You are Percy,a young Pokémaniac on his way to become an official trainer!

You are currently training for the last part of your test to become a licensed trainer

Your team consists of:

Houndour
Mimikyu
Whismur

Last time you aced the written part of the test, befriended some Pokémon at a shelter. Failed to get your first human friend, found a home for a stray Houndour pack, got a battling partner, screwed up cooking and got paid for talking to a shiny Bagon and it's douchey trainer

You can read the previous thread here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2752688/

The battling tournament is this saturday. Is currently wednesday morning

Another day at high school, everything seems a little better since you started lately.

Everybody is getting a little anxious since is school is finishing up, thankfully you finished most of your school projects beforehand so you could focus in Pokémon.

Today you will also be training with Eli at the Outskirts of town, but in the meantime, what will you do?

>The unofficial battles at the school training grounds have started to gather bigger crowds, check that out?

>Search for any rumors regarding Pokémon, it may be mostly gossip but rumors always have some truth to them

>Check announcements for the upcoming End of the school year parties, you've never been a social fellow, but you have been getting better at "human interaction"

>See if you can find your Pokéfriends, maybe we can all hang out after training, or maybe they would like to join in

Lets see if we can hear anything about the yellow king. I want to know if what we have done has shifted anything in how people view that part of town.
I also want to hear what a our pokémon think about the battles. What they would do if they were fighting. Try to figure out how they think a bit more and see if they already have good natural battle senses.

You make way towards the arena. It’s smaller than the ones at the Public training grounds, they seem to have received a lot of use this couple of days. A crowd draws near it, they are contemplating the latest match. Seems like Kali and her friends are also watching.
You can overhear talking from the spectators. You hear about the shiny Bagon sightings near the “Mega Poké-Mart Complex” and the ferocious trainer that claimed him. The horrific giant Electvire that lives in the abandoned factory and has calimed the lives of countless trainers. Besides the stuff you already know it comes to your attention the rumors about strange sightings at the abandoned Villa and unofficial caged matches organized at night near the slums.

Seems like the match just ended, a Sawk stands before a unconscious Nidoran. It seems like Swaks trainer has been taking challenges and remains undefeated. He’s getting cocky and it’s inviting anyone to take him on.

>You could take him (which Pokémon will you be using?)

>Let someone else do it, get more info on the rumors (which one?) or just watch the figh with your mons

You get inside the arena, confident in the advantage of a ghost type. This could be a good opportunity to show off these couple days of training.

[Sawk’s Trainer]: A ghost type? Kind of cheap don’t you think?

Percy: A trainer has to be ready for everything, you can change Pokémon if you want to

Percy: Hey dude, don’t you think Sawk should rest a little ?

[Sawk’s Trainer] What?

Percy: I know it’s none of my business how others battle, but I think Sawk deserves a little rest, he seems exhausted after all those other battles. I don’t think it would be good for him if he keeps this up

[Sawk’s Trainer]:… You are right. This is going nowhere. We give up, it’s your win

The trainer’s steps down calmly from the arena, Sawk follows, he seems worried to have disappointed his master, but he assures him he didn’t, what’s one lose after so many victories? The crowd is impressed with your Pokémon, he came out of the fight without getting any damage! You seem to have drawn the attention of even more people! Some of them even cheer for you! This feels good, you stand a moment receiving the crowd admiration until a voice snaps you back to reality.

Kali: Are you going to take more challengers? Cause I’m eager for a good fight

Wait, is she finally talking to us? What do?

Percy:… Sure, let’s do this. Houndour! You are up!
You Pokémon moves toward your side of the arena and get’s ready for battle, he has only sparred with Eli’s Pokémon during training, this will your first real battle together. He tells you he isn’t affected by fire type moves, in fact, he gets even stronger when they hit him. Seems like he has “Flash Fire” as his ability. This could prove useful.

Kali snaps her fingers, and from the crowd her Growlithe jumps toward the battlegrounds. He seems different than before. It doesn’t do any unnecessary movements, he doesn’t even blink! He just stands still waiting for a command. The Growlithe seems pretty tense. He doesn’t growl or bark, he just stares deeply into Houndour, occasionally sniffing to identify his essence. It’s a little unnerving for you and Houndour

>Growlithe “Intimidate” unnerves Houndour! This makes him more careful when attacking lowering the damage caused by his attacks.

How will you start?
What’s your battle approach?

Yeah, I decided to change to selecting approaches at the start of the battle, or during a switch.

Because there would be nothing stopping you,, or other trainers from changing their approach every turn and always getting a bonus for it.

