/qst/ - Quests

>Bane Train of Pain Edition

Hello, good people of /qst/. This quest is, as is probably obvious from the OP pic, based on the Teen Titans animated series. You'll be taking the part of a young man and potential Titan, guiding him through his trials and tribulations.

>Rules

There will be a 15 minute voting period between posts.

Please only choose one option (I will let you know in cases where you can choose more)

An option with two arrows (>>) beside it is one that can be combined with other options

Write-ins of dialogue are allowed, but they won't be put in as-written, just sort of the spirit of the write-in. Additionally, dialogue write-ins require a significant amount of support from other players to be put in, as they can greatly affect the character.

Action write-ins will only be allowed under certain circumstances, which I'll announce. You can suggest an action to me if you want, and I may allow it, but might not depending on various factors.

No dice system in this quest. Victory and defeat will come down to decisions rather than random luck. Learn from experiences, develop strategies, and think outside the box at times (like I said, an action can be suggested to me).

Above all, have fun. I want this to be an enjoyable experience for everyone. Through success, failure, and everything in-between, I hope this will be an adventure worth remembering.

Chatty Leader standing by, hopefully internet remains stable.
>>
As the beast of a man known as 'Bane' stands on the other side of the little 'ring' created by several copies of Billy Numerous, towering above you like a giant, waiting for you to make your first move, you try your best to assess the situation and plot a course of action.

Keeping your mind focused for this fight is a bit more difficult than you'd expected, with fear popping up every few moments to distract you, reminding you how this man beat both Robin and Starfire half to death the last time he showed himself in Jump City. You're no slouch at fighting, but you know your skills don't match Robin's. And you're strong, but the red-haired alien easily puts you to shame on that front.

If neither of them could handle Bane, what hope do you have?

Bane carries himself with complete superiority. He isn't like Blood, who always seems to act like a god among insects, but rather in the way of a mighty predator standing before wounded prey. The battle hasn't even begun, and yet he treats you as if you are on your last legs. Normally, such confidence would be a major weakness, one you could easily exploit, but in this case, you aren't so sure that his behavior isn't warranted.

The masked man spreads his arms wide in invitation, leaving himself completely exposed to your attacks without a shred of fear.

"Come, Crimson, I will allow you the first strike," he prompts, maintaining that pose as he waits for you to take him up on his offer.

The ball's in your court. What will you do?

>A. Get right in there and fight him hand-to-hand. Make use of barriers and slide as necessary.

>B. Create the strongest barrier you can manage between yourself and Bane. Hold out until your friends arrive.

>C. You're carrying a blaster, and he's wide open. Pull it out and shoot him (aim to kill/don't)

>D. Use your powers to restrain him. Hold him for as long as possible to buy time

>E. He wants to see what you can do? Fine. Crush him like an insect with the full might of your powers

There aren't too many options available to you that seem like they'd have much of a chance at working. A head-on confrontation will likely result in you becoming a smear on the floor, and you aren't sure if Bane will keep his generous mood if you pull a blaster on him. You aren't confident enough in your barriers to use them and stall for time, and you worry that attempting to restrain him will simply result in you exhausting yourself and becoming easy prey for your opponent.

But, even if you can't outlast him that way, maybe you can find a way to wear him down. Unlike Bane, you don't need to physically touch someone in order to strike them. If you can keep yourself out of reach and use your Psychic attacks to slowly wear him down, it is possible that you can win this fight, or at least keep standing until the other Titans get here.

Reaching out with your mind, you strike at Bane, punching at his liver with a psychic attack. Bane winces, but doesn't seem that hurt.

"Oh ho ho, you strike with your mind instead of your body," he observes, lowering his arms and putting a foot forward. "I know of your powers, Crimson, and I will break both body and mind myself!"

Bane charges, moving with much greater speed than you would expect from someone of his size. You barely have time to slide out of the way, narrowly avoiding a skull-shattering punch from the giant barreling down on you. He quickly changes course, but another Psychic Strike to the kidney slows him down enough to grant you some distance.

