Exiting the city's gate I travel the same road towards the Kleinel Forest. The place was still quiet as last time, the only source of noise coming from a small stream that trailed across my path. I should've killed all the orcs here with that brainwashed one being an exception, I wonder how he's doing? He must've exploded by now even if he didn't reached Jago, but I'll say that I was happy with my living death trap.

Reminiscing, the same pleasurable feel from back then swept into me. Remembering those eyes of that orc only intensified that feeling; the fear in his eyes making him more human than orc. Fortunate he is that he won't feel his own death, I could've kept his pain intact--

SQEE!!!

Rushing out of the thicket a boar showed itself, immediately putting itself in an aggressive pose. It raises its enormous tusks into the air to flaunt its size and strength, something like how bears stand on their hind legs to make themselves tower over a human back at Earth.

Paying it no mind I used appraise, rendering the boar's animalistic practice useless; although, it itself doesn't know that.

Using stone needle, I shoot a large shard at the boar. It dodged my attack, lunging to the side as the stone shard flew by it, impaling a tree instead. Knowing that I'm not running as any other animal it charged at me, colliding with each other. I pushed back its tusks easily, locking the boar with my hands due to my inhuman strength.

Lifting the boar I throw it behind me, crashing into the ground head first. It squealed in pain as the sudden impact was big enough to make its head bleed. Holding it down, I keep it from getting back up, the boar shaking me off hectically as it fails to free itself from my hold.

Creating a strong and steady stream of water over the boar's face I watch it shake more violently to keep out of the water. Struggling, the boar is unable to breathe, its squealing nothing more than a muffled gurgle under the water.

Just about it was gonna drown I stop the torrent, watching the boar haggardly breath desperately. Thinking that it was gonna live I continue the rush of water onto its head, taking its life in my hands as it has no means to escape me. It dies when i want it to die; this process repeats over a course of a few minutes. There was nothing stopping me from enjoying its painful screech, playing around with its life like a toy. My heart felt elevated, a perverse type of happiness that was the same from earlier today; the same as I brainwashed that orc, and the same as I saw the women in the cave with their eyes in despair...

"Yoshka, Fen, could you find some sort of seed, more so a cone from a tree."

"Sure."
"Nn."

Exiting my shadow, Fenrir along with Yoshka went in the forest for a cone. Bringing one back to me while I continued torturing the overgrown swine. Digging the the cone under the boar I used fertile growth on it, the cone rapidly growing into a sapling. The sapling then grew bigger, its wood wrapping around the boars body as it turned into the tree. Now, the boar was permanently stuck inside a tree's trunk, safe from me but trapped until I kill it.

"Thank you~" I said in a overly gleeful tone. Even I was a bit weirded out by myself but I went along with it, I could've been worse.

"No problem, master, but what about the boar?" Yoshka said.

"I could eat it," Fenrir offered, turning into her original form. "Though, the branches would make it hard."

"No thanks. It's my prey to play with."

"Okay, if you say so," Fenrir said, turning back into a child.

"Fen, could you lift me up, please."

"Sure?"

Fenrir hanging back again, I climbed up on her body to reach the boar's face who's in a nearly dead state; not dead but its mind is surely burnt out. Grabbing a hold of the tusks I ripped them off from the mouth, gaining two pieces of natural ivory for myself. As expected, the boar screamed once more but quickly died down as it doesn't have the energy to even grunt.

Getting off of Fenrir she returned to her child form while I packed the two tusks into my bag, using fire arrow to set the boar ablaze before using air control to set out the fire.

"Here, Fen, a little snack," I say, skinning a part of the body to pull a sizeable piece of meat for Fenrir.

Her eyes twinkled as I gave it to her. "T-Thanks, master," she said, sinking her teeth into what's essentially jerky.

Patting Fenrir's head we then went further into the forest, coming across a clearing that was perfect for my practice.

Jumping off my head, Yoshka grew to a size of a human and lounged on the soft grass. He indolently coiled under the sun, snoozing away while me and Fenrir were left to do our own thing.

Setting down myself I took out one the two tusks from earlier, placing it in front of my as the bone lights up from the light. "...divinus humanitas, become a blazing blade from your body no more," I said, enchanting the tusk into a weapon. It was a different experience from outright making something from nothing. This time I was making something from another thing, actually feeling the item change from my hand even if I wasn't directly touching.

Created...Tusk of Searing

[Tusk of Searing]
- A light shortsword covered in scorch marks, its blade made out of a sharpened boar's tusk.
Effect
- Becomes coated in flame when mana is applied.
- Fire Slash: Is able to shoot moderate sized waves of fire

__________

Picking up the crafted shortsword it felt extremely light, somewhere slightly above those foam toy swords at the store for kids.

