You are 999, a blobby mass of joy and happiness for all! And right now, you're pulling an infiltration mission upon an eldritch city.

Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=999+Quest

List of Current Traits, Skills and Trinkets.
>Trait- Fearless (B++): You do not fear the darkness or anything within it. Though you might end up somewhat unnerved.
>Trait- Arcadian Versed (C++): You now understand more of the land of Arcadia and its masters than most would at first suspect. Take that, Foundation!
>Trait- Happy Dancer (C+): You tend to dance when you're really happy or when you've succeeded at a great task. You aren't really all that good right now, but you aren't exactly bad at it either.
>Trait- Selfless (A): You care far more about the feelings of your friends and allies than you do your own, and will gladly sacrifice your own happiness for them (You have reserves anyhow).
>Trait- Scholar of Realms (F-): You understand how some of the realms of this new land function, as well as basic summoning work to call upon thier denizens. Of course, only in the simplest possible form of such.

Skills
>Purifying Touch (B): Your very touch can set truly evil beings ablaze in purifying white flames. Truly, hugs are no laughing matter with you
>Song Of Fury (E+): Through the power of song, you can call up a storm of pure melting power to descend upon your foes and teach them their follies.
>Rain-Call (F+): You may summon a permanent drizzling of rain (complete with accompanying thunderstorm) in any area that you currently reside within, disregarding any dimensional blockages or other forms of preventative measure. You're getting better at calling down the rain in difficult situations, but it's not winning any talent shows any time soon.
>Snow-Storm (F++): You can spontaneously generate a freezing effect capable of completely encasing an entire area in a layer of permafrost. Requires the use of a Dream Trinket or another active trinket. Your usage of this skill has grown your ability to manipulate it. You can make ice-slides now!
>Voice Of Pain (E-): Your very voice can be a weapon against some of your foes. Though it could use some more training behind it
>>
>>2908760
Active Trinkets/Other Items
>Dream Trinket: A small odd thing given to you by a wounded being within a dream of a festering city. Grants you the ability to cast Snow-Storm and invert local physical forces. You will not fail again
>Toy replica of the Shaded Palace: a miniature version of Vuindred's own Palace. Perfectly huggable, but its definitely not the real deal.
>>Bag of Treats: Sweet enough to munch on, and pleasant enough to leave you feeling contented afterwards. May or may not be enchanted to a degree.
>Summoning Tips, By Vuindred The Black: Exaclty what it says on the cover. Vuindred gave you this for whatever reason, seemingly feeling it relevant reading for you. You should thank him when you next get the chance.

Friends
>Vuindred the Black: The Archmage who lords over the Shaded Palace. Doesn't seem to like you all that much. Which is okay, because you really like him!
>Wisps/Hursih: Strange manifestations of spiritual energy. Are actually really nice, and even gave you a small tour of the Palace. You can't really tell them apart though.
>Dr Spanko: The greatesteth Doctor in the fourth crackledoodle! Cack! NeinNeinNein is much gratitudes for friendiest goldojellodip on the swimming pole!
>Lord Theodore Thomas Blackwood: Gentleman explorer, dashing hero and collector of the strange. One of the finest companions you could ever ask for, Foundation or otherwise

Unknowns
>The Mysterious Stranger: A man in a red suit stuck(?) in a wheelchair who saved you following an incident in an Arcadian Realm. Seems friendly enough, but he gives you an odd feeling.

Previously on 999 Quest:

You had crash-landed into a surreal expanse of gold and alien structures, met back up with your friends already exploring outwards, and fought against the disturbing Guardians patrolling the place. After a frankly unnerving initial encounter, you and your companions have now found a massive palace-like structure that seems to be the source of the Guardians, and both you and Spanko have now infiltrated it to try and gain a better lay of the land, whilst Blackwood looks for anything that might help you to understand what you're facing here.

You 'sit' on the edge of a writhing wall of golden material, Spanko beside you, as you both look down upon the strange moving architecture below you. The wound you tore in the city has already patched over and none of the Guardians or other forces patrolling seem aware of your presence. Odd, but likely a blessing in disguise.

What are your plans now?

You motion to Spanko, conveying your plan to him. He gives you a nod, not bothering to talk and instead focusing on the mission. You both leap down from the liquid mass of gold forming the wall, and plummet down towards the city, with you spreading your mass outwards to catch onto some of the structures and hold yourself up.

