Stage 190: The Taming Power of the Weak.

Rishi, like all Fire dragonettes, is attentive as long as you are teaching them something they want to learn. She's not wrong, of course, about needing more practical experience than actual training despite her desire to learn to fight better. She wants, perhaps needs to be better. The surprisingly self aware and calm warrior has no resentment at all for the defeat she suffered at your hands, only a desire to become better still. Her growing attachment to Fuuta-chan is something she can take advantage off, if Fuuta-chan is willing to accept her attachment.

That, of course, if the key issue. Fuuta-chan, kidnapped from your previous clan and taken into protective custody, is no less a prisoner now than she was before. Willingly so, yes, though her role as hostage may have been part of elaborate and long term plan to cause your people all sorts of trouble, you and Akari in particular.

You're not paranoid – they really are out to get you. Lots of theys are.

Still, she's happier and more comfortable here, and in addition to being watched over, she's treated as a person rather than a resource. Fuuta-chan's prophetic dreams assisted Oba-san, and while you've forbidden anyone from looking into her scroll, she's assisted you with important decisions in a couple of cases. So she's already proven valuable, and she's certainly a capable sorceress at least, in addition to her skills as a warrior (albeit less practiced). The slightly plump Void oni-child seems to like Rishi-san well enough, but this is the sort of arrangement that can't be taken lightly by anyone at all.

“You asked me if I would separate you from Fuuta-chan. What would you do if I ordered you away from her?” she's already answered the question, but she listens attentively despite that. “Would you defy me, ask me why? Do your best to please me to encourage me to rescind the order? See her secretly and act as though nothing untoward was happening? Hope that I might tacitly allow your visits to her and working with her, obeying the letter if not the spirit of the order?” You lean back and she sips her tea, watching you seriously. “Entering a relationship with her – one that is beyond merely having her as a member of our clan is something you must both consider seriously.”

You pause and she takes the offered opening. “You said 'our clan', sukeban. Does this mean you are not only breaking away from Ryo, but also planning to keep me from Hebedokei? Because if you are, that could end very badly for just about everyone in Clan Ryu, and I am not trying to threaten you or anything. It's just that Hebiki don't like anyone leaving the clan if they can help it, because we're not just dangerous to others, but because the secrets we keep are dangerous to the family and the clan alike. So if you're thinking about it, I don't mind going back, after I've trained, it isn't any trouble to me. I'd much rather do that than have the Hebiki – especially my aunt and my....” You blink as she actually pauses. “....my big brother to come and do harm to us. Akari-sama being here and part of the clan is bad enough but I don't think they could accept the loss of both of us, especially since I'm close to....” Her second pause in less than a minute makes you very curious. “....marriageable age.”

That's disturbing. Very disturbing. Her hedging suggests that her brother has a relationship with Akari's older sister or a different one to herself than she wants to openly admit to, and that marriage isn't actually the issue, but breeding. The idea of dragonette eugenics isn't all that unusual – it is, after all, how Kiki-hime will be the mother of a pretty Fire dragonette (who might be as cute as Kiku-chan, but is most likely going to be fairly well endowed!) and if Akari-chan and Yui-chan are careful, might end up with a Water dragonette or Water oni-child of their own. The clan secrets she's referring to are clearly more involved than wani-blood; that's a public secret, really, and one you're intimate with. Something Hebiki Naoto is not very happy about.

But there's more to it, and she's being very, very careful not to spill her clan's secrets if she's taking entire seconds to consider her phrasing.

[] That I don't like your aunt should come as no surprise. That I plan on killing her should come as less of one.
[] I hope you understand that when I say our clan, I mean that you are now a part of this one.
[] I shouldn't ask, but I am going to. Will you tell me your clan's secrets so I can better protect you and Akari?
[] That aside, do you want me to call Fuuta-chan here and we can discuss this together?
[] About that 'marriageable' issue. There's something you're going to have to consider while you're near me.