Playing around with it I mimicked a slicing motion, taking a moment to feel it. Next, I slashed the sword at the air as fast as I could, flinging out a wave of fire which traveled a considerable distance before disappearing. it was a good sword. Light, sharp, and magically powerful for anyone at hand.

Done with testing the new sword out I then wanted to enchant one of my other items, more specifically my bag or bear coat. for a while now, the idea of a storage passed my mind a few times but I never really acted upon it. It's a really good idea having a indefinite amount of room to store things and take on a whim.

__________

Created...[Bag of Holding]

[Bag of Holding]
- A seemingly normal bag that's able to magically store anything with an infinite space.
Effect
- Void Storage: Able to store anything and everything within a timeless space.

__________

My bag becomes phenomenally lighter, well, it was light before due to my strength but the difference is that there's no weight. Looking inside the bag there was a black space occupying the inside, my previous items stored out of sight within the deep blackness. Reaching inside it I pulled out my items one by one, checking to see if they're still there, and they were. Knowing that the bag really works it's gonna be handy having it around. Now I can carry all the stuff I want without repercussions.

Attempting to attach a hex on my bag the spell accidentally marked me, causing me to be affected by a wave of nausea. Unable to power through it I used purify on myself, curing the extreme dizziness and the sickness on the back of throat that made me gagged . I took a moment to regain myself, moving on to the next task as to not risk going through that blunder again.

Going towards some nearby rocks that were about the size of my hand, if not bigger, I created exactly five golems out them. They were made to be small like a toy, unmoving until I commanded them to do so. Using marking hex on each one them I rigged them to explode on my will, making these little stone soldiers a walking bomb. I then stored them inside my bag, dropping them into the abyss.

Yoshka was happily lazing in the same spot, soaking in the light while he was snugged comfortably on the ground, the grass acting as a natural bedding.

Fenrir on the other hand was playing around, running on all fours even though she was still in her child form. She was chasing a butterfly in a comedic fashion, running through the clearing in an effort to catch the flying insect.

Making the surroundings warmer I stirred the air around in circles, gradually making them bigger and bigger until I was controlling a revolving gust of wind that forceful enough to sway the greenery and trees.

"Now if I remember...this how storms are made..."

Shooting multiple fire arrows up in the sky the air steadily swayed from my control resulting in a chaotic wind. Soon after, water lightly sprinkled from up above, the mixture of air creating a moment of rain before dying out. It was short lived, but could've been destructive if I had actually made a work.

Calling in Yoshka and Fenrir we started going back towards Aliasa. Yoshka questioned what I was doing with the wind and rain but I just gave him a decent answer. Don't know wyrms, or let the people in this world would know what I was talking about, even if Yoshka knows that I came from another world; or maybe it was an excuse.

Back at Aliasa I grabbed my magic map out by the inn, telling it to take me to the bunny demi-human Marianne talked to "me" about. Weirdly, the direction it drew what fairly short, only a few turns away from where I'm standing right now.

Following the directions given on the map I went down an alleyway that led to a plaza. The plaza itself was small, located within a more congested area in the lower district. There was an apparent amount of uncleanness that was drastically different from the main paths, the people taking residence here looking sullen sickly. This is slums, and I instantly knew where I was.

Going down the damp pavement and narrow aisles the people were either too busy or sick, only focused on themselves to care. The light here was miserable as well, the sun blocked by the tall city wall as if its deliberately hiding from this place.

Looking down at my map I saw that I was nearing my end, making a final turn into a lane connecting the slums and the main street. There, a little girl was scrunch up on the ground with her knees behind her arms. She was sleeping, oblivious to her surroundings as her bunny ears were out in the open which could only cause trouble if anyone else found her; but I did first.

Well that serves me right for not first checking the pastebins first.
So from the way it's written, it gives off the impression of a Detect Alignment ability. Could be worse, and makes sense since she's seen the worst of people.
>>
Also, is it possible to give stolen skills to OTHERS?
If not, maybe it's a level up type thing?
>>
>>2887231
I'm guessing we can't due to it's nature based off of greed/selfishness
Regardless of the ability's true nature, it would be a interesting thing to develop a "skill giving power" to increase our abilities as a supporting unit.

Depends on how "strong" the titles are. Like if the're not a core part of the personality or merely a fame achieving milestone(I've noticed in this quest that a lot of our titles are more or less how people see us when we focused too hard on certain actions like being Sadistic or left a strong impression on them like the Folk Goddess title)

We could probably use a hex to obscure our alignment or any of our appraised stats and titles. Stronger hex would beat stronger detectors.

Lightly, I edge close to the bunny girl, calling her softly as to not disturb her.

"...you okay, child? not looking good."

"...nn."

She squeaked quietly, shuffling herself into more of ball. The ragged cloth that barely covered her body ran up, exposing more of her scar ridden skin. The wounds mounted upon her like some sort of growing corruption, leaving a morbid piece of art; her body its canvas.

