You are Ushi Walker, the half-japanese/half-american wielder of the mighty quirk “Everything is Bigger in Texas", U.A High first year student, third place in the Sports Festival's Obstacle Race, one of the horses of Team Yaoyorozu in the Cavalry Battle and victor of your first Tournament Match against Momo.

Turns out that not even the most flexible quirk in the world can help against a secret Super Move… Not only because of the sudden and overwhelming power boost Austin Tossin' grants you, but also because she didn't have time to plan for it…

Most likely the second, really. The only reason you threw her against the stadium wall with what felt like the force of a small truck was because you thought that given enough time, she would have left you hogtied.

And while your fight with Momo was probably the fastest, you aren't the only one confirmed for the next round so far.

Sero got his spot with what you can only call a gamble, focusing on blocking most of Mina's blows and purposefully getting to the edge of the ring before trying to achieve a ring out with his tape. Mina's acid annihilated the tape in less than a second, but after letting herself be lead to the edge of the ring, it was enough time to force her to step out of bounds.

And you'd say Pony got hers by sheer endurance and grit, since her victory only came after their speedster fight proved Iida faster, knocking her around the ring before stalling his engines with a last kick to the girl's head. After managing to pick herself up, she managed to buck him off the ring. You aren't completely sure the beating she got won't affect her in her next match, but it was still awesome to watch.

Perhaps even more shocking, although you never saw it happen, you were told Shoto got hit by Aoyama's laser before hitting him in the gut with an ice pillar, then dragging him off the ring without ever using a single spark of his fire, something his father gave him a hard time about.

Pretty much why you are trying to come up with something to say right now, preferably something that doesn't leave your mouth tasting like shoelaces.

After a few seconds of navel gazing, you come up with something that both feels good enough to say and expresses how you feel.

"I didn't use my parents' quirks." You explain at the lowest non-whispering volume you can muster, deciding to continue supporting him, but slightly nudging him towards using his quirk in full. "I've been usin' my own, and all the advantages it gives me. Maybe it's time you try the same?"

>"Maybe it is." He says, looking at his hand. "Are aware that if I were to start using fire now, you would be the first target? I do not think you thought this through."

>"Maybe it is." He says, looking at his hand. "Are you aware that if I were to start using fire now, you would be the first target? I do not think you have thought this through."

"Well, yeah. I knew that, but Ah'm also tryin' to get into a business in which people will constantly try to kill me. If Ah'm gonna risk life and limb to help every stranger that needs it, Ah can do it to help a friend." You elaborate, trying your darndest to hide how nervous the idea of fighting Shoto with his flames gets you. "In the end though, it's up to you hun. Ah'll support you on whatever you decide."

He finally looks up from his hand at that, sighing before looking at you.

>"...Thank you." He simply says. He's not exactly happy, but seeing him calm down is a great improvement on and by itself. "...I never knew how much just talking about things can help clear one's mind."

"Well, I'm pretty sure listening to your friends vent and giving advice are things friends do." You say with a sheepish expression and a shrug. You'd normally tell him to talk things with his family, but you are pretty sure his case is an exception. "Who's up next on the ring anyway?"

>"Tokoyami and… The Gen. Ed. kid, it should start in a few minutes." Shoto tells you, seemingly surprised about forgetting the name of the kid who got your hat. "...We can speak normally now, right?"

"...Oh, right." You say in full volume, getting Kyoka and Momo to look at you from each side, clearly curious.

Kinda feel like we owe birdbro one after the bread insident, might as well try to give him a hint with what little we know for him to work with
>>
>>2808262

We don't know what activates it, but we do know that pain deactivates it from seeing pony regaining control for a few seconds after being hit by acid. Telling birdbro to give himself a papercut would be enough to insure his victory.

Shinso didn’t do anything wrong. Arguably a little rude/mean, but nothing outside what’s expected in this competition. We did worse to Mineta. So why target down Shinso? If Tokoyami wanted recon he should have asked.

With Shoto in a better mood and no pressing matters to attend to before the match starts, you decide to make some smalltalk and wait till it starts.

Dark Shadow is a powerhouse, and the Gen. Ed. kid looks as scrawny as Fumikage or worse, so there shouldn't be any reason for you to go bother them with imprecise information.

"So… What was that with the seats anyway?" You ask Momo and Kyoka, recalling how you used to sit between Momo and Shoto before you went to check on Pony, coming back to find your seat occupied by Momo and more or less forcing you to sit between Momo and Kyoka.

Until Shoto asked Momo to swap seats with him, then you ended between Kyoka and Shoto.

>"...Nothing." Answers Kyoka after a second long pause, propping her head up with her knuckles and looking away. "I just thought we could sit together and talk. ...About the tournament, I mean. We haven't really hanged out."

"Huh." You let out, a bit surprised by the simple reason. It seems you still aren't used to people being friendly. "I can do that! Let's see… The last match got me a bit worried. Ah mean, Ah get there’s some stakes to making an impression here, but Ah sure hope Deku doesn’t do any permanent damage to himself over this.”

>"...You mean Midoriya?" Kyoka asks, looking at you and getting a quick nod in response. "Well, guy's a bit crazy, but I don't think he'll try to hurt himself."

>"Uh? No, I'm not crazy." Deku says, looking up from his seat in a row under yours. "I mean… I'm still working on power output, but I'm trying to figure out how to beat Kacchan with what I can do."

>"Yeah… Do your best, but try to not ground your bones into Pillsbury Best, sugar." You comment, leaning forwards and over his seat.

>"I…" Deku starts, looking up and blushing, then covering his face with his notebook. "I need to do it with the least amount of fractures possible."

>"Then he should give up. It's the only way he'll get to leave the ring on his own feet." Bakugo adds from the row above. "I don't mind either way, the outcome won't change."

Kyoka then pulls you back to your seat by the shoulder and leans close to you.

>"He may be an asshole, but I think it would be for the best if he wins." She whispers. "I'm sure Midoriya can figure something out after what happened at the Battle Trial and that stunt with the mines in the race, but I'm not sure he'll last the next three fights."

"...Maybe if he paces himself?" You say unsure before raising your voice back to normal. "It's the only fight I'm nervous about, really. I flat out have no idea what will Uraraka and Mei do. or Tetsutetsu and Kirishima."

>"I know how that one will go." Kyoka says.

"Really?" You earnestly ask her, wondering what kind of insight she might have.

Instead of words however, you only find out she's pretty good at voicing onomatopoeias, as she goes Clank! multiple times, until both of you start giggling, then laughing.

