> The land has been peaceful for generations but the peace was never meant to last, and the time of strife has come again. Across the realm, every petty noble, rogue commander, and bandit scum with a dozen men to their banner are waging war against one another, and only time will tell who reigns supreme. You count yourself among them, by silver tongue or strength of arms, you've convinced a handful of men to fight for you, and you are determined to conquer the world, or see it burn in the fires of your ambition.

> It has been Three Generations since the apocalypse began, the riches and wonders of the old world have dwindled and what remains is decayed, but new societies have established themselves, and in time, they may rebuild some semblance of civilization. Millions of survivors have sworn their souls to profane idols, the aberrant spawn beyond reality have cemented their hold on the world, and if they aren't stopped, their masters shall be ushered in and reality itself torn asunder.

> Book Viewing: This mutant can read what is written in any book in existence, simply by looking in another book of a similar type. By looking in a notebook, this mutant can look through the pages of every notebook in existence. The same for hardcovers, softcovers, stapled books, scrap books, and other types of written works. The mutant cannot see the pages of books that have been destroyed, and the mutant must know what book it wishes to look at.
> Anaerobic: This mutant does not require oxygen and does not breathe air or water.

You are Malcador Grey, easily, hands-down, without a shadow of a doubt the greatest man to ever stride the earth, and by your silver tongue alone, you've convinced over fifty men of your divinity. For you've seen the truth, for generations the Unholy have feasted on the flesh of men, but in the depths of a dream, the prophecy was revealed to you. The only way mankind could be freed from captivity was to feast on the flesh of those who would see them in chains, and by doing so, take their power as their own!

Already, you've dined on the black blood of the twisted bony worms whose screech drives men to suicide, and while it was one of the worst meals you think you've ever had, it awakened something in you. Supernatural power, in your enlightenment, you need not breathe, and by merely opening a text, the secrets of all manuscripts of the same kind are revealed to you. Your followers may have had their doubts, but when they recognized your wisdom, they were swept away in a tide of gluttonous fervor.

They understand that the ancient kingly system which the white man once lived under is the only way to ensure lasting prosperity, and that you, and you alone, are the only man worthy of sitting upon the throne of the kingdom which shall stretch across the horizon, shining so bright that the Unholy shall recoil at its light! While their faith is without question, you've managed to rally another fifty-odd peasants to your banner with the promise of food and the devotion of the newcomers is in doubt, but no matter, they shall accept your place as king and bend the knee, or they shall die!

Your motley rabble has almost nothing in the way of arms and armor, and they have the rations for merely seven more days. It is clear to you that if you don't obtain provender immediately, the faithless will flee and the pious will perish, as no man can march on faith alone. In the midst of the Himalayas, you must find a way to feed over a hundred men in one week's time, a fitting test for one of your strategic skill.

Your followers are soon to starve and that cannot be tolerated. If they are to fight, they must find food, and the best place to find food is in one of the goat-herding villages that peppers the mountainside. Overeager to ensure they don't starve, your men travel through the mountain paths at blinding speed until two days come to pass, and by sheer chance they stumble upon a humble Kēbina village of perhaps forty souls.

An astute eye indicates they have a thriving herd of goats and a great many gardens, almost double what is necessary to feed a community of this size. Truly, they are prosperous, and as much as it pains you, you're going to rob them of their goats, or your men are going to starve. But, maybe you don't have to kill them, perhaps they could be led to see reason, and you'll only have to take what you need to stave off your hunger.

These humble goat-herders wallow in ignorance, supping on goat's meat, chained to their humanity. They are miserable, slaves to their nature, and they do not know it. You must reveal your majesty to them, and show them the myriad delights dining upon the fattened flesh of the Unholy can bring! Then they shall worship you, and give you everything you ask!

> Forty-odd minutes later

It turns out, these people have been isolated for decades and have never seen a white person, let alone one leading a throng of cultists and ranting and raving about how they need to leave their humanity behind, consume unspeakable abominations to mutate, accept him as their unconditional king, and give him at least half of their goats in taxes.

An angry mob determined to defend their homes have gathered to slay you, but it's not a large village, they're no better armed than you are, and you have a distinct numerical advantage.

Slay them with no mercy! They shall pay for opposing the will of the voracious King. Also, are we the only person with mutations?
>>
>>2948950
We don't have any trained men so simple tactics are probably all that we can do
Sandwich them between our fanatics and fodder, or if they have enough restraint get the fodder to charge them from the front and the fanatics from a flank or rear
I would prefer if we didn't use the bullets and saved them for later

Focus on taking all their goats. If they're a disorganized mob, we can force our troops to form up and get like three people to beat each of them as they come to stop us taking their goats. We should avoid wasting our precious followers in this fight.

We can come back later and take the village when they are weak, poor, and more amenable to seeing things our way. They can be our goatherds, freeing our troops to fight.
>>
>>2948974
Let's try this. Are the odds better than fighting in formation?

You're around the level of a militiaman, relatively shit-tier in the grand scheme of things, but good enough to reliably defeat untrained rabble in hand-to-hand combat assuming you aren't surrounded.

You scream "PINCH" in Russian, and your men begin to execute the pincer formation as you'd practiced. The Fodder fall in line and force the villagers back, moving as one, but the Fanatic's lust for blood outweighs their discipline, they break ranks to charge the peasants head-on in a berserk frothing frenzy.

Despite their lack of order the unrelenting horde's maddened ferocity matches the defenders, and while a dozen of your men fall to their blades, a dozen more of theirs are rendered gory corpses. In the face of these wild-eyed screeching zealots who have no more respect for their own lives than they do their foes, the village mob breaks and they scatter. Unfortunately for them, your men are eager to pursue. Soon, all those who dared to fight are dead, and your cultists have dispatched their wounded.

