Inquisition garrison having been informed of the mish mash of grunts, mooks and thugs wielding bizarrely powerful steam weaponry in 100% honest detail. You are now free to go.

After all, you only defended yourself after the Inquisitor you brought to help was slain by the perpretators. An inspired decision in hindsight. Now, not only are you in the clear. Your desire for vengeance has earned you the respect of quite a few responding Inquisitors, including the rather stern looking Goat Person directing the response.

Though both suns are high in the sky this afternoon; you're pretty done with today. Coming back to life, hurting Honamurei in ways you never thought you could, venting your feelings into beating down mooks even got ruined by the leaders' escape.

This has been a terirble day and you haven't even explained to your friends how you've returned from death or shown your face around the Classrooms yet.

Speaking of dormates, across the street from this crime scene, you can make out a familiar bespectacled girl engaged in heated arguement with a snake creature; Lamias? That's what you think they're called anyway. But perhaps you are best heading elsewhere.

Desiring comfort, you jump onto a nearby rooftop and head over to Lucky's Caravanassery intent on finding Fox and bringing him into your dorm. Maybe say he's a working animal? Like one of those hounds they give people with the bad blood.

As you land in the yard, you notice Lucky's voice is booming from somehwere in the middle of the nearby caravans, his ridiculous blue hat popping up over an Ox's back and allowing you to give him a wide berth. You're not sure if you want to communicate with anyone yet, plus he's busy actually maintaining his own business. It'd be rude to show up half naked and bloodied, don't want to worry him right?

Right.

Crossing the yard quickly and as inconspicuously as you can; the wagon remains where it was parked, the lone constant in life. You step up and while entering the wagon you notice someone's seemingly been through and started righting the mess that was the common room, upon investigation this seems to have stretched to your room also as the bed and bookshelves all sit neatly upon the walls proudly. The only two features of the desolate and empty box that is your bedroom, neither of which seem to have Fox curled up upon them.

In fact, you didn't hear him bark or see him dash out of sight all the way across the cabin.

You leave shreds of meat all through the common room, looking at the world outside the cabin as you hope to Minerva that he didn't wander off into the outside world. Lighting up one of the paltry three cigarettes you left on your bed, you settle in for what would turn out to be a short wait.

Soon the door opens slowly, a long screeching creak dragging you out of a slight bout of self pity by force. When you turn to the door the slow sequence of low clicking and the large shadow being cast into the room makes one thing abrubtly clear; this isn't Fox.

In fact this creature literally tuns you with it's appearance... While it's body is almost wormlike, it walks upright on two legs with interlocking carapce that grind and click together each step. It's head area sprouts long strands of feather like fur or hair that drip a red liquid onto the floor of the cabin as one of it's two snake like arms pull it into the room. Long talons stabbing into the wooden wall to help it navigate the comparitavely small door, A long slender thorn like weapon is clutched in it's hand like a sword.

Whatever this thing is, it's head area lowers to the floor and begins weaving toward your Fox bait beneath what looks now to be a covering of Moss.

Your saw arcs out into the main room; a simple flick of the wrist sending it into and through the doorway around the creatures lithe but large frame, a perfect shot rebounding it off the door frame before it traps one of the monster's arms tight to it's abdomen like tendril with a swift snap. Your recall function only serves to knot the wires, causing the thing to let out a cry that seems to chill your bones into ice.

In fact, your very skin seems to develop a thin layer of frost all over when the creature screams. Trying and failing to use it's incredibly long limb around to strike at you with it's rapier like thornblade. Thinking quickly, you jump up to the wall beside the door fram and push yourself off of it as hard as you can - the whole cabin tilting forty five degrees from the force of your lanching as you strike the beast like a missile and knock it onto it's back.

As it tries to rise your saw revs and it screams once again. Agony. Pain. The sounds are oddly reassuring as you carve deep into it's chest structure and remove the taloned hand at the wrist like juncture. Monster Anatomy is hard.