Growling in annoyance, Bane suddenly leaps into the air, coming down on you like a lightning-bolt. This time, you're forced to teleport, moving behind Bane and to the edge of Billy's self-made ring. You re-materialize to find Bane in a crouched position, and as he rises back to his feet, he yanks his fist free of the floorboards, which he seems to have punched right through.

He turns to face you, eyes narrowed behind his mask.

"This tactic will not work," he warns. "Your pitiful attacks are nothing to me, and you will tire before I do. If these attacks are the best you can muster, then I am truly disappointed."

>A. Fine, you'll give him a fight. Combine your martial arts with your powers and give Bane everything you have!

>B. Use barriers and try to keep him back

>C. Forget this, take out your blaster and start firing!

>D. You'll show him what you can do. Restrain him until the others arrive

>E. Fine, no holding back. Unleash your full fury and crush him into dust!

This.
>>
>>2585970
Bane can talk all he likes, but as far as you're concerned, this battle is just as much about mental discipline as physical endurance. As long as this strategy keeps you alive, and you keep managing to get shots in, you are going to stick with it, no matter what Bane has to say about it.

Seeing you make no moves to change your strategy, Bane charges you once again. You throw a Psychic Strike at his kidney, but his arm moves over the spot, and while you aren't positive, you think he just blocked your punch. You begin to slide away as he closes in, but the big man kicks with his right leg, stopping your retreat and knocking you to the ground, the air knocked from your lungs as you hit the floor.

Bane raises his foot, and you just barely roll out of the way in time as he stomps right through the floorboards over which your skull rested just a moment ago. As he turns toward you, you quickly strike with another Psychic Attack, this time aiming for his face. His head moves with the impact, but he doesn't seem hurt. Scowling, he moves to stomp you again, but this time you gain distance with teleportation.

"Is running all you can do, child?" Bane challenges, slowly turning to face you once more. "With how Blood spoke of you, I'd expected to find someone who could fight. But this? This is pathetic. You waste your energy trying to drag this out, you strike without your full might, not giving your attacks enough power to damage me. This strategy will not save you. Soon, you will slip up or tire, and I will crush your skull myself."

>A. Ignore him and keep at it

>B. Keep your distance, but forget about conserving your energy. Strike him with all that you have.

>C. Pathetic? You'll show him. Crush him with your furious power

>D. Show him how strong you are and restrain him

>E. Make a break for Robin and try to escape

He's right about the risks, but that's why we need to keep our focus.

>F. Let's try out our martial arts style just to see how it will turn out, if that fails I suppose keep on whittling him down with maybe some hovering above the ground to lower his reach?

I want to get him to at least begrudgingly respect our fighting style.

If all else fails we can still restrain him.
>>
>>2587282
While he's currently berating us for our strategy, I think we can stick to it and still get him to respect us. What ultimately matters is if we achieve some measure of success against him. If we do so, then I think Bane will respect that we had the conviction to stick with a strategy even he thought was wrong.

We do need to be more misleading with our slides though. Fake one direction with body movement, and then slide a different direction, etc.
>>
>>2587282
>>2587364
I’m a bit confused and disturbed that Bane’s respect is in any way a factor here
>>
>>2587392
Bane is cool (to readers), therefore having Bane's respect is desirable (to readers).

There are in-game reasons why his respect would be advantageous though: it gives us a stronger position when interacting with him in the future.
>>
Guys, are we even sure MoG is coming back?
>>
>>2588115
Nothing to do but wait and see. Relax, and give it time. Its probably an anxiety attack, they don't last forever.
>>

>>2586703
Y'all are probably giving him anxiety by talking about his anxiety out loud here.
Or her (pfft)

>>2587392
I agree. We should absolutely not care about Bane's respect, it's an effing trap and we'll die or get maimed the second we try to be cool.
It happens LITERALLY every time a young hero is provoked by an older villain. Seriously one of the oldest tricks in the book.
Stay away from Bane and keep stalling until help arrives.