This way selecting an approach has more weight during battle,

Even though Eli did that and you still kicked Jaw's ass
>>

>"Get out of there! Houndour! And use Smog!"

--Houndour let's go and does a fucking backflip while preparing his attack. Letting the purple ball of smoke out during midair and hitting Growlithe on the wounds of his neck.

The attack connects and purple smoke dissipates surrounding the Growlithe. He looks bad, pretty bad, the toxins got into him pretty damn fast thanks to cuts from Houndour's bites.--

>Growlithe is on his last legs! Even small damage will knock him out, his movements have also gotten more sloppy.

>Growlithe is poisoned! He will be taking damage every turn until cured

Growlithe just falls to the ground, the Poison has done him in, he lays there, breathing heavily.

>>
>>2785393
It is a battling tournament with the Pokémon trainers bring to it. One Pokémon is allowed to enter for each trainer.

Winning the tournament it's not necessary to pass this part of the exam. It was made to measure the abilities of trainers to command Pokémon during battles. If you can make the mon follow your orders you are going to approve, even if you lose.

Nevertheless, the tournament isn't meaningless

Pokémon Battles are a huge deal on the Aztlan Republic, Professional trainers are treated akin to Pro Sport players, they got people recording their progress, strengths and skills. Many of them are even sponsored. (It's not weird to see Professional Pokémon Battles where the mon is wearing some dumb hat with the "BlackStone" logo on it, that gets completely destroyed after 15 seconds of fighting.)

Placing high in the tournament could attract plenty of attention. Besides, the tournament offer some really good prices to the winner and runner-ups, to motivate trainers to try their best. Like Evo-stones, Attack boosting items, hard-cold-cash, all that good stuff

Percy: Hey, thanks for the match, that “Reversal” could have been bad news for Houndour if it hit. Growlithe was pretty good out there.

Kali´s expression soften slightly, she let’s a sigh and walks toward Growlithe, now sporting disappointing on her face. It’s is towards her or to her Pokémon? Maybe both.

Kali: But It didn’t, not even once… it’s still not enough… (Keli murmurs quietly)

Percy: Oh by the way, take this, for Growlithe

--Percy handed out one of his antidotes—

Kali: …Thanks Percy

>Percy is now acknowledged by his peers at school! Still kind of awkward when talking to people (with some exceptions)
Still, you feel some sort of chill down your spine. Amidst your classmate you can feel various glares directed towards you. Jealousy, anger, and something else, something that feels, almost dangerous…Maybe is just your imagination.

But enough of that! Your free time has ended, it’s time for the last classes of the day, and after that….

It’s now time to resume your training!
Let’s review our friends progress!

Both Houndour and Mimikyu have been getting more accustomed to battling, and have become faster, stronger, basically they have gotten an all-around boost to their battles capabilities but how much?

Also, Whismur has been focusing on raising her special attack! She definitely has made some progress, but…

Roll 3d20 to determine how the training has gone so far!
First roll is Houndour, Second Mimikyu, third one Whismur
Best of three

14: Houndour
13: Mimikyu (But also, that one...)
NAT 20: Whismur

Houndour’s training has come up nicely. He had some past battling experience so he always had a sense for fights, this “sense” has improved pretty good with all the sparring he is doing lately, besides, you can see that his attacks have started hitting harder, he’s gotten a little more resilient, and it’s even faster!
Good work Houndour

Whismur has really surprised you! She is been practicing her “Echoed Voice” a lot, you have been coaching her so she can rely more on it during battles, besides that, she’s been trying to amplify it’s power, trying to improve is vocal range, she has not only manage to make that attack even more devastating, she learned on her own to do “Screech” and “Supersonic”! If she refines her Vocal Range some more, she could learn “Uproar” or even “Hyper Voice”
>Whismur learned: Screech, Supersonic!

Mimikyu is also doing well, he mostly has improved his speed. But lately you’ve seen him a little lost in thought during training, and as soon training stops he goes back to your backpack to rest, you are not sure if something has been bothering him lately. This could affect its performance during training, and more importantly you are just worried about him