But those screams of agony and writhing in pain are only accelerating the ice on your body, your legs freezing solid in thick ice and chest beginning to find breath harder to come by. As your saw comes to hand... you're shaking all over.

How can it scream ice onto you like this?

> [PRIDE] Lantern. Just need to keep it from catching... Maybe try and keep the fire inside?

> [FRUSTRATION] Hack away at the ice surrounding you while it recovers. Just need to get mobile to finish it off.

With a low growl you call out for the purple flame that has become your calling card; "Minerva's lantern." With a strangely ominous whisper the fire roars to life around your abdomen, like two vertical strips running down your shoulders to your knees like twin pillars. Though they flicker, rage and hunger they seem to stay tight to your skin; this is your power and you are it's master no matter how hard it wishes to blaze.

Like clockwork the ice is melted and pooling at your feet, everyone of the three steps you take to cross the room to your downed foe kicking up steam like some kind of spa bath. The thing cries out while two bulbous and caustic looking spheres swing towards you, the globes swelling up when it's cries fail to freeze you in your tracks. To whatever kind of ice wielding creature this is, a saw wielding woman stalking through a wall of steam and shrugging off it's attacks in a purple veil of fire must be horrifying.

And when you hold your breath and flip the mental switch to end it's life you somehow manage to not burn the place down. With an explosion this monstrosity is cleansed from this plane and it's life, the purple fire scorching the ground between the two of you as chairs are tipped over you take deep breaths amazed at the ease of the Lantern use and the startling degree of precision you pulled off with that detonation.

But that momentary glee fades as you notice something. That thing came from the storeroom and even from here you can see vials, display cases and books littering the floor.

Fox has been a bad boy and gotten himself in danger.

Kicking down the door for no reason over than sudden desire to do so, you enter into the impossible warehouse, a thin layer of broken glass and torn paperwork serving as a makeshift carpet. Like a huge wal of blood you see something terrible on the far wall, a portal to somewhere... a long and loud squeal ringing out from it. Screams of thousands answering it, like some horrible curse has just been applied to them.

Thin streams of greenish silver connect the portal to a strange crystal sphere, but that is not the most immediate concern; that is reserved for Fox yelping from within a trunk as a half dozen small green monstrosities tear at it with claws and teeth. Even if you were to try and go for whatever that sphere is, you'd have to walk right through the crowd of these things.

Your eyes narrow, trying to weigh up the options.

With an absurdly casual flick you send your saw deep into the greenskinned creature nearest you, propelling yourself into the midst of the group. Meanwhile the saw sends sprays of gore, viscera and garlic smelling blood across the nearest shelves; a savage roar of victory as it carves free of the chasm it carved in it's first victim.

Two of the creatures lunge at you while the other renews it's efforts on getting into the chest, both of them having nothing to offer but rows of insectoid mandibles within there mouth. Unfortunaely for the one on the right, your teeth are serrated, and revving, cleaving through his throat as you back from their half hearted pouncing.

As the headless body slumps to the, his compatriot begins scaling the shelves on your right hand side; unsettling in the speed and lithness which it navigates the different sized, the monster screams; turning the attention of the one who tried to break in.

In a snap judgement you attempt to close on it, swinging your saw down toward it's left arm in vain as it digs it's claws into the ground and begins scurrying away from you toward the red pulsating portal. Screams echo out from it as it flees, the other creature watching you intently.

Did it... Is it communicating somehow? Did it warn it's comrade of your attack?

Arcing your throw overhand you try to drop the saw in front of the fleeing monster in an effort to entrap and drag him back. But itself seems to know what is coming, leaping to the top of a box taller than itself like it is second nature. With annoyance you bring your saw around in a wide arc aiming to force him closer to you only for pain to stab into your back. As you cry out you feel something wriggling inside the wound as a nother stab pierces the back of your neck and the mandible or whatever inside there wriggles in tandem with the other. It feels like something is melting you from inside as every part of your bodybegs you to focus on this alien and incomparable agony.