Shouldn't Akari know her clan's secrets even better than Rishi?
>>

Her former clan I mean. Or did Rishi have a higher standing than Akari?
>>

You would not be incorrect. She doesn't talk about her clan. At all. Ryukusa \respects that. But since Rishi opened up the can of worms....

Fair point, and I do wanna know those secretary, disturbing as they may be, but I'm not sure if asking right now will kind of taint our saying she's part of our family now. I don't think the clan is placed under a geas of some kind to keep their mouth shut, else them spilling the secrets wouldn't actually be a problem, but there might be some kind of magic involved that we should be wary of. Or is that actually being too paranoid?

Are we really planning on killing her aunt?

Did we meet her?

>>2508154

Think it should be pointed out. The Oni were pretty scary foes themselves, for anyone who's not as powerful as Ryukusa
>>
>>2508155

We're probably going to find a way to remove Kiku's curse before the daughteru gets any big.
>>
>>2508166
Ryukusa doesn't talk about killing people lightly so I assume Rishi's aunt did something to deserve it.

I like your point about Yui's family though I'm not sure if the same kind of abuse is happening in the Hebi clan.

I'm against having her reveal the secrets

We would trust her with OUR secrets if she was away from our clan, after all.

>With the spirit-child friendly restaurant near the top of one of the more expensive malls in Shibuya cleared out by the diners, only you, Er Yin-sensei, and Kiku-chan remain. Except for one other spirit child. Hebiki Rishi Is struggling under the vice-like grip of Akari-niji-chan's elder sister (actual elder sister, not merely clan-related!). Not struggling to escape, but to maintain her tenuous grip on her poise. A second of weakness, or the tiniest threat, and Nabiki will kill her and then turn on you....and anyone else nearby.

>It isn't merely that she's a cruel and wicked person – she is both, you are more than pretty certain – but that her wani-infused blood makes her prone to berserk fits of rage. Akari has the same traits, and relies on you to help her control herself when she might do something dangerous. To others, not herself, of course. And naturally, because the universe must conspire to make your life difficult at any time you are thoroughly enjoying yourself, Naoto-onee-san just happens to be the same kind of elemental force as Akari: Stone.

>Some ten feet away, Naoto has her nails driven into Rishi's shoulder, and Rishi's blood is staining her jacket; the normally chocolate eyes of the elder dragonette are jet black, her wani nature almost entirely in control, and you suspect that Oba-san is behind this particular bit of nastiness. Not that it took much, because Water eyes showed you the kind of person Naoto really is. Mostly a control freak who likes being in control and in charge. You took a good portion of that away from her when you immediately accepted her clan's offer to foster Rishi-chan with yours for training purposes. Whether or not she's a spy, plant, or trap....she's more of a dykish sort than a trappish short....cute, but hot tempered, like your favorite Fire Dragonette....smart though. Easily embarrassed and definitely in need of training....

[XX] I hope you understand that when I say our clan, I mean that you are now a part of this one.
[XX] About that 'marriageable' issue. There's something you're going to have to consider while you're near me.
[x] That aside, do you want me to call Fuuta-chan here and we can discuss this together?
[+] If you think those secrets will help me keep you and Akari Safe, you can tell me. No orders there, just your call, no pressure. Really! No pressure!
[+]

You sit up and evaporate everything in the teapot, and then call up fresh hot water, hinted ever so faintly with salt, and then pull a small tin out of Nowhere. the scent of peach blossoms and black tea surrounds you both as you open it – carefully, because your left hand can crumple it like a tin can....

….wait, it is a tin can, never mind.

Taking out one of the dragon-balls hidden within, you very gingerly drop it into the pot before heat the water to well above boiling. The scent explodes around you both and Rishi's nose twitches as she scents the oolong tea. You cover it and lean against the seat at the side, looking seriously at the slim dragonette. “I don't like Akari's sister. Your aunt. I don't like bullies in the first place, but she's a psychopath, and she scares me. Generally speaking if something scares me it's more of an intellectual exercise than actual fear. Naoto makes me worry, and I don't intend her to survive any meeting that has the slightest chance of ending in bloodshed again.”

