From the memoirs of Dresden Nemo's Adjutant. "Alcor"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r30D3SW4OVw

The history books ,should any of them survive, would refer to this as a singularly pivotal battle in Ragnyll's history. To wit, Gran Lake is a body of water that faces the ignominy of being called a lake when in fact it has the reputation and scope of most major seas if not oceans in the world. The beating heart of Ragnyll's trade flourished from a recently opened passage through Exodus pass and other rivers.
From here the various "port" towns slowly introduced the cultures that make up the Valknyres today. Ragnyll, as well as the Voss ultimately realizes the importance of controlling this singular body of water, especially its few ports, shipyards, and even intravenous rivers.
So paramount was its influence on the world stage at the time, that even the Council Aeternia recognized its influence and declared it an international water in exchange for supplying us a Navy with which to safeguard it.

And on the day the Voss crossed the Blue Line. That claim was challenged and their promise of a world order with it.

>>2967706
It's relatively simple, the biggest problem will likely be figuring out drift.
>>
>>2967719
>>2967706
Drift is basically 'you keep going in this direction'. So if at start you go 3L to NE, for example, you'll keep going that direction at that speed for each subsequent turn unless you issue another movement command (except turning) later on. This means you can turn to another direction (for the skipper, 120 degrees/2 hex directions per turn) and strafe your enemies that way.
Got it?
>>
>>2967709
Probably a Galleon. Seems simple enough, just point your guns at something until it dies.

>>2967736
So, unless I turn, I continue to move in a fixed direction, got it. Anything els you might want to share?
>>
>>2967741
>unless I turn
Um, the other way around. As in during a drift you'll still be going even if you spin your boat. It's accelerating/stopping/starting another drift that stops a drift.
>>
>>2967741
Nice choice. You might turn into a hardcore masochist if you arent careful though. Someone will be kind enough to give an explanation. In the base you have 70 Hp ×4 systems = 280 Hp, if you lose systems you lose actions. Galleons have 4 actions TOTAL. So the more systems you lose, the less you can shoot and move. You may decide to instead of losing a system to lose 1 of your gun batteries (but you will still lose your HP) so you can keep moving. If you lose all your systems, you begin to sink and take in water. (You may still shoot though).
SOME BOATS unlike the Galleon have a minimum number of actions regardless if they lose systems (see the action point chart) per example galleon has 0+4systems of actions when Destroyer has 1+2sytems of action. I hope this wasnt too complicated or confusing to explain.
>>
>>2967802
okay, got it

Regarding the Galleon:

What does the Fire Command rule imply?
And Firing solution and Drift shot?

I have two heavy long cannons and 6 autocannons, right?
>>
>>2967812
HP is 16 right?
>>
>>2967821
Hell no, you have a total of 280 HP (70Hp per systems which is 4 for a Galleon) 70×4=280 you are a big masochist
>>
>>2967817
Fire Command rule just means that instead of doing this:
>Fire 160mm to target A
>Fire 160mm to target A
>Fire Autocannon to target B
>Fire Autocannon to target B
(which is 4 acts used),
you can just use two acts like:
>Fire 2x160mm to target A
>Fire 2xAutocannon to target B

Keep in mind that different targets mean different acts, so using all your autocannons to attack two targets would be like:
>Fire 3xAutocannon to target A
>Fire 3xAutocannon to target B
(and that uses two acts)

>>
>>2969087
You have two type of gun, the 160mm long has a range of 4L and two mode of fire You have three of them and you can fire them twice each in a turn. Firing solution auto-hit on a tile or "pinged" target, but always deviate by one tile and the shot land later so you need to lead them. Drift shot is a [35]x2 attack but it doesn't have the drawbacks of firing solution.
You have 6 32 autocannons with a range of 2L. Their only attack is a [40]x6 attack.

>The system is a roll under target with d100 with the digit being the damage (0=10) roll under 10 are considered crit and 100 is considered a double 00
>Example: you use all autocannon on one side to do an attack on a single target with fire command
to do this you would roll 18d100 and every roll of 40 or less would be a hit. Autocannons deal heavy (halve DR) +6 damage.
>Example spread Ironcommand will process those so you don't need to remember how it works (57 5 3 37 23 54 92 39 31 57 9 16 56 11 60 77 89 31)
out of those rolls 5/3/37/23/39/31/9/16/11/31 would be hits
after applying modifiers the damage would be
16/12/13/9/15/7/24/12/7/7 minus half the targeted unit DR (crits double the rolled damage value)
>>

>>
>>2969239
Okay, I understand both the autocannons example and the drift shot, but I still have some doubts.

