Welcome to the skirmish game called Everwinter company, a skirmish set in a fantasy world where mercenaries lives are weighed in silver and adventurers in gold. You have joined a small mercenary band named [Everwinter company] led by two former adventurers, a theurgist named Lenoy Lockwood, and a Hedge knight named Nygar Tuskbreaker.
To recap for those who wish to know, the company has accepted and embarked upon the contract to relieve a town of some raiders. As circumstances and Luverer the bardic god would like to say chances and choices take a turn for the worst as the company with the aid of a requisitioned mortar and conscripted drow villagers now deals with the threat of Vilandry and her 'pet' golem.

>As always if you wish to get into the game below is the char sheet and if you require assistance in making your char please do not hesitate to ask. I welcome any new players that wish to play.

The company moves to action as David pierces Vilandry's chest with his sword, precious lifeblood pouring out the gash as she is shocked by a potent spell by Tloxotl.
To the east Aram kneecaps the beast as he stabs once, twice and his spear finds home through a kink of the armor. To the north Batter roars in defiance as he cleaves a drow.
Otto meanwhile, experiences another surge of heat but instead of it burning the flesh from his bones it instead feels warm...inviting even.

"I'll...I'll..Ki---kill" Vilandry weakly mutters as the blood loss takes its toll on her body as angry as her demeanor may be her strikes with her runed dagger are weak pitiful even in the eyes of a man of the blade as David merely raises his shield blocking the advance. A drow warrior rushes to her side as she mutters to herself.
The golem however as stunned and nearing death as it may be still makes its presence known as it bats Nygar like a toy but not before it receives another slash from his blade cleaving it off before it turns to Aram as it clumsily swings its blade.
Batter however as wounded as he may be his body takes the toll from another blade threatening to loose his grip on life once more.

Meanwhile the company turns towards the better part of the mercenaries life...LOOT! Well more looting the dead but still!

Tzig armed with a shovel digs out the remains and finds a dusty elven bow from one of the archers hands. It seems that she was a veteran before her unlikely death from roof. Nonetheless it should prove useful especially with that rune on it a lucky find!

The battle comes to an end as the last drow drops her weapon the light from the runed blade winking out as it hits the ground signaling the end of the battle and the victory's the company.

Those that lie dying on the ground are granted a quick end by the end of a boot or the blade of a dagger. The four that are still living are escorted off by sword point or the one captured by Aram brought to a villager who knows the art of medicine and amputation.

Eventually the dead are counted and marked the three that are alive are later brought to the emissary who looks at him with a look of a eldar accosting a child. "Vilandry you were an excellent student, your family was noble, and with time you could have been a artificer yet you risked it all, lead twenty souls that now lie dead and their souls carried over to the void, killed the wise women of the village, and slain the craftsman for what?"
He asked as he gazed at Vilandry who now bandaged struggled against her bonds cursing under her breath all the while.

Sighing he walked off as she was gagged and bound along with the other three towards Nygar and the company.
"You have done me and the village a kindness for ridding us of the menace I assure you Vilandry will be escorted to be judged by the seers council. What she has done to the village will strike her back thrice fold. While I do not have much in the value of monetary what I can do is get you into contact of a instructor within Hawthorne academy in Bolton. I am sure that she would be more than glad to instruct a few of you in the art of rune fencing, or as many people like to call them eldritch knights. Practitioners of both spell and blade they normally take those of noble birth but I am sure that with a letter of recommendation they can be convinced to look the other way for a company of hero's. " He said as he handed Nygar a letter who took it. "Even if your men do not wish to become one I am sure that having the option to simply purview it's libraries and practice within their halls will benefit them greatly."
Nygar simply glared at the man and the letter focusing at the wax seal at the letter the sign of the scale was marked on it. "And who are you exactly?" He asked as he pocketed the letter away for use.
"Me? I am simply a merchant born from this village I travel around the forts selling the wares of this village. Runic examination, magical trinkets what have you, when you met me I recently had finished consulting with Wards about the findings of explorers and where we shall plan the next trade course. Until I had received word about what Vilandry had done and so I had hired you. On the behalf of the village, I would like to thank you for what you have done here today. While It may have ended in bloodshed at least the end was right."
>>
>>2875712
With that the emissary left leaving Nygar and the company by themselves. "Alright mercenaries, let's see if we can get some profit off of this mess." Nygar said as he idly kicked a rock around.

