/qst/ - Quests

Nine years ago, the warrior race known as the Saiyans were annexed into Emperor Freeza’s army. Since that fateful day, the Saiyans have earned the title of warrior race as Freeza’s soldiers, leading the charge onto hundreds of worlds and facing down all who oppose Lord Freeza’s rule. As mighty conquerors crushing all resistance, the Saiyans have earned their reputation as Freeza’s most powerful subjects.

The larger than life tales of the Super Saiyans, especially, have spread to every corner of the civilized universe. Epics of the golden warrior or warriors facing down demons, wizards, assassins, armies, champions, and even surviving one on one with Freeza himself are told universe-wide. The mere mention of Super Saiyans inspires awe, admiration, jealousy, or fear, depending on who you ask. This has now lead to the Covenant assembling a mighty army, set to march forward and exterminate the Saiyans once and for all in less than a year and a half’s time. Fewer than two dozen Saiyans are currently aware of the impending attack, and your actions from this point forward could either save the Saiyan race, or doom them all.

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest, currently Age 740. You the players control Karn, a Saiyan Berserker with a base powerlevel of 635,267, a general in Lord Freeza’s army, mate to Meloka, father of Chaya, Chilli and Broly(adoptive), and an inspiration to both the other Saiyans and the rest of the PTO. Your current team is:

Meloka-Blaster, 413,724
Leyas-Brawler, 172,004
Sarada-Brawler, 181,337
Nappa-Juggernaut, 291,323
Tunnip-Berserker, 223,847

Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

Princess Komand’r of Tamaran, ruler of Planet Azar, contacted you to ask for help. With Freeza’s approval you’d agreed to a truce, then dove straight into four months of hard training to prepare for the coming battle. You’d focused on both maintaining your Ascended Super Saiyan form beyond your previous limits, as well as pushing your base form higher in the maxed out Gravity Chamber. Once your training is finished, you and Meloka took Leyas, Sarada, Nappa, and Tunnip with you via Raven’s magic to Planet Azar. Once there the six of you dove into battle, splitting into two groups to better handle the invasion. You, Leyas, and Sarada together managed to already destroy 6 Covenant warships, before the booming voice calls calls out that the Arbiter will soon arrive and join the battle. As we rejoin Karn, everyone is silent after the voice’s announcement.

“FINAL FLASH!!” Meloka roars out into that silence, firing a massive golden beam skyward. You all turn and watch the colossal attack blast straight through two Covenant warships, soaring up into the void of space. Her attack galvanizes the Tamaraneans and the Covenant, battle reigniting all around you. You see Leyas and Sarada dashing towards you, burning wreckage of a Covenant warship exploding behind them.

“Hell yeah, this is more like it!!” Sarada shouts, spinning through the air and laughing. “This is great! Hey Karn, what’s this ‘Arbiter’?”
“He’s their ace.” you say, crossing your arms. “He’s strong. I’m not sure if he or Lord Freeza himself is stronger.”
“Wait, what?!” Leyas shouts. “Lord Freeza? Really?!”
“Yeah...” you say worriedly. “Even everyone here together may not be able to take him down. But for now-“

Well?
>Let’s just focus on destroying the Covenant fleet already here for now
>We’ll regroup with everyone and fight together, saving our strength
>You two regroup with the others, I’m going alone for a bit
>You two go regroup with the others, I’m going all-out for a bit(Ascend and attack)
>You two regroup with the others, I have to warn Komand’r we all can’t win against him

“-let’s regroup with the others. I have a plan, and I think you’ll both like it.”
“Alright, let’s go already.” Sarada says impatiently, the three of you blasting off towards Meloka, Tunnip and Nappa. The three of you quickly make your way over to the other Saiyans, blasting away any Covenant fighters who try to intercept you. Blasting your way through, you come to a stop beside Meloka, firing a Death Beam through a fighter coming up behind her as she blasts away several others overhead.

“Is there a problem?” she asks, the two of you going back-to-back to cover each other, as the other four Saiyans close in as well.
“Alright, here’s the plan.” you say, the six of you closing ranks. “Meloka, Tunnip, let’s get some Power Balls in the air. We’ll give these bastards a real fight!”
“Hell yeah, let’s do this!” Tunnip shouts, already forming the ball in her hand. With a shout both women fire the orbs into the air, you leaping up to them as they clench their fists and shout in unison:

“BURST OPEN AND MIX!!”

Meloka then flies up to you as well, careful to avoid looking at the Power Balls herself. You feel Nappa, Tunnip, Leyas, and Sarada’s powers all increasing tenfold, roaring out as their transformations complete. The Covenant forces immediately take notice, severals wings of fighters turning to the four Oozaru as even more turn their attention to the two spheres you and Meloka are protecting. The four Oozaru roar out in challenge, splitting up and taking the fight to the Covenant. Leyas and Sarada each leap towards a different Covenant warship, slamming their massive fists through the crafts’ armors with ease. Tunnip draws a massive Energy Blade, leaping into the fighters and carving a path of devastation while Nappa fires a massive wave of ki from his mouth, obliterating a score of the smaller crafts.

But you cannot focus on them, as more of the Covenant attack vehicles approach the two of you, trying to shoot down the Power Balls. Defending them is easy, you activating your Barrier as they fire, then when they break off to circle around again you and Meloka easily blast them from the sky. This goes on for some time, until you feel it. Hundreds of thousands of powerlevels suddenly appear above Planet Azar. It seems reinforcements have arrived. Focusing for a moment, you try to find the Arbiter’s ki, but his overwhelming presence is nowhere to be found yet. Before you can act on this, however, you see that three of the Covenant warships are gathering directly overhead, preparing to fire their massive laser attack down at you both.

What will you do?

“Meloka, above us!” you shout, reactivating your Barrier as another wave of fighters flies in guns blazing. You focus on keeping their attacks from penetrating your shield, Meloka throwing her arms out and gathering her ki. You feel her power rising, she’s putting a lot of power into this. But you have to focus, the two wings of fighters alternating their attacks and forcing you to keep the Barrier up continuously. The drain on your power is minuscule, having trained as hard as you have on mastering your Ascended power. But you can still feel your ki reserves decreasing ever so slightly. “Whatever you’re gonna do, do it quick!”

“I’m working on it!” Meloka shouts back over the sounds of battle, slightly irritated. Before she can act, however, you see Leyas and Sarada’s massive Oozaru forms leap up, each slamming their fists into and grabbing one of the Covenant warships each, and with a massive roar swing the two vessels into each other. They slam into each other with a massive crash, exploding into a massive fireball above your heads and throwing shrapnel everywhere. Your Barrier isn’t as effective at stopping physical projectiles, several scraps of the ship penetrating the shield. You shield your face from the flying metal, Meloka leaping up and out of your shield to fire her attack at the final remaining ship.

“FINAL FLASH!!” she roars again, golden beam blasting up from her palms. The Covenant warship fires its massive blast as well, the two energy attacks slamming into each other halfway between them, sending out a massive shockwave that blows away dozens of nearby fighters, Meloka struggling against the massive ship’s weapon. With a shout she pushes even harder, pushing her attack closer to the Covenant warship. With a final roar her attack triumphs, the Covenant’s laser disappearing as Meloka’s Final Flash closes the distance immediately and blasts straight through the warship, several internal explosions rocking it as her beam pierces through it, blasting through the warship before slamming into a second and causing it to explode as well, her golden beam ending there. Meloka drops back inside your shield, panting a bit from the strain of firing two big attacks in a row. You watch as two dozen or so of the large Covenant warships all start dropping towards the planet, doubtlessly intending to brgin deploying troops on the planet’s surface as another dozen begin charging their big weapons, preparing to fire at seemingly the planet itself.

What now?

“Meloka, guard these, I’ve gotta stop them before they fire!!” you shout, dropping your Barrier and blasting up into the air.
“Karn, wait!” Melola shouts, but you’re already gone, too focused on stopping those ships from firing down on the planet. You charge through dozens of the smaller fighters, tearing through them as if they’re not even there. You rush headlong to the nearest Covenant warship preparing to fire, ready to unleash mayhem. You dodge its laser weapons’ fire, weaving through the blasts until you close to grips, driving your fist through the hull. The momentum and force of your strike sends you into the ship, you gathering your ki into both hands and firing a Scattershot from each. Your blasts shred the Covenant ship from the inside, you blasting your way straight through until you reach what seem to be the engines. With a roar you fire off a Super Explosive Wave, detonating the engines and blasting the entire Covenant ship to smithereens. It explodes around you, flaming pieces dropping to the planet below. With one ship down, you turn to the others, prepared to continue the battle.

You quickly realize you can’t destroy them all before they fire, so you have to prioritize. Focusing the cluster of ships almost directly above Meloka, you blast off towards them, feeling the pressure from the rapidly dwindling time before they fire. Again you weave through the Covenant warships’ laserfire as you charge, reaching the nearest one within seconds. You drive your fists into the ship’s nose, and with a roar you twist, pulling with all your might and slamming the ship broadside into the second one. With a massive crunch the ships slam into each other, metal warping and crumbling under the tremendous impact. Several explosions rock the now forcefully merged ships, you taking a few precious seconds gathering a Super Energy Bomb overhead, and with a shout you toss it. Your blast slams into the two damaged ships, both of their shields having already failed. Your bomb hits them where they were forcefully melded, the massive bomb exploding and blasting both ships to pieces. You turn to the third ship, ready to finish it as well, but you realize its too late. The remaining Covenant ships all fire down at the planet at once. Oh no, Meloka!