A second later, Mina and Sero join from the seats above yours, prompting Kirishima to look around and ask.

>"What's so funny?" The redhead starts. "Quirks are supposed to be unique!"

"Well, that." You say, looking over your shoulder and shrugging. "That by itself makes it pretty dang funny."

>"Yeah, right. I bet you won't laugh when you find another girl enlarging and shrinking!" He says, crossing his arms.

"...What are the odds of that?" You ask, getting him to shrug.

>"ALRIGHT THEN, IT'S TIME FOR OUR NEXT BATTLE!" Present Mic announces as Fumikage and the other boy enter the ring from their respective sides, getting all of you to
pay attention back to the ring.

>"HE REALLY HIDES A MONSTER DEEP WITHIN HIM, JUST BENEATH THE SKIN!!! SO CAN YOU REALLY CALL IT CHUNIBYO? FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEROICS, TOKOYAMI FUMIKAGE!!!" He presents your classmate.

Oddly enough, without a dark corner to be in or a desk to sit on, he looks weird. Which is by itself weird, since he's looking like a normal guy.

>"AND… UH. WE ARE SORRY, BUT HE'S JUST A NORMAL STUDENT WITHOUT ANYTHING SPECIAL. FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL EDUCATION, SHINSO HITOSHI!!!"

"Ain't that discouraging…" You comment, wondering how he made it this far without anything special.

Sure, he looks like a scarecrow with your ragged hat, but that means nothing in this world of quirks. You have seen people that look like skeletons shoot gamma beams from their damn eyes on the news.

>"BEGIN!!!" Present Mic finishes, starting the fight.

As anyone who's ever seen him in action would predict, Fumikage calls out Dark Shadow the instant the fight starts, with the mass of black, oil-like darkness quickly shooting out of his abdomen.

You then hear a grunt by your side, so you look at the responsible.

>"I was about to say that the Gen. Ed. kid is fucked, but I'm pretty sure that'd be jinxing it now." Kyoka explains, looking at the ring. "Oh, come on!"

You quickly look back at the ring, seeing your feathered friend turning standing still, looking at nothing as does Dark Shadow.

>"HEY!!! ERASERHEAD, PAL, DIDN'T YOU SAY THIS GUY WAS ONE OF YOUR STRONGER STUDENTS?!!!" Present Mic asks. "WHY ISN'T HE MOVING? HE'S JUST STANDING THERE LIKE A MORON!... OR IS IT SHINSO'S QUIRK?"

>"He is, and it is." Your homeroom teacher says over the speaker system as Fumikage turns around and starts walking. "Shinso's quirk, Brainwash, is a force to be reckoned with, but Tokoyami's Dark Shadow is one of most powerful quirks I've seen. It's clear this will be a battle of quirks."

>"BRAINWASH?! DAMN, THAT'S SCARY!!!" Present Mic comments.

>"If anything, it once again shows why U.A's Practical Exam, although the most optimal so far, still needs to be worked on." Mr Aizawa says.

...Even without the specifics, that makes sense. At least, now you know what happened to Pony.

"Damn…" You say, watching Fumikage walk to the very edge of the ring…

Then Dark Shadow punches him in the gut, knocking him on his ass and preventing him from walking out of bounds.

>"What?" Kyoka asks, looking in your general direction for answers. "Did his own quirk just attack him?"

>"Yes… But I have no idea why." Momo answers from Shoto's right.

"I think it's got to do with the Brainwash." You theorize, thinking back to when Pony got hit in the face by a blob of acid. Maybe interrupting the victim's breathing ends it. "That, and Dark Shadow is a <basket case>."

Since no one really knew the details, both girls accept your idea with a nod… Although Kyoka also starts humming something.

After hitting Fumikage, Dark Shadow slowly floats towards the purple haired kid, his link to Fumikage stretching and seemingly letting it reach through the entire ring.

Shinso obviously backpedals a few steps, talking and waving his hands around, but the shadow monster is not deterred. Not even when he tries to raise his arms and face it.

Dark Shadow just delivers a quick swipe to the back of Shinso's knees with one of his claws, using the other to grab the boy's head when loses his balance and slamming it against the concrete.

You can't tell what it's saying, mainly because of the distance but also because you don't even know where to begin to read shadowbeaks. Still, you are pretty sure that Dark Shadow looks pretty pleased with itself, even as Fumikage was still clutching his stomach.

But as the seconds crawl on, whatever Shinso says seems to wear Dark Shadow down, as it only seems to get more and more bored. Then, for an instant, it looks like Dark Shadow will strike again, but Fumikage seems to stop him, shouting something.

After nearly a minute of Dark Shadow holding Shinso down, Midnight approaches them.

>"Shinso, can you still move?" She asks, her microphone letting you hear what's going on.

>"...No." The boy replies after a second, ending the match.

>"Shinso can no longer move, Tokoyami Fumikage! You advance to the next round!" Midnight announces, causing the moderately confused crowd to start making noise.

As expected, most is for Fumikage… Well, mostly for Dark Shadow, but only as Fumikage's awesome quirk. But there's also a sizeable part of the crowd that seems to be cheering for Shinso, and some even jeering U.A for having him in Gen. Ed.

And you can't really blame them… Not being able to kick a robot's shining metallic ass shouldn't stop someone able to literally tell villains to stop from being a hero.

Still, at the end, both boys gave a particularly somber bow before exiting the ring, with Dark Shadow wearing the dirty remains of your poor, poor hat.

"You know, I actually expected more violence." You comment as they enter the stadiums inner maze.

That looks fucking terrible.
But if we're bending time and space for this, then I say Sergio Leone.
His lifelong love of Kurosawa's work, and his portfolio including some of the greatest Westerns ever made, make him a perfect fit for the "East meets West" aspects of Ushi's story.
Plus he's my favorite director of all time, one of the greatest to ever live.

Considering they… He?...

...Considering that Fumikage, and maybe Dark Shadow too, has to come to your class' box, going to ask for the remains of your hat alone in a dark corridor sounds less and less like a good idea.

With that in mind, you just stay put on your seat as Uraraka retreats towards the waiting rooms for the last minutes before her match with Mei. She looks cautious, but not too worried.

And while you have seen some things Mei has worked on, and may be partly responsible for their casings, tips and other parts of her doohickies, Uraraka teamed up with her during the Cavalry Battle.

If she thinks she can handle it, you have no reason to doubt her.

Instead, you just kick back and continue chatting with your pals.

