We play as Percy a Pokémaniac with a knack for communicating with Pokémon.
He's on his way to become a professional trainer and find his calling in life.

Your team so far consists of:
Houndour
Mimikyu
Loudred
Vulpix (Alolan)
“Prince” (Elekid)

Traveling partners:
Kadabra

Last time:
After a quick training session we delved into the deeps of the ruins located underneath Ibarra Village where we helped a Larvitar escape from a trainer trying to capture him, then we met his mother who proceeded to break our arm thanks to the psychic entity possessing us.

After getting some medical attention and making sure that type of incident never repeats we had a movie night with Eli one of our companions in this journey. The next day we encountered the Ground Gym Leader, Dr. Henry Ford trying to evade his responsibilities as a Gym Leader to do some archeology. After an history lesson we are heading back to the Gym for our second Gym Battle!

The gym leader opens the back door of the gym, it’s decently sized building, much smaller than the gym at North Pass, taking in account the steel-gym was only the three last floors of the building. The inside isn’t very impressive either, a single ample arena with a row of benches for spectators, a metal staircase that leads to what you guess is an office or a break room. The place is dimly lit. More than a gym it looks like a warehouse repurposed for Pokémon battles.

After closing the door as silently as possible a voice calls out the rugged looking man.

[Gym-Assistant]: “Doctor! You are back so soon? I just send like half a dozen to the ruins to search for you!”
[Dr. Henry Ford]: “The runt found me in record-time. I’ll get back there as soon as we finish this”

The assistant goes to turn the lights of the arena and to check your trainer id just to confirm how many badges you have already.

[Dr. Henry Ford]: Alright kid, let’s dance.

The man takes two Pokéball from his belt, he’s ready to rumble.

>Vulpix and Loudred!

Both of your Pokémon get into the arena. The two girls are more than ready to fight.

[Loudred]: Alright! Let’s have a good fight!

[Vulpix]: Hmph. I can do this by myself, try to not get in my way.

The Gym leader lets out his own pair of Pokemón, a Gligar starts to glide across the arena mocking his opponents, while a Baltoy waits patiently for your team to do their first move.

[Gym-Assistant]: No time limits, no ring outs, the battle ends when the opposing Pokémon can’t fight anymore or when a trainer concedes. Begin!

>Vulpix focuses on evading any incoming attacks and prepares to attack with "Icy Wind"

>Loudred braces herself to weather every hit she takes and prepares to attack Baltoy with an Ice Beam.

The Gligar starts gliding in circles around your Pokémon while he slowly closes in, trying to avoid any hit. He seems to be holding something in a bag, "Bright Powder" which, when moved in the right angles reflects light directly into the eyes of your Pokémon messing with their vision.

Meanwhile Baltoy seems to hold a Figy Berry, which would restore around half it's health if he found himself in a heavily damaged state.

Gligar tries to start a Sandstorm, while Baltoy is concentrating his Psychic powers to hurl the boulders laying around the battlegrounds to Vulpix

Gligar revs up a "sandstorm" that covers all of the arena, he seems to disappear while gliding around the sand. Gligar's Ability "Sand Veil" makes him harder to detect and hit!

>Vulpix: Partial pass!

Baltoy uses "Rock Tomb" throwing various heavy rocks to Vulpix. As they rain down in the arena Vulpix can only evade the without getting any chance to attack herself.

>Loudred: CRIT FAIL

While Loudred charges her Ice Beam trying to hit the easy target that is Baltoy, the Gym leader notices just in time and orders Baltoy to switch targets since he isn't hitting Vulpix anyway. The Baltoy launches a particularly big barrage of rocks towards Loudred who fails to brace herself in time. Making her tumble before she gets the chance to fire her attack. The terrain surrounding her is filled with rocks difficulting her movements

Avoiding the falling rocks Vulpix manages to use Icy Wind, the frosty ice currents move fast inside the sandstorm hitting Baltoy squarely, and even though you didn't see him you could hear Gligar complain from the pain. It's super effective!

>Loudred CRIT

Loudred follows up putting her all into the Ice Beam. It's bigger than before, bigger than her humongous mouth and it envelops Baltoy's body completely. Baltoy is "Frozen!" He seems to be nearing a critical state but because he's currently covered in ice he can't eat his berry. It's super effective!

[Dr. Henry Ford]: Sky Uppercut!

You can't tell where it came from but the Gligar swoops by Loudred feet and rises up again delivering a nasty punch before hiding into the sand once again. "It's super effective."

>Loudred: Successful Pass!
>Vulpix: CRIT FAIL

Percy: Vulpix! Focus on getting rid of Gligar! Loudred finish Baltoy!

[Vulpix]: On it! This damn sand! I can’t see anything!

Vulpix starts concentrating to catch Gligar, turning her head around all of the arena, she can’t find him so she turns her attention to Loudred since that’s where he surely will attack. Loudred prepares to finish Baltoy with an Ice Beam, her target is impossible to miss.
Just as she’s about to fire the beam Gligar appears again trying to use “Sky Uppercut” once again. But Vulpix manages to see him just in time, but the Bright Powder that Gligar is holding reflects the light from the “Ice Beam” directly into Vulpix eyes, making her miss when she fires her “Ice Shard” an instead of hitting the flying/ground type she hits her teammate! The damages isn’t to grave but it lets Gligar land his attack without a problem! Loudred manages to fire her Ice Beam and hit the Baltoy knocking him out, but the ice shard, the Super Effective attack and the constant damage from the Sandstorm knocks her out!

The gym leader returns Baltoy to his ball and prepares to let his last mon out.

>Vulpix is damaged further from the sandstorm!

Gligar remains hidden in the sand cackling at Vulpix and belittling her for taking her battle partner down herself. He wants to get on her nerves.

>Vulpix and Mimikyu, Successful passes!

The Gym Leader shouts, he's gonna use an item. A Super Potion for his Gligar before the battle resumes.

>Gligar is at full health!

Shortly after, Vulpix unleashes her "Icy Wind" heavily damaging him as well as Sandslash who wanted to close in to deliver some damage to Vulpix. Meanwhile Mimikyu starts moving around the battlegrounds in order to create various afterimages of the little ghost.

Since Vulpix was focused on attacking she's open to attacks herself, Sandslash takes advantage of this to use "Rock Tomb" hurling stones to Vulpix frail body.
>It's super effective!

>Mimikyu: Successful pass!

Mimikyu prepares to take Sandslash out, his appendage extends as his little wooden club exudes a strange greenish miasma, it aims directly to Sandslash! The gym-leader notices that Mimikyu is too fast and Sandslash has no chance of delivering his attack so he instructs Gligar to instead focus on Vulpix.
Percy: Vulpix! Focus on getting rid of Gligar! Loudred finish Baltoy!

[Gligar]: Try to not hit your friend this time! Kekekeke!

[Vulpix]: Shut up! That was a mistake!

[Gligar]: You being here is a mistake! Stick to contests snowcone! Kekekeke!

[Vulpix]: Hey, I want to do both!

Vulpix is caught of guard, the Gligar uses his “Bright Powder” To blind Vulpix once again before finishing her off with a “Sky Uppercut”.

Meanwhile, Mimikyu’s Wood hammer hits Sandlash fully, sending him to the ground before he could do his “Earthquake”.
>It’s super effective!
The heavy attack was enough to knock him down for good, but it caused some serious recoil damage to Mimikyu.

Percy:Who?

Percy:Oh yeah! We are traveling partners! And friends! Yep, friends! Human friends! Wait, is she in jail?!

[Officer Miller]:We only detained her for a couple hours, she and another trainer were causing some ruckus at a local establishment. Well Mr. Williams, let me send you the address of the station and I’ll meet you there as soon as possible. Good afternoon.

Crap, you hope Eli didn’t got involved in anything serious. Oh, there’s also some new messages!

[Gareth]: Hey little man! Guess what! I won some extra cash, so I was planning to make it up to you and Eli for saving my ass back in the cave. Lydia recommended me this place near the market, they serve some killer tacos.

Being a Gym-Leader is a strange job. They get plenty of dosh from the government, but most of that goes to maintaining the Gym and paying the trainers who beat them.

Even maintaining a simple almost run-down installation like the Gym at Ibarra Village costs most of the money the government pays him.

They make around as much as an average college professor which is a respectable quantity.

But most Gym aren't only gyms, and they have means to get more money on the side. Dr. Henry can barely sustain himself as most of his money goes to fund his research, while the water gym leader is obscenely rich.

A quick rundown!

>Steel Gym: It's also an office building for the Blackstone Co, and helps train the mons used by the company

>Ground Gym: Even though the Gym Leader was opposed to it, they made the ruins an open space to the public to attract more tourism.

>Grass Gym: Also a nature reserve/ Safari-zone for those who beat it

>Fairy Gym: Contest hall, the leader is an idol who makes an spectacle of some of her matches. She also has a music career.

>Water Gym: Resort, various battles are televised in a showy manner, the gym leader got his own tv program where he showcases the best battles, also trainer-drama

>Dark Gym: Is a night-club. If it's not brimming with people it's because it's closed.

>Fighting Gym: It's a gym, to workout. For Pokémon and Human. Also many people come to watch the matches in the ring. The Lucha-libre theme it has is quite popular.

Wimpod- rare alolan pokemon
Wasn't affected by the Poke uprising because he was "lucky"
>>
>>2963328
Actually, after having a good think about it (and doing some metagaming) Med let it slip that those Dodrio races were totally fixed. That means that Gareth wasn't supposed to win, and that probably means he unknowingly pissed off some organized crime types.

Still think going to the police station is the best course of action - that way at least Eli is around for whatever we're doing next - but it's something to consider.

>We can't afford to lose. One loss and your gym career is over.
What? Isn't that for the last gym only?
IIRC you can lose and try again up until those Dragon cunts just give you one chance in their gym, lose to them and you can't make champ or go pro, meaning all that time with the previous gyms is wasted, rubbing more salt in the wound.
It's why Eli's dad was so salty about it when he talked about his experience.
And it's why Percy & Co aren't stressed out about challenging the current gyms. Right?

Yo Medi, can you clarify?
Do we only have one chance to win in every gym or is that only true for the dragon gym?