Unknowing to me, I sit down beside the girl's sleeping body, resting her head on my lap to which she snuggled closer. Her touch was cold and her hair unkept, a truly pitiful child that got caught up in something truly cruel as slavery. Healing her body the injuries she possessed mended themselves. However the scars that painted her body stayed, only fading in visibility slightly. I then marked her, slightly grazing my finger on her cheek as the magical characters made their way onto her body, forming a column of letters that twisted around her thigh to the bottom of the leg.

Making sure that I got it right I peeked into her stats again, analyzing any change under her name.

I continue to watch over this Cheru girl, pulling a blanket from my chest to cover her body as I pet her hair slowly, cautious to not wake her up. The sadistic feeling rises again, feeding from the view of the girl, but it was mixed in with another emotion. Pity? Sympathy? A sick form of kindness? I don't know; there are many things wrong with me, both in the past and in the mind.

Also I don't think the hex we casted is directly attacking the Insanity title which is why the title is overriding and weakening the hex in the first place

Carrying the little girl in my arms she proved to be very light, either because of malnutrition or my person. I held her close to myself, wrapping the blanket to swaddle her under my bosom. She was unmoving, unreacting, a delicate flower hiding an already broken mind like a fractured piece of china. To remedy this, as to save myself from further pity, I sung a little tune, a lullaby if you will. The song had no direction to be taken, purely improvised and orchestrated from my heart. And with that, I carried the little bunny girl towards the inn, swaying my body hypnotically as I sung to her...

On my way to Circe I exited the sodden and miserable slums bringing enjoyment to myself personally. The place was too sad for my liking, too different from where I'm living right now, wanted to take this girl as fast as possible away from that place. Now why would she stay there anyhow? She may be young but I'm sure a child would know clean from dirty, especially when rats prance about in broad daylight.

"hmm~hmm~hmm~"

"There you are. It was a pretty good idea to follow you."

Rotating my head to the side I saw Marianne come out of the corner, fully suited this time.

"You're pretty quick walking from one of the main streets to one of the less desirable places in Aliasa. Lost you too but looked like I didn't need to go in further as you came to me yourself, back here in the main paths," Marianne explained. "...That demi-human, I'll give you two options. Give her to me or both of you will."

"My, drilly, that's an awfully rude story to tell. Stalking your loved one so crazily," I joked, making the situation more comedic, though failed.

"S-Shut up! That time...That time I wasn't prepared! Now choose!"

Now this is a bind. Can't just leave the girl with her but can't just run away either. Marianne might issue a search for me since she may have that kind of authority and the fact that she knows that I'm an adventurer.

It's worse, crimes committed by slaves historically were magnitudes worse than for freemen. If it's a execution worthy crime for a regular free person, then it's a agonizing torturous for a slave. I'm talking crucifixion/burned at the stake level agony.

Slave owning societies tended to massacre slaves who dare harm their masters even if it was just one of many slaves because if they don't bring down the hammer, the slaves realize they might just possibly get away with it and that in turn increases the insecurity slaveowners have owning people.

It's like I said in a earlier thread regarding slavery. You gotta first sell the slave owning society the idea that they can profit much more efficiently without the use of slaves while crafting automatons to prove that idea is the best one.

I disregard her command, "Why do you want her? You're getting all too huffy over this girl."

"That girl is a more than likely suspect that committed a very recent stream of gruesome murders, namely the slave merchant that we both witnessed within the back-hidden alleyway where we first met and a maid who was out doing midnight errands. I myself came across her during the night and was forced to retreat, heading back to headquarters to inform the higher-ups about my incursion with her."

"Still, it's not set in stone that she really murdered them right?"

"Yes, that's a valid reasoning but we finally were able to crack the remaining slaves that escaped the slave merchant's caravan. All but four confessed that a rabbit demi-human lashed out against the merchant, mauling his body; the other slaves escaping while the little girl brutally killed the man."

"..."

My, what news. A child that's capable of cold-blooded murder? Unthinkable...if it was Earth. I understand, or think I understand the very difference of this world. This current era is of cruelty and hardships, very much like the medieval periods, if I were in this girls shoes i would go rabid if I went through slavery. Before I could piece little snippets of what became of her, her skills and titles and most notable my first encounter with her when I arrived at Aliasa.

This is mine. Regardless if its mad. Selfish I am and prideful I be.

Internal monologue aside, Marianne is really pushy. Probably won't leave me if I ignore her.

My take on Cheru's appearance is somewhat like Tewi Inaba's design, except for the previously stated dark grey hair, ears, and tail. Basically, she's more human than animal characteristic-wise. i believe I talked about how demi-humans look like back at the first thread.

I pondered the decision, taking my current reputation to account and the influence of Marianne's authority. Coming to the conclusion that I can't win socially I sighed, complying to her.