"So, who do you think will win this one?" You ask around, looking at the girls around you, having to lean forwards a bit to look at Momo… "Shoto, hun, mind swithin' seats with Kyoka? C'mon, you'll see why in a bit."

Both Kyoka and Shoto look a bit perplexed at your request, but do it anyway. Momo on the other hand seems to get it instantly.

And with that last change in seating, you are still next to Shoto, but now you can talk more easily with both Momo and Kyoka. You don't need to lean as much to make eye look besides her smaller frame, while Shoto's trained body was far bulkier.

...Which doesn't mean you were staring, just that most boys in the class are ripped.
It's just hard to not notice.

>"...Well, there goes my peripheral vision." Kyoka snarks, leaning forwards on her seat and trying to look at both sides beyond your and Momo's busts, eventually managing to actually lay her head on her knees before straightening her back. "Anyway… No idea. Ochaco's quirk is a good one, and just our P.E. and Foundational Hero Training classes mean that she has an edge… But eh. The support girl has all the gear se can carry and an unknown quirk. If I have to pick, I'll say Ochaco, but I'm not sure."

>"Good analysis!" Momo congratulates her before giving her own two cents. "Not unlike Ushi's, Ochaco's quirk should decide the match the moment she can touch her foe, but I can't be sure this time. Between her hover boots and the grappling hook in her belt, it's unlikely Ochaco will be able to make her float off the ring."

"And I don't think she can just overpower her either." You point out. "Don't see 'em getting into a proper brawl either… I think we all agree on Mei being kind of a wildcard here, no telling what she'll do..."

Then you look over your shoulder for one of the gals, the one you are fairly sure would be the easiest to spot in a crowd and wait for a second to make it a bit more dramatic.

"Unlike a particularly pink gal I know, who was more predictable than the sunrise." You snark, grinning smugly.

>"C'mon, it wasn't that bad!" She defends herself.

>"Eh… It was really easy to see your attacks coming." Sero comments, sitting cross legged and rubbing his stomped foot, luckily without taking off his shoes. "It undermined your speed, you know? I mean, you could have beaten me up if you had connected a couple more punches."

>"Okay, I get it. Gotta do more than hitting hard." Mina says, scratching her chin. "Maybe moving faster and throwing in some fake outs…"

"And don't wind-up your punches so much, that'll help too." You tell her, getting a pensive nod in return..

No point in pointing it out if you aren't going to help her improve, even if it's funny. That'd be bullying, and you wouldn't do that.

You joke and chat a bit more, but Present Mic's voice soon calls for your attention once again.

>"A KNOWN TEAM PLAYER APPROACHING THE RING WITH STEEL-LIKE DETERMINATION ON THIS ONE VS. ONE MATCH, URARAKA OCHACO, OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEROICS!!!" Present Mic presents your classmate, as the usually soft faced Uraraka takes her position wearing an abnormally serious expression.

>"VERSUS AN EXCEPTIONALLY PROLIFIC INVENTOR EVEN AMONGST HER PEERS, FULLY DECKED IN SUPPORT GEAR, HATSUME MEI OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SUPPORT!!" He continues, as the pink haired girl adjusts her headset with a carefree smile on her face, wearing an odd backpack with some sort of wings at shoulder height and what looks like three belts or more.

>"START!!!" Present Mic finishes the introductions, letting the fight start.

>"I do wonder what kind of match will we see…" Momo comments, observing the ring as Uraraka charges towards Mei.

>"OH MY, A HEAD ON CHARGE BY A FASTER OPPONENT, WHATEVER SHALL I DO?" Mei says, somehow using the stadium's sound system. "I'LL TELL YOU WHAT! NOTHING!"

And indeed, she waits with her arms wide open until Uraraka is almost able to touch her, then a trio of rods of a familiar color shoot out of her many belts, punching holes in the concrete ring and taking her away from Uraraka's reach without her doing anything at all.

>"NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION MAY BE, EVADING WILL ALWAYS BE AS EASY AS PIE AS LONG AS YOU GOT ONE OF THESE HYDRAULIC ATTACHMENT BARS!" She says, sounding suspiciously like the Shopping Channel.

>"...CAN SHE DO THIS?... SO, WE DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE RULES FOR HIJACKING THE MIC'S SIGNAL? UH." Present Mic says, sounding confused.

Oh… You let yourself drop forwards, until you chest bumps against your legs and you can't go any lower, letting Mei's voice drone past you.

>"What's wrong Ushi?" Momo asks, looking at you with some concern.

"I'm live at an infomercial." You whine. "Curse you, Billy Mei."

>"..But they look like good products?" She asks, glancing back at the ring. "Except the net gun, I shouldn't need that one."

>"Put down the credit card Momo." Kyoka jokes.
>>
And that's the best part of the fight for you, other than spotting for where did the alloy you gave her ended. The spikes at the end of the Hydraulic thingamabob and the entire casing of the winged backpack are the main examples, as even when Uraraka manages to tap her, the small propellers on the wings along with her boots allow her to continue her sales pitch with no ill effects other than her hair floating messily and staying constantly a foot above the ring.

By the five minutes mark, Uraraka was pretty much just constantly jogging towards Mei, who avoided her without any effort. It was also the point in which listening to Momo explain how to invest in support companies stock as a hero without getting into illegal insider trading became officially more interesting.

Oh, Mei's saleswomanship is great, but even as you want her to succeed in her shilling, and Uraraka's frustration starts fading away into what looks like bitter resignation, it still sounds like white noise to you.

Still, you try to remain invested.

Yeah, the match below has felt like a chore to watch so far, but you aren't going to let that sap your spirits! Instead, you stretch your stiff joints and back, ignoring the groaning of your skeleton as you do so and stand up.

"C'MON SUGAR!!! YOU CAN FIGURE IT OUT, DON'T LET HER TIRE YOU OUT!!!" You shout as loud as you can, cupping your hands around your mouth as you vociferate. "YOU GO URARAKA!!"

>"The fuck are you doing? There's no way roundface can hear a word you are saying." Bakugo asks behind you, sounding annoyed.

"Neither can the T.V., but I'll be damned if I let that stop me from cheering on the <Longhorns>!" You reply dismissively with a shrug before continuing your cheering. "KEEP IT UP GAL, SHE CAN'T KEEP RUNNING FOREVER!!"

>"What." Bakugo says, seemingly not confused by the simple act of cheering at a screen.

>"Indeed, you can't really make out the words, but you can hear the voices." Iida adds from his seat besides Deku. "...And she's really loud."

"Dang right!" You say, barely letting it distract you from your duty to cheer on your tired classmate. "THERE'S GOTTA BE AN OPENING SOMEWHERE!!"

