In the far future, biotechnology advances by leaps and bounds, creating stunning achievements in medical, civil, and military applications. Illness becomes a thing of the past, and genetic modification is as commonplace as cosmetic surgery.

However, like all great advances, unchecked progress and experimentation has led to abuse and corruption. Ultra powerful megacorporations that monopolized the latest biotech have risen to be the great powers of the age, waging secret wars of sabotage, espionage, and deceit to get ahead of each other.

In order to fuel their rampant growth, megacorps develop lethal diseases and viruses, horrific bio-organic abominations, and ever more exotic genetic modifications to both sell to the highest bidder and unleash upon each other.

The rampant proliferation of bioweapons, and the need to contain them, has given rise to a new profession, the BIOWEAPON HUNTER.

You are LEWIS, a Hunter specializing in hunting down biological threats with your T-Doll companion HK!

Currently you were putting HK through some proper trials in your company's training facility. Of course, as per tradition, you would have an advantage over her in that you would have full situational awareness of the area thanks to a built in surveillance system, as well as having a few other assets at your disposal. After all, real fights were never fair by any means.

Currently, HK was moving through the halls of the training floor slowly and methodically, clearing each and every room and corner she came across. She had already settled into a good rhythm.

Time to interrupt that, you suppose.

You wince as you hit the PANIC button. You remember when Hank first used this on you all too well.

In an instant, the entire floor goes dark, only to be illuminated in split seconds by strobe lights flashing in synchronized, random intervals. In addition, a loud, ear piercing siren wails and smoke jets out from the walls and floor.

These were all environmental hazards designed specifically to impair and overload a person's senses. A regular person would be blinded and disoriented, but with anybody sporting biomods that actually enhanced their senses, it was pure hell.

HK hesitates, and you can see her eyes flash and glow, her optics apparently attempting to compensate for the lighting. However, no visual software program could deal with something like this, even with alternate vision modes. The strobes worked on the full spectrum of light. The smoke wouldn't help things either.

The sirens were not only creating an ear piercing sound, but were also generating energy waves that would confuse and hamper other modes of sensing like radar or electromagnetism.

HK, for her part, maintains her cool, or at the very least she doesn't panic. Her movements become even slower and more cautious, and you notice that she's holding her rifle with one hand while the other is running along the nearest wall. In a situation like this, tactile feedback was the most reliable method of maintaining her bearings.

But this mean that she basically had one hand tied behind her back right now.

You hit another button on the control panel, and the kennels open, releasing four Bughounds. Basically just really large, really ugly bug monsters built to move super fast. Typically used as scouts, these things had a thin carapace to repel small caliber rounds and melee hits, as well as teeth and claws to tear apart soft targets.

But, since this was a training environment, these Bughounds were literally defanged. Mostly meant to just scare. They tear through the hallways with blinding speed, panting and shrieking as the sirens whine.

However, HK wasn't having any of it. Despite all of the distractions around her, the T-Doll swung around to face the approaching Bughounds, somehow detecting their movement. She instantly snaps her free hand back to her rifle and lets out a long burst, spraying down the hallway.

The Bughounds are spattered mercilessly with the paint filled training rounds but kept coming.

However, HK wasn't falling back. In fact she was holding her ground. Was she planning something? Or was her programming going haywire? Either way, there was a risk the Bughounds could damage her if you didn't rein them in. Wouldn't be the first time they got someone hurt.

However, HK does nothing, or least fails to respond in time as the lead Bughound pounces and knocks her down, obscuring the both of them in the smoke.

"Shit!" You groan as you hit the recall button and shut off all the hazards.

A high pitched whine then sounds. The Bughounds immediately stop, raise their heads, and rush back to their kennels as they were conditioned to.

"I'll go fire up the repair equipment." Nemo yawns as she sulks off.

Artya picks up her "cleanup" bag, and you quickly shake your head. HK's body was not for slicing and dicing. Your disposal expert simply sags.

You rush into the training room where you see HK sprawled in on the floor, staring straight up at the ceiling and covered in Bughound slobber.

"HK! Are you all right?" You ask, kneeling beside her.