Will you continue with this kind of training? (Maximizing Gains)
Or will you switch it up? (For whom?)
>>
>>2789444
>This outcome will change Kali’s and her Pokémon performance at the tournament!
Good for Kali I guess, maybe not so great for us. Who do we need to watch out for do you all think? Rich Cunt’s Bagon seems like it’ll put up a fight, though I doubt their coordination as a team will be on point even if we’ve somewhat smoothed things out between them. Eli of course is going to be a big problem, since she’ll probably enter with that Totodile and we’ll be entering with Houndour. Kali’s Growlithe’s probably going to be even stronger for the tournament, and Reversal would be a big problem anyways. We should probably watch out for the kid with the Sawk as well, since we won’t have type advantage again if we fight him with Houndour.
>>
>>2789524
Focus on learning new moves for Houndour.
Try to teach Whismur Uproar and/or Hyper Voice.
Check in with Mimikyu and see what's up, he might need something more specific.
>>
>>2789524
>Switch Whismur over to battle experience
>Switch Houndour over to training a stat (Attack maybe?)
>Switch Mimikyu over to training a stat (Speed)
>Ask Mimikyu what’s up
Round them all out somewhat.
>>
>>2789532
Houndour and Houndoom are better special attackers, and Mimikyu focusing on speed even further isn't rounding it out any, it's doubling down.
>>
>>2789524
Nice to see we don't have a standard 4-move limit.

>>2789530
Maybe have Houndour learn Feint Attack? Not sure if it'll work the same way here as in-game but it could at least be a reliable hit for us. Then again, Fire Fang would be nice if we enter the tournament and go up against Sawk.

I think we should make Whismur stick with Echoed Voice for now and just increase Speed. Evade has been pretty good for us thus far and getting the counter hasn't been that hard.

What moves are available for us to learn exactly, OP?
>>
>>2789539
I meant less rounding out their stats and more the types of training they were doing. And yeah, Special Attack might be better then Attack for Houndour, wasn’t super sure what to pick for him. As far as Mimikyu goes, we may as well take advantage of the fact that he’s always going to be a small target, especially when all the Pokemon he eventually has to fight become way bigger then him.
>>
>>2789556
On your own you can help your Pokémon learn any move they would normally learn via a level up on the Gen7 games, other moves require a tutor or a TM

Moves that are learned by their evolutions, for example (Houndoom's ThunderFang) would be really hard to master at a previous evolution, but with a lot of hard work, and good rolls, it's doable
>>
>>2789584
>Houndoom's Thunderfang
Oh man I want to risk it just to see the look on Eli's face. I want to make sure, does Speed help for evade rolls?

Here's what I'm thinking so far:
>Houndour trains Special Attack
>Whismur trains Speed (if evade) or Defense (if not)
>Ask Mimikyu what's up before we start training him
>>
>>2789615
That's correct, speed helps in evade rolls
>>
>>2789615
I'll support this, to settle it I guess. Thinking Defense over Speed for Whismur though. Not sure how much it'd affect evasion and all that, but Loudred and Exploud are kind of...awkwardly proportioned, so it seems like they'd have more trouble evading then, say a Houndoom or Mimikyu. Also wearing down our opponent while not tiring yourself out and avoiding serious damage seems like it'd be better in some situations then just evading.
>>
>>2789667
>>2789615
>but Loudred and Exploud are kind of...awkwardly proportioned
Aw fuck, don't remind me that our cute little Whismur's gonna evolve and not be so cute anymore. But alright, I'll change over to train Whismur's defense. This'll help whenever evade fails anyway so it's still pretty good.
>>
>>2789615
>>2789667
>Raise Houndour Sp.Attack
>Raise MImikyu Speed
>Raise Whismur defense, when she evolves it would be harder for her to evade hit’s so building up resistance could be good

Today Eli’s looks pretty pumped, she’s been training harder and harder since she started. You congratulate Houndour and Whismur (Damn!) on their respective progress before going to Mimikyu, the Pokémon clearly looks spaced out, you just hope it isn’t nothing serious.

Percy:Mimikyu, are you alright? It seems like something is bothering you

Percy:Well, I´m not the best when it comes to human women, but I do know a lot about Pokémon, and by extension female Pokémon! So maybe I can help you out

Mimikyu: Then, please hear me master
“I heard her during the dead of the night. I worried it could be something dangerous to Master so I reared my head through the window to see it. And there she was, sitting alone by the moonlight, her visage was captivating, she seemed to gleam more brightly than the moon itself. I should have returned to watch over you, but I just couldn’t stop watching her, her green slender figure won’t get out of my mind. The next night, I didn’t want to admit it but I was waiting for her, patiently, for some reason the idea of her never returning made me sad, but then, once again I heard her light steps, but they weren’t only hers time. Another Pokémon, a male of her same kind was with her, he made her smile, he could walk besides her so easily, hold her hand”

(That was… something)

Mimikyu: They looked so happy together….

Mimikyu: My kind has always been a lonely kind, it’s hard for us to interact with other Pokémon, humans avoid us, and our appearance drives even ourselves away

I decided to give this a chance and read the furst thread. This is great so far, but

Dad: Nah, you’ll be fine, just be polite. Also, like with rare Pokémon, don’t stare at them too much, they might get weirded out, or scared, like with that Lopunny the other day

>Little Percy: She made me feel funny….

