Character info pastebin in progress: http://pastebin.com/iB0tb7rz
Dice odds for best of 3: http://pastebin.com/994WTT3g

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.
Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the the PTU system, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves and also may leave you open to an interrupt, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.

Pokemon and trainers are unique, and may have certain specializations, skills, or other things that the video-game mechanics might not allow. Some examples: That kung fu Bellsprout in the anime, that crystal Onix, or a Roggenrolla that can fly. Herb's perception skills, pokemon knowledge, context clues in general, and other things will hopefully come into play to avoid completely unfair, unforeseeable bullshit, but expect more bullshit from more advanced trainers.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Roserade)
Dice (Croconaw)
Sorbet (Vulpix)

Location: Akaneki, camping outside the Fighting Temple. Also in a dreamscape inside of Hana

There’s so much you want to see here, but for some reason, you feel drawn towards the morgue. You ask Janitor Hana about it, and she reluctantly fingers her keys before pushing her cart. “Your choice.”

“It’s okay.” The younger Hana says with a bright smile. She pushes her wheelchair right behind you. “I haven’t seen my family for awhile.”

“More than that in there.” Janitor-Hana says as she pushes the cart along. “You’ll see soon enough.”

You and the young wheelchair-bound Hana follow her down the hallway until you reach a special, dilapidated elevator that you hadn’t noticed earlier. You enter with a little trepidation, but also a burst of determination. It’s odd, but the young Hana and yourself both seem to be pretty in sync right now. You wonder if that’s a reflection on you being too naive and optimistic that you relate to someone younger like that, or if it’s more to do with Hana’s views of herself and her past. Or maybe just a coincidence. This is a little spooky, even if you don’t necessarily feel spooked.

The elevator goes down for what feels like a long, long time, reaching depths you aren’t sure are realistic. Instead of opening with a nice polite ding, you get a loud metal banging noise as it settles into place at your destination.

“Morgue.” Janitor-Hana announces.

You and young-Hana peer out. It’s pitch dark. There is no sound coming from outside of the elevator.

“Kind of scary, huh?” Young-Hana gives that awkward little half-smile that you’ve come to know so well.

“Yeah, the light switch is over on the far end.” Janitor-Hana says. “One of the reasons I don’t come down here much.” Her tone makes it sound like that’s not really one of the reasons she cares about.

The younger girl in the wheelchair braces herself. “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” She quotes before taking a deep breath, and starting to wheel out.

>Wait. You’ll go get the light. They can stay here
>Help push her along. Be there with her
>Try to summon a lightsource. This isn’t real, after all

You concentrate deep and hard, trying to summon a light source. Something you can rely on in the dark. You relax, inhale, exhale, and when you open your eyes, you find the crystal that Jeanine had given you is in your hand. With a quick little mental push, it lights up and emits a bright warm light. You feel like you’ve gotten just a tiny bit better at aura control.

“Huh. That’s pretty awesome.” Janitor-Hana says.

“Wow.” The young Hana says. “You’re magic! Awesome! I knew there was something special about you.” She hums a little song about her future boyfriend being magic while she wheels herself forward. You keep up and place your free hand on her chair just in case.

The room looks like a regular morgue. Not that you have much experience with morgues, but you’ve seen cop shows and movies and things like that. It’s a sterile looking room with metal boxes that you assume hold dead people.

Janitor-Hana waits by the elevator. You notice that in the other direction, there’s other sections of the morgue. The one beyond here is called the Hall of Dreams.

Wheelchair Hana reads the nameplates on each of the morgue boxes, looking for her family. But there are more boxes here than she anticipated. “Oh my Ar...” Her voice trails off. You don’t recognize most of them. But there’s one that jumps out at you when the young-Hana gasps. Ami. Hana’s best friend from the hospital. The one you remember her saying made her promise to go live a full life and experience as much as she can.

“Ami...” She says, tears welling up.

“Yeah.” The janitor-Hana says. “Life gets a lot worse after that.” She says from the elevator. “Come on. I’ll bring you back up. You probably shouldn’t be here. It’ll get uncomfortable.”

The young girl doesn’t say anything or move. A tear drops onto the cold tile floor.

>Suggest she say goodbye

Well crap, tonight’s going to be a rough night isn’t it... gonna need some distractionary butts to keep from crying.
>>
“I’m sorry.” You tell her, putting a hand on her shoulder.

“You never got to meet her.” She says. “She is... she was, the best. We played so many games together, and,” she sniffs, “and watched movies. But it was more than that. We stayed up all night chatting, and, and...” She trails off.

“Why don’t you say goodbye to her.” You suggest, hoping she’ll be able to process it better that way.

“Yeah. Okay.” She says, trying to open the sliding door. You help her, since her wheelchair makes it hard. The long metal platform rolls out with a young, sickly girl laying on it. She’s still, lifeless, but somehow, you sense a presence there.

“Hana! My girl! Living it up I hope!” The body doesn’t move at all, but the voice rings out loud.

“Umm, well, it looks like I’m doing pretty well in the future.” The wheelchair bound young girl says shyly as she looks back to you. “I’m going on adventures, right?”

You nod in confirmation.

“Way to be, Bobana. Keep it up!” Ami’s voice says cheerfully. “So hey, look. I know you’re sad. I know I was scared when I went out, but it’s alright. I wished I could go out there, so you’ve got to keep your promise. Live for both of us. Take some chances. Make your life your own movie. K?”

The young Hana sniffs. “K.”

“He’s cute!” Ami says. “Wish I had a chance to steal him from you.”

“Over my dead body!” The young Hana says in a fierce but friendly way. It’s the kind of aggressiveness you can have with a close friend.

“Looks like it was the other way around.” Ami laughs. “Anyway, you should get moving along. Getting all bummed on the past isn’t a way to live.”

And with that, Ami’s body is taken back into her box. There’s a long silence, and you feel your presence very slowly weaken here as time drags on.

“Come on.” You say encouragingly. “We’ll find your family.”

“Right! And umm, thanks. I hope I’m not always making everything about me when we’re dating.” She says with that Hana-like insecurity.

You wheel her along a little bit until she tells you to stop. “Here they are!” She says. “Umm, I'm not sure if we should open them, now. That was pretty draining. Just opening these is going to be hard."

You know you could lend her some support if she needs it, but it could take a bit of spiritual effort.

“I can help you, but I think it’s something you should do.” You tell her.