'Now there should be some area leading to the internal structure of this thing if it's at all like a normal city', you think. And after looking over the area for a moment you spot it. A gaping hole with flecks of odd gold-powder wafting up from within the deep black. That's your ticket in right there.

But you can clearly see strange puppetlike things moving about it, their eyes gleaming with a deep red-light. You'll have to be careful here.

The creatures jerk and move unnaturally around the hole, with their movements seeming squarely focused on it. Some patrol in single semi-circular spaces around it, whilst others move further out from it in their routes, and others just st and stockstill, with but a small few moving their heads about to indicate awareness. But all seem to revolve the hole in some manner.

You must have found something pretty important for this much protection to be focused on it. The question is what?

"Blorble-blorb." you say as you tell Spanko of your plan. He games a for a good few seconds, before heaving a sigh and going to sit on one of the smaller and nearer structures (but sized just enough that the puppets can't catch sight of him) to watch you.

Quickly and quietly, you morph your form into that of an orange doll and drop on down to the strange puppet things, and as soon as you fall, you begin to imitate their alien behaviors and patrol patterns. Several of them look at you, the red-lights in their sockets dimming into impossibly tiny pinpricks for a solid minute or two, before with an unnerving sound like the creaking of rotting wood, their eyes brighten again, and they go back to whatever they were doing, seeming content in their assessment.

That was close. Now then, what's your first course of action here?

You inspect the hols, noting that several of the puppets are looking down into it as well and are even 'kneeling' with their hands clasped in some odd form of prayer. You mimic this action, and as you do so, you can hear the faintest whispering from deep within the pit, twisting things that dance through the corridors of your mind. Hungry. Searching. You pull away from the expanse in a sudden jerk that none of the puppets seem to notice or care about.
>strange whispers have touched your mind in a revolting communion. Your Nightmares may grow...

You watch as more of the puppets drift away from the hole, and only a few remain closer to it. When only five are seated next to the lip of the pit, you move your pseudopods from your form to shove them all in at once. You watch as they plummet into that inky well, and become no more, their forms unwinding into strange patterns mid-fall. None of the other puppets notice this occurring.

>Use our Purifying Touch on the rest of the puppets.
You slowly move up to the rest of the puppets and begin to burn them away with your Purifying Touch. It's faster going than when you tried it out on the Guardians, but it's still too slow for your tastes. The creatures merely twist their heads to look at you as you burn them away, the lights of their eyes pinpricks of hatred landing into you. You're glad that their heads melt away faster than their bodies do, honestly.

Soon enough, all of the remaining puppets have been purified, and Spanko comes on down to join you. He pats you with a wing and says something about "Appleseed pudding", before turning his attention to the great void before you both. It almost seems to be mocking you.

You wisely decide to turn away from the obviously evil, demonic hole and look around. Several of the buildings seem taller than when you first looked (did they grow while you weren't looking?) and entirely new paths have opened up around you.

The leftmost path seems to continue further on into some more densely crowded city-structure, and you're fairly certain you see some more puppets floating about down there, whilst the right paths lead out to strange golden towers and sculptures of various shapes and sizes.

>Go to the right path, and attempt to climb up the highest tower we can find, so we can get a good view of the entire city.
You choose to move to the right path, Spanko slowly following, but never taking his gaze from the hole as he moves. It really seems to have him on edge for some reason.

You quickly approach the glistening structures of gold, with some being great towers stretching upwards, and others being statues and scluptures permanently frozen in rictuses of pleasure and agony. Spanko remains to the ground, still staring off in the direction of the hole you left from.

With some quick deduction, you manage ot find and climb up the highest of the towers, and once you reach a decent altitude, you begin to look around at the city. As you scope it out, you can clearly see other holes like the one you encountered, with some more puppets, a few Guardians, and even stranger things surrounding them all. Near the center of it however, you see a truly large pit, covering the equivalent of several city blocks at the absolute least, and something steadily bubbling out from it.

"Blorb!" you shout down at Spanko and call him up, before reaching out with your tdndrils and holding him close for a moment. He visibly calms down some, but still seems somewhat shaken up. You let go of him, and then look down below at a building that flows and moves like jello, before jumping down towards it from the tower, eliciting a frightened "cack" from Spanko.