>Every mercenary is rewarded with 50 silvers in the form of scrap that will be sold later and a Skill and self point for surviving. (skill tree's coming soon so hold off on that.)

>In addition if you wish to do anything, please post so.

For David and batter's eyes only.
Batter: As you idly search through the belt pouch of a fallen drow it evokes the memory of your former companions doing the same to the slain. Wills that were scavenged were quickly given to officials, silvers and weapons were pocketed. Spars, jokes and more were had the following day as were spars and lessons. War is a quick yet brutal teacher and a mercenary a student. Past life benefit: [Adaption+] Bonus to missing becomes 20%

David: Later as the battle comes to an end, you sat down and examined your weapons a lonely shield and a sword. The two had endured the bite of drowish scimitars and fenced with Orcish axe and goblin daggers. Lessons of war to say the least, but yet potential within you.

Looking through you don't find much, a focus a robe similar to yours but in a much more...revealing apperance.
What you do manage to find is a scroll, a little burnt it seems to be written in the name of man rather than drow. Most likely the reason why it wasn't used.
>Gain scroll [Electric Dynamo] As a action cast out a electric orb that pushes back humanoid foes a hex away before erupting and dealing damage to all within the hex for 4 lightning.

>What are scrolls?
Scrolls are spells put into a written form, they can be used by anyone. They cost an act to use but require no roll and do not cause haywires either due to the arcane wards written within the scroll.
In addition spell casters can spend a skill point to learn from it not consuming said scroll.

>The golem dissected and studied.
Assembling a quick set tools, and with the help of Otto along with Marcus the three of you strap on thick leather gloves and an apron and get to work.
Looking or more cutting through the skin you find that the creature’s skin more resembles a beast hide than anything else. As if it were gathered from another and transplanted, it could certainly be tanned if you were to desire but as one of you begin to gather some of it into a vial of water. A black substance begins to seep from the hide and begin to discolor and corrupt the water, producing an oily substance that is as pitch black as the night sky. Peering through the substance the three of you note that it begins to absorb the light leaving little to no reflection. In addition, you begin to note that the bottom of the cork touching the water has begun to corrupt. Taking on a more sinister look, as tendrils of the substance have grown on the bottom of it. The glass however is unaffected, after some thought a nickname is given to it called Black water. Marcus and Otto begin to discern through observation that the substance seems to be of the more supernatural behavior able to change or alter substances.

As for the flesh of the creature experimentation and after implements are used to cut through it and isolate it. You discover it is quite mundane, even after isolating a sample of it in a vial of water like with the Black water yields nothing. Looking through you notice that the flesh was sewed or more fastened together with metal bindings. Crude work fit for the creation of such a monstrosity than anything else. Although the beast does not bleed you do manage to poke through a gland within the beast that begins to discharge a greenish milky liquid. The smell from the ichor is foul nauseating even, the substance is quickly drained and placed into a glass bottle. Tzig begin to recognize it as substance that when combined with a few mundane herbs is often imbibed before an encounter with the undead or more importantly those that kill the living for sustenance.
The bones of the creature although humanoid seem to be of a much denser material. Striking an arm bone with a chisel leaves surprisingly less indentation than expected, later experimentation with trepanning requires having to use a mallet and chisel than the proper tools provided for such a task.
Eventually time begins to pass by as the golems' anatomy is quickly sketched and descriptions are made on paper which was luckily in supply. By then the company has begun to pack their supplies and ready to leave for Bolton. The only decision is what to make do with the hide, and who shall bear the milky ichor.

After the event the leather aprons, gloves and implements are stored within a cask of spirits to cleanse them of ichor and potential contaminants Catalogs are stored away in a case and hands are washed to rid them of the sweat overall a enlightening experience for all involved.

>Tzig gains a increase of 10 to his apothecary skill, from knowledge gained due to dissecting the creature and learning from the experience of dissection and surgical experimentation.
>Marcus and Otto gain access to learn the [Herbalism] (60) skill from the experience. A skill point will have to be used to learn the skill however..
>In addition Tzig gains a bottle of milky ichor (counts as four uses of it) , it seems to be of a substance that is nauseating to mortals but is poisonous to the undead and nauseating to beasts that feast on flesh and blood.
-One of it's main purposes combined with mundane herbs can produce a substance that poisons the human blood to a degree that nauseates the imbiber but does not harm. Later when the imbiber is struck by a undead or bitten by a beast they are afflicted with the poisonous properties of the ichor.
>Lastly he has to decide whether he shall take the hide as it is and cure it into a leather, or perhaps extract the substance known as Black water from it. The implications for use of it in alchemy or attempting to imbue it are unknown but certainly are there. Although that will have to be performed with care due to the unknown nature of the substance.