>A literal baby that just started and a pokemon equivalent of a bratty tween no less.
Yeah no, we aren't Kali with her rich deep pockets or connections to a shady corporation that allows her to use rare candies like treats.
I mean, are Rare Candies even sold in stores? As far as I can remember they're of questionable legality too.
This is endgame stuff here for when our main team is high level and evolved.
Remember, our choices have consequences: even just letting pokemon evolve naturally will make it harder for them to learn certain moves which is why Houdour doesn't want to evolve yet.
I'd rather hold on to the stuff at least until we get more badges under our belt

In other words, they're pretty rare and considering the scarcity on the market, beyond our means if we ever found someone selling them, but the smarter thing for them to do would be auctioning it which would be even more expensive for ol' Percy
So the ones we have now will be the only ones we'll see in a long ass time so we better not waste them when it's still easy to get gains.

You decide to text Gareth, just to make sure he's alright.

Percy: (Online, To Gareth) Well Wimpods can eat about anything so it shouldn’t be bad for him, but refrain from giving them to Sand-Rider. Hey, can you send me a message as soon as possible?

That should do it, now you direct yourself to the Police station, it’s near the capture and defense post so you already know your way. More or less.

It’s a small building, you guess there’s not much need for a police force around here. The receptionist greets you and after confirming who you are directs you to Miller´s office.

The stern looking man was already waiting for you, he says this shouldn’t take long. There’s a plate full of mini-donuts at the center, the man asks if you would like some coffee, you are kind of nervous, so you refuse. Prince grabs your attention and points to the donuts, he would like some. You hand him a couple.

The officer explains to you that Eli got in a fight with a bounty hunter inside the saloon. The fight escalated to a Pokémon battle, thankfully they didn’t wreck the place and nobody is pressing charges.

[Officer Miller]: How long have you and Miss. Matthews known each other?

Percy: A little longer than a week already.
[Officer Miller]: You are recent acquaintances, but she’s travelling with you. Is Eli involved with any shady groups or individuals, people who seem up to no good? How would you describe her group of friends?

Percy: I don’t think she is involved with any of that stuff. Back at North Pass she didn’t seem to hang around anyone besides me and her team? She just likes the punkish aesthetic, I guess, but she’s no criminal. (You think, at least)

[Officer Miller]: She doesn’t have other acquaintances besides you? That seems a little hard to believe

Percy:Well, there’s another guy accompanying us, Gareth, but he’s harmless. And she seems to get along Kali, the granddaughter of C.G Orizaba. And she trained under my grandfather, but outside of that. I really haven’t seen her with anyone else besides her mons.

Percy:And it’s not that unbelievable to have Pokémon as your only friends. Before meeting her I didn’t have any human friends! (You state, proudly at your accomplishments regarding human interactions)

[Officer Miller]: Alright. One last question. Has she ever mentioned, or are you familiar with an individual known as “The Arsonist”? And if so, what can you tell me about it?

>You know nothing (lie, requires roll)
>Yes! That’s me! I’m the Arsonist!

I mean, being socially aware doesn't really play into this, you can lack social awareness but that doesn't mean you lack a sense of knowing you might get yourself fucked, we joke about it but Percy isn't an autist, just really weird.
Percy's in the middle of a precinct getting interrogated by a cop and the interrogation just shifted to him personally.
He wouldn't put it so eloquently though, probably sweat bullets and stutter a lot and ironically look really suspicious while trying to clear his name
>>
>>2964154

>Suspicions are cleared!
>98, that’s pretty good.

Elekid gets up on your lap to get a better reach of the donuts. He smiles innocently to the officer while munching on the treats, is he trying to make you look better? Well, it’s time to clear everything up, or this rumor could become something troublesome.
Just calm yourself down, think about Pokémon. You swallow your nervousness and answer.

Percy: I-I-I, f-feel (Don’t stutter, take a deep breathe. You don’t want to cause more trouble to your mons)

Percy:I should explain some things. This “Arsonist” deal is blown out of proportion.

Percy: It was just a beginner mistake, we were getting too excited at the tournament and went a little too hard with a flamethrower. But no Pokémon was harmed badly! We and Houndour even apologized personally to two of them!

The officer takes a good look at you and your mons, specially Houndour who watches him without much interest.

[Officer Miller]: I believe you son. You don’t seem to match the description of the rumors, and I can see how your actions could add more fuel to the fire, but, there not mere stories.

The officer shows you a picture, a house is set ablaze. A young man walks away from it, in his side is a Houndour. The picture is blurry but he seems to be laughing. He looks slightly similar to you.
[Officer Miller]: This picture was presumably taken this last Sunday, lately, it’s been said that the young man in the picture is the same one of the rumors. The same day, there was reports of an “arson” incident back at Silverpoint city.

[Officer Miller]: Be careful kid, that name could attract the wrong kind of attention. Hope this whole thing gets cleared up soon.

After the interrogation the officer walks you towards the holding cells. You can see a pair of girls bickering.

Eli:Yo, this whole thing is your fault! I have stuff to do! I can’t be locked up in a stinking cell all day!

[Bounty-Hunter]: Shut up, you were the one that wanted to “Throw down”, you punk-poser, hair-dyeing attention seeker.

Eli: Hey! That’s my natural color!

[Bounty-Hunter]: Natural my ass, it’s noxious. It looks like chewed up bubblegum.

Eli:Now you are making it personal! We’ll finish this once we get out!

[Bounty-Hunter]: You made it personal when you caught that Hippowdon!

Eli:I didn’t see your name on it!

[Bounty-Hunter]: It had it! I took that bounty three days before you caught it! You can just go around stealing a bounty hunters’ prey! You just stumbled upon it and were lucky enough to somehow capture it without dying!

Eli: It’s not luck, I’m just too good. Not like some dumb bounty hunter that can’t even find a stupidly massive Hippo even after searching for her for three days.

[Bounty-Hunter]:We all know the Arsonist did the real job, you are just his groupie, a lackey at best.

Eli:Fuck you! I’m nobody’s lackey!

[Bounty-Hunter]:So, a groupie then?

Both girls stop their shouting match to look at you for a second. Eli grins while the Bounty-hunter just looks confused.

Percy: FOR YOU!

[Bounty-Hunter]: That's a way to phrase it.

Eli: Dude! Don’t call me that! Now she knows!

[Bounty-Hunter]: Who’s this guy?

Percy: Elizabeth! How could this happen! A life behind bars in no place for a trainer! What would little Avenger say? (You say in an over the top melodramatic manner)

Eli: Hehe, cut it out weirdo, it’s not my first time being detained. And you took your sweet time getting here!

Percy: Sorry, had to catch up. Don’t want my “lackey” to leave me behind.

Eli: Ohoho, we both know you are the “groupie” of the two. But we could have a battle to settle it, just to show you who’s boss.

[Bounty-Hunter]: Wait, this guy is “your Arsonist”?

Percy: Hehehe, let’s just say you should watch out for cheap imitations. Alright, let’s go Elizabeth!

Eli:About damn time! And stop calling me that!

The officer let’s Eli out of the holding cell, she gives one last “fuck-you” to the bounty hunter before leaving. The girl in the cell keeps staring at you. You also tell officer Miller about Gareth showing him his last message and a photo of him. He tells you he will send some of his men to look around for him.

After that, you and Eli make way to Pokémon center to heal up your mons. Kadabra tries to use his telepathy to find where Gareth is while Houndour tries to sniff his particular scent around.

While you go heal up your team Houndour and Kadabra try to find Gareth. The Pokémon center seems pretty barren, so it doesn’t take long.
>Your team is back at full health!
You let Loudred and Vulpix out of their balls, the ice type seems pretty confused

[Vulpix]: What happened? We lost?

[Mimikyu]: Master managed to win, despite our shortcomings.

[Vulpix]: So you finished the battle by yourself, I couldn’t even defeat one

[Vulpix]: That’s not fair! It was my time to shine! I want a rematch!

[Loudred]: Calm down sis, we beat them! I would had liked to fight a little longer though…

[Vulpix]: Dammit! You need to make me stronger fast Trainer! Just give me that damn stone already!

Percy: I don’t think it’s time for that Vulpix, we need to do some more training.

[Vulpix]: Hmph

Houndour keen sense of smell helps Kadabra narrow down the possible locations where Gareth could be found. After a couple of minutes, he locates his thoughts, seems like he’s being held at a closed location near the edge of town, he can feel fear in his mind. There are 3 people and a Pokémon besides Gareth. Kadabra also says that he can sense a couple of officers heading out to that location.

Gareth is a pretty lucky guy, you are sure he can make it out of this predicament without your help. Better leave it to the professionals.

Eli: Sooo, not to be a mood-killer, but why are we ogling old, dead shit today? Didn’t you break your arm doing it?

Percy: That was an accident that won’t happen again. And It isn’t just that! Ruins are filled with mysteries and adventure! Who knows what we can find inside! The ancient history of forgotten civilizations, rare Pokémon hiding in the settlements, old treasures just waiting to be discovered!

Eli:Alright nerd, you got met at the treasure part, just tell me the way! Just stay behind me, you can’t battle with two broken arms

You and her talk about your gym bouts while get to the ruins. You tell her about Loudred and Vulpix fights and how the Baltoy and the Sandlash filled the place with rocks while Gligar evaded attacks, and how Mimikyu defeated two of the mons without taking any real hits.

Percy: Yeah, I may have gotten a little too cocky with Loudred and Vulpix, but Mimikyu took them out without much problem!

Eli: Nice going little chef, (she high-fives Mimikyu’s appendage coming out from your backpack). And yeah, he tried to pull the same stunt with me! But, I had Tremor digging some tunnels to get a CRUNCH in that Baltoy face! And Avenger just filled the place with poisonous gas! We baited his Sandlash in using the underground tunnels and then BOOM, Earth Power Motherfucker! Used Embargo to nullify that annoying bright powder and provoked that flying bastard to hit him hard with Ice Fang! The whole thing was a little rough for Avenger but overall, it was a piece of cake! (She sounds really excited while narrating his battle, making sound effects with this big grin on her face)

Eli:Honestly , the hardest part was waiting for that guy to arrive!

Percy: Hey, sorry to interrupt you but, this has been in my mind for a while.

Eli:What’s wrong? (she seems genuinely concerned)

Percy: So... you DON'T dye your hair?

Eli:Dude, you speak Pokémonese and have a talking Elekid, but my hair being natural is where you draw the line?

Percy:Ehh…..

Eli:No dude! it’s natural, from my… mother side. What’s so weird about it? I mean, do you?

Percy:It’s just kind of unusual, bright pink? And why would I dye my hair?

Eli: Cuz, it’s greenish? I dunno. Whatever, my hair looks great.