You land and bounce on top of the jelly-like mass of gold in style, feeling somewhat proud of yourself, before quickly moving to head towards the massive pit you saw. The whispers grow deeper and longer, and you can hear something else alongside them. Like a booming chanting resonating throughout your form.

>look down the pit, trying to see what's causing the whispers.
You look down towards the pit from your current vantage point on one of the buildings, and you see numerous entities surrounding it, all kneeling and 'praying'. Amongst them you see the puppets with their gazes purely locked upon th void, but you also see the Guardians kneeling as well, their massive bodies oddly fitting in next to their fellows, along with strange creatures made out of flowing gold and grinding gears. The whispering intensifies, and you can almost start to make something out from the noise.

"Come....Gorr'Rylaehotep....Come...Black King." you hear, a dull drone slowly intensifying as the creatures press themselves ever deeper in their prayers. The black void continues to bubble upward with every chant from the servant creatures, and you can almost see something pulling itself upwards from that expanse.

You suddenly manage with absolutely all of your willpower to pull yourself away from the entity's gaze, but you quickly notice just how close you are to the pit and recoil back in fear. How long were you out?

Spanko is already down on the ground and is beating back the hordes of puppets and other nightmares that have now become active following you interrupting their ritual. And that...*thing* is still rising out from the void before you. You try not to look at it, to shut your eyes and will it away, but all you get is hateful static moving all around you. Eating at you.

Trait "Fear of the Black King" has been realized. You have seen true evil and it has seen you in turn. Even the sanctity of your own mind has been tainted, and your dreams become nightmares

You still see some of the creatures sitting by and chanting, steadily trying to pull that thing out of the rift, the whispers growing ever stronger throughout the air.

You shake off your fear and revulsion, and move towards the chanting entities (pointedly trying to ignore the entity they're calling up), drawing out your Dream Trinket and pushing as much power into it as you can. The air becomes still, even as Spanko and the nightmarish beings duke it out around you. Once more, living music flows through you, denying the darkness.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=mMTbyG5zoyE

Your Song explodes outwards and strikes t the abominations, with the lesser entities like the puppets being immediately annihilated, whilst the larger ones explode in places as their mass boils and freezes and bends and warps. And yet even with all that, it's still not enough. The whispers are only growing and your power isn't cutting through them as you had hoped. The thing in the rift is still rising outward, ebon tendrils roving out to snuff out the defiant light once and for all.

>Use our Voice of Pain ability on the Black King.
>Hug harder. If he's not giving we are not hugging hard enough
You call upon your own inner voice, and let it spread outwards throughout the area. You watch as several of the Guardians Spanko is fighting begin screeching and tearing st themselves, whilst the puppets and the amorphous creatures start to dissolve into nothingness. But the song doesn't seem to do anything to the main entity emerging from the void, its tendrils almost lazily moving about the air.

But with a single sudden movement that you couldn't perceive, a blow glances you and sends you hurtling backwards, a single tendril having moved in an instant against you, and skewering you through your side. You manage to reach out and wrap your pseudopods around the tendril and press into it in a hug some, trying to purify it with your touch, but the flames that do alight upon it quickly wink out one by one. Snuffed out by whatever this thing is.

You feel the static pounding at you once again, eating away at you. But before you fully give in, you watch as the tendril is knocked away with afast-moving blast.

"999 my lad, you simply must try to be less dismal in matters of apocalypse. Are you not the brightest and most joyous amongst us?"

>Give Blackwood a quick, happy greeting, and then attempt to freeze the Black King with a Snow-Storm.
"BLORBLE!!" you shout at the daring explorer, who's currently seated on top of one of the golden buildings, sipping a cup of tea and brandishing a rather large cannon.

"Good to see you as well my boy. But we have greater problems to deal with wouldn't you agree?" the man says, gesturing over to the steadily tiring Spanko and the widening rift. Oh, right. That was a thing.

You take out your Dream Trinket, clutch it tightly and you watch as it gleams with a brilliant white light. You point the steadily brightening trinket to the rift and the evil pulling itself free from it (doing your best to focus squarely on the light and nothing else), and then force the stored up energy outwards. From the trinket slights a single beam of energy and with that beam, a storm of devastation descends upon the Black King.

A scream-no, thousands upon thousands of screams echo out at you as the rift begins to freeze over with thick permafrost. They all sound like the voices of children, in pain and fear.

You fall forwards, barely standing. But you managed to help, and that's all that matters.