> Result: Middling Victory

> Your Army:

Nine of your Fanatics are dead or maimed and mercy-killed, but the rest of the fallen sustained minor wounds and should be in fighting condition within a week's time. You've suffered losses, but they're nothing that can't be replaced in due time, and you still have the rest of the village to see to.

> How should you handle them?

> Take as much food as you can carry and leave the elderly, women, and children to starve.
> Take everything of value, slaughter the elderly, rape the women, and force the children to carry plunder.
> Take as much food as you can carry, and force them to march, when your men run out of food, you'll butcher them for rations.

I disagree the men need to be rewarded for fighting slaves and loot forefill this and incentivise loyalty towards us, being benevolent strips the men of half their reward and dosen't really incentavise fanatical loyalty also having infighting within the ranks at least on a minor level inspired some tenacity and brutality among our soldier and of ot gets so bad to be a problem we can just go full sparta and commit purges of our slave to keep them keeled also its fucking boring constantly doing the benevolent thing which is the go too on /qst/ for conquest.

> Give your men free reign to loot, rape, and pillage, while you search for a book

> Torture the elders until one breaks and tells you where you can find another village

Correct?

You gather the handful of prisoners and give them an ultimatum, to swear fealty to you or die an honorless death. Every one of them refuses, they spit at your feet and mutter curses. You give the word to the zealots, and minutes later each of them is beheaded. It's a shame, they could've been changed by the meat of the Unholy if only they would see.

At your command, the elders, women, and children are gathered into the center of the village. Then, you instruct your men to begin pillaging their foodstuffs and any valuables they can find. As eager as they are to begin celebrating their victory in earnest, your men comply and comb through their Kēbina with surprising swiftness. Less than half an hour later, a heap of smoked meats and dried vegetables is piled high in the center, and while it's not enough to last your army more than a month, if it was conserved it could've kept these villagers fed until the harvest.

> 36 Day's Rations gained

It seems these peasants were wealthier than their visible prosperity indicated, all manner of synthetic fabrics, treated goat furs, heirloom jewelry, and high-quality tools are stacked taller than the typical Nepali.

> 26 Loot gained

Being the king, it's up to you to decide how to distribute the plunder. If you took it all for yourself, the Fanatics wouldn't have any complaints, but the Fodder might grow disloyal, and besides, they fought well and you figure they deserve a proper reward. Most of the women are old and married, or average in looks, but there's one or two that catch your eye, and while you'll have first pickings during the plunder, you're sure none of your men would begrudge you taking one as your personal servant.

None of these homely goat-herder's widows interest you, no, what you crave is their silken fabrics, goat's hides, and tarnished jewelry. It is not fit that the KING should be clad in tattered rags, if you are to RULE over these peasant simpletons, you must look the part. You take your time sifting through their treasures, at least fifteen minutes, and you select only the finest of their shoddy wares.

Once you've stripped from your rags, given these lowly wretches the honor of gazing on your naked flesh, and clad yourself in antiquated nylon silks, goat's hides, and scuffed rings, you give your men free reign to pillage as they will. And they do, vigorously and furiously all throughout the night. While your men strove to satisfy their baser urges, you took the principle of Noblesse Oblige to heart and questioned an old man.

Your knife may be sullied with commoner's blood, and an unsightly corpse may adorn the village center, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made, and it took quite some time, you're now aware of potential targets for your merry band of madmen. There are three villages within two week's travel, and each has some relatively fascinating rumors.

> The first village, eight day's away is thriving, and home to almost thirty peasants, an overabundance of milky goats and chickens bought from the lowlands, and if the rumors are true, the comeliest chief's daughter in a hundred kilometers.
> The second village, eleven day's away is humble and impoverished, home to scarcely thirty peasants, it is said that a foul spirit has claimed an ancient shrine and inflicts hideous nightmares on the people, supposedly. its skin cannot be pierced and its withering touch brings the strongest men to their knees.
> The third village, twelve day's away is of above-average wealth with close to sixty peasants, allegedly, their village elder has a cache of deadly weapons preserved from before the Doom-Times and has managed to train a small, but fierce militia.

You find the rumors of the shrine's foul spirit intriguing, so without further ado you give the word to begin marching. For four days you travel at the forefront of the horde without issue, then one morning, at the crack of dawn you hear a crackling pulse and screaming slaves, and when you see the source, it's all you can do not to shout in horror and flee down the side of the mountain.

Two abominations, most unspeakable climbed the mountain to assail your column. To the ignorant eye, they resemble legless rhinoceroses with bright yellow hide splashed with neon pink swirls, twisted into the shape of slender vipers, both with a dozen rigid tentacles in place of their appendages and horns like a gladiator beetle's. Their senses are poor and as substitute, their tentacles grip and shatter everything in reach, and they throw arcs of lightning to fry the blurs beyond their grasp.

Four captive villagers were electrocuted, torn apart, and devoured in moments. Many more would've died but the gore distracted them long enough for you to a fire a shot that miraculously pierced the larger one's eye and bore a hole in its brain, killing it instantly. Following your cue, those of your men with firearms targeted the smaller one's skull, and as it panicked, a raving lunatic sprung forth, leaped onto its side, and sunk his spear through its eye. His thrust killed it instantly, and the dying monster's lightning spasm turned the suicidally brave fanatic into a char-black skeleton. The skirmish was over as soon as it began, and already, you begin to salivate at the thought of sinking your teeth into their succulent meats!

Your fanatic's faith can't get much stronger, but the fodder look at you with new respect, and the captives are terrified of your rifle. Of course, it was all blind luck but you could've killed it easily either way, so you don't see the need to ruin the impression you've made. Your followers dismember the Unholy bodies in short order, and harvest enough to feed 7 Troop Points at least once. As the King of the Eldritch Feast, you get the first pickings of the meat, but if you take too much your men may grow bitter, and if your body's overloaded with malign energy, who knows what could happen?

The mutant is also more sensitive to pheromones and toxic gases, but not to what would be considered “bad” smells.