You react without thinking, exploding angrily towards that third ship. You shrug off several blasts, diving straight to the ship and slamming your fists into the ship’s nose. You roar and twist the ship laterally, its beam moving across the planet and then up into the air, it cutting straight through several Covenant warships. With it upside down, you flip under it and kick off back toward where you’d left Meloka, not seeing her or the Power Balls. You feel panic rising in your chest, where is she?!

“Calm down Karn, panicking won’t help her. Focus, focus.” you think to yourself, reactivating your Barrier and closing your eyes. Finding a single powerlevel among millions is difficult, shutting out more and more until you find hers. There!” Opening your eyes, you can sense her power dead ahead of you. In the massive scorched crater the Covenant weapon left, you seeing where it’d hit as well as the path of devastation it carved when you’d rolled the ship. You waste no more time, deactivating your barrier and blasting through the air to the crater. You land with a crash, sliding the last tenish feet to a stop before where you can sense Meloka’s power, just below the surface. You shove your hand into the scorched earth, grabbing onto something solid and pulling. As you pull her out you can see you’d grabbed Meloka’s left leg: she’s alive! And as soon as you pull her free from the ground she draws her Energy Blade and thrusts it right at your stomach.

“DIE!!”
“SHIT!!” you shout, panicked, dropping her and twisting to avoid her blade. “Meloka its me!”
“Karn?” she asks confused, only then recognizing you and deactivating her blade. “OhmygodI’msorryIdidn’tmean-!”

You cut off her rambling, panicked apology, pulling her into your embrace. For a few moments you’d feared the worst, but you should have known she was tougher. As you pull back to see what shape she’s in, you hear Oozaru Tunnip shout “Burst open and mix!” in the distance. If she figured out how to create a Power Ball as an Oozaru, that would certainly be useful. But your attention is on Meloka, making sure she’s okay. From the damage, she took the brunt of the attack on her upper left side, armor and clothes down to her bellybutton on that side as well as her scouter were completely blasted away. She’s scorched and bruised, but as she rolls her left shoulder you can clearly see she’s not nearly done yet.

“That hurt.” she says, flaring her golden aura back up around herself. “They’ll pay for that one.”
“LOOK OUT!!” you shout, tackling her back and away from the two rapidly approaching powerlevels. They both slam into the ground where the two of you were, kicking up a dust cloud. You and Meloka spring back to your feet and flare your golden auras, revealing your attackers. Two of the heavily armed and armored worm colony-like creatures rise up, having slammed shield-first into the ground to crush you both. They level their cannons at you, the barrels beginning to glow green as they start charging.

“You’ll do.” Meloka says, popping her knuckles and glaring angrily at the beasts. They both roar in their odd way, you and Meloka dropping into your stances.

You and Meloka each take one of the creatures, your Meloka exploding off the ground with a furious shout and kicking the beast square in it’s shield and sending it flying. The other focuses on you, bracing and readying its weapon to fire. As you stare down the Hunter, you realize a few things. One, you already know how to beat one of these things. And two, you’re much stronger than you were before, you’re stronger than this creature. When you’d faced one of these odd combined creatures before, your Super Saiyan power wasn’t even 10million. Now, however, your strength far surpasses this beast. It roars in its odd way again, weapon about to fire, but you’re ready. With a smug grin you lift a finger, firing a Death Beam down the barrel of the Hunter’s arm cannon. Before it can react, its cannon and entire arm explodes. It roars out in agony, dropping to a knee and clutching it’s stump. You waste no time, opening your hand and obliterating the creature with a quick Energy Wave. You look down at the smoking heap of the Hunter’s armor then your hand. You remember how powerful those creatures were when they’d attacked New Salda, yet now you’re strong enough to casually blast one away. Before you can get too lost in your thoughts the other one roars, its power doubling instantly. Your attention snaps to the creature, just in time to see Meloka attack.

“Oh no you don’t!!” she roars as the beast ignores her and rushes you, drawing her Energy Blade and rushing after it. Before it closes half the distance Meloka catches it, slamming her left foot into its head and sending it flying aside and crashing into the crater wall. She spins and lands on her feet, then begins swinging her blade several times. Blades shoot out from hers, the long spikes of energy slamming into the Hunter’s armor. It roars in pain with every hit, Meloka impaling it over a dozen times. She finishes with a flourish, the Blades inside the creature glowing brighter for a second then exploding. The blast is incredibly bright, you shielding your eyes as Meloka extinguishes her Energy Blade. Once the blast ends you see she completely destroyed the creature, only the armor left behind. You turn to Meloka to congratulate her, but before you can celebrate your victory you feel it. He’s here.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=tNW9lmujZxU

You feel a massive ki suddenly appear in the space far above Planet Azar along with millions of others, you recognizing that massive power instantly. The Arbiter has come!

What was the Arbiter's powerlevel again? I don't recall seeing it, my bad.

as high or higher than freeza's final form

No exact power-level, but Karn has said that he doesn't know if even Frieza could beat this guy.
We might be able to match his powerlevel if we go berserk, but against a seasoned opponent of comparable strength we'd probably end up getting killed anyways.

Hm, could we fight the Arbiter? He said that he wasn't sure if even Freeza could defeat this guy, but we've never actually seen him use 100%, other then when we went Berserk right? If he was comparing him to Freeza's final form at 50% then we're about comparable, now, in terms of power level at least, and we've probably got a wider variety of techniques then he does, at this point.

“Leyas, Sarada, Tunnip, Nappa, get over here, now.” you think to your fellow Saiyans, feeling their massive energies immediately begin closing in on you and Meloka. You then switch your attention and focus on Komand’r. “Princess Komand’r, can you hear me?”
“Karn, do you feel that?” she replies. “What the hell is that? Is that this Arbiter that asshole was going on about?”
“Yeah, that’s him.” you reply. “We’re taking his ship out while its still out in space, then we’re getting the hell out of here. I’d suggest you do the same, evacuate your people while you have the chance.”
“Run away?!” she thinks back indignantly. “You’d have us abandon our world?”
“We can’t beat him yet.” you reply simply, the other Saiyans gathering around you. “We’re gonna try and buy as much time as we can, but we’re not dying here for you. I’m not sure if even Freeza himself is strong enough to beat this guy. If you want to stay and die that’s your choice, but I’m gonna live and get strong enough to kill him myself.”

“Wait what?” she asks, but your allies have all gathered. With that you cut the link with Komand’r, focusing on the task at hand.

“Alright, everyone, listen up.” you shout up to the Oozaru, then Ascending in a burst of sparks. “The Arbiter’s here, so its time for us to go. But before we leave, let’s leave him a little present. They can’t breathe in space, so we’re gonna fuck his ship up before we go!”

https://youtube.com/watch?v=5s9xI_D7qhU

“Now, together! HAAAAAAAA!!” you roar, your Oozaru allies and Meloka roaring out as well. You toss your arms wide as you begin gathering your power, your allies gathering theirs as well. Meloka’s body rapidly expands, powering up to her Ultra form and throwing her arms wide as well, floating over and putting her back to your chest. You feel the other Saiyans’ powers rise as well, everyone gathering their power for one massive, joint attack. Leyas, Sarada, and Nappa all prepare to fire massive Mouth Blasts, Tunnip preparing an Oozaru-sized Final Shine Attack, and you and Meloka preparing your Couple Final Flash. Your combined strength shakes the world, ground crumbling beneath you all as you prepare to fire. “Everyone ready? NOW!!”

“ROOOAAAAAAR!!!” Leyas, Sarada, and Nappa roar as they fire their mouth beams.
“FINAL SHINE ATTACK!!” Tunnip roars, firing her massive green blast. But its nothing compared to-
“FINAL FLASH!!!!” you and Meloka roar out in perfect sync, an absolutely monsterous beam of golden energy blasting from your four joined palms. The five energy attacks combine and form into one massive beam, blasting up through several Covenant warships and out into the void of space. Your attack doesn’t stop there, it travels uninterrupted as you steering it directly at your target: the Arbiter.

>"Do you feel something rumbling? Wait... we're in space..." -The Arbiter

You pour every ounce of effort into steering this massive attack, your focus locked onto the Arbiter’s ki. You feel the attack closing in, closer and closer, the Arbiter’s ki signature barely moving. You’ve got him now!

“Taaaaake THIS!!” you roar, pouring even more power into your attack. Everyone else follows your lead, unleashing even more power. You can feel the attack slamming right into the Arbiter’s ki, direct hit! You continue pouring your power out, blasting the Arbiter for several seconds before you let the attack fade, everyone else following. Tunnip also deactivates her Power Ball, the four of them returning to normal. While they do that you take the moment to contact Raven.

“Raven, can you hear me?” you think to her, the young witch responding immediately.
“Karn? What’s wrong?” she asks. “Is everyone-?”
“We’re fine.” you cut her off before she can worry any more. “But the Arbiter’s here, so we’re getting the hell out of here. We’re preparing to head back now, get ready to open the portal back to New Salda.”
“Understood.” she replies. “I’ll be waiting.”

With that you both end the communication, you turning to the other Saiyans.

