>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirty (thirty one) year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have fifteen minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls were once used to determine success or failure. But, due to the rather unpredictable nature of the dice essentially making it irrelevant whether or not you made smart decisions, were fighting outside your weight class, etc, we're going to do away with those, at least for the time being.

This quest sometimes uses music, and this website is not good with embed videos from youtube. So, it may be that you want to open youtube links in a new tab so they start at the right part.

I hope everyone has fun.

Shenron's power is responding to your own, that small bit you've allowed to seep into him stirring the slumbering dragon. A touch more, and the effect only grows. The more Shenron responds, the more you begin to understand what's happening.

Upon becoming Guardian, you revived Shenron, binding his life to your own. As Piccolo and Kami were both two and not two, separate entities belonging to the same being, so it goes with you and Shenron. The Dragon is now a part of you, its life bound to your own. But, while that may be a profound connection, he was not born of your being like Piccolo was to Kami. The Shenron you revived was the Shenron of the last Guardian, the only difference being who his lifeline was. But now, you're energizing him with your own power, making the Eternal Dragon your own. He's not awake, but you can feel the change within him, the surge of energy that you're causing by infusing him with your power.

Now what could Shenron do with such power?

>A. Give him as much energy as it takes, you want him to be every bit as powerful as Porunga!

>B. Give him all of the energy you can! You want to make him as strong as the Dragon of the Black Star Dragon Balls!

>C. Give him the power to grant more wishes, but still perform wishes as strong as he can now (two wishes, three if you don't use multi-rez)

We should probably be careful doing this. Don't want to risk breaking Shenron.

I’m assuming this means if there isn’t a multi-Rez wish he can do three, otherwise only two. And can we take away the ability to do immortality?

Porunga level power, which i assume fewer limitations. And because tied to tofoo, could he influence shenlong to not grant specific wishes unless he authorizes them?

Also, is tofoo gonna have a new child, hopefully a girl during the cooldown years until buu?

Kami, for all his great qualities, was not very strong. With only his power to offer, it makes sense that he was able to create a dragon with as many limitations to its power as Shenron. But for one such as yourself? You can surely make Shenron every bit as great as the mighty Dragon of Dreams upon which he was based, Porunga. And so you give Shenron what he needs, feeling his power grow as you allow more energy to enter his form. Soon, two wishes are within his power to grant at once, then three, and finally, you push him a step further than that, giving him the power to resurrect multiple people at a time, something even Porunga could not manage.

In your mind's eye, a powerful light shines around Shenron. His tired eyes open, blazing red with renewed energy, and his serpentine form rockets into the air, climbing high above the clouds and giving a roar that echos in your ears. Lightning flashes around him, and he looks down upon you from on high, letting out a low growl that once again echos in your ears.

"Oh, my!" you hear Popo exclaim, prompting you to open your eyes.

To your amazement, the sky above you has grown as dark as the blackest night, illuminated only on occasion by lightning, and dimly lit at all other times by the aura of the colossal being wriggling through the darkness.

Shenron flies before you, his body moving, but his head still as his shining eyes bore into your own. You gaze back at him, and feel a rush in your body, as if you just went through a great drop. Shenron glows brighter, then vanishes in a brilliant light, which splits into seven beams that shoot off like storm-bolts in different directions. You know what that means, though the fact that it's happening is nothing short of a shock to you. You didn't know that giving Shenron his new power would completely re-energize him, but it seems that he is ready. The Dragon Balls are restored, and should any man, women, child, alien, or who knows what else gather all seven, a new and improved Shenron shall rise to grant whatever three wishes their hearts desire.

"You've done it!" Popo proclaims in delight. "I didn't think it could be done, not so easily, but I can feel the difference in the Dragon! Well done, Tofoo!"

>A. "Thank you, Popo."

>B. Go to the Pendulum Room and do some training.

>C. You want to ask him a favor; can he create a replica of you for you to battle like he did when you and Goku trained here?