"Fine, I'll trust you, Drilly. For now at least."

"Good," she says, walking up to me while sheathing her sword. "You will follow me. Running will immediately deem you as a criminal under disobeying high authority such as the Palad Order and will prove our talk faulty."

"Yes, yes, love," i said tiredly, "just lead the way."

Departing the last of the slums Marianne trailed me along with Cheru in my arms. Yoshka and Fenrir both offered to help but I turned them down on the account that I'll be branded as an enemy of the populace if I commanded monsters to attack if not threaten the surrounding citizens. Soon, we traversed into the upper district, reaching the Palad Knight Order's headquarters. The main building was big, many equally large facilities accommodating the structure. Near the Palad headquarters was a massive;y grand palace heralding the state's flag, obviously that's where the kingdom's crown family lives as the grandeur architecture says for itself.

Entering the headquarters, knights along with other staff members strolled through the corridors, saluting Marianne as we passed by. The knights themselves shared a uniform, their armor same in design while the normal staff wore a navy blue outfit. The halls of the building's interior was decorated with marble, the passing windows giving quick glances to a training field and barrack as soldiers strike their swords or spears in unison.

We pass an exceedingly amount of specialized rooms until Marianne led me to a double-door. Opening it they presented a staircase going down, the rooms before it just high enough so windows could be placed at the very edge of the ceiling. Inside, the semi-underground corridor was made with clean stones, well lit by a numerous amount of torches and by the sunlight seeping through the glass.

Here, Marianne showed to me the headquarter's dungeon, opening one of the cells.

Sure they Palads could interrogate us or at least try but we'd point out we're a freewoman or just be technically truthful or full truth and let them reject it as false.

Best decision ever, went full truth on my interrogators and they refused to believe it. I even went so far as to speculate/trick them that truth magic had no effect on me and that everything I say to them was based on how amusing it would be.

"Interrogation room please."

Marianne sighs, "...Follow me."

Leaving the dungeon Marianne leads me back into the east wing, taking me to a row of isolated rooms. Inside each of them were a pair of chairs and a table, the doors that holed them off made out of a hard looking metal.

Opening one of them, Marianne ushered me into the dull, cold room. Having a seat, she closed the door and locking it on the opposite side, the metal glowing a faint flash of blue.

"Forgive me if this upsets you but this is to keep you from escaping." Marianne then knocks the door hard, "This is a special metal made to resist magic, blasting it down will only tire you. Wait here while I notify the proper officials, then the questioning will begin."

"Just go on, Drilly, you telling my this won't speed of the process," I say, waving a hand at her.

She just looks at me in a complicated look before leaving.

So what's the plan if they decide they still want to torture and kill Cheru?
Have Yo and Fen guard her, and bust a path out with our monstrous strength?
Then we'd be in deep shit, though.

I start singing Cheru a lullaby again, swaying myself slowly; gently, to ease her. She leaned against me, my chest cushioning her head as she tightens her grip around my waist, slightly trembling from weakness or of sadness. Within this period of time we both wallow inside the cold, my voice the only thing filling the room and halls outside it.

"Hmmm~ Hmm~ Hmm~ Hmm~"

Humming the tune steadily I remember when mom would do this to me, carrying me in her arms and such. Just the thought of it makes my heart feel to burst; a time where things were more innocent. A time separated from my current state. The lullaby I sung was eloquent, and in that eloquence was a calming hymn. Soothing both me and Cheru.

I never thought that I would be a good singer; was too conscious when the other girls in class would do better than me. Jealousy was it? Yes. It was jealousy.

But right now, the hymn that I'm singing surprised me. Me, the girl who never spoke a word till said so singing, to a kid nonetheless.

Maybe because I rarely spoke that I forgot how I sounded. However, the voice I hear myself produce is motherly./

Cheru digs into my breast, hugging me, "...Mommy, Cheru's sorry that you're gone."

I keep singing, the maternal instinct inside me making the lullaby more heartfelt.

Cheru's cheeks become stained in tears, not crying but whimpering. Her voice muffled against me.

Raising the blanket of her I cover the little girl's body as the rag she wears cannot, hugging her into my bosom. How long had it since I felt like this? After my childhood? It matters not. I'm the mother now and I'm not going to make the same mistake mine did.

"Cheru's sorry. Cheru's sorry-- please, don't leave me mommy."

Stroking the bunny girl's head she quietly whined.

She's still a child, even if she's a monster that threatens the common man. Dependent, naive, vulnerable, if it takes another monster to care for such a poor child then I'll shall become one myself, as I'm already one.