“Alright, let’s get the hell out of here while we still-“ you’d said, something suddenly impacts the ground between the six of you. It hits with tremendous power, blasting all of you back. You cough on the kicked up dust as you rise to your feet. You look around, the nearby area now on fire. Before you can call out to see if everyone’s alright, however, you sense what had hit the ground between the six of you. You can’t move, instincts warning you that you’re in extreme danger.

“Trying to kill me in the void of space?” the Arbiter says, rising up to his feet. “Clever, monkies. But you’ll never stop me like that.”

Shit, he’s here! What now?

“General Nappa, take the other Saiyans and go.” you say, rising fully to your feet, not taking your attention off of the Arbiter. “Get back to the portal, Raven should already have it open. I’ll hold him here.”
“But-!” Nappa starts, you flaring your golden sparking aura and shouting at him.
“Move Nappa!!” you shout, taking a step towards the Arbiter. “You guys can’t help here, you’d only get in my way!”
“Yo-You’d better not fucking lose!” Sarada shouts, the first one to take off back towards the palace. Leyas and Tunnip follow her immediately, Nappa waiting a moment longer, as if he has something to say, but then turns and leaves as well, leaving you and Meloka alone with the Arbiter.

“Meloka-“ you start, before she interrupts you.
“No way.” she says, turning to look at you with a smile. “There’s no way I’m leaving you now. We have to make it back to New Salda. Together.”
“I was gonna say, we’ll take him. Together.” you say, Meloka’s eyes widening in surprise, tears forming in the corners of her eyes.
“Yeah!” she says, recovering quickly and clenching her teeth in a wolfish smile, you both turning to the Arbiter and flaring your auras as you gather your ki, then in sync: “We’ll show you what we can do!”
“Very well.” the Arbiter says, drawing a Covenant Energy Blade in either hand, the swords humming audibly. “Bring it!”

“Haaa!!” you shout, bringing your Super Energy Blade up in front of you with both hands. Meloka creates her Energy Blades in either hand, mimicking the Arbiter. He simply narrows his eyes, not moving otherwise. You nod to Meloka, her nodding back in understanding. Its time to put your training to the test!

https://youtube.com/watch?v=MhQbJc1euxg

“HAAAAAAAAAAA!!”
“RRRAAAAAAAA!!”

You and Meloka roar simultaneously, blasting off the ground at the Arbiter. He crouches slightly and pulls his blades into a defensive stance, ready to intercept you both. You open with a powerful stab, square to the gut which he deflects with one hand. Meanwhile Meloka’d flipped over the Arbiter, twisting and aiming to decapitate him with a single strike. As he’d deflected your strike he brought his other blade up behind his head, blocking Meloka’s strike as well. You twist as Meloka backflips, each landing on your feet and attacking the Arbiter from either side. You and Meloka both flip and twist around the Arbiter, attacking him from two sides at once. Your crashing, heavy strikes and Meloka’s rapid-fire attacks keep the Arbiter on the defensive, but neither you or Meloka can score so much as a scratch on his armor. You need more.

In a stroke of inspiration you swing at the Arbiter with a mighty, and very telegraphed, overhead chop. The Covenant ace deflects your strike to the side as he turns and blocks a quick slice then thrust from Meloka’s blades, focusing entirely on her for a split second. Just as you need. In that moment his eyes are off of you, you charge your Eye Beams and fire them directly at the side of his head. He reacts at the last possible instant, twisting and leaning back to avoid the narrow beams. He’s too slow to avoid it completely, one of your beams barely catching him along his right eye. He roars in pain and outrage, twisting and swinging his blades at you. You block his first strike and leap back, Meloka rushing his exposed back and thrusting for his spine, The Arbiter twists as Meloka closes in, her blades only scoring a pair of cuts across his side instead of a paralyzing strike. You fire your Eye Beams again as he turns, both shots hitting him in his right shoulder. His armor takes most of the damage, but your attack allows Meloka to pull back uninjured. You’re doing it, you’re actually doing it! Working together, you can beat this guy!

With another shout you and Meloka rush the Arbiter, blades flashing as the three of you fight for your lives. His movements are faster now, forcing you and Meloka to defend yourselves as well as attack. You both keep up the movements of the Su Ma, flipping and twisting past the Arbiter’s attacks. You know either one of you would have been quickly beaten and killed, but with the two of you working together you can keep him at bay. Every time he takes his attention off of you, you fire another pair of Eye Beams at him, determined to cause more damage. And after seeing how effective the attack is, Meloka began copying it as well. The Arbiter is unable to counter so many attacks from different angles, each of you scoring several painful, but not very threatening-seeming, wounds on the Arbiter. You can feel his frustration mounting, unable to pin either of you down long enough for a solid hit. You and Meloka keep weaving around him, the Arbiter blocking every single strike of your blades, but the two of you score dozens of hits with your Eye Beams. Finally the Arbiter roars out in frustration, firing an Explosive Wave from himself and knocking you both back. You deactivate your blade as you land, not wanting to slice yourself, but the Arbiter leaps right at you to deliver a lethal strike.

“Now you die!” he shouts, both blades prepared to impale you.
“I don’t think so!” Princess Komand’r roars out, catching him completely by surprise with a kick to the side of his head. Her attack sends the Arbiter flying, crashing to the ground dozens of feet away. He lands hard but rolls right back to his feet, blades held defensively before him as he takes in his third opponent.

“So you wish to die as well.” the Arbiter says, leaping back to keep all three of you in his sight.
“You aren’t very good at running away, you know that?” Komand’r asks you, turning to you to offer a hand up. But as she turns, the Arbiter moves as well, closing the distance near-instantly and burying his left Energy Blade in her stomach. She gasps in surprise, you looking on in shock as he tears his blade free and kicks her away.

“And now for you.” he says, turning and lifting his blade to thrust straight into your chest.

You react instantly, knowing how much damage one of those blades can do. With your right hand you fire a Death Beam at his elbow, while you lock eyes with the Arbiter and fire your Eye Beams. He brings his other Energy Blade up to block his face, simply tabling the blast to his elbow. Your attack doesn’t pierce through his arm, it doesn’t even slow his blade down. You feel the unmistakable agony as his blade pierces your chest, clenching your teeth to avoid crying out.

“KARN! NOOO!!” you hear Meloka shout, but you can’t look away, fighting for your life. You keep up with your Eye Beams, changing their direction since he’s blocking them. You redirect them up, then down on top of his head but he’s ready, again putting his other blade between himself and your attack. You try once more, aiming for the side of hus head but it’s futile, the Arbiter again blocking your attack. He then twists and jerks free his blade inside you, you crying out as blood sprays from your chest.

“Saiyan Karn.” the Arbiter says to you, your vision starting to fade away. “I will remember you, warrior.”
“Get! Away from him! You! Bastard!!” Meloka shouts, voice breaking. Your head falls limply to the side, you seeing a very angry Meloka. Her aura is flaring wildly around her, tears pouring from her eyes. Laying there, you easily feel the ground shaking as her power skyrockets. You watch with a pained smile as Meloka’s hair spikes up even moreso than usual, lighting breaking out around her body as the ground crumbles beneath her. You can’t help but feel pride as your beautiful Meloka finally Ascends. She’s done it. She then draws her Energy Blade, it overflowing with ki. “I’LL KIIILL YOOOU!!”

She explodes off the ground, blasting straight for the Arbiter. He brings his blades up in an ‘x’, blocking her attack. But he’d clearly underestimated her power, getting thrown from his feet. He flips once and lands, Meloka already on top of him. He adjusts to her strength quickly, defending himself from her attacks and counterattacking. She takes several rapid shallow cuts to her chest and arms then backflips, swinging her blade wildly. In seconds she’s fired several dozen of the smaller blade projectiles, the Arbiter using both of his blades to cut them down before they can hit him. The deflected blades all stick into the ground around his feet, Meloka flourishing her blade. The Arbiter looks around, noticing the blades around him for the first time.

“DIE!!” she shouts, the blades glowing bright then exploding all around the Arbiter. She then blitzes to you, helping you up to your feet. “Karn, are you okay?”

“I, I can still- wait what’s that?” you ask, seeing something overhead. It looks like a large bird, but you can’t sense any energy from it. It lands between you and the Arbiter, his shield deactivating as the smoke clears. He sees the bird and remains where he is, unsure of what it is. You watch as the pitch-black creature’s form shifts, wings folding in on itself to reveal the form of a young girl in an oversized blue hooded cloak.

“Raven!” Meloka shouts out, not surprised in the least. “You made it!”
“I’m sorry I’m late, I had to get everyone ready.” she says, then focuses entirely on the Arbiter. “You will pay for what you have done here.”
“A witch? You’d dare use dark magics on me?!” the Arbiter shouts indignantly. He begins glowing golden in his outrage, you feeling him unleashing his full power. “I will not let this heresy stand!“
“Azarath Metrion Zinthos!!” Raven shouts, a wave of dark energy blasting straight at the Arbiter. He again activates his bubble-like shield. But whatever Raven’s power is, it ignores the shield completely, slamming into the Arbiter and blasting him away. He breaks free of the wave of dark power, then rushes headlong at Raven. She seems unworried, and with several gestures creates a solid sphere of darkness with the Arbiter trapped inside in midair. She then turns to you and Meloka, getting under one of your arms as Meloka gets under the other. “We have to move, that won’t hold him for long.”

