Sunny awakens to find herself laying in the corner of a room, looking down on it from a high vantage point. She is disoriented and requires guidance.

Sunny sits... up? and reaches towards the heavy weight on her face. The woman in the bed does much the same. Neither Sunny's goggles or the woman's goggles budge, but Sunny does feel a slight pain as she tugs.

>Who is Sunny and who is the woman? Are we within a VR world simulating the real world? Have an existential crisis.
Sunny panics. Her view of the room did not change as she shifted position, a strange woman mimics her every move, and a heavy device covers her face! The world around Sunny feels quite real, but her eyes seemingly refuse to cooperate. Why does this woman copy her? Is it a simulation? What is it supposed to be simulating?
>>
>>2595887
Oh so the woman in the bed is a shared body with Sunny. Sunny try to thing in walking just thinking or try to send the message of walking to the woman so she can scan the room were she is.

Sunny focuses on the "puppet woman" and stands up, yelling to her to ask if she sees Sunny. The puppet woman yells at Sunny to ask if she can see her... Sunny's feet touch the cold ground and her legs buckle. The puppet woman catches herself on the bed, but...

The file is in the puppet woman's hands! Sunny feels the smooth paper while asking if she can read it. The puppet woman parrots Sunny's question simultaneously into the file. Of course.

I feel the simplest explanation for this is that Sunny /is/ the woman, being fed a visual feed into her VR headset from a wall-mounted camera, and for some reason cannot remember this fact about herself.

Relishing the small victory before the trek towards her vantage point Sunny reflects on her life before waking up. Sunny remembers being very briefly in a great deal of pain and then a long period of darkness. Sunny also takes the chance to "examine" the puppet woman's helmet.
>>
>>2596040
New plan: (have the woman) search the room for something reflective that you can (get the woman to) use as a mirror to view your vantage point.

Sunny dear whatever you do don't tell the puppet woman to fiddle in the buttons along her metal mask okay? Also don't think on those things Sunny doesn't like to remember the pain right? Right. After all Sunny is a good girl, good girls don't need to feel pain anymore. Now take some rest and once you are ready move toward your vantage view point.

The front and top of the helmet are a completely smooth metal. On either side there is a small bump that seems to be able to turn. below each of those is a smaller bump that seems to be covered in holes. There seems to be NO WAY to remove the helmet. She prepares to crawl to the vantage point. Sitting in a corner thinking doesn't get you anywhere! Right?

Break one of the legs off of that chair and bludgeon the doctor with it when he comes back.
>>
>>2605129
Okay, time to sit and think.

Clearly you're expected to be here, up, and about. You're not entirely a prisoner, or else they likely wouldn't be treating you nicely enough. It seems like you're either a victim or a volunteer of some experiment. It might be worth considering actually mentioning that you've lost your memory. I get the feeling that he'd be more concerned than angry or dismissive.

So right now, keep to your own viewpoint, and wait for the blankets. even if you don't ask him, he's going to be back- and then he's going to leave again, remember. If you really want to escape, don't try and engage escape during a time where you KNOW he's going to be back soon.

My personal opinion, let's see if we can get any information out of him when he comes back. A simple 'Remind me what's happening tomorrow'? should suffice. Remember, he doesn't know you don't remember much, so he should be pretty forthcoming if he doesn't think you shouldn't already know.
>>
>>2605129
the doctor seems pretty nice. Maybe just ask him what you're doing here?
>>
>Maybe just ask him what you're doing here?
Soon enough the man returns with blankets and Sunny asks just where she is and why she can't remember anything. The man explains the memory loss away as a potential side-effect of "machine integration" and that it's nothing a good hypno-therapy session can't fix. As for where they are he says they are in the east wing of the Irving Brown Institute of Body and Mind, a hospital/research center that uses experimental treatments and technologies to expand beyond the limits of body and mind. All treatments and procedures are, of course, voluntary.

>>

that's interesting. Morbid, but interesting. I've little doubt that any attempt at going out there will quickly lead to 'go back inside' and have people watch your door. May be best to keep this perspective for a bit and see if you can glean any info.

You know now you have to escape. Part of that will be gaining intelligence, and someone's room getting burned up is bound to yield SOME kind of information.

When she is close to the door she suddenly is able to see a new room! Everything in the room seems to have been burned. On the bed and on the floor there are two bodies, the one on the bed is burned completely black, while the body on the floor is only burned on the front.
>>
>>2610323
Hmmm. So that might be the key. when you approach an area with a camera, you have access to that camera. Gotta keep that info in your pocket. As for what we can see here...what's that line on the front of the person on the floor? A scar? Or the zipper of a suit?

Is there any source of smoke that might indicate the fire's source?
>>
>>2610323
...Hmm. As much as I'd like to suggest something ridiculous, it's probably a better idea to get on the floor immediately and cover yourself with as much stuff as you can get your hands on. It seems very likely that these rooms have built-in incinerators!
>>

and see if it leads to this room [SHLTR023]
Sunny goes to try and yank the vent from the wall, but she finds herself unable to so much as get a good grip on it. The man asks what the hell she thinks she's doing. They're waiting for maintenance, not giving them more work.

Sunny begins searching her bag for the hand mirror. Her armed companion suggests that maybe he should have just shot her before she got on the elevator.

Looks like I should probably call it for the night, drifting in and out of consciousness is no way to run a quest. Thanks and see you later!

Sunny stands up and cautiously moves farther into the room, relying on the creature for sight. The room is completely empty, save for a door to the right.
This is probably going to be the last session this thread. I'll probably be back after the weekend with more prep and less being tired.

Is the creature acting aggressively towards Sunny? If it isn't then maybe we can get it to follow her through the door.

As it draws nearer the creature begins to raise its claw and screech. Sunny doesn't think it's entirely friendly.

Sunny decides it's time to bust through the second door as the creature attempts to rake its claw through her torso. She lands painfully, but safely on the other side of the door.

Sunny is in view of the [RD013] camera! Before she can get back up, someone tells her to stay down.

Stay down, but crawl forward as quickly as possible.