"Status green. No damage to critical systems." HK blinks. "Lewis, I have a request."

"Uh, sure. Go for it." You frown.

"Permission to expunge this training exercise from my short term memory." HK says simply, still lying on her back.

"Heh, it sounds like you're embarrassed." You grin as you offer your hand to HK.

"Is that it?" HK frowns as she takes your hand and you pull her up to her feet. Damn, she was way heavier than she looked.

"Yeah, pretty much." You nod as you pat HK on the shoulder. "Don't worry. It's a perfectly expected response to failure."

"But my model isn't supposed to fail." HK's hands ball into fists. "That's the entire reason why I was designed."

"Whoa, hey there." You frown, looking at HK straight in the eye. "Nobody's perfect. Not even a T-Doll. Take this as a learning experience, okay? Just more combat data to process."

"Affirmative." HK nods. "I will keep the memory intact for now."

"Yeah, so... let's go get you cleaned up." You wince as you finally notice the smell of the Bughound slobber.

"Does it smell that unpleasant?" HK asks as she runs a finger down her slobber soaked shirt.

"Yes. Very." You cough.

You lead HK back to the lab, where Artya is quick to snatch HK's ruined clothes. Fortunately, Nemo has plenty of spares stocked up. Meanwhile, Nemo herself was running through the data she had pulled from HK's recorder.

You decide to stick with HK, though you insist that she change behind a privacy screen rather than in the middle of the lab, which seemed to confuse her. You sit on the other side of the screen, just in case she needed anything.

"Well, looks like our fancy new robot didn't do so hot." Hank smirks as he walks up. "Froze up like any newbie from the looks of it."

You turn your eye to the screen, where you could see HK's silhouette as she slips on a fresh shirt and jacket. There was no way she didn't her what Hank was saying, but she was showing no signs of reacting to it.

"It's hard to believe." You grin as you point a thumb to Hank. "But Hank here was actually pretty scary when he wasn't old."

"Sounds like somebody is asking for another ass kicking." Hank snorts. "I'm not old!"

Both you and HK just stare at him blankly.

"Okay, I'm not THAT old!" Hank concedes.

"So how did Hank utterly embarrass you?" HK inquires, still staring at you.

Straight to the point, huh?

"Well, there's actually not much to say." You groan. "Hank just completely took me apart. Ran circles around me and practically hit me from all sides."

"I still go the vids of showing him crying like a little baby." Hank cackles.

"I would like to see those." HK nods.

"No you don't!" You say quickly. "Hank's just joking around!"

"Am I?" Hank grins.

"Sure." You nod. "What's the job?"

"Looks like an Umbrella train derailed out in the countryside and they're scrambling to keep the whole thing contained." The Boss explains, tossing you a file.

You open up the file and see several aerial photos of a what used to be train, lying on its side in the middle of a field surrounded by smoke and flame. Definitely looked to be a complete and utter mess.

"Not only are there biological contaminants to worry about, but the train was also carrying a number of BOWs and it's confirmed at least a few of them got loose." The Boss further explains. "Umbrella's also afraid some of their rivals are going to swoop in to try and scoop up some of their property, so they're looking for manpower to help on that front, as well."

"I guess I'm in a mood to wrangle some BOWs, then." You grin.

"Great. Get your stuff ready. Umbrella's providing the transport on this one, so their helicopter will be arriving in thirty."

"Got it." You turn to HK. "Do you need anything special?"

"I can suffice with my current loadout." HK says simply.

Hm, well, you were going to be deployed to a rather rural area. Lots of open field with some thick forest mixed in. While an assault rifle was perfectly adequate for an outdoor environment, perhaps you should change things up...?

It was going to be a bit of extra weight, but a second weapon wouldn't hurt. You needed to stay flexible in an open area like that.

Well, there were the obvious choices of having a shotgun for close quarters combat, such as in the confines of the woods, or having a sniper rifle for the open areas. Both had extreme stopping power in their own ways.

Since we're going to hunt BOW on the countryside, there's plenty of line of sight and danger if we get too close. Thus a heavy long range option simply makes sense to bring this time. Also useful to shoot through any foliage or cover that's in the way.