“Fools! Heretics! You shall pay for your sins!” the Arbiter shouts, his fist slamming into and through Raven’s magical prison. His hands grab the opening he’d made, and with incredible power tears the sphere apart. Raven holds out a hand and creates another portal, the three of you stepping through. She turns to close it, you stopping her.

“Wait, we have to get Komand’r, she’s injured!” you shout, Meloka immediately dashing back out of the portal. The Arbiter rushes towards her, Meloka tossing an Energy Bomb into the ground and kicking up a cloud of smoke. It drifts into this side of the portal as well, you coughing on it as it tries to finish you off. Meloka blasts back inside the portal, Komand’r slung over her shoulders, Raven releasing her hold on the portal.

“I’m coming for you, Karn!” you hear the Arbiter calling out, voice getting fainter as the portal shrinks to nothing. “Next time there will be no-“

Then its over. Looking around you see that you’re in your ship’s Medical Bay. Convenient, you think to yourself as your vision fades out completely, you relaxing now that you’re safe. You let the gentle darkness take you, sighing out and dropping down to your base form before floating away into the void.

Well, that went pretty alright. I mean we got stabbed, but that’s kind of a matter of course, so no biggie. Got a nice Zenkai boost, so that’s pretty good to. We got a look at the Arbiter as well, and we’re able to assess his combat strength. He’s strong, but thankfully not overwhelmingly so. With better luck, we could probably take him, all things considered, especially if we get plenty of training in before our next encounter.
>>
>>2618733
Aw shit, son. I hadn’t even noticed when our Ascension got past 50% of Frieza’s max form!

Guess this means we better make sure our boy Freezypop gets the training of his life, so that he can stay on top.

Also, what we think the odds of using SSG when they come for New Salda being? After this display, I imagine it’ll be real high.

You’re unsure how long you spend floating alone in the endless void. Time has no meaning in a place like that. But you do feel quite relaxed, until you feel something’s off. Suddenly you see someone before you that you haven’t talked to in awhile.
“Hello, Towa.”

“Karn. I must say I’m quite impressed.” she says with a little smirk. “I’d expected the Arbiter’s power to overwhelm you much faster.”
“Well I did have a lot of help.” you say, wondering why she’s here. Sure you nearly died again, but she doesn’t seem to be here to criticize you. What does she want? “So how’s things on your end? How’s Chaya been doing?”
“Everything is fine, and my Mira and your other timeline daughter’s strength both grow by the day.” she says. “Your daughter has unlocked an ancient, near-forgotten power of the Saiyans as well. Which is partially why I’m here, she wants you there when she has her ‘big rematch’ with that Time Patroller boy.”
“Wait, Trunks?” you ask confused.
“Of course not Trunks.” Towa says with a small chuckle, taking it as a joke. “That warrior she fought before, Ace. The one she defeated on your last mission for me.”
“Oh, him, right.” you say, not recalling this warrior at all. “And tell her that of course I’ll be there. Just send someone to pick me up.”
“I knew you’d agree.” she says, then turns serious as the darkness around you begins cracking, light pouring in. “Already? Dammit. Karn, whatever you do, when the Covenant come don’t let Vegeta unleash the Super Sai-!“

You awaken with a start, the familiar scene of the inside of the Healing Pod a welcoming sight. You sigh out, pondering what Towa’d tried to say as the fluid drains. The door opens up and you step out, feeling somewhat stronger. Looking around, you see Meloka in a new set of gear had been talking with a half-dressed Komand’r, the Tamaranean turned to you midway through pulling her top on. From her hair you can tell she hasn’t been out of the Healing Pod long herself. Instead of pulling it on however she tosses it aside, walking up to you with a little unnecessary bounce in each step.

“Meloka told me you ordered her to save me.” she says, you keeping your gaze on her eyes as she walks closer and closer. She gets really close to you then bows, her head almost touching your bellybutton. She remains there a moment then rises, cheeks slightly red. “Thank you. But... why? Why did you do it?”

“Because we’re allies, remember?” you say, Komand’r tilting her head and looking at you confused. “We haven’t beaten the Covenant yet. Besides, you were helpless; he would have easily killed you had we left you there.”
“Well, I guess...” she says as you walk over and pick up her discarded top, bringing it over and handing it back to her.
“Besides, you saved me from him first. This makes us even.” you say as she takes back her top, looking curiously at it, then to you.
“Even, huh?” she asks, smiling with her hands on her hips
“Yeah, we’re even.” you say. “But now you have a different score to settle.”
“You’re damn right!” she shouts. “Those Covenant bastards will pay for what they did!”
“But with your power, what are you going to do?” you ask her seriously. She looks at you angrily, but seeing your expression, hers softens.
“What?” she asks, confused. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?!”

“You saw what the Arbiter can do.” you say seriously. “Even working together, the three of us didn’t stand a chance.”
“Well what the hell do you expect me to do, just quit?!” she shouts angrily, Meloka taking a step forward warily. “I’m gonna-!”
“You’re strong, Komand’r.” you say over her, sighing out. “But if you rush out there for vengeance and just throw your life away, you’d be wasting your potential.”
“My potential, huh?” she asks, leaning in towards you with her hands on her knees. “And what’s that supposed to mean? Huh, Karn?”

“You could be so much stronger, so much more than you are.” you say, reaching out and putting your left hand on her shoulder. She looks at your hand then up to you, more confused than ever. “Instead of going out there and wasting your potential, stay here and train with us. The Covenant are headed here soon, and they’re going to do their best to wipe me and my people out too. Stay and train with us, and when those Covenant bastards show up, exact your revenge. Fight with us, and pay them back for every single drop of your people’s blood they spilled!”

She looks to you confused for a moment, you holding your right hand out to her. She looks between your face and hand, a wolfish grin soon appearing on her face.

“You know what?” she says, reaching out and clasping your hand, squeezing tight. “I’m in. Let’s kill these bastards together.”

He’s fuming. “Those damn monkeys, I’ll kill them next time. Them and their pet heretic too.” Looked around for them, expecting a sneak attack.
>Unlike normal, there are actually a ton of survivors from this battle
Before she came to join you, she’d sent up the signal to retreat. They’d already had a signal to retreat, the Tamaraneans simply taking off into space. They’ll arrive on another Tamaranean colony within a month.
>stories
A certain Tamaranean noble will hear stories of the Oozaru and Super Saiyans, and along with those she heard from Komand’r, may seek the Saiyans out herself.
>>
>>2619489
I think if we can hit 900K+, we could take on Frieza is in Second Form. I hope he's not mad when we win for once.
>>
>>2619540
What I think is a neat thought is since Frieza just skips to his final form and slowly cranks up his total power manually to match Karn is that Frieza will already have a little bit more stamina and familiarity with his final form. It's like how even if you only go outside and walk around your neighborhood you'd have more stamina than someone who doesn't do that, despite the fact that walking is hardly strenuous. Frieza doesn't necessarily need to push himself very hard to get stronger. Baby steps.
>>
>>2619540
Perhaps. But you’ll certainly be able to take his base form. He should have known you wouldn’t just, stop getting stronger.

>>
>>2619904
>Why did Denethor love Boromir more than Faramir, despite Faramir being more like Denethor than Boromir?
Google tells me these are LotR characters.
I never read anything by Tolkien...
I'm just gonna assume that Denethor sees that Faramir is more like him than Boromir, yet he sees specifically in himself and Faramir numerous flaws.
Boromir probably holds very little of those same diminishing qualities that Denethor (and by extension Faramir) is defined by.
This would lead Denethor seeing Boromir as what his son should be like (Not like Denethor) versus Faramir, who is seen as the exact opposite.
Am I on the money or is my guess bullshit?
>TL:DR; Denethor hates himself and by extension Faramir?

Now that you mention it? Both.
The Frieza Force as a whole could probably use some instruction on how to properly use a gravity chamber.
Just imagine some hot-shot peewee with a powerlevel of 15K waltzing into a gravity chamber and booting it up to max just because he "[...]was born on a high gravity planet."
>>
>>2620053
>And not quite? But perhaps there may be something to that actually...
Maybe I'm just applying the whole "like father like son" concept and the new GoW storyline with Atreus way too hard.
>>
>>2620095
The new GoW is so fucking beast though so it's okay to push it into stuff. Sure it doesn't actually do anything new with Kratos but it focuses more on the other side of Kratos' character.
>>
>>2620095
I wonder if we'll ever encounter Kratos or Atreus one day.
>>
>>2620135
You mean it focuses on the human aspects of Kratos that actually make him an interesting character?
Wonder why it took them over a decade to figure that out?
>>
>>2620140
Once we hit SSG, I imagine we're gonna be seeing a lot more of the god-slayer types.
>>
>>2620142
The tone of the games are different. The first three show Kratos as an irredeemable monster who had to discard his humanity in order to reach his goals. It was about his struggle of being the most horrible piece of shit even if his reasons were absolutely a viable reason for revenge and taking it too far. He's always tried to be a good father but kept getting pulled back into a rage monster. At the end of his character arc he well and truly knew he was the worst person imaginable but still tried his best to do the right thing.

The new game is about him accepting and overcoming his past for the future of his son, and it is VERY in your face about it. The only reason it doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth with how loud it is about it's father/son focus is because it does do it well.