As the company begins to depart from the battlefield you take the moment, examine one of the weapons from the golem.
The blade itself does not seem to be made of metal but instead of a glossy material, looking similar to flint but tinged a deep black. Looking at it you wonder if it can even hold the clashing of steel upon it nonetheless inspecting the edge you find that it's sharp as cut glass. A experiment with cutting paper yields confirmation as you easily slide the blade through the material. Looking at it, and asking a drow he tells you that the blade is made of a toughened obsidian and that it is meant more for striking than it is for parrying. Taking the information in kind you take the two weapons and head off with the others.

>Gain two: Obsidian Blades 5 slashing damage AP 1
-Glass edge: When critting, instead of dealing additional damage you afflict a bleed status of 3 to your foe.

>Marcus finishes drying off his hands and then puts the rag back with the rest of the surgical supplies
"Frankly, my vote is that we milk out this 'Black Water' rather than just skin the thing. This beast has a sturdy hide that could make great armor I know, but there are many other beasts out there that can provide the same. I've never read about anything quite like this substance we've found, and I'm not quite sure if we'll find any of it again anytime soon. I'll have to ask about it when we visit Hawthorne, but just in case its something completely new it would be good to take samples, no?"
>He looks at the vial of it we already have
"I'd say we either grab one of our Nulls to help with the bottling or failing that you do it, it's not out of the question that this stuff could play havoc on the magically attuned among us. I'd offer the help of my Unseen Servant but that miscast took the last of my energy."

>Due to wanting to progress the plot and advance onto =Fort phase= the story will be progressed to it, tzigs decision will still appear and will be available however so do not fret there..

Eventually as the dead are piled into stacks waiting to be buried or burnt depending on the culture. The company leaves the village with the gratitude of villagers and a letter to prove their deeds for the day. The wagon is loaded with procured supplies from the village, the mortar is once again wrapped in a black cloth as the gunners are dismissed the company thankful for their quick service. While a certain Drow now enduring the loss of a leg and eye joins the company as a clerk dressed in a much more appropriate garb fit for a scribe than say the dress she wore more fit for a *****.

>Later as the company gathers to begin march, packs at the ready and changed into something more suitable for the road nygar stands at the front.
"While the job had meager pay it does feel good to be praised as a good man hopefully the next time we will be paid a bit but still it feels good to be a hero every now and then. Alright mercenaries our time here is done, let's head back home." Nygar announces as he gathers his pack and with a wave the wagon and the company begins the long march back to Bolton.

Life on the road, is as boring as it is odd in the new world. Along the way druids groves are encountered and rested in, animals are hunted for and butchered, while personal oddities are encountered along the way as the days roll by one after another.
Eventually with worn boots and a light heart the company eventually finds it's way back to the walls of Bolton. Musketeers and archers man the ramparts as they observe the landscape for signs of dangers.
A quick chat with them reveals the toll for passing into the town, a show of papers and coin later opens the gates for the company. Lenoy looks towards the company as they begin to offload their belongings, and the scrap pay from the cart.

"I will be heading towards Hawthorne academy to deliver the letter the merchant gave us. Those of you wish to accompany me you are welcome, but do beware as the students within it are much younger than all of you and do not take kind towards those who are of common birth especially mercenaries. Otherwise you are free to mill around as you wish, the meeting hall for the company will be within the dawns light, a inn. I believe that is all mercenaries, I will be studying within so you are welcome to ask me questions." With that he leaves, leaving the mercenaries to mill about and reacquaint with the town after a hard fought battle and a weary march.