Focus on it you do, recalling your saw and stepping over the wire slices one of the limbs inside you clean; the garlic like stench filling the air and invading your nostrils once more. As it's grip loosens all the monster's weight lands on the other mandible, yanking the wriggling inside you up and to the side in a ragged carve through your muscle.

With divine fury your left hand grabs at the wound and tears the mandible free, the chitin like substance covered in your blood as you yank it in twain. Bile rises in your throat as you look at the wriggling maggot like thing in your hand, something which had been tunneling inside you that wore the main monster's mandible like some kind of armour.

A clenched fist crushes the haired parasite in an explosion of gore; the bipedal green creature looking nigh catatonic from either shock or blood loss. It takes you a second to squash down thought of payback as you look over your shoulder and see the other one has escaped. The screams have been silenced and you can hear the sounds of large footseps; oddly metallic and coming at a rhythym that suggests... six limbs or more moving on the ground and bringing whatever is coming closer to you.

The glass orb seems to be changing colours, no longer translucent with green energy leading to the portal; the thing is now glowing blue and sending off thick strands of white magic. Little flickers of yellow and silver slowly mingling with and overtaking the portal's previous crimson structure as you have to make a split second judgement call.

Deciding that this is way beyond what you're prepared to deal with right now, you scoop up the small chest with Fox. Making sure it's secure under your arm you turn to the door and the horribly mutilated monster trying to bar you from retreat. Tensing your claves and pushing forward at a sprint, you tuck your shoulder and charge through him like a raging Rho beast with a echoeing crack.

The thing hits one of the nearer shelves and slumps, his only death cry a pathetic gurgle of that strange blood. But you are long gone before he begins his descent, locking the door to Lex's stores and tossing a bookcase in front of it despite the quite frankly titanic sound the tumblers make upon turning.

In passing he mentioned it could serve as a panic room if necesarry, so hopefully the lock is just as tough the other way.

Minerva what the fuck was that? You ask, checking over Fox and scritching under his chin as he trembles. The poor thing practically leaps onto your shoulder as you exit the cabin and land on the sand of Lucky's Caravanassery.

As ever when not on Sanctified land, her voice is faint in your mind, Goblins

"Fantastic." You say aloud.

Looking around you realise that if the monsters break through they'll butcher countless innocents near this place... "LUCKY!" You roar, drawing your saw and turning to face the cabin's opening.

You're probably the best suited to this. Holding a line on your own, they can cut you down as many times as they need to. But you'll keep coming back. Perfect.

Nobody else gets hurt, just you. A sole rearguard that never stops. Perfect.

The proprieter comes running into view, his jacket dangling off one shoulder as his comically large hat flops around on his head; "Miss firefly what- What the hells happened to y'all we need ta-"

"Clear the place." You order calmly, "Get the guards. Tell them there's... goblins."

He pales and starts shouting in his accent but you tune him out. This might be it for you, at least this you. Whatever that huge thing on the other side of the portal is, if the little things are offspring it might make Balthazaar look like child's play.

With deep breaths you prepare yourself, trying to ignore the crimson cape running down your back from the wound's you've recieved already.

"Dealer..." You say aloud under your breath. "I need your help."

Time seems to slow down as you light up a cigarette and take a few nervous puffs. Fox flicking his ears and watching the light in your mouth with interest.

After almost a minute the ground around you darkens as your shadow doubles and triples in both length and width. Two white eyes and a ragged gash of a mouth appear in the dirt and fix upon yours, "I see you have found yourself in trouble Purps, but this is nothing to worry over."

The shadow envelops your body, leaving a little patch around Fox free of it's influence. Something inside you feels different and the wounds on your back are closed; in fact your body feels right again. In a way that you haven't since you.

At both hips a saw is nestled, your hands bringing them up in front of your eyes just so you can check. Gasping allows your cigarette to fall, Fox pouncing on it and squishing the lit cigarette against the ground with a triumphant series of growls; the Hawkfox looking around before beginning to scale your body again. A body which suddenly now clad in studded leather armour.