Give the nature of what you were going to be facing out there in the wilderness, you suppose what amounts to a modernized elephant gun would do the trick. You head down to the armor and pick out Big Mama, a heavy .50 caliber rifle. Originally designed to knock out light armored vehicles, Big Mama had proven equally effective against BOWs as well.

The only problem was that she was damn heavy. It would be difficult to shoulder with your primary weapon. Maybe split the components between yourself and HK to spread the weight around? But then that would mean the heavy rifle would need to be assembled before firing.

You decide it was best to disassemble Big Mama for now and split the parts between you and HK. That way your mobility wouldn't be too significantly hampered, even if some time would be needed o set the heavy rifle up. You quickly take the weapon apart and divide the parts equally into two carrying kits. You would carry the main receiver and trigger assembly while HK carried the barrel, bipod, stock, and extra ammunition.

Now properly armed for the situation, you give HK a nod and the both of you head to the roof just as the Umbrella chartered helicopter arrives. The Boss and Hank are there to see you off.

"Just remember, those Umbrella-brand BOWs may not be particularly fast, but they don't go down easy." Hank cautions.

"And you don't have to worry about collateral damage, this time!" The Boss smiles. "So don't be afraid to go all out!"

You're not quite sure if that was a compliment or not. At least you wouldn't have Lucina and her new partner hounding your ass, though.

Both you and HK board the helicopter, settling into the passenger compartment as it lifts off from the ground to take you to your destination. You glance at HK, who simply stays motionless as she stares straight ahead. You wonder what must be going through her head, or processor? Or whatever.

"So... HK." You speak up in an attempt to break the silence. "Are you still bothered about the training run earlier?"

"Yes." HK nods. "I've been continually running self analysis on the reason for my poor performance. "I think I may have found the issue with my performance."

"Really now?" You ask as you take a seat next to her. "And what do you think it was?"

"My programming did not include consideration of the effects of nonlethal training rounds on targets, which in hindsight is a rather critical oversight. I was working under the assumption my bullets were still lethal and would stop the targets. When the expected result did not occur, it caused an error in my analysis and decision making loops."

"So... basically you weren't expecting the training bullets to not actually kill the Bughounds." You frown.

"Correct." HK nods. "I believe your chief scientist would have made the same conclusions from my combat data and forwarded it to my manufacturer so they can implement a future fix."

"Can't you just modify your own code?" You ask. "You're self learning, right?"

"To an extent." HK nods. "However, a code change of that level would require administrative approval for me to implement by myself."

"Don't I technically have admin rights over you?" You ask, immediately realizing those were odd words to say to anybody else.

"As my direct owner, you would have that authority." HK nods.

"Then I don't see the problem of you self patching your code." You shrug. "When necessary, of course."

"Acknowledged." HK nods and her eyes glow. "Software updated. It should not be a problem next time."

"Good to hear." You grin

A few more silent minutes pass by before you decide to ask another question.

"Hey, HK, mind if I ask you something personal?"

"I am obligated to answer your queries no matter the circumstance." HK says simply.

"Do you..." You pause, looking for the right words. "Do you have any memories before being assigned to me?"

"Negative. I am a newly built model. My only memories date back to my first activation yesterday." She explains simply.

"Right, sorry, stupid question."

"I fail to see why that question would be considered stupid." HK frowns.

"Nevermind." You sigh.

Finally, you feel the helicopter beginning to descend, indicating that you were nearing your destination. You glance out the window and sure enough, you could see the derailed Umbrella train underneath. Overturned train cars lay all over the countryside, with some smoking and smoldering, others still on fire. You could also see Umbrella cleanup teams swarming all over the site, containing and recovering any materials they could while destroying the rest.

The helicopter touches down at what you assume is their command post. Just a small cluster of hastily erected tents, but everything was set up on short notice so you couldn't really judge. One of the Umbrella soldiers points you the central tent, where you could see a woman in a business suit glaring at a holomap of the area.

"Oh, another Hunter. Excellent." The corporate agent nods at your arrival. "Look, I'll keep things short and sweet. We have BOWs on the loose, and our manpower is stretched thin just keeping the damn crash site under control."