Before I begin pushing out the newest series of updates, 'skills and talents' patch.
I would like to remind players the following.
>Players that did not participate may redeem still redeem skill point, but do not gain a self point or any rewards from the battlefield. Whether that be in silver or death.
>Upon entering =Fort phase= spell points are restored back to their maximum, present conditions are dispelled with the passage of time, and wounds are patched and health restored to a fighting condition -maximum.
>Update to veterancy marks, newly made mercenaries now begin with +1 skill point which they may spend however they wish in addition to also having the option to instead use it and start in a archetype. (Archetypes will be explained later)

>Everwinter company update: "Skills, oddities and talents all within the minds and hands of man."
-From now on, each class within the game has their own progression tree to gain skills from. Gaining a skill costs a skill point to gain. In addition unless otherwise specified they cannot 'borrow' or gain skills from other progression tree. Skills may be picked in whatever order the player wishes. Below is the progression tree for Errant's, Revenants and Warriors.
>Reminder that past skills such as [Field craft], [Mauler], and other skills may still be improved with a skill point.

-Errant progression tree:
-. [Anticipation] You may overwatch against spells, actions, attacks and conditional effects for both allies and enemies.
An example: If [name] is hit by enemy throw potion, if not hit group of goblins near him.

- [Bow/Bullet trick] When {focusing} you can apply one of three modifiers to your weapon when attacking, {Penetrating} which when targeting a squad when the target is killed half of the weapons damage carry's over to another enemy within the squad, in addition it can be used to stick a projectile into a surface, [Ricochet] which allows the user to manipulate items, weapons and more from a distance and [Threaded] which fires a rope to your target.

-.[Fast hands] Switch from one weapon or use an item as a [Once tap].

-. [Fortune's favored] Only accessible by errants, you gain 2 luck points at the start of the battle. These luck points may be spent to do one of the following.
-[Can’t believe I missed this] You pick up a random object that favors you.
-[Better lucky than good] You may reroll a result after it is decided. Examples include, attacks, skills, spells you have casted etc.
-[NANI!!??!] Spend two points and something improbable that favors you happens.
-. [Double team]: when you're attacking an enemy that an ally is near, both you and the other mercenary gains +15 to your ballistic or weapon skill.

- [Evasion] Only accessible by errant's when wearing Dr 2 or lower armor, gain a 25% chance that you evade the attack entirely.

-. [Stealth] (65), The art of becoming, and remaining hidden. Whenever you strike a enemy while hidden, when striking a creature you gain +2 AP to your damage but each time you attack you have a chance to reveal yourself.
>>
>>2885573

-Revenant progression tree

[Terrify] "What do you think of death?"
-You may as an action generate a 1 AOE aura centered upon yourself, this aura provides a penalty to all creatures regardless of the skill or action equal to your health times 1.5 this aura affects everyone within it unless they are one of your ilk.
[Practice and Remembrance] Learn a skill of your choice from other progression tree’s. This skill can be repeated on letting the player gain different skills from other classes.

[“The old world is still alive.”] Become immune to fear effects, whenever fighting a monster that causes fear your critical chance becomes from 1/4 to 1/5.

[Immovable object] Whenever you are shoved or moved by a creature, you rebut and drive the beast back.

[Wrath] "Reach heaven through violence."
-Every 2 points of damage you sustain generates a 'wrath' point
-Wrath points may be used to upgrade any stat for a single turn.
-Exchange rates are as follows: +10 hit, 1 wrath point, +1 damage, 2 wrath points, +1 movement, 2 wrath points, +1 act 6 wrath points
-Upon death you will gain points of wrath equal to half of your total health however they must be spent on the same turn that the [undying] feature is used.

-Warrior progression tree
-. [Frenzy] Only avalible to warriors as a mauler action incite yourself into a frothing rage using whatever means available. When in this state, each enemy killed increases your damage of that weapon by +1 to a maximum of ½ (rounded up) your weapon damage. If you are dual wielding, you only reach ¼ (rounded up) of the weapons damage and each kill only gets +1 to one at a time.

- [Rushdown] When moving into a enemy you can make a mauling action against them for free. Revenants may choose to either knock them back 2 squares, or gain a free fist and tooth attack.

- [Ruthless] Once per turn whenever a mercenary is killed within a 1 aoe of you or you kill a humanoid with fist and tooth, regain +4 health also gain a {skull}.

- [Shock and awe] Only available to warriors, when you crit you crit hard, critical damage is improved to 1.75 (rounded up)

- [Taunt] As a [tap] if revenant or a mauler action as a warrior you gesture towards a group or foe and call their mother a whore and that they smell of elderberries. The afflicted group will pursue your death at all costs but you gain a +1 Dr and +10% hit chance when fighting them. If a target is afflicted with [Taunt] multiple times they will pursue whoever taunted them first then the next.