"You are healed, the weapon at your side is the true saw and this armour should protect you from the various toxins Soldiers and Royal Goblins posess." He sounds very satisfied with his own work. "If pressed, explain that you prayed to Minerva."

"Thanks Dealer." You find yourself sighing form relief and sincerely thanking the... whatever he is. With the sound of cracking and splintering wood though, your weapon becomes a polesaw and you prepare yourself.

"Stay focused Purps. This battle will be different from your usual forte." Are his parting words.

Fox's body seems curled up in a little coij purse type pocket inside your armour, apparently the dealer considered your little friend. Which means you should be safe to use lantern if needed. Excellent.

A quick glance around shows you that there are no cvillians loitering and even the oxen have been escorted free, the faint sounds of alarm in the background being raised.

"Good work Lucky. Let me handle the heavy lifting."

Fourteen pairs of yellow eyes and malformed anteater like snouts poke forward from where the Cabin Wagon's plae ends. Striking the ground with your polesaw and feeling the familiar weight sends adrenaline racing round your body.

Here.

Break the shield into two and brace our eyes, use the shield to block attacks before countering with the buzzsaw edges to gank them. Keep this up for as long as we can and when they start to overrun us then pop lantern before switching to lust to talk advantage of the AoE fire burst to turn around the momentum and start ganking them.

With renewed vigor you step forward and slice directly at the assembled huddles of eyes and snouts; attacking in a wide almost clumsy looking arc that cleaves thorugh chunks of meat, bone, hide, hair, chitin, mandibles, organs and whatever horrible parts make up the green coloured abominations known as goblins.

Your saw roars out in freedom; causing you grin in satisfaction at the vengeful catharsis of the polesaw's bloody path. A wave of stinking garlicy viscera comes streaming from seeming thin air as the splatter and backwash of what must have been almost a dozen goblin deaths hit you like the pathetic whimpers from within that very same cabin.

There's no reveling or stopping in you though ad you reverse the momentum of the polesaw for a sicekning backswing that hits hard enough to offer almost no resistence as a nother wave of gore begins flowing down the entrance to the cabin's personal plane. Again and again you begin carving wide swathes out of approaching enemies that you can't even see across the planar divide, arms, shoulders, face and chest all being coevered in the stinking goblin fluids as you do.

After the fifteenth or nineteenth swipes suddenly something changes as the polesaw hits armour strong enoough to send sparks throughout the the cabin wagon and even some out into the fluid slick ground where you're making a stand. Surprise makes you hesitate and the sparks suddenly ignitinig the ground all around you in a display of strange white fire sends you into a full on backpedal. Screams of goblin workers rise in a chorus as the sheer river of blood and guts inside seems to catch fire too; that horrible garlicy spell being replaced by the unmistakable odour of burning flesh.

Like horrible spectres of death a quartet of five foot tall creature emerge, crawling over each other with eight horrible spindly appendages that bear thornlike ridges, crests and protruding spikes. Every spike on their uper four arms drip with sizzling orange liquid that is surely venomous; the fire does not even bother them. Judging by the gash on the closest one's terracota headcrest, you managed to hurt it.

But there are four of these creatures, armoured enough to take a shot from your polesaw. Venemous. And stalking each one you with creepy synchronicity as they mirror each other, right down to the blinking and breathing. Fortunately for you, reinforcements arrive in the form of the last person you wanted to see. An academy uniform with red skirt looking horribly out of place next to the black metal fists...

Maria of Darna lands in the caravan yard fist first, striking the ground where one of the new larger goblins inhabited only a fraction before. Despite your annoyance you notice the oddity of it's dodging; that creature should not have seen her coming nor had the speed to dodge without foreknowledge.

They're definently communicating with each other somehow. "They didn't tell me it was you here Purps!" Maria greets, annoyingly chipper as she stands shoulder to shoulder with you, fists ready to brawl. "Ain't nobody gonna get hurt by monsters if we're working together hm?"

"Shut up." You answer narrowing your eyes. "These things are weird, don't do me any favours and die."