>Dad: That’s why we are going to the psychologist Percy

I love this, I love you, I officially love this quest. Please don't die on me before I catch up.

Percy: Mimikyu, have some confidence in yourself! You have a lot of good points, I’m sure there is someone who will notice that!

Mimikyu: If you really think so… maybe I can try

Percy: It’s decided! We can go over this later at home. Now, how about we do some exploration?

The abandoned villa is located on the other end of town, it’s gigantic and dilapidated exterior is completely covered with plants that have been left unattended. It’s technically prohibited for people to enter, but the police don’t really care about it. There’s been talk of a mysterious unrecognizable figure that looks like a walking corpse roaming inside. It’s probably just bull, but there’s a big possibility that it’s a rare or various rare Pokémon! They usually end up being the explanation to most rumors.
This place has been abandoned since you have use of reason, they are various stories regarding the place. Like that it was the vacation home to some famous gangster who got busted for drug trafficking, or that its original owners went crazy one day and killed one another. And others say that it was the hideout to a full criminal organization, where they experimented on humans and Pokémon.

Let’s…

>Explore the upper rooms, you hear some, kind of groaning you have never heard before, maybe it’s a Pokémon you’ve never met!
>Let’s go to the garden, it’s ridiculously big, and for some reason the plants here grow taller and are leafier than in the rest of the city, maybe you could search for that berry tree…
>Search for the basement, who knows what secrets this house helds…
>You know what? This is a bad idea, let’s just go home

Sory for the late update, had to drive my folks to the airport.

This place is huge! It’s even bigger on the inside! It could be easy to get lost on here, the main entrance leads to a spacious living room and a spiral staircase, even in the base floor there’s a lot of corridors with tons of rooms which doors have either been busted or locked shut. According to the rumors there’s supposed to be this secret pass away to a underground basement, the stories about what’s inside it range widely.

>Follow that strange stench that’s is coming from somewhere

>For some reason, this particular corridor is colder than the rest of them, follow this?

>It sounds like a old radio is on playing music, follow the sound?

You head to the room where the cold feels stronger, after walking for a bit you encounter a door from where a freezing breeze emanates. Thankfully the door is open, you push it to enter, the wood feels like ice on your skin. It’s a weird room, you can’t really make out its purpose. There’s no windows nor furniture, just a weird looking refrigerator, but it seems to be unplugged, nevertheless you can feel that the cold is coming from here.
The ice prevents the door from opening, thankfully Houndour heats it enough to melt it. You and your mons take a peek inside.
It’s seems to be full of some sort of test tubes? You have no idea what’s inside them. But what caughts your attention is the TM inside, it’s an ice tupe move judging by it’s color! It’s seems to be trapped in a chunk of ice, how appropriate, so Houndour once again melts it down!
Except it doesn’t work this time.
Seems like what keeps this thing cold is a big chunk of NeverMelt Ice! And somehow the TM is inside of it!
Will you…
>Grab that Never Melt Ice from the fridge! (But you’ll break the TM in the process)

Whismur uses Hammer Arm and completely trashes the fridge!
Oh right, Pokémon
Miracously the TM is unharmed and in perfect condition!

>Obtained Ice Beam TM!

Nice! It isn’t a secret basement but it’s still pretty good! You still have some time before it gets too late, so you turn back and continue exploring, but your innocent trespassing gets interrupted by some shouts

[Hobo]: Who the fuck is making so much noise?

[Hobo]: You came here to rob me of my precious powders?

[Hobo]: You damn youngsters think you can just enter anywhere and thrash the place!

[Hobo]:Well fucko! Im going to thrash your ass!

He seems pretty unstable, his movements are strange, like has no complete control over his muscles, also it’s seems like has been hufing…something, his mouth is covered with some strange substance, the man is reaching for his pants, you really hope he doesn’t whip out his penis

Oh he’s just armed

Oh shit he is armed! With Pokémon! He’s about to unload who knows what mons upon you!

>Shit son let’s run for it

Houndour starts growling menancingly, showing it’s teeth telling the Hobo stop bothering, letting out some fire to show he is ready to burn the old fool. But the old man it’s unchanging.

[Hobo]: You think you can scare me kid? I fought in the last “Suppression War” I’ve seen thing that would keep you up all night, and done even worse…

He just stares blankly to the ceiling for like a whole minute. You could just leave him there but nah.