- [One, two!] Once per turn designate a single melee weapon, that melee weapon makes two weapon attacks for that action.

Walking through the market's of Bolton is a surreal experience at first, foreign merchants and adventurers hawk their wares as you walk by. Each selling their own wares, a fine rug procured from the eastern continent is yours for only 200 silvers, pottery and jade 120, and a fine meal and a tankard of spirits for only five.
Through the crowds you eventually find the usual sort, Gairan peddles his ware in his building to adventurers and nobles, Vickens idles away his time as he fiddles his newest item in his inventory the brass prosthetic clicking away as a adjusts a screw, while the clanging of hammers on steel is heard faintly away from the Gilded swords.

Although it seems that a new shop has opened up, a quick investigation later yields that it seems to be gunsmith's workshop. One where a elderly man is found as he inspects a rifle, a young women nearby as she mixes together chemicals.

"Hail mercenary." He announces as he wipes his hand with a cloth "we have recently a few new additions that may interest you." The dwarf say's as you he walks you forth through the workshop.
Eventually you arrive at a few armor stand's one of them shows a figurine cloaked in ordinary steel mail, the other in a costume scavenged from lanterns and forged from a low iron.
"We finally forged a set of mail, and will continue as we do. Quite expensive I can assure you but the protection from the bite of a blade is worth it. Now for the other a scarred traveler wandered into here and asked if he could sell it for a cup of Drewmans brew and Gnomish bread. And well with a price like that I couldn't exactly say no so here it is." He explains as he waves a hand over the armor, the lantern top's and the cloth to the helmet.

When you enter his office you find him playing with a prosthetic arm, idily moving a brass finger as he observes the mechanical nature of it. >Later

When Lenoy and any of the mercenaries arrive at the grounds of Hawthorne academy, you are met with a gated door that locks away the academy's grounds to the public the well kept lawn and marble road signifying a sense of nobility and cleanliness.
With a sigh Lenoy mutters a incantation as he traces a rune before tapping his staff onto the lock.
Moments later a ethereal hand appears with a ornate silver lock which opens the lock, Lenoy takes the first steps as brandishes his staff, a pale blue light coming from it as it illuminates several runes near the gates grounds.
"Alright mercenaries, let's stay close to the staff I would prefer If we all die from a explosive rune." Lenoy announced as he signaled to the others and led the way through the academy's grounds.
Once inside a opulent manor is what greets the company, velvet carpeting woven with thread only found in the elven lands cushions the dirt caked boots while eastern continent wood makes up the book shelves and Southern Dwarven marble and stone makes the flooring.
All in all it's like stepping into a new world, that is quickly ruined by a uniformed noble looking with disgust at the new guests as they pass by with books in hand. Lenoy's response is in the form of a glare and a growl, before he turns his attention to the letter he bears.
"Alright mercenaries, let's find this...Ms. Aya" He reads out loud the enemy as the group begins the search for the instructor. The first room they open leads to a girls locker where after a few zaps and a fire bolt sent their way begins the journey to find her.

>Much, much later
After encountering more than a few spa's, lockers, labs, and 'pranks' from enterprising students wanting to joke with the new arrivals often ending with the summoning of a minor elemental or being on the receiving end of a fire bolt the group finally arrives at her office.
"By Mordon finally!" Lenoy announces as he bears the now singed letter and after grinding his teeth for a moment he knocks on the door only to find Ms. Ava being accosted by a group of students. In which a group of students complain about how a group of 'savage mercenaries that have breached the campus to sack it have arrived'.
The pale ball of fire summoned in Lenoy's hand and his twitching eye does little to defuse the situation.