> Increased Metabolism- This mutant requires more nourishment than others of its species, but this increase in appetite will never cause it to gain any significant amount of weight.

> Drone Producer- This mutant produces sterile drone off spring, either sexually or asexually. These drones are much smaller than the mutant and not very creative, independent, or intelligent, and are only capable of performing one or two general tasks.

What do the drones look like, how does each specialty look different from the rest, and how do you produce them? Sex, budding, egg-laying, or what? If you'd rather leave their appearance to chance, we can roll.

Let's recap:

> You produce drones by vomiting large eggs that molt and hatch in a matter of hours, or days depending on the specialty, food drones take a few hours, child-rearing drones roughly half a day, and unskilled labor drones a full day and a half. There is no hard limit on the amount of eggs you can produce aside from the nutrients necessary.
> When they hatch, the drones look like chitinous worms and depending on the specialty, their growth will differ, food drones won't change and continue grow in size until they're equivalent to a small cow, child-rearing drones will grow a pair of spindly legs and arms after a day or two and reach 0.9144 meters, or 3'4 feet, and unskilled labor drones will progress as child-rearing drones, but continue to grow until they reach 1.524 meters, or 5'6 feet, and their limbs are brawny.
> None of the drones have eyes, they communicate among themselves and navigate by clicking noises, and their loyalty to you is ABSOLUTE, though they'll follow other's commands if you instruct them to. In regards to intelligence, food drones are more or less cattle-tier, unskilled labor drones are borderline retarded but hard-working, and child-rearing drones are barely smarter than the average six year old.

Are you content with this, or do you want to make some changes?
>>
>>2952295
What is a child-rearing drone?
>>
>>2952305
Helps take care of children and probably mothers give birth.

>>2952295
Yeah that sounds excellent we can use general labour ones to
>>
>>2952312
Fuck didnt finish

To buff out our troops and take hits for them . Or just care for the goats
>>
>>2952305

Drones that specialize in child-rearing, they're great at helping women deliver births, watching infants and keeping children preoccupied, but mediocre at best when it comes to everything else. Of course, getting someone to trust a worm-spawn with their children is a can of worms all on its own.
>>
>>2952316
Just think about how well adjusted our children will be to the horrible hell spawn of today. They will be perfect cultists.
>>
>>2952312
>>2952314

You can use the unskilled labor drones for combat, and they're stronger and more enduring than a normal human, but they're too clumsy to hit reliably, too stupid for most tactics, and their two-fingered hands can't operate anything more advanced than a club. They'd make a decent supplement for your fodder, though spawning enough would take a lot of effort on your part.

>>2952322

I suppose that would influence their psychology.
>>
>>2952179

produce drones by inserting and leaving a parasitical ejection within an orfice of a victim. it grows and bursts from the host when ready. Does it looks like us?

>>2952434

>>
>>2952434

>>
>>2952434
what if we feed meat to the drones?
>>
>>2952469
That is an interesting question to bring up and now I want to know too.
>>
>>2952434
Exactly
>>
>>2952431

The eggs are fist-sized, which might be a problem if you weren't 2.743 meters, or 9'4 feet tall and didn't weigh 226.796 kilograms, or a quarter of a ton. Spawning eggs this size is difficult and takes significant nutrients, to give you a frame of reference an entire goat, eaten whole is worth five unskilled laborer eggs.

Your metabolism is already on overdrive, and now that you're one and a half times your previous size your nutritional needs are obscene. While this means you heal quickly and handle toxins much easier, your body requires ten times an ordinary man's rations to keep going, and that much food is hard to come by in the post-apocalyptic Himalayas. Fortunately, on-top of being a nifty slow-acting attack, your Heat Drain ability allows you to feed on other's body heat, by converting it to calories and absorbing it straight into your body.

You do the math.

>>2952469
>>2952475

Intriguing... There's only one way to find out, so you set aside 1 unit of meat for later.

I want to call bullshit on the Sexual Prowess, but it's synced together so perfectly I won't dare. They have Thin Skin, so that's a -1 to melee combat, which isn't a big deal given their +4 from fanaticism and insane lust. The Psychic Broadcast means whenever they stop moving, or stay in the same spot for several minutes, their exact location is broadcast to everything with a mind within 91 meters or 100 yards.

Ridiculous. Time for the Fodder.

As king, it is only fitting that you are first to eat and receive the choicest cut of the meat. You carve the largest monster's heart from its chest, and testing its weight, find it to be roughly five pounds. Ever humble, you're the humblest there ever was, easily the best as being humble, you claim the bloodiest two pound chunk, toss the rest to the horde to eat, and sink your teeth deep inside it.

Your followers stare, and you shudder in glorious torment as a fundamental change takes place! Bones elongate and snap into place and sinews stretch and swell in such an agonizing experience you feel that if you didn't need to breathe you'd choke. You languish for what feels like an eternity your stomach's speed of digestion accelerates, your mind expands to devour heat to compensate, and a bulbous organ emerges where your kidney used to be.

Finally, the pain subsides, and as you bring yourself to stand your followers stare in awe. You've grown in size and stature, your muscles are beyond compare, and compared to lesser men, your bones are made of steel. An intense pulse in your now-tight furs confirms your height wasn't the only thing to grow, and taking in a deep breath, a hundred odors such as you've never smelt before flood your nose.

On instinct, your smoldering stare focuses on a nearby slave, and as reduce their body heat to almost nothing, you feel like a god. Already, the organ inside you begins to work, and you feel much, much hungrier than before. Tempting as it is to lay into the monstrous meat once again, you won't risk biting off more than you can chew, and it's only fair that your followers get their fair share. You raise your hand, and with a thunderous shout, bellow, "DIG IN!"