Both the original series and the new game (and likely sequels) focused very hard on Kratos' humanity albeit from different aspects. Don't act like the new game is doing something that the first games didn't touch on at all because they aren't. It's just easy to forget after so long and the scenes being so brief in the classics that Kratos is always in dad-mode.
>>
>>2620178
Why can't I get this level of effort in a response on boards actually devoted to vidya?
>>
>>2620186
Because /v/ is utterly cancer in every way shape and form and literally only care about shitpost and screaming about "SHILLSNINTENKIDSFAGS" whenever new games are announced and threads made in an attempt to garner discussion about them.

/vg/ is somewhat better, but almost everyone there is depressive as fuck (mostly justified to be fair), and the hotpockets over there are utterly insane and will nuke good generals for no other reason than "They can", or for the lulz/autism
>>
>>2620186
Because people on those boards usually only care about talking mad shit or fanwanking. It's a sad state of affairs. And it doesn't hurt that after-hours on a quest when there is a lot of downtime is where people talk about other stuff that may or may not be relevant.

>>2620140
>>2620158
Like this, I would absolutely love to see a cameo by Kratos either classic or revamp in an omake at some point. Like the tournament of power and Kratos Spartan Rages through dimensions or some shit for some reason and brawls with the heaviest hitters from here. I'm really not very good at setting up plots by the way. But I have no shame in posting bad ideas anyway.
>>
>>2620203
I assume we're gonna be in charge of gathering the team once the Tournament of Power is announced.
By that time that happens, I imagine we're gonna have quite the selection of fighters to choose from.
I like what a lot of teams did in canon where they had really good gimmicks, but they usually lacked fighters who could actually hold their own in a straight-up fight with the stronger conventional fighters from other universes.
I imagine if we get a good mix of the good gimmicks and heavy-hitters, as well as actually training to fight as teammates rather than lone wolves, we'd be a top contender instead of a complete shitshow like canon U7.
>>
>>2620219
All we need to do is go Blanco and victory is assured. Thankfully with good enough ki control and manipulation abilities you can mimic a lot of tricks others can pull out of their asses, or at least overcome them in a creative way. Though I can't see the majority of players picking a gimmicky team locked down by a super heavy-hitter. We'd probably end up with the normal cast + one or two characters we may not normally interact with if the choice was in our hands. What we need is to find our version of Hit and bum his time-skipping technique from him. Then teach it to everyone. Damn Saiyan move-sponging. I wouldn't mind seeing that four witches thing that gives the user an extra set of arms. More limbs is always great in any fight. Like how fighting Frieza is a nightmare because he can hit you with his tail while you're occupied with his other limbs. We need Goro.

saldy trying to talk Akuma into joining this is right out because of the 'no killing' rule. i bet outright murdering peopels souls bypasses a lot of defenses.

You'd get winded so fast from doing that, though. Better for a surprise mid-fight than using it frequently. Which is why Hit's is better for actual fighting even though it's objectively inferior to Guldo's because Guldo doesn't necessarily need to come out of timestop to do stuff. He's just an overweight shorty who can barely even hold his breath. We need to get him some cardio. He'd be unstoppable.

Asura was totally justified. I see a theme that fucking with a dad's kids tends to make people into unstoppable killing machines. Even Liam Neesan.

Do keep in mind that even though Akuma and Asura fought to a standstill Akuma didn't just shit-stomp Heihachi and Kazuya in Tekken 7. So it comes down to which iteration you want to pick and choose from.

That's true, but even regular and Asura's second form are far and beyond stronger than anything in the Tekken-verse. He punched a dude bigger than the Earth to death. Shin Akuma from Asura's Wrath would wipe the floor with Kaz and Heihachi. It's a good thing it isn't the same continuity Akuma.

Dan is the true hero of SF. He even gets a raging demon. How is he not the most powerful character in history?
>>

Because nobody has ever actually taken the time to teach him properly.
The fact that he can even throw out a fireball with how little training he actually has is amazing.
Not to mention he's still about the same physically as people like Ryu and Ken who probably train like autists.
He'd probably be around Bison tier if he actually got serious about his training instead of get-rich-quick schemes.
>>
>>2620373
That's not really fair. He does train. Or at least he did when he had that revenge plot against Sagat. I'm also reasonably certain he did get similar training to Ryu and Ken. Obviously not as much since he can't truly pull off half the stuff they do, but still. There is a base for his techniques in there somewhere.

>>2620410
IIRC, he did go through the basics of Ansatsuken Karate before being booted by Gouken.
His reason for doing so being that Dan was training to get revenge and Gouken refused to be an accessory to something like that.
After getting kicked out Dan would cobble together the basics of Ansatsuken and Buraiken (his dad's style) to make Saikyo Ryu.
Even with this ghetto Jap-Chinese Karate, he was eligible for the SF2 world warrior tournament, (Or he would have been if he had paid the phone bill or actually given out his contact info in the commercials promoting his dojo.)
I imagine if he had a better foundation of Ansatsuken and/or got over himself, he'd be a force to be reckoned with.

Oh, oh god, i never really thought about it but this *is* a dragonball quest...
We're probably going to search for the dragonballs at some point, aren't we?
That means an earth invasion arc, where we're the bad guys.

Karn discovering the secret of earth's delicious food? Maybe flicking some cute little z-warriors? Talking to kami, guardian of earth?

>"Why do i want to dragonballs? Well, my friend and emperor of the galaxy, lord frieza unexpectedly fell in battle, so i was hoping to be able to resurrect him."
>"And what kind of person was this lord frieza, mister... Well, your nametag says "Karn the Destroyer, Genocider of worlds, the berserker god and honorary demon of battle"? I think that last title was bestowed by the princess of the demon realm..."
>"Uhhhh...."
>>
>>2620844
>"You forgot naked berserker but to be fair only Meloka calls me that."
>>
>>2620857
>"And this weird pink-haired Saiyan."
>>
>>2620844
>We're probably going to search for the dragonballs at some point, aren't we?
It’s entirely possible. But here’s a thought: how do you search for them with no radar?
>Talking to kami, guardian of earth?
“Oh hey, you’re this world’s Guardian? Neat. So I need these things called Dragonballs, I heard they can bring my friend(s) back to life. We’re kinda in the middle of a war, so can you hurry and get them for me?”
>>2620859
Oh if we get a Zamasu arc, it’ll be quite special.
>>
>>2620907
I was referring to trunks..
>>
>>2620915
Trunks’ hair is purple in most timelines, and blue in another. And to be fair, he doesn’t have any titles when he talks about you. He just has a noticeable shiver go up his spine when he remembers.
>>
>>2620907
Couldn't we just use a scouter to find the dragon balls?
>>
>>2620941
>>2620907
Actually, isn't it possible that raven would be able to sense them, since there isn't exactly a whole lot of magic of that caliber on earth?
We might end up running into baba, but besides that there's not many powerful magical artifacts to find.
>>
>>2620945
I'm not too keen on OG DB but wasn't there a fair few of them?
>>
>>2620953
Some, but not many, and definitely not with the power of a dragonball.
>>
>>2620941
Nope. Unless you have a scouter specifically modified to locate them.
>>2620945
That earth is absolutely littered with magical artifacts. The iconic Power Pole, Dragonballs, that one lightning crown, the Bansho fan, Popo’s teleporting carpet, the Blood Rubies, Shula’s sword... I could go on. There’s a LOT of magic and magical artifacts on earth.
>>
>>2620961
But are those magical artifacts so powerful that they emit a magical signal capable of being picked up by technological devices?

If it's possible to sense them at all, she'd be able to do so from quite a distance, just like a dragon radar. i hardly think she'd be able to mistake a dragonball for something like the power pole or bansho fan after having found the first one.
>>
>>2620969
Finding the first could be the hardest part. And as Pilaf proved, its quite possible to block the signal emitting from Dragonballs entirely.
>>
>>2620979
True, but that's what makes it fun, right?
>>
>>2620907
To be fair, if Kami is clever, he'll use the Dragon Balls as a barganing chip to give Earth protecting and at least some self-governing ability.
>>
>>2620988
If he was smart.
But is he smarter than he is a goodie-two-shoes?
>>
If we do go to Earth I want King Piccolo to have won and wished for immortality. But it doesn't help him since everyone not from Earth is so powerful that even Frieza's basic goons are raw stronger than him with their average PL of 1000.

Then KP could be the perfect target practice for Frieza. Also Kami would be immortal by extension so forever dragon balls.
>>
>>2620995
Possibly. He'd have to be unless he's still somehow the Nameless Namekian.

>>2620998
A constant war between the RR Army and it's Cyborgs against Piccolo's Mutant Namekians.
>>
>>2620998
Actually, the average non-saiyan frieza goon is 2k, isn't it?
>>
>>2621001
>A constant war between the RR Army and it's Cyborgs against Piccolo's Mutant Namekians.

>Gero VS. The Eternal Tyrant Piccolo

That's actually pretty sick. Could even be a good way to excuse everyone getting stronger on Earth despite the Fight-tard not being around.