Rishi rubs her shoulder absently, without even realizing it. “She's already made it clear she's not going to let Akari stay, regardless of her clan's wishes, though she's toeing the line for now. The chances of her allowing you to stay are zero. But really, she's just made it very clear to me she's a monster wearing a dragonette's pretty face. And I'm not talking about the wani blood either.” Rishi looks down, not saying anything. “I am not allowing her to harm any member of our clan ever again.” That brings Rishi's eyes up to yours, wide and glimmering bright. “I only allowed her to do so before because I couldn't risk Kiku-chan. She's with child and that lunatic wouldn't care who she hurt.”

Rishi nods slowly. “She's crazy, Ryukusa-sama. She's taken pieces out of her lovers, on purpose. Most of them wouldn't fight back, because she has very high standing in the clan, she's like fourth in command if the daimyo is removed and no one really likes that idea except the general, and he's not much less crazy himself. It's like living out those cartoons about the Iga-Kouga ninja wars or something,I swear to kami. But you really don't....” You look at her blankly, and she blushes, her eyes glowing and her cheeks brightening with her hot blood. “Okay, so maybe you do, but it's not....” She bows her head. “Sorry, I'll stop saying it.”

“Doesn't do any good to stop saying it if you don't stop thinking it. You're ours now, and we're not letting you go. Incidentally, if any of the secrets you know might help me cope with her, you don't have to mention them to me. You can, but it's entirely all right if you don't. You're not obligated to betray them, or even fight them.” A new and unpleasant thought wanders through your brain. Damn. It's almost perfect.

If she and Akari are 'required' to return to their clan, especially if Akari is 'ordered' by Oba-san, or Oba-san explains that you're outcast and the Hebiki may do as they like to get Akari back, it would be terribly convenient for them to incidentally capture Fuuta-chan as well. Kiki-hime might not be Oba-san's concern, but she'd make a very nice present to the Kaga Clan in a bid for support to her new government status – especially if she did it by way of giving her to the Hojo Group to give her back.

“That aside,” you murmur softly, before pouring the very very strong oolong tea for yourself and then her, and adding a pat of butter to her tea, which makes her look all sorts of adorably confused. “If you'd like we can call Fuuta-chan in and discuss it with her together. She needs a say in it eventually. But I leave that to you to decide because you're the one whose interest started this. But you have a little time, Rishi-san. I'm not going to rush this, because it's the sort of thing you can't rush. Also, it's important to know – merely being in proximity of me increases your fertility. That's something you may want to consider if you decide to return to your clan at all. I really hope you will formally ask me so I can say 'no' of course, but I'm not stupid enough to tell a Fire dragonette to not do surprising or thoughtless things.”

She opens her mouth, then closes it, and then sips the tea, the near boiling liquid no threat to either of you. You sip yours and blink, surprised by the pleasant mellowing of salt with the butter and wondering why the kamidamned Heavens you decided to put salt and butter in your friggin' tea!

“It's good,” Rishi informs you, and you're inclined to agree with her. “I'd like the chance to talk to her about it myself if you don't mind sukeban. I'd rather she not feel any pressure to do anything, and you might be kind and well intentioned but you're the daimyo and she might feel; that pressure anyways, especially since she's the one making prophecies and stuff about you.”

“Noticed that did you?”

Nodding, she continues. “Realistically, I'd like to get the chance to know her better too, aside from the anecdotes and stories Akari shares and stuff. And I think I'd like to get her some more clothes. Her allergies are really hard on her, aren't they, so it's best if she has something nice to show up to the meeting with the Yakuza with, if you're going to take her I mean. I mean, you should, but I wouldn't want to impose or presume, you know, because that's really your prerogative. If you have a style choice in mind I'd like to keep it in that theme, of course, maybe as a getting to know her present, if that okay with you, sukeban.”