“Right. Okay.” She says, unsure. “Sorry. I never really know how to act about this sort of thing. Heh. Weird, right? Since I know a lot of dead people, apparently.”

“It’s fine.” You assure her. “I don’t really know either. I think you’ve just got to do what comes natural.”

“Right.” She nods. “I don’t know why I’m making this weird. It’s family.” She says, encouraging herself. “Let’s uh, open it up and give our respects.”

She braces herself, feels your hand on hers, and opens them all in quick succession.

But what greets you is absolute horror. Three mutilated, horrifying bodies. A young boy, burned and screaming. A man’s body missing his head. A women covered in blood, with several clearly fatal wounds, her eyes darting around in confusion and terror. The shock makes your vision and connection flicker and fizzle for a second. When you’re senses refocus, you hear the young Hana screaming in terror and panic.

The emotional stress is straining your connection here. It will take some effort just to stay.

Young Hana screams in horror. It’s bad enough for you, just for the shock and vivid detail of it all. But for her, seeing her family like this, well, you can’t imagine what that’s like.

You grab on tight, holding her in a supportive hug, and you put all of your concentration into calming her. When somebody is relaxed and calm, doing aura manipulation isn’t so bad. At least, it’s something you’re capable of. But her emotions are wild and spastic.

Still, there’s the very distinct advantage of being well connected in this ritual. You have a lot more inside access than you normally do. And because you’re close to Hana, you feel like you can work your way around her aura more skillfully. You let your feelings reach out and search for her rivers of calm energy, trying to redirect them while moving the panic and fear away to somewhere they aren’t going to get fed.

You just keep holding her tight, lending her as much help as you can. It takes a decent toll on your own energy, and you can almost feel your muscles strain in real life and know you're going to be a little sort tomorrow, but with some skill, time and reassuring words, you both slowly calm down long enough for her to push the sliding carts back in and get a hold of herself.

You come around to the other side of her wheelchair and hold her, letting her get the last little bit of crying out into your chest. You feel very drained, but you’re sure it’s worse for her.

“It’s the most vivid memory you have of them.” Janitor-Hana says from the elevator. “You were so young when it happened, so you don’t have a lot of memories of before that. But we remember that day pretty vividly.”

“Yeah. We do.” The younger one pants. Sweat drips off of her forehead. “I forgot. It’s been awhile.” She sniffs. “I always feel so guilty about not doing more to remember them, but this is what I always come back to.” She looks down.

“Can I do anything?” You ask, looking around. You feel helpless now.

“No.” She bumps her head into your chest again. “Sorry for that. I deserved that, but you didn’t. I can walk you out if you want.” She half smirks at her accidental joke. “Or you can keep looking around. I’ll help. It’s the least I can do.”

Your connection feels significantly weaker. It went from only a small pull away to a moderately strong one. You probably won’t have a chance to visit many other spots after this.

You’re not really sure how to proceed from here, but you decide to just keep the young Hana distracted. “Come on, let’s head back upstairs and see what’s going on there.” You tell her, having the titans in mind. Maybe when you get back up, they’ll be available to help out. You’ll see how things look up there.

“Hold my hand?” She asks.

You oblige. Janitor-Hana gives an approving smile. “So, I know you want to be a gym leader.”

She immediately perks up. “No way! I become a gym leader? Fucking aw-’ She catches herself and whispers. “Freaking awesome!”

“Uh, well, no. Not quite yet. I mean, you don’t really talk about it much anymore. And you sort of sounded like you already gave up on in.” Oh jeez, the look on her face when she hears you go on. Shut up! “But you could be. You’re a good trainer. We had a great double battle against a gym together.”

She squeezes your hand, still sniffling away the remaining tears. “Really?” Her smile lifts away some of the pull you’re increasingly feeling. “That’s something, I guess. I thought I’d be farther along though.” She quickly squeezes your hand again. “Not that you’re not a good catch. You’re um, actually pretty great.” She blushes.

You scratch your cheek, feeling a little strange. You know this is just a part of Hana and not real, but it still feels odd, to say the least. “Thanks.”

The elevator is taking it’s time going up.

“Sorry again about that, down there.” She says. “Hope that didn’t scare you off. I know from the other Hana’s that I have a lot more baggage floating around.”

“Not at all.” You assure her.

“Eh, kind of.” Janitor-Hana adds in. “I keep pretty busy. It’s messy around here. Clean this, clean that, distract myself with the old bean flick so I don't have to face any real issues. Distract myself with movies while I’m recovering between sessions. I have no idea how you can stand me. Don't get me wrong. I like me, but I don't know why you do.” She gives you a funny look. "I should probably be more proactive in keeping you."

Is it you, or is the elevator taking way longer than you suspected?

I honestly don't care about the sex dungeon. Hana is very honest about what she likes even if she embarrasses herself by being too honest.
>>
I worry that always commending Hana for being resilient and tough will discourage her from voicing her complaints. She’s tough, sure, but she shouldn’t have to be tough all the time. I don’t want to encourage her to just endure anytime she’s suffering, in big ways or small.

So, I’d rather have a different go-to compliment, like her emotional maturity/honesty/courage, or something.
>>
>>2734654
I personally find Hana's honesty to be a very attractive quality.
>>
“That’s it, Hana!” You feel yourself get a little heated. “Stop it! You’re always down on yourself.”

She looks surprised, eager to see where this is going, and also worried about where this is going. “Sorry.”

“No. Don’t apologize.” You say in empathy more than frustration. “I’m not scared away by your baggage. I admire you. I admire how strong you are and how resilient you are. You’re amazing, Hana. If anything, I don’t know how you deal with all the trouble I bring.”

“Trouble? You bring adventure.” She says with some eagerness, despite also being shrouded in a big old parka of worry and insecurity. “If I didn’t have you, I’d probably would have been way too shy to go with the others, gotten lonely and scared out on my journey, given up and watched movies or played games all day to forget how I let Ami down.”

“I think you're stronger than that.” You tell her. “You’re so strong, Hana.”

“I guess I am!” She says with some frustration, which surprises you. “But maybe I’m sick of needing to be. I don’t know! I don’t want all this stuff to define me but what am I doing to have something else that I’m all about? I want to be more like you. You’ve got so much going on.”

The elevator feels like it’s at a dead stop now. “I...wait, is this broken?”

The lights dim a little, and the younger-Hana clings to your side.