--------------------

Under the mixture of a child's cry and the sweet humming of a lullaby, the clanking of armor can be heard. The lock clicked audibly, reopening the magic resistant door. It was Marianne. But with her was another woman dressed in religious looking clothes and a man decked out in a unique set of armor. The armor itself was regal, slim and light in shape; colored in a dark shade of teal and decorated with engravings, carefully chiseled. On his chest was a crest that was just like Marianne's, but it depicted a shining line over arms instead of Marianne's that depicted a lion.

"These are the persons in question," Marianne said, saluting both the priestess and knight.

"So this is her. What do you think Olivia?" asked the knight.

"She's...The one with the mask, she's has an abnormal air around her. There's no doubt that she's powerful, Illiam," replied the priestess.

Side-Story
Hana Kotomine's POV (During Fuuma's wait within the interrogation room.)

Strolling down the grand halls of the palace I hurriedly look for Ruiji. He's always late to our meetings, disregarding our reasoning like he always does. No to be more exact, he has nothing to do with us; apathetic.

Arriving into the palace's royal courtyard I find him lazing under a tree. Beside him was his slave, Ellina.

When we were summoned to combat the demon king, we obtained powers way beyond a human's limits. For my case I gained mastery over ice magic. For Ruji, he gained slave magic. I remember how he excited he was, spouting about another worlds in his books and stuff. He never was the type to do things seriously, always doing the bare minimum even at our school...

Going up to them I addressed Ruiji, "There you are, everyone's waiting for you!"

He wakes up from his daze, "Eh? Oh, Kotomine, what's up."

"Everyone is waiting for you at the meeting room, you gotta go!"

"Do I really have to? I mean, we defended against the demon king's army many times without any losses. What about Calabine Bridge? We stopped the demon army from advancing."

"Yes, we did win but the demon king's still loose. We can't have fun just because we won a pivotal location."

"C'mon, this is another world, why can't we just relax and stuff?' Ruiji said with a shrug. "Imagine all the possibilities. Personally I want a peaceful life from hereon."

"Master, Kotomine's right. I think you should at least attend the meet-up," suggested Ellina, taking my side.

Rujij gave an exasperated sigh, "Fine...So troublesome."

Coming down the entrance to the courtyard, Hanazawa, one of my classmates, ran up to Ruiji, scolding him.

"This is where you were, huh!" she said irritably, her twintails flapping in the wind. "Do you not know how much time has passed!"

"I don't see a problem. It was only ten minutes, Hanazawa," he says, getting up and dusting his back.

"Only ten minutes?! This meeting is important, especially if he demon king just decides to rush Aliasa."

"That's not likely to happen," Ruiji argued. "A demon king isn't that stupid."

Hanazawa was fuming at this point, Ellina tried to calm her down but failed in the process.

"You don't get it do you, all the hard work we're doing while you laze around!"

"I do help, it's just that my ability isn't fit for combat. Ellina is here because of that."

Turning into an all-out argument, Hanazawa berated Ruiji. It proved useless as Ruiji jus shrugged it off, like he always does.

Sighing myself, I adjusted my glasses, "...I'll just wait..."

"Yes.Tell us where you found them," Olivia said, eyeing me through my mask.

"...Where was the orcs' lair?" questioned Marianne.

"It was at the Kleinel Forest. I came there for a quest from the adventurer's guild," I said.

"The Kleinel Forest..." Illium muttered. "...Wait-- That's one of the marked locations on the maps!"

Leaning over to take out my magic map I showed all three of them where I "came" from. A random village, secluded by the mountains and sea. "I'm a hedge mage, which means a mage without formal training from where I'm from. I lived in a small village alongside demi-humans before coming here."

Illium looked at me weirdly, evaluating my claim before nodding slightly. "I see...I believe that suffices."

"As for the child," Olivia interrupted. "We all know that she's dangerous, and for the crime of murder on multiple accounts she would be sentenced to death row--"

"-- High priestess I think that's a bit too harsh," interjected Marianne. "The child is a child. I believe an alternative should be ordered."

"And what would that be Captain Legoune?" said Illium.

Marianne's eyes perk up while Oliva and Illium take my words into consideration.

"We could fix that. I believe the academy lacks combat instructors because of the war," Oliva said. "And I think the children there need to learn some discipline. If you want, you could personally teach the child as well. Maybe accommodation too?"

"Then we'll head out. Captain Legoune, could you take Nemo to one of the guest rooms here?"

"Yes, high priestess."

Exiting the interrogation room, Olivia and Illium leave. Now its just me, Cheru, and Marianne; don't know if Yoksha and Fenrir counts as present.

Looking down at Cheru I smiled at her, though she couldn't see it through my mask.

Turning my attention to Marianne I made it clear how I felt. And she did too by just looking at me.

"Well, well, Drilly, looks like I won a slave without trying," a brief giggle escaping me, "You made me come through some bad time. Don't think I will go easy on you~"

Blushing, she pushed herself to talk, "w-Would you like me to show you to the guest rooms?"