>D. Go home to your family, there are some things to discuss.

Ask Popo if he recalls how Kami made Shenron and if its possible to add an extra addition to the statue that could allow Shenron and the balls to remain active for awhile. Basically a "generator" compatible with the statue that we store power in from time to time as a backup in case we end up dying so the balls can remain active for a week or a couple of days.

"Thank you, Popo," you reply with a smile at his praise.

The sky soon grows bright once again, the clouds dispersing once the bolts of light from Shenron have vanished into the distance. Shenron's revival wasn't something you expected to happen so soon, and while it may be a wonderful thing to have three wishes available, you still don't like the potential risks that come with just anybody being able to make use of the Dragon balls. People like Doctor Kochin, Garlic Junior, Lord Slug, the Red Ribbon Army, Pilaf, the Saiyans, you'd like it better if summoning the Dragon was not an option for them.

Making up your mind, you bid Popo farewell and go out searching for the nearest Dragonball, able to locate it more easily now that your energy is so intertwined with the seven wish orbs. Finding the Four Star Dragon Ball, you take it with you as you return home, a simple phrase returning you to your doorstep.

It's late enough in the day where everyone should be up and about. You can assume that Bulma and her father are in the lab, Bulma's mom is probably baking something or relaxing with some lemonade, big Trunks is probably training or making preparations to return to his time, and little Trunks could be pretty much any of those places, or watching that horrific train show.

"Mr. Tofoo, Mr. Tofoo!" you can hear voices shouting from behind you.

Sighing, you glance over your shoulder to see that the buzzar-reporters, have returned, though the sea of talking heads is thankfully less vast today than it was yesterday. A part of you fears that the decrease in reporters here means that Goku and Krillin are having groups of these people showing up on their properties, but with Suno and Chi-Chi around, you're confident it will be handled.

Now, where to first?

>A. Find Bulma, you have a thing or two you want to speak to her about.

>B. Find big Trunks, you don't know how much longer he's going to be here.

>C. Find Mrs. Brief, you're in the mood for some cookies

>D. Find little Trunks, make sure his mind isn't being poisoned by those trains

>E. Go talk to the press before their racket sets Bulma off.

While you consider taking a moment to speak with the press and hopefully get them to go away, you have some things you need to do that take priority. Granted, most things are frankly more important to you than dealing with reporters, but in this case you actually have a thing or two you need to talk to your wife about, and you'd rather get that done sooner rather than later. Knowing her, if you do something else first you'll find out she's testing a new rocket ship, or building an underwater super gravity chamber with shock-bolts and pinball.

Yeah, better to talk to her before something comes up.

Ignoring the calls of the men and women behind you, you step inside the comfort of your own home (and your family's company), cutting a path straight to the lab. The various machines manning different stations and the security guards you pass greet you, and you politely do the same, but otherwise, you make it to your destination without delay. There, to no surprise, you find your wife and father-in-law working hard on something-or-other. They're at way too early a stage for you to have any idea what they're doing yet, but you can see the stack of documents you brought to them sitting on the table beside them, so that probably narrows it down.

Making your way through the lab, you approach your two genius family members. Scratch lets out a little 'meow' upon seeing you, and Bulma glances over her shoulder at the sound, noticing your presence.

"Hey," she greets, setting down the power tool she was using and turning her body to face you.

She doesn't say anything right away, but after a moment of looking at you, she, throws a glance at her father over her shoulder.

"I'll be right back, dad," she tells him, walking past you and out of the lab, clearly expecting for you to follow.

"Alright, dear," Doctor Brief tells her, somehow avoiding making some sort of inappropriate comment.

Maybe his science distracts him from that. Who knows?

Following your wife, you're lead out of the lab, down the hall, and out into the atrium. Bulma takes a seat in one of the many lawn chairs, and motions to one beside her. Once you've occupied the empty chair, she looks over at you curiously.

"What's up?" she questions.

>A. Tell her that you just learned there's another tournament coming up, and you're probably going to be spending a lot of time training for it.