The tide of Fanatics is mind-boggling, and as you step to the side to watch their feast, a peculiar change takes place. Once they've eaten their fill, they begin to twitch, mutter, and scowl, before swarming the poor, poor women you captured from the village. The sight is so indecent, so debauched, so absolutely depraved that you must force yourself to look away, but judging by the impassioned, ecstatic moans coming from their victims, it seems it wasn't rape past the first minute.

Still, at this rate the captives will be worn-out in days, and you'll need to find more if you want to avoid mass-desertions. You notice that their skin is paper-thin and rips far more easily but they're so consumed by the urge to breed they don't realize it themselves, and after five minutes of their screaming rave, your subconscious gains the power to pinpoint their exact location. The thin skin is highly unfortunate but hardly catastrophic, and while the seemingly psychic location-finding could prove a worrisome nuisance, it could turn out handy once they've gotten used to it.

> [1/2]
>>
>>2953188

After seeing you damn-near double in size, any doubt the Fodder had about the truth of the mutations is gone, and roughly twenty go to eat the few remaining leftovers. Their changes are subtle enough at first you couldn't tell what happened to them, but seeing the way their hair defies gravity to snap at the air, their intense sniffing and staring at everything, and the devoted look in the non-changed eye's when they're touched gives you a fair idea.

One of the newly mutated Fodder touches you by the wrist, and while for the slightest of moments you feel some begrudging appreciation for them, it is instantly buried crushed, and forgotten under the weight of your self-assured supremacy. You'd kill him for attempting to influence you, but the rumors will improve your standing, and you have nothing to prove to any peasant so you let him off with a slap more akin to a club than anything else.

That dinner was absolutely phenomenal, but there's only so much meat to go around and soon, it's all gone, save for some offal you intend to give your... whatever strange creature it is your mysterious new organ's producing. You have yet to reach your destination, and a mere four days lie between you, and the direst foe your horde has yet to face.

At your command, the motley horde marches with surprising swiftness, though at times you're convinced if they weren't fanatically loyal to you, you wouldn't be able to stop the cultists from taking constant gang-bang breaks. Truthfully, after witnessing them attempt nonstop sex, day and night, for hours on end, you're shocked they're able to keep marching. Irritated by their incessant shenanigans, you tell them you had a vision of sex at the end of the journey, and are pleasantly surprised to see the horde's pace double.

Two days later, you've reached the village, and frankly, aren't that impressed. For the most part, it's comprised of patchwork Kēbina, and in the center of the community stands an ancient and decrepit Hindu shrine. Looking at it, chills run down your spine. There are little under thirty people here, all of them shuffling their feet, faces laden with dread, and cringing away from the shrine. They have yet to see you or your men, so you can attempt to introduce yourselves as you see fit.

This village is in dire straights and if you approached them head-on they might retaliate. Under ideal circumstances, you'd be able to infiltrate the community yourself, but you're a giant white man, and that's simply not an option. You have no other choice, so the Fodder will have to do. You send the two most charismatic men in your horde to pose as travelers, learn what they can about their defenses and the shrine, and report back while the rest of the horde waits camped in a secluded place.

> Two days later...

You've had no sign of the infiltrators you sent, you're beginning to worry, and the Fanatics are starting to get antsy. If you had to guess, you'd say one of them must've gotten too handsy with their charm power or accidentally let their hair flash, and now they're being held captive. Maybe as a sacrifice.

So unironically pic related now is how we can win over women into worshipping us considering how verile our Zealots are becoming, I say after all the rape and pillage is done we give a large share of the captive women to the zealots their touch after the trauma of their capture is likely to bring them closer to appreciating our benevolence.

secondly while intially our spawn ability seemed like a good way to produce endless mooks the energy it requires seems inordinate and thus I say we keep them as specialised roles such as food supply (our flesh will feed the faithful and show our benevolance) and child rearing because sooner or later babies are gonna start popping.
>>
>>2954046
also considering our zealots are more squishy they should be more of a support role in combat now and only deployed if they are REALLY needed
>>
>>2953664
can we pass on mutations to our spawn instead of taking them for ourselves?

This is just a question for you guys about our ideology, but what should the differences/distinction be between those in our monarchy/rule and our followers? Is it like a cult of personality?

Enough side-stepping, whether these peasants know it or not, you are their king and they will bend the knee or you will cut them down. At your behest the horde gathers and marches into the village with you at their head. Hearing the commotion, some dozen men come to meet you with gnarled clubs and rusty blades, but the sight of half a hundred raving wild-eyed fanatics led by a giant pale man, brandishing weapons, and shouting the litany of Unholy gluttony, they drop their implements of war and submit without a fight.

You stand, facing the shrine, half-expecting some demon to rush out and try to slay you but it remains quiet. As your men fall into a crude semblance of disciplined lines, an old man steps forward and bows before your majesty. You let him linger on the ground for several minutes, then say in as authoritative a voice as you can muster, "SPEAK." He replies, trembling, and shakily stands to his feet.

"Giant, I am eldest in our village. W-what are your demands?"

We could try to smash it to the ground (if some of our soldiers have maces/hammers it could be possible, we could even just us stones) or try to take all is heat.
After we have killed we should order the womans to make mantels from the skin of the demon, for the meat we could eat some of it [just for avoid to eat half of the supplies] and then eat the remains along the way.
If this demon has bones they could be used for something else.
(if there is a smith here we should use it to make some armors&weapons, also what we do with this village ? Take it or sack&raze ? I would prefer to take it, but it would be better to establish a base/capital in some great cave/mine. Then again even if it s our first conquest it doesn t mean this village is our base/capital, plus it would be the first settlement under us creating our state. On the other hand sacking and raze it give us more resources&manpower for when we establish the base/capital. After the battle we should check it and decide if is valuable enough [fertile terrain ? strategic position ? valuable resources ? ecc. ..] for mantain a garrison. Even if we sack&raze it and there is something useful here, we can just return later and establish a better settlement.
Also we need a map of this region if we don t find one, we should make one.
And a banner for our army, or 2 banners if we decide to take&hold this place. We need a good symbol something like a white hand [similar to the Saruman Hand on the uruks of Lord of the rings] crushing a black sun with one eye and tentacles could do.)

we uproot the villagers, they join our horde and travel alongside us, they are no longer free but the property of the white pregnant giant. I agree. Another couple turns of raiding would be smart but then we should settle down in our mountains. Gradually expand to encompass all of the Himalayas with our base preferably out of a fortress-monastary. Go down in the lowlands and become the eldritch raiders of legend later once we have a base of supporters producing recruits, weapons, and food.