Despite your exhaustion, you've still got a job to finish. You move towards the few remaining puppets and Guardians, and begin to purify them through your touch, with the Guardians breaking apart much faster due to the damage they suffered from Blackwood and Spanko's combined assault.

"Blorble...borb? [Now what do we do about...*that*?]" you ask Blackwood once all of the servitor entities are destroyed, pointing over to the rift and the force still pulling itself into reality.

"Hrmph, I suspect that this might be of help." Blackwood says, before pulling out something and brandishing it. An odd ring with a heart adorning its front, pulsating and beating steadily with waves of mystic power.

"I might need your help for what comes next, 999, Spanko. Be ready on my mark." Blackwood replies, now focused on the Black King who has begun to tear its way out of the ice before you, the frost melting into inky darkness at its touch.

"Blorble-worl! ["Ok, whatever you're going to do with this ring, do it now!"] you shout as the the ice you created turns into a festering bubbling mass and the Black King starts to fully pull itself upward. 'Tootalltootalltootalltootall' plays again over and over upon your mind as you look at it in that split instant, static clouding your vision.

"Not yet. Not yet..." Blackwood whispers under his breath, as the Black King moves its tendrils out from the gaping void. Spanko cacks and waves his wings in the air in panicked preparation.

You yourself close your eyes to block out the static, and begin to focus. Visualizing a great flaming sea before you, standing out against the dark. The Black King is gliding out from the darkness, to snuff that light out, and the air runs chill. You can feel its many limbs wrapping around you, drawing you away from that flame, pulling you into the dark where it rules unopposed...Crushing...drowning you out...

"NOW!!!" Blackwood suddenly shouts, pointing the ring forwards, the heart beating with a deep internal flame that lances into the approaching darkness, eliciting another thousand-thousand screams of young children from the Black King.

"999, Spanko! Lend me your wills! Now!" the gentleman explorer shouts out to you.

You reach outwards with your limbs, pulling once more upon a well-spring of power buried within, catching Spanko doing similar out of the corner of your eye. All your focus directed onto Blackwood and the beam of light emanating forth from the ring to push back the darkness. You tug at your inner power and direct it towards Blackwood, watching as he starts moving forward, the ring clutched in his hand intensifying in its power, the heart at its front thumping louder, greater. The beam growing stronger and shoving the darkness back, trying to force it into the void from which it came.

But the Black King resists, and surges forward, intent on devouring the light that defies it so. Cutting through the beam like butter, gliding towards the three of you desperately fighting back.

The light flares, all of your wills coming together against the dark. The Black King surges forward. You push back. Spanko pushes back. Blackwood pushes back. You all strike. The darkness screams out, trying to erase you.

And with a sudden push of force, one last cry of determination and perseverance from all three of you, the light is the one that surges forward, pushing the Black King back once and for all, the entity strangely remaining silent as the light sends it spiralling back into the void it arose from.

"UNDE FACTUM EST UT REDITUS TENEBRIS TUAM!" Blackwood shouts as the Black King is finally forced into the rift. The rift shudders once, then twice, and finally snaps shut with a loud cry, knocking all three of you back, and tearing through several of the surrounding buildings.

It is over.

You manage to push yourself up from the ground, and look around the area. The buildings might be destroyed, but all the Guardians and dolls are gone, the void and that which came through it is also gone. You've won.

You smile a bit (which is decently painful) and try to dance a bit. It hurts a good bit, but you power through. This is a situation that calls for it.

At least, until you hear Spanko and Blackwood groaning on the ground. You should probably help them up.

You move over to your two dazed friends and help pull them up. Blackwood seems more dazed than Spanko is however, and you soon have to lean him up against a chunk of rubble left over from the battle, with the good Doctor himself trying to shake himself clear of any fuzziness left over.

You move over to both of them and share your candy with them, giving them both five pieces to snack on. As they chew, it almost seems like their dizziness fades away before your eyes, with them seeming in somewhat better condition overall.

"Good work, my boy." Blackwood coughs out. "I take it you might have some questions about all of this?"

"Blor-blorb? [What's with the ring?]" you ask the adventurerleaninng across the large slab of rock.

"Hmm? Oh yes, the ring. From what I could tell, it's most certainly of Fae make, and is infused with great amounts of power. Probably belonged to the lord of this domain before the Black King laid claim to it." Blackwood explains.