“Looks like.” Janitor-Hana says. “It gets that way sometimes. Guess uh, you’re stick here with me for a bit longer.” She says. You feel the pull trying to bring you away from Hana as your time here is running short, but at the same time, it feels slowed and restrained. It’s like water very slowly going down a drain with a clog in it.

You’re all silent for a moment, waiting to see if it starts up again. Nothing happens.

“So.” Janitor-Hana says. “You uh, probably know how I like to spend my idle time. Want to do some stuff to forget about what just happened?” She does her little coy approach to you and gives you that eager look she sometimes gets, but you can also tell the mood isn’t really there and she’s still a bit distracted. "I should warn you; I'm one of the dirtier ones." She spiffs up her janitor outfit.

You look her up and down. “Honestly, I love the baggy overalls on you. We definitly need to try dressing up in real life. And I’m sure I’ll love them off of you, too.” She gets that look. The mood wasn’t there before, but it’s creeping onto her face. “But,” you motion your head to the girl behind you “young-you is right here...”

“I don’t mind.” The younger version says. “I’m not really me. I’m Hana’s general idea of herself at this age.”

“Yeah, she doesn’t mind.” Janitor-Hana agrees.

“I sort of do.” You tell her. “But hey, look, you mentioned you used to play games a lot. Maybe we could do that to pass the time.”

“I, uh, guess so.” Hana says. She’s a tiny bit disappointed, but the majority of that reaction was confusion. Somehow, magically, the janitor-Hana produces a videogame console and small television. “We’re going from memory here, since, you know, it’s not real. But I’ve played it enough times to know it inside and out.”

“Is it multiplayer?” You ask.

“Coop.” She says. It’s some sort of pokemon adventure game. “Although I’ve always had this fantasy where me and a boy next door would play video games competitively, and make increasingly outrageous bets about what the loser has to do. And then the bets get riskier and lewder....and...” She coughs. “Heh. Sorry.” She says as she starts it up.

“Ami and I love this one.” Her younger self says. “Loved.”

The three of you sit down and play for awhile. You’re not very good at first, but the two girls know all the secrets and tips and help keep you alive as you rush through the first couple levels. You share some laughs and excitement as you reach the boss, and the Hana’s absolutely destroy it using power-ups from a secret area they showed you earlier.

“Watch out! He explodes after you beat him!” Hana yells. You don’t heed her warning in time and take a bunch of damage, but everyone just laughs because the physics engine makes your character go flying in a funny way.

Just then, the hatch on the elevator roof opens up and something drops down. It’s the cool older Hana she fantasized about being one day! Her fishnet leggings, long jacket, and short skirt hang cooly as she blows a bubblegum bubble. “Hey dorks. Stuck?”

“Yeah.” Young Hana says, looking up in awe.

“No problem.” Cool Hana gives the elevator console a quick smack. And like magic, it starts up again. “Cool vibes fix everything. It’s your nervous attitude that scrunches everything up. You’ve got to learn to relax.” She says.

“Heh, well, maybe one day.” Janitor-Hana says, also sort of in awe.

“Welp, looks like your boy-toy here is fading. One last chance for whatever it is you’re going to do.”

You look at your hands. You are fizzling a bit.

>Summon the titans

Maybe zap them with a shrink ray? Push power into young Hana to make her bigger? Something, I dunno.
>>
“I think it’s time for me to get going.” You say as the aura pulls you away. You sort of regret not seeing more of the place, but you've gotten to know Hana a lot more, and being such an honest person, you’re sure you’ll be able to ask or visit again.

“Yeah, you’re starting to look like me.” The cool Hana jokes. You look down and notice your legs phase in and out. She winks and pops a gum bubble when you look back up. Hana’s idea of cool reminds you a little of Polu.

“Hey.” The younger Hana says, pulling your head down. You’re shocked to feel a quick kiss on your lips. “There. That’s a way better first kiss.” She says. Despite her tone, she looks like she really had to push herself to do that and she can’t quite make eye contact again. “I wasn’t always so lewd, you know.”

Janitor Hana leans in and gives you a nice soft hug. She whispers into your ear. “Thanks. Next time I’ll give you a proper tour. If that didn’t scare you off, nothing will, so I guess you’re stuck with me.”

“You’re the one stuck with me.” You let yourself get a little playful on her. The last thing you see before you’re pulled away is her shy smile as she brushes the hair out of her face.

You’re being flung hard into the ether now, your aura is home back in on your own body. It seems like you’ve gone as far as you comfortably can without draining much aura energy. Your sense search around to get your bearings. You feel Keira, Hana, yourself, and just barely, Laki. Her aura isn’t weakened or harmed, and she’s not physically distant, but she feels like she’s hiding herself. Your guess is that it’s not intentional, since she doesn’t have any aura practice that you know of. It’d take a strong effort to push yourself towards her and find a way in. Maybe she’d let you in when she sees it’s you knocking at the door, though.

You push yourself towards Laki, expending a bit of energy to do so. Luckily you’ve been taking it easy and have rested up recently, but you’re expecting that at the end of this, if you spend as much time there as you have with the others, you might end up pretty drained by the end of it all.

You’re aura is like a liquid, and the four of your hold hands are like a big bowl. If you tilt just right, you can pour right into her.

Or in this case, against her. You expected to find an open cup in which you’d pour into, but instead it’s aimed slightly away so you mostly splash against her.

There’s a strange energy coming from her. She’s....nervous? Shy? It’s hard to tell. But she’s guarded for sure. You can’t exchange words, but you do notice she does sort of loosen slightly as she feels your presence. But only a little.

How do you convince her to open up without words? In this weird special status, you can only communicate in vague feelings and symbols.

You wonder if she even let herself pour out. Maybe she got scared and resisted the natural flow?

>You have enough skill to slide yourself in between the cracks
>Try to coax some of her aura out so there’s more room. It’s fine out here

You do your best to radiate the warm, fuzzy feelings you have about Laki. You push that feeling out loud and proud, letting the rays of your affection coat the room. But nothing happens. As you do that and continue the effort for some time, you begin to believe it’s not getting through to her at all, and that hurts.

Soon though, like a scared animal, you feel her slowly, cautiously open up. Suddenly she reaches out and yanks you in with force.

You feel yourself warm up, like that nice feeling of putting on slightly warm clothes right out of the dryer on a cold day. It was cold out there. You’re thankful to have been taken inside.

“Soft Hands.” A hand reaches down. Rather than lift you up those, you feel a familar presence from down to your level and join you on the sand.

