I will be keeping track of the main character's stats and equipment here, as well as the world building thread and system rules: (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DwvpjSwTehMVNrEUqI7FUq_-HW-aEGrPlRKOGf3Ae4E/edit?usp=sharing)

_ _ _ _

There live four adventurers named Dayron Aries, Brennon, Stacy, and Kurosan. They traveled the land in search of wisdom, knowledge, and coin. They were a hardy bunch, who often drank too much, and showed up to jobs late often, but these are our heroes so you'd better get used to it.

They walk along a trail, heading towards the small village of Dimblewort, known for their pig ranches and their delicious sausage. A message had been sent roughly three days ago as a call for help, so they left their hometown hidden deep within the woods and set out for adventure.

Brennon pulls out the letter that was sent earlier that week from his pocket. It has many spelling and grammatical errors but more or less says, "My good friends, Adventurers of Dawnhelm, there have frequently been a large number of unnatural occurrences in our village. I, the chief know that you study the many magics of this world and would like your aid in dealing with this. I fear we may have been cursed.

The chief's frown deepens. "A man in a hood wearing a wooden mask and glowing yellow eyes came through our town. At first we thought he was simply an odd guy, or maybe he ate too many glow-shrooms. After a few days of him doing nothing, he goes out to the graveyard and raises all of our dead and marches off!"

"Maybe they were just sleeping?" Stacy cocks her head in thought, sticking her tongue out.

Brennon shakes his head, "I don't think so."

Chief's eyes widen, "But that is not the worst part! The worst part is that now, when the moon is unseen at night, someone in our village mysteriously dies and wander off, most likely to join the masked man and the rest of the undead. If this continues, I fear there will be no people left in Dimblewort!"

Chief Watta-nunga chuckles lightly. There's one young man who would love to help out. He grew up hearing the stories of you heroes fighting off LORD GRIMDARK. He's hardly a man, but it would be good for him to get out of the village. He is out in Elder Rucker's ranch. As for supplies, you can go over to Misstress Patrice's tent near the well. She has a few wares she could sell to you at half price."

Sighing, the chief shakes his head. "As for this masked man, we have no idea where he came from, or who he works for. However, some people have said they have overheard him mumbling about the Louana Ruins? But those are off in the Northern desert!"

The Chief's hut is pretty close to the well, so you head over there first. Before you step in, you hear an old woman's voice call, "I only have so much room in this tent, so one person at a time, please.

Stacy pulls out the magic orb from Dayron's satchel, and sees some anons. One looks straight at her as she activates it and calls some others to come over. "Hello there, little men!"

"Comrade, what is that you are doing?" Kurosan scratches his head.

Stacy squeezes her eyes shut with glee. "There are little men trapped in this marble!"

Brennon frowns, "It's a crystal ball that is attuned to another crystal ball in the possession of LORD GRIMDARK. His faceless slaves took it and use it to talk to us. Apparently they were transported here from another plane of existence.

Kurosan stares blankly. "Oh."

Continuing her prodding, Stacy speaks in a singsong, baby voice. "Why hello, my widdle men! Hello! How are you~?"

"U-uh, p-pretty good, ma'am. LORD GRIMDARK is just having us polish the gargoyles for the third time toda-"

The party heads over to the pig ranch and finds the boy the Chief described. He was of average size and build, albeit a bit on the leaner side. He had long hair parted down the middle, and his clothes were stained with dirt.

"Hi there!" Stacy pokes the boy, who freezes up immediately.

"Y-y-you're..." He stammers with a mixture of anxiety and overwhelming joy.

"We're the Adventurers of Dawnhelm, seekers of knowledge, truth, and coin. We heard you wanted to help us out?" Brennon coughed lightly, pushing up his spectacles.

"Yeah. M-my name is Harold." Harold smiles absentmindedly.

"We should get going soon, buddy" Dayron placed a reaffirming hand on the kid's shoulder.

"I've got my stuff on me already."

"Cool"

The adventurers make their way out of the village, and a few people wave them off. "Good luck heroes!" A mother and her children smile at the group.

The adventurers decide to stay at the camp for the night. Stacy and Brennon work of conjuring cots while Dayron rests his head against a rock and falls asleep.

Kurosan and Harold practice throwing knives together, under the moonlight. "I've never been away from the ranch for this long." Harold's knife plunges into the base of a cactus.