"Nah, I'm not dying anytime soon. Got many years of heroism ahead." Maria of Darna rolls her eyes and you see her shoulders tense as she is ready to launch into battle. Thankfully the white fire acts as a wall to prevent any of the smaller goblins getting involved in this four versus two brawl.

As Maria readies to move you actually preempt her and move across her, forcing her to plant her feet in the sand instead of launching forward. Just as well for her as she buys an extra second to react to the twin streams of corrosive orange liquid being sprayed from the lower limbs of two of the creatures.

With venom of your own you strike at the first goblin soldier, sliding between two limbs and bringing both claws up and through the splindly scythe like arms. It seems as though these creatures feel no pain and it aims the nozzle like lower limbs in your face, clearly aiming to spray acid. Instead you simply jump, planting a foot on one of it's shoulder like joins and the other on it's abdomen. In a frenzy you begin stabbing your claws, saws roaring quietly as your saw begins craving inside the creature.

Like an animal you work the curving and vibrating sawclaws inside every little wound and crack in the armour, forcing your arms elbow depe and out the back of the crature before you begin laying into it with a flurry of slashes and tearing. Organs, blood, carapace all fall and snap under your assault with the sounds of trees breaking in a heavy wind.

The creature's mandibles stop their previously incessant motion allowing you to pivot your hips while riding it to the ground, in time for a flailing soldier to through the air in your direction courtesy of a Maria punch. You fire out a claw, intercepting it mid flight and activating your ability to bypass it's defences and utilise it's momentum to cut it neatly down the middle while it passes.

Stepping forward in the same heartbeat, your other claw is launched directly into the last living Goblinoid's eye, the blades curling and emerging inside the thing's mouth. Maria's gauntled hand uses your sawclaw for leverage; clutching it tight as she pushes her oter hand upward with great force.

Before your eyes she essentially slaps the thing's head off with the aid of your claw. A savage laugh erupting from her throat. Unfortunately, this brutality, while swift, was not instantaneous and the fires have begun to burn down. Tides of green begin to pour from the cabin wagon and both Darnite and Minervan fury meet them.

Striking the ground with incredible force, Maria luanches you and every one of your foes into the air allowing you to tense all your muscles and start rotating with every shred of speed you posess.

Though your claws begin close to you, with every rotation the wires extend and extend, slashing through more fallin and uncannily calm goblins with each spin. They silenlty accept their defeat long ebfore the wires grow taut and you start taking multiple dozens of Goblins with each spin.

More soliders intermix with the next green tide, Maria meeting them with a roar; "CONSECUTIVE NORMAL PUNCHES!" Green chitin flies upward through the air as their garlicly lifeblood passes you so swiftly it feels like some kind of upside down rainstorm. Ignoring the brutality of your unlikely partner, you drive your left claw into the headcrest of a soldier; gravity allowing you to surf it into the ground for some distance and lash out at seemingly unending green drones with the other.

Colliding with the axis of the wagon, you withdraw your anchoring claw form the soldier's skull and ram both into the join between abdomen and head. Through sheer instinct dodging the untold grabbing limbs that try to drag you down and swarm you.

Then. The Horns.

White armoured Minervans throw themselves into the fight as the inquisition arrive, oddly enough you pick out the sounds of heavy industry as some kind of bizarrely armoured warrior wielding some kind of fleshy halberd strides amongst the battle like an avatar of destruction.

You watch as a single backswing cleaves through a soldier's arm and the follow up thrust takes it down and pins several drones to the corpse of their better. Several drones try to swarm it and are repulse by a burst of electricity from the warriors' biceps.

Your reinforcements crash against the horde, armour discipline and might taking on horrible eficiency and savagery in a costly display for both sides. Number is not your ally, but you have managed to keep them contained. For now even the might soldiers cannot secure a beachehad for more than a heartbeat or six.