It still feels weird, really cheering in Japan. Back home you are sure everyone would be shouting the whole match, during all matches, but here it's mainly at the end of the matches, and not even then there's that much enthusiasm. It's just not loud enough.

So much like most grilling you've seen in this country, it would be way better if done the proper, american way.

Thus you keep up your cheering for the next couple minutes, glad that your throat is used to that much shouting.

Then Uraraka rushes towards Mei, not unlike she had been doing the past seven minutes, but seemingly slips before leaving the spikes of Mei's Hydraulic Attachment Bars behind. For a fraction of a second, you think that her fatigue must have gotten the best of her, but then her hand shoots out and grabs the tip of the bar before it pulls back.

What happens next is the best part of the match in your opinion, as the bars try to retract into Mei's backpack while lacking any weight thanks to Uraraka's quirk.

Two of the bars retract without issue, but the one being held by Uraraka pulls Mei towards her instead, too fast for Mei's Hoover Soles to compensate for, and Uraraka holds on to the bar until they are about to collide, only then releasing it and hugging the ring as Mei hovers over her and towards the edge of the ring like an air hockey puck after an encounter with an eager striker.

You are no engineer, but you have to admit that you admire how Mei's gadgets keep her completely upright as she tries to regain control of her flightpath. That must have taken some work to figure out.

>"WELL, IT SEEMS THAT IT'S TIME TO BRING THE SPOTLIGHT BACK TO SOME OF MY FIRST <BABIES> TO BE FEATURED TODAY!" Mei explains as two grappling hooks shoot from the pods at the sides of her middle belt, embedding themselves in the middle of the ring and pulling her back into the middle of the ring. "COMPACT AND EASY TO USE, THE WIRE ARROW, WHEN COMBINED WITH A PAIR OF HOVER SOLES CAN BE A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO MOST MOBILITY ISSUES ENCOUNTERED BY HEROES ON A DAILY BASIS! GETTING TO THE EMERGENCY SITE IS EASY WHEN THE ENTIRE CITYSCAPE BECOMES NAVIGABLE!"

"Aw, c'mon!" You shout throwing your arms up and stomping before returning to your seat and crossing your arms, starting to get how Uraraka must have felt a few minutes ago… And right now too, as she stands up looking more exasperated than anything else.

>"DON'T WORRY SO MUCH! THERE'S LITTLE MORE TO SAY!" Mei says, seemingly addressing Uraraka before turning towards a specific part of the stadium. "ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW, IS TO REMEMBER THE NAME! WHO CREATED THIS WONDERFUL DEVICES! HATSUME MEI, THAT IS! HATSUME MEI! HATSUME MEI!"

>"Humble much?" Kyoka snarks. "I bet that those things will say "Hatsume Mei's whatever the thing's name is" on the box."

"As seen on T.V.!" You say continuing the joke.

>"Well, at least it's not misplaced pride. They seem like good products, and quite a few of them." Momo points out. "It does make me wonder what does she plan to do the next round, having revealed all of her cards here."

>"HAVING SHOWN AS MUCH OF MY LINEUP AS I'LL BE ABLE TO WITHOUT A VOLUNTEER, I SAY GOODBYE TO YOU ALL WITHOUT REGRETS!" Mei says, softly hovering off the ring. "THANKS FOR CO-HOSTING THIS WITH ME, WHATEVER-YOUR-NAME-WAS!"

And just like that, the match is over.

>"Hatsume is out of bounds!! Uraraka advances to the second round!!" Midnight declares with some clear confusion in her voice.

>"That's… a bit more ruthless than I expected." Kyoka comments as Mei just leaves the ring without interacting with Uraraka again. "Just toying with her for minutes to pitch her stuff without even wanting to win."

"Eh… She made it pretty clear it's just business." You defend the pink haired tinkerer. "Besides, she gave Uraraka the victory without any injuries! I reckon that's gotta count for somethin'!"

But down below, Uraraka doesn't really look too happy.

>"Ushi, she goes against Tokoyami next round." Momo points out. "It would likely have been better for her to show all she can do in this round."

"Oh…" You let out. Your quirks aren't quite the same, but if yours does nothing against Dark Shadow, you don't see her doing too well against it either. "Yeah, you are right..."

>"There won't be much for her to do, as the darkness falls and snuffs her hope." You hear Fumikage say as he returns to his seat in the row in front of yours. "And I believe this belongs to you. I refuse to barter with your own belongings."
>>
"Thanks?" You say, as it takes a second too long for you to recognize the mass of cracked and scuffed leather and being handed to you as your hat. At least most of it is still it's not beyond saving, even if it looks more like a flattened Gus than the Pinch Front you wore this morning.

>"AM I THE MASTER OF THIS FREQUENCY AGAIN?!" Present Mic asks no one in particular. "OH, GOOD…. I DON'T THINK THIS FIGHT WILL MAKE IT TO THE HIGHLIGHT REELS... BUT MAYBE INTO A VIDEO CATALOG!!!"

>What do you do?

>[Wait.. Barter? "What was that 'bout barterin' with my stuff?"]

The word barter lingers on your mind for a minute, but you just let it go. You got your hat back, and that's all that matters.

>"Well, it'll be my turn soon." You hear Kirishima say as he stands up, stretching for a second before hardening his arms and punching the palm of his hand, sounding just like you expected it to. "Be right back, I bet he'll cave in after I get some dents in."

And while you can't say much about the match, as you don't really know how Tetsutetsu's quirk compares to Kirishima's Hardening, looking at Mina on the seat next to his does give you an idea of what to say the instant your eyes meet, with a toothy grin confirming you are on the same wavelength.

"Clank!~" You say at the same time, giggling right after.

>"... You know, if he actually turns into metal or something like that, this whole thing will be really freaking cool." Kirishima says, taking a last look back before leaving for the waiting rooms. "Not many chances to go all out on someone."

>"...Really though, I'm sure it'll will sound like a washing machine running with a brick in it." Kyoka points out as soon as he walks out of earshot. "Or maybe like a drum set rolling down the stairs."

>"It must be a very resilient washing machine to keep running with a brick in its drum." Momo points out. "And most bricks would crumble after a rather small number of bounces in a fast spinning drum.

>"I'll bet he'll tear apart his washing machine!" Mina says, certain of her friend's skills. "He's just the best brick there is."

Since you haven't seen or heard either of those things, you just take their word on it and nod, pretending to know what's going on. As far as suddenly dismantling major appliances goes, you only have experience with stepping on them.