>>2588139

Reposting from last thread:

So KC is probably going to be too busy to dwell on romantic stuff for the next thread or three, but what do people think he should do regarding Donna? Its now completely unambiguous that she's attracted to him, though how far that extends in either direction is a big question mark. I personally feel that, being neither oblivious nor a coward, KC should answer her directly.

In character he's acknowledged a degree of physical attraction to all the girls (including Starfire), but not an emotional/romantic preference (he likes all of them in different, but not explicitly romantic, ways). So despite rooting for Raven, my sense of storytelling and honesty say that he's willing to explore this new avenue: by virtue of being the first to signal interest to him, I think Donna has successfully won a try, even if KC isn't specifically looking for any sort of /qst/-mandated forever-relationship.

In fact, I think the only chance Rose or Raven have (again in terms of narrative, not votes) is 1. They come forward and express their interest in equally unambiguous terms before KC asks Donna out to answer her interest, or 2. A relationship with Donna doesn't work out. An additional handicap is that Raven and Rose don't know that Donna has made a move.

There is a wrinkle however: Starfire. Given her sense for emotional connections, she definitely picked up on what Donna was doing during the game of tag. She may very well ship Donna/KC, but she may also ship Raven/KC, or Rose/KC (or be ambivalent herself), in which case she may have informed one or both to make their moves immediately so that Pete can make a decision instead of simply accept Donna's uncontested proposal.

If that's the case, everything rides on Raven and Rose's feelings, once we get the current mess (which may or may not involved punching/getting killed by Brother Blood).
>>
>>2592999
I think she will probably be ambivalent, but maybe she'll try to talk about their feelings anyway
Rose and Raven might choose to try and make their feelings known, but their disadvantage is that they would probably be more subtle than Donna.
And Pete isn't dense, but we didn't get much of a reaction here, maybe because of the Nile.
>>
>>2593790
The Nile?

The way I figure it, Peter didn't react directly to Donna's flirtation because the actual tag scene was wrapped up by MoG, though our choice to chase after her before he did so can be read as a positive response, depending on what ends up happening.

As for Rose and Raven, I don't know if they would necessarily be subtler. I don't know if the prospect of a relationship is a weak point for Rose, but the rest of her personality is pretty bold. So, subtle? Maybe. Inept? More likely.

As for Raven, I don't think subtlety is her weakness either. If she has feelings, the struggle would be deciding whether she should act on and express them at all. If she does decide to act, I could see her being fairly direct with her words.

Ironically, Donna, while not subtle, was more indirect than I theorize Rose or Raven to be, having not out and out said anything, though still made her intentions abundantly clear.
>>
>>2594013
As in he didn't acknowledge it internally, yet. Though I think him meditating on it would be a good moment to solidify the players' views on what he thought about it.
Also see your point on the other things, maybe subtle wasn't the best word. But I do believe Raven would hesitate/ponder and Rose would fumble and maybe not come off like she wanted. I guess you are also right that Donna wasn't direct, she was just flirty.
>>
>>2594351
It wasn't direct but it was unambiguous, and though MoG didn't describe KC registering it internally, we, the players did, and I will count that as the same thing. As I said before, KC needs to respond, one way or another, to Donna's flirtation. To do nothing or pretend he didn't notice feels out of character.
>>
>>2594384
Not what I suggested, but I think when he has time he should think back to that, like I said in the previous post, and then we can decide on a course of action in a simpler way (by inserting our choices into his line of thought about it).
>>
The amazon was probably just being flirty for the hell of it.
Im sure shes like that with beast boy and cyborg to
>>
>>2594823
Ah, that's fair.

Like I said, I'm team Raven, but given the situation, I'm open to giving it a shot. Maybe take Donna out on a date and see how things go.

>>2595071
I'm skeptical about your premise, but I can't outright dismiss it.
>>
>>2595102
Just seemed to me from the way she was full on for killing blood that she's doesn't have a normal girl personality.
She seems like a live in the moment, no bullshit kind of gal.
I could see her being flirty to all the guys.
Fuck, all the girls to probably, shes from lesbian amazon island after all.
Probably wouldn't care about other people being in relationships already to.
>>
>>2595125
You make a compelling argument. We need more data. Or just proceed and figure it out as we go.

