"That... is a secret I'm afraid. Of course, I do not intend to drag outsiders into this war, nor do I intend to try any undignified methods in order to win. I am above such cravenly acts.", you answered, trying to get on her good side.

The brunette supervisor of Fuyuki sighs heavily after hearing your answer.

Rin: [The words of a magus are not to be taken absentmindedly, much more when you consider a prize such as an omnipotent wish granter is on the line. Even so, I'll have to be satisfied with just that for now.]

She rose up, left the room and returning with a map of the city. A few locations are circled with a red marker.

Rin: [Unlike the original Holy Grail War, we do not have supervisors for the war itself, so defeated Masters have no safe place to retreat to. Even so, these areas have been marked as neutral grounds under the control or protection of me or others that had resided here since after the 5th Holy Grail War. Respect our authority and territory and you will be promised our impartiality and asylum should you be defeated.]

The areas marked is a housing district in Miyama, the mansion itself, an area in Fuyuki's forest and a church. How curious....

Rin: [Me and a few others will be patrolling the city at night to ensure all of you adhere to the rules. Though we are not masters, we are still veterans of the war so do not take us lightly.]

Exclaiming her statement sternly, she dismissed you as there was nothing she had left to say. On your way out, a petite, white haired young lady passed by you. You could not catch a full glimpse of her as she raced further into the mansion, disappearing as swiftly as she came into the building's darkness like a ghost.

The time spent in Fuyuki's supervisor's house had left you in the dying light of the sun, just less than an hour before night envelopes the city and the war begins for real. What do you do now?

Let's go to the housing district.
And if it is where I think it is we'll get to meet our favorite sword autist.

Perhaps it is the best choice to go for the neutral areas for now as it's getting dark. After all, without a real safe house, engaging in a fight might prove to be deadly should you be defeated. According to the map marked by Tohsaka Rin, a residential area in Miyama is one of the aforementioned neutral zones, and if push comes to shove you can always sleep in the SUV. After all, you doubt the supervisor will let you crash there for the night, not to mention you're not quite the camper kind of guy and churches just ain't your style.

------------------------------------------------------

As you pass through the rows of houses looking for a good place to park your jam packed SUV,one of the houses stood out amongst the rest. Firstly its design looks more archaic than its peers, giving the house's surrounding an aura of antiquity. Secondly, the space it takes compared to other houses is enormous. Lastly, is the sign placed near it's gate.

[Emiya Boarding House]

A boarding house, a decent place to stay for the night, and just in the center of the neutral zone. Parking your SUV nearby, you rang a bell installed near the gate.

???: Yes, coming!

A familiar voice, and later, a familiar face springs forth out of the opened gate. It's Ms. Taiga! She seems stoked to meet you again.

Taiga: [Ara, ara! If it isn't Mr. Bellerose! Come in! Come in! We're just having dinner!]

She guided you to the living space of the large house before you can protest, and before you know it, you're sitting cross legged amongst what looked like teenagers in their pajamas. The fragrant smell of the meal ready before you wiped away most of the confusion casted by this overly energetic woman, but the same can't be said for the residents sitting beside you.

Taiga: [Just hold on tight there Mr. Bellerose while I scoop you some rice!]

While she does that, a pair of prying eyes can be felt spying on you from the cracks of the sliding door behind you...

The teenagers around you seems awkward, most probably due to a foreigner suddenly sitting down with them for dinner. Perhaps you can lighten the mood up?

If a looks could burn, then a hole would've appeared right through your skull by now. The gaze from beyond the door had only grew more intense by hte seconds. Finally you decided to speak up.

"Spying is so very unbecoming. Why don't you join us at the table?", in Japanese, shocking Ms. Taiga and the other residents of the boarding house.

A child, no older than 10 came around inside the living room. Timidly, she walked towards Ms. Taiga, hiding behind her like a cornered hare. Her face bears a spitting resemblance to the lady in question, barring her black hair.

Taiga: Ah, Torako! What are you doing, spying on people like that?

She mumbled back a response, barely audible to most in the room.

Torako: ....Onee-san told me to...

Taiga: She told you to do wh- ah whatever! More importantly, Bellerose-san! You lied to me when you told me you can't speak English you meanie!

Fujimura Taiga pouted for a while, refusing to talk to you, though she finally lets up after the meal (as do the others who are with you tonight). The matter of tonight's lodging had been settled, with you renting a room for today.

Currently it's 8:30 pm. You can patrol the night to potentially find the participants of this war or other person of interest (though the areas you can patrol for now are limited). Alternatively you can just hang around in the boarding house, socializing with its residents. Lastly, you can just call the off the night early.

Patrol options:

>Miyama South
>Bridge

Northern Miyama is a housing district. The urban landscape should make escaping assailants easier should the need arise. Notifying Ms. Taiga of your nightly outing, you walked there by foot, not wanting to be trapped in your 4-wheeled vehicle in the case of an attack.

Moving by the row of houses, the streets seems mostly empty, with the exception of those who just came back from work. They paid no mind to your presence.

After nearly an hour of patrolling the area, no signs of magical activity can be sensed nor seen. Still, you made another round just to be safe, this time checking around alleys and corners and such.

The full moon lit the now deserted streets. It is now around eleven o'clock at night. Perhaps tonight's patrol is a fruitless endeavour.... As you walk back home, a lone figure stood in the streets, bathing in the moonlight.