Eli:….Right?

>Eh, it could use some changes (Something in particular?)

Percy: You probably shouldn’t listen to me, I honestly have no idea of what I’m doing in the looks area.

Eli: Well, at least you are honest. I mean that thing you were wearing at the party, holy shit…

Before the girl can finish, you ruffle her hair a little while smiling. She seems surprised. Blushing slightly before adjusting her beanie hurriedly.

Percy: But for what it's worth, I wouldn't change a thing of you

Eli:Yo! What does that mean?

Percy: I dunno, I’m acting on impulse here. Well let’s do some archeology!

You and Eli go trough the secret passage the Gym Leader showed you, going down a long flight of stairs. The girl and you illuminate the way with your flashbacks. Old crumbling walls, and various distant sounds hide in the darkness. Trough the cracks of the apparent roof some light shines. There’s an ample corridor that splits in various way, and you have no idea what the different paths will lead you too. Eli is keeping her eyes peeled for any treasure she can find.
Where should you go?

You decide to check out the sounds of Pokémon duking it out. A little deeper into the ruins, there’s a room that seems to be occupied by various mons. You and peek inside to see what’s going on. Three Pokémon are battling one another. An Aron, a Sableye and a Honedge.. They seem to be fighting to see who keeps the room.
The Sableye seems to be holding a bag full of things that he guards zealously while avoiding the other two attacks. Honedge fights with reckless abandon, saying that this is his home now and that he doesn’t want to return to the lower levels. Finally Aron seems to weather all of their attacks barely moving while retaliating, he seems pretty sturdy and hard headed.
Eli seems interested in catching one the Aron or the Honedge. What should you Percival Williams do?

Mimikyu gets ready to evade anything that's thrown to him and prepares to retaliate with Shadow Claw. Honedge shifts his attention to him since he is the one protecting you and tries to engage him using Shadow Sneak to compensate for his lack of speed!

DC:6

Houndour is putting his all on his attack. your team is focused on bringing down the Honedge as fast as possible! He readies his flamethrower to burn the steel/ghost type.

DC: 4

Various rocks float over the Aron's head, he jumps into the air to smash them with his head and propel them at Houndour, he's using rock slide!

Loudred tries to hit Aron with a Hammer Arm to cause as much damage as possible. Your team has advantage in terms of raw power so she goes for an offensive approach!

But before that, the Sableye prepares a "Confuse Ray" to hit the unsuspecting Loudred while he hides in the shadows of the room. His speed is superior to Loudred so the attack hits before she gets a chance to attack Aron.

Honedge uses Shadow Sneak, the nature of the move compensates his lack of speed and attacks first! Mimikyu tries to evade but Honedge's Shadow won't stop following. His ability "No guard" assures he hits his opponent, Mimikyu realizes he has no chance to get away and decides to tank the hit with his disguise while retaliating with shadow claw. Both attacks connect! Both are super effective! Mimikyu takes no damage but his disguise is busted, The Shadow claw took a good chunk of Honedge health.

Houndour tries to finish him off using his Flamethrower, Mimikyu gets out of the way for the flames to envelop the Ghost/Steel type, it damages Honedge even further almost finishing him off but Houndour's attack is interrupted by Aron's Rock Slide! The attack hits hard, it's super effective, Houndour seems down to half his health.

Loudred tries to deliver a Hammer Arm to Aron, but her confused state makes her wobbly and imprecise, she misses Aron entirely and instead strikes the ground with tremendous force, she makes a hole in the stone floor and it seems Loudred got her arm stuck.

Eli throws her Pokéball to the Honedge, it hits him and captures him! While the ball tilts from one side to another, your mons prepare to finish the other two.

Mimikyu focuses on hitting Sableye with Shadow Claw, the Sableye notices this and uses Confuse Ray before Mimikyu hits him. The confuse ray moves way faster than usual! It’s a priority move? This Sableye probably has “Prankster”.

Houndour prepares to evade Aron incoming barrage of rocks and hit him with a flamethrower, he has the speed advantage, so this shouldn’t be hard!

Houndour manages to get out of the way of the falling rocks and lands a Flamethrower while maintaining some distance, the attack is enough to leave him a little below half his health, another attack like that could finish him.

Sableye manages to confuse Mimikyu, but your mon has already launched his attack, his appendage slash with ferocity at Sableye's body before he gets a chance to dodge. The attack strong enough to take a third of his health!

The Pokéball Eli threw finally stops moving, Honedge has been captured!

Well, you wanted to find a non-violent resolution to this conflict in the first place.

Since violence already happened, might as well resolve this. You let Sableye out of Houndour grasp while making sure he doesn't leave the room. You decide to let him keep his food, you already have enough money.

[Sableye]: I appreciate your consideration, even after being mauled by your Pokémon, but we attacked first, so no hard feelings alright?

>Sableye is a little more amicable.

Eli heals her newest capture with some potion so she can wake up quickier. Aron is still out cold, the Honedge is more confused than anything, but she seems way less aggressive.

Honedge and Sableye explain how did they came to this. Aron is still out cold so you have Kadabra read his mind to fill the gaps in the story.

Honedge comes from the deeper of the ruins, that according to her, have very powerful, violent and territorial mons living there. After a particular mon claimed the room where she and her kin lived as his, she survived the assault and was forced to fend for herself until she found this room a couple of hours ago.

Aron has been living here for a while, he didn't notice Honedge was there, resting, while he was looking for food, so he decided to take a nap.

The two of them were woken up by Sableye, who was looking for a safe place to hide his food-stash (Gems and the like, he gets type-boosting gems, stardust pieces, and a Fire Stone)

Honedge just wants a quiet, peaceful life where she won't have to fight for her survival in a daily basis.

Sableye is just looking for a safe place to hide his food.

Aron just wants a quiet place to rest, and he already lived here.

You ask the Sableye if he could help you explore the ruins, he says he could. For a price. He seems to understand how human money works.

Pay Sableye?
>Give him 2,500
>Intimidate him, you and your team could finish him off at any moment if he refuses.
>Help one another, look for a safe place while he guides you through the ruins, yours and Eli's team will be his bodyguards

You remember to come back here after Aron wakes up, or you could take hin with you and ask him as soon as he wakes up

You tell Eli about Honedge situation, she might not be into battling because of her situation. Maybe it would be better fir her to stay in this room or in another safe place inside the rooms.

Eli basically said all the points I would mention - being on a trainer team is way less stressful than gutting it out in the ruins, at least in terms of the day-to-day routine.

You tell Sableye you would like to see if there's any Pokémon nests or communities, he tells you there's a couole of them living in the ruins, he can guide you to them!

You decide to take Aron with you, in case he's up for becoming pals, besides you shouldn't let him passed out in the ruins. That probably isn't safe.

You are compelled to carry the little guy but oh boy Aron's are heavy! Instead Loudred carries him.

>You kidnapped an unconscious Aron!

And Eli has a point, Honedge would probably safer with a Trainer, so you'll help the girl by transalting her message to the Honedge.

>Rolling for Eli, her DC is 55

Also, you should start looking for a good place for Sableye to use as a saferoom.

>4:You find a secret passage! The mechanism to open seems to be stuck, but with enough force it should open.

>6: You find a perfect room for Sableye! One of the Iron Vaults that seems to be open. But you don't notice there was someone occupying the room, and they aren't happy to see you

Also, the Pokémon communities are!

>A group of Goletts that work all day fixing the ruins, they leave in between the middle and lower leves, their leaders are ancient and know most about this ruins

Sableye leads you to where the Golett live. As you get deeper into the ruins you start hearing their heavy stomping. Using rudimentary tools the Pokémon try their best to make the crumbling ruins last a little longer. They don’t mind you, they are too fixated on the task entrusted to them centuries ago. Sableye tells you that they are usually non-aggressive, benevolent even. But won’t doubt to attack anyone defacing the ruins.

As you go lower and lower the light sources begin to become scarcer. Beside your flashlight the only thing illuminating these parts of the caves is the energy source burning inside the Goletts. Sableye leads you trough small passages hidden to the unsuspecting travelers, after carefully descending you find yourself in a place that looks completely different to the rest of the ruins.
Ancient machinery keeps running, it’s purpose unclear. Strange, ancient looking crystals emanate light, illuminating faintly the ample iron room. Groups of Goletts are led by Golurks manufactured long ago. Various Golurk stand as guards behind various doors. Sableye says that they are guarding their “nest” a strange room where the Golurks are fabricated. Their leader is located behind one of these guarded doors, he is by far the most knowledgeable of them, but also a hermit that will never leave his room, he is rumored to have been active even before the ruins existed.
The “ancient ones” Who have been active for the longest time are resting near the guarded doors, their materials will be recycled for new generations of Goletts to be made when the time comes-
There are various statues, similar to the Stone Idol you found, they are made of Iron and the group of Pokémon seem to keep them clean and pay special attention to them.
Eli snaps some pictures since “it’s some weird ass, cool looking shit.” She wanders off, captivated by the strange scene.
Big groups of the mons descend to the lower levels carrying big quantities of iron, stone and more tools. Are they building something down there?
>>
>>2971047
Sableye warns you, while they won’t attack you without reason. Interfering in their labor, meddling with them for long periods of time or being a nuisance will cause the Goletts to act in the most logical way of action, to conserve energy and keep being productive. That means, they will forcefully drive you out of here or will eliminate you.

Not all the Goletts are like this, some are more open to chatter and aren’t too controlled by their instructions, some of them even leave the ruins to serve a “master”, or wander around the upper levels.

Now, what should you do?

>Follow the Goletts downstairs, see what they are building.
>Try to get an audience with their leader, you’ll need to convince the guards first.
>Try to sneak past the guards and enter one of the guarded rooms (The room of the “Ancient one”? Or the room where Goletts are made?)
>Try and talk to one of the older Golurks waiting to be recycled (Needs roll to get their attention and interest)

You stand against the pair of tall bulky Golurks. The don't acknowledge your presence, so you get a little bit closer. Trying to not be too intrusive. The glance at you before stating in unison.

[Golurk]: THIS PLACE IS NOT MEANT FOR YOU. TURN BACK

They point to the nearest entrance quickly, before assuming their regular positions. Well, they are doing their jobs as guards, but how could you convince them of letting you in?

>Tell them you just want to conserve the history of this place, since you can understand them. (Requires roll)
>Ask them, what would it take for them to let you in?

Since Golurk have a humanoid figure, you can more or less easily interpret and conduct your ideas trough body languages while mimicking the rumbling sounds they produce.