You know, that would be pretty fucking funny.

"waitwaitwaitwait time out for a second... I need to show you something on youtube..."

"Bane would suspect a trap, but he senses sincerity instead. Very well. Show Bane. ...But- but why would she shoot him AFTER throwing him out of the plane? Or at all for that matter?"
>>
>>2598527
Yeah, at least shooting him first means you're being thorough. The shoot is to kill him, the toss is to get rid of the body over international waters.
>>
>>2598632
>over international waters.
But they’re flying over land
>>
>>2599828
Eh. Dumping them in the jungle then. Point is, dumping the bodies where they won't be found for some time.
>>
Alright dude it's been almost a week, either tell us if your coming back or that you quit forever. Anon's gave you a second chance and you fucked them over.

Either sort your shit out or just say it's over and fuck off.
>>
>>2602172
I feel you, anon, but hostility only hurts the possibility of a better outcome for those of us who are willing to wait and see.
>>
>>2602172
Chill, bro. I understand why you are upset, but there are no benefits that can come from that attitude.
We don't know what's going on, so let's just wait and see, like the other guy said.
I've been through some shit myself, so I am willing to give MoG the benefit of the doubt.
>>
I know this isn't what you want to hear anons, but this quest is dead. This quest is dead because MoG is a flake, and when one anon spearheaded the vote in a way he didn't like, he immaturely said 'fuck it' and left. You know, like abandoned this quest before with a rocks fall out of left field?

That said, if you don't want to believe that it doesn't matter. Quite frankly even if he does pick this back up it would just show that when a QM treats his audience like trash they can still expect your participation because you need your fix. You might think me an asshole for being so blunt, but I've seen this before, and I know especially with fanfic quests this is the case, most of you read this because you like the Teen Titans and will continue to read it as long as it runs because it revolves around those beloved characters and plots that bring no small amount of happiness via nostalgia. I stopped playing once the QM decided that it was okay to rocks fall kill off the MC, no apology, no notification or explanation.

Nothing.

Then he begged for forgiveness, most of you accepted because all that you wanted, all that *mattered* was that it continued. Not the horrible and blatent slap-in-the-face disrespect and disregard for the audience. He begged for forgiveness because *he* wanted to continue, and then, on a similar whim, decided he wanted back out.

I'm only here out of morbid curiousity now, happened to check in because something seemed wrong.

So now i have one question for you anons now that we're right back here again.

If MoG comes back, 'apologizes' (like before) and moves to continue the quest, would you continue to read it after this? And if this happens all over again, will you still read it then?
>>
>>2603129
1. Yes. 2. Depends.

With the caveat that I'd want to see MoG take some concrete action to prevent this. Having been in MoG's shoes life-wise, I'm quite forgiving.
>>
>>2603129
Alright so what are you still doing here, other than antagonize people who don't think the reasons are what you think they are as well as MoG?
>>
>>2603171
When you say 'concrete action', do you mean that you would want him to say that he'll take a break, clear his schedule and his head, and promise that he'll never do this again? That doesn't actually mean anything because stuff still comes up, and negativity will still come creeping back eventually.

In fact i think i saw an anon post something almost identical to your post last time. Here we are again.

All of my bitterness with flakes aside, there is nothing you can do to change the man behind the keyboard, they have to do that themselves. Any sort of promises that can be made at this point are shallow, because not only did a back-hand-across-the-face drop happen once, but now it's happened twice. Right after he begged us and promised and apologized.

And just out of curiosity when you say you've been in MoG's shoes, do you mean you run/dropped a quest? If so, I'm curious about which one, but if you feel uncomfortable answering that I'd settle for knowing whether you're an ex-QM or not. And if that's not the case at all, are you just talking about depression and stress or social anxiety? Because if that's the case, I feel your pain because I've been there, but there is a line and there are some things that shouldn't be excused. I've ran things before and I never flaked out, when things came up I sent some sort of message with an explanation, like someone with consideration for other people does.