>>2621004
Is it? Well that's just even more unfair. Poor weak canon Raditz.
>>
>>2620983
Always.
>>2620988
Unless he just blows himself up to spite the alien invaders.
>>2620998
The RR/King Piccolo wars would ravage earth.
>Also Kami would be immortal by extension so forever dragon balls.
When Kami dies of old age, then Piccolo would die with him.
>>2621004
That’s what it was. Saiyans have fucked that average, but the average non-Saiyan soldier’s powerlevel is still around 2k.
>>2621016
>everyone getting stronger
At least the survivors, anyways.
>poor weak canon Raditz
Poor Raditz indeed.
>>
>>2621025
>Unless he just blows himself up to spite the alien invaders.
Yeah, but why would he do that? He wasn't even willing to blow himself up to stop King Piccolo.
Besides, that would mean he consigns Earth to a sure death and I'd like to think Kami is abit more clever then that.
>>
>>2621036
well, it's not like we plan to blow up the earth or something, even if he does that...
karn isn't exactly a good guy, but he isn't a pure evil dickbag intent on wanton edgelord-tier destruction either.
if we ever do need the dragonballs, it'll probably be for something other than pure evil.

i'd be fine with getting that immortality for us and all our buds though
>>
>>2621025
Immortality bro. Can't die. Even still all KP would need to do even if you want to pull the "immortality isn't eternal youth" is collect the dragon balls again and wish that he or kami stops aging. As for tracking the dragon balls, the Red Ribbon Army did actually have a version of the dragonball radar which wasn't as precise but gave the general location of the dragonball. Pilaf even had one.

Really the only way KP dies is if Kami kills himself before KP has the chance to imprison him since the only other thing strong enough to beat KP on Earth would be the androids which wouldn't come around so early. Gero would need to pump out weaker ones until he started to git gud at making them. Or his supercomputer.
>>
>>2621044
In the scope of the quest, a planet without a guardian stops being able to support life, I believe.

Also, Kami is a good guy. To become Guardian he had to split himself from all his evil.
>>
>>2621036
Potentially. But he also told Goku to kill Piccolo Jr. And was willing to blow himself up tondestroy Garlic Jr.
>>2621044
Knowing what you know of a Guardian’s role, would you try to talk down Kami if he was?
>spoiler
And this is why avoiding the dragonballs is the best way to avoid gaming the meta too hard.
>>2621050
Wishes have a particular way of Monkey Pawing people. And King Piccolo, if freed, would do his usual “bring back my youth” then destroy Shenron so no one else could wish. The only one who ever got immortality from regular dragonballs was Garlic Jr. And yes the RR Army did. Pilaf also still had Bulma’s old radar he took from her in Super. Eighter wouldn’t stand a chance against King Green.
>>2621053
True. But if Kami believed the villains were going to blow up earth anyways (thanks to a certain Kai giving him a warning) he might do it as a last-ditch effort to prevent the villains from making a wish.
>>
>>2621222
>he might do it as a last-ditch effort to prevent the villains from making a wish.
Maybe, but he didn't seem too concerned in series when the bad guys made wishes.
>>
>>2621301
I’m just saying he’s been willing to aloha snackbar himself before.
>>
>>2621222
>Wishes have a particular way of Monkey Pawing people.

Neither Shenron or Perunga fucked people over like that. If they did a lot of what the Z-fighters wished for would just result in people dying again. Or KP being reverted to a child version of himself. The singular time anyone was monkeys pawed was Pilaf. And you could argue that's because his wording was shit and said something he didn't want at all. Up until that point Shenron just did what people wanted 9/10 and the only reason he fucked with Pilaf is because comedy reasons.

Besides. Wouldn't KP be able to create dragonballs just like Kami could? Or at least recreate the dragon if he so desired.
>>
>>2621426
True, for Dragonball as we saw it. But the dragons seem to take extra steps to help along altruistic wishes reach what the wish-makers intend.
>Wouldn't KP be able to create dragonballs just like Kami could? Or at least recreate the dragon if he so desired.
Actually no. This is because Piccolo is a warrior Namekian, whereas Kami isn’t. Even when Kami and Piccolo re-fused and Piccolo gained all Kami’s memories, he still couldn’t recreate the Dragonballs. Only select, special Namekians have that ability.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 45 Epilogue-

AGE 740, PLANET AZAR

You hurt. Opening your eyes, everything is pitch-dark. You are Meloka, proud Saiyan, warrior, mother of two and mate to your love and hero Karn. And you currently have no idea where you are. Something presses in on you from all sides, you feeling like you were buried alive. You spend a moment trying to remember what happened. Then it comes to you, you were in the middle of a battle. Karn had again gone running off to fight again while leaving you to protect the Power Balls strengthening Tunnip and the other non-Super Saiyans. Then there was a flash of light, and you suddenly woke up here. You’re debating what to do when suddenly, something grabs your leg and pulls you from out of the ground.

“DIE!!” you shout, igniting your Energy Blade and stabbing at whatever grabbed onto you. Like hell you’re letting these Covenant bast-!
SHIT!!” you hear Karn shout, panickedly, dropping you. “Meloka its me!”
“Karn?” you asks confused, then seeing you’d almost stabbed him. You quickly deactivate your blade, panic in your voice. “OhmygodI’msorryIdidn’tmean-!”

Before you can say anything else he grabs you up from the ground and pulls you close, hugging you tight. You can’t help but smile despite pain suddenly flaring up in your left arm, shoulder, ribs, and even that side of your face. But it doesn’t matter, he’s holding you. You feel yourself heat up a bit, and despite all these years you feel a small blush come to your face. Wrapped in his arms, your mind flashes back to that fateful day six years ago on Kvir’s moon...

You’d woken up groggy, not remembering what’d happened to you, but you could feel you were being carried. Opening your eyes, you’d seen Karn’s face really close to yours and thought to yourself, “He saved me again.”

"Karn?" you’d asked groggily. "What happened?"
"Oh hey you're up.” he said, looking at you a little worried. “Feeling better?"
"Mmmhmm. No complaints from me.” you’d said, adjusting yourself to get more comfortable(and a little closer to him). “Mind if I stay right here a little longer?"
"Of course, take your time." he’d said kindly. "But wrap your arms around me, so I can make sure I don't drop Leyas.”
"Oh, uhh, yeah okay." you replied nervously, hands behind his head and barely holding on.
"Oh come on Meloka." he’d exaggeratedly said. "Grab me like you actually want to be holding onto me."

“Does he know?!” you’d thought, feeling your face redden, looking away. Your brain explodes chaotically until one thought wins out: this is your chance! You may never get another like it, its now or never! You looked back to him, pulling your head beside his, then wrapping your legs around his middle.

“How I wanted, right?” you whisper in his ear. “Well what about this?"
“It’s about time.” he had said, but right then you’re snapped back to reality by Karn grabbing your shoulders.

You’re snapped from your recollections as Karn abruptly puts his hands on your shoulders, yours lighting up. Before you can protest, you see the concern in his eyes as he takes in the scope of your injuries from that blast. Despite enjoying being the sole focus of his attention, you don’t want him worrying about watching after you when he should be entirely focused on the battle. As you hear Tunnip roar out “Burst open and mix!” in the distance you take a moment to block out the pain, putting on a false confidence you don’t feel and rolling your injured shoulder.

“That hurt.” you say, flaring your golden Super Saiyan aura around yourself. “They’ll pay for that one.”
“LOOK OUT!!” he suddenly shouts, tackling you. His hit knocks the two of you back, you suddenly sensing two rapidly approaching powerlevels just before you see them. They both slam into the ground where the two of you were, kicking up a dust cloud. You and Karn both spring back to your feet and flare your golden auras, the blast of air blowing aside the dust and revealing your attackers. Two of the heavily armed and armored worm colony-like creatures that gave you such a hard time back on New Salda rise up, having slammed shield-first into the ground to crush you both. They level their cannons at Karn, the barrels beginning to glow green as they start charging.

“You’ll do.” you say, popping your knuckles and glaring at the beasts. They both roar in their odd, vibrate-y way, you and Karn dropping into your fighting stances. You don’t want Karm worrying about you, so you decide to take the initiative. And with a furious shout you suddenly explode off of the ground, closing the distance before it can react. You twist and bring your feet up, kicking the beast square in it’s shield with your full might and sending it flying. You use the impact to backflip to your feet, sliding a few inches back then blasting off of the ground at it again. You again close the distance, delivering a rapid dozen blows inside the creature’s guard then sending it airborne with a heavy uppercut. Before it can get too far away or recover you blast off after it, twisting around and flipping back to crash your knee down hard onto its head, sending the beast crashing hard to the ground. You drift back to the ground, marveling at how much stronger you’ve become in such a short time. When you’d both fought two of these back on New Salda, they had nearly killed the both of you several times over. But now, this thing’s barely even a challenge to you. Suddenly you hear two massive booms, turning and seeing Karn’s obliterated the one he’s fighting. You turn as your opponent roars, charging Karn in a rage. Oh, hell no!
cont
>>
>>2631076
“Oh no you don’t!” you shout, drawing your Energy Blade for the finisher and charging. As you advance you pump more and more ki into your blade, preparing your strongest finishing move. You catch the Covenant Hunter before it’s closed even half of the distance between itself and Karn, kicking it in the head with your left foot and sending it flying away from Karn and crashing into the crater wall. You land lightly on your feet, spinning to face the Hunter to unleash your Energy Blade Barrage. Slashing your blade back and forth through the air, you send a dozen smaller blades from it through the air to impale the creature, the points piercing through the beast’s armor. It roars with every hit, and with a flourish you detonate the explosive blades. The creatures perish in the explosion, you extinguishing your blade and turning to Karn. He looks like he wants to say something to you, but before he can you both feel it: the Arbiter has arrived!