Percy: I come in the name of the Yellow King! The giant ruler of a Northern settlement!

Percy: I travel the lands with his son, The Prince, in order for him to learn the qualities of a good leader, I would like an audience with the head of your group.
(Prince waves nervously at the pair of Golurk, before shielding himself with you.)

[Golurk#1]: GIANT RULER? A BEHEMOTH?

[Golurk#2]: HE UNDERSTANDS OUR LANGAGUE AND SERVES A BEHEMOTH, THE HUMAN MUST BE AN ENVOY, THE SAME OUR MAKERS FOUGHT ON THE WAR OF THE CRIMSON RIVER.

[Golurk#1]: BUT HE CARRIES CAPTURING DEVICES AND POKÉMON FOLLOW HIM. LIKE OUR MAKERS. THIS IS A PUZZLING SITUATION.

Percy: I assure you I am no threat! I just want to talk a little to your leader.

[Golurk#2]: THEN SO BE IT. THE ANCIENT ONE WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH YOU, YOUNG ENVOY. STEP FORWARD.

The pair of Mons let you pass and direct you to their leader. A long stone halfway leads to a dimly lit room. Its walls are covered by thick and shallow markings made with utmost care, they sort of look like a map? There’s also other markings in the corners of the left and the right door, they are a couple of meters big and seem to connect by a single line to the map of what you think are the ruins. The one in the left resembles a Golurk, but his design seems a bit off, a little too bulky and with more details than the normal one, the other one, at the right, seems like a gate or a door of sorts.

A pair of Goletts pass you by and hurry to the room, at the center there’s a strange Golurk, he looks smaller, more limber than his counterparts, there are various cracks on his body, he seems show signs of rusting, his color has long faded away, his head is also bigger than the usual Golurk, and his stature is barely taller than you, it’s like if he was made to resemble a more “human” appearance.
He makes engraving in stone tablets with dexterity as fast as his hands permits him.
The Goletts tell him something about the construction on the lower levels. He checks various stone tablets, and starts doing what you think are calculations, before giving new orders to the Goletts and returning to his work.

You walk towards him, he’s so engrossed in his work you thin he won’t notice you entering, but you are wrong. Without slowing down for a bit, he speaks.
>>
>>2971503

[Ancient One]: Envoy of a Behemoth. I haven’t seen one of you since that fateful day when our masters were defeated by the tribes of the south.

[Ancient One]: And a “Master” no less. A truly strange existence, just as the Behemoths themselves. But not the strangest one I’ve witnessed by far.

[Ancient One]: What do you wish? My time is limited, so I make the most of it. In the same way, my interest in you is finite, I can answer one, maybe two questions at most.

What do you want to know Percival?

>What are all of you doing here?

Percy: I know of a man who seeks to preserve and understand these ruins. He studies, and cares for them. Archaeology is his passion, and he spends his free time and resources to pursue it!

[Ancient one]: I’m listening. Go on.

Percy: I think he could help your restoration efforts. Would it be okay if I told him about this place, provided he come with his Pokémon for safety?

A moment of quietness, while the Golurk deliberates for a moment.

[Ancient one]: It would be appropriate. We were left only with instructions regarding this place. To build and maintain an unbreakable fortress in order to prepare for the catastrophe our Masters predicted. But the nature of this cataclysm still eludes me. But we keep on building.

[Ancient one]: A deeper understanding of our purpose could help us be more efficient. But if he proves to be a threat he will be eliminated.

Percy:I understand, and I trust that this man won’t cause any trouble to you. By the way, would you be interested in a parlay with the Yellow King? The behemoth Electivire I represent. He's been interested in making connections with other notable, powerful Pokémon….

[Ancient one]: I’m not. This Yellow King. A Behemoth that reigns over others, it’s not someone I want here. We have enough dangerous creatures lurking below. He’s a precarious existence, as benevolent as he can be, a Behemoth that answers to no one has no place here.

[Ancient one]: This place is a shelter, for Masters and Pokémon, a Behemoth that subjugate both is something I was specifically instructed to keep away from here.

[Ancient one]: This meeting has been a fruitful one, you are welcome to return to our chambers. As long as you don’t interfere for long with our work. Now, your time here has ended. Take care, envoy.

Before you go, you describe how Dr.Henry Ford looks so they can let him help with the restoration. A Golurk appears and escorts you back to the entrance.
>>

Eli wanted to duke it out with the Golurks but you took precautions and told her what Sableye said about being a nuisance.
Instead, she’s getting acquainted with her new teammate. While she’s off put by the boisterous Jaws and the Smug Tremor she finds solace in Avenger the Trubbish because of his calm personality. Avenger is drawing the scenery in his little notebook. It has become a “Pokédex” of sorts for Eli.

Eli: Yo! The mons are building a train Weirdo! A train!

Seems like she did some snooping of her own.

You should probably tell about this place to the Gym-Leader, or at the very least his assistant.
Overall you feel like it was a productive day.

You decide to head out, and let the Pokémon work in peace. It's getting late, being around 4:00 pm and you still have to find a place for Sableye and check on Gareth. Also maybe have that rematch with Dick?

Wow, you are busy guy Percival. Also Eli wants to get things ready to leave for our next destination.

Knowing all of that, you venture towards the ruins again, to hold your end of the deal with Sableye.

You muse for a moment about the consequences of your action. You are sure they are for the best.

After wandering for a bit into the ruins you find a good place for Sableye! A small room filled with open iron chests, there's even their keys laying around!

But that's not the only thing in the room. A Trainer you met shortly a couple of hours ago. She makes a face of surprise after seeing you and then one of disgust after seeing Eli. Finally she turns back to the Sableye with a look of anger.

[Bounty-Hunter]: Give me back my stuff you little shit!

She has two Pokéballs in her hands and she seems more than ready to throw down.

Anyone wanna discuss quest lore?

> instructions of sorts to fabricate…something? Walking machines? And what you think are Poké-balls?
>[Dr. Henry Ford]: You see kid, the northern tribes came up with these ancient devices and stuff we are just discovering to this day.
>[Golurk#1]: BUT HE CARRIES CAPTURING DEVICES AND POKÉMON FOLLOW HIM. LIKE OUR MAKERS.
>While the “Master of the Beast” started uniting the tribes at the North

>The one to the left have odd looking primitive armors and are riding different types of Pokémon, they seem to have a leader riding a gigantic Pokémon you don’t quite recognize.
>[Dr. Henry Ford]: The left sides are the northern tribes, united by a single leader who controlled something that probably shouldn’t be controlled by humans. They tamed Pokémon and used them in battle. I’m pretty sure those big soldiers are Golurks created by them.

>The side to the right has different types of armors made to resemble different types of mons. Over them are various flying and what you suppose are dragon types. There’s another gigantic Pokémon you don’t recognize at their side.
>[Dr. Henry Ford]: They waged war against the southern tribes that tried to fend them off, they were aided by another powerful rare mon, as well as the Dragons that inhabit the southern parts of the region, but they don’t seem to have the master-servant relationship of the northern tribes. could it be that they were aided by colossal variations of normal mons or is just artistic liberties?

>In the middle there’s something like a breach? A river? Four strange humanoid figures stand between the armies, three smaller ones and one that looks pretty big, your stone idol resembles them. There’s also something strange about the river or breach, like if there were something dark tainting or hiding inside of it
>[Dr. Henry Ford]: The breach between them is probably Aztlan’s main river that separates the region. I don’t know if the dark parts of the river are a metaphor for the blood spilled by war is, or if it’s something more literal, like if something was hiding down there.
>[Dr. Henry Ford]: I’m still not sure what the figures on the middle are supposed to be, but there are various murals and idols of them scattered around these ruins. Are they objects of worship? Mediators between the armies?

>after the defeat of the Northern tribes and the arrival of the colonizers, what was left of the civilization fled to the desert and made the underground settlement a sort of ancient “bunker” where they planned to rebuild their armies of Goletts and Golurks while expanding the place, digging deeper and deeper in search for something. Maybe they were preparing for a catastrophe or just hiding from the colonizers?
>[Ancient one]: It would be appropriate. We were left only with instructions regarding this place. To build and maintain an unbreakable fortress in order to prepare for the catastrophe our Masters predicted. But the nature of this cataclysm still eludes me.

deepest lore??
>>
>>2974517

I’m not a pro at worldbuilding myself, but I can give a couple of tips.

1: Get a central idea for the regions, give it a shape, a coherent one if possible, or not, you can do whatever you want with it.
Then slowly fill it up with central and relevant locations, those can serve as the starting points to slowly build places of interest surrounding them that fit that original idea.
For example, the thought process for Ibarra Village was a little like
Ruins-> Ruins in a desert -> Small town focused on archeology -> Archeologist Gym Leader, Market stalls, caves hiding treasures, Dodrio racing, old-timey saloons, C&D posts for bounty hunters, bounty hunters, etc.

2: Make every place worth visiting, be it with landmarks, characters, events, dangers, promises of progress, etc. Make sure every place has the tools necessary to write engaging scenarios.

3: Have a lot of resources at hand but don’t delve deep on everything, a lot of stuff you may come up with, can be completely ignored by your players. Or a simple one-note thing can become an important part of the journey for them. Cities, towns and routes are more than one sole trait. But there should be something that predominates in them.

4: Try to get as much variety regarding Pokémon as you can. And rare Pokémon should remain as that, rare. But don’t be afraid to throw your players a bone sometimes, then make them fight for that bone. Or have convince the metaphorical bone of following them, or have them fight with other npcs or between themselves for the bone, or make it a long term investment in a shitty bone that will become a great bone in the future.

5: Avoid too much water? Unless that's what you are going for, if that's the case, fill it water, drown them.

Are you getting ideas for potential future trainers or trainer classes from playing Clover?

Also, time for a bonus write-in. Sorry for being late with it, kind of swamped lately.

The Bounty hunter looks pissed, you ask the Sableye what she took from her, maybe you can clear this without resorting to more fighting. But Sableye already ate the Fire Stone he snatched!

[Bounty-Hunter]:Little “Hidden Ability” bastard! I’m going to fetch a good price for you at the trades…

Eli: You ain’t catching shit, we are protecting the little guy.

[Bounty-Hunter]: Would you look at that, I get to finish kicking your ass, get my stone back, plus all the other things that runt is carrying, and get a sweet hidden ability mon to trade. Not bad at all.

Eli: Bring it on!