>B. There's a Tournament coming up, and you wanted to talk to her about Trunks competing in the Junior Division.

>C. You want to talk to her about having another baby.

There are a few things you want to talk to Bulma about. With the Tournament coming up, you're going to be dedicating a lot of time to your training. Combine that with anything that might crop up in your job as Guardian, and you're going to be away, or at least unable to spend much time with your family until the Tournament arrives. There's also the issue of Trunks joining in the Junior Division, which you really don't want to encourage without Bulma's blessing. But, above all else, there's something you've been wanting to talk to her about for a while, and you think that should take first priority.

"I wanted to talk to you about having another baby," you tell your wife, watching the surprised look appearing on her face with a mixture of worry and amusement.

"You-you want another baby?" she asks in a tone that tells you whatever she thought this was about was completely different than the actuality. "Well.....I'd like that too."

"Well then, the two of us should get to work on that," you tell her.

Bulma's face goes a little red, and for a second you think she's about to slap you, but instead she leans over and gives you a chaste kiss on the lips.

"Later, alright? You brought us some incredible stuff from Gero's lab, and I want to get *some* work done today," she tells you, standing up.

"Before you go," you stop her, bringing up the next order of business and explaining the tournament.

"Really, Tofoo?" Bulma asks, sounding annoyed at this point. "You want to get me pregnant, but you also want to be around less than normal so you can train?"

Well, when she puts it like that.....

>A. Tell her she still didn't answer about Trunks.

>B. You're sure the Tournament's less than nine months away, you'll be here when the baby comes.

This situation got a lot less positive in the span of a few seconds. Now, Bulma looks ready to switch from wanting to have your kid to wanting to castrate you. And knowing her, if she decides she wants to do the latter, it will happen. Being super strong like you are doesn't mean you'll be safe from the blue-haired super genius. You need to say something to calm her temper fast.

Deciding to try and appease her, you tell her that you can do the bulk of your training around home so that you're around if she needs you. That should also mean that you're here for Trunks, and able to come to bed on nights when you aren't up straight through until dawn training. It may cause your training to suffer a bit, but you should still be able to do very well, and keep your wife and child happy. The joys of being a husband and father, not being around for three years straight doesn't fly like it did when you were younger.

Thankfully, Bulma's anger seems to deplete a bit, her glare becoming less intense, and her posture relaxing a little bit. You no longer fear for Mr. Johnson and the twins between your legs.

"Alright," she tells you, once again making a move to leave. She takes a few steps before stopping and turning to you again. "And I don't have a problem with Trunks competing in the Junior Division if it's what he wants to do."

She turns way from you again and keeps going. "I'll see you later."

With your wife gone, and most of the important issues settled, or at least discussed, you try to decide who you should go and see next. Either version of your son would probably be a good place to start, or perhaps you should stop by and see Krillin. You haven't seen your friend since Cell sucked him up. He'd probably appreciate a visit. Maybe you should go and let Tenshinhan and Chaozu know about the tournament. They probably already know, actually. Maybe Yamcha, you aren't sure if he's been able to tear himself away from Lazuli long enough to hear about the Tournament.

As all of this races through your mind, you suddenly feel a surge of energy far off in the distance. You can't quite identify it right away, but it's alone, and it's big. Your heart sinks as you consider the possibilities. The Cell Juniors popped back up, so what if their dad did the same thing? No, no that's not possible. Even if he did somehow survive, he would have shown up before now. That arrogant prick wouldn't be able to wait ten minutes before making a grand entrance to announce yet another return from the jaws of death.

So it's probably not Cell, but you still feel the need to investigate.

"Kai-Kai," you say, moving yourself to the location of the energy.

You stand in the middle of a forest. Thick, tall trees tower above you, obscuring the sun and covering the ground with leaves and branches. Your environment isn't what interests you, however.

No, what has your attention is a familiar old man, dressed in black.