Uraraka's frown and shuffling feet as she returns to her seat next to Deku, that you can understand. Sort of.

She did win, and has made it farther than most. So while you understand her frustration at being used by Mei without having a say in the matter, you just think that she should just calm down and plan what to do against Fumikage.

Besides, her frown quickly goes away after noticing Deku's mad scribblings on his notebook, probably trying his best to cover all of his angles before his match against Bakugo.

>"THIS SEVENTH ROUND IS A MATCH UP OF REDUNDANT QUIRKS, ISN'T IT?!" Present Mic points out as the screen displays a picture of Kirishima and one of Tetsutetsu in the same pose, but with Kirishima smiling and Tetsutetsu scowling. "I LIKE THESE ONES, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'LL HAPPEN!!!"

>"All matches are like that, Mic." Mr. Aizawa comments. "Everyone is trying to take the gold, and those who don't manage to surprise their foes will be the firsts to fall. There shouldn't be no predictable match ups."

>"ANYWAY, LET'S GET THIS THIS STARTED!!! MANLY AND PASSIONATE STEEL! FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEROICS, TETSUTETSU TETSUTETSU!" Present Mic announces your Class B pal's entrance, as the boy in question takes his position on the ring as the first boy seemingly trying to put on a show.

>"ALL RIGHT!!!!" He shouts, clenching his fists in front of himself and throwing his head back, getting some noticeable cheering from the other side of the stadium. The giant waving hand quickly confirms that his classmates got his back.

>"VERSUS MANLY AND PASSIONATE HARDENING! ALSO FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEROICS, KIRISHIMA EIJIRO!" Present Mic practically repeats as Kirishima takes his place.

You didn't think that simply roaring that would demoralize Kirishima that much, but he looks fairly deflated as he just cracks his knuckles. Even as he raises a fist a second later, he looks a bit offended.

>"STAAAART!!!" Present Mic then announces, prompting the boys to activate their quirks and get running.

"Here it comes!" You say excitedly as they close the distance and lock ankles, raising their fists.

CRACK! Sounds Tetsutetsu's fist as it shifts slightly to the right, narrowly avoiding clashing fists with Kirishima and hitting him in the chest hard enough to make his heels dig a foot long trench in solid concrete as his own fist goes CLANK! against Tetsutetsu's jaw, forcing him to look up.

>"YOU CALL THAT A PUNCH!?" Kirishima taunts, quickly straightening himself and winding up another punch.

>"YOURS DIDN'T EVEN HURT AT ALL!!!!" Tetsutetsu replies, returning the gesture and punching.

A loud CLANK! rings on the stadium as their fists collide in mid air, actually sending goddamn sparks flying.

"WOOO!!!" You wordlessly cheer. You aren't really sure if they are actually doing anything to hurt each other, nor if they can even do it, but after the last match just watching hits connect is exciting. The sparks are just a bonus.

And there's no shortage of those, as they don't seem to want to try anything but punching really hard, barely bothering to dodge or block. Then again, why should they?

Besides, their banter itself is pretty fun too.

>"I'VE HAD BROWNIES HARDER THAN YOU!!!!" Shouts Tetsutetsu a few seconds later, just after Kirishima's fist hits him right between the eyes, seemingly doing nothing but noise, getting him to start trying to push closer.

CRACK! Goes then Kirishima's third attempt to stop him, as Tetsutetsu makes the mistake of raising a knee over his waist, giving Kirishima a window to punch his leg back down.

>"GET YOUR CHROME ASS BACK TO YOUR CORNER!" Kirishima roars, as Tetsutetsu reels back from the hit, raising his other leg and getting his other kneecap bashed.

>"Wait, is that allowed? Ain't that a hit below the belt?" Mina asks, leaning forwards to poke her head into your row.
>>
>"...Is not boxing. I mean, they keep just punching, but it's not boxing." Kyoka clarifies, looking somewhat confused. "...Actually, why doesn't anyone try to aim for the… Never mind. It wouldn't look very heroic."

But Tetsutetsu doesn't waste any time, stomping holes in the concrete to stabilize himself and kick off from, charging in the offence again.

And even though Kirishima takes the chance to drive his fist into Tetsutetsu's face, it's him who ends up reeling back, as Tetsutetsu's fist impacts the same spot on his chest once more with a resounding CRACK!

>"WHAT WAS YOUR QUIRK AGAIN, SANDSTONE!!!?" Tetsutetsu taunts as Kirishima tries to shrug off the impact.

It doesn't take him long, driving his fist into Tetsutetsu's face once more, but not doing any more damage than it did before.

"Is it just me, or isn't our hard boy doin' so well?" You ask, not totally sure if they are just putting on airs or not even their concrete shattering blows are being able to hurt them.

Kirishima then scores a punch to Tetsutetsu's guts, but once more, it just makes noise. That, and leaves him vulnerable after over extending… As vulnerable as he can be, that is.

>"I'm afraid I'll have to agree." Momo says, as Tetsutetsu punches Kirishima's angular elbow. "They are barely scratching each other, but it'll stack up and spiral down. And so far, it looks like Kirishima is getting the worst of it."

And as the match drags on and the brawl goes into its third minute of blows, your faith in your classmate wavers for just a second, as Tetsutetsu manages to punch him in the chest once more, in the same spot agait. But this time, you could swear the redhead's feet briefly left the ground, and the resulting CRACK!!! even reminds you of the attack at the USJ.

But even though that blow sent shiver through every ring in your skeleton, Kirishima just wipes the spit off his mouth and flashes a grin before rushing in again.

It's clear that he doesn't plan on surrendering, even after his charge is met with a fist to the face that turns his head about ninety degrees. And then back to center with another.

For a couple of seconds, Tetsutetsu has the upper hand, managing a pretty decent and loud uppercut to the jaw and even returning the same blow to the knees as Kirishima reels back.

Then he tries to advance again, getting shut down by a third solid punch to the knee.

And much like the hit to the chest Kirishima endured, it's clear Tetsutetsu felt that, as his legs wobble for an instant before seemingly locking up.

>"...Nah, he can do it." Mina assures you as the boys continue trading taunts and blows. "After all, he's still standing."

And even though minutes come to pass without any of them make any effect again, you have to admit that watching them hit each other is more interesting than watching an infomercial for products that aren't even on sale yet.

It's hard to be sure, but it seems like Momo was right, as Kirishima's blows look somehow weaker than Tetsutetsu's even though they started just as strong.

But like Mina said, he was still standing and just as determined as he was at the start of the match.