The two girls seem to be ready to battle at any moment, Pokéballs in hand, the Bounty Hunter isn’t letting Sableye out of her gaze.

What do?

>Let them duke it out, you’ll help Sableye escape
>Battle alongside Eli, so the Bounty Hunter can stop focusing on Sableye
>Try to disarm the situation, maybe we can talk it out? (Needs roll, write-ins can help)

The two girls release their Pokémon. Roars of the mons ready to battle are accompanied but the voices of their trainers flinging petty insults to one another. You take the chance to grab Sableye with your functioning arm and get out of there.

Your mons soon follow, while Houndour Mimikyu and Vulpix would have no problem running past you, or even Kadabra with his teleporting, they have to pace themselves to wait for you, and Loudred carrying both the unconscious Aron and Prince.

You are hearing something behind you, quick steps and barks that become louder and louder. It's blue fur and yellow mane. It's Manectric! Probably the Bounty Hunter's Pokémon. And he's way faster than you.

What do?

>Give Sableye to someone so they can escape while the rest slow Manectric down
>Try to teleport somewhere safe, Kadabra has trouble teleporting too many people at once so you'll have to get your mons in their balls first to do it.

The Manectric is quickly catching up to you, there's probably no way for you to avoid him. But you can get his target further away from him.

Houndour could carry the mon to safety on his back, he doesn't know the ruins very well so he would get back to the exit or try to hide somewhere near it. Kadabra could teleport, but since he's a Dark Type it's a little difficult to use his powers on him even if he's willing.

Who's taking Sableye?

You put Sableye over Houndour, the Ghost/ Dark type holds tightly to your partner as he starts ramping up the speed. Manectric is mere meters away from you and the rest of your team. He's seems just a little faster than Houndour and has no extra weight slowing him down.

Sparks surround Manectric body as he rushes in, he's preparing a Thunder Wave to stop you and your team from interrupting!

Vulpix prepares an Ice Shard, Loudred charges her Ice Beam while shielding Aron and Prince with her arms, Mimikyu goes for a Shadow Sneak to trip Manectric.

Roll to slow him down and not get paralyzed!

Best of three!

>60: your team gets paralyzed but at least he stopped rushing for Houndour.

Vulpix Ice Shard hits Manectric causing some light damage, just as he's about to unleash his Thunder Wave Mimikyu trips him using his appendages, he failed to get his attack out! Loudred shoots her Ice Beam barely missing Manectric as he gets up as soon as he cans to avoid the attack and gets a little bit of distance between the two of you.

He has no plans to stay and fight you, his trainer ordered to get Sableye over everything else.

He singles out Vulpix, getting in position to lunge at her as fast as possible. He seems ready to use a Quick Attack. He'll probably try to keep running using the momentum gained from the move.

Think fast Percy!

Defensive Approach, we just need to keep it from leaving.

Have Loudred hand you Prince, this can be a learning experience for him too. We can teach him about battle tactics and commanding.
>>
>>2983332

Alright, Mimikyu took the chance to restrict his movements using his appendages, slowing him down quite a bit, but he's having trouble holding him down.

Vulpix prepares to attack with a confuse ray, even if she gets the attack after Manectric she'll definitely hit him!
DC:6

Meanwhile Kadabra gets ready to poison the electric mon, slapping his health little by little should give Houndour a clear advantage over him.
DC: 7

Meanwhile Loudred prepares an Ice Beam, she's slower than the rest of the mon so her attack's success could depend on what happens next.

Manectric rushes at Vulpix, Mimikyu tries to hold him down but he's too strong, still it slows him enough for Vulpix to use confuse ray! Just as Manectric attack hits Vulpix and sends her out of his way, her confuse ray disorients the Manectric.

Kadabra follows up hurling the noxious toxins out of his mouth, slathering his knife which he throws at the electric type, cutting his skin and poisoning him.

>Manectric is now confused and poisoned!

Still, he's trying to get away, Loudred has charged her attack, she let's her Ice beam out trying to hit Manectric legs, but the Pokémon, even in this state is easily faster than her.

CRIT FAIL.

Loudred attack misses completely, and our attacker flees. Still the Manectric is not in good shape to be searching for Houndour.
You can still hear Eli and the Bounty Hunter battling back there.

Vulpix took some damage from that Quick attack, but she can keep going without much problem. She has around two thirds of her health left. All of your other Pokémon are unscathed.

What do?

>Try to catch up to Manectric and finish him up

Kadabra starts concentrating, trying to pin down Manectric location in the midst of the various thoughts filling these ruins.

....
"Man, I'm hungry....Shit I need to evolve soon.... An underground river?! How could I miss this?......Bubblegum-Haired bitch!.....Stupid Gym Leader, I just want my damn badge!.....I should get a Wooper....I'LL FUCKING EAT YOU......The poison, it hurts, hard to move straightforward, but this shouldn't slow me down .....

Alright found it, Kadabra has located him, you get your Pokémon in your Pokéballs, except for Aron who's resting on the ground. This shouldn't be too hard. You may even get a chance to get a surprise hit in!

Suddenly, in a blink. you find yourself alongside Kadabra and Aron in a different part of the ruins, you aren't sure where you are but you can hear the growls and hurried steps of Manectric coming this way.

There are various empty rooms in the ample hallway where you are standing and it's too dark for Manectric to see you, it's perfect for an ambush.

Inside one of the rooms you let your team out and prepare to engage Manectric.

The confused Pokémon tries his best to maintain his balance leaning from left to right while running, wobbling he's not hard to hit.

Mimikyu trips him again and deals some damage with Shadow Sneak, this let's your other mons use some heavier attacks on the blue canine. An "Extrasensory" and "Confusion" combo messes with his perception even further while dealing some notable damage. Manectric is now an easy target for Loudred who shoots her Ice Beam straight into the mon's body.

The poison damages even further, Manectric is in no condition to fight. He's pretty resilient but the barrage of attacks plus the damage of the toxins is enough to deal with him.

>Manectric is knocked out!

The electric type lays unconscious in the ground, he sniffs occasionally, seems like he was using "Odor Sleuth" to locate Houndour and Sableye.

[Vulpix]: He didn’t stand a chance against me!

[Prince]: That wasn’t really a fight though, we kind of ganged up on him? He didn’t seem particularly affected by Vulpix attacks

[Vulpix]: Eh?! Did you say something yellow fatty?

[Prince]: N-no..

[Loudred]: Hey! He’s not fat, he’s just a little big like his father!

[Mimikyu]: The threat has been dealt with, and that’s all that matters. Do you need further assistance Master?

[Kadabra]: He was following our companion, so we should be more or less near the two.

[Loudred]: Should we let him lay down here? I feel kind of bad for it, I mean we all attacked at the same time. Maybe we should take him with his trainer?

Kadabra takes his time to communicate with Houndour and Sableye, they are near here so they don’t take long to return, they seem pretty fine, but Houndour is a little winded up, he wants to rest a little.
What should you do?

Loudred smiles at Prince before getting Manectric on her back, while carrying Aron with one hand.

As you walk to the room you can hear the sounds of a battle about to end. Tremor is standing smugly with a shit-eating grin over a knocked out Breloom. The Bounty Hunter seems furious, Eli is smiling confidently.

Eli: What were you saying about me and my team huh?

[Jaws]: THAT’S WHAT YOU GET FOR MESSING WITH US BRUH

[Jaws]: ANALLY ANNIHILATED

Eli: Weirdo! You are back! You missed some sick ass battle!

Percy: I think we should all calm down for a moment....

Percy:Yeah, about that. He ate your stuff... Also, I kind of caught him already.

[Bounty Hunter]:Well, someone is going to pay for this, and since he's your mon. I think the responsibility falls onto you. Don't worry I'm not unreasonable, and you brought back my Pokémon so you should be a decent fellow.

It seems logical there would be a loophole like this in the law in order to prevent trainers who capture mischievous pokemon like haunter or those who steal things (Example: Purrloin commonly use their cuteness to rob people blind as stated in the pokedex entry). Otherwise there would be way to much legal chaos around people who capture those mons as people their newly captured pokemon messed with would come crawling out of the woodwork demanding compensation.

Or maybe it's an automated process that an empty ball goes through when it changes hands or the trainer ID has the function itself to allow trading or using empty balls you didn't purchase in stores.
Not to mention if the balls did indeed have this function then wouldn't they also be able to lock up when used by the wrong trainer or someone without a trainer ID?
If not, it also means any ball you find is effectively useless to you or something you must turn in to the authorities, because if anybody can use them, then a lost Pokeball is basically like finding a lost gun: some guy can just use it to catch a mon and then use said mon to commit a crime in your name and then discard the ball, and when the coppers show up to investigate they'll immediately track down the actual owner by using the ball, effectively throwing them off the trail.
Malicious people can also just steal someone's pokeballs and then use them.

This girl, she’s trying to get advantage of this situation even after losing. Her case may be compelling to the ears of the usual trainers. But as most things regarding Pokémon, you are no stranger to Poké-Law

Percy: Ahem… (You clear your throat)

Percy: ACCORDING TO ARTICLE 34, SECTION 2 OF AZTLAN NATIONAL CONSTITUTION

Percy: Since Sableye wasn’t in my possession when he committed such acts, I’m in no way legally required pay in any form of compensation!

You are sure to impress with your ample knowledge of anything Pokémon related!

The Bounty Hunter looks at you thoroughly confused, and then to Eli who just shrugs.

[Bounty-Hunter]: And here I was thinking I could meet the actual Arsonist. Instead I’m stuck with discount-store Punk and her scrawny nerd boyfriend.

[Bounty-Hunter]: You could do way better than her.

[Bounty-Hunter]: Alright, it doesn’t manner. My job here is finished anyway.

She returns her Pokémon to their balls before getting out of the room.

>Your argument convinced the Bounty hunter!
>The room is now free for Sableye to take!
>Sableye considers you a friend and a trustworthy human
>Relationship with Bounty Hunter [???]

Eli:Whew, what a bitch

Eli: Man, I'm beat.Yo I'm gonna go back to pack my stuff and hang out a little with our newest crew member. Whatchu gonna do?

Before you can answer, the Aron you have been carrying finally wakes up.

[Aron]: Huh? Where am I? Hey let go of me!

He seems confused and a little pissed. After explaining what happened he calms down a bit.

[Aron]: You should have let me asleep man, that was such a sweet spot to rest.