The agent then nods to one of the umbrella soldiers, who hands you a data disk.

"That's a list of all the BOWs that are currently unaccounted for." The agent explains.

You insert the disk into you tablet and give it a quick look. Seemed like the standard stuff. Some Lickers, a few biomodded animals, and..

"A Tyrant?" You grimace.

"What about it?" The agent raises an eyebrow.

"Isn't that... military grade?" You ask cautiously. Tyrants were particularly nasty BOWs. Large, fairly intelligent, and freakishly strong. The things were practically walking tanks and not something you would want getting close to you.

"Of course. Umbrella has numerous military contracts and the Tyrant product line is one of the most heavily in demand." The agent says simply. "If you think that's too hard for you, you can just go. I don't have the time deal with people who won't work."

"Don't worry Lewis, we have an 86.8% chance of success against a Tyrant-class BOW." HK tries to assure you.

"Anyways, we've already got our own and other private assets out there working containment." The agent continues. "You don't bring anything in, you don't get paid. Can't be rewarding freeloaders after all."

"Sure thing." You nod as you review the list again.

"HK, well go after the Tyrant." You say with a grin. "You up for it?"

"Of course." HK nods as she arms her rifle. "Please lead the way."

"Right. Stay close." You instruct. "I'm assuming you never actually fought a Tyrant."

"Correct, but I have the recorded combat data of Tyrant-class BOWs and have run numerous electronic simulations against them." HK explains. "I have been very thorough. I can engage with a high degree of confidence."

Well, you hope she was right about that. Tyrants were no joke.

And so, the two of you left the Umbrella base camp, marching out in the smoke choked countryside in search of your prey.

You and HK head off in the disaster zone. Up ahead, you can see train cars that had to have weighed several tons each lying on the ground twisted and torn like broken toys. Umbrella soldiers and cleanup technicians were everywhere, going over each car with a fine tooth comb to ensure the cargo within was accounted for.

However, what you were only interested in was the whereabouts of the missing Tyrant-class. Bagging it would earn a nice bonus from Umbrella and earn you a bit a Hunter cred. With Big Mama and HK on your side, you figure you had pretty good chances of taking one down.

"So, HK, can you track the Tyrant-class from here?" You ask her.

HK's eyes glow for a few seconds as she surveys the carnage.

"Results inconclusive. Too much interference present. Perhaps if we find the original car the Tyrant-class was stored in, we can start from there."

You give the area another quick survey. There were... a LOT of derailed train cars. Over in the distance, you could spot a nearby treeline. Perhaps the Tyrant wandered there, if it hadn't been found already.

HK weaves through the smoldering wreckage with purpose and intent, ignoring everything that would be considered extraneous or distracting. However, her eyes are a constant source of activity, flitting back and forth at an almost inhuman speed as she continually updates her image of the surrounding area.

HK then comes to a halt and points ahead. There, you see a large, armored train car, its side shredded open like paper when it impacted the ground. Definitely looked to be some sort of secure transport.

"Part of the number is obscured, but there is 95.7% probability this is the car we are looking for." HK announces.

That's when you hear a howl, and dogs... no, wolves begin emerging from the grass, their eyes glinting in the failing sunlight. Come to scavenge the remains, no doubt.

"HK, are they infected?" You ask.

"Scans show they are within environmentally safe levels." HK announces. "Extermination is unnecessary. I've already picked up a possible trail we can follow."

However, the wolveswere still a potential threat if they stuck around. It would probably be easy enough to scare them off, but in a place like this, perhaps it'd be better to put them down before they ate something they shouldn't, especially with all this hazardous material lying around...

"Hey! HEY! Get outta here!" You yell at the wolves as you fire a few rounds into the dirt near them. The animals wouldn't be able to understand you, but the noise alone should be enough to scare them off.

Sure enough, the wolves, startled by your sudden aggression, whimper and run off, trying to put as much distance between themselves and you as possible.

"Was that action necessary?" HK wonders.

"Better than them eating something they shouldn't." You grunt. "So which way are we going?"