MoG's *Actions* and nothing else prove that he doesn't care about us. This quest was/is for him, not us.
>>
>>2603184
Honestly? Yes, I'm angry. I'm very angry at MoG, and I think the fact that he doesn't communicate with us shows that he doesn't care about his playerbase. You. Me. Other anons.

Then the fact that it feels like he's getting what seems like quite a lot of compassion when I very strongly that he doesn't deserve it anymore. He *Just* did this before, he's doing it again after a great big meaningless apology.

I'm not here to just meaninglessly antagonize people, but rather to play the devils advocate as where most of the audience is saying "It's okay (even though you don't show us any consideration), do what's best for you." I'm raising the opposing view, and this is something that can be applied not just here, but is a question that will need to be asked as these situations arise with later quests and QM's and audiences.

When do you say "Enough is enough?"
>>
>>2603190
While those would be nice, there are a few actual concrete actions, like setting a specific time for games, running a finite number of games a week (we were moving at a pretty fast clip for a while), and calling games early if he was getting into the red zone, to be picked up at the next scheduled session.

Also while for practical purposes this case is the same as the last, the lack of rocks fall (or 'Bane breaks you'), and the message (here and on twitter) signaling to us what's going on was an improvement in my eyes.

And no, I'm not a QM, just someone who's grappled with (and currently manages) depression and anxiety. I'm also quite a bit older than MoG, so I have a lot of practice, and remember what I was like before that.

>>2603193
I think you ascribe intentionality ('doesn't care about his playerbase') based not on how he feels but on how you feel treated. My best guess is he feels crappy about trying again and failing again, and putting that on him doesn't help, even if your anger is perfectly understandable and valid.

I took your overall point from your first post. When do you say 'enough is enough?' Its going to vary from person to person of course, but for me, I haven't hit that point yet. Don't worry about me though, I'll see that point coming before it arrives, so I'll be fine.
>>
>>2602172
It's over. I'm sorry, I thought I had pulled myself together and could keep running, but clearly I overestimated myself. I am truly sorry for my behavior and for letting you all down. I'd love to say that I'll do better and we can keep going, but at this point it's obvious to everyone, including myself, that I can't keep that promise.

All of you that played, stuck with me through my bullshit, and found it in your hearts to give me a second chance, I am grateful. And I'm sorry that I failed that second chance you all gave me.

Stopping this quest has nothing to do with any of you guys, it's my own personal issues that I've clearly lost control of, and I'm just as aware as the rest of you that I have nobody to blame but myself. I truly enjoyed running this game for everyone, but I just can't do it.

Perhaps some day in the far future I'll try QMing again, but for now, it's time for me to have the basic self-awareness and basic decency toward those that give their time to quests on this board to admit that I need to stop.

Goodbye, and thank you all for everything.
>>
>>2606179
Thanks for the honesty lad.
Since we're through this, and if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to just ask if you had any future plans for the quests' development that you could share as a farewell note.

Finally, I hope you find a way to deal with your problems and end up with a better life after going through all that.
>>
>>2606240
Alright, soon enough, Blood and his allies were going to attack various Titans locations across the globe. The aim would be to divide the main team, and to capture as many heroes as possible, using their energy to fuel a portal to summon Trigon. Blood intended to bind Trigon and steal the demon's powers for himself.

Next arc, Red Panzer was going to cause trouble in Jump City under orders from Vandal Savage. It would ultimately come to light that Savage, R'as Al Ghul, Trident, and Gorilla Grodd had come together with the goal of decimating the population, then dividing the world among themselves.

Next arc, Blackfire has taken complete control of the Citadel, and the planets under its rule. She would wage war against several worlds, including Tamaran and Earth, which would lead the Titans into space, where they would meet up with the Omega Men, including Starfire's brother, who is known as Wildfire in this continuity.

Wasn't sure beyond that, maybe something with Darkseid or Brainiac.

Good on you for coming back and telling us something, giving us an apology, because of that you gained a bit of my respect back. Granted, you shouldn't have put us through the same thing twice, but at least you seem genuine in your apology, so I'll accept it.