[Aron]: Well, what do you want? if we are done here I would like to get back to my room

Percy: You could stay at my place, my room is up for the taking, you’ll get a roof over your head, a bed and food. Doesn’t sound too bad right?

[Aron]: An actual bed sounds nice, I’ve only heard stories of them. But wait, is your house in one of those big human settlements with tall houses and roaring vehicles?

Percy: Yeah, I live in a city, why?

Aron muses for a moment, unsure of what decision to make.

[ [Aron]: Sorry man, I like the peace and quiet of the ruins, besides the usual Pokémon getting into my room, this place is pretty chill.

[Aron]: I’m a free spirit man. Thanks for not catching me when I was unconscious. But my room is MY room. See you later.

The Aron starts walking back to his place. He napped long enough so a meal is in order. This is the second Pokémon that outright rejects you since you started this journey, but well, you barely even knew them.

>Aron is amicable to you, but he doesn’t want to be caught!

Eli: Eh, don’t worry weirdo, you win some, you lose some. I heard there’s tons of them near Silverpoint, ya know? At the old mines.

Well, that’s done. What are you gonna do next? Is around 5:00 pm

You’ll go back to the police station to see if Gareth has been found already, Eli would come but she doesn’t want to get near there since she was arrested a couple of hours ago.
On your way to the station you answer Dick to accept his challenge.

Dick: Finally, you kept me waiting long enough.

Percy: Sorry man, I’ve been a little busy today with the gym and the ruins.

Dick: Irrelevant, this shall be the conditions of the match, I expect your arrival soon.

You’ll met Dick after going to the station at the outskirts of town, he wants a 4 vs 4 battle to test his team in Double battles.

>After checking on Gareth you’ll battle Richard.

You enter the police station, seems like the officers already found your friend and brought him back a while ago. Beside a couple of light bruises, he seems alright,

He’s currently drinking some coffee alongside Lydia and Officer Miller, describing his captors, they got almost all of them but one managed to escape. The White Veil employee looks really worried, almost as much as Bug Man who’s resting on Gareth’s shoulder.
[Gareth]: Hey, Percy my man! Thanks for giving them a heads up, I thought I was done for!

But, before he narrates how he almost got a Tri-Beam to the face from a murderous Dodrio, you take a moment to reminiscence for a moment for what the Bounty Hunter said.

Oh god, just thinking about dating makes you scared. How does that even work? There's no mating calls or rituals, or a rational studied courtship process! You can't just build a kickass nest or search for shiny stones.

But, maybe if it's with Eli it could work out?

And you are not scrawny and you'll prove so! You should join your mons in your training, getting some more exercise in your day-to-day wouldn't be bad.
------------------------------------------------

Gareth finds himself tied to a chair, surrounded by a trio of thugs, and a Dodrio looking menacingly at the young man while one of the men holds his Pokémon, the Wimpod struggles to release himself from his captors to no avail.

[Shady-looking guy]: Alright, now you are gonna tell us how you pulled that trick at the races, or the Wimpod gets it!

[Gareth]: Bugman is innocent, let him go! We didn’t do anything I swear!

[Tired looking criminal]: It’s not working boss, Dodrio pecked the guy for 30 minutes now but he won’t squeal.

[Shady-looking guy]: Alright, enough of this. You got two options smart-guy. Either you talk or you get a Tri-beam to your head. Dodrio!

The Pokémon gets near Gareth, his three heads surround the trainer. Two of them start producing sparks and embers.

[Gareth]: I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS DODRIO! WE RACED TOGETHER! WE WON TOGETHER!

[Dodrio]: Sorry man. I’m just doing my job.

The Dodrio responds with his third mouth before preparing a cold beam of energy. He’s about to shoot the trainer before something interrupts the criminals.

A Stoutland breaks the door while other points a Fully-Charged Hyper-Beam at them. Two officer enter the room hurriedly, pointing their guns to the trio of criminals.

[Officer:] HANDS IN THE AIR AND POKÉMON IN THEIR BALLS!

[Shady-Looking guy]: Shit, it’s the fuzz! (The man jumps through the window). The rest, and Dodrio want to follow but they are stopped by the other Stoutland “Thunderwave”, which paralyzes the two criminals, Dodrio, Bugman and Gareth.

................................

[Gareth]: I thought they would gouge my eyes out for a moment.

[Lydia]: They didn't hurt you badly?

[Gareth]: Oh, not really. I got some cuts from the pecking but nothing serious.

[Lydia]: You had me worried sick as soon as I heard you were missing.

Bugman can't contain his emotions and it's just crying into Gareth shoulders.

After Officer Miller finishes his questioning Gareth decides to join you for a bit, to check out your battle. Lydia would like to come but they are calling for her back at the lab.

Dick is waiting for you in the location he settled for, he seems restless and impatient, like if something was troubling him. His team is already out.

Alexandro uses Dragon Dance successfully raising his attack and speed.

He tries to make some distance, but he's too late. Loudred realeses a cloud of toxic gasses that the Dragon type inhales, he's been badly poisoned! Alexandro seems surprised, and Loudred takes the opportunity to trip him using her arms.

Alexandro is currently in the ground in a pretty bad spot.

Mimikyu successfully uses Double team, but while he starts zipping around the ground and leaving various afterimages around raising his evasion. He's hit by a surprise "confusion" by one of Zoroaster's afterimages. His costume is takes the hit.

Mimikyu slashes at what he thinks is the real Kirlia just to completely miss him. His claw passes through causing no real damage.

Zoroaster lets out sharp, but strangely pleasant cry. Loudred seems completely unaffected by it, since she probably has "Soundproof". BUt you can see it affecting MImikyu pretty badly, it's a CRIT, the attack in itself isn't really strong, but as a CRIT plus the STAB, it's enough to take away almost half of his health, taking away around 2/5 of his health.

Loudred let's her Ice Beam out a split second before Alexandro releases his Flamethrower, he puts his all in the attack but it's not nearly enough to stop or even weather Loudred attack.

Zoroaster manages to heal Alexandro with his heal pulse, the dragon type Mimikyu locates Zoroaster between all the afterimages and quickly strikes at him, but Alexandro gets in the way, jumping towards Mimikyu with his enhanced speed, his surprising movements help Zoroaster avoid the Shadow Claw!

Alexandro comes down slashing with reckless abandon at Mimikyu's afterimages. Trying to follow the real mon's movements to no avail, Mimikyu barely manages to avoid any damage!

Loudred takes advantage of the winded Bagon who takes a split second to recompose himself and launches a devastating Ice Beam bigger than her body. It's a CRIT no doubt. Alexandro has no chance to move away and is hit fully, the atack sends him crashing down into the ground, even after being healed he's really hurt, and the poison isn't helping him. He's on his last legs. Any attack could do him in!

Dick switches him for his Golett Prometheus who strikes at Mimikyu with a Shadow Punch! His punch is heavy and Super effective, leaving Mimikyu in a pretty bad state, he won't last another attack. For some reason he seemed to ignore all of Mimikyu's afterimage and went straight for the real one. Could he have "No Guard" as an ability or did he just get lucky?

Loudred releases the toxic cloud of gasses, judging by Zoroaster coughing the poison must be filling his lungs. But that doesn't stop him from using Hypnosis! A psychic energy wave covers Loudred and sends her into a deep state of sleep. She may stay like this for 2 to 5 rounds.

Percy: Come on Loudred! It’s no time to rest! You can’t hear the crowd cheer for you if you are asleep!

You quickly look at Gareth and his team, signaling them to play the part.

[Gareth]: Go Loudred! You can do it!
[Bug-man]: You got this girl!
[Sand-Rider]:SHOW THEM WHO’S THE STRONGEST, PURPLE WARRIOR!

[Loudred]: Huh?

Your words and the cheering seem to help her wake up, she slowly starts to blink a little disoriented, you tell her to use Ice Beam on Golett but she has no chance to do so as she es struck by a confusion before she fully wakes up.

Mimikyu manages to track Zoroaster down and unleashes his attack, his appendage follows him, shifting from afterimage to afterimage, waiting for the perfect chance to strike and doing so! The attack isn’t as powerful as it should have, partly because of Zoroaster moving in the nick of time, but you can see that the Kirlia is heavily damage from the super effective attack, almost down to half his health!

While Mimikyu attacks, Prometheus draws near with his heavy steps and finishes the distracted Mimikyu with a nasty Shadow Punch that sends the ghost mon covered in rags tumbling down,

With that strike Mimikyu has been knocked down!

>Mimikyu is down for the count, Loudred lost a fourth of her life from that confusion

>Houndour: Successful pass!
>Loudred: CRIT

Houndour focuses solely on attacking Zoroaster, he starts chasing after his afterimages, using his senses of smell, hearing and sight to pinpoint Zoroaster exact location. Once he does it he chomps down on the Kirlia!

Zoroaster is in a critical state and only manages to get a weakened "Confusion" out before the poison does him in.

>Zoroaster has been knocked out!

Ankhati the Cacnea takes his place as the Kirlia returns to his Pokéball.

The confusion lightly damages Loudred, but she toughs it up, Prometheus tries to finish her off with a certain-hit Dynamic Punch, but your mon reacts just in time, unleashing a gigantic Ice Beam that envelopes Prometheus completely.

A super effective CRIT is more than enough to send the inharmed Golett into a critical state, he's barely hanging in there, he knows he won't last another attack so he wants to make this last moment count.

Being at a clear disadvantage, Dick has to take a moment off from commanding his mons to use an item to heal Alexandro.

Nor Ankhati or Prometheus stop fighting, their sights focus on the most dangerous of their opponents. Loudred, they want to bring her down however they can.

The cotton spores give Prometheus the opportunity to hit Loudred with Dynamic Punch! His attack is heavy, breaking past Loudred defenses. With her last moments of consciousness Loudred shoots a last Ice Beam to the Golett. Her attack is considerably weaker than usual but it's enough to knock out the damaged Prometheus.

>Loudred and Prometheus have been knocked out.

Houndour catches up to Ankhati, blasting him with raging flames that completely cover Dick's side of the battlefield. Cacnea has nowhere to escape, it's a CRIT!
>Boosted damage from Offensive Approach
>Boosted damage from the Charcoal

A single attack is more than enough to finish Ankhati. Dick seems a tad frustrated, but at the very least he managed to heal up his Bagon with a Full restore.

The situation doesn't look good for him, he's down to his last Pokémon and can't use anymore items.

>Vulpix: Successful pass!