"Keep your eyes on where you want to hit." Kurosan sighs, "It's okay to miss your home, comrade. I think about the encampment where I was raised. There was a lake there, and we fished every morning and night, and tended to the crops nearer Dawnhelm town. It was honest work."

Harold throws another knife, this one striking the middle of the desert plant. "The thing is, though, I'm not sad. I don't miss Elder Rucker or any of the other farm hands at all. I always dreamed of traveling with you adventurers, and here I am."

"That is both interesting and flattering." Kurosan smiles underneath his mask.

Three distinguished anons set out into the grasslands all the way from LORD GRIMDARK'S fortress, FORT GRIMKEEP. They had been on the /qst/ board of 4chan one day until they were sucked into the very fictional world they helping to build.

They stand on a rather large hill, overlooking the small village of Dimblewort.

"Get down, fools!" a rather muscled anon barked at the other two. He grasps a GRIMWAND in his hand, a tool for focusing dark energies.

"Wow, that village sure looks cool! Isn't this great! Sure beats any sort of videogame I've ever played!" This comes from the mouth of a particularly well-groomed anon. Though he was a virgin, he does all he can to make that a thing of the past.

An anon clad in the picth-black dressing of GRIMDARK squints his eyes and frowns,"shut up you two. I say we bolt in there and show 'em who's boss. GRIMDARK wants this village to bend under his will, just like the last three did."

"But those only decided to recognize LORD GRIMDARK as their supreme leader due to the wrath of that big dragon or whatever," the well groomed anon combs his fingers through his hair.

The anons know that all underlings (especially beasts) are infused with the power of GRIMDARK and turn as black as night with an underlying crimson color. This giant worm has no such coloring and is free for a relentless beating.

Stabby runs and lunges at Watta-Nunga as the worm tunnels toward him!

>Giant worm ~ Agility: ??? = 9
>Stabby ~ Agility: 4D = 12
>Success!

Stabby grabs the Chief, tumbling down a slope away from the worm. "Get as far as you can!" Watta-Nunga runs past his house before Stabby turns around and yells for his fellow anons to come down the hill.

Split into two groups away from each other so the Worm doesn't slam us all. Beefy and Pretty stay where they at. And Stabby and Young girl relocated some part away so it can't attack the whole team in one attack.

“Beefy”
>Wits: 4D+2 (Magic 1D)
Since it's a ground type, let Beefy shoot Ice Spears at it.

“Stabby”
>Wits: 4D (Magic 1D)
Does like Beefy and shoots it Ice Spears

“Pretty”
>Wits: 4D (Magic 2D)
Make it rain some ice spears from the sky above it

Young Girl

Have her throw rocks. It's Agility right?

I'm thinking about veering away from the guidelines and making magic more freeform. This would come with its own ups and downs.

To create ice spears in a place with moderate temperature and little excess water would be difficult, but possible.

If you want to adhere to the system, each anon has at least one skill die in magic, (and it each magic die you have, you can allot one spell) if we stick to this, it would be more feasible to summon ice spears, as the anons would be well-versed in that spell already to overcome the hurdles.

What would you guys like to do, keep magic free-form, or stick to the system?

Guess we can turn the ice spears into rock spears. Keeping the magic free-form.

And instand of rain spear, he just make some ground raise from the ground to pierce the worm basically if the worm try to go down he get pierce deeper.

The three anons put their arms around each other, freely transferring their magic energy between one another.

>For the spell to work, each anon must roll higher than 14. But, due to the anons pooling their magic together, they will gain a +3 modifier (or one die) for their rolls.

>Target Number: 14
>Beefy ~ Wits: 4D+2 (Magic 1D) +3 = 5D+2+3 = 25!
>Beefy rolled a 6 on the wild die! Roll 1D again!
>1D = 6! Roll again!
>1! Total score = 25+6+1 = 32!
>Critical success for Beefy!

>Target Number: 14
>Pretty ~ Wits: 4D (Magic 2D)+3 = 6D+3 = 22!

>Target Number: 14

>32-15= 17
>22-15= 7
>17-15= 3
>Damage output = 27!

>Damage = 27
>Giant Worm ~ Might: ??? = 20
>Damage inflicted = 7!

Large spikes of earth rise up from the ground, piercing the giant invertebrate. The beast wriggles, and finds it cannot move without harming itself!

>Giant worm is stuck!

The young girl picks up rocks and chucks them at the worm.