"I'm detecting traces of heavy footprints moving that way."

HK points northwards, and as nightfall begins to creep in, your stomach drops when you see lights winking on in the horizon.

Of course a BOW would be attracted to a populated town.

"Attempting to contact emergency services." HK says, but he eyes flicker for a moment. "Error. Connection failed. Outbound signals are being blocked."

"Hey!" You grunt as you fire up your comm line to the Umbrella base camp. "Your Tyrant is headed for a nearby town! Shouldn't you be warning them?"

"The town is outside of our quarantine zone." The Umbrella agent says simply, her voice tinged with annoyance. "If you're on the Tyrant's trail, then go and take care of the problem. That's why you're here, aren't you?"

And then the transmission cuts.

Of course. Umbrella was trying to keep a lid on this whole situation. They'd rather risk the safety of a nearby town than admit they fucked up.

"78.5% probability of success." HK nods. "5.6% chance of civilian casualties regardless of outcome."

Man, HK sure did love calculating odds...

"Acknowledged." HK nods as she sets the bag containing her half the heavy rifle down on the ground. "Moving out to make contact with the target."

And with that, HK takes off with blinding speed, her robotic frame providing infinite stamina and superior strength that would give even the most heavily biomodded sprinter a run for their money. As HK's figure fades into the darkness, you start getting busy assembling HK, quickly but carefully slotting her pieces together...

However, as you're setting up, you hear a rustling of grass and you turn to see a figure standing over you, his shadow long and dark in the last vestiges of the falling sun.
He was a towering brute of a man, if he was even anything close to human. His large frame was clad in black body armor and tactical gear, his face shrouded by a helmet and gas mask. Two glowing red lenses scan you with the intensity of HK's curious gaze. The only identifying feature you could see on him was an Umbrella patch on his shoulder.

And then that's when it hits you. You've never met him personally, but you had heard lots of stories from Hank and other Hunters.

It was HUNK, the Grim Reaper himself. Umbrella's premier enforcer, famous for never failing a mission.

And equally infamous for almost always being the sole survivor of said mission.

Nobody was sure if HUNK was actually a single person, or a team of faceless super soldiers or something entirely different. All that was known was that he was called out to deal with the direst of situations, when subtlety was no longer a concern.

HUNK continues to glare at you with those red lenses, utterly silent. He didn't seem to be in an aggressive stance, but he certainly wasn't being friendly, either.

"Hey there..." You gulp. "Can I, uh... help you with something?"

"Are you part of the response team?" HUNK asks.

"Y-yeah, of course." You nod quickly. "I'm one of the Hunters called in to help clean up."

HUNK stares at you again with those red lenses and after a few more uncomfortable seconds, he nods.

"That's a lot of firepower you're packing." He observes as he glances at Big Mama.

"Well, we sort of need it when we're trying to bag a Tyrant." You point out.

"Ah." Hunk nods again, seemingly satisfied.

"So... are you here to help?" You ask cautiously.

"Investigation." HUNK grunts. "Unless you happen to have any information on how this train derailed, you don't need to be concerned."

Thank god.

"Huuuuuuuunk! There you are!" You hear a female, singsong voice.

You turn to see a girl clad entirely in black, with red eyes and pale skin and hair. She was waving as she was walking over, and you could see that her left arm was black metal. You trigger you bionsensor and get hit with a huge EM reading, similar to HK's. Another T-Doll?

"You're late, SOP." HUNK growls. "What have I told you about unnecessary distractions?"

"But Huuuunk, I saw an infected bear so I had to exterminate it!" SOP says as she skips over. "And it had the most beautiful pelt, so I took a bit of it!"

That's when you realize there was a freshly skinned bear pelt slung over the T-Doll's shoulder.

"Oh! Hi there!" SOP waves at you with her clearly robotic hand, the metal fingers clicking as they moved.

"Let's move." Hunk grunts

"Whaaaaat? But we just got here!" SOP whines.

"We're not paid to stand and talk." HUNK says simply. "Let's go. No more distractions."

"Okaaaaay." SOP pouts before following in HUNK's wake. "Hey hey, if we find any of those guys, can I keep some of their eyes?"