“That's fine. We'll continue this alter then. I want you to be truthful with her at all times, though – it's going to be very important if you're going to be her protector.” Not to mention of she's going to be Rishi's keeper; it's not really the best word of it, but Fuuta-chan can be for Rishi what you are for Akari. In fact it's curious that you have sets of oni-children and dragonettes. Well, not really, it just seems that the two spirit children complement each other in many ways. You both finish your tea and you stand up and she bows slightly – at least until you catch her and help her up. You lay a kiss on her forehead and she blushes prettily, looking all sorts of consternated.

“You're safe here. I'll make sure of it, just like I have for my family, Rishi-chan. I can't promise anymore....but the intent is still there. All right?”

The young dragonette nods rapidly, her tail twitching rapidly back and forth as you pick up the tea service with your tail and carry it out of the bedroom. She hesitates, and then restrains herself from asking if you would like her to do it. Rishi is sharp, much sharper than you'd anticipated; that's both good and bad. If you'd wanted her to do it, you would have had her do it, but there's no reason to start that sort of nonsense.

Lunch is being served, slowly but surely, and it's nearly a party. Your living room contains them all fairly well, but you note the conspicuous absence of Kiku and Er Yin. Kiki-hime looks moderately worried, though, and that's not a great sign. She's hiding it really well, but that tendency for her hand to try and move to her other arm, the twitches when someone moves too close behind her....she's going to bee therapy of some sort, or maybe just a lot of warm hugs.

[] Warm hugs! And of course, reassurance, but hugs!
[] Let Fuuta-chan know what you think through the Void.
[] Ask someone in the know whether or not Er yin and Kiku have been out of their room.

Cousin. The child of your aunt is your cousin.

again, neither has mentioend it, except technically Rishi, so technically it's not something to be made public, but Ryukusa can make exceptions since Rishi did in fact mention the relationship in passing. As stated Akari NEVER talks about her clan or family.

I feel like I'm misunderstanding a relationship here...who's whose child? I thought Akari and Naoto are sisters and Naoto is Rishi's aunt? Would make Akari her aunt too, no? Or her mother I guess, but obviously not.

Anons figured out a very dirty Hebiki family (and possibly, probably) Hebedokei Clan secret. Ryukusa is putting it together rapidly based on anon's discovery.

Unhappy is a mild way of putting the resulting feelings.

[XXX] Warm hugs! And of course, reassurance, but hugs!
[XX] Track down That Cat and thank her personally. She's nearby, you can feel it.
[X] Time to talk to Yui and Akari together. They need to know about Rishi and Fuuta.

You let your hand caress Rishi's other shoulder, and are rewarded with a rather kind, genuinely happy smile from the slender yet clearly tough young dragonette. Kami does it make you feel older! You slip through the happily conversing crowd, no one avoiding getting in your way as much as meeting your gaze, acknowledging your presence and remaining calm as you smile and caress, pet, kiss, or tail touch them. Even your newest warriors, despite the slight nervousness as you approach, remain calm and relaxed as you pass. Even Kaga Kei who is talking with Shoko and Yuuhi about their unique natures.

There's hope for her yet.

Kiki-hime is overseeing the kitchen, drafting anyone who lingers to long to carry food or drinks somewhere into the house or to people, but by and large everyone has something, is near something, or is being served something. You slip into the kitchen, and a glance is enough to send Inau-kun and Fuuta-chan into the living room with the last of the plates and trays.

The princess smiles up at you, her sky-blue eyes bright with love and affection, and perhaps a little mischief as you slowly walk around behind her. Gentle, careful hands and tail circle around her as you wrap her in the sleeves of your kimono and pull her into a hug from behind. She sighs happily, relaxing into your arms and twining her tail with yours. Your eyes drift close as you inhale the sakura blossom scent of her and the delicate, faint fragrance of rosewood incense that seems to mingle with her scent.