Self point application on evasion successful! Some field practice and you eventually get the hang of the rhythem of combat weaving to and fro dodging practice arrows and -sling- bullets. You learn the easy way or the hard way about the intricacies of it. Although you do feel *that the human body has a limit* you can't dodge magical spells as they often have a habit of curving towards their target. Much to the protest of your clothes sadly

When asking gairan, you find him sketching runes over a scroll, the scroll depicting a picture of a figure wreathed in lightning zipping to and from figures. "Yes mercenary?" He asks as he absently paints a rune with lunar dust. A quick explanation of your order, he quickly takes out a set of tools fit for a true alchemist. "Took a bit to have it ship all the way from Stagrun but here it is. He say's as he shows lays down the tools on the counter for you to inspect one by one. Eventually you come across a large orb within which a mechanical object sways back and forth producing a mixing motion."Now do keep in mind about this little trinket a liberatus invention, simply place a set of ingredients within it and it'll do the work for you so long as you move and stay active. An oddity at the least, but it should help when you wish to simply mix a few things together."
After putting down the orb his eyes eventually draw to your bag, filled with vials and herbs. "Hmm well normally this would come in a bag but seeing as you have your own I'm sure we can fit it all within there. That is if you buy it, let's say the price will be....one hundred and fifty silvers mercenary."

>Price for masterwork tools and automixer150, if you purchase it see below spoiler.

If you purchase the bag you along with gairan begin to fill and adjust your bag to hold everything. Later your bag is more a satchel. it now now provides a +10 to your apothecary tests in addition it comes with an 'automixer' which allows you to perform an additional action whenever you use your turn to perform apothecary tests.

Vickens response below.
"Mhmh? Oh the ears?" Vickens says as his flap to and fro. "They don't do anything but they do look neat!"

"Pretty much Marcus why not invest hundreds of thousands of gold coins into this place. Your children will be in this place. So why not indulge a little hire a renowned architect, get some premium books and materials, why not splurge a little bit and open up a few more rooms, you know what why not afford red haired dragon thread for our students? Get them one no, two sets of uniforms of the stuff. Hmm you know what the teacher's don't seem quite good let's hire some court wizards and place them in the role. While we're at it let's educate ourselves in the art and open it up to other noble's? That seem's a good idea, cement the idea of nobles having access to magic while the common folk rely on brutish weaponry. Let's just open it up to only us the nobles, whose blood is pure!" Lenoy rambled on his voice and tone raised in volume reaching a crescendo before it was silenced with the soft cracking of wood breaking.
"Well i'm sure you can get the idea why." Lenoy said as he adjusted his grip.

"Students" Ms. Aya said as she slides out of her seat, "we can discuss this later, for now please escort yourself I have something to discuss with our new guests." Any protest was met with the glare akin to a drill instructor eyeing new recruits. As the group filed out, Lenoy quickly snuffed out the orb of lunar flame, she let out a sigh and patted her uniform observing her new guests.
Noting the obvious 'unenlightened' look the group gave she frowned, "don't you have somewhere to be mercenaries, Hawthorne academy is a place of knowledge. Not one of war, and drink.'"
"Well perhaps now is not the time, got something for you." Lenoy replied as he dug through his sleeves for a moment before pulling out a singed letter "a certain drow merchant gave it to us." as he held out the letter for her. She instead glared at it before quickly snatching the letter.
"This better not have a explosive rune oh who am i kidding you probably don't even know what that is." She murmured to herself as she scanned the letter, it containing a drowish cipher to anyone that attempts to peer over her shoulder. She read through the letter once, twice, thrice and considered reading it again before she quickly unholstered a dagger, the blade already glowing with a blue aura as she pointed it towards Lenoy.
"How did you get this letter?" She barked as she waved the dagger at his face. "That village is isolated and hidden from the world, you should not know of it much less even be able to help them." She bellowed as the dagger began vibrating with energy.
"Well we did, ma'am now would you mind giving us our reward? The merchant mentioned something about it being a letter of recommendation." Lenoy chimed in as he slowly pressed down the dagger with his finger.
Aya simply murmured about it being more like blackmail before giving a huff and pulling out of her desk letters of acceptances. Meant for students who have been accepted into the academy. "Congratulations you've been accepted into Hawthorne academy." She gritted out as she slid over a quill and ink well. "Sign at the dotted line with your name and you will be recognized as 'guest students'."
Lenoy however merely coughed as he slid the papers away into a nearby bin. "Ma'am, I lead a company of mercenaries if this is what it's going to be we're going to need more than just a 'few letters. I have a entire group of sell swords to run and to plan for and trust me they're all gonna want in. Surely there's something you can do to help get us all in?" He 'begged' cracking a smile all the while much to her unamusement.
"How many?" She inquired.
"At the moment? We have twelve maybe fifteen souls within the company." Lenoy reported.
"How many of them can actually read?"
"I would say all, ma'am we're mercenaries not savages."
"How often do you and they bathe regularly?"
"Depends on your definition of regularly."
After that it went on for quite a while to say the least.