Go in peace OP, sort your life out and I wish you luck.

Thanks, anons. If any of you have questions about anything related to the quest, feel free to ask, and I will answer to the best of my ability. Spoilers are kind of a moot point now.

I'd rather not, to hold out hope that one day, far from now, the game is revived.

Or a Garden Game is run with your blessing.

MoG, can you tell us about the whole process of running the Quest? I know that's a pretty open ended question, but I love that shit. Things that stood out that you liked, didn't like, would have changed, things that surprised you, ways you adapted to the audience, etc.
>>
>>2609672
Adaptation was a thing pretty much from the beginning thanks to write-ins. Write-ins essentially create an infinite number of possible routes and scenarios, which sometimes made adaptation tricky, but usually pretty fun.

I liked that you guys tried to add little details of residual personality traits from Sam, such as his competitive nature and love of prog rock.

At the moment, I can't really think of anything that stands out that I disliked
>>
Soooo
The way this was heading, raven was gonna win right?
>>
>>2609731
It looked that way, but who knows?
>>
>>2609732
Did you have a personal preference or leaning? Did you consider potential stories for any of them? Did any of them seem like they would be particularly hard to write for? Were there any other 11th hour candidates that might have joined the mix? And acknowledging the complexity, was Starfire ever an option you gave thought to?
>>
>>2609791
I briefly considered having Starfire be single, but considering how heavily I was taking from the show and the comics, I decided that didn't work.

I liked all three of the main candidates in different ways.

I wasn't sure about 11th hour candidates

I am sorry, anon
>>

Honestly I’m grateful for the archive up to what it was and the story. Don’t feel bad.

just give us a Donna femdom scene and it’s all good god please
>>
>>2610265
Anon, that's lewd!
>>
>>2610265
Lets be real, if it went the Donna route it would be KC and Donna constantly fighting to top. KC could even win once he develops his powers further.

Raven route would have been comparatively chill.
>>
I figured if we went raven, she'd feel guilty about being all solemn and demure with her boyfriend and she'd take him into her mind and have weird freaky fun with her color clones or something
>>
>>2610841
Eh....probably not, at least not for a long time
>>
>>2610851
>No massive orgy between Raven and Peter's mind clones
>>
>>2610863
Anon, please
>>
>>2610841
I think it'd be more quiet cuddling.
>>
>>2610963
At the begining sure but as soon as trigons dead she's gonna go wild and full throttle.

Like harley or something and she'll probably bring her color clones out of her mind and into real life for some fun with peter.
>>
>>2610993
Its hard to unlearn a lifetime of habits, but if Trigon was safely locked away or truly defeated, I could see her opening up, especially with some prompting.

She was more confident and cheerful when she was in a relationship with Malchior, so once she got over her gun-shyness, I think she could be that way again. As for her color clones, I think visiting Nevermore would make more sense for that, and I could see it being less about fun and more about Raven taking emotional risks by letting someone see the parts of her she works hard to keep under control, in hopes of acceptance.

Purple/Passion would be all over Peter though.
>>
>>2611001
Yeah, if they were dating, Raven would have to put passion in a cage if Peter ever visited Nevermore.
>>
>>2611050
[obligatory cage dancer joke here]

>peter chilling at the Tower
>The mood sours when Star sees her sister on the news fucking shit up
>Peter then decides he needs to spar with Donna or Star so he can prepare for a possible confrontation with Blackfire
>This is tricky since the idea is to train Peter for dealing with a flying brick without actually hurting him

>blackfire is very strong. Getting hit or grabbed could easily be fatal. So Peter decides to start off with simply trying to avoid contact with Donna.
>”Ok, Donna. I want you to touch me.
>Donna gives Peter a look and says something
>”Pretend you’re Blackfire and trying to hit me, but don’t actually hit me. I need to be able to see where I stand in a situation where it’s me vs. her”

>”Donna, hold me and don’t let go”
>”...”
>”I need to be able to get away from Blackfire in a fight.”
>Donna holds Peter and he tries to pry her arms open with his powers.
>He exhausts himself and tells her he gives up, but she doesn’t let go and says he has to figure out how to escape when he’s tired because it might happen in battle

This shit writes itself.

