Sometime long forgotten in somewhere long lost people still struggle in the same age old fight. Desperate times find unlikely candidates to enact their will. On this lonely rock a people fight for their freedom. Without much recourse they fall to the aid of those lost in the aether. They go by many names: “drifters”, “travelers”, “strays”, sometimes “orphans”. No matter the title the same outcome inadvertently results: pure chaos. The streets are roaring and the music’s playing. Let’s see what you do this time Orphans.

Iron Street Orphans is a community driven role playing game played within a thread updated daily. Character creation and mechanics are simple and take less than 20 minutes to learn. Once a character has been created post actions with green text using the “>”.

The game uses a roll under 1d10 system. Characters use AP to do actions during phases. Once players and enemies complete their phase a turn is completed.

Background:
Kincaid is a man who believes firmly that the best way to solve problems is to face them head on. Having bounced from gang to gang throughout his youth, he grew a talent for melee combat and swords in particular. Deep underground in a room two sisters rush by slamming an ancient door behind them. The din of chaos is muffled by the ancient structure. They’re accompanied by the sounds of screams and clawing on the other side.

Elpis: Fucking Yellow Jackets! Silvers must be behind this. Those morons bring a whole Fallen colony on us and get themselves locked in the fucking power room.

Thalia: What the fuck do we do? Those monsters will get through and the whole district will become a wasteland if they get topside.

Elpis paced back in forth in frustration. The elder sister gasped as she realized their solution was right in front of them. She looked at the large circular structure floating in the air. It was a gate to other worlds. A dangerous device that had already brought fortune and now tragedy.

The clawing and screaming gets louder. Elpis points towards the door glaring at her sister.

The ancient structure groans and hums. A flash illuminates the room and out falls a figure. Elpis grabs the figure and drags them away from the still active gate. The figure still reeling from their journey tries to stand but collapses. Elpis without even acknowledging the freed Stray steps over them and makes her way to the gate.

Elpis: Good we have our first one. How many more can you get?

Thalia: Maybe 10? El, without access to the power room we migh-

Elpis: None of that will matter if we’re dead. Keep getting more.

Thalia complies and dutifully finds more. With each figure the structure groans and whirls. Thalia forces more power through the gate as it loses hold of the passage. Spires of light and energy crack and a final figure falls through. With them the room is enveloped in darkness. Elpis grabs a torch from her pocket and snaps it on. The figures wretch and groan.

Elpis: Sis good job. Get the “Bastion” open.

Thalia complies. After a hum and wave of her hands a small portal breaks apart. Elpis catches her sister and helps her to the ground as she collapses from the strain. She then stands over the miserable figures.

Elpis: Alright are you alive? Do you understand us? Don’t ask where or when we are because we don’t know ourselves. We have some Fallen out side that want our matter. Not sure what a Fallen is? Don’t worry just kill them. We can’t let this Waystation fall and you’re going to help us. It’s the least you can do after getting you out of the Aether. My sister Thalia opened a gate to our own armory. Grab what looks useful and get ready.

The Strays comply grabbing what they can from the cache and getting themselves ready. Just as the last of them don their wares the door fails and white monstrosities flood into the room.

You're bending the wind, why are you trying to throw soft targets with no visible concussive-vulnerable vitals into a ceiling some 10 meters up? It's hardly going to inconvenience them.

Stop trying to throw them up, start trying to flatten them against the ground. Up the air friction to cause a heat-shock reaction. Rip an arm off. Cause a counter-spinning riptide or localised whirl.

Understand that everything is an abstraction that incorporates ability, potency, and accuracy into a single roll.

Manipulate: using the earth around you which in one instance means you can make cover

Defend: is doing stone flesh on yourself to defend the same as block. Defend effectively lets you do a defensive action in lieu of the defense proficiency so defending with wind or speed would have the same effect as dodge. Some affinities are not as conductive to physical defenses as other such as defending with Memories.

[Touch] in a purely mechanical sense is an incentive to attack at melee range with your vectors.