"Yes, please."

Picking up my bag, Marianne took me to the opposite wing of the Order's headquarters. Each room was like a hotel. A lamp, two high quality beds, and furnishings: drawers, closets, and such. There was a bathroom as well, big enough for both Cheru and me if not bigger.

"These rooms are usually for people like chairmen and high executives. How does it look?" Marianne said confidently.

"Ne~! Want to see your brother and sister, Cheru?" I say, sitting down beside her.

Cheru just tilts her head, "Where?"

"You'll see. Come, Yoksha, Fen."

Yoksha slithered down from my neck and next to Cheru. He changed into his human form, sandwiching her.

"Wish you could understand what I was saying when I'm in my wyrm form. Being a human for a brief moment will do," Yoksha said.

Fenrir climbed out my shadow, standing at my feet. "...She's taller than me."

Confused, Cheru looked at Yoksha and Fenrir, switching between the two in a childish gesture. I pull Cheru on my lap, introducing them.

"These are your brother ans sister. Not gonna greet them, no?"

She then addressed them, "H-Hello."

"She's cute. Rght, master?" said Yoksha, turning back into a wyrm.

Fenrir takes Yoksha's place, laying her body on the bed horzontally. Her tail lifting up her skirt. "The bunny's okay but she's taller. Ain't I suppose to be the older sister?"

"Mommy's eyes are bad, they always make people stop in a bad way. So I got a magic blindfold to fix it. I's a work in progess." I then hug Cheru gently, her innocence hypnotizing me.

Turning on the bath I feel the water till it's warm enough, turning it off when it was just right. Carrying Cheru into the bath I gently wash the water over her, making sure every surface is clean. Beside the bath was a jar of bath soap; I took some into my hands, messaging it on both me and Cheru. It had a flowery smell, most likely a luxury product since Marianne did say that these guest rooms were for important people.

----------

Getting out of the bath I dried Cheru with a towel, a stack of them hanging over a dresser within the bathroom. The room was the same when we both got out, Fenrir already asleep on one of the beds as well as Yoksha; under the pillow of course.

I gathered my clothes and put it in my bag, pulling out a skirt and tunic that I bought. As for Cheru she had nothing to change in, a towel only covering herself presently.

Carrying Cheru up into my arms we both go to the mess hall together. There, we asked for some food while mentioning Marianne's name. The cooks there gave us a bag of fruits, vegetables, and bread without a fuss, suspiciously so. One of them piped up, saying that "Captain Marianne" is known for her ferociousness. Killing, hunting, torturing, witches left and right. No one wants to be at the receiving end of her blade, or worse, the dungeon.

I just laugh that off. There's no way she's like that. After all, she's mine now, something to play with my heart's content.

--------------------

Back at the room, I call Yoshk and Fen for food. Yoshka ate up without a fuss but as usual, Fenrir was disappointed that there's no meat; well, she liked that purple apple.

I gave Cheru a piece of bread. At first she nibbled on it but progressed into stuffing her mouth.

"Warm."

"What would you like next, dear?" I say, offering the abundant amount of food within the bag.

Cheru points at a carrot within the stash. Digging it out I give it to her, continuing to smile gently as she eat it.

------------

After we finished eating dinner I put away the still full bag of food into my bag. Yoshka and Fen retook their spots and now it's just me and Cheru still awake. For the time being I just swayed her in my lap while on the bed, just holding each other.

Cheru is something I will not give away because she fulfills me. She makes me complete; anyone who would dare take her will very well expect a manslaughter before I'll find her. A mother's love.

Pulling a pair of necklaces from my bosom, I gave one to Cheru so she can wear it. The necklaces were simple; a key and a lock tied by a very strong string.

I put on the lock necklace around Cheru who fiddled with it while I put on the one with the key.

"Mommy, what is this for?" she asked curiously.

"It's so we can always be together. Never take it off, promise?"

"Cheru promises."

"Good." I giggled, stroking her cheek gently.
__________
Created...

[Mother's Line]
- A pair of necklaces; one with a lock and one with a key.
Effect
- Watchful: When wearing the key the user is able to teleport to the one who's wearing the lock.

__________

Picking up Cheru, her lock dangling around her, I place her next to Fenrir who awoken because of me.

Cheru tried to come back to me but I stopped her, "Mommy's gonna do something real fast. Could you play around with your sister?"

'...Yes, mommy." she said, sitting beside Fenrir again.

"Fen, bond with your sister okay?"

Fenrir scratches behind her ear, "I'll try."

Going into the corner of the room I start to hex myself. If I recall, the summoned heroes are my classmates and the chance that they have power on my level is more than possible; they might have appraise as well which may cause difficulties.

Looking back to Cheru and Fen after hexing myself they were both poking at each other. Well, it's more like feeling each other.