The chilling breeze blows through Alexandro's body, the attack hurt him, but not enough to fully stop him, he can continue to fight with not much problem.

Smalls bits of ice form around his arm, legs and body, his speed is reduced making it easier for Houndour to hit him with the purplish noxious substance produced from his mouth.

Alexandro manages to react in time, wiping off the purplish liquid from his scales before it enters his body. He wasn't fast enough to completely avoid the poisoning but the effects of the toxins could take a while to actually damage him.

Alexandro chomps down on Vulpix's body with a Fire Fang, her weak defenses are completely pulverized by the strong maw of the Dragon. He lifts Vulpix with his mouth and keeps pressing down onto her, he looks at Houndour trying to provoke him before spitting Vulpix into the ground. She's in a pretty bad state but still has enough strength left to move out of Alexandro's reach.

Dick: What are you doing? You let her go! You could had finished her right there you stupid lizard!

[Alexandro]: Silence Human, your judgement is clouded by your thoughts. I’ll take it from here. SHIVER AT MY OVERWHELMING BATTLE TACTICS

Houndour braces himself, trying to weather the damage from the super-effective move. He tenses his body as the stones falls onto him, he suffered damage but not nearly as much as he would usually receive from an attack like that, only losing a fourth of his health. He gets the Bagon with a Flamethrower, it's not very effective but the burning flames still scorch the dragon's body!

Vulpix barely dodges the rocks, having no opportunity to catch her breath and attack. She can still continue but you can see some heavy damage on her body, another attack, even if it's not particularly strong could finish this bout for her.

Alexandro hurks slightly, seems like the toxins are finally getting to him. causing some light damage.

Bagon keeps running towards Vulpix, he's seems to be trying to get a Headbutt, but his aim seems a little off. Vulpix is fully concentrated on getting that Icy Wind in after the Bagon is pinned down.

DC: 7 (5 if Houndour succeeds)

But it's hard to only hit Alexandro, even if the attack doesn't hurt Houndour too much, he may take some damage if Vulpix isn't careful and she is behaving pretty recklessly right now.

>Houndour: Successful pass!
>Vulpix: CRIT

Houndour catches up to the Bagon, tackling before delivering a CRUNCH to his back. The Dragon type doesn't waste any time to bash his head against the ground during the fall. He's trying to use "Rock Slide" once again! But his attack is weaker than last time because of his disadvantageous position. Houndour drives his bite deep into Alexandro. Vulpix calms herself down enough to alert Houndour before she launches her attack.

[Vulpix]: GET OUT OF THERE, I’M FINISHING THIS!

[Houndour] (muffled) Alright.

Mustering all of her rage she unleashes an intense storm of cold violent winds. Houndour has to move fast to make enough distance to avoid it. More than an Icy wind it looks like a "Blizzard", Alexandro has no chance to escape. The shivering cold covers almost all off the battlegrounds, freezing the grounds and rock laying by. Houndour finds himself slightly damaged from it while Alexandro lets out a furious roar with all of his remaining strength before losing consciousness.

[Vulpix]: I DID IT! I FINALLY DID IT TRAINER!

Vulpix celebration is suddenly interrupted by the rocks falling into her head, Houndour manages to weather the damage enough to remain in good condition.

You go catch up to the trainer, something seems to be nagging him since the moment he sawy you bracelet, maybe you could lend an ear to him, afterall you are in a similar situation.

Percy: Hey, Dick! Wait a minute!

Dick: What’s the matter Percival? I thought our wager was adequate. If you wanted more, you should clarify it before battle.

Percy: No, it’s not about that. I just wanted to talk a little, man to man, trainer to trainer, human being to human being. You’ve seemed really shaken up after you saw the bracelet and at the dinner, like an orphaned Cubone who just found his mother’s skull, so I thought...

Dick:Percival, I appreciate your interest but my problems are personal. You are overestimating our familiarity

Percy:C’mon man, we are kinda in the same boat, at least come grab a bite with us to clear your head. That’s the kind of things human friends do for each other, no?

Dick: Friends?.....We are friends? (He’s not being sarcastic, he genuinely seems quite puzzled and surprised by this claim)

Percy:Yeah? Or at least we are kind of becoming friends? Sorry, I’m not sure if I’m on the right track for this, the mystery of human kinship still eludes me.

Percy:….Wait, you aren’t good with this social stuff either are you?

Dick:I have decent social skills! I just, haven’t gotten much practice with them, I got other objectives to accomplish!

Dick:Well if you are so insistent of knowing, you are right Percival, I’m not in my best mental condition. And how could I?

Dick:My childhood friend finally talked to me for more than 20 seconds and she spiels all this nonsense about little Vicky’s Psychic powers, and how I lost my memories from the shock of almost being eviscerated. And as much as I wanted to doubt her I knew, in the back of my mind that she was telling the truth.

Dick:And I thought maybe it’s the moment to patch things up, start anew and then she just…..

Dick: She made clear I’m just a nuisance to her, an obstacle at best. She doesn’t even believe our friendship was “real”, calling it a “set-up” by our parents. I don’t even know which part of the whole thing bothers me the most.

Percy:Man, I know I’m not the best to talk about this but. You know how Nidokings and Nidoqueens in the wild have only one partner for their whole lives?

Dick: Sure, I knew that fact.

Percy:Well, we aren’t Nidokings. Sadly, it would be pretty cool to be a Nidoking. But the point is, ehm there are more Water-Types in the sea? I mean just look at this!

Dick: If you are going to show me more shameless pornography I’m leaving.

>You’ve been talking with Dick about Poké-girls this entire time

Dick: I’m not sure. The Kirlia theme she used felt a tad overused, we already had a Gardevoir and Ralts themed set last year. It wasn’t bad but I was expecting something different.

Percy: I liked it, I mean it’s a pretty safe option, while attracting a certain niche. What about this summer set? The Milotic one?

Dick: That was a good one. Such elegance! Not too flashy nor crude, a truly artful piece for a swimsuit session.

[Alexandro]: Nothing beats the Dragonair set. You two have no taste.

Eli: You two seem pretty chummy, what are you talking about?

Percy:Eh….

Dick: Nothing.

Everyone orders their food, Gareth is paying so you don't have to worry about expenses. Even Eli usual aggressiveness towards Dick is limited to some light banter, she's in a pretty good mood after defeating the Bounty Hunter.

Gareth and Lydia are engrossed on one another, casually flirting sometimes. You switch between talking to Eli and Dick, he’s being more talkative than usual and Eli is just being Eli.

Eli:Yo, so what’s everyone doing next? I was thinking of going to Madeleine town tonight or tomorrow, there we’ll have plenty of options of where to go.

[Gareth]: Honestly I was just planning to tag along for a while, oh right, I got some tickets for a Pro-match at the capital, it’s in a week so we could go there.

[Lydia]: I wish I could travel again, those were good days, but I’m stuck at the labs for another week, then they’ll move around to somewhere else.

You take this chance to invite Dick of joining your travelling group, even if it’s just for a little while. He agrees without giving it much thought.

Dick: It would be most appropriate, I’m challenging the gym tomorrow morning, after that we can get everything ready to depart.

After some more bantering you ask Gareth about the tickets, he says he got them from a friend he knew from college, they shared some classes and somehow became acquaintances despite his initial dislike for Gareth. He says he’s a pretty chill dude, even tough he can be kind of a jerk sometimes, big into contest and even bigger into battling. They still talk from time to time.

You spend the rest of the evening just chilling with your friends. Gareth and Lydia are the first to go, Gareth leaves the money on the table and goes for a walk with Lydia, seems like they are going to say a last good-bye to each other. Dick is also quite tired and says he’s going back to his hotel room to plan a strategy to battle the Gym Leader, Eli decides to camp it out today, get some rest and make a training regimen for tomorrow onwards.

Kadabra seems very confused about your fixation with Poké-girls, he doesn’t get the appeal and is actually very intrigued by it. He asks you to examine your phone for a while.
Vulpix is feeling proud of her victory and doesn’t waste a second to show it. Boasting about it to all of your team, Houndour tells her to stop it since she’s being a nuisance but you can see he’s a little bit happy for her.

What are you gonna do tonight?

>Payed $1,000 for the room!

You decide to stay at the motel one last time, spend some quality time with your mons. You hand Kadabra your phone and briefly explain how it works, he’s seems pretty interested by it, especially in the web browser.

[Kadabra]: So much information, so little time…

He seems to be having a field day with it, focusing on the subjects of the origins of human civilization and ancient history, as well as theories on human behavior and relationships. You’ll remind yourself to charge it once he’s done with it.

Elekid is interested on what Kadabra’s doing, but he feels a little intimidated by the big psychic Pokémon, who’s reading way too fast for the Elekid, instead he settles by watching some TV, he’s flipping through the channels trying to find something interesting, Loudred reminds him that he needs to sleep early as he is still a pup growing up.

Mimikyu is busy mending his costume as he does every night, he has a little trouble using his appendages to sew and get his fake head in place, it’s a little hard to do so without removing his costume. Loudred offers to help but her hands are too big for the task, but Mimikyu appreciates the sentiment.

[Houndour]: Why do you keep that old rag around?

[Mimikyu]: My appearance can be mostly disconcerting to humans and most Pokémon. Besides it’s practical in battle.

[Vulpix]: You are disconcerting even with that cloth on. Hey trainer. About my victory…

[Vulpix]: Don’t you think I deserve to evolve already? I mean you saw that last attack! It was practically a Blizzard!

[Houndour]: Don’t let a single victory get to your head, Loudred defeated two mons by herself and you don’t see her rubbing it in everyone’s faces. She’s been pulling her weight from the start.

[Loudred]: Aw, you are embarrassing me bro.
(She says while smiling a little shyly)

[Houndour]: I’m just stating the obvious, someone should learn more from her “sis”.

[Vulpix]: I could do just as much! Just wait and see!

Houndour is tired from today and goes directly to sleep. Loudred still has energy, she starts doing some pushups since she doesn’t want to neglect her Physical strength after relying so much in her special attacks. She thinks she could go for a jog before sleeping.

Vulpix jumps into the bed, she seems torn between bullying Prince or grooming herself.

What should you do?
>Go with Loudred for a nightly-jog, accompany her while she exercises
>Help Mimikyu sew his costume, talk a little with the mon
>Maybe Vulpix would like some help with her grooming? You got a brush at hand.

A whisper in the back of your mind

Since she gave him that charm you cannot meddle with his mind anymore. Only observe, his encounters and experiences spark in you so much curiosity, you truly desire to be on his place.

