You are pilot HARRY NEUMANN, the newest of one of the New UN Spacy's Tactical Sound Units!

Currently, you had just gotten out of a rather tense meeting with NUNS High Command and secured some limited support for the impending assault on the Star Forge that they wanted. Afterwards, you had agreed with Dorothea to take the opportunity to swing by and visit her home city of New London. An opportunity she rarely had the time for these days.

The two of you were sitting in a shuttle that was already well on its way to the city.

Dorothea, meanwhile, was fast asleep. Just taking a quick nap after the rough experience that was dealing with her direct superiors. You honestly couldn't blame her. However, that put the onus on where to land on you, since neither you nor the pilot had the nerve to wake her up mid flight, and you weren't exactly too familiar with the area.

Well... you quickly glance at the map. There was the city proper, which boasted many faithful recreations of the original London's monuments and landmarks, with lots of tourist and shopping opportunities for visiting offworlders.

And then there was the famous idyllic English countryside. Surprisingly enough, quite a few of the old castles and manors survived the Zentradi bombardment from the First Space War, having been far enough away from the main population centers to escape the blasts. These places where EXTREMELY popular, given the scarcity of relics from pre-War Earth.

And, well, there was Dorothea's alma mater, the New London Royal Navy College, one of the highest institutions of military education. Perhaps she'd appreciate blast from the past?

You tell the pilot to set a course for the Naval Academy. Despite it's name, it wasn't actually located in New London proper, instead being on the outskirts of they city on England's eastern coast, at the mouth of River Thames. The pilot nods and the shuttle shifts as it vectors for it's destination.

However, the shift was enough to rouse Dorothea from her slumber, and her eyes squint and flutter as she awakes.

"W-where are we?" She mumbles, still groggy and unsure of her surroundings.

"Still in the air." You say. "We're almost at our destination."

"Mhm..." Dorothea suppresses a yawn as she straightens out her jacket. "And where exactly are we landing?"

Dorothea's head surely but slowly swivels back to face you, her face a nice shade of red like her hair as the realization of what you had done dawns upon her.

There's no dignified silence, or witty comeback. All of Dorothea's acquired British mannerisms fail her and she's left with only one avenue of action.

"You cheeky cunt." She groans. "I'm not even dressed properly! I thought we'd be going to the city!"

You just burst into laughter. Of all the things, THAT'S what she's most worried about?

"This is serious!' Dorothea pouts, giving you an annoyed glare. "I'm still a NUNS officer and I should be expected to carry myself as one in the Academy!"

"I think you're overthinking this too much." You laugh. "I mean, it's not like you're coming here in any official capacity, right? You don't have to make any sort of big, stuffy speech or lecture in front of the cadets, so it should be fine."

"I... I suppose." Dorothea sighs. "But I'm holding you personally responsible for anything that happens."

"Sure, sure." You nod absentmindedly as the shuttle lands.

As you step out, you see a large, regal stone building. Obviously a replica built as close as possible to one of the original naval colleges that used to exist. It had a very... intimidating feel to it, looking it at the first time.

Maybe that was the point, honestly.

You both get a mix of curious and suspicious looks, but otherwise none of the cadets go out of their way to bother you. Civilian visitors weren't uncommon, and their military discipline no doubt meant they were conditioned not to question these things.

"It's practically the same since I've left..." Dorothea sighs as she looks around. No doubt old memories being dredged up.

"Cadet Fletcher, at your service!" The cadet salutes enthusiastically. "Where would you like to go? Are you here to meet the Headmaster? Visit the museum? See the dockyard?"

"The museum sounds great." You grin. "How about we check that out?"

"I suppose so..." Dorothea nods nervously.

"All right! It's just this way!" Cadet Fletcher says happily as she spins on her heel and starts marching for the front door of the main building.

As you enter, you marvel at the stone construction and architecture, wondering just how well the architects were able to recreate the original. Then again, if the regular person couldn't tell the difference, did it matter?

Dorothea, however, was a bit more stiff in her posture and movements than normal, and you wonder if she had some sort of cramp or something, and then you quickly see why.

As Cadet Fletcher leads into large, marble chamber, you are immediately greeted by rows and rows of glass cases containing numerous items, relics, and models of all types.

And up there, on one of the walls, was a massive display of paintings and pictures and trophies and awards. No doubt this was the schools "trophy wall". And up there in the center was a prominent row of portraits showing hand painted pictures of students. No doubt the top honor students that had graduated from the place.

And right there among them was what you could swear was a young Dorothea.

Dorothea just look at the picture and freezes.

"Hey." You tap Cadet Fletcher's shoulder and point up to the portrait of Dorothea. "Who's that up there?"

"Oh!" Cadet Fletcher's face brightens up. "That's only Dorothea Nelson! One of the the Academy's top students of all time!"

You see Dorothea trying to edge away but you grab her hand to keep her from escaping.

"Hey, don't you want to hear the story?" You grin.

Dorothea just shoots you an extremely venomous but embarrassed glare which amuses you more than it intimidates.

"She was the top of the class in every subject she studied!" Cadet Fletcher continues. "Sailing, history, fencing, marksmanship, academics, and more! She basically aced every course the school had to offer!"

"Is she now?" You grin as you bob your head at Dorothea. "So you can say she was the model student!"

"The modelest of models!" Cadet Fletcher nods and pauses, just now taking a good look at Dorothea's face. She looks at it, and then back at the portrait, and repeats the motion several times.

"Ohmygod that's YOOOOOUUUU!" She squeals, and the pauses and salutes. "It's an honor to meet you, Admiral!"

"T-that's not necessary..." Dorothea stammers.