As the green tide to continues to crash upon the lines of the inquisition, more of the orange carapaced warriors begin supporting their weaker counterparts with acidic sprays and providing weight to their lines. Solid pillars of muscle and armour that prevent your side from pressing the advantages of training and experience beyond the momentary little gaps they can force open, on your left you witness Maria letting loose punches that scatter countless goblins and on your right the mechanical warrior is doing her best to carve a a path back to your own side under the weight of countless greenskinned drones trying to drag her down despite the waves of electricity that are pulsed into them.

That moment of evaluation almost costs you, were it not for a pair of rough carves stone swords embedding themselves into the soldier who had torn through his own kind to try an capitalise on your distraction. Were it not for Green Academy uniform shirt, the redheaded girl draped in furs and paint would look like some passing mercenary as opposed to a second year student. Falling in step beside her are two other second years, another Cadalonian woman in traditional unifrom delivering death blows with cold fury to all around her in a whirlwind of shimmering axes. Behind them is a purple skinned man casting spells like a madman, his odd singing rising and falling as members of the inquisition's armour start to glow with a pale lavender sheen.

It looks as if everything is turning out well for your side, the realisation that you're all going to tear through these goblins filling you with a perverse excitement. Space around you wraps and you find yourself above the fray and falling down toward the soliders emerging form the truck. Two saws use the momentum of this sudden fall to lick out and claim two heads in one fell swoop. By the time you land you're already spinning and weaving a path of chaotic destruction, a veritable blender of beautiful devestation at the face of the wagon as suddenly the flow of reinforcements to the frontlines of the horde slow and then halt temporarily under the sheer intensity of your minstrations. The fluids begin pooling about your feet, then anlkles and then the corpses themselves pile up to the point your movement is beginning to be inhibited.

Nothing comes from the wagon, no soldier or drone. With ragged breaths you look around at the whiteblood covered inquisition members on the front line as the second years, Maria and the mechanical warrior come to your side. "Good work." A strangely echoing voice compliments from within that unusual armour.

"That was fun!" Maria says with ill concealed humour. "Wonder what the hell those were?"

"Goblins." You answer dully, "And thank you stranger."

"... It's Freyja in here Purps." The towering mechanical warrior says, apparently this is your dormmate? She's so, big. And not shy? Huh, go figure.

"Roight you, First years. The fook did you do?" The Redheaded second years snarls, two stone swords twirling.

"Find a portal and try to stop the things in it from running wild." You say simply, all the excitment fading. "What's it to you."

"Whot's it to me? Whot's it to me?! You're fookin kiddin' me? A saved your life and now you're bein a wee cheeky shit!"

You sigh, clearly this woman was doing something important before this whole thing went down. with a flourish you splatter gore on the dirt around you and clean your saws before popping them back to your hips.

Taking a second to rub the grim off your face and flick it out of your hair like some kind hound, you turn to face the rather abrasive senior. "Look, let's start over. Who are you?"

"Me, oim Jul. Second year martial and War Games captain. Oo the fook are you ya little purple haired tart?" She squares upto you, uncomfortably close even if both you weren't slick with flesh blood and other gore. Honestly her attitude and accent are enough to warp your saw into a pair of claws at your hips, every word seems to go right through you.

"Purps." You begin only to be cut off as she snorts,

"Real clever mum you hid."

Whatever retort you were about to offer is caught in your throat as you are flung across the yard and through your battle lines by some kind impact to your back. The impact causes your teeth to come together and through your tongue, blood pouring from your mouth long before you blaze a trail through scores of friendly soldiers and smack right through one of the border fences of the compound clean and easy.

The splintered and broken wood around and covering you is easily shrugged off after a what you think is a single moment of darkness to process what just happened. Purple fire erupts from all over your body and with a shout of wordless frustration and effort you emerge from the wreckage you've burned to ashes.

A new breed of monster has entered the fray, some kind of serpentine and lithe creature that is hanging back behind the masses of orange and green that stream from your home like a vision of the apocalypse. Lookind down you realise that half of your leg armour has been lost; as if it were simply torn away. But as you take stock of the new situation, you realise what happened.