By that point, HUNK had ventured far enough way that you didn't hear his response. Perhaps it was better that way. You did nothing to stop the pair from leaving, only returning an awkward wave to SOP as she happily waves at you.

"Lewis, can you hear me?" HK's voice buzzes in your earpiece.

"Yeah, I hear you." You say as you return your attention to setting up Big Mama.

"I've engaged the Tyrant and am leading it to the ambush point. Are you ready to fire?"

"Ready and waiting!" You say as you haul up Big Mama and plant her on top of a solid piece of wreckage, using it to help prop up the massive rifle.

"I'll be breaking the treeline in 32 seconds." HK says. Already, you can hear distant pops of rapid gunfire. Please be ready."

You heft the rifle and look through the site, carefully ranging it. One cue, HK bursts out from the trees, only pausing occasionally to pivot around and fire several bursts at the massive Tyrant chasing her, goading it to follow.

Now, even though Big Mama had a lot of punch, she wasn't exactly built to be precise. A headshot could instantly take down the Tyrant, but it was a relatively small and tough target. Maybe a center of mass to knock it down.

You settle your sights just as the Tyrant breaks the treeline. As expected, it was nothing but a wall of rotting, putrid flesh, somehow given life by some unknown means.

Fortunately, a good thing about Tyrants were that they were big targets. You settle your crosshair over the Tryant's chest and pull the trigger.

You fire Big Mama, sending a .50 caliber shell plunging right into its torso. Unfortunately, you slightly misjudge the drop of the heavy round, and it arcs down slightly and embeds itself directly into the Tyrant's gut, momentarily stopping it in its tracks.

Its eyes then turn to you, focusing on you as the new threat.

HK attempts to draw it away again with a burst of rifle fire, but the smaller caliber bullets simply bounce off or get stuck in its thick, armored flesh.

You empty the rest of the magazine, but the Tyrant simply bodies the shots as it charges your position. You only barely have enough time to roll out of the way as the Tyrant plows through your firing position like a raging bull, smashing Big Mama to pieces.

Damn, you can already picture both Hank and the Boss chewing you out for losing such a venerable (and expensive) rifle.

HK continues pouring automatic fire into the Tyrant, which is starting to finally deal some damage to it, but with Big Mama down, the Tyrant turns its attention back to HK.

With Big Mama smashed, you had very limited options in taking this beast down. If you could get some more distance, some high explosive grenades would do the trick. Or you could be reckless and try to take it from behind in close combat...

Seeing the Tyrant staring to take off towards HK, you quickly slap a 40mm grenade into your underbarrel launcher and fire it. It was less and indirect lob and more like a direct cannon shot right into the Tyrant's back.

The Tyrant roars as it is brought to its knees, before collapsing to the ground completely.

"Target is down." HK reports, closing in with her rifle at the ready. "Permission to terminate?"

While it was general practice just destroy rogue BOWs, it was sometimes beneficial to take them "alive", since it was cheaper than having to completely grow a new one, and the megacorps generally appreciated it if you saved a buck for them.

Then again, that was assuming you'd even be able to keep it suppressed until an Umbrella containment team could arrive.

"Roger that." You nod and turn to HK. "We'll just sit tight for a bit here.

Suddenly, the Tyrant springs to life, swiping one of its mighty clawed arms at HK.

You narrowly have enough time to grab HK and pull her away just out of reach of the attack. It was a damn close one.

However, it looked like the Tyrant was already starting to recover, even as blood still oozed from its open wounds. It lets out an inhuman roar as it renews its attack.

"Shit!" You grunt. "We gotta put it back down!"

"Please let me handle this." HK says as she steps forward, handing her rifle off to you. "I'm better suited in this sort of situation than you."

Was she planning on taking on the Tyrant by herself...?

Unfortunately for the both of you, the Tyrant is far faster than either you or HK anticipate, and it swings its arm out.

However, even though HK wasn't quite as fast as the Tyrant's attack, she was fast enough to push you out of the way and take the hit herself. HK disappears from view as she bounces and rolls away in the grass.