Sand! You’re on a beach! There are nice calm waves lazily coming in and out, a warm calm breeze, and some soft clouds floating in the sky. The presence pulls snuggles against you. “You never give up, do you?”

[I’m afraid that’s it for tonight. We’ll be running again this week, possibly Tuesday, but I have to confirm a few things. I appreciate everyone’s patience while I’m slow and grogged out. If there are any requests for anything from the bin about the others visiting Herb, please don't be shy!]

Not requests, but ideas for Herbs mind.

The Hero: the reckless part of Herb that won't stand for injustice and leaps in to save the day. Is a bit overconfident because it seems to always work.

The Beast: Herbs sexuality. Used to be locked in one of the daycare cages, but the guard fell asleep when Herb got drunk and it got out. It's back in now, but the cage isn't locked anymore and the guard hasn't figured that out yet.

Ah fuck.

While Keira or Laki poke around in our head, they might see our memories of communing directly, and secretly, with their god.
>>
>>2742939
We agreed not to tell, not that they couldn't find out for themselves.
Besides, didn't this already happen with the Psychic back when we drank that shit and tripped out hard in the temple? There was just a gap in our memories during when we were contacted or something?
>>
>>2743030
We just said we had a dream where we served Fug pancakes and literally none of the priests, except maybe Keira, believed that shit happened for real. I think everyone just considered it a weird part of his spirit journey.
>>
>>2743316
I was thinking that you might see something moving in the clouds above the daycare but that's about it. It really isn't something we've been thinking about a whole lot lately but it's definitely still there.
>>
I wonder if Keira will deal with that whole rape thing she did to herb again while digging around. maybe she finds out Herb felt awkward but secretly super turned on about the whole thing
>>
>>2743966
>everyone’s touring Herb together
>Find the time he got molested
Hana: “you too, huh?”
>>
>>2744363
It would be interesting to see how she would deal with Keira after seeing that. Or was a pretty traumatic thing for Hana and I don't think she'd take it as lightly as Herb has.
>>
>>2743966
She never raped him, I can't believe people still do this. At worse, she molested him, but you guys always blow it out of proportion.
>>
>>2744442
Molestation isn't really better to be fair. It's like saying that they didn't beat him, just knocked him out once. Still not a good look.
>>
>>2744456
I don't even think she molested him, I'm just saying that's the worst you could accuse her of and that nothing like rape happened. They both consented to sleep together. Keira basically was just masturbating.
>>
>>2744494
That's textbook molestation. She was grinding on his dick while he was asleep. Unfortunately it's not seen as a big deal because Herb is a dude. If the roles were reversed no one would be talking to Herb still.
>>
>>2744526
Herb put his erection against her in her sleep and she was overwhelmed with teenage hormones and ground on it. No court of law would convict her.
>>
>>2744526
It was a big deal, and it continues to be a big deal. Keira was torturing herself over that moment of weakness for weeks. Herb and her cried super hard when she told him and it took a long time (for Herb) till he could forgive her.
>>
Keira didn't really understand what she was doing as she'd been sheltered by her temple for her entire life and practically forbidden from being around dudes.

She understands what she did was wrong and felt remorse and regret over it. She asked for Herb's forgiveness and he gave it, they're both willing to move on past this if not forget it.

It doesn't make what she did not wrong, but context matters and I feel that at this point it's a little past trying to dig it up when we've fucked Hana and Laki in front of her several times.

I agree that its overreacting but if we took it out of the context of a lewd quest what she did was very much molestation.

Also in a dreamscape inside of Laki.

Sand! You’re on a beach! There are nice calm waves lazily coming in and out, a warm calm breeze, and some soft clouds floating in the sky. The presence pulls snuggles against you. “You never give up, do you?”

“Well, I uh...” Your sentence trails off as you look around, taking it all in. The beach is peaceful and nice, with a warm, pleasant wind and calm small waves gently breaking against sand and smooth rock.

Out to sea, off in the distance, is a raging storm. Waves smash chaotically against each other in a way you don’t think is possible in real life.

In another direction are islands. No wait, they all connect by very shallow lagoons. Probably only a few feet deep and their lowest. All the islands here are connected that way. The closest one is a deep, thick jungle. You can just barely see tribal decorations that look like warnings not to set foot there. Paint showing sharp-edged art, pointed sticks decorated in feathers and strings of bones, and some rocks shaped like a skull. You can’t see what’s on the other islands from here.

You glance back at Laki, but now she has some light face paint on and a nice little hat to block the sun. She’s wearing a full-body swimsuit that still shows the general shapliness of her figure.

“So, this is me.” Laki says, turning away to look out at the sea as if she’s assessing the weather. Her voice is chipper and friendly. “You look like you were expecting something else.”

>Ask for a tour
>>
You spend another few seconds taking it in.

“No need to stare.” Laki jokes, but there’s also a little defensiveness.

“Oh, heh, sorry. I’m just getting my bearings.”

She lightly punches you in the arm. “Relax, Soft Hands. I let you in, eventually. I trust you in here.” She rubs her arm.

“About that.” You gently broach the subject. “Why were you so closed off before?”

She looks around and drops some sunglasses over her eyes because of the sunlight. She sighs. “I was worried about what would happen. I sort of still am.”

“But, you just said you trusted me.” Your tone is purely concern and confusion.

“I do. I don’t trust me.” She says as she tests the wind with some sand.

“But, you wouldn’t hurt me.” You say.

Laki just returns a funny look. A look full of admiration and fondness, but with a touch of sadness and doubt behind it as well.

“So um, can I have a tour?”

She smirks. “Thought you’d never ask. Come on.” She grabs you by the wrist. “But remember to do what I say and be careful, okay? I can be a little...intense sometimes.”

You nod at the warning, but it’s hard to be that worried with her so close. “Have you visited anyone else?” You ask.

She shrugs. “I don’t know. I had some vague feelings here and there, but I think that conscious part of me is still out there looking around. It hasn’t splashed back.. I don’t really know how this works. Not really what I’m good at.” She flexes her arm a little. “There they are.” She says as she pulls out a few sticks from behind a rock. “We can use these to push a boat from here to the next island.”

“Why not just walk?” You ask, looking at the shallow water between the islands. The water would come up to your knees at most.

“Too much in the water makes it chaotic.” She says. “Here. I’ll show you, just stay behind me where it’s safe.” She says, lifting an impossibly heavy boulder and tossing it way out into the sea. It lands with a big splunk.

“Wow.”

“Keep watching.” She says.