"What is the demon that plagues your village? How far does the effect of the demon extend, and what are its power?"

The elder cringes at your question and peers at the shrine over his shoulder. "I-I cannot tell you-" You unsling your rifle, and deeply intone, "I insist." His eyes are filled with terror, and he looks like he's about to sprint away, screaming at the top of his lungs, but his fear of you outweighs his dread of the foul spirit. The old man says,

"It is a horror, a nightmare made flesh that stands taller than any man. Its razor-blade claws are not of this world, they pass through the thickest of hides as if they were not there and the wounds it inflicts suffer a chilling curse that spreads through the bones and then the soul of the scarred. Its hide is smooth and supple, but thicker than iron and its merest touch dulls even the keenest edged steel."

He pauses to give you a moment to take it in, then continues. "It is darker than the darkest night, you can't see it, only the shadows where it should be. It whispers atrocities in a thousand tongues that bend the mind to see shapes that aren't there, and when we sleep, it shows us glimpses of a blackened hell beyond description. It is driving us mad, one of my sons killed himself and his children screaming that the Eater of Flames compelled him, and since then, our kiln fires take hours to kindle. I'm in mourning, and I'm not only one whose son was driven to madness. Every night, the foul spirit leaves its shrine, captures someone, young or old, man or woman, it does not care, and drags them kicking and screaming back to the shrine to eat their souls. Half the village has died the most horrible deaths, and we aren't able to stop it."

"But when we try to flee, it leaves its shrine and pursues the escapee with the wings of a hawk, and no man is quick or clever enough escape it. The foul spirit's curse lays over our homes like a smothering blanket, so long as we live here, there can be no escape but in the trees beyond, they say the whispers stop. It is an abomination that cannot be killed, perhaps if one with your strength could land a blow, it would fall but its claws are much too swift. The foul spirit keeps the shrine pitch-black and it never leaves in the daytime, but once you've stayed here overnight and it knows your scent, it will find you, no matter how fast you go. It hates fire, and snuffs them out in the dirt and takes the one who lit it as its next victim when the night-falls."

> [1/2]
>>
>>2956662

A sudden sense of dread sinks to the pit of your stomach. "Elder, where are the men I sent to make contact with you?" The old man's eyes are filled with tears, he breaks down, and death-grips you by one of the ankles, his entire body heaving. "We- we bound and gagged them, then forced the fattest one to light a torch in front of the shrine. The monster took him instead of our family, and before you came, we'd planned to do the same to the next. Please, giant, I'm begging you, leave this place now, while you still can! I don't care how strong you are, you can't face the demon, it will kill you and every one of your band one by one, then drag your souls kicking and screaming into a nightmare that never ends! Go, before the sun sets, we're lost to the darkness but there's still hope for you!"

That was... enlightening.

Hmmm I think our plan should be to feed the village elder to it in the same way they fed our follower, then ambush the beast while it is feeding. Our troops should distract and slow it while we drain its heat until it is dead.

Thoughts?
>>
>>2956675
It's a good plan.
As he is a betrayer of guests. So too shall he suffer the same fate.
>>
>>2956675
Or even better, let's feed his entire family to the beast before he dies so he'll know the price of betrayal.
>>
>>2956675
Just feeding him works for me. Make sure to have the rest of our soldiers stand by with torches ready to be lit as soon as the attack begins. Prepare a couple of bonfires around the shrine with the same intent. Hopefully fire and steel will beat this beast back.
>>
>>2956675
i like it... but we could be able to not even force him to do this.

for example what about remind him of what is doing, he an elder of this village leaving is people to die and worse even it s own son !

why he should live to suffer this, why this creature should keep doingthis.
it could be easy for us, this old man is
destroyed by all of this.... we are giving him a chance to end this.
>>
>>2956675
We might be able to heat drain the thing while it's still inside the shrine.
Might be worth a shot just to weaken it before our attack.
>>
>>2956707
It's easy to be merciful. But they decided to sacrifice two of our own instead of having them run away before nightfall. If we went alone then they would have done the same to us.

If the beast is smaller than us, we should attempt to grapple with it, killing it through our heat drawing ability.
We should also work on creating a holy weapon for ourselves after this battle.
I vote for a huge mace
>>
>>2957318
I thought it drained strength with its touch?
>>
>>2957366
It dulls blades but makes no mention of it's touch reducing strength. However it apparently induces a curse with it's claws which should clearly be used for creating our weapon / weapons for some fanatics to make an elite melee unit.

This but during the day. We are getting pretty obvious hints this thing hates fire and/or light. We can just send the elder into the shrine, then have everyone light a church and set the shrine on fire at the same time.
>cleansing flame for the win
>>
>>2956675
This but feed his entire family to it, we sent men to deal without threat or violence and they killed them this is an insult to US and should be punished accordingly.
>>
>>2957629
Bonfire, drain heat from fire and it?
>>
We should fight the thing in day time, just build a huge bonfire around the shrine and have the elder set fire to it immediately and say that we will kill the entire village that the monster feeds off if it does not show itself. If it does not show itself we pillage the place, and just leave before night time. Fighting at night were the enemy has an advantage is just daft.
>>
>>2957733
I don’t think we should drain it’s heat at all. It seems like it hates heat, and I’d be worried that it can survive the cold. So we attack from a different angle.
I’m also not sure if we can drain heat from non living things.
>>
>>2958260
Good point...