>Target Number: 10
>Young Girl ~ Agility: 3D = 17! The girl rolls a 6 on the Wild Die! Roll one extra die, and add it to your score!
> 1D = 4!
>Total score = 17+6+4 = 27!
>Critical success!
>Every point over the target number is converted into damage!
>Damage output = +7
>Damage value of rock: 1D-3+7 = 5
>The Giant Worm takes no damage due to it's high defense.

The rock flies through the air, and while it strikes the worm's thick flesh, it merely bounces off.

"Aw man." The girl frowns.
>>
>>2981942
Goddamn that's a powerful worm.
>>
>>2981949
Yeah, I based it off of the Giant template monster. In hindsight, using an enemy with the highest challenge rating is not a good idea.

But, I believe in you anon!
>>
Rolled 58 (1d100)

>>2981942
Guess if that work. Time to pool our magic together into a Sharp big spear fasting at the worm at high speed. Since it's stuck we'll have no trouble hitting it, don't want our attack weaken by trying to go to a open wound and hitting one of the ground Spears.

So just send that fast flying sharp big spear at center mass at the worm.

The girl falls back and tell us she believes in us. Giving us the magic of innocent to our attack.

The anons keep their arms on one another.

"Alright! Let's do this!" Beefy flexes, gripping the other two a bit tighter. Their energy flows around each one of them, and connects to the ground behind them. Pieces of soil and stone levitate, slowly forming into a cylindrical shape...

"I believe in you, heroes!" The girl clutches her chest as she shouts encouragement from the side.

The spear goes flying, sharpened by the pressured stone and dirt it lodges itself into the massive varmint, and stays there. The worm goes limp, having given up.

The villagers come out from their hiding places and lift up the anons onto their shoulders. "Our heroes!" The crowd cheers, and showers the faceless guardians with gifts and gold.

>Pork Sausage(10): +2 (Stamina) when making defending rolls against physical attacks or poison. Three sausages count as one meal.

>Silver Ring: increases (Magic) by +1 pip.
>Rusty Key: An old rusted iron key. Who knows what it could be for.

After the festivities (which mainly consisted of the people parading the anons around and singing praises) they set down their newfound heroes and the Chief comes out to say a word.

"Dearest beast-slayers, we were unknowing to your presence until you saved us from that monster. You have served us well, and we are very thankful. Perhaps LORD GRIMDARK is not so bad after all."

To Beefy

>What they say
"It wasn't a problem, us Anons love saving the innocent and avoiding any life loss when it's possible. We hope LORD GRIMDARK treats you well."

Also we should head out this village and head to a city where we can buy some items. Maybe meet new legal age females

And the young girl, see if we can return her to her mother/father, not before Stabby give a heart to heart to her. About heros, are not born but made, wish the girl and family luck and give them 5 gold for them. Even tho Pretty was better stats for Charm, it was Stabby that get her to follow him. So more feels.

SHE STAYS
- - - - - -
Pretty clears his throat and gives a speech to the villagers, "It's really not a problem. We anons love saving the innocent and preventing bloodshed. We hope our LORD GRIMDARK will treat you well. Don't cause any trouble, and you'll be just fine."

"What's an anon?" One of the villagers whispers to one another after they all applaud Pretty's speech.

Stabby sighs and casts a sad gaze at the girl. "I think it's time for you to go back home, friend."

"No! I don't want to go! I want to be heroes like you guys!"

Stabby moves to kneel, but decides not to and pats her on the head. "Well, lets see what your Mom and Dad think of it first, hm?

The girl smirks. "Ma and Papa?" She takes Stabby's hand and leads him to a humble hut where her parents are standing, eyeing the two with warm smiles.

"D'aww sweetheart, you'll do fine. I know you wanted to leave with those other adventurers, but when is the last time they slayed a beast like these brave men?" The mother rubs her daughter's arms and fiddles with her hair.

Papa produces a simple bag full of necessities."Ma and I knew this day would come. You're much to rowdy to stay on the farm. But, I know you'll be back here someday."

The parents give their daughter a hug and kiss goodbye, and after that they go to Stabby. Papa shakes his hand, while Ma kisses him on the cheek. "Goodbye sweetheart." The parents give a sad smile and watch as their daughter walks away with their newfound heroes.

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away in the northern desert, are five adventurers. They travel the rough and sandy road, and spot a few seemingly human figures a ways off.

Brennon scratches his nose, "With that previous encounter with someone a ways off, I'm wary to even pay attention to these people."

"Comrade, we cannot allow our past to hinder our present. These mat be people in need of help." Kurosan responds, matter-of-factly.