These blue creatures appear to be magically inclined, odd violet projectiles lancing into the masses of Inquisition soldiers; denied by the wards of that purple skinned second year in places but mostly throwing the lines into disarray as bodies are thrown all over the place.

Some kind of gravity bombs? Concussive force?

Regardless, the goblins seem to be behaving more like an army now. Gone are the random and feral assaults, the friendly fire and careless spraying of caustic chemicals. Now the soldiers are serving as frontline units, allowing the drones to slip between their legs to ensnare legs, trips or cunningly attack enemies engaged with their bigger kin. Any of the orange skins in reserve are spraying caustic chemicals in lazy arcs, trying to incapacitate the gunners, archers and crossbow wielding inquisition members.

And they're winning.

The few beacons of hope are being isolated and surrounded, Freyja's lightning defenses unable to cope with being swarmed by both soldier goblins and drones. Maria is currently being surrounded and harassed by soldiers both spraying her down and lahing at her with their scythe limbs. But all of that is simply harassment, what is killing her is odd green webs being sprayed from the new Blue Goblins' tails. The Darnite is shrugging them off with sheer power, but everytime she is almost mummefied the girl is open to several blows from the powerful soldiers until she gets free yet again.

The two female second years are fighting back to back, swords and axes lashing out to hold back a bay of green. The soldiers simply waiting in the wings for them to tire. Like cats against mice the blue goblins and orange will lazily look over at the duo, before returning their scrutiny to the barbaric meat grinder in front.

Previously they had ferocity and numbers against discipline and might. Now they have sucessfully spread chaos into the inquisition lines, isolated the most powerful and shown frighteningly competant discipline and organisaiton. The fight in front of you is going to break into a rout if something is not done quickly.

Short version of the Situation:

Maria is surrounded and is being attrition by 2x Blu and a lot of solider.
Freyja is being swarmed by Drones and Soldiers
Second year girls are surrounded by mostly drones but with Five Oranges making sure they don't break the pocket.
Second year wizard is trying to keep wards and barriers up against a half dozen blues.
Inquisition frontlines are being rekt by coordinated Soldier shield wall and Drones.
Inquisition backlines are mostly protected by wiz.

Inquisition usually have a melee or range focus. Melees usually specialise in either two handed weapons, sword & Board or duals.

Ranged are split by gunners and conventional.
There's not much room to retreat before the gobbos get to the compound wall.
The choke point coming from the wagon has been almost totally lost due to the second push catching most non veterans of goblin fights by surprise.

You inhale as you step forward the sunlight starting to shine brighter on the Academy, piercing through the slight clouds which were beginning to form around the spire and over the city. Each step brings more golden fire onto your skin as two spectral wings start to form behind you.

One of the most holy shapes in the Minervan pantheon; the shape of a Steward of Minerva. You are sunlight given substance and you are the very power of the sun as you begin calmly walking through the ranks of gathered inquisition troops. Cries of awe and "By Minerva." go up as your power continues to rise and rise, hair growing until it tumbles down your back and eyes changing from deep red to brilliant gold.

You inhale.

Even the goblinoids begin to shrink back at the blinding light that continues to grow and stream from you, little smokelike trails of gold tinkling out behind you towards the faithful who fall into step behind you alost in a trance as your power finally explodes all around you in a shockwave of divine power. Wounds are healed, courage is bolstered the foes of Minerva are temporarily blinded in the face of your beautiful and frightening majesty.

The lines part for you and you are marching towards the interlocking lines of carapaced Soldiers with tranquil fury, a polesaw in your right hand as if it were made of paper instead of roaring metal. In two voices you address those at your back.

Let all who try to bring darkness to the light quake in the face of the holy. Let the dawn break upon them like a vicious hound and tear their souls asunder. Inquisitors; I call upon you as Minerva's own. I call upon your oaths and your hearts. BURN THIS FILTH FROM MY WORLD!

You exhale and the enemy stumbles as if an Earthquake has struck, Maria of Darna and the goblins sent careening in all directions as a Goddess' malice weighs upon them like granite shackles. You're already amongst them when the shout goes up from a grizzled old zealot;

"FOR THE LADY AND HER CHAMPION!"