Mimikyu creeps slowly behind the old veteran, moving through the walls, remaining undetected, getting closer and closer to his back. He floats toward his head and gets his attention wit one of his limb. He tells you and the rest of the team to cover your eyes. As soon as the man turns his back to see who is touching Mimikyu lifts it’s cloth rag revealing himself to the Hobo

[Hobo]: THE SINS OF MY PAST HAVE RETURNED TO HAUNT ME, NO MATTER HOW MUCH I HUFF THEY WILL NEVER LEAVE, I’M SO SORRY GENERAL, I’M SO SORRY

The Hobo drops to the ground letting go of his Pokéballs and starts sobbing uncontrollably…

Seems like that’s solved. The Aztlan government should treat it´s war veteran better.

Seems like that fridge wasn’t the source of the cold, something else is causing it…
You venture deeper on this old mansion. All the corridors look almost the same, besides the occasional broken door or graffiti, you are guided by the cold instead of your sight. After checking almost a dozen of rooms you find something, one of the room is different from the rest, it’s smaller and it leads to some sort of walk in closet, at the end of it there’s a little trapdoor. You can feel the cold is stronger down there.

Mimikyu stops you from entering, he says that something has been following us for a while after the whole Hobo debacle. He isn’t sure if it’s hostile, but he seems to be approaching with caution. It may be preparing a surprise attack, also it seems like something is waiting for us from the other side of the door, there’s the sound of movements and very light steps…

>Go inside now, let’s see what’s on the other side

>The Pokémon revealed itself! but....

You call out to whatever is following you, hoping it’s a sensible being capable of discussion. The cold is getting stronger and stronger, way too cold for comfort. Whismut gets near Houndour since he is the warmest, Mimikyu returns to your bag, the cold is strong enough to make a Ghost type uncomfortable. And you can’t stop trembling.
From one of the walls it emerges, a single Frosslas. It seems to be causing the sudden blizzard indoors. She let’s out a strong icy wind that shuts the door and starts freezing it. You start looking for other exits but there are no windows here! Oh right, the trap door… From inside of it a bunch of Snorunts bust out, they seem to be wielding pipes, and some sort of crude small pears made from ice. They are all pointing towards you. You can feel your hands start to freeze.

Frosslass: Another human seeks the “White Room” …. how shall we dispose of him…

>Let’s get out of here! Houndour melt the Ice and let’s get out!

>”I´m sorry, I didn’t know I was causing trouble, just let us leave and we’ll won’t tell anyone about this”

Crits on a d20 Bo3 is silly though. One a d100? I'm totally okay with crits. They happen rarely, and every one is an exceptional success or failure. But on a d20? They happen way too often to be of any significance. We've had to roll d20s four times now, and we've gotten SIX crits. Even if we factor in the fact that one was 3d20s, that's still six crits on six rolls. That's just dumb. What's the point of critically succeeding and failing if you end up doing it every single roll?

You instruct Mimikyu to explain our situation as politely as possible to Froslass, he should try to show his best features to demonstrate we are harmless! He asks if you are sure this is a good idea, you say that he should think of this as practice!

Mimikyu: We are sorry to intrude your domains, we didn’t know there was anyone living here. Master and us were just doing some little exploration. We don’t mean to be a bother nor a threat you and your kin. Maybe you would be so kind to show us this “basement” I promise you we will leave shortly after and won’t tell a soul.

Mimikyu: Here is a “peace offering”

>Mimikyu takes one of the Berry Muffin out of the bag and offers it to Froslass!

The Ice Pokémon approaches the treat, she takes it with her cold hand and gives it a little bite, soon after she has completely devoured it!

Froslass: Such a gentle and proper Pokémon….

>>2793053
>>2793055

A strong current of wind hits Mimikyu on the back, flying him towards Frosslas grasp

Froslass: You will look good on my chambers… for eternity.

> “When it finds humans or Pokémon it likes, it freezes them and takes them to its chilly den, where they become decorations”

Froslass: Get rid of the others.

the Ice type grabs your friend and disappears through the trapdoor. The remaining Snorunt are pointing at you with their makeshift weaponry, they don’t look to strong, but they are many.

Ah, you know what? Maybe let's split them up. Have Houndour chase after Frosslass and Mimikyu, while we stay with Whismur to handle the Snorunt. Whismur can't do anything to effect Frosslass, but Echoed Voice will hit multiple targets including Houndour. We can pick up a pipe and start swinging as well. Houndour, meanwhile, can Bite or Ember Frosslass rather effectively to try to free Mimikyu, and then they can both double team Frosslass.