But you are a mere spectator, trapped in a cell.
Why would he take away your role as an actor? Those artificial, ancient Pokémon. They seem so intriguing. How you wish you could take them apart, examining their components, their inner workings. You know he is also interested in them! But why does he lack the same desires you feel? Doesn’t he know that the best way to learn is with hands-on experience?’

That’s what your father taught you at least.

You’ve been watching the other two as well. The boy doesn’t seem to remember you, they are “holes” in his thoughts, missing patches who he has filled with senseless noise, but her, she made him remember, and at the same time, evoked those faraway memories in you.

You’ve never tried to use your abilities in that same way, not in humans at least. Father explained you how troublesome it could be for him and you.

Since your powers are restricted to only observing, you tried with no avail to communicate with him again, but the charm doesn’t let you in. you liked when he answered, even if it was short, it made you feel less alone. You’ve sent various messages that will never arrive at their destination. Fueled by boredom, by anger, by loneliness. They just bounce and become lost in the endless sea of emptiness, where lost ideas float around. Since these thoughts aren’t bound to you, they drift aimlessly. Sometimes they even come back, in the form of an almost silent whisper.

Recently, you’ve been hearing more “whispers” than usual. But they aren’t yours. They are strange. Unlike anything else you’ve heard before. Not human in any form. They resonate in the back of your brain filling your mind. They are deep and grave, indecipherable, but you know they don’t lack meaning.

You sent as many messages you could, without no real destination, to every corner possible. They pass unnoticed by other’s subconscious. A simple message. “Hello”.

Tonight, you finally got a response. From the endless void comes forth a salutation, it’s forms and presence shake you to your very core. It’s impotent, obscure, and it feels like it could swallow you whole.

[???]: HELLO

Maybe you aren’t as alone as you initially thought.

Spend some time with Prince

You go out of the room with Loudred and Prince, he grumbled a little since he just wanted to chill back at the motel, but you insisted that some exercise could do him good. Mimikyu and Kadabra are in charge while you are out.

It’s a peaceful night outside, the streets are empty, besides the usual stray-Pokémon digging through the trash or sleeping on the sidewalk, some Murkrows resting on the telephone poles
It’s not hard to match Loudred’s speed, since she’s not as fast the rest of your team or Kadabra. you and your Pokémon do some laps around the block, Prince who’s still not used to training gets too winded so Loudred has carry him.

You take the chance to ask Loudred who’s she been doing with her evolution, she seems pretty fine with it but you would like to know how she feels, since a sudden change like that could be pretty overwhelming for such a young Pokémon. Even if she doesn’t look like it, Loudred is barely older than Prince by various weeks, a couple of months at best.

Loudred says that while she misses a little being the “small one” of the group, her newfound strength has made battling even more fun. Especially since she can loosen up a little while fighting, she still has some trouble moderating her strength, she tries to be extra-careful around you and her teammates, keeping herself calm, especially with Vulpix’s provocations.

Finally, you stop near the motel for Loudred to do some arm strengthening workout. You and Prince are a little winded up from the running, and even if you would like to join her in her exercise, your arm is still messed up.
Prince stands near Loudred counting her reps. Of all of your team, Prince only seems to be comfortable around Loudred, when you ask him why is that he tells you that she’s always looking out for him so she makes him feel safe.

>Prince has trouble interacting with other Pokémon, besides his “Big-sis”

>Loudred has trouble moderating her strength, which makes her hold back most of the time.
>>
>>2992322
As a trainer this is pretty concerning, how should you approach them?

>Starting tomorrow you’ll help Loudred train to moderate her strength, so she can have a better control of herself
>You’ll help Loudred stop holding back altogether, maybe if she knows the limits of her strength she could adapt a little better
>You are sure she can do this on her own, you’ll keep focusing on training her battling capabilities as usual.
>Other/ write-in

And regarding little Prince.
>Maybe it’s time to push him to start socializing more with the rest of your team, but you should start slowly.
>Ask Loudred to keep looking out for the little guy, she’s been doing a great job so far.

Need to know where the limit is before moderation. She might be able to do a lot more in situations if she knows what she can actually do

>Maybe it’s time to push him to start socializing more with the rest of your team, but you should start slowly.
>Ask Loudred to keep looking out for the little guy, she’s been doing a great job so far.
He's still young. Get him a bit more comfortable with the mons around him that he'll need to rely on in battle. We can start training him like we did with Vulpix though just not full on battling yet.

It’s decided, you’ll help Loudred reach her limits next training sessions, once she and you know what she’s really capable of doing she should have a better grasp of her power and maybe that could help her control it. She trusts you, if you keep her in check she thinks she could stop holding back altogether!
>New training regime with Loudred: reach her limits.

You also tell her she’s been doing a good job as Elekid’s big sis, and you wanted to know if she could keep looking out for him, while he gets accustomed to the others. You’ll try to get him to socialize a little more with his teammate, after all he will need to rely on them in battle and vice versa. You could try to include him in training sessions, partnering him with someone could be a good idea! Houndour would be a good pick, as the two of them are on this journey for similar reasons.

Percy: Hey Prince, you know what would be good for you?

[Prince]: Not being bullied by Vulpix? A mother-figure? A hat like the gym leader’s?

Percy: I was thinking more alongside a training partner? SO you can get more involved with the rest of the team!

[Prince]:Sure, I guess I can’t put training off for long. I’ll ask big-sis to couch me.

Percy:Actually, I thought about pairing you up with Houndour! Since both of you are going to become leaders and all

He gulps as soon as you mention his name.

[Prince]: Ho-Houndour? Are you sure Pops? He’s pretty scary…

Percy:Don’t worry Prince, he’s not as mean as he looks! And you need to start getting comfortable with your teammates, I think Houndour could be a good mentor.

[Prince]:Alright…..

>For the next training session, Prince and Houndour will be paired up!
>Prince seems to be pretty scared of him

After Loudred is done, you all return to your room to get some well-deserved rest. Mimikyu has gone to sleep who knows where, Vulpix is hogging one of the pillows, and Kadabra keeps browsing, he seems stumped about something.

[Kadabra]: These images, they seem so nonsensical. Is there any meaning to them? Or is the lack of meaning their purpose itself?

Is he talking about art? You guess such things could be a little hard to understand for Pokémon, maybe you could talk to him about it later….No wait, he’s just seeing deep-fried memes. How did he get there?

[Kadabra]: I’m not sure myself, I don’t know if I should study this “memes” further or if they are just a waste of energy

Ah right, he can read your mind.

You take the cellphone from Kadabra before he goes deeper into the rabbit hole, you are pretty tired after all that jogging, today has been a busy day.

You drift to sleep, free of any nightmares. Your tiredness impedes you from waking early.
>>
>>2992642
It’s a new day. 4th day of your journey. Thursday.

You wake up a little later than usual,

Most of your Pokémon are already awake, except for Kadabra who was up late trying to figure out “memes”. After getting yourself ready, and feeding breakfast to your mons, you are ready to start a new day! Today, if nothing else happens, you are finally leaving Ibarra Village.

On your way to get breakfast you notice that Dick sent you a message, seems like he already went to the gym and is waiting in line to challenge the leader. That means you don’t have much time left if you are leaving after he gets his badge. In this last couple of hours you should…

>Take the chance for a light training session with your mons
>Let’s message Eli to see what she’s up to, maybe she would like to join you in your training?
>Go to the White Veil labs installations here, see if you can get your Pokédex fixed

Might as well inform Dr. Ford of the deal at the ruins personally, you venture forth through the back door. Who knows, maybe he will take you with him again, do some archeology together!

Or you could just give him the details, in case his assistant missed anything and not delay yours and your companions departure to the next town over. Eh, you'll send them a message, you really want to check that place out!

As you mull this over, you can feel someone spying you, another trainer perhaps? Maybe they want to call you out for taking the back door instead of getting in line, but the moment you turn back to clear this misunderstanding, there's no one.

As you enter the Gym you can see The Gym Leader in the middle of the fight with the guy with a fedora and the Farfetch'd. Alabaster wasn't it? He's commanding a Pelipper and his Farfecth'd

At the benches another known faces cheers for the chubby teen dressed in black.

[Charles]: Get'em Bruh!

The Gym leader notices your entrance, it seems to take his mind of the battle for a second giving Alabaster's mons an opportunity to strike

[Dr.Henry Ford]: Damn, this kid again.

>An offer you can’t refuse
An old misanthropic war veteran is preparing to close his Herb shop for the day, business is usually slow, aside from the already frequent clients, old ladies who prefer home remedies, kids who mistake the place for a “smoke shop”, people with paranoiac beliefs of White Veils pharmaceutical, and the rare trainer searching for the “move tutor”.Slowking and Hariyama help out.

Just as he’s about to shut the door locked. A man in a combat suit enters the premises, his uniforms sports the Blackstone Co. logo.

[Arthur]: We are closed, come back, eh. Never if possible

[Matthews]: I’m here to talk business Arthur. A job-offer of sorts.

[Arthur]: I don’t swing that way pal, now get out, I have plans tonight with a cheap bottle of Bourbon

[Matthews]: It’s for Blackstone’s security department, there’s a position open that would fit an old bastard like you. Just letting you know they sent me to scout you.

[Arthur]: And what is in it for me? Mooching off the government and selling these dried plants gets me enough cash to afford passing out drunk every night, and that’s enough for me.

[Matthews]: How about getting your license back?
The old man is surprised by this claim, his disbelief suddenly turns to anger.

[Arthur]: If this is some sort of joke, I’ll personally beat the shit out of you.

[Matthews]: Calm down gramps, Blackstone has enough pull with the Trainer’s association to make it happen.

[Arthur]: What’s the job? You know that I legally can’t work with mons anymore.

[Matthews]: Not mons, but you can train “Trainers”. The newbies are all a bunch of fuckups, we need people to beat them into shape. Your official position will be some corporate bullshit like “Efficiency Manager”.

[Matthews]: Just, make them improve a little, command them in field missions, and if everything goes right, you’ll get your license.

[Arthur]: You know I just kept that punk of yours as a part-timer here for cheap labor, right? barely even trained her.

[Matthews]: Don’t give me that bullshit old man, I saw what her team could do, a newbie trainer couldn’t be teaching “Tutor Moves” to their Pokémon. Besides I prefer her working here than hanging out with all those shitty gang members.

[Arthur]: Alright, stop verbally jerking me off, where do I sign?