He stands roughly the same height as Master Roshi. He has the same posture as Master Roshi. He has the same facial hair as Master Roshi. Unlike Roshi, however, he has a full head of hair and no glasses. And unlike Roshi, this man makes you feel both excited and fearful at his appearance. With Master Roshi, you know what to expect, even if he occasionally surprises you with his tenacity. But this man is different, this man is a true challenge.

This man is Jackie Chun.

"I hear you've been looking for me, Tofoo," the old champion greets, a somewhat bored expression on his face. "I suppose that means you're hoping for a lesson, or a fight. We can handle both with a quick match."

Though he looks entirely unconcerned with you, the fighting stance he adopts is perfect. He's certainly ready for that fight.

Jackie Chun is a skilled and cunning warrior. You aren't sure that rushing him head-on right out of the gate is a wise idea against one such as he. Perhaps it would be wiser to stick with what you know and adopt the more cautious and defensive approach of the Bear Style of martial arts.

Dropping into your classic stance, you ready yourself for whatever's to come. Though you know Chun is powerful, you decide it best to remain in your base form for the time being. After all, the Kuma-Ken and Kami-Ken could turn this from a sparring match into a death-match, and you'd rather not have that happen. For now, you'll fight at your base state.

"Not using one of your transformations, eh?" Chun asks. "I wonder if you're underestimating me, or if you've finally seen the danger that relying on those light shows puts you in."

Not responding to his contemplation, you stand your ground, waiting for him to make his move. He readjusts his stance a few times, beginning to slowly circle around you. You turn your body to avoid allowing him to attack you from behind. Finally, Chun digs in his feet, pulls back his right arm, and yells, thrusting his palm toward you and unleashing a powerful gust of wind. The force is great enough that it threatens to push you back, but you dig in your feet and hold your ground, not allowing yourself to be blown away.

A loud crack echoes from behind you, and you glance over your shoulder to see one of the massive trees falling toward you.

The moment your eyes are not perfectly focused on him, Chun springs into action, somehow managing to slip through your defenses and catch you in the jaw with a palm-strike. This time, you aren't able to remain so rigid and still, and stagger a bit as the tree falls upon you. A simple burst of energy knocks it away, and it slams onto the forest floor with a loud boom. In the moment of that boom, another five Chuns appear, surrounding you from all sides.

>>2872699
>>2872757
Oh, okay then
>>
>>2872699
>>2872757
The best course of action here should be to take out all of the Chuns at once. Gathering up your energy and letting out a yell, you strike all six with a powerful burst of energy that unfortunately incinerates several trees around you. When you look around, though, you see no sign of Chun.

Closing your eyes and sensing for his energy, you find him not anywhere around you, but up above you. Looking up into the air, you see the old man, his hands cupped together, with a blue light shining between them.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Drowning in this bullshit rain that won't stop?

Yeah, and it's fucking up my sinuses.

Reminder to ask Yamcha about his black aura and Tien about his insane-focus thing, when we get the options

Reminder to achieve Kami-ken beyond that of a super saiyan

How I think it'd work
->Base Tofoo

->Kaio-ken

->Kuma-ken

->Kuma-ken Mastered

->Kami-ken (initial)

->Kami/Kuma-ken combo (to go beyond that of
a kuma-ken)

->Kami/Kuma/Kaio-ken x2 (This is to go even further beyond, requires extensive mastery of of all three techniques plus pushing Bear style endurance past before seen limits)

->Kami-ken mastered (comparable to SSG)

->Mastered Kami/Kuma-ken (comparable SSGSS)

->Mastered Kami/Kuma/Kaio-ken x10(SSGSS/ x10 Kaio-ken)

->Zen-form(????)

->I don't know man, Ultra Instinct?