“D-Dammit, already?!” you say, trembling slightly in fear. You’ve felt powers of this magnitude before, but this is different. You know he could kill you or even Karn without a second thought, neither of you strong enough to oppose him. “Karn, what do we do?”

But he doesn’t reply, not immediately. You recognize he’s speaking telepathically with someone, you linking to his mind as you feel the four Oozaru’s powerlevels closing in on you both.

“-then we’re getting the hell out of here. I’d suggest you do the same, evacuate your people while you have the chance.”
“Run away?!” Komand’r thinks back at Karn indignantly. “You’d have us abandon our world?”
“We can’t beat him yet.” Karn replies as the other Saiyans start gathering around you both. “We’re gonna try and buy as much time as we can, but we’re not dying here for you. I’m not sure if even Freeza himself is strong enough to beat this guy. If you want to stay and die that’s your choice, but I’m gonna live and get strong enough to kill him myself.”

“Wait what?” she asks, but with everyone here he cuts the link.
“Alright, everyone, listen up.” Karn shouts up to the Oozaru, then Ascending in a burst of sparks. “The Arbiter’s here, so its time for us to go. But before we leave, let’s leave him a little present. They can’t breathe in space, so we’re gonna fuck his ship up before we go!”

https://youtube.com/watch?v=5s9xI_D7qhU

“Now, together! HAAAAAAAA!!” he shouts, the Oozaru roaring out as well. You join in as well, tossing your arms wide as you begin gathering your power. You feel that familiar agony of your body rapidly expanding, powering up to your unwieldy Ultra form. Its too slow for combat, but for shooting down a slow-moving ship? Perfect. Once transformed you float over to Karn and put your back to his chest, readying your combined Final Flash, the raw energy shaking the planet as you prepare to fire. “Everyone ready? NOW!!”
cont
>>
>>2631079
“FINAL FLASH!!” you and Karn shout together, everyone firing their attacks as one. Your blasts combine into one insane column of power, obliteraing several ships unfortunate enough to be in the way. You can sense your attack getting closet and closer, the Arbiter not moving.

“Taaaaake THIS!!” Karn roars, then you feel it: the attack hits true! You feel your combined energies slam into the Arbiter himself, blasting him away from the planet and out into space. Everyone lets off of the attack once he’s blasted away, you reverting back to a regular Super Saiyan as the other four return from their Oozaru forms. You spend a moment catching your breath with everyone else, you put a lot of power into that hit. After a few moments of recovering Karn starts talking, ready to move.

“Alright, let’s get the hell out of here while we still-“ he’d said, just before something suddenly impacts the ground between the six of you. It hits with insane force, blasting all of you back and away. You cough on the kicked up dust as you rise to your feet, sensing out for everyone, but you feel it and are suddenly frozen in fear. The Arbiter is RIGHT THERE!!

“Trying to kill me in the void of space?” the Arbiter says, rising up to his feet. “Clever, monkies. But you’ll never stop me like that.”
“General Nappa, take the other Saiyans and go.” Karn says, rising fully to your feet and glaring hard at the Arbiter. “Get back to the portal, Raven should already have it open. I’ll hold him here.”
“But-!” Nappa starts, Karn flaring his golden sparking aura and shouting.
“Move Nappa!!” Karn shouts, taking a step towards the Arbiter. “You guys can’t help here, you’d only get in my way!”
“Yo-You’d better not fucking lose!” Sarada shouts, the first one to take off back towards the palace. Leyas and Tunnip follow her immediately, Nappa waiting a moment longer, the turns and leaves as well, leaving you and Karn alone in the crater with the Arbiter.

“Meloka-“ he starts, you having a terrible feeling you know where this is going. And you will NOT leave him alone with this monster. Not this time. You’d rather die right here and now by his side, than let him sacrifice himself for you. You can’t live without him, not anymore.
“No way, there’s no way I’m leaving you now.” you say to him with a confidence in your smile you don’t feel. “We have to make it back to New Salda. Together.”

You don’t tell him what’s waiting for him when he gets back home, either. You’d spoken quite a bit with the Guardian after that odd conversation with the Yautja that was spying on Vegeta. After learning what he was talking about, you’d become resolute.
“I was gonna say, we’ll take him. Together.” Karn says, your eyes widening in surprise. This wasn’t what you were expecting at all. Together...
cont
>>
>>2631080
Together. You and Karn have fought as allies hundreds of times before, but never together like this. Even when the two of you had faced Freeza, there was too much of a power gap between you and Karn to really DO anything. You’d held Karn back more than helped, but not this time!

“Yeah!” you say, hiding your fears behind a wolfish smile, you both then turning to the Arbiter. As one you both flare your auras up and gather your ki, then as one you both shout, “We’ll show you what we can do!”
“Very well.” the Arbiter says, drawing a Covenant Energy Blade in either hand, the swords humming audibly. “Bring it!”

For a few moments everything is quiet, you and Karn standing side by side, staring down the insanely powerful Arbiter. You do your best to avoid trembling, only a small shake in your injured left arm betraying your worry and fears.

“Haaaa!” Karn shouts, creating a massive Energy Blade with both hands. If he’s going power you’ll go speed, creating an Energy Blade in either hand and shifting your stance. Karn turns his head to you and nods with a pleased smile, you nodding back. Its time.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=MhQbJc1euxg

“HAAAAAAAAAA!!” you roar alongside Karn as you both explode off the ground, charging headlong at the powerful creature. Karn opens with a massive thrust, you flipping over the Arbiter and swinging at the back of his neck to decapitate him. He deflects Karn’s stab as he also blocks your strike, pushing you back from him. You flip and land on your feet as Karn spins back to face the gold-clad Sangheili. As your feet hit the ground you blast back at the creature, Karn resuming his attack from the other side.

“I’m doing it! I’m really doing it!” you think elatedly to yourself as you and Karn spin and flip around the Arbiter and assail him from all sides with the advanced movements of the Su Ma. “We’re really fighting together!”

You focus on quick thrusts and slashes, and even with the flipping and spinning of the Su Ma, you manage to keep on the opposite side of the Arbiter from Karn. Your swords are far more maneuverable than his single massive blade, swinging at the Arbiter usually two times for each of Karn’s heavy, crushing swings. You keep attacking relentlessly, the Arbiter forced to focus on defense instead of attacking you or Karn. Until Karn changes the battle. Planting his feet solidly Karn lifts his blade above his head and swings it down in a heavy crushing blow. You rush as well, slicing at his eyes then thrusting at the Arbiter’s hip. He turns his attention off Karn’s deflected strike and focuses you, and its nearly the end of him. Karn fires a pair of beams from his eyes, you twisting away. He sees Karn’s beams, but is too slow reacting. The attack catches him across his right eye, scoring a line in his helmet. The Arbiter roars in pain and turns to Karn, ready to repay him, forgetting you for a moment in his rage. Now’s your chance!

The Arbiter roars as he twists, swinging both of his blades at Karn. He block his first strike then leaps back as you rush his exposed back. You have a chance, you can end it now! You launch yourself at his exposed back, thrusting both blades right for his spine. The Arbiter twists as you close in, only giving him a pair of cuts across his side instead of a paralyzing strike. But your attacks do still hurt the Arbiter, the beast making a pained noise as your blades slice into his flesh. But in your haste you left yourself wide open, the Arbiter raising his right arm to end you. But before he can, Karn again saves you. Karn again fires his Eye Beams, both hitting him in his right shoulder, his attack distracting your foe long enough to pull back, uninjured.

With another shout you and Karn again rush the Arbiter from near-opposite sides, continuing your bladed Su Ma assault. But now, whenever the Arbiter tries to focus either you or Karn, the other fires a pair of Eye Beams at the Covenant’s best fighter. You can feel his frustration, his inability to pin either of you long enough for a direct hit enraging the golden-clad alien. His aura begins glowing around himself, low at first, but then you notice it: his aura is golden as well, and he seems to be positively glowing. You realize what he’s about to do a half-second too late, the Arbiter roaring out and firing an Explosive Wave. The blast knocks you and Karn seperate directions, helplessly watching as the Arbiter leaps at Karn, ready to impale him.

“Now you die!” he roars as you deactivate one of your blades and begin gathering power in your palm to blast the Arbiter, desperate to stop him, but you don’t get the chance. As focused as he was on Karn, he never even saw Komand’r approaching, the Tamaranean princess knocking the Arbiter back with a solid kick to the side of his head.
“I don’t think so!” she shouts as her kick connects, sending the Arbiter flying. He lands in a roll, leaping back to keep his good eye on you too.
“So you wish to die as well.” he says as well as Komand’r turns to Karn and offers him a hand up, “You aren’t very good at running away, you know that?”

Before you can process it, the Arbiter had already closed the gap between them and impaled her with one of his swords. You gasp in shock, the Arbiter casually kicking her off his sword and turning to Karn. You watch in horror as the Arbiter’s blade goes through Karn’s chest, him blocking his face from Karn’s attack with his other blade.