Suddenly the waves in that area go crazy. As if the sea were coming to life and angry, it creates huge tall waves that go way high into the air and crash down at that spot, attacking it.

(continue)
>>
>>2748786
Laki looks ashamed but also proud. “Look at how strong that is. That could rip apart a battleship.” She hands you a stick and starts pushing a small dingy into the water over the sand bar. “Close to the beach is fine, but keep yourself in the boat and only push with the sticks. They’re small enough that they only make small reactions.” She says as she lifts you and places you in the boat like a small child. She pushes the boat out and starts navigating with her stick in the water and sand. A few seconds after each movement, there’s a tiny reaction from the water as it crashes around on that spot. It’s just a small, cute splashing, really.

Laki grabs your hand. “Don’t let it scare you. I’ll protect you.”

Judging by how the water splashes, you could walk through it and only get really wet, if it’s proportionate.

>Thanks

I think it might have been mentioned but for the darker side of things we could have Herb's mom asking/stealing money from one of the Herb's then putting it in a slot machine or something. His dad could be trying to get out one of the doors but has Herb and his younger brother on his legs like weights.
>>
“Thanks.” You say in an appreciative tone before you lean in and give her a kiss on the cheek.

She squeezes your hand. “No problem, Soft Hands. You just keep being cute, and I’ll handle the rest.”

Before you can respond to that, you arrive at the next, very close island. The one with the thick jungle and warning signs. A small bolo immediately flies from the bush at you, but Laki catches it with ease and sighs.

“What’s that?” You try to look at it as she tosses it over her shoulder casually.

“Hunters.” She says. “I didn't think they’d come for you so fast. Don’t worry, they’re harmless as long as I’m around.”

A tiny dart flies from the bushes this time, but Laki catches it. Again, without that much effort. “See? Easy.”

“But, why are they hunting me?”

She looks hesitant. “That’s not really important. This island is just in the way to the other ones. Don’t let it scare you. You’re not in any danger. Even if they could get past me, trust me, you’ll be scared way but fine.”

There she goes with things being scary again. While it’s not exactly calming to be hunted, you can see Laki clearly can stop anything from getting to you. Why does she keep coming back to that?

“Laki, what’s hunting me?”

She drags you along faster. “It’s fine. You’re safe. Don’t be scared away.”

“Laki, I just want to know why I’m being hunted inside your aura. I think I deserve to know.” You stop letting her drag you, although you know that if she wanted to, you couldn’t do anything about it.

A net flies from the bushes. Laki steps out in front, catches it, and rips it in half in one swift, frustrated motion. “Fine. Stay here.” She heads into the tropical treeline.

You do as you’re told, not having enough time to consider much else. There’s rustling and movement in the dense jungle, and in no time at all, The Laki that is your guide comes out, holding a kicking, struggling, smaller Laki with heavy amazon facepaint and tribal wear.

“Putababyinmelet’sstartafamily!” It says, keeping it’s eye’s firmly on you and struggling in vain to get loose.

“It’s actually pretty great in there.” Laki says, embarrassed. “Behind the bushes is my house, my family, and a lot of nice memories. But these ones can get the drop on you if you go in.” She says, tossing it back with one hand. It lands on the sand on its feet, get’s it’s balance, and comes running at you again. It leaps, but Laki catches it "This one’s mindless. She just wants to expand the family without thinking.”

“Givemebabiesnow.” It says while the strong Laki hold’s it back.

>Oh. Okay.

There's multiple kitchens. There's one with Herb just cooking by himself, one with Herb and gobble, one with Herb and his grandpa, one with his brother, one with his friends, one with the girls, and one with kids that look like her and Hana.

Herb's subconscious is just a series of kitchens with Herb cooking with various partners. The quality of Herb's relationship, confidence in the relationship, type of relationship, strength of the relationship, all determine the size, cleanliness, layout and how well stocked the kitchen is.

A bully from his childhood would be the cruel head chef of a greasy hole in the wall kitchen with water damage on the walls, stains on the floors and rusted pots and pans.
The kitchen of herbs relationship with gobble is set up with ease of access for both of them, where they can work in synch. It's not a high class restauraumt, but more like a high quality family restaurant where things are focused but relaxed.

“Wifemeandgivemeasmanybabiesaspossible.” She says as Laki holds her with one hand. “I’llbeniceormeanorwhateveryouneedjustfathermychildrenpleasepleaseplease-”

The strong Laki covers her mouth, avoiding eye contact. “Yeah, don’t mind her. I’m the strongest by a longshot. She’s under control.”

“It’s fine. I’m not scared. And it’s nothing to be ashamed of. I think it’s kind of cute, actually.”

The strong Laki loses focus for a moment, allowing the baby-crazy Laki to get lose and tackle you. “IloveyouIloveyouIloveyougivemechildrenIloveyouI’llbeagoodmompleaseIloveyouIhavesomuchlovetogiveplease.” She starts fiddling with your belt as she covers you in kisses. But the weight of her vanishes when the strong Laki picks her up again.

“I lost focus for a second.” The strong, tough Laki says, looking a tiny but less strong than a minute ago. “It won’t happen again.”

“It’s alright.” You try not to sound amused at how embarassed the big strong one is and how eager the baby-wanting Laki is. “In fact, I’d like to see inside, if that’s alright.”

That fills the other Laki full of energy, but there’s no risk of her getting loose from the strong one’s grip again. The strong Laki thinks for a moment. “Well, you didn’t give up when you were trying to get in. Come on, stay close.”

(continued)
>>
>>2749263
We already did a bit of that when we were drunk. We should probably talk to her about it again though. Let her know we're absolutely love to start a family but we want to be able to provide for them, and we don't want to tie her down if she changes her mind before we finish our journey. Maybe take to the girls about our future plans, like cleaning up that island and starting our own nursery and such.
>>
>>2749284
She grabs your hand and drags you into the bushes. All you see for a bit are leafs and branches before you're suddenly in her living room. It looks a little different. The carpet is shag, the furniture is arranged differently from what you remember, but the family members are all there. Her mom, a woman you recognize as her older brother’s mom from the way her aura feels, although you can’t see a strong visual of her besides a blurry outline, her brothers, her dad, a bunch of other blurry outlines you feel are extended family members. But there’s also a young Laki there too. They’re celebrating some sort of gift-focused holiday.

“The winter equinox.” Laki says. “If it’s not that, it’s a birthday, or just a family barbeque, or right after a wedding, or a funeral, or just because someone’s in town.” She rolls her wrist listing off all the possibilities.