I have never written anything for anyone except school, but I’m seriously about to write this one

Passion will not be thwarted so easily!

shipping aside, Blood's ultimate plan was definitely one of the options I saw coming, and I really would have loved a crack at trying to talk him out of it. I mentioned it before, but the idea was to manipulate him emotionally, the core of the argument being his plan is doomed to failure, not because of any external factor, but because his narcissism and egomania blind him to possibilities and the limits of his power. Provide him with a few concrete examples like turning himself into a cyborg because he refused to consider that Cyborg might be able to resist his mental influence, or creating Peter because he could not simply reprogram Samuel. Then outline the proposition that the more confident he is in his plan, the more likely he overlooked something, and finally, give him a solution before he falls back right into that same pattern: Take a psychic scalpel to his own psyche and cut out that weakness.
>>
>>2611492
His ego would probably not allow for that
>>
>>2611538
Its a delicate needle to thread, but the way I see it is this: he's not impervious to reality or being rattled, but he does have to resolve the cognitive dissonance between reality and his ego, by giving him a ready path away from that dissonance he can be manipulated. Perhaps he might need a subtle push in the form of some subtle flattery as well.

I like the idea of Peter being someone who's good at getting into people's heads and manipulating them. It feels like a natural outgrowth of his talent for understanding how people feel and seeing things from many angles. Its maybe not even a talent he realizes he has (though Rose did point it out when we did the interrogation), and given that he has a Blood-like streak of deriving pleasure from feeling superior, its not something he's happy, per se. But it is a useful skill, and he's thus far used it for good.

If he went evil, yeah, that's a risk, and I think you laid the groundwork for it. He could potentially even be more dangerous if he remains grounded.

I even thought about the Teen Tyrants version of Peter, and figured he could just be King Crimson, dress like pic related, and basically be a young Brother Blood.

The Tyrants already have a red theme, so why not.

>Never getting to celebrate tamarin holidays with Starfire.
>Never having to deal with Rose both not understanding her feelings and simultaneously overcompensating for that.

I just wanted my ride or die chick.
>>
>>2612259
>>
>>2612259
Tamaranian Holidays would have been boss. Since Starfire was off the table for romance, I would have liked to see her and Peter's friendship develop. I think that she and Peter could be very genuine with each other.
>>
>>2612267
I really wanted her to wake Peter up for blorfast and him to be in even though he knows absolutely nothing about it. Like be so fucking ready that Robin gets a bit jealous with how in Peter is with no context.

>>2612264
>Rose massively overthinking by trying to read up on how relationships and intimacy is supposed to work.
>Tries to dom Peter because she read guys like that.
>Always goes right for lewd because she thinks that's the only thing that will keep him interested
>Pete completely wrecking her plans by talking her out to a nice dinner and giving her flowers not actual roses because it's too obvious
>Rose trying to outdo Pete's simple dates but he keeps sweeping her off her feet accidentally

I could go on.
>>
>>2612292
I like you, anon.
>>
>>2612292
I'm not in the Rose camp, but that's pretty sweet.

Also, Robin being a little jealous of Starfire and Peter's friendship amuses me.
>>
>>2612295
I like you MoG. I wasn't expecting you back so soon so I ended up missing both threads. I hope in a few months if you're sorted you'll give it another go. You had a special thing here that the other DC quests don't quite hit and I'll definitely miss it. I think you jumped in again way too early based on the amount of people who wanted more instead of jumping back in when you were actually ready. Either way I'm wishing you the best and I'll keep checking the Twitter now and again fir whenever you decide to make a comeback.

>>2612301
Same. I really loved the idea of Robin getting jealous even though Pete's absolutely no threat. Pete just rolls with the punches way better than Robin so him and Star get along great even though there's no interest beyond friendship.
>>
>>2612329
Thanks, anon, I appreciate that.
>>
>>2612329
I hope that TTQ will live again one day, but I don't want MoG to feel pressured. Agreed though, this was (and still is, even in its post-game form) pretty special. I hope to post that KC art soon.