And if you needed a reason to keep believing in him, a minute later he manages to punch two of Tetsutetsu's own punches away, not only blocking them, but pushing his entire arms back and making Tetsutetsu grunt in pain...

But that's the last meaningful hit you manage to see.

"...Should someone stop them?" You ask as the ten minutes mark draws close and no further damage was being dealt on either side. If anything, the only one getting anything done was fatigue, as you could see them moving more sluggish by the minute, and stop their roaring for something that you could only describe as "manly panting". "Ah'm no so sure this is gettin' anywhere anytime soon.

Then, just as they started, they lock ankles once more, aiming for a finishing blow to each other's jaw!

...And falling over, as the built up damage and exhaustion catches up to them twenty seconds shy of the ten minutes mark.

>"THE CLOSEST THING TO A MIRROR MATCH I'VE SEEN AMONGST FRESHMEN, TETSUTETSU VS. KIRISHIMA, A REFRESHING FULL-ON CLOSE-QUARTERS BARE-KNUCKLED PUNCH-UP!!" Present Mic excitedly announces, before a twinge of confusion makes itself audible in his voice. "...BUT WHO WON?"

As expected, Midnight approaches them to check, but she just needs to look at them for a couple of seconds.

>"...They are both down! It's a draw!" She announces, looking around the stadium. "In the case of a draw, we'll decide the winner with a simple game after they both come to. Arm-wrestling should do it!"

>"...I hope he takes it well." Mina says, sounding a fair bit more serious than normal for a second. "Nah, what am I talking about, he just has to beat him in the arm wrestling thing!"

>"Think he can do it in less than ten minutes too?" Kyoka asks. "At least this next one shouldn't take that long."

>"Damn fucking right it won't." Bakugo says as he jumps off his seat in the row behind you and starts making his way to the stadium's inner maze. "Maybe having it on T.V. will make it stick."

It only makes Deku's scribbling a bit more frantic.

So, people on the discord have come up with a plan, run it by, and it's possible, but it's slightly contentious there so I'll throw it on here to see what y'all think.
The Shoto match is a match of Quirk vs. Quirk, and Shoto rolls way more dice than us in Quirk uses. It's a hard fight.
But if we were to shrink ourselves and the arena to the point that it's impossible for a normal sized person to be in the arena, there's no roll to save from that. If we need to shunt off some mass, we have a perfectly good coat to grow, but other than that it seems pretty airtight.

The whole contention is on whether we want to do this, it's not exactly a satisfying fight. But I do think it'd be a bit insulting to not do everything we can to win.
>>
>>2826683
It would leave us in a very, very bad position if it failed.
>>
>>2826686
That's the thing though, how could it fail?
>>
>>2826686
>>2826689

Also, what else can we do?
>>
>>2826689
Any plan can fail. That you can't see how this one can is pretty sad.

>>
>>2826683
So how exactly does that help us if he just covers the arena in ice if we can even shrink it? Or when he uses his fire in any regard? Our only chance against him is to go big not too big mind you or he can just knock us over, but big enough that we can survive his attacks.

>>2826719
You can do it, I believe in you.
Apply that critical thinking they taught you in school.
>>
>>2826727
Can't cover the arena in ice if he can't touch it, he needs to be touching something to freeze it and pulling it out from under him accomplishes that.
>>2826730
Hmm. Sorry.
>>
>>2826741
And how can you be sure that we can shrink it that much that accurately? What if we go to shrink it and it doesn't pull out from under his feet just makes it smaller he has the advantage in that scenario because then we have less room to escape his ice.
>>
>>2826750
Well, what we can do is look at what we've done before, and how much we can affect, which was established in thread one. Just recently we shrunk the rope and it drew closer to the point it was being shrunk from. Looking at the numbers from thread one, when we distributed Power for our Quirk, we can affect the entire ring with our Quirk.
>>
>>2826750
Doesn't matter how big the arena is cause Shoto can fill it with ice regardless. I think the point of the plan is more an element of surprise and making our opponent fight on our tempo.
>>
>>2826761
>>2826759
He has the advantage close range Fact. He has advantage over enemies the same size or smaller than him Fact. We have gotten the advantage over him previously by withstanding his output while we were large Fact. Throwing all of our established knowledge out the window for a few seconds of surprise on a plan that has more holes in it then Swiss cheese Stupid.
>>
>>2826782
We have no ability to combat him at range Fact. If he can't stand in the ring he loses Fact. We can grow back to a reasonable size immediately if a wrinkle occurs Fact. Shoto knows literally every single one of our tricks due to us training with him so going for this in a straightforward manner is likely to put us at a massive disadvantage.
>>
>>2826683
I love it. If we grow the arena back to full size afterwards, it’ll smack into him.

And if we empty our mass tank into the eart before the fight, we shouldn’t have to shunt off any mass.
>>
>>2826704

Without this strat I don't think we're getting past Shoto. In a straight fight he is stronger than us and he knows our other tricks. Also, depending on how injured they end up, there's a good change deku and bakugo wont reach the last round.
>>
>>2826683

>>
>>2827108
I brought it here because it's relevant combat planning, most of what's discussed on the Discord isn't. Sorry if I didn't convey that well in my post.
>>
I still say we should do the jacket trick: throw our jacket while simultaneously embiggening it, breaking line of sight and potentially trapping our opponent in a big blanket of thick, heavy cloth. Even against Shoto I think it could buy us a solid couple seconds.

Getting Ushi's abs on national television again is only a secondary benefit.
>>
>>2827130
Personally, I'm partial to using a series of sonic punches right at the start to break whatever defense or offense he starts to throw up (and, most importantly, before it's strong enough to withstand such a thing), while having the potential to damage and throw him around.
>>
>>2827136
>sonic punches

Have we tried anything like that before?
>>
>>2827116
I maintain the strategy is too finicky and relies on too many factors to go right. I feel it's better to biggify self, and charge in to close the distance. Our enlarged mass could probably help smash through the initial ice wave
>>
>>2827151
It'd be pretty funny if we ended up replicating the sparring match results. Papa E would probably lose his shit.
>>
>>2827141
I don't remember if we've actually done it before or not, but it's DEFINITELY been discussed in the threads before.
It's possible to pull off, I believe. It's the same logic behind austin tossin, sort of.
The idea is that we grow an arm as large as possible, as fast as possible, while aiming it at some poor son of a bitch.
Our quirk is fast enough to make a sonic boom when doing something like that, and it should have a LOT of force behind it due to that much mass moving so fucking quickly.
>>
>>2827163
Did you realize that Austin Tossin was super close to shredding our arm?
>>
>>2827175
Not as close as you're trying to say it was. It's been said previously that we can do it a few times before it's an issue, even if it does cause a lot of strain.
Besides that, Austin Tossin picks up a (usually heavy) object to throw, at least every single time we've used it before.