“Morefamily!” the held Laki says as she makes another fruitless attempt at you.

“It’s nice, but we should get moving if we want to accomplish anything.” The strong Laki says. “Stay too long and it’ll draw you in. You’ll never want to leave.” You spot a pole, jersey, and other training equipment collecting dust in the corner.

Laki’s mom pats a spot on the couch for you. “Oh, a new family member.” Everyone cheers for a second and invites you to sit before they go back to happily socializing and laughing.

Nah, it can't be ALL kitchens. There's also Grandpa's place, a thrift store full of bits and pieces an outfit could be assembled from, the closet we played with Hana in (containing Herb's libedo, who's swiftly outgrowing the tiny space available), and of course the doorway Mom would leave through when she went to go gambling with Herb's college fund.

I pictured it as being Grandpa's daycare with a house attached and plenty of firepits and campgrounds around the outside.
Maybe instead of a bunch of kitchens on the inside, it changes every time you see it. Any time someone gets to a darker area or something Herb would other hidden the other Herb's lead you back to the kitchen or a campfire and the type of Herb cooking and the crew around change.
>>
>>2749295
Hana's is a closet, but there's a stove and a mini fridge installed in the wall and instead of shorts and coats, the hangars have cooking utensils. The fridge is stocked mostly with foods that are considered romantic, or can be used in foreplay.

Grandpa's is his actual kitchen, but more idealized, but the food is done cooking and is sitting out to cool. Grandpa has nothing but pride and compliments for the herb of that kitchen, but the herb of that kitchen always looks nervous or guilty, like maybe he forgot something, or did something wrong but doesn't know what, or how to fix it.

In all of the kitchens, the food being cooked is the relationship. That's why grandpa's is finished.
>>
>>2749342
>That's why grandpa's is finished.
Hit me in the feels with this line, anon.
>>
>>2749342
I really think you're taking the cooking thing too far. It's a big part of what Herb is and does, but it's not so all-encompassing that every single aspect of our aura needs to harp on that same theme.
>>
>>2749342
It kind of sad that both Herb and Hana lost their best friends. Herb's lost his Grandpa and Hana lost Amy.
>>
>>2749294
>>Cook them something nice
>>This is the cutest most adorable most heartwarming thing you’ve ever seen
>>
>>2749353
I don't think I agree, Anon. Herb really believes that food is the center of relationships. He believes that good food can be used to overcome any challenge. He basically said as much at the Fighting Temple. It's just the changing nature of one room, it's not like the other Anon was suggesting that it would be every aspect of Herb's aura
>>
>>2749365
>it's not like the other Anon was suggesting that it would be every aspect of Herb's aura

>>2749279
>Herb's subconscious is just a series of kitchens

That's exactly what he said, actually.
>>
>>2749371
I definitely didn't sound that way with the second post. I would be cool with the shifting kitchen as one room of the house, but I like the idea of the rest of Grandpa's day care, and that fire pit out side that one anon mentioned a thread or two back.

i think there are some good ideas here, >>2749342
No reason to throw it out.
>>
>>2749378
I'm not saying to toss every aspect of the idea, just to stop hyperfocusing on kitchens. The closet full of utensils, for example, makes no sense. That experience had nothing to do with food, and "food that can be used in foreplay"? Herb hasn't even considered the possibility that we know of, never mind established it as part of his mental landscape. Stretching the food theme all the way over to Herb's libedo is just that: stretching.
>>
>>2749403
I trust Gooble to weave something together that's good. So I don't think there is anything to fear, my anon.
>>
>>2749408
Oh, I never had a concern about how Gobble would handle it. I know he'll do something good. I was just spitballing with the other anon to kill time.

“It’s nice, but too much time here makes you soft and unfocused.” The tough Laki says, relaxing a little.

You just watch for a moment, taking in all the details. The laughter, the warm, comfortable feeling of it all, the smells of nice food and the playfulness of the kids in the family. Laki has more cousins and relatives than you had realized. The warm sunliight breaking into the windows and the pokemon playing with everyone or napping against each other after getting tired out or the parents sharing knowing looks when the children say something silly. It’s all so...wonderful.

“This is the cutest, most adorable, most heartwarming thing I’ve ever seen.”

The tough strong Laki, who has been watching your reaction more than she’s been watching the family, gets flustered. “H-Hey now, that sort of talk can be-”

She’s suddenly shoved over the front door, which is quickly locked with a deadbolt by the baby-crazy Laki who turns to you. “Morefamilynow!” She spreads her arms to catch you in case you’re thinking of trying to get to the door. Her wide, crazy eyes and smile make you feel very helpless.

“More family!” Laki’s dad says in a toast that the rest of the family cheers for. They all clank some glasses and go back to having a wonderful time, ignoring whatever is going on with you and this Laki.

“I don’t know if the other Laki is okay with that.”

“ShescaredofrejectionYourconsentisn’tafactoranymorewe’vewaitedtoolong. The strong Laki pounds on the door. “Don’t scare him!”

You slowly circle away as she circle’s closer. She doesn't let you maneuver closer to the door, though, but she does slowly close the gap between you to almost within lunging range. “I'm not scared but there's a time and place for these things and I want what's best for you, Hana, and any kids we have.”

“What’sbestforusisfamily.” She shakes herself, slowing down a little. “Hana needs family. I want more family. You need more family.” She does a feinting grab at you. “Put babies in me. Figure out how to put babies in Hana. Put them in Keira too or even Abigail! The more the merrier for loved ones. I want more family, and I know that you get what you want by taking it.” She advances on you.

“DON’T! TELL! HIM! THAT!” The strong Laki kicks on the door. You hear it crack and splinter, but it hasn’t broken yet. “Soft Hands is for protecting!”

“It will happen in time.” You say, backing up. “Being desperate for it is kind of dumb. Do you really want to have kids and not have any great mom tales to tell them? Because you are scary good at anything you apply yourself to Laki.”

“I’llbegoodatcarryingyourchildren.” She says, leaping a foot forward and cornering you, big, wide eyes watching your every twitch for a chance to strike. “fillmewithyourloveIneedit!” She dashes forward and grabs you by the collar firmly, pinning you to the wall. “Seed. Me. Now.”

Somehow, way back in the physical realm, you swear you felt your body react to that. But your heart feels a little ignored. You still give her a deep, heavy kiss though. And that blunts her assault for a moment, making her melt under your sudden embrace. But she still doesn’t stop. She just works your belt until you break the kiss. “Laki, this behavior isn’t as cute.”