Eventually the interrogation between Ms. Aya secretary of the academy and Lenoy lockwood died down.
"Well regretfully at least to my part It seems that your mercenaries are acceptable pillars of humanity. Congratulations for not being *complete* savages. Thanks to your letter and your own morals, welcome Everwinter company, you are now unofficially for now contractors for the experimentation of being subjected to Hawthorne academy instruction and lessons. . For the other if you wish to learn in the art either inform your fellow 'mercenaries' or see Ms. Bright, she should acquaint those of you who wish to learn and provide with a combat uniform." She indicated before turning towards Lenoy who was beaming with a sort of pride a thief would get after pulling off a con or heist. "We will be sorting out the terms of this contract." Which quickly shut off as he realized he was going to be subject to man kinds worst torture device imaginable...PAPERWORK!!!

>Eldritch knight archetype unlocked!
>Details listed below.

>First, let's begin with what is an archetype or what does it do?
An archetype is a specialization that errant, warriors, revenants and aspirants can specialize into. They often expand further into a field of the class, as for example rune fencers/eldritch knights providing hedge mages with combat prowess and with errant with magical prowess.
-In addition only a single archetype may be selected per char and chars are unable to back out of their choice once they post.
So say a archetype for hedge mage's open up but the players char is a rune fencer. He will either have to roll up a new character with that archetype already selected or have to accept the fact as it is.
-Some archetypes come with uniforms, they must be worn within battle at all times. While they can be upgraded and modified later they must still be worn.
-Archetypes also gain various skills, magics, spells, and abilities depending on it. So please read through before deciding.

>With that out of the way onto eldritch knights details!
>>
>>2888453

Archetype: Eldritch knight/Rune fencer: "I will show you the might of spell and blade."

>This class is accessible to hedge mages and errants. At a cost of a skill and self point.

-When chars use this archetype, they may only use the following weapons: Shortbow, Glaive, Sword, and daggers, hedge mages must either abandon their wand or swap their weapon with the focus when they are casting.. You may not dual wield as you use your off hand to gesture and cast spells. However you can use a Glaive as techniques have been made to accommodate for it.

-This archetype has a set armor known as a battle dress (Dr 1 Aether DR 1) that MUST BE WORN. Aesthetics are to the char but generally it is perceived as an ornate dress armored with padding and greaves

-Starting eldritch knights gain four spell points, while hedge mages carry over their spell points onto the new class. Although they must choose to lose two spells of their choice, although they gain a +15 to either their melee or ranged skill.

-Starting eldritch knights gain the following spells for free: [Dash], [Elemental blade], along with [Aether drain]. Additional spells and abilities can be learned later.

-Errants and hedge mage's may still access their prior skill tree in addition to investing skill points into this one to learn new spells and abilities.

-Lastly, they gain one of two unique spells: [Piercing blow] or [Force slash]
-Force slash Spend a spell point to attack the same creature again. (can only be done once per turn)

- [Piercing blow] Spend a spell point to make an attack that hits the hex behind it in addition to the prior one. Halberds instead attack through their reach, hitting the adjacent hex from the facing of the rune fencer followed by the second.

------Starting spells-------
[Dash] As a tap you a spell point and dash forwards in a line equal to half of your movement (Rounded up). If you dash and then attack with a melee weapon your weapon skill has a increased hit chance of +15. If it is with a ranged weapon you gain +1 damage.
[Elemental blade] As a tap imbue your weapon with a magical property this lasts for two turns and must be tracked by you.
-Fire: +1 DMG, when you crit you light the target on fire,
-Lightning: +3 AP -2 damage the Weapon deals movement damage providing a movement penalty that must be worked out. The Debuff lasts until the end of the creatures NEXT TURN.
-Air: Your melee or ranged skill gains a bonus of 15 to it, and +1 AP.
-Poison/Water: Your weapon now poison’s creatures on a roll of 30 or less.

-(Cantrip) [Aether Ray] (55): You point towards a target and a beam of energy leaps from your focus towards the target. If it hits they take 3 [aether] damage.

>I apoligize for such a delay, here are the hedge mage and theurgist progression skill.