“A new perfume, or hair wash, Hime-chan?” you whisper in her ear softly as you sway to no music.

Kiki-hime slowly sways with you and giggles. “No, why?”

You smile and whisper in her ear softly. “Our little girl smells like burning rosewood,” you tell her, and her blood rushes to her face and ears, a slow, deep flush along her breasts. “She smells beautiful,” you add and she looks down, her body slowly suffused with heat at your words. Not merely the heat of embarrassment either. “Her mother smells wonderful.”

“Ryu-chan, stop,” she whispers back, with very little force behind the words.

'As much as I would love to, my beloved, I have to do a few more things. Checking up on your older sister, who I am certain is just fine, is among them.” Er Yin wouldn't dare exclude you from the laying of Kiku-chan's egg. She would never live it down.

The words still have their intended effect. “Thank you, otousan. You always know just what to do.” You hum, all the disagreement you're going to make, and she sighs happily, her tail tracing yours slowly.

“I'm looking forward to having you back in our bed, you know,” she informs you softly. “But I can wait. Our family has grown, and despite being an only child....I don't think I'm all that jealous about it.”

“Probably because they'll actually serve you hand and foot if you asked, and do it with smiles and love,” you reply, earing yourself a light slap on the tail with her tail. “And I know at least three of them who will happily provide any other serves her highness might require of them,” you tease, kissing her neck and being rewarded with a soft, excited gasp rather than a playful swat or a joking hush.

You're not exactly unaffected by it either, truth be told!

“Go, my love. See to our clan. I will be here for you.” Those six words send a thrill down your spine that you couldn't have imagined ever being yours to enjoy. You slowly slip away and she watches you go with pride, her eyes filled with love and heat of an entirely different sort than Kiku's or Rishi's tend towards.

Deep breaths, calming breaths. Ha ha, okay, yes, right.

Yui and Akari are sitting next to one of the windows. It only shows the great wall that the landlord put up, but the sunlight streaming from the heavens is enough to papple it and give it a measure of character. Akari is sitting on the floor, looking up at Yui, who is seated on a bench or storage box with a cushioned top that stretches the length of the window. You probe it, carefully, the waste of shen worthwhile when you discover what lies within: weaponry. Swords, spears, naginata, staff and even a tsubo. Yui seems a little ill at ease, but Akari is just basking in her presence, smiling warmly and looking at the soft oni-chick with bright carnelian eyes.

….That's odd. Something about the cast of Akari's face as she tilts her head.

[] Just watch them for a bit. It's comforting to see.
[] Plum wine for them both and yourself. You won't get many chances for this soon.

[] Sit with Yui, and put on a little tiny show for Akari....or whoever.

Question: can we talk about anything of our trip in Hell? I get that the dead can't speak like that, but there are several instances of people going to hell then coming back to tell the story.

Might depend on what hell and how they escaped it
Sounded like Ryukusa was pretty thoroughly barred from discussing it

I have to admit, deciding between sitting with Yui or Akari was a very tough decision. Show and relaxation are both excellent activities!
>>
>>2508516
Unfortunately, there are very strict limitations on what Ryukusa can and cannot discuss. she doesn't quite know what they are, but she immediately knows when she tries to talk about them (Kami stuff, in other words - she won't accidentally violate something and get punished for it, but she can't experiment with it to find out what she can and cannot discuss). However:

>(Er Yin, I believe your mother may be in Japan. She may even be looking for you, or looking out for you.) You seem to have hit a peculiar snag; like discussion Amaterasu-Omikami, you can't discuss what occurred in Diyu, including meeting Er Yin-sensei's mother. Discussing her in general terms seems to be fine, fortunately, so that's all right. (I can't tell you where or now I learned this, but suffice it to say she's as cleaver and dangerous as I am, and seems to be curious about you. I haven't told anyone else yet; I leave it in your hands.)