The door explodes open, and the big, strong Laki grabs this one by the scruff and throws her back. “That was not acceptable!” She yells, eyes full of fury and rage.

“Youwantitthat’swhyIexistpleasejuststoptakingbirthcontrolandstartnowwhilewe’reyoungandhealthyIwanthisbabiessobadsooooobaaad!”

The two stare down each other. The intensity of the situation has tired you out more than you realized, too.

The family begins to finally notice as the hostility between the two sides grows into a red, angry haze. You see the sea being to crash onto itself through the window.

“Would you two stop it?” You say, unwisely putting yourself between the two.

“Soft Hands is precious and his smile needs to be protected.”

“Hissmilemakesmeovulatelet’sstartmakingbabies.”

You’d be lying if you said this wasn’t doing wonders for your self-esteem.

“Laki! And...Also Laki!” You say again. “I love you. But you know I’m not helpless” You hope she knows that. You hope you know that. “I appreciate the protection, but I can handle myself too.”

The strong Laki looks down for a moment, and the baby-obsessed one’s smile grows bigger.

“But you both need to calm down.” You turn to the baby one. “You know I’m family oriented too.” You tell her. “But we can wait a little bit. It’ll happen eventually. you're super healthy and strong. As long as you stay fit you could probably carry a child into her sixties.” You say in exhausted exasperation. “So stop fighting. You’ll get babies and you’ll have more family to protect and provide for. But in time, not now. Just please, trust me. I love you, Laki. All of you.”

They both look at each other, and come to a wordless truce. For now.

“I’m still stronger.” The big one says. “Alright. Come on, Soft Hands. Let’s continue the tour.” She takes you by the wrist and starts to guide you away.

“You’re not coming too?” You ask the other one.

She leans in and smiles. “She’s stronger but I’m smarter. I’ll save my strength and see you later tonight in the real world.” She moves back into the family gathering, losing her crazy eyes and having a genuinely wholesome time among the family.

The strong Laki leads you to the edge of the island, keeping her eyes peeled and watching the waves. “Good, they’ve calmed down. Now’s a good time to move.” She gets the boat ready. “If you’re still up for seeing the rest.”

You won’t deny that you’re feeling the pull fairly strongly now. You’ll be straining yourself if you run into any more trouble.

“Let’s keep going.” You tell her.

“You’re pushing yourself.” She says, with an odd sense of approval, but also not approval. “You should rely on me more. I can carry some of that weight.” She says, physically picking you up and placing you in the boat. “But I understand why you don’t.”

You’re not sure if you entirely agree with that premise, but you let her continue.

“You need to be in control of your own fate. I understand that.” She says. “I wish I had the same courage.” Again, before you can ask, you arrive at the next island. Laki’s navigation skills got you there in the blink of an eye.

An ear-piercing whistle grabs your attention. “Come on, you’re not going to nap in that boat all day, are you? Ha! I’m just joshing you.”

You turn to see a coach in a tracksuit with a whistle.

“Coach Telki!” Laki says, running up to him.

“Laki!” He says back. “And a new recruit! Skinny, but maybe there’s potential there. Come on, let's talk about our goals over some ice cream.”

The strong Laki sighs, but follows. The coach leads you to a small park bench and produces two ice cream sandwiches.

“Maybe we could get to training.” Laki says.

“Always eager.” He smiles. “That’s good. And we will. But first, relax. Get in the right headspace. It’s not about winning or losing, it’s about enjoying the game. After all, the games are months away. There’s plenty of time.”

Laki looks a little angry now. You can see the waves start to rumble again.

When you turn your head back from looking at the waves, the coach is gone, the ice cream is gone, and there’s Laki, training her pokemon with gusto. Wailord, Chatot, Meowth, Bergmite, and...Belladonna? Each of the pokemon has a little armband or patch or insignia of the Loanan region’s flag, as if they represent it.

“Where did the coach go?”

“Wrong question.” She says as she tosses a log into the air and Bergmite blasts it with ice. “Where was he when I needed pushing? Keep that hussle up, Bergmite. Chatot! Ten more laps, twice as fast! Let’s go!”

The picture becomes clearer now. You heard her mention a coach and him giving her a few proverbs, but didn’t see any pictures or hear her talk about where he is now. She must blame him for being too easy on her before the games.

>So he didn’t push a teenage Laki to the breaking point. You can’t fault him for that.

Huh. If Laki actually made it at the games we never would have met, and if by some happenstance we did we would just be another notch on her belt. Also Jane wouldn't be nearly as driven. Hell the whole group might have not stayed in touch. Herb would have just left with his egg and no one would have followed to check on him since nothing would have happened to it. There would be no one to build Herb's confidence or inspire Hana to go for what she wanted in the closet.

But would she have followed Herb? If I recall the reason the rest of the crew went looking for him was due to Laki almost breaking his egg. Polu would still have probably stuck with Herb because he had an interest in the mainland and was already pretty friendly with us as soon as we got there. I think Kiera would have crossed paths with us or joined up later on but probably not right out the gate.

For what it's worth, there's a thread for sure Wednesday, rain or shine or anything else. For real this time. I'm really, really sorry.]

Also in a dreamscape inside of Laki

You spend some time preparing food for the pokemon, and giving them quick massages and encouragement, as well as the occasional economical dose of healing.

“Do you blame your coach for what happened?” You ask her as you pass back a fresh and eager Meowth, who shadow boxes to test it’s refreshed muscles. You put yourself into place to train along with them, and support them emotionally too.

She looks away for a moment. Her hard, strong back muscles settle back into a loose but ready position. She’s as powerful as a Gyarados. “Let me show you my answer.”

You train with Laki’s pokemon in solidarity. It’s hard work, and she pushes you further than you had any intention to go, but you sense a lot of pride and admiration from her, and it does stop short of cruel. But she does expect a lot. For a second you worry that she’s misjudged your willpower and ability if she thinks you can do all that. But then you feel foolish for not realizing it before. You let it sink in that it was you that misjudged yourself. She showed you how much power you could summon.

“Feels good, doesn’t it, Soft Hands? To know you can go farther? That you have more in you than you realized?”

It feels really, really good. She can read your answer on your face. You nod anyway, because you never like people to think you’re not listening or going to ignore them.