Besides that, we're going into this fight in pretty damn good condition, I'd assume. We've had plenty of time to take it easy and recover, just like everyone else.

Being in the row above his, the constant tapping and scratching of Deku's pen against his notebook doesn't quite bother you, but it's still somewhat interesting to see before the next match starts.

>"Deku… You know writing harder won't do anything, right?" Uraraka nervously asks, looking warily at the blur that is Deku's hand as it scratches more characters into being, deeper and deeper into the paper with each stroke. "Except maybe tearing up the pages."

>"Sorry! Sorry..." The green haired boy says, suddenly stopping and almost dropping his pen, fumbling with it midair for a second before managing to catch it, breathing deeply. "I… I just feel like there's still an angle, some hidden weakness that could give me an edge… but no matter how much do I look into it, I can't find anything new…"

"Hey, loosen up a bit, no way you can dodge anythin' bein' that tense, and unless you wanna sequence his DNA in that notebook of yours, Ah don't think you are gonna get more data in these last few minutes." You butt in from your seat. "Ah mean, you got him in the Battle Trial! Sure, he should have gotten better since, but Ah reckon that if you've kept up with your training too… I bet you can judo throw him off the ring!"

>"...Hasn't Bakugo proven he can maneuver while airborne?" Iida points out. "A long throw would let him recover."

"That just means he can do it again!" You joke, trying to lighten the mood a bit. "Seriously though, as long as you try to hurt him more than yourself, you should be fine!"

>"...Yeah!" Uraraka continues after a second, softly pushing Deku's hand away from his notebook. "This just means you already know all there is to know about him!"

>"You are one of the few in our class that I'd say has a fair shot at winning in a one versus one match against him." Iida adds, pointing first at Deku with a hand, then at the ring with the other, and finally at the screen showing both Deku and Bakugo as the next match.

"See! You can win this." You tell him, getting a nod in response.

>"I will." He says, with determination shining clear in his eyes. "I can't allow myself to be defeated now, even if it's against Kacchan."

>"Just do your best!" Uraraka cheers him on as he stands up, clenching his fists and looking ready for his fight.

>"I have to." He replies with the sound ...Then he turns around and carefully places his notebook and pen on his seat, making sure they won't roll or fall off. "There!"

Then he turns around again, walking his way into the stadium inner maze.

>"I'm sure he'll be fine." Uraraka comments a minute later, not sounding all that confident in her own words.
>>
"Sugar, Deku pretty much turned an entire building inside out with a punch back in the Battle Trial, and almost toppled our daiseijin." You remind her, then thinking back to your own worries about your classmate. "...Just gotta hope he keeps the recoil in check. Lemme tell you, tryin' to move with bone shards diggin' inside you ain't no funny business."

>"...Well, he was fine after recovering our 10000000 points." She states, somehow sounding more like she's bargaining instead. "I think he's gotten better."

>"Whether Midoriya has managed to fine tune his control over his quirk or has yet to do it won't be a mayor factor in this battle." Iida points out, looking away from the giant screen to look at the both of you with a smile. "Considering both of their power outputs, it's unlikely the match will last long enough for Midoriya's injuries to wear him down before one of them is out. Regardless of the victor, I'm sure it'll be a brilliant showcase of skill and creativity!"

You hope he's right, but don't get to make your agreement heard, as Present Mic's voice blasts through through the stadium, drowning everyone's chatter.

>"IT'S THE LAST MATCH OF THE FIRST ROUND..." He announces as Bakugo enters the ring with his hands in his pockets and scowling. Even from your seat up high you can see all his teeth.

>"HE'S BEEN SOMEWHAT OF A CELEBRITY SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL!!! BUT THAT'S NOT QUITE THE FACE OF A KID A GOOD PATH!!!" Present Mic introduces him, prompting him to take his hands out of his pockets and rolling up his sleeves. "FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEROICS, BAKUGO KATSUKI!!!"

>"VERSUS… WELL, HIS GRADES ARE GOOD AND ALL THAT, BUT WHAT'S WITH THAT FACE, KID? IT'S A RING NOT THE GALLOWS!!!" Present Mic says as Deku takes his starting position. "ALSO FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEROICS, MIDORIYA IZUKU!!!"

You are about to say something about that comparison when you manage to make out Deku's face.

...Yeah, that's a serious expression. Like, too serious for anything.

>"<START!!!>" Your english teacher shouts, and the fight beings.

Surprisingly for you, Deku is the one to take the initiative, rushing towards Bakugo the instant the fight starts.

Bakugo doesn't stay still though, swinging his right palm forwards to Deku's face, while sidestepping Deku's first, really telegraphed punch.

It was worse than Mina's! You expected better from him!

...Then in comes his left hand, flicking a finger at Bakugo's face from point blank with what sounds like the crack of thunder, instantly sending the blonde flying back.

But as you had come to expect from him, Bakugo stabilizes in less than a second, rocketeering his way back into the middle of the ring in an instant, landing in what has o be the most iconing landing a hero can try, a three points landing.

Of course, being Bakugo, the instant he touches the ring in front of Deku, it sounds like another thunder went off in the middle of the ring, as dust and smoke go flying, along with Deku.
>>
It's somewhat scary, as you can see a mix of blood and saliva trail from his all-too-wide smile, Bakugo blasts off after Deku, launching himself over him and sending him straight into the concrete with another blast before trying to land knee first on his guts.

Had it been someone else other than Deku, you would have been surprised at how fast he rolls out of the way after being hit like that. Hell, most of his jacket is gone!

Damn. Kid's ripped.

All in all, one hell of a show so far.

Even though hitting the concrete floor with his knee can't possibly be painless, Bakugo doesn't slow down at all, kicking off the ground with his other leg in hot pursuit of his foe.

Deku for his part, seems to have trouble hopping back to his feet after rolling away from Bakugo's landing but even though his legs visible shake, he manages to do it, hobbling a few feet away before turning around to face his pursuer, taking a lower and more stable stance as he does so.

"WOO!!! ONE MORE HIT LIKE THAT SUGAR! GET ONE MORE IN AND YOU'LL GET HIM!" You yell, jumping off your seat and loudly cheering for the nicer of your classmates in the ring.

