>You gain 3500XP for destroying your enemies.
>You now have 20125.

You take a moment to catch your breath and slowly rise. The orc leader's body lies dead before you.
Oakheart: "We're done here."
>"What happens now?"
He withdraws a potion from his cape. "Do whatever you want, as long as it isn't looting Clarcton property. As for me, I'm needed at the front lines..."
He tosses the potion onto the fallen body of Hack Ravage. Green mist bursts out and seeps into to his body through the cracks in his armour.
Oakheart: "...bye."
Oakheart departs the room, passing by Salaman as the latter enters. He looks over your severe injuries for a few moments.
Salaman: "...you alright?"
>"I think i'm okay. What happened to you? You're hit."
He scowls.
Salaman: "Oakheart happened. At least he didn't chase me...hey is that guy still alive?"
He points to Hack Ravage, lying in a crimson pool on the floor. He replies weakly.
Ravage: "I'm not dead yet... my eyes. I can't see."
You and Salaman drag him over to a table and sit him upright, his injuries are slowly regeneratin. His eyes are badly mangled, not a speck of white to be

seen.
Salaman: "Christof listen. I was thinking I might sit the rest of this battle out. I could take this guy to safety."

>"Scared?"
>"Sit out? What changed your mind?"
>"Sure thing Salaman."
>"I could really use your help Salaman. We could just escort Ravage until we find a guard."
>"I need to find Alina and Ulric, they might need my help."

Salaman: "Yeah. That orc diviner in gray over there probably made it. Anyway i'll take this guy to safety."
>"I will go to the front lines too"

You take your leave with a valuable crystal ball and the knowledge that Hack Ravage is in good hands.

You start heading further into Clarcton in the direction opposite to the breach. You're not sure where the fighting is right now but the town is only so big. You'll find a sign soon enough.
You seen encounter three warriors patrolling the streets. They bear shields with the mark of Edis, god of Chivalry.

Paladin: "Thine wounds art grave friend. Doth thou require my healing light?"
He raises his hand in preparation of healing magic.

>"Thanks I'm pretty injured"
>"Grace to thee. thy kindness is appreciated-eth"

Paladin: "In the name of Edis I heal thy wounds"
You're bathed in a warm relaxing healing light your injuries quickly vanish leaving you at full health.
>"Where's the battle? I'm needed on the front!"
Paladin: "The orc horde hath fled to a district named Strudin Place, it lies over yon"
He points over into the distance.
>"Why are you here instead of fighting?" you ask in your least accusative tone .
Paladin: "The orcs hath surrendered! They are beaten but the wary Arch Duke hath ordered the orcs anihilation. Some of our order continue to fight, the rest of us hath turned away, unwilling to take part in the genocide"

>"Sounds like my kind of Duke."
>"Ridiculous, orcs are inherently blood-thirsty. There's nothing wrong with exterminating them."

>"Have you seen a girl anywhere? About this tall, blonde hair, leather armour? Or a boy with a golden sword?"
Paladin: "Thy friends I hath not seen I'm afraid."
>"Oh well thanks for the help I should get going"
Paladin: "Fair thee well"

You head off in the direction of Strudin Place. Keeping a close eye out for Alina and Ulric. There isn't very much damage here, it seems both the orcs and humans wanted the buildings intact. A few odd buildings have been torn up to act as make-shift defences but otherwise it seems the townspeople will still have their homes.
You see a pair of guardsman in a damaged building and approach them to ask about Alina and Ulric. When you get closer you see they're hurrying around snatching valuables and stuffing them into sacks. They glare at you as you come up to them.
Blackyard Guard: "What are you looking at?"

Blackyard: "Get off your high horse chump. I need the money, the owners are probably dead anyway"
Dorito: "That federal soap tax they implemented 10 years ago has been killing me!"

>"Have you seen a girl anywhere? About this tall, blonde hair, leather armour?
Blackyard: "Of course I've seen her, she's the only girl on the battlefield. I wouldn't mind seeing her once this whole thing is over heh heh."
Dorito: "She's probably at Strudin Place if she's still alive"

>"Umm thanks... bye"

Blackyard: "Hmmph your alright I guess."

You clasp on Xorag's cloak. You don't feel very different but Salaman thinks it's magic. What harm could wearing it bring?
Following the paladin's directions and street signs you find your way to Strudin. There are more signs of combat here, dead bodies of both human and orc, used ballista bolts and stones have spread rubble around the battlefield.
You see Captain Appleby and some guardsmen fighting orcs in the park and rush to help them. When you engage you find that these orcs have been zombified. You engage one that's coming up behind the captain while the others deal with the rest.

You are now in combat.

You batter the z'orc twice with your hammer. Doing 8 and 6 damage. The zombie doesn't seem particularly vulnerable to bludgeoning damage.
The z'orc slams you for 6 damage.

You flurry again doing 5+9 damage.
The z'orc power attacks but you evade its clumsy assault.

You continue your blitz doing 14+6 damage. The z'orc doesn't notice as a chunk of flesh goes flying from its body.
The z'orc flurries you for 2+3 damage

You flurry again (It's not like this thing is smart enough to counter attack) this time doing 13+15 damage. The final blow sends the orcs head on a 180 degrees vacation with an audible crack.
The creature drops dead.