Man im sort of terrified how much can lose to this beast
>>
>>2958260
If we drain heat from our soldiers in a precise way then maybe we could stand in a huge bonfire and fight the thing while draining away heat to stop us from burning to death and forcing the monster to get burned.

so i have put the crown* and the everest*, then i have decide to add a "malcador grey" for give it a byzantine feel (in some of their banners there are some words).

it s ok now, maybe i can add a book ? Or is already too full of stuff ?

*it s not exactly a crown in the traditional sense, but the others seems just to complex. Instead this one is simple and people can recognize without problems that is a object of imperial power.

*maybe i should have put smaller mountains, but idk.
so the quest can keep going today ?

Maybe i could make something similar to the nepal flag, just with the one eye monster with tentacles in the first triangle and a book in the second triangle.

I don t think the hand and the monster can stay in the flag at the same time.

This old man broke the golden rule, and made a grave mistake telling you to your face. Your voice oozes contemptuous disgust at his cowardice, and he weeps at your dark words.

"Elder, you've doomed your guest to never-ending torment and there can only be justice if you're condemned to suffer the same fate." He squeezes your boot and pleads, "No, no, p-please, anything but that!" You scowl at this profligate, craven wretch as if he were shit on your boot, and call your men. "Restrain him."

Five wild-eyed fanatics tear him from your feet as he screeches, "NO NO NO NO!" and when he realizes there's no way out, he draws a knife and rushes to cut his own throat. One of the fanatics catches his arm an instant before the point pierces flesh and suffers a nasty cut. The old man is wailing about the flickering spirals that pierce the womb of the earth, how they twist his bones and gouge his teeth each time he lays his head to rest, but you have no pity.

You let him gibber for a moment, then smack him across the face hard enough to knock teeth loose. "Coward, when the sun sets you're going to a light a bonfire and pay recompense for what you've done. If you so much as touch a knife or glance at the mountainside, we'll flay the flesh from your closest of kin's bones and force them in your stead." He's past hysteria and weeping with terror.

"Tie him to a tree facing westward, I want him to see the sun the moment it dips below the horizon. And as for the rest of you, we have a bonfire to build. The quicker we roast the demon, the quicker we feast! Get to it!" The elder's captors bind him to a spindly tree far from the edge of a cliff, and the rest of your band and a handful of village volunteers hurry to finish while there's still daylight.

>>
>>2958606

Little over three hours later, the frame for a magnificent bonfire is built, doused in as much lamp oil and goat's fat as the village can muster, and ready to burst into the flames instant the elder readies his torch. Sunset is two hours away and the only thing left to determine is how you plan to engage the fiend.

> Once it's set ablaze and distracted in its rage your men will swarm it with clubs and stones.
> Once it's set ablaze and illuminated by the torch light your keenest-eyed men will snipe it from afar.
> Once it's set ablaze and weakened by the flames, YOU will slay it, you're perfect in every way, there's not a chance it could best you.

> 52 VS 54

This foul spirit is weak, you are the uberman, and you will break it over your knee! You use the time before the sun sets to carve a crude club little over twice as large as an ordinary one, the weapon is poorly balanced but it has a nice heft to it, and if all goes well, it should prove sufficient. The keenest-eyed of your men prepare their rifles, and the remainder stand ready to support you if the demon gains the upper hand.

Soon, darkness falls and you feel a sudden, palpable sense of dread and regret. Nevermind, you've made your choice and have no recourse but to fight. You lie in wait several meters from the entrance of the shrine and the old man stands, wrists bound, trembling as he lights the torch. An obscene shadow, moving so quickly the only sight you have is a blur of blackness so profound that it SHOULD NOT BE bolts to tear the elder's head his shoulders, and in the instant before it snuffs out the torch you catch a glimpse of its true form.

Despite the sacrifice's failure to light the bonfire, a staccato of rifle fire rings out and the abominable fiend recoils as it is stricken. All but one bullet finds its mark and three slam into its head, though they do not pierce, their force does a great deal of damage to the dreaded spirit and it is disoriented for the slightest of moments. Taking this as your opportunity, you rush forth, howling with thunderous rage and swing your primitive bludgeon to see its skull smote!

Your makeshift club connects and such is your giant's strength, the Unholy one is flung to its twisting knees with a cry of shocked agony! However, your triumph is short-lived as the foul spirit recites an abysmal whisper and you hesitate on the cusp of a finishing blow as needles gouge into your ears! It is quicker to recover from the stunning strike than any man, it leaps to its feet and an instant later, a dozen cold knives bring your stomach to bleed!

The fiendish needling intensifies, the light from the stars above begins to dim, and an icy numbness fiercer than any frostbite undoes any semblance of warmth. If you were not a colossus you would've died instantly, and if your will to power was not supreme the atrocity slur's dark majesty would've brought you to kneel. The demon rises to its full height and mockingly waits for you to succumb to its droning, buzzing screech.

Little does it know, you do not intend to go quietly into that dark night.

> 63+78 VS 35

You stand resolute, legs trembling, flesh chilling, pride unflinching as the shadow fiend's malign mumbling pierces your mind. You feel its wretched tendrils tear into your subconscious tear your soul apart, but digging deep within, you scream in silent defiance and in a battle of wills the wretched darkness is repulsed. Bruised but not broken, you fall to your knees, and when it realizes its failure, its hate is beyond comprehension, it radiates malice, and as it raises its claws to rend your throat, a half dozen gunshots and a furious shout ring out.

"FOR THE KING!"