“KARN! NOOO!!” you scream, Karn’s beams redirecting at the Arbiter’s head from different angles as you tremble in fury. How... how DARE he?! The Arbiter then twists and jerks his Energy Sword from Karn’s chest, Karb’s attack ending as he falls back limply to the ground. The sound of his agonized scream, along with seeing that spray of blood from his chest snaps something inside you, a dark and terrible rage unleashed.

“KARN!!” you shout in your mind, seeing images of every time he’s been injured near-death in battle and you were powerless to stop it. You can’t let this keep happening. You WON’T let it!

“Get! Away from him! You! Bastard!!” you shout, voice breaking, ground rumbling beneath your feet as your aura flares uncontrollably. You feel your energy spike, body expanding slightly and hair spiking more than before. As you feel this surge of raw power level off you draw your Energy Blade, pouring your ki into it. “I’LL KIIILL YOOOU!!”

You then explodes off the ground, blasting straight for the Arbiter. He crosses his blades to block your strike, but its no use. You easily overpower the startled alien and send him flying with your first strike, following close behind. He flips once and lands, you already on top of him and continuing your unrelenting assault. But this time he’s ready. You clash with the golden Covenant bastard, blade striking blades as he begins pushing you back. With a snarl you backflip away then start wildly swinging your blade, again firing off your Energy Blade Barrage. In seconds you’ve fired several dozen of the smaller blade projectiles, the Arbiter using both of his blades to cut every one of them down before they can hit him. The deflected blades all stick into the ground around his feet, you noticing your chance. With a flourish you activate the blades. The Arbiter looks around, noticing the blades around him for the first time.

“DIE!!” you shout, the blades glowing bright a moment then exploding all around the Arbiter. You seize the opportunity, blasting over to Katn and helping him to his feet to get the hell out of there. “Karn, are you okay?”
“I, I can still- wait what’s that?” he asks, looking behind you. In a panic you spin, expecting more Covenant forces to have converged. Instead...
“Raven!” you shout, stunned. “You made it!”
“I’m sorry I’m late, I had to get everyone ready.” she says, then focuses entirely on the Arbiter. “You will pay for what you have done here.”
“A witch? You’d dare use dark magics on me?!” the Arbiter shouts indignantly. He begins glowing golden in his outrage, you feeling his full power readied. “I will not let this heresy stand!“
“Azarath Metrion Zinthos!!” Raven shouts, you watching stunned as her powers seem to affect the Arbiter. She blasts him with a wave of darkness, then traps him in a dark ball as he recovers. both you and her get an arm under each of Karn’s holding him up. “We have to move, that won’t hold him for long.”

You hear the Arbiter ranting as Raven holds out a hand and creates another portal, the three of you stepping through. She turns to close it, Karn stopping her.

“Wait, we have to get Komand’r, she’s injured!” he shouts, you dashing back out of the portal without thinking. The Arbiter rushes towards you, and for a moment you wonder what the hell you’re doing.

“Why am I risking Karn’s life to save hers?” you think to yourself before tossing an Energy Bomb into the ground and kicking up a massive cloud of dust at your feet. You lock onto Komand’r’s fading ki and dash to her, giving the Arbiter a wide berth. You find the Tamaranean quickly, throwing her over your shoulders and dashing back through the portal under the dust cloud’s cover. Once you’re in Raven releases her hold on the portal, you feeling the Arbiter’s ki disappearing from your senses. You actually made it. But there’s no time to rest, you immediately stripping Karn’s armor, getting him ready to go in the Healing Pod when the doctor stops you.

“Her first.” he says, pointing at Komand’r.
“What?!” you ask indignantly and stare down the doctor, as his assistant moves around you and begins taking her armor off.
“She’s dying.” he says simply, looking between her and Karn. “He’s got time. Tough. She almost gone.”
“Grrr fine!” you shout, getting Komand’r in one pod quickly, then Karn in the other. With him safely inside the Healing Pod you can finally relax, sighing out and dropping back to your base form as a wave of exhaustion hits. You slump down against the Healing Pod Karn’s in as you feel your eyes begin drooping.

“Thank you Rav-” you say to the young witch, the day’s events catching up to you and you falling asleep. Your sleep, however, isn’t restful. You suddenly wake up in a cold sweat, Energy Blade already drawn. You pant out several times, taking a few seconds to realize that you’re not in your nightmare, nothing happened, and you and Karn are fine.
“Troubled, your sleep is?” the Guardian asks, you turning to the doorway. The light of your blade illuminates the Guardian. You don’t answer with words, nodding to him then looking to Karn in the Healing Pod. “With me, you come?”

You’re torn, looking between Karn and the Guardian. You want to be here for him when he wakes up, but you know it’ll be hours yet before he’s out. So with a nod you follow the Guardian outside the ship, the elder looking up into the moonless starry sky from his usual spot.

“Beautiful, are they not?” he asks, you raising an eyebrow curiously. When he says nothing else you look into the sky as well, simply seeing stars. Where is he going with this? You remain silent, simply looking with the Guardian up into the night sky. You feel a cold breeze against where you were injured in the blast, you shivering and crossing your arms across your partly-exposed chest. Before you can turn back to get a fresh suit, however, a long brown hooded robe suddenly drapes itself over your shoulders. It’s surprisingly soft, you pulling the comforting, old-smelling garment closer around you.

“Thank you.” you say, seeing a twinkle in the old creature’s eye. He then gets serious, looking fully at you.
“What troubles you?” he asks, then after a moment’s pause. “Karn?”

“Y-Yeah.” you sigh out, sitting down beside the Guardian. Karn...
“Your first memory of him, you would share?” he asks. You nod, a faint smile coming to your face as you recount the day you’d first met Karn.

It was a usual rowdy day in Elder Yamma’s village. You were 11 at the time, and were enjoying running around the village playing when suddenly you heard one of the lookouts shouts the words you all lived in worry of, “Tuffle ships incoming!” But as soon as he shouted his warning, the rocky pillar he was posted on exploded in a fireball. Screaming broke out everywhere at once, Tuffle ships appearing overhead and firing at the village. You’re frozen in shock as explosions rock the village, a dozen or so older Saiyans taking to the air to fight. You watch on stunned as the other Saiyans fight back, but they can’t fend them all off. Ships get through their defensive efforts and continue blasting the village, a close explosion knocking you on your ass. You look up terrified as a Tuffle ship heads right for you, you unable to move. You watch in terror as it releases a bomb right at you, its gonna kill you! But suddenly a young man dropped from the sky right in front of you, between you and the ship.

“HAAAAA!!” he shouted, firing a wave of energy from his palm and destroying both the Tuffle bomb and ship. He then turned to you, holding out a hand. “You okay?”
“Y-Yeah...” you said, taking his hand. He then pulled you to your feet, but before you could say anything else one of the older Saiyans shouts down.
“Karn get your ass up here!”
“R-Right!” he shouted, taking to the air and rejoining the fight.
“My hero.” you’d thought to yourself, eyes never leaving him as he bravely fought off the Tuffle attack. You felt an odd sensation in your chest as you watched him from the ground, for some reason your face heating up. “One day I’ll be just like you, Karn.”

You smile at the recollection, humming contentedly to yourself.

“Enamored with him, you were.” the Guardian says. “Love him, you do. Afraid, you are, of losing him.”

Your chest tightens at the thought, you feeling a familiar panic creeping up. Before you can think on it, the Guardian puts his hand on your shoulder, causing you to wince and flinch. Wordlessly he removes his hand, putting it to the injured side of your face instead and closing his eyes. You watch as he’s enveloped in a gentle blue aura, a strange warmth radiating from his hand into you. He glows that soft blue for a few moments before his aura fades, you rubbing your cheek when he pulls his hand away. Wait, what?

You rush to the water’s edge, tossing the cloak back from your injured shoulder as you create a ball of ki overhead to illuminate your reflection. In the water, you see something extraordinary: the Guardian somehow healed you.

“What? How?” you ask, confused, the Guardian chuckling as he hobbles on his cane up beside you.
“Much to learn, you still have.” he says with a smile, reaching inside his robe and pulling out an oddly black box, holding it out to you. You look at him curiously, taking and opening the box. You look at the contents, eyes widening in surprise.
“Are these...?” you ask, the Guardian nodding with a smile.
“Of Katchin, they are made.” he says, you staring at the two objects inside with wonder. You feel a giddy excitement rising in your chest, this is really going to happen! “Unbreakable, they are. Much as the love sha-“

He’s unable to finish, you rushing and dropping to a knee and hugging the Guardian.

“Thank you. For everything.” you tell him sincerely, a few tears coming to your eyes.
“Go now. Sleep.” he says, patting your shoulder. “Your rest, you need.”
“Right.” you say, letting him go and happily floating the entire way back inside the ship. You clutch the small box to your chest the entire way, humming happily to yourself. You check in on Chaya, Chilli, and Broly, the three, no, your three kids all fast asleep on yours and Karn’s bed. Your smile widens, you leaving the three of them there and returning to Karn in Medical. You walk up to the pod he’s in, placing your empty hand on the glass as you look at Karn. You simply stand there looking at him, then turning and sitting at the base of the Healing Pod. You lean back against it, wrapping the cloak the Guardian had given you around yourself then freeing your hands and opening the box again. You can barely see the pair of black Katchin rings in the dark, you closing the tiny box and holding it to your chest, drifting off to peaceful sleep as dreams of what will soon be fill your slumber.