“Who would keep that from somebody unless they thought they couldn't handle it?” Laki says as a projection appears in the reflection in the nearby water. It shows the past, with her enjoying break times and very pampering treatments by her coach. Low expectations. She watches in anger.

You blink and shake your head. You suddenly don’t feel as drained. It feels as if all that strength was an illusion. It wasn’t real strength. Not enough to matter, anyway. Not enough to impress anyone.

“We should move on.” She says.

>Keep your strength for the next island and stay quiet and still
>Help push the boat

She was slacking just as much. Maybe he didn't push her because she wasn't taking it very seriously either. He's also at fault for not realizing that actually pushing her might have worked. It takes two to tango.

“Your coach misjudged you.” You put a hand on her tall shoulder. “You have a right to be angry.”

“Really?” You’ve never seen a face be angry and happy that way before. “You approve?”

“Approve?’

“Of me being angry. You always look so unhappy when I’m angry. Like nothing I ever feel is worth getting angry over. It’s maddening.”

Oh. You didn’t know that. But you also weren’t finished. “Laki.”

“Yeah?” She looks eagerly for something to smash. She produces a hefty stone, some vine rope, and a strong stick, and begins assembling it into a hammer to be used it cathartic smashing.

“Yes, but. Laki. Your coach wasn’t responsible for how you reacted at the games. That was you. Maybe you could have been pushed harder, but maybe that was because you weren’t taking it that seriously either. It takes both of you to stop pushing.”

You have never been more afraid of her as you are in this moment. She fumes, turning bright red. She’s hot. Actually, really hot. Fire bursts around her and the waves in the background crash and collide with great and sudden acceleration and force. They don’t work with any rhyme or reason, and just appear and smash together randomly, not caring about anything other than exerting violence on its surroundings.

She raises an arm to you.

>Stand still, don’t even blink. You know she won’t do it

She rages and smashes, destroying everything around you. Sand, beach trees, and the boat all explode around you. Laki is massive now, smashing her own hammer to bits by using it with force well beyond anything it could be asked to handle. She screams beyond any capabilities possible in the real world. And that, only by chance, destroys a wave that was about come crashing down on you. But more crash down all around. The ground shakes and thunder booms.

You wet, you’re covered half in sand, and you have to try to catch your balance for a second, but you’re not harmed. You knew she’d ne-

A splinter comes flying at your body. Your first instinct is to freeze up, but you send it back for a second opinion. The next instinct is a much better idea.

You move out of the way. It’s heavy, sharp edges swing over each other and tears through the air that filled the space you occupied.

Laki’s strength fades quickly, and she comes down, panting, and looking very sobered and ashamed. “I didn’t mean for that to happen” She reaches out to you, but decides against it. “You’re right.”

You feel fairly weak now. You still have a little oil in the pan but it’s drying up.

“I’m sorry I hurt your feelings.”

Laki’s eyes dart around a little. Her big strong muscles don’t fade, but she is clumsy and still a little destructive by accident. She lets her legs give up and allows her weighty, muscled bottom to smash into the overturned tree, causing a loose branch to fall off. “I wish you weren't. You were honest with me and I made you regret it.”

You begin to fade. You want to speak, but you’ve already decided to let yourself slip away.

“Leaving. No. I get it.” She says. “The tour was just about over anyway.”

You’re confused until you look where she’s looking. You see is an impossibly high wall off in the distance on the next, faraway island.

You can’t leave it there. You dig deep and push away any exhaustion and effort. You’re going to see the next island. You’re not done yet. With an effort that seems not so bad compared to what Laki demanded for training, you recenter yourself. “Tour.” You manage to say, trying do your best to just concentrate.

She feels warm. You open your eyes and realize she’s carrying you to the boat. It’s more of a raft now, but it still floats. The waters seem too weak to do anything harmful. They make such small swings at you as Laki pushes the half-submerged raft that it feels more like they’re waving.

This next island is unremarkable at first. A nice beach with mild sunlight, mild waves and medium waves. You see all your mutual friends there, and some people you’ve met on the journey. The pokemon too, of course. Laki takes you beyond them, saying it’s more important to finish the tour for you.

And you arrive, right at the gigantic, brick wall. It’s infinitely high, strong looking, and impossible to get past by the reports of all your senses. Eye-confusing rows of brick stretch from here to beyond your vision.

“If I make this wall strong enough, everything raw is going to eventually have no way to escape. No more anger issues. It sucks out there anyway.” She stretches “That’s the end of it. Thanks for sticking around for it. And... I know it doesn’t mean much, since it keeps happening, but I am sorry. I don’t know why I keep making the same mistakes. Why I can’t just grow up and out of it.” She turns to grab some construction gear and start adding a new layer of bricks to the wall. “But I think this will help. I’ll keep at it. I promise.”
>No. Don’t build up emotional barriers. This wall should be smashed, not built up even more

“Laki. Stop.” You approach and gently touch her wrist.

“Soft Hands, I’m trying to fix it.”

“This won’t fix anything. This is just an emotional barrier. You should be taking it apart, not building it up. You don’t have to do this,” you gesture to everything around. To life. “All by yourself. Hana and I are there for you. Always."

“I could hurt you. I could have hurt Belladonna, too.”

“It’d hurt for sure to have you hide away. There's a healthy way to express yourself” You tell her. That’s all you can get out as your voice fades. You see Laki look in confusion as your connection flickers out. But the worry on her face stops. She knows you’re not in danger. You wink out.

But you still half a tiny part of you that linkers back for just one last second. And that part see’s Laki look up at the wall appraisingly, and lifts her hammer up against her shoulder. What she plans to do after, you can’t confirm objectively.

You blink, and it’s all different.

Your senses come coldy and sharply aware of the world they exist in. The sounds of the night, the smell of the wood of the trees, and inside of that the smells of the girls in the same tent as you. The feeling of hands in your hands. The cold sweat on your brow. The strange feelings in your gut as if you’ve had a bunch of different people touching and prodding everything in your soul. The disorientation of the shift in consciousness. There are too many mixed emotions to process at the moment.

You gut the feeling around the table that the group feels the same way.

“Ahem.” Hana coughs. Everyone looks at her, and she makes a face clarifying that it was a real cough and not a way to get everyone’s attention.

Keira opens her mouth to say something, but doesn't. She’s surprisingly self-conscious at the moment.

Laki looks deeply lost in thought.

It’s hard to tell what the mood is, exactly. Gobble, looking concerned, looks up at you. Oh, and there’s a weight on your lap. Look, it’s Dice!