A dozen fanatics shove you to the side and are torn apart in your place, moments later, nigh-on a hundred howling madmen fall upon the dreaded darkness. The nightmare made flesh screeches its fury, and its every motion tears a mortal man apart and damns his soul, but for every one to fall, three more frothing with vengeful rage enter the fray. While a handful of villagers drag you to safety, the Unholy one fights beyond any mortal strength, slaying tens, and twenties of men, but bit by bit, its black bones are broken beneath their clubs. Slowly but surely, it succumbs to pain and as it mirrors your kneeling motion, a raging fanatic shatters a fifty pound rock on its neck, only to be slain by a spin of its spiked wings.

Its revenge is short-lived, as the martyr's blow paralyzed the fiend, and left to be, it no doubt would've recovered but your man grant it no such respite. Its hide may be immune to the blade, but it does not avail the demon as they continue to club, bludgeon, and stone the spasming fiend well into the night, Slowly, its torturous whispers give way to tortured wailing, and eventually, cease in their entirety. When the fiend's skull is crushed to a fine paste, a burst of impossible cold freezes the one who dealt it the finishing blow, but the sense of foreboding fear over the community disappears, and as your eyes come to a close, you realize the shadow fiend has been slain.

When you awaken, you're bundled head-to-toe in thick furs, laying beside a roaring bonfire, and cold enough that your teeth can't stop chattering. You realize that aside from the bandages wrapping your torso, you're completely naked, and as you struggle to throw off the furs and stand, five pairs of hands hold you down, and an ecstatic voice can be heard, "THE KING IS AWAKE, THE KING IS AWAKE!"

> [1/2]
>>
>>2962538

You groan, and look around to see you're inside a large wooden room, surrounded by followers grinning ear-to-ear, and on the far end of the room lies the dread spirit's corpse, so pulverized it appears to be a dark blanket at first glance. They explain that roughly half of the horde died horribly fighting the monster, it's been four days since the battle, after witnessing your struggle everyone in the village swore eternal fealty to you, and that the abomination hasn't decayed in the slightest and is ready to consumption at your discretion.

Even though you've won, something about your flesh feels sinister, and fundamentally wrong. The urge to burn your skin to ashes is overwhelming, and isn't solely from the cold that still chills you to the bone. No, after failing to slay the monster single-handedly you've realized that your mortal flesh isn't worthy to hold your immortal soul, and you hate it enough that the only thing preventing your suicide to escape your skin is that without it, you couldn't command your followers or satisfy your eldritch hunger.

Speaking of which...

> You have 3 units of eldritch meat, each of one of which can feed 1 Troop Point. Now that every one of your followers is Fanatical, they wouldn't care if you ate it all but you feel that overloading yourself with corrupting energies would be unwise, and after their part in assisting your victory, you feel they are worthy of a reward. But of course, as King of the Eldritch Feast you get first pickings.

So 3 units is 3 pounds right? Let's est 1 ourselves and give 1 to each unit they deserve it.

What resources does the village have, wondering if it's worth keeping or should we just take the people and resources and go. As well are there any books for us to absorbe the knowledge of?
>>
>>2962584

No, each unit is little over sixty pounds. The village has a smaller than average herd of goats, the ancient ruins of the stone shrine, and [rolls 1d20 for loot= !20!] a decently sized library in the former elder's home. Most of the books relate to Nepalese history and the Hindu religion, but there are a handful of textbooks detailing various recipes and elementary and advanced mathematics.

And I vote for eating 1 unit of flesh. Rest is to be given to the followers, we can use our followers to do things for us, we don't need to be able to do everything ourselves.

> Extra Joints- This mutant has one or more extra joints in its limbs.
> Rolled 2, 2
> The mutant has two extra joints in both its arms and legs

> Adhesive Touch- This mutant has microscopic suckers and hooks on its hands and feet, and perhaps other areas of its body, which allow it to stick to walls and walk or crawl on ceilings.

> Decreased Metabolism- Th is mutant’s reactions are slightly slower than normal. It may also suffer from a weakened immune system, an increased susceptibility to cold, brittle hair and nails, constipation, dry skin, irregular menstruation, poor memory, and unexplained weight gain.
> This cancels out Increased Metabolism, leaving the mutant with a Regular Metabolism

> Decreased Empathy- This mutant’s ability to empathize with other creatures is stunted or non-existent, although it can still be sympathetic to, or ideologically allied with them.

> Stunning Blast- This mutant may emit a psychic blast that stuns all sentient creatures within range.
> Rolled 4
> Range: Touch

> Mental Suggestion- This mutant is able to implant commands into the minds of others with whom it communicates. These suggestions may be direct and immediate commands, or they may be subtle and triggered later by specific circumstances, which are harder to resist. The less aware a victim is, and the weaker their will, the more effective these mental suggestions will be.

> Immune to Energy- This mutant is unharmed by electricity, lasers, radiation, and other dangerous energy rays.

> Create Gas- This mutant can create some kind of gaseous substance to form within its presence.
> Rolled 6
> Type: Smoke
> Rolled 10

> Mutant Detection: This mutant can detect the presence of other mutants within range, and can tell if anyone within range is a mutant or not.

Quite impressive, and now, for the even distribution of the eldritch meat. Because you've evenly distributed 3 units of eldritch meat among 5 troop points, each unit has a 1-in-2 chance of mutating, and those that do mutate will receive less mutations.

Your mortal flesh is unworthy, you must ascend! One, even two pounds are insufficient, no, you demand three, and soon you dine on the flesh of the eldritch! You're so cold, it tastes like ice and you can barely bring it to your lips, but your hunger is so profound you simply do not care. Minutes, it has disappeared down your voracious maw, and soon, you can feel the mutative energies twisting your bones anew!

With an agonizing pop, crunch, and snap your arms and legs are shattered, then remade. Three ball joints fill your skin in place of knees and elbows, and spinning your limbs beneath the furs, you realize your strength is undiminished, but your flexibility has more than doubled, presenting myriad unpredictable angles of attack in melee combat. An instant after, the pain is gone, it feels as if pins and needles cover every centimeter, or inch of your crawling skin, and laying your hand on the furs, you tense and feel a million microscopic hooks hold it steadfast. It does wonders for your grip, but you are quick to realize their foremost utility lies in their capacity to allow you to ascend even the flattest of walls with ease. Your stomach stops growling so much, and you realize your hunger seems to have abated.