???: What a beautiful night it is isnt it?

Snow white hair flows, blown by the autumn winds, her ruby red eyes pointing upwards reflects the dazzling moonlight. She speaks to someone, but you're not sure if she's speaking to you....

CLANG!

Berserker materializes just in time to block an unknown assailant's blade just before it can reach your neck.

Her large spear is now locked with a katana, wielded by a man wearing traditional Japanese suit of armor. The semonic mask accompanying the armor's helmet gave the man an imposing appearance in this dim lighting. Berserker demonstrates her strength by sending the assailant backwards with a single push. He deftly retreats to the mysterious woman's side.

???: What a shame, a tint of red is just what I need to complete this night. What an incompetent servant I had summoned.

Servant...? From looking at his weapon, one can assume he is a Saber, one of the 3 knight classes who wields swords!

Saber: Tch, speak for yourself! We could've killed him if we organized a proper ambush. Plain and simple!

The two bickered on without a care in the world, even with an enemy right before them. What do you do now?

Signalling Berserker, both of you leapt into battle against this mysterious adversary.

"Ansuz!"

With the blood drawn from your fingertips, you wrote a rune, a type of magecraft, in the air. This one functions to create spontaneous combustion, a trick you picked up from one of its rare practitioners in the clock tower. Easy to cast and quick to use, it is sure to catch any magus who haven't seen it offguard! While you are doing that, Berserker strides forward with grace to flank the enemy.

Saber, caught offguard, engaged the full might of Berserker's charge, his back bent backward in effort to block her blow!

Now, for sure! The master is defensel-

???: Rune magecraft? How cute....

How could this be? The giant flame directed right at her disperses with ease! She did not even use any incantation to counter yours!

???: Enough with this farce, Saber!

With a single swipe, multiple strands of her white hair swiftly falls off, later taking shape, woven into the form of a bird. The creature crafted through magecraft then moved into assisting Saber, themselves able to throw magical projectile and cut through concrete walls by simply grazing it! Her servant used this to his advantage, taking a swipe at Berserker, and then retreating.

Saber: Not even thinking of concealing my identity huh, even after you made me wear this heavy getup?

???: It's fine isn't it? Not like they know what you're truly capable of, or your true name for that matter. After all, it's a pain to think of a new name for a tool of war.

Saber: Even hell can't melt down your heart Master.... Just my luck!

Looks like the enemy's servant class is confirmed, though that does not matter much for now, as she had stated. Furthermore, now that you look at her... yeah. You can guess by now just where she came from.

Illiasviel: An introduction is due, is it not? My name is Illiasviel. Illiasviel von Einzbern. Representing house Einzbern, obviously.

She slightly raises her skirt and made a bow, befitting of her prim and proper appearance. It is clear that she did not take you for a threat, seeing as that this homunculus had not even once broke a sweat in fighting you. The same can't be said for that unfortunate Saber though....

Illiasviel: Truth be told, I decided to just pick off any inexperienced masters running around defenselessly tonight, but your servant's quality really makes up for your incompetence! What class could it be? Lancer perhaps, or....?

Before you could make a response, red dots appeared on both you and the Einzbern's head....

Almost without sound, the projectiles fired by modern weapons of unidentified models nearly tore a hole in both you and Illiasviel's head. Easily however, these attacks are defended against by yours and her servants.

Men in black, combat outfit marches to your current location, weapons still lock and loaded, ready to be fired. They all surrounded both end of the street you are on. They do not speak, merely standing there dutifully, waiting for orders.

Illiasviel: How deplorable, to aim your weapon at someone's back. Have you no shame?

Saber: Like you're one to talk! Damnit we're outnumbered.... any bright ideas, Master?

Berserker: Master, I sense no servants around but... I'm afraid the situation had taken a turn for the worse, nonetheless.

The stationary soldiers starts to move in for the kill...

Illiasviel: Is it not very clear what we should do now, Saber? Tear through them, cut them to pieces!

Saber: Yeah, I would expect nothing less from you...

In a blink of an eye, Saber dashes to the assailants on their side of the road, and with a single swing cutting a row of them in half by the waist. You follow suit.

"We fight our own battles! Go!"

Berserker: Understood!

Charging forward behind Berserker, your servant spun her spear in such speed that no bullets can pass through it, an unbelievable feat easily done by Heroic Spirits. This group of assailants follows the same fate as their compatriots.

More marching footsteps can be heard getting closer and closer. What do you do?

>Stay and fight, perhaps there is more to gain here tonight?

>Retreat, not only are you outmatched earlier and now outnumbered!

Odd.... these soldiers who were cut down... do they not bleed? Their maimed bodies lie on the street unmoving, yet....

No, now is the time to retreat. The area's getting too hot and you decided to retreat before its too late. The Einzbern homonculi should be able to fend for herself, or not. Either way, it does not benefit you all that much now.

-------------------------------------

A good sprint and you arrive back at the boarding house. Frantically ringing the bell, Ms. Taiga opened the door for you, not bothering to ask as she saw your facial expression. Understandingly, she lead you to your room, a nice but small Japanese styled bedroom with a futon laid down.

-------------------------------------

It is 12:45 pm now, and you're lying face up on your bed. Your whole body's aching after your recent confrontation, yet your mind refuses to sleep. Perhaps you haven't properly calmed down from the impact the previous battle dealt on you?