>Er Yin stiffens, then forces herself to relax, stroking your long, long hair and smiling at you. (I appreciate your concern, Ryukusa-sama. You needn't worry for me; I am capable of dealing with her should she try and seek me out, though I believe this place is safe from most forces that wish to do us harm.)

>(We've been wrong about that before – more than once, as I recall,) you point out dryly, much to Er Yin-sensei's amusement.

The tiebreaker for me is that Akari might have something important to say.
>>
>>2508573
Hmm... might we talk about our impression of her mother, without referring to what experiences the impression is based on? At the very least Er Yin should be able to talk about what she knew of her in life, but I presume she doesn't much wish to.

[XX] Plum wine for them both and yourself. You won't get many chances for this soon.
[X] Sit with Akari, let Yui feel the difference between you in command and you relaxing.

You take your special wine box from Nowhere, noting as you do so that it is much easier to take out than most other things, even personal things of yours within it. Most likely because it is magical, and magical things are less bound by the feelings and situations of Japan as a whole. How much that will change you haven't any idea.

A trio of dishes stolen from an end table as you pass make for an easily filled set of plates as you walk towards the pair. Yui starts to get up, to help you but Akari pats the air at her, and she sits back down, a little stiffly. Offering her the plate on your hand, she takes it gratefully, bowing her head to you. “Tch, you're not on duty; relax, Yui-chan.” She smiles and touches her new, shimmering collar and does try to relax.

Akari takes both of the other dishes as you settle next to her, and hands one back with a smile. Delicate, cute smile, the constant, ever present smile that is not an affectation but is genuine in it's own way. “Kompai,: you salute them and they raise their dishes, reciting the toast back to you. You watch Akari as she tilts her head back, a glimmer of something in her face, the line of her jaw, the way her hair....

Her hair.

“What's wrong, aniki?” Yui asks softly, her own power over the Wind capable of shielding her – and your – voice from the others. Akari looks at you, confusions, and you reach over, tucking your hand under her bangs, shifting them, repositioning them ever so slightly....you set the Box of Sake down and stare at her, the resemblance obvious once you see past the stoic expression and the color and layout of their eyes. It's the hair, of course. Short, near, thick.

And then it's the blood. You delve into it, exploring it. Faintly, almost distantly you hear Rishi-chan complain that a ghost passed through her. It's not a ghost, it's your power. The power that reads her blood, compares it to your Akari's blood.

Akari isn't her cousin.

No, Akari is her cousin.

And her aunt.

Their blood is shared in several different directions, and none of them healthy or safe. The wani-blood and its cultivation, not to mention the ability to control it must be a very fine, delicate piece of work. And the Hebedokei clan is a fine piece of work all right. Your own blood is nearly boiling and the soft blue cast along Akari's face accents her alarm and shock all too well. “....aniki?” she asks in a very small voice.

Soft, warm hands gently take yours, removing your right hand from Akari's forehead, and taking your left from your thigh and gently placing them together.

'S all right, Ryu. She's fine, they're fine. Yeh don' have t' be mad at them. No scarin' the pretty girls. Rie's voice, silent and soft, her insubstantial hands gently holding yours, the warmth of her against your back. It's soothing. It's gentle.

It's not enough.

[X] Calm, Ryukusa, calm. Their time will come.
[XX] Tell your best friend that you've failed her, and you'll redress that as soon as feasible.
[XXX] Have Yui collect Rishi and meet you and Akari in the shrine.
[+] Do nothing rash.

Giving silent thanks to the Guardian Spirit of your clan, you take a deep, slow breath. You reach out and take Akari's hand, the burning light of your eyes no longer illuminating her expression, which is much more calm. Schooling your own expression, you speak softly to Yui, her power keeping your words private. “Yui-niji-chan, would you bring Rishi-san to the shrine for me. I think I will want you there as well. No one else, please.”