You're already amongst them as his proclamation of your station is met by a hundred almost feral roars. The horde originally had numbers and ferocity, against your might and discipline. But even their newfound discipline and magical acumen is no match for the nigh hundred holy warriors positively chomping at the bit to do the will of their diety made flesh. The walking angel who leads them into battle against one of the blights upon their world has demanded their service and they shall give it wholeheartedly.

The Goblins are trying to recover but the inqiuisition's rejuvenation is major and the slight gap that has opened up was charged into by a sickeningly solid line of great weapons impaling orange skinned soldiers and trampling drones alike. But your eyes aren't on the second years who have used the lull to bolt behind your frontline, whether to reasess the situation or withdraw. Nor is it Maria who's sturggling to get more than a knee under her to resist the tide of goblins slowly tearing her apart. Not even Freyja's return to the second line of inquisition soldiers turns your head from the prey you stalk.

Before the monster is even fully on whatever passes for feet your Polesaw is swung backhanded into the carapace of a blue goblin, cracking it is surprisingly easy. But it almost sheds the broken armour and attempts to slink away from you deeper into the horde as monsters swarm around you to cover it. A beat of your sunfire wings immolates coutless drones and allows you to pick up speed in your pursuit, dropping to your knees and spinning allows you duck the wild blows of twin soldiers and cleave them in half in a single graceful movement that brings your back on top of the blue skinned goblin.

It shows no signs of fear as you sink the polesaw down into it's head and hold down the mechanism that revvs it, the bloody cry of your weapon sounding like music to your ears whilst you carve your way down into the thing's blackened heart.

Oddly, the goblins around you and the enemy's left all pause for a second; allowing wounded to be reclaimed from the frontlines by the men behind them and Freyja to aid the inquisition in making huge strides. A firing line breaks up the soldiers in the centre before they can reinforce the shaken flank and you begin laying into those who's amrour keeps them holding. The claws form nigh instantly and you dig into the wrist, shredding the internal organs. Hopping backwards and allowing the wires to extend you spin and launch the soldier across the battlefield to die at the hands of Maria; the Danrite backhanding it into giblets as she begins to unveil her true prowess.

You Inhale.

With a high pitched battlecry, reinforcements arrive and you begin to feel everything is all right. A red haired paragon of combat begins carving her own crimson path into the fray as Warlord Chiron front flips to drive a gigantic axe into the ground through a Goblin Soldier as easily as you breath.

Vernon Lexington and his friend Professor Haryan on what can only be called on of the Chimera of Legend; both wizards standing firm on it'd back despite the dragon sized wings' force. It alights behind your lines and roars, both of them seemingly not joining the battle yet despite it's importance. The two are in furious conversation, an arguement in actuality. But soon you are forced back into the moment as your arms are clad in gauntlets to block a soldier's scythe arm at the last minute. With a gesture, the swords of the nearest dead Inquisition men ram into the thing's gut in a stream of unbridled and well crafted force. A second gesture forces the weapons out the back of the creature, the weapons caught by your magnetism robriting around you as your sunfire wings carry you into the sky.

You exhale.

The left flank seems to hesitate all of a sudden, your aerial view allowing you to witness the spread of terror despite the rallying presence and your divine form. The goblins pouring from the wagon seem to slow slightly and those nearest it throw themselves into the fray as they fan out. Clearing space?

Maria is in dire straits despite silver armour forming around her chest and legs, the Moon Worshipping brawler almost being bowled over by the weight of the blue and orange goblins swarming her. Were it not for whatever divine aid Darna were lending her, she'd mos tlikely be dead and would certainly be impossible to locate under her foes.

Brace for Praetorian! You hear a helmeted soldier who could be Nerrick on the flank desperately scream the order through the chaos around him.

All in the vicinity of Maria, whether friend or foes are reeling, the young girl being bought time and taking the advantage of the level playing field to crush a blue and orange skull with a punch each.