Well, yes. Even though because of Poké-logic, the attack won't burst your eardrums unless you crit fail. (Can Pokémon control how their sounds moves? I wouldn't be surprised since they can breathe ice,and fire, produce water and shoot it at high pressure, extend their shadows and use them to attack someone, produce invisible barriers, etc)

Still, ear protection will be a MUST once she evolves (Even if she controls her sounds, it still will be pretty fucking loud)
>>
>>2793390
I just figure that, while normally Echoed Voice wouldn't hurt our ears as we're functioning as a trainer, right now, we're her Doubles Partner, and Echoed Voice hits everybody in a Double Battle. So I'm not sure if it'd hit us now.

>>2793361
Overall though, yeah, have Whismur belt out some tunes while we defend with our pipe.
>>
>>2793390
Oh man, she's gonna be crazy dangerous, once she evolves into Loudred. Going to have to be careful she doesn't turn our opponent's brains to mush at top volume, if it's already loud enough to burst our ear drums now on a bad roll.

A bit off topic right now but assuming we pass and make trainer without a hitch, should we have our poke friends let us catch them just so they won't need to worry about getting caught anymore? We don't even need to keep them or have thrm travrl with us, they just have the ball energy or whatever keep them from getting caught by other trainers.

>Percy, tried to evade!
> CRIT FAIL

One of the little runts blast another Ice Shard directly at your face, surprisingly you barely manage to dodge it! Suck it Snorunt!

Then you feel a lot of pain in your right anterior shin, one of the bastards got your leg with a little metal rod. You wince, then more pain comes, something sold is ripping your skin. The other Snorunt drives his ice shank directly into you! And finally, an Ice shard hits you directly on the face knocking you down.

You are on the ground, you grab onto your wounds and feel a certain wetness. Did you know that it’s pretty hard to make Pokémon bleed? Well, at least the ones that do bleed. Not only Steel and Rock types, any Pokémon has an incredibly durable skin! Many of them don’t feel particularly though to touch but man they sure can take a lot of damage!

This is not the case with humans

>Whismur. CRIT

You can only look at Whismur horrified expression for a second before it turns into rage. You instinctively try to cover your ears and then she unleashes the hardest and loudest sound she has ever made. You can feel the whole room rumble as if an earthquake were happening. It’s enough force to send the Snorunts flying to the walls.

She finished the attack, but she can’t stop crying, just like when you met her.

The Snorunts won’t be getting up soon, but will you?

>Battle Finished!
>Victory!
>Whismur and Percy? Have gained Experience!

Seems like the wound wasn’t too deep, it stings like fuck but if it’s treated now it shouldn’t be life threatening. You try to remember, this time more calmly some of the things your parent taught you about first aid. You rip a piece of your shirt and spray it with one of the potions you are carrying (Though they are usually meant for Pokémon potions can be used on humans if necessary, even though they aren’t as effective) then you apply some pressure on your wound with it, holding the rag with your left hand.

Whismur is still crying, even though it’s loud and your ears are still ringing from that last Echoed Voice you try to calm her down. First you get a little closer to her, enough to pat her head with your free hand in order to get her attention.

Percy: Don’t worry Whismur, I’m not hurt anymore. See?

You do your best to stand up despite the pain, trying to not show it on your face. She’s more calm, her crying is reduced to some really loud sniffing

Percy: They weren’t that strong, you’ve battled stronger Pokémon and won! And If I you are that strong, your trainer also must be!

This reassures her, she feels a little more confident in herself and even more on you. Still she tells you to stay behind her, you are in no condition to fight.

You take a quick look at the now trashed room, 2 of the Snorunts are unconscious, and the other two weren’t even Snorunts! They transformed back into Dittos, they are still unconscious though

What will you do?

You don’t waste any time and get to running with Whismur. The stairs leading down are longer than you expected, way longer. But you finally see a blue door at the end of them! You hasten your steps, Whismur launches herself at the door slamming it open!

It’s a huge facility, the floor, ceiling, walls and its light’s are completely white. The air is way colder than upstairs, but not as bad as when Froslass entered the room. It seems to divide on various sections. Thankfully, the recent scorch marks on the floor show you the path to your friends. As you run you can spy on the corner of your eyes a lot of different Pokémon hiding throughout the lab but you can see them clearly.

You finally arrive, being led by the sound of some fierce battling!

>92
Houndour seems to have caught up to the Froslass, and even landed some surprise hits that made her let go of Mimikyu! Still, this Pokémon seems strong, not quite as the Yellow King but still stronger than the previous Pokémon your team has faced when battling with trainers.

You run towards Mimikyu, Ice Heal in hand. You spray your Pokémon with it thoroughly, the substance helps to melt the ice, as well as preventing frostbite and returning mobility to the Pokémon muscles. He’s still not ready to fight but he isn’t in danger anymore.