"FUCK YOUUUUU!" You yell as you roll onto your back and unload with both assault rifles into the Tyrant. The BOW flinches from the hail of gunfire

But just small caliber bullets weren't going to be enough. You still had a fresh grenade loaded up, but at this distance...

Shit, at this stage, you had no choice but to risk it. HK was down and you weren't sure what her status was, and the Tyrant was far too close for comfort. You switch off the safety on your grenade launcher and pull the trigger.

Your grenade launcher fires with a loud WHUMP, sending the heavy grenade flying through the air and plunging straight into the Tyrant's torso, Whether by luck or design, the grenade embeds itself through one of the gaping bullet holes left by Big Mama. Contained by the Tyrant's thick flesh, the grenade blows the Tyrant's top half apart while sparing you from any sort of injury, other than getting spattered with Tyrant guts and gore.

However, you didn't feel excitement or elation, only concern as you scramble to your feet and rush over to HK.

And there she was, standing on her feet. Sure, her clothes were in tatters, her hair completely disheveled, and some of her skin and flesh was torn away showing the robotic components underneath, but she was functional. At least for now.

"Don't worry, the damage is only minor." HK tries to assure you as she takes a step and stumbles forward, necessitating you catching her before she feel down again.

Well, the Tyrant was down for good, but Big Mama was trashed and HK suffered not insignificant damage.

There was going to be a lot of explaining to do when you got back...

I personally believe that Phoenix Point would have been a good influence for Magical Girl Hunter with the whole Invader thing. But I can also see some of the factions meshing with Bioweapon Hunter especially the ones that want to modify themselves.

If we keep this up with our enemy encounters, we may have to streamline our weapon loadouts for more expendable alternatives. I don't think we're exactly swimming in anti-material rifles. Also, knowing what we're hunting beforehand will always be a major boon.

Not to mention that I think we should reconsider transformation mods turning our flesh into armor like a Warframe, and instead wear a manufactured bio-armor like a Guyver (although transformation would be useful if we don't have access to armor or weapons, or are short on time).

Losing the anti-materiel rifle was just bad luck, but getting HK hurt and almost getting killed by the Tyrant was bad decision making. We should have put the thing down the first chance we got and taken the regular payout instead of going for broke.

Also, a brand new Barrett M82 / M107 retails for slightly more than $10k today, and is on the high end of the price range for a .50 BMG anti-materiel rifle. We probably can't afford to do it every mission, but bagging a Tyrant should definitely pull in enough dosh to make up for losing the gun.

>manufactured bio-armor

Sounds good, but I'm concerned for the interface with the suit/symbiote. I'd imagine that it could get kinda /d/ with some of the more formfitting suits using cilia or tentacles lining the inside to interface with the half or completely naked user.
>>
>>2915255
I'm not sure what sounds worse, putting on a living suit with an always cold and moist interior, or the fact it gives every user a feel up whenever anyone puts it on.

Must be popular with some ladies.

When the QM offers a bonus payout, it is almost a given that players will get greedy, even if quests run by said QM have a nasty habit/history of having the RNGods screw over the players big time.

I would say that losing the long gun was caused by us trying to load another round when beast was already charging us which could be seen as bad judgement

>I would say that losing the long gun was caused by us trying to load another round when beast was already charging us which could be seen as bad judgement
I think it was at least tactically sound to keep hitting it with the big gun in the hopes of bringing it down. We probably couldn't have one-shotted it with the grenade launcher otherwise, and an under-barrel 40mm is a lot harder to use and slower to reload in CQB than a magazine-fed bolt action. Considering the dice rolls we got, I think it was probably the best outcome we could hope for.

You know what I realized? Is if we upped and ran away from the gun while the Tyrant was chasing us, then we could have told HK to use it while it's distracted with us.

I'm sure that people would be perfectly willing to wear a semi-living suit of skintight armour enhancing strength, speed, and agility at the cost of riding up something fierce and leaving little to the imagination. I just don't see Lucina wearing one unless it's an emergency.

That anon who pushed for us to take Neopup was right after all. Grenades seem to work better on bioweapons than AP bullets.