Akari glances at you and then at Yui....and then deliberately doesn't look at Rishi. “Aniki-”

“Go on, Yui,” you murmur over Akari's nascent protest, as Yui glances at Akari and then Rishi in confusion. Your instruction galvanizes her and she hops up in a playful manner, nothing wrong here, all is well in the world, and could you come with me, Rishi, aniki wants to talk to you, but sukeban already talked to me, who is sukeban, just follow me.

You open your eyes as Akari watches Yui heading towards Rishi, her free hand reaching for Yui. Taking that hand as well, you put up an intense wall of air between the two of you and the others, a field of wind powerful enough to faintly distort your bodies. “Please forgive this incredibly stupid....” It takes a supreme effort to force the word out, your eyes shut and your hands carefully holding Akari's. “....this idiotic, foolish, monumentally stupid....stupid c-carp....” Akari's eyes go wide, wide enough that her scleras are visible all the way around her eyes. She turns as red as ruby, mouth open slightly, her utter disbelief at that particular pejorative used towards yourself. “I have failed you, Aki-chan, failed you terribly.”

“Ku-chan, what....” her bewilderment is almost total, but you push ahead anyways.

“I won't promise, Aki-chan....but I will make sure that they pay for this, many with their lives, all of those involved, unless you decree otherwise.” You stare into her eyes and her mouth shut with a snap and all the blood leaves her face.

She doesn't resist as you lead her to the shrine. Yui cleverly heads off Kaga Kei and Inau-kun, headed towards you for one reason or another, and Shoko rises to speak with you, sees Akari's expression and immediately wanders into the kitchen to distract Kiki-hime. Jinyuu-onee-sama flicks her fan open and fans herself once before setting it on the table, half open. You reply with a dismissive flick of your tail and she relaxes, or seems to, understanding that it is a deeply personal matter to be dealt with in extreme privacy. This prompts her to rise and walk over to Yuuhi, who is awake and watching you leave suspiciously, and then nearly collapses against your sister's legs as her ears are lovingly stroked.

Entering the shrine you and Akari both ritually cleanse yourself, her stoicism keeping her from shaking even though her shock and tension are intense. You, of course, have no issues with trembling, since you're fully healed and have nearly all your Shen. Yui-niji-chan and Rishi-san slip in after you, and perform their ablutions as you lead Akari to the cushions, and guide her to sit.

Too shaken to speak, when Rishi sees her, she pauses in her ablutions, then looks at you, her eyes wide and fearful. You nearly jump out of your skin when Rie hops off a shelf and lands on the floor nearby, walking over to sit on a cushion facing away from the iconography and towards all of you.

>Take a deep breath. Be like the oceanic, abyssal depths, still and calm even when a storm blows the surface. It is not because you feel that you must be consummated by the feeling. You are Ryu Ryukusa, and you will act for your beloved ones's sake, and yours too.

QM, this is why Akari had such troubles accepting us giving her a child, right? Not the "bodyguard must get rid of bastards" mentality getting drilled into her like Ryukusa thought.

[+] You can weather this too.

It's not hard to let your body perform the things you need it to do while you take care of business. In this case, taking care of business means controlling the righteous wrath of the Kami at a terrible cruelty intended towards people you like and a person you love. That you'd already technically rescued her from it by making her part of your clan is irrelevant; Akari was slated to be....breathing. Let the body breathe, the heart beat, the mind be still. The oceanic calm of the abyssal depths is yours, and you will revel in them, let the cool, dark power flow through your veins and soothe your heart.

You gesture Rishi over, pawing at the air lightly and smiling in a friendly manner. The hiding of your intent and desires is easy, second nature to you, both as a Water dragonette and a warrior trained in Ryo Clan techniques.

Unfortunately she's trained in them as well as her own techniques, and is a Fire dragonette.

Her Fire Eyes burst open and they see the truth of the matter instantly and irrevocably. You don't react to it, allowing her to believe that you cannot sense those Eyes upon you, just like everyone else. To your great relief it is Yui-niji-chan who comes to your rescue; the lighting fast mind of the Fire dragonette is gently distracted by her soft, soothing voice and a pair of soft breasts pressed against a bare arm, surprising the young dragonette.