They were both feeling their ears and tail, Fenrir being more reserved about it.

"Getting along~" I said, grabbing both of them.

"You could say that," Fenrir said. "Aren't bunny ears suppose to stand up?"

"Cheru's a different kind," Cheru quietly spoke.

Necklace of holy spirit: The necklace said to be blessed by Alia grants the user innate greater holy shield and nullifies any casted curses and hexes towards the user. If the item is removed forcibly, the item will cast judgement to a offending person. Once weared, the item is bounded to a user.

Cannot be destroyed.

Heading into bed I take both Cheru and Fenrir under the blanket. Wrapping my body around the little bunny girl while petting Fen's tail.

"Brother, help!" Fenrir exclaimed but Yoshka didn't hear as he was fast asleep under the pillow.

"Don't be like that, Fen. Let mommy hug you~"

Like being dragged into hell, Fenrir slipped under the blanket with me, giving up to my strength. Cheru then cuddled closer, her ears drooping over her face. Move Cheru's ears I turn off the lamp, making myself comfortable between the two.

"night mommy," Cheru says at me. "l-love you."

"Fufu, I love you too."

Side-Story
Hana Kotomine's POV

As the night moved on I spent my time in the royal library, researching any way to return to our old world. History books, magic, even stories, I fail to find at least a clue on how the summoning ritual works. The people who summoned us - namely the palace's court mages and the Church of Light's most skilled priest - said that there isn't a way to come back.

"There's got to be some way," i muttered to myself. "It can't just be a one-way summon!"

Unlike the others who invest their time helping the Piladium Kingdom against the demon king, I rather spend my time in the books. Helping people isn't a bad thing, it's just that we had lives before all this. Homura and Jakimura practically don't care about our old world, giving me excuses such as "But the people here needs us" or "We're suppose to be the heroes". Do they not remember Earth? No...they could care less about our original world.

As for Ruiji and Hanazawa, they're off in high jinks here. Yes, they do their jobs as "heroes" but there interest are found elsewhere. Especially Ruiji's interest in a peaceful life. A peaceful life?! Where we were before this WAS a peaceful life...

I close the book, messaging my temples as my eyes ache. "...Weren't there suppose to be six heroes?"

Awakened by a faint crying sound, I find myself still in the headquarter's guest room. The only light being the shining of the moon, illuminating me like a spotlight. Looking over to my left, Fenrir was sound asleep, snoring with her leg hanging over the side of the bed. As for Cheru...

Cheru was trembling, whimpering with a mix of fear and sadness. Her pillow marked with a wet blotch from her tears.

Random idea but what if: We form a magical connection with the people closest to us so we can cast our abilities and spells through them like conduits of a sort.
I mean we're got the Folk Goddess title, we can look into it in our spare time.

That would be pretty cool. But I think it would also need an element of observation, like an alarm that brings our attention if something relevant happens

I'd assume that the Alarm and Auspex magic would be a part of the conduit package.

Pulling Fen's leg back into bed I then sit myself up against the headboard. Cradling Cheru's weak frame I then sing my lullaby to her, rocking her to and from with my arms.

"Hmm~ Hmm~ My dear little rabbit, do not fret do not cry. Mommy's here for you, forever and ever. Hmm~ Hmm~ My dear little rabbit, I sing you this song. Remember my embrace, caring and soft. Hmm~ Hmm~ I love you dear rabbit, and I know you do too. Remember your mother and I will to you... Forever and ever"

Cheru slowly looks at me, her tears welling up from inside her. Her eyes were swirled, glassy and dark as they hold little light. Cheeks flushed red from all the crying, I continue to sing for her. Wiping all the tears away with my hands.

"Cheru doesn't want to be cold no more..."

My song calms her down, the little bunny fearing the cold.

Cheru shuffles under me, her head under mine. Closing our eyes we then go back to sleep, caressing each other till the sun rises.

Waking up later in the morning I see Cheru and Fenrir still asleep. Fen's leg was once again hanging over the bed, her pillow between the other.

I stretch, getting off carefully as to not wake them up. I could hear the faint yelling of soldiers in the training grounds behind the door, probably for morning exercise.

Yawning I look out the window. We must've slept longer than usual because the sun's already high in the sky.

Facepalming myself and acting in exasperation I make sure that my eyes don't affect anyone. "Everybody calm down, it's not the end of the world. Just give me a couple minutes to get dressed."

"Sure," said Marianne, pulling the priestess and knight outside and closing the door.

Firstly, I get to Cheru who has calmed down somewhat by my appearance. "Sorry, dear. Mommy was doing something in the bathroom without telling you."

Cheru hugs me, "Cheru's s-sorry too. I-I--"

"--Don't be."

Smiling at her, I reassured that I'm here. Putting her over to Fenrir's side.