Hedge skills:
1. [Ward] You draw a ward upon the ground as an act, mercenaries that stand on it decrease their chance of being hit by a spell -20%
2. [Channeling] Which when using a act to [focus] lets you ignore the results of doubles between 11-44, in addition to granting +1 damage to the intial hit of the spell.
3. [Study and mastery] : You study and acquire a new spellto play and cast with whether it be from a scroll, from your allies, or simply from studying old tomes. In addition you may study and improve upon a spell with this skill. Lastly this skill may be repeated mutiple times and it does not have to be marked upon your char sheet only the new spell/ability gained.
4. [Counter spell] As an action and a spell point you ready yourself and attempt to counter spell a spell that is being cast.
5. [Elemental inured] If you are attuned you may as a additional spell point swap a spells elemental damage with what you are attuned to. Often times granting new and odd effects to it. What they are will be unknown until you try.

Thuergists:
1.[ Benediction] You gain +1 range and effect whenever you cast a healing spell.
2. [Channel attunement] As a tap before your ‘spell’ you take a moment and channel upon the corrupted being that is your soul. Often times granting them new and odd effects, you will not know until you try.
3. [Prayer and service] You unlock a new miracle/spell to cast and play with. Certain conditions such as prayer, sacrifice of mortals, burning incense may evoke new and powerful miracles. It depends on the being you pray tribute to. Some beings reward their followers with sculpting their body in his image, some through divine trinkets. Similar to [study and mastery] you may improve upon a miracle/spell with this skill. And you do not have to note this skill instead the improvements of your spell, the new spell or trinkets. Lastly this skill may be repeated as many times you wish.
4. [Cleanse] You cleanse a creature of the ill effects of magic and war. Status effects and current effects upon the creature are removed.
5. [Divine luck] Once per every two turns if you take more than ½ of your health and you are reduced to 0 you instead through sheer luck or divine will scrape by with 1.

Hides upon hides of the beast are doused in bottles of water. It is a laborious process but one that rewards you and frightens the weak of heart as the black water promises nothing but the mysteries of the void to you for now
Eventually as time passes you begin to slowly 'distill' the hides into the black water ramming hide upon hide with a pistols ram rod before filling it with water. Your effort rewards you with four bottles of it. They are safely stored and secured in your bag.
>Gain four (4) bottles of black water, (Reminder that a bottle grants 4 uses)
>>
>>2889184

Eventually passing back into the clinic you spot vickens slowly installing a prosthetic onto a noble as he begins amputating to the women who has a dazed and euphoric look on her face. Besides him stands various bottles all labeled with foreign and odd names along with a cloth which smells strongly of a concoction of drugs and chemicals.
Taking a moment you sit down and simply wait trying to ignore the awful sound of a saw tearing through flesh and bone.

>Later
Vickens with a tip to his hat greet's the women as she observes her new arm, the click and clacking of the metal providing a chime to it.
"It is...Sufficient" She replies before handing him a pouch and taking her leave.
"As always Ms. Snow, ah Mr. Marcus it seems you have come back! Feeling ill today or perhaps we are going to look at your 'condition' today?" Vickens queries as he cleans his equipment.
You reply as such with your question as he begins to prep a device and soaks a rag with poppy's breath and with a chemical.
"Well let's see what's been going on in there, now count back from 10 Mr. Marcus." As he holds the clothe to your nose, the last thing you remember is reaching the number six before you felt a flash of blue light and laughter.

When you do wake up Vickens is writing in a pad muttering to himself "present condition has weakened, when alternate has possession wings along with jubilant voice, and characteristics similar to a child are present. Suggests that primary soul is dominant or current is benevolent??" He finishes as he clasps the pad together with a lock before turning towards you.
"Ah Mr. Marcus your awake! Well good news, it seems that the fae has weakened for now. Bad news, it seems that your mortal coil is still experiencing yet another change and my dose did not quite have the intended effect..." He explains as he gestures towards your shadow and tome your spells have been rewritten and in your shadow....You see someone that is not you.

Gain the following mutations.
>[Fae shadow] Your shadow is now in the form of a more childish, altered version of you you wandering to and fro...While odd it seems to help you, as evident as it lifts your fallen wand from the floor and holsters it for you.....Late nights will be odd though, but for now it is useful.
>[Fae soul] Replace's [Fae attuned], fae creatures and such will see you as their friend, carries all the benefits and can still be 'improved' upon with skill points (AKA mutations) and used with [elemental inured].
