Merkalin slots the Tome stick into his slate. The slate heats up for a moment and its screen glitches. Images of glyphs flash on and off. A recording starts playing from the slate.

“Ahh. I see you’ve made it out of the sea you slimy eel. Wonderful. As was asked of you we’ve arranged your escape and you’ve come to no harm! Now as payment you’ll need to do your end of the bargain. We’ve left an old ledger of the details and targets. We’ll expect results soon. Also, she won’t be too happy after you wake her up. I’m sure you remember the hash protocols. Glory to the Golden Dawn!”

Elpis looks incredulously at him for a moment. She gestures to the ceiling for a moment mouthing ‘why’ under her breath.

Elpis: Are you fucking serious? We fish a bunch of Strays out the Aether and get a fucking Goldie! And you work for Russian of all those psychos!? (rubbing her temples) This day can’t get worse.

Merkalin’s mind tries to race for an answer. The Golden Dawn doesn’t sound familiar at all to him at all. All he remembers before jumping into the Aether was he had a job that went south and had no choice but to complete. He hurries to stammer an explanation out.

Merkalin's slate starts to act erratically.

The rest of the crew walk out of the gate room and find the hallway fortunately silent. Mylja finds rubble is blocking the way. A lone beam hangs against a large slab and looks climbable.

I knew I forgot something. There were a few updates to the system to streamline things and some quality of life stuff added.

Linework:
-Backend was redone so it's a lot more sane now. This caused a few major changes to skills

-[Ardent Study] lets you find information and helps you figure out ways to use your line effectively in the given situation

-[Focus] is much more similar to aim now

Melee:
- at prof lvl 3 you get [Got your back] allies will not hit you even if they normally would, unless they roll a 10

-[Blood letting] lets you do called shots. Each attack may wound a specific mark once with any remaining wounds being distributed like normal

Ranged:
-[Called shot] works the same as above. Using it on weak enemies causes a debilitation i.e. call shot a mook's leg and it will reduce their speed.

Elpis looks at Merkalin disdainfully. She was obviously dissatisfied with his answer but given their circumstances couldn't follow up. Expecting a barrage of insults, Merkalin is surprised Elpis stands there silently looking at him coldly. She breaks the silent with a sigh.

With that, Merkalin walks up to the wall. He feels around until the slightest crease greets his finger tips. Bingo. The con man begins massaging his throat and quietly doing voice exercises

Mylja presses her fingers against the ground. With a bit of focus she can feel the pulse of everything around her. through the wall are a trio. Ahead of her down the hall is something else. It feels like a mess of bodies mashed together. Whatever it is, it is massive.

Mylja's second attempt at the rubble goes much better. Earth wrings it's way through the rubble fusing sections making a peculiar yet solid wall.