What does it mean that a tile is pinged and why ithe shot deviates one tile if it supposedly auto hits.

Also, may I shoot with all my heavy cannons to one side?

But anyway, thanks for your info.

We're a bit lopsided, hopefully we can get some more screening forces in place. We very much need some Destroyers and Boofodders, not to mention at least 1 T-Boat. Some more duckies wouldn't be amiss either.

>What does it mean that a tile is pinged and why ithe shot deviates one tile if it supposedly auto hits.
The skipper and the ducky have the ability to ping a target granting a +10 bonus to hit. Firing solution has deviation 1 meaning that shot will scatter by 1 tile keep in mind that most ships are relatively big

Admiral, our fleet is being called on to intercept the voss, they've already broken through 2 fleets and are coming in with a land invasion force.

Please assign a formation.
> You may formation units based on Class or classification or parameters etc.
> You must assign a Fixed Point or Flagship. This unit does not "move" instead it moves the fleet [and acts as FLEET DRIFT] and must therefore act first or act last ONLY.

Fleet Drift happens in addition to individual drift until Formation Break is Called. Beware ! It is important to call a Formation Break when closed engagements occur.

boats are placed to express size
>>
Notice to air units.
Stallion Air Base is located due East. of the staging point. In order to resupply simply utilize the Tboats or fly off stage for the duration of 1 turn. Then redeploy the next. Note the 2 turns of potential inactivity this will incur.

We will be on open sea's and will need to set up our formations for facing the enemy fleet. Expect heavy opposition. But remember to take your time, think about how drift will affect you, and coordinate! Now, rp inbound.

The Admiral stares from the Bridge toward the deep blue of Gran Lake, hands crossed behind his back. The situation wasn't good, as the Voss force had already struck a terrible blow, but Ragnyll is known for being scrappy. And Octavius intended on making sure the Vosskon got a taste of Hel.

"Sir, I've a report on your Fleet strength from Rear Admiral Alexi as well as your tea." The voice of his assistant breaking Octavius from his thoughts. While thumbing through the report of what ships and air support the Rear Admiral was able to gather for this scrambled defense he'll smile and thank her.

"Much appreciated, Talia. Though who knows if this is possible, but where were all these Galleons when the Voss originally hit us... Might have made a difference, might not have guess I shouldn't lament the past. Cause the only path is forward." Pausing, Octavius takes the still steaming cup of tea and enjoys a long sip from it. Talia, having served alongside the Admiral long enough, knew he was thinking aloud as much as making a joke in his odd way and only smiled.

"Well now that we've got our Fleet gathered, lets get into formations." The Admiral informs his radiomen to inform the fleet to assume battlestations. "Gran Lake will likely be dyed red before this is all over."

Warning to everyone. We have to keep together, don't get too far beyond our core, and our skippers need to get out there and start patrolling.

We are out numbered, significantly, we get too far away from being able to support one another, we'll be cut to ribbons.

We also have to DEFEND Stallion. If push comes to shove, that's the single most important thing. We need to fight the enemy, and bleed them at every step, and avoid them getting around us.

Fun times ehn?

In the worst case scenario, we might be forced to pin them against the coastline, but I hope it doesn't come to that.
>>
>>2972464
Basically, we need to be very much aware of chasing ghosts. If the enemy tangles us up and gets around us, then we're pretty much screwed. Our only advantage is that we KNOW where they're going... we have to narrow down the locations of their forces.

This is Commander Dresden Nemo of the Remaining Ragnyll Coast Guard. 3rd Wave, you are currently one of the last remaining groups on the water so I shall see to your operation from our Fortress.

Your mission is to seek out and launch a counter offense against the embattled voss. Barring that, ensure the enemy doesn't field a substantial land force on stallion.

And now a hot tip for the day. Your formation is stretching too far apart. Anymore and you will have no room for a forward theater. Your recon reports will fall short, and your response forces will get destroyed in detail by the Voss. With that said.

To all members of the Ragnyllian 3rd Wave, regroup in Sector 0,1. Commander Nemo is completely accurate we are spread too thin. Expect heavy resistance, once we are formed back up and have a better picture of the Voss offensive we will either continue the plan and push North to our friendly fortress, to punch off what we can of the enemy Air Fleet.

>>2974469
Air Support take this to heart, we can't afford to feed the Voss because we try and force a play. Do not be afraid to loop back over friendly forces, if our enemies are in the sky a bit longer but you survive I will get over it.