Also, while Robin is a pretty cool dude, he definitely has some of Batman's emotional constipation and workaholic tendencies. Peter, despite being competitive, doesn't have those issues. Robin's jealousy would be double layered. The irrational knee jerk jealousy of a potential romantic competitor being present, and a more grounded jealousy of the apparent effortlessness of Peter and Starfire's relationship (which is itself only half true. While Pete and Star are pretty free with their emotions, actually expressing emotions can be grueling). Peter playing relationship councilor for both of them could be fun.

Also a small digression: Samuel seems to have been a workaholic, but given that the other team members seems to like or at least respect him despite him striving to outshine them, Sam probably had something of the friendliness and openness that Peter has.
>>
>>2612385
Yeah, Sam treated his team well.
>>
If I knew how discord worked, I'd be tempted to create a channel just so people from this quest could stay in touch.
>>
>>2612385
Character analysis anon is that you?

I agree about being MoG getting pressured to continue, I'm going through similar things with my usual dm irl, but at the same time we can really only take their word for when they're ready to continue even when they aren't. That's why I said I think he jumped in because he didn't want to let people down more than he was actually ready to continue, which isn't a way for a quest to be run.

Another anon asked when enough is enough regarding this. After MoG announced the first hiatus I was ready to wait quite awhile for him to continue. Personally I don't mind waiting if the content is quality (even if the DM is a bit standoffish with their players or just straight ghosts them Still waiting on Boruto quest Mini) because it isn't a hassle for me to check in occasionally.

Hell MGNQ just started back up after what a 4 year hiatus? I'm rambling but in short I hope to see MoG around even if it's not a TT quest because I love his writing. And if this is you analysis anon I hope another quest catches you're eye because I'll miss our discussions as well.
>>
>>2612430
Yes. Character analysis anon = chatty anon = excel sheet shipping chart anon = always be writing-in anon. I'm at a friend's house so my ID is different right now.

And you know what? I'll go figure out how to make a discord channel, just so we can chat from time to time. Getting into quests is hard for me because I need the perfect confluence of a premise I'm interested in (preexisting settings make this easier), I have to catch it early enough so I don't have to read a ton (this is why I haven't invested in DC quest, etc), and the writing has to be sufficiently compelling. I caught this quest on the third thread during Christmas vacation.

Just joined. Have you read worm at all? There's 2 quests going on right now that are pretty solid and not too far in.
>>
>>2612479
I have not. Can you give me a summary?
>>
>>2612485
Oof. Someone did the math and if worm was converted to novels out would have some 20 odd books. Great cape setting though the suffering gets a bit much. Powers options are awesome and it's fairly easy to pick up but the metal is so strong it would probably put most not familiar off.
>>
>>2612490
Yeah, seems like something that would require too much buy in for me at the moment.

Someone recently started a One Piece quest, and that piqued my interest, but the opening didn't really grab me.
>>
>>2612520
I've yet to have a one piece quest grab me. There's new mutant quest that only requires a passing knowledge of marvel properties. And it's one if the few quests where the mc is an unrepentant villain.
>>
>>2612573
Interesting. I'll check it out.
>>
Btw, thanks for promoting the Discord on twitter MoG. Hope to see you on it some time, but don't feel pressured to join either if you prefer some degree of distance.

Hey! KC art done.

It was done by a friend-of-a-friend Boombza, who can be found and commissioned here:

https://bds-mic.tumblr.com/

For this pic, I went with the casual costume idea that came up a few threads back. Since KC doesn't strike me as the type to do heroic poses, Boombza proposed chilling on a car and that led to the final composition. The irony of a green car having 'Crimson' on it is not lost on me. Way I figure it, he bought a junker with the intention to make a Chevy Crimson and used Cyborg's CAD machine to make a custom emblem for it.

Glad you liked it MoG.