Going over to my bag, I get the last tunic I have. Putting it on as well as my mask from the bathroom. For Cheru, I change her out of her pajamas and into the dress I made last night.

Ready and dressed, for the second time, I go to the door...

"...D-Did you see it?" I say, bashfully. Tweedling my thumbs like a girl inexperienced with love.

"I, uh-- Yes, sorry," Marianne replied, her smile of discomfort growing still as a drop of sweat glides down on the side of her face.

"N-Now I can't get married...I'm yours," getting closer which makes her red to the ears. Meanwhile all of this, Olivia and Illium slide past us for the moment, recovering from the embarrassment. Eyeing Cheru who's hiding childishly behind Fenrir.

Marianne speaks up, "Really?" An oddly hopeful tinge in her word.

I close in, whispering into her ears, "You know you have to take responsibility, right?" To which she nods steadily. I back up, "I'm joking~ Calm down, Drilly."

"Oh, right, hehe," rubbing the back of her head. "...You know, Nemo. You're pretty--"

"--Pretty what?"

"You're pretty, how do I say this...Curvy under those clothes." Marianne said, directing her gaze elsewhere. Undecided if her comment was suppose to be a compliment.

"how impure," Olivia mumbled, covering her mouth in a gesture.

At this point point Marianne is overheating, unable to speak as she's at a loss for words. Her head's red as a cherry, a sweet purity that calls to me.

"I believe we had enough time talking about this!" Olivia exclaimed, her face red as well. "You need to sign these document so our deal from yesterday's afternoon is finalized. And who is that wolf girl?!"

Unhinged, Olivia changes the subject from my hips - to which I'm proud of - to our deal from yesterday and Fenrir who's still asleep.

"Oh don't mind her. Children need all the rest they need to grow."

"So she's yours too?" Olivia questioned.

"Yup," I say, now approaching her mischievously.

Unsettled, Olivia backed up from me until she hit the wall.

"Want to have a feel to, Holy Maiden?"

"I'm fine!"

"Let's see about that~"

With Marianne still entranced by her embarrassment I still have her hand on my hip; now I grabbed Olivia's, leading hers to the opposite side. Forcing her hand down the side she "accidentally" touched my butt. I'm not gonna like, I myself felt to blush.

Olivia pulled her hand away from my backside frantically, "I-I must abstain from these actions! I'm the high priestess of the Pildadium Kingdom's Church of Light!"

She pushed the documents onto me with a pen. At this point I let go of Marianne, ending the fun for now.

Still cautious about the deal I appraise the paper in my hand before I signed it.
__________
Appraising...

No relevant information found...no magic found...

__________

No magic, huh; It headed "Official Royal Court Parchment" with our deal written on it as well. Like all government papers it was filled with clauses that had nothing to do with the topic, only there to just make it look full and professional. I signed "Nemo" at the bottom, going over the document twice to make sure there isn't any trickery between the lines.

Giving Olivia back the document and pen, I see Marianne burnt on the ground. She was mumbling about knight's honor and how acting like that before marriage is wrong, let alone me being a woman as well.

Running over to me, Cheru grabbed my side. Now that her dress that I made was in the sunlight it looked much better; a vanilla colored dress with black hems.

"Listen, as members of the court, church, and army, we had to present your alternative punishment to the other brass. Luckily we passed it and here we are now. But please be aware, other people with be keeping a watchful eye on you. Some may be less lenient and some more malicious."

"Oh. That's pretty serious isn't it."

"It is. And one last thing."

"Hmm?"

"Please wear something proper at Lionheart. You'll be in the presence of nobility."

"Way ahead of you," I said cheerfully. "I don't just wear this outfit all the time."

"Good," Olivia says, closing the door. "May we meet each other sometime."

"You too!"

"What is it?" Marianne said in dreadful anticipation. "I have to go, I'm still a knight."

She got up from the ground, heading to the door in a hurry. However I trip her with another shadow hand. Now I'm standing over her, how I prefer things are to be.

I giggle, my sadism acting up again, "I think you can spare time with me. After all, I'm the person you're suppose to be watching."

"W-What are you doing?!"

"Hasteful your are to leave. Let's enjoy ourselves more now that we have a bit more privacy."

"Last night, the cooks in the mess hall told me about your way with witches. Tell me about that, Drilly...And thanks for helping Cheru and I out there."

Marianne takes a while to answer, her eyes darting around as she comes up with something; even if it's a lie.

"Helping you with the bunny girl was no problem. But to answer your question; witches are a heretical threat to the church, people, and the kingdom. It is my duty to hunt and convert them, even if it means to torture them. For the sake of their lives and others!"

I turn wide-eyed myself. Her words actually surprise me there. It was a confident, full of zeal and belief.

"My, if that's how you feel about witches then what about me? Gonna take me down to the dungeon until I comply to the light?" I teased.