You visibly shudder at the mention of the Black King. Definitely not something you want to remember at all.

"Judging by some records I had managed to gather, the lord of this place intended the ring for usage against some rival power from a realm of shades or what have you. But it seems that whatever craft they lent themselves to in its construction opened a way for something else to enter. You saw those bores across the city, correct?"

"Hmm yes. I can see that you're somewhat distracted. Fair enough given what you've been through, my dear lad. "As such, I'll allow you to broach a subject for us to explore at your own leisure."

But yes. Bans are awful things.
>>
>>2924047
Do you have any idea of why you got banned? Did they give you a reason? Or did you just randomly get a site-wide 3 day ban with no explanation?

I'm not sure how bans on 4chan work desu, so forgive my ignorance.
>>
>>2926689
It was apparently because of "banned text" being present in my post. Apparently Moot created a system to stop spammers and CP-posters from infesting the site using loophole websites, but forgot to include any form of warning whatsoever for such a thing. Cue instant bans without any warning.

Anyway, going to be writing up the conclusion now. And then start thinking about a sidequest to run to make up for the lack of Quest 5 this week.

>Ask him about how he managed to steal it from the Black King.
"Blorb-gurgle? [How did you get it from the Black King?]" you gurgle out, still somewhat unnerved as you speak about that...thing.

"The Black King had only just begun to push itself into reality using this city as its anchor, my boy. I merely found the signs of it in the places that I searched throughout this rather 'malfunctioning' locale." Blackwood replies. "I had managed to procure the ring from what little remained of this land's original ruler, reduced to nothing more than a vessel for the Black Kings evil. Hardly even a fight that if I do say, harumpf. Merely took a single slice of my blade to do away with that wretched thing."

Blackwood then proceeds to toss the ring to you following his explanation, surprising you a fair bit.

"Keep it." he says. "After all, it *was* your goal to retrieve this artifact in the first place was it not, my lad?" the gentleman explorer chuckles.

....He knew the whole time. Oh.
>Arcadian Ring gained. The artifacts heart beats rhythmically in your grasp, pulsing with ancient power

"Now then!" Blackwood suddenly shouts, startling you and Spanko both. "I do believe we should return to that thaumaturgic engine and chart a location a little more friendly, do you not agree my dear chaps? I think a certain Shaded domain would be just right my dear boy?" Blackwood's eyes land on you, twinkling brightly. How long has he known?

"Indubitablinest Blackwood-sama Cack!" Spanko shouts, with you nodding along. Seems he's regained his earlier cheer just fine.

"Right-ho then! To glory for Queen, country and companionship!" And with those words, you're off once more, onto new adventures, and hopefully to new friends as well.

You may have almost been crushed by the darkness, but you endured alongside your friends, and beat back Evil. And that's what truly matters in the long run.

General idea right now is to have a 'sidequest'/intermission to show some other things that might are currently going on in the combined setting. Options are currently as such.

>179 & Her Brother- Sibling Quest: Basically SCP 179 and 1548 fucking about in metaphysical space, and dealing with some WoD critters. Archmages/Exarchs/Abyssals might also be there mucking about

>Robert Bumaro and The Church- Mekhanite Quest: Bumaro and his followers end up in the Fallen World and start to both explore and secure themselves against various supernatural forces in the area. Yaldabaoth probably keikakus

>Werewolf Pack- Misunderstanding Quest: A pack of Uratha end up biting off more than they can chew after coming into contact with forces utterly alien to them.

>O5 Council- Insanity Quest: You are the O5 Council, stranded in a very different reality and more than a bit out of it. But you still have job to do, a promise to all the souls counting on you. Secure.Contain.Protect.

Others can be suggested, but these are what I'm thinking about so far.

I would choose this one.

Either one of these would be good for me. Seeing things from WoD perspective would be interesting

Will this sidequest take place during the time period between thread 1 and 4 or while SCP 999 and the gang travel to the shaded palace
>>
>>2932974
The former time period. 999 wasn't the only one who got brought over here, as you can likely guess.
>>
>>2932986
Gotcha. Btw what do you think about making a discord?
Yay or nay?
>>
>>2933002
>Discord
Nein. I've seen enough from the WoD discord to realize how badly that will end.

It would also draw the absolute worst portions of that fandom (Dave and his cult) to it like moths to a flame.