Now, you won't require such prodigal amounts of precious food, only the normal for a man close to twice any ordinary human's size. Suddenly, you realize you are the greatest man to ever live, on the cusp of glorious transcendence, soon to be King of the Himalayas with all of Asia soon to follow. Other humans are nothing compared to you, mere animals to entertain your staggering intellect, living tools to further your dominion, they are a lesser form of life, and you find that you no longer care for their suffering, so long as it is for your own, personal gain. A strange, springy tension fills the back of your mind, and curious to release this new power, your many-jointed arm twists to connect and latch onto a nearby cultist's shoulder. Taking your mind and breaking its barriers, you release, and the cultist stops in his tracks, he is unable to think for several seconds, takes twice as long to recover, and a second touch is more than enough to start the process all over again. This stunning touch should prove useful in conjunction with your heightened flexibility.

You feel your dominance spring to the forefront of your mind and when you say, stand on one leg, strike your leftward neighbor's right shoulder with an outstretched palm, and attempt to do a double somersault, each and every one in the room does everything in their power to comply, and it is hilarious. These cultists would've done your bidding regardless, but they did not hesitate for an instant to follow your ridiculous commands, and it occurs to you that others, who are yet to worship your majesty will soon kneel to your mesmerizing voice.

> [1/3]
>>
>>2964668

The next change is subtle, and if you weren't attuned to such things you doubt you'd have noticed. Something about your flesh and bone feels, slippery, and pondering on the peculiar sensation, it occurs to you that energy, be it lightning, laser beams, radioactive poison, or more, shall no longer avail your foes. The fiercest of their energy-based attacks are as nothing before you, and you'll break the unbeliever's fragile unchanged forms over your knee!

Coming to comprehend the immense untapped potential near your physique, your mind reaches out, and a pale smoke bursts from the walls. It drifts at the push of an unseen breeze, soon filling the entirety of the room, and while its does nothing to effect you, when your followers catch a whiff their eyes go wild and they begin to shake. Filled with intense energy, they begin to run in circles, jump several feet in the air, and scream their never-ending devotion to their etenal King Malcardor. You sense this gaseous smoke will do much to enhance your follower's combat ability, or at least, the speed with which they're torn apart by a hail of gunfire.

The last change, to your disappointment as the mutations come to and end, is an alien intuition. Merely brushing against the skin of a mortal is enough to tell you if they too have been changed, and a prolonged grasp is enough to determine the extent of their mutations. These mutations are amazing, the twisting of the flesh is incandescent, and your physique is more beautiful than any other, but it is not enough. The more eldritch meat you eat, the better it tastes, and once you've enjoyed a veritable banquet of succulent Unholy skin, you're confident your body will prove worthy of your mind. Until then, you must linger in anguish at your own insufficience.

For the moment, you've eaten your full and decide that, as all of your warriors had an equal part in slaying the demon, all of your warriors shall dine on an equal share of its flesh. Driven half-mad by your stimulating smoke they sing praises to your benevolence and generosity, and dig into their paltry portions with intense vigor. Disappointingly, only a handful undergo mutation and the results are pathetic, they can now float in water via inflating an air-sack, and neon-glow in the dark at will. Nonetheless, those mutated consider themselves blessed, and the remainder only grow in their eagerness to partake in the eldritch feast.

Your flesh is chilled and your wounds run deep, it will be days before you can walk again, and perhaps a week before you've recovered enough to take part in battle. During this time, your horde will remain in the community, and they await your instructions on how to spend their time. Come to think of it,

If your rule is to encompass the eight corners of the earth, your followers must wield steely faith and martial skill in equal measure. You instruct the cultists to begin training and ready themselves for war. Without a skilled instructor they find the task you've set for them far more difficult than it could be, but they pursue it with the same wild-eyed zeal you've come to expect. Sadly, they've failed to meaningfully progress in a week's time, but if their furious fanaticism continues, eventually, you should see results.

In the meantime, you take to eating as much food as the village can bring, and over the course of a week of gluttony, manage to puke twelve eggs you instinctively understand will develop into cattle more than large enough to feed your men. Between feasts and having the cultists pack your precious spa- the eggs in warm rags, you study the old elder's religious texts. Most irksomely, you can't find any examples of gluttonous deities or kingly giants you can claim to be, though Hinduism is not nearly so rigid as the Abrahamic faiths and you're confident if you played your cards right, you could prove that you're the newly risen god you claim to be and the peasantry will fall in line.

You instruct the cleverest seamstresses in the village to make you a suit of armor out of the demon's hide, but they run into two near insurmountable difficulties. Apparently, even in death the hide continues to passively drain the heat from its surroundings, and blunts the sewing needles of those who seek to thread it. Their lack of success is frustrating, but they are not perfect and you can't expect them to do the impossible. Deep in your stomach, you feel there's a way to make a cloak out of the hide, but no ideas to handle the chilling aura come to mind. Sadly, anything esoteric left the shrine with the slaying of the shadow-fiend.

After one week, your wounds have warmed and under the diligent watch of the cultists, closed. From now on there will be several nasty scars marring your chest but that is acceptable, as it conveys your martial prowess. Your cultists have yet to reach a level of combative skill more advanced than charging and flailing in a suicidal mob, but on the other hand, your cattle drones have eaten less than half of what they should and have fattened to almost twice the size of any goat. They're roughly halfway to full-size, and if they exert themselves, are able to writhe at the speed of a brisk jog.

These first three weeks have seen you climb the first rung on the ladder to ascension, and only time will tell when you'll reach transcendence.