Sheesh, she really was a different person when back in her old school. Then again, you would probably be the same.

"I got so many questions to ask yoouuuu!" Cadet Fletcher's eyes sparkle.

You just let Cadet Fletcher indulge herself as she barrages poor Dorothea under a sustain assault of questions and queries. Meanwhile, you take the opportunity to get a better look around the museum by yourself for a few minutes, if you so chose.

In one wing, you could see where the school had stored some of the few Royal Navy relics that had managed to survive the bombardment. Might be a neat educational experience.

In the main hall were exhibits dedicated to more contemporary topics, such as older pattern Valkyries and material related to the original SDF-1 and its exploits in Space War One.

And finally, in another wing looked to be the trophy hall dedicated solely to the Academy's own academic and sports achievements. Maybe you'll find a little more of Dorothea's past in there?

You wander over the trophy hall, where you see all a manner of tributes to the various sports that the Academy supported. The most immediate and prominent was their soccer team, or what the British called "football", it was dreadfully confusing. However, as you went down the line, you saw other sports such as swimming, track and field, and cricket, whatever the hell that was.

Most notably though, you saw one picture in particular showing Dorothea holding a rather large trophy with a big a stupid grin, obviously caught in the heat of the moment. A brief flash of the genuine girl under all that manufactured stoicism.

"Please, you don't have to go into so much detail..." Dorothea groans, her face fully red again.

"You're plenty special, Dorothea." You grin, taking her hand. "You should be proud of your accomplishments."

Dorothea just seems to freeze. Her legs then buckle and falls forward into your chest. Thankfully, you're close and quick enough to catch her.

"Oh no!" Cadet Fletcher gasps. "Is she okay?"

"I-I'm fine." Dorothea assures her. "I'm just a bit exhausted, that's all."

"D-do you need to go the nurse's office anything?" Cadet Fletcher asks, obviously worried.

"That's a good idea." You nod. "Can you lead the way?"

Cadet Fletcher then dutifully leads you down the stone halls to another wing of the building, with you supporting he dazed Dorothea all along the way. Up ahead, you could see a door with the word INFIRMARY written on it.

Inside, you could see a couple of rows of beds lined up along the walls. There was a desk for the doctor on duty to work at, and shelves of medicine and medical equipment. Very much like a very large doctor's office. You set Dorothea down on the bed while Cadet Fletcher pours a glass of water from a prepared pitcher.

"Thanks." You nod as you take the glass from the Cadet. Just then, you hear a loud ringing.

"I'm really sorry, but I have to head out now." Cadet Fletcher sighs. "I have track practice to go to now!"

"Don't worry, you've been more than a help to us." You smile. "We'll be fine."

"Okay.!" Cadet Fletcher nods, encouraged by your assurances. "Well, the doctor should be coming back soon, so just wait a little longer!"

And with that, Cadet Fletcher makes her exit. Heh, she was a pretty nice kid, you reckon.

Dorothea, meanwhile, was snuggled up in the bed you set her down in, breathing softly but certainly.

You decide to stay in the room with Dorothea, loyally taking up a chair and taking a seat next to her bed to keep an eye on her. Dorothea mumbles as she turns over to face you.

"I suppose I've done nothing but make myself look like a fool in front of you today." She sighs.

"Don't be silly, it was really educational." You chuckle at the minor pun. "It let me see a side of you that you normally don't show all that much."

"Really?" Dorothea raises an eyebrow.

"I'm serious." You tell her. "Seeing Cadet Nelson being so cute really makes me appreciate Admiral Nelson all the more."

"Nnnnnnn." Dorothea turns away, making sure to hide her face from you. So transparent. "...thanks, I appreciate it."

"No problem." You grin as you ruffle her hair. Fortunately, she does nothing to stop you or retaliate.

"Anyways, I'm feeling better now." Dorothea says as she gets up from the bed. "I appreciate you bringing me back here, I really do, but I think we've spent enough time away from the Fleet."

>Whatever you say.

"Can't we stick around a little longer?" You ask. "Maybe hit up a local pub?"

"Hmph, want an excuse to drink, huh?" Dorothea chuckles. "All right, I know a place nearby..."

Dorothea gets up from her bed, having found her strength again as she guides you out of the infirmary and through the halls, stopping at what looks like a utility door.

"I don't think I have to tell you that what you see here is not uttered to anybody else." Dorothea cautions you.

"Of course." You nod.

Satisfied with your reply, Dorothea pulls the door open and steps inside. At first it looks like any storage room, but Dorothea continues and pushes against the far wall, which swings open for her. A trick door. And on the other side, a flight of stairs leading down. You follow Dorothea, unsure of what lay in wait below.

And, well, at the bottom of the stairs turns out to be a basement area that had been converted into a a small, hidden pub. In addition the large bar, there were also pool tables, television view screens, and other random memorabilia.

"Come along, then." Dorothea says as she leads you in.

"What is this place?" You ask, curious.

"An unofficial teacher's lounge, you might say." Dorothea smiles and gives you a wink. "Maybe sometimes a well performing honor student would be told of its existence..."

Dorothea then takes a seat at the bar, the bartender having already left a bottle of rum ready for her.

"Well? You wanted the pub experience right?" Dorothea smiles as she waves an empty glass in front of you.

"So." You grin as you take a seat alongside Dorothea to take her up on her offer. "I'm sure you got up to all kinds of things while you were in school..."

"Of course." Dorothea smiles as she starts pouring out two glasses of rum for the both of you. "The stories I could tell...."

"Well, we've got some time." You tell her.

"Oh dear..." Dorothea swiftly downs her first glass of rum before you can even catch it. "Where do i even start...?"