“It's okay.” Rishi looks at Yui with a panicked expression, one not brought on by her close proximity. The deceptively gentle grip on her arm helps, of course. Yui smiles and speaks softly. “It's okay. It's Ryuu Ryukusa. You don't have to be afraid of her, if you're not a threat to our family.”

Rishi-san bites her lip and looks at you, studying you with those hot eyes of near-magenta. She nods slowly and finishes the cleansing as she closes the Fire Eyes. Akari looks at you with that terrifyingly frightened expression, her mask utterly shattered and her spirit clearly in turmoil. You grip her hand firmly, your sister by blood and in spirit. You quash the thoughts that elicits; your love for her is pure, and your spiritual sisterhood is just that, spiritual. They'll pay for making that a thing to bother either of you.

You suspect you understand Susano-Oh a bit better, really.

“Rie-sama, welcome to our shrine.” That makes you pause. It is literally a shrine to both of you, which is a little weird. Akari stifles a choked laugh, and you can feel the tears unshed in her eyes. “Okay, yes, that's little weird.” Rie-sama, wearing the body of the white schoolgirl, nods casually, her twinned tails lashing slowly before curling behind her head in paired question marks.

“Merrp.”

….

You have absolutely no idea how to respond to that.

Rishi goes to sit across from you but you gesture to the cushion next to Akari. “Please sit next to your relative.” Yui-niji-chan is unsurprised, but then, with the way she sees the world you're not terribly shocked. Rishi looks down, shamefaced, and Akari reaches over without looking to offer her hand, which Rishi, blushing, takes in hers. Yui takes the seat Rishi was going to take as you turn on your cushion to face the two dragonettes. Rishi and Akari adjust their seating so they're more facing you than not.

“I want you to know, that I it is all right. I know what Hebedokei is doing, and I disapprove, but that it has brought me my best and most beloved friend and a fine young warrior to train and call one of my very own is nothing for either of you to be ashamed of.” Rishi is still nervous, but Akari is still crushed, the burden she has carried so long hurting her so much more now. “You are both safe. You, Akari-chan, have had my promise since long before I was a demigod, and that promise will always be more important to me than anything else.”

Akari lowers her head, nodding, still pale, still shocked. Yui watches her with sympathy, but no pity. As is her right; her burdens were as bad as yours and Akari's, if not worse in some ways.

“I don't know what's so upsetting. We do that thing all the time.” All four of you look at Rie, who looks back with absolute aplomb at all four of you.

“But....you're a nekomata!” exclaims Rishi.

“And you're a big lizard. So?”

Yui can't help it. She covers her mouth, and she tries, but she bursts out in insidious giggles. Infectious giggles, because you really can help the smile that creeps over your lips. Rishi gapes at the nekomata, who tilts her head and sticks her tongue out at the dragonette. Akari can't help it either; she bursts out into laughter, though it's a little hysterical. Rishi looks at Akari....and then chuckles and runs a hand through her hair. “Okay, yeah, that was dumb.” Akari hugs her, and things are better.

Not fixed, not perfect, and certainly not normal, but better.

You agree with Akari this time around.

They're okay.

This is part of it - she shouldn't be capable of it anyways, but yes, she is well aware of the breeding program and it has left her with issues she's never had to deal with in public until this very moment. This is also why she and Rishi were quite certain they wouldn't be allowed to stay - not the Wani blood, but the bloodlines they carried, to put it nicely.

Player request.

Dyke is a personality type, an attitude one adopts. Switch is a sexual preference for being dominant or submissive (which is ddifferent than top or bottom).

Essentially, it's stating that Yui is always a tomboy, but in bed she will be either dominant or submissive depending on the situation (in one memorable instance she was allowed to dominate Ryukuza).