We need a good, catchy name for the stacking of Kuma-Ken and Kami-Ken. Also, would the aura be yellow like SSJ, or Green+Blue like SSBKK?
>>
>>2879952
I thought of it as the initial state being the two auras overlapping each other like Goku's auras do when he stacks Kaio-ken on SSB. Then later when when Tofoo masters both techniques to their full extents, he melds them so well it's like a godly green aura, like how SSB is a godly blue, or Beerus has a godly purple aura. You know with how they pop out.
>>2879932
Meh, it does fit into the ultimate goal of all practitioners of Kung Fu to be fair.
>>
>>2880143
I guess the final product would be called

Kuma no Kami Ken: Fist of the Bear God

Ok, now real question, the one goal we've had since near the beginning of this adventure:

When do we open the Bear Dojo?
>>
>>2880323
And who do you take as students?
>>
>>2880603
Mr. Satan, Trunks, Videl, people who prove themselves by climbing Korin Tower?
>>
>>2880669
>Thinking you have anything to teach the champ
>>
Why can't I quit you som?
>>
>>2880701
>implying he’s the champ of anything

Rather than a full dojo, we could use the fact we're god now and find promising students from around the world. There could be a few, though the ones I can think of are Videl, Trunks, any of cells children if they end up reincarnating, uub if that happens, I would be more than willing to take on either Kori or Konattsu if either asked (especially konattsu because of her obvious shared traits to Tofoo's style) but kori will likely go her own path under her father's guidance and strive for higher levels past the super saiyan and krillin is the turtle school's official heir so there's a decent chance konnatsu will train under it and even take on the school herself later on.
If either want to learn techniques and improve on their endurance/stamina/ki control with us under some tutelage though I'd be fine with it.
Other than that there aren't too many other kids in canon to train, maybe if either one of the cast has a second kid and they end up wanting to train with Tofoo or if SOM does an oc.
Im the type to prefer a few personally trained students in a small dojo over a large school, but if I'm in the minority I'd be fine with compromising and having a two dojo system. Have a public bear dojo to teach students wanting to learn. Have the smaller "dojo" on the lookout compromised for students who show all of the good qualities of a martial artist and worthy defender of earth from either the main dojo or from promising students tofoo finds around the world.

Whoever climbs Korin Tower, there's bound to be some rando out there in Dragon World with great potential that we haven't met yet. Would be funny to have some random kid show up on the Lookout one day being sent here by Korin

Also we should totally seek out past WMAT competitors and other Dragon Ball-era fighters. I started following about the time of DBZ events starting so I'm not sure who we have and haven't met, but Nam, King Chappa, etc.

Speaking of, did we ever remember to revive Pamput after Devilman gibbed him?
>>
>>2881559
>I'm not sure who we have and haven't met, but Nam, King Chappa, etc.
Nam and King Chappa for sure, remember that Tofoo learned the eight handed technique from watching King Chappa, its inventor, do it.
>Pamput rezzed
I want to say probably yes but that was so long ago I can't be sure.
>>
>>2881917
It's Pamput, does it really matter?
>>
>>2882247
The Guardian of Earth should have the decency to at least revive people who died fighting for the planet

Also my autism won't be satisfied if we don't, and you wouldn't let an autistic anon suffer in your quest, would you?
>>
>>2884729
Anon, as a fellow autist, nothing gets me off more than seeing other autists suffer.
>>
>>2882247
I thought we liked his movie.
>>
>>2885481
You did.
>>
>>2885792
..........S-should we do a movie?
>>
>>2885792
That is enough reason to care. We won't be able to watch new Pamput movies if he isn't rezed.
>>
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z95fi3uazYA

Gotta admit, TFS really stuck the landing with part 3.
>>
>>2887534
Buu saga confirmed too.
>>
>>2887716
Yep, I honestly did not expect that.
>>
>>2887730
It really felt like they were doing meta commentary with Goku about ending DBZA, so yeah that got me off-guard too
>>
>>2887846
Can't say I'm not happy to be wrong in this case.
>>
>>2887973
(Hey just so you know, I love all of your work. Thank you for all the good times, Som)
>>
>>2892173
Thank you for all the kind words, anon.