>"...YOU CAN DO IT, DEKU!" Uraraka yells, not as loudly, but just as convinced, which is the really important part.

You almost want to look away as Bakugo rushes in with his left palm facing Deku, yelling something in a somewhat garbled japanese as he does so. You aren't completely sure if he said "DIIIIEEEEE!!!!!" or is just mad at the number four after getting a shockwave to the head, but you are pretty sure it's the first one.

>"...You'd think he'd know to keep his mouth shut with the Pros watching." Kyoka comments.

>"I don't think he really cares about that." Momo replies, focused on the fight. "More than putting on a show, he's just focusing on the fight itself."

"Ah reckon that kinda firepower ought to look good for some of the pros." You add, trying to keep your attention and energy on the fight below. "ONE PUNCH, MAN! I BET HE CAN TAKE ONE HIT!!!"

And you are glad you are paying attention, as it's the first time you see a vertical shockwave. Making out the detail was hard, but you are sure you saw Deku flick his finger at the rushing Bakugo after securing his footing, as you expected. Seeing Bakugo almost match it was far less expected, as his hand lit up and his explosion and Deku's shockwave clashed, causing a straight crack to split the ring in half between them and forming a very wide cone of broken concrete to fly in a ring, creating a large but relatively thin dust cloud, only obscuring the view for an instant, but getting dust everywhere.

"-cough cough cough- <For fuck's sake, it's in my hair!>" You yell as the dust settles down. In your hair and cleavage! It itches!

With his explosion turning a concrete shattering shockwave into a strong wind, Bakugo is able to push through, using a hand behind him to boost himself into melee range in an instant, while swinging his right one for what looks to be a finishing blow.

But Deku manages to slow him down to a crawl, matching Bakugo's boosted explosion with the flick of a finger and nearly annihilating his momentum, widening the crack by what looks like an inch and flat out cleaving the concrete arena in two.

"WOOO!!!" You wordlessly cheer, unable to find the right words. Ideally some that didn't involve swearing at the chaffing dust.

Awed as you are by how much fucking firepower is being thrown about, you can't stop to look at the ring itself, not with Deku taking the chance presented by the slowly falling Bakugo, sidestepping him and sliding his arms under Bakugo's armpits as fast as he can, managing to force Bakugo's arms to point away from him.

"A FULL NELSON!!!?" You yell, excited. "That's… That's a good idea."

>"As long as he keeps Daisy's hands away, he has the advantage." Kyoka points out. " May even have some fingers left by the end of this."

"This is his chance!" You tell her, excited at seeing a melee engagement being not-punching nor one-tap victory. It's much more sporting this way.

>"...I'm not familiar with wrestling, so please excuse my ignorance, but what can he do after securing the hold?" You hear Momo ask.

"...!" You start opening your mouth, but find no real answer to give. A Full Nelson doesn't transition easily into any finishing action other than cranking the neck until the opponent gives up in pain or damages a vertebrae. "Can't you win by immobilizin'' your enemy here?"

>"That might just work…" Momo says, looking at the hold below.

For a second or two you see them struggle, with Deku holding on and pulling on Bakugo's shoulders, pushing his neck down and seemingly causing some serious pain, as shown by Bakugo's face managing to look madder than you have ever seen, almost looking like a rabid badger as he fires weak and erratic explosions from his open hands, unable to move his arms.

>"Did he get him?" Uraraka asks, looking up at you and forcing you to lean forwards to see her.

"I can't be sure, sugar. It's a mighty fine submission hold Deku got there, but there ain't no perfect hold." You tell her, looking back to the fight. "Heck, Ah can't be sure Bakugo won't damage his spine just to spite De-..."

Then, amidst all the explosions, you manage to see how Bakugo sneaks a leg behind Deku's, hooking his ankles together and knocking the green haired boy off balance. Then he fires massive explosions from both of his hands, sending them both back in a downwards angle, slamming Deku's back against the ring and skipping together along the concrete like stones on water as Bakugo continues to fire more explosions, each visibly weaker than the last, but still more than strong enough to drag them to the end of the ring enveloped by a cloud of dust.

For a couple of seconds, no one makes a sound, as the dust settles and reveals that Deku's grip slipped, allowing Bakugo to roll over and stand up, raising his guard and hands as Deku takes to his knee and raises his hands, ready to flick a fourth finger at Bakugo.

"C'mon…" You say, half whispering and half wishing...

… But his finger slips as he collapses forwards, with the few remaining threads of his jacket revealing what looks like the nastiest and largest case of road rash you've ever seen taking up his entire back.
>>
Even Midnight looks somewhat appalled at Deku's condition as she approaches to check on him..

"...Midoriya is unable to move. Bakugo advances to the next round!" She quickly announces before turning around to a familiar pair of robots waiting by the ringside. "Bring her to Recovery Girl."

>"UHM… I'M GLAD WE DIDN'T HAVE TO STOP THEM." Present Mic says, sounding a fair bit less enthusiastic than usual. "MAN, POOR KID…"

>"Bakugo gets to advance to the next round after a relatively impressive display of skill and power from both fighters." Mr. Aizawa says, taking over his colleague's commentary. "We'll have a short break now that the first round is over to let the students prepare for their coming matches. We'll also get the results of the tie-breaker during the break."

You could swear Bakugo looks almost disappointed as he turns his back on Deku, before putting his hands back in his pockets and walking off the ring, leaving through the opposite gate with a sneer and a limp.

He may be trying to hide it, but he's either gonna pay Recovery Girl a visit, or his next opponent will wipe the floor with him. He must be all black and blue under his jacket...

>"I need a drink." Uraraka suddenly says, standing up. "Do you want anything, Iida?"

>"Now that you mention it, I'd like something to drink too." He answers, as earnest as always.. "Just make sure it's not carbonated, please."

>"Yeah, sure." She replies, walking away.

>"She's gonna go check on Midoriya." Kyoka then comments, looking at her go.

>"Absolutely." Momo says, nodding. "Going that way would make her go through the entire stadium to get anywhere near the concession stands."

Well, Deku did pretty good without going full Smucker's mode. Daisy's probably sperging under the skin knowing that he wasn't good enough of toast for Deku to go all out on.

I just realized we may not be able to shrink the arena now. Deku and Bakugo split it in two. So unless it's repaired before our match we'll probably only shrink our half if we try.

Well, I started this thread at a bad time for me, sorry for the terrible update rate.

Also, I really don't want to start a fight in page 10.

I'll start the next thread in some days, when I'm able to be consistent again. I'm not dropping this quest, nor do I plan on ever doing it.

Again, sorry.