You spray every last drop of Ice Heal on MImikyu and start rubbing your Pokémon where the ice is thicker and getting all the frost you can out of his rag, he is a little hurt but still pleads you to join the fight, you can say no to him. Besides, Houndour and Whismur need as much help as possible.

Frosslass is tired of playing, she makes the freeing wind currents grow faster and more violent, she’s going to use “Blizzard”! Froslas is focused on hitting Houndour so she doesn’t notice when Whismur gets near to hit her with a “Supersonic”, the strange sound wave messes with Froslass sense of direction, making her miss Houndour and Whismur completely, Houndour takes advantage of it and scores another Ember!
The Froslass is still confused, Whismur doesn’t want to let this opportunity slip. She starts focusing a strange energy on her arms, something akin of the miasma Mimikyu produces when fighting. She jumps to Froslass and smacks her!

>Whismur used “Astonish!” is super effective!

>>
>>2797953
Backing >>2798289
>>
>>2798289
Houndour's Bite is more effective and he has greater resistances. Having him rush up to her face would not only do more damage but make him more of a priority target, which should serve as a nice distraction for the other two.

Whismur can be left on her own because Astonish is weaker than the other two's attacks so it's fine if she uses any of her other damage-dealing moves (since she was never going to be the primary damage dealer anyway) and even better if she instead uses a status ailment move for support.
>>
>>2798505
Whismur is young and inexperienced, without guidance she's likely to make a wrong move or lose her nerve. Houndour has been functioning just fine on its own, Ember from a distance has been working. Crowd the plate with three physical attackers all at once and an AOE can wipe them all out.
>>
>>2798747
While I’d say Whismur is past the point where she’d chicken out on us (I’d say the fact she didn’t bolt when those Snorunt fucked us up proved that), I would agree that she may make a bad move due to inexperience.

>Mimikyu, CRIT FAIL

Mimikyu tries to get another "Shadow Sneak" on Froslass, but it looks like she knew it was coming

Froslass: You look more beautiful when you are not moving…

She changes the direction of the blizzard at the last moment to hit Mimikyu! He tries to get away from the attack but doesn't manages to avoid it!

>Mimikyu is frozen, every turn a roll of 1d5 will determine if he thaws out!
>He also sustained heavy damage from the Blizzard! combined with the previous freezing he sustained before the battle he doesn't look to good

Houndour: Successful pass!

Houndour manages to avoid the attack fully and gets an "Ember" to hit on Froslass face!

>It's Super Effective!

>>2800973
Finally Whismur manages to get to Houndour and she hands him the Berry

>The Berry's healing properties restored Houndour's health!
>He's not in optimal condition but at least he can still go on for a while!

>Froslass is in critical condition! A decent attack from your Pokémon will definitely bring her down!

>She is now going for Whismur, preparing a wake up slap, seems like she wants to deal with Houndour alone

>Whismur: Successful Pass!

Seeing Froslass getting ready to slap her shit, Whismur triest to brace for it. The Froslass attack comes hard, one hit is enough to send her to the ground. She seems to be finished, or at least that was Froslass believes before Whismur springs up and surprises her with an "Astonish!"

>It's Super Effective!
>but the attack itself isn't strong enough to finish her, but it's more than enough to send her tumbling down.

>Houndour: Partial pass

Houndour keeps his distance between Froslass, playing it carefully, he sends another Ember directly to her but she barely manages to avoid it, only getting grazed by the flames.

>Whismur is in critical condition, she is about to pass out at any moment, still she could do another move but that´s it

>Houndour is becoming tired, he was the first one to come chasing down Froslass, but he still has some health left

>Mimikyu isn't doing so great, still frozen and more hurt than Houndour but not as much as Whismur

>Froslass is also in a critical state, still conscious but in no condition to continue fighting whatsoever

Percy: Let’s stop. Please. I’m really not here to hurt you, nor the other Pokémon. I just wanted to see if this place was real

Froslass: That’s a lie, Humans only bring pain to us, this place is not for you

???: Let him speak Froslass, you failed your duties as a guard because of your selfish desires. The Human has bested you, but he is willing to talk

You saw them before, but that was just a quick look. You are now surrounded by loads of Ice type Pokémon! You suspect some of them are Dittos, but you still can’t tell them apart. Most of them are Snorunts and Snover, but you can see some Smoochums and is that an Alolan Vulpix?. There’s also a couple of their “Evolved forms” The most imposing is the Abomasnow that is now talking

Abomasnow: You, who listen to our “voices”, what brings you here?

>You wanted to confirm the rumors of this place!