>You gain 300 XP
>You now have 20425

Your allies defeat their opponents more or less at the same time.

Captain Appleby: "Fine kill, Christof was it?"
>"That's right, have you seen a girl with blonde hair and a boy with a golden sword?"
Appleby: "Alina and her companion are up that watch tower just over there. Tell me Christof did you succeed in your mission?"

>"Yep, Killed the bastard myself."

>"It was a tough fight but we managed to defeat him."
Cpt. Appleby: "Good work, his death makes this victory complete!"
>"Where did all these zombies come from anyway?"
Cpt. Appleby: "The orcs had at least one necromancer raising the dead throughout the battle. He must of died at some point leaving all the zombies out of control. Now they've just spread out randomly attacking both sides."
Appleby Guard: "There were human zombies too they weren't as tough but they're way more unnerving to fight."
>"Are Alina and Ulric okay?"
Cpt. Appleby: "They're uninjured I healed them myself. The boy seems to be suffering from necromantic ailments but is otherwise fine."
>"Thanks for taking care of my friends. Bye."
Cpt. Appleby: "Goodbye"
Appleby Guard: "See you"
Appleby Guard: "Later"

You enter the watch tower and climb the ladder. Your step off the last rung onto the planked floor to see Alina and Ulric.
Alina: "Christof you're safe!"
Ulric: "Hey! Nice cape"
>"Nice to see you two made it out okay"
Alina: "Wait. Where's Salaman?"
Ulric: "Did something happen to him!?"
>"He's fine he just taking care of a wounded ally."
Ulric: "I can't see any enemies through the loopholes, have we won?"
Alina: "Me neither, I think the orcs are finished."
>"We've done it, Clarcton is free."

You gain 6000 XP.

That's all for now. Thanks for playing. Seeker Quest will return in a week.

When the story continues it will be at a celebration after the battle. During the feast you I'll narrate up to three conversations between two characters (they can be two npcs or you talking to an NPC as normal) I'll present the choices for next week's update now:

>Alina
>Ulric
>Salaman
>Hack Ravage
>Oakheart
>Arch Duke
>qt serving girl
>write in

Oh yeah I'm also curious;
Were all of you guys in the Very Bad Samurai quest?

I'll vote for this in the morning when I can think.

>>2840008
Hell, I made a meme for it
>>
>>2840007
So we can have 2 NPCs with us per conversation right? if yes, then this:
>1st - Alina and Ulric
>2nd Salaman and Hack Ravage
>3rd Arch Duke
>>2840008
Didnt participate live, I mostly lurked. Was pretty gud though
>>
>>2840097

Actually I meant either you can talk to an NPC or I can write a short interaction between 2 NPCs while Christof isn't present.
>>
>>2840106
In that case
>Salaman
>Hack Ravage
>Arch Duke
Gotta talk to Salaman about the orb, check up on how Hack Ravage is doing. And talking to the Arch Duke is an opportunity we can't miss

>>
>>2840007
>>Salaman
Gotta agree we need to chat with him. Curious about the gear and he seemed a bit off. Perhaps a gut wound just soured his mood.

>>Hack Ravage
Wanna check up on him.

>>Arch Duke
Cool dude wanna know more about him.
>>Alina
>>Ulric
Wanna touch base with them, but not high priority.
Kinda want to see Ulic having a chat with an Archduke. Comedy might ensue. I'm imagining Alina trying to speak pleasantly with the Archduke while Ulric eats and drinks in the middle.
But that's a threesome.

Hey hold on, did we level up? I think we passed the threshold by ~5000 exp.
If so, we should invest in some Evocation.
>>
>>2846265
>Hey hold on, did we level up?
yes

>we should invest in some Evocation.
Could do, but the higher level you get the longer it takes to level and get more skill points, just going from 0 to 80 will take 4 levels. Also some ranged evocation spells rely on the ranged stat to hit.
>>
>>2846276
True, but we don't need to use ranged spells; it would just be good to have something to supplement our melee game. Like, say, if there was something that we couldn't just pound x4 with our hammer, or if it wasn't effective to do so.
>>
>>2840007
hm... supporting >>2840444

>>2840008
I enjoyed it, was a pleasant surprise to see your name on the archive tags.

>>2846265
we need 10 points in evocation to cast shocking grasp, which we already know. I'm hoping we can invest at least that, so we can conduct electricity through our hammer.
>>
>>2846380
yeah but your chance to cast a spell in live combat is ( SKILL - LEVEL * 10 ) so an evocation of 11 gives a 1% chance of success.
Christof would be able to cast shocking grasp 100% outside of combat but only if he had prep time to cast it
>>
>>2846400
Baby steps, Anon; we need more tools in our arsenal. One day we're going to meet something we can't just whack with a hammer.
>>
>>2846400
it may not be worth it then, seeing as we're already level 7 and can't expect too many more level ups in the near future.

>>2846563
I agree with this, but most of the time we can just whack things with our hammer. I think crushing to 100 first, then evocation.