>You are always on the lookout for places where Pokémon could live

>You were searching for any useful Items that could be hiding here

>You were bored, and wanted something exciting to do

>You wanted to know why would someone build this place

>Other/ write-in

>We were just curious about this place. We'd heard rumors about it, and wanted to see what was up with it, why it was abandoned. We never wanted to disturb anybody, Pokemon or human.
>Plus, honestly, my Mimikyu has been feeling lonely as of late. So we've been on the lookout for any Pokemon in the same egg group that might want to go on a date with him. This seemed as good a place as any.
>Do you guys want this Ice Beam TM back? We didn't think it belonged to anybody, if it's yours you can have it.

>You wanted to confirm the rumors of this place!

You wanted to meet new Pokemon! But if you really aren't welcome here as a human, your three friends here should still be alright, right? Maybe they could hang around for a while and chat with some of the residents of your place, while you wait outside?

Oh! By the way, do you guys want this Ice Beam TM back? We didn't think it belonged to anybody, if it's yours you can have it.

Mimikyu seems really embarrassed by your comment, he tries to hide from the eyes of the onlookers on your backpack

Abomasnow: As you can see, this place is real. A long time ago it was a jail where we were used as “things”, but now, it is our refuge

I don’t know if we can help your friend in the matters of love. Many of those living here can change their form at will, but most of us have no desire to mate anymore. Maybe one of the younger ones could help...

And that thing… that was from the humans, they are no longer here, so it’s yours if you
desire

Percy: Also, I’ve seen a Smoochum outside of here, she can’t stand the heat, could I bring her in?

Abomasnow: She is more than welcome. She may be one of the younger ones that leave, sick of being in this place. But the sun outside is harsh and unforgiving to our kind

Percy: I know it may be a little out of place to ask this, but, could you show us around? We’d like to explore more but we don’t want to trespass

Abomasnow nods and leads you and your team. You have to carry Whismur since she is just dead tired. Seems like this facility divides into 6 main rooms, with a smaller one in the back, but it seems like that one is barred from entry. The Pokémon look at you on different ways, the smaller ones seems to have a certain curiosity, the older ones are cautious or look ready to attack you at any moment. And there’s the oldest ones like Abomasnow who seem to look tired and kind of… sad.
Abomasnow: Most of the Human things were destroyed by us after they left, but still, there’s a “thing” you could get rid of for us…

Percy: Also, What do you mean, "used as things?" What did they do to you?

Abomasnow stops for a second and lets a big heavy sigh.

Abomasnow: The separated us in groups, one for each kind of us. They would measure us, makes us fight between ourselves, pushed us to our limit. It didn’t matter to them if we were aged or just been born. And if we didn’t met their requirements, or we resisted, we would be “discarded” , taken to the room at the end. Our families entered, but they never came back, just their fur, their leaves, their teeth, single parts of their broken corpses.
And then, we were forced to “Breed”. The Dittos had it the toughest, they forced them without rest. And when the eggs hatched we didn’t had a moment to see our lieges. They took them from us, they repeated what they did to us. Half came back.
Then their testing would get worse. Some of the strongest ones would be broken, they tried to make us become “More” with those horrible stones, our bodies couldn’t take it but they would continue trying.
They continued doing this, for a long, long time. Until one day, they vanished. No human in white garments entered again. We were left alone, so we broke out of our cages, only to end up on a bigger cage. But at least, inside of here, we are free.

Abomasnow: Make no mistake Human, the hospitality I’m showing is not fear nor weakness, I’ve met humans before being captured, and I know not all of them are the same. You’ve proved yourself at least decent, but if you try to harm anyone here, you won’t leave alive.

You are in front of the barred room, Abomasnow removes some of the debris blockin a hole on the metal door, it’s just big enough to pass through.

Abomasnow: This is are only thing I could give you, it’s yours for the taking if you never bringit back

Hey guys, sorry for doing this but I'll have to put this Quest on an indefinite hiatus. A lot of unforeseen things have happened recently and I need to sort out my shit before I can take the time to update regularly.

This actually makes me pretty fucking sad, I know it's not the best quest around by far but I had a ton of fun writing for it! Running a quest here was something I really wanted to do, and I still want to do it.

Hope I can get my shit together by the weekend, or next week, but it's unlikely so.
If not, I'll return someday to keep this going.

I want to thanks everybody for sticking around so far! and apologize for doing this, this Mediocre QM hopes to return soon.
>>
>>2805002
That's understandable, but you should at least tell us what we got from the house.
>>
>>2805002
The qm curse is real. I'll be around whenever you make it back. Don't sell yourself short though, this was pretty good and more importantly really fun.

Thanks for keeping us updated and not just ghosting as well.
>>