Additionally to all units, do not rely on attempted Overwatches as there are far more variables in that regard than for ground pounders. If you are capable of taking a shot, do so, otherwise it may be best to attempt to line up a shot instead. Though I am sure some instances of Overwatch will, as always, still prove useful.

Hour 3 of the conflict, the RAF engages with the enemy in lightning exchange with the gunboats evading most of their wrath. More importantly 2 aero naval fleets close in from the North and North west.

Admiral Octavius's hold on the naval theater begins to tighten as the soon to retire Galleon commander bore witness to the fiery horizon.

Admiral Octavius sets the cup of tea he'd been drinking onto the tray it'd been brought to him upon. Then while moving over to the Gaylestorms' radioman, Octavius pulls a wood with ibonyte inlay smoking pipe from his jacket and begins packing it with tobacco. The radioman nervously looks up from his console toward the Admiral, whom seems to be in his own world packing that pipe. Only after what feels like an eternity does Octavius finish and smiles at the expectant radioman.

"Bring Commander Nemo onto comms for me." Octavius finally speaks, with relief visible on the radioman's face as he was not used to the seeming lack of stress that the Admiral was showing. It only took a few moments for Nemo to respond, just long enough to light a pipe, and Octavius continued into the receiver he gets handed. "Dresden, long time, got a field promotion instead of getting to retire. But at least I'm here to try and provide what assistance we can. If things go well we'll be crushing Voss hulls against your shore. Good luck and good hunting Old Friend."

After finishing up his conversation with Dresden Nemo, Admiral Octavius just stands next to the radio taking a few tugs from the still smoldering pipe in his left hand. It seems the man was in thought again, contemplating something for several minutes before his weathered face cracks into a grin. The Admirals eyes connect with the radioman's once more, and the lad pipes up, "Sir?"

"Get me on an open channel, I'm hoping these Vosskon bastards will be up for a bit of banter." A hearty chuckle boiling up from deep within as he waited for the signal that he had his open channel. Continuing as soon as he did. "To all Voss forces on and above Gran Lake, this is Admiral William Octavius aboard the RNS Gaylestorm of the Ragnyllian 3rd Fleet, here to welcome you properly. Even though we may be foes, I wish you good fortune in the battles to come. Though if we have our way, your good fortune ends here."

The Admiral nods to end transmission, handing back the receiver while taking a long tug from his pipe. It seemed Octavius was content to wait on whether or not his foe would respond. Now finally striding across the bridge once more to gaze upon the battle beginning to properly unfold. "Even with my bluster we need to tighten up and get more coordinated if we mean to actually cause the Voss any harm." The smoke of his pipe already beginning to form a small layer against the ceiling of the bridge.

"The slaughter of innocents is just politics?" Read Admiral Alexi Jistin bristled, his teeth nashing.

"Communications Officer, open this on all frequencies. Boost the signal as much as you can. I want this reported to the world."

"Too anyone who may be listening, ally or enemy, civilian or soldier, interested or neutral parties alike. I am Rear Admiral Alexi Jistin of the Ragnyllian Grand Lake Fleet, and I have just been told by the Voss invaders that this war, this war where they kill our civilians, the children and the sick and old and the infirmed, and raise them as ghouls against their loved ones, is not personal." His voice trails off, and then he hammers home the next 4 words like gun shots.

"It. Is. Just. Politics."

"Well I wish everyone to know, all Valknyrians and our neighbors, that what this fleet becomes today will not just be politics. This IS personal for us, the Voss have waged a war of extermination, as the monsters of old did upon human and demihuman alike. And so like the warriors of old, we shall take up the mantle of the Slayer. We shall be slayers of this misnamed Ocean, and though we die, we will take a bloody toll from the Voss, and in our deaths will be an example to ALL peoples to rise up and cut down the creature at their necks, even as the fangs tear out their throats."

Everyone capable of putting fire on those 'Halberds' do so. If you are able to ping without being stuck up there do so. I'd rather not lose someone else just yet.

Otherwise Fleet, remain around sector 0,1. This is paramount to the plan I have cooking for next phase. Just hold for me best you can, and pummel those halberds with all you got. We just need to stick together 'tight-ish' without sitting on each other to avoid aoe.

GAL4, suggesting that you Decelerate at least 1L if not 2L to counter your drift. Don't want to ram a friendly, we need all the hull we've got. Oh my, all this drift my fleet is acquiring.
>>
>>2974854
you need to declare a specific target for the halberd, and a direction of overwatching, as well as roll those overshots unless you're using >>2974853's ping.
>>
>>2974854
Well, at least deviation is taked care, as the ship is pinged.

What do you think, should I use Autocannons now or have them in Overwatch for the Voss Air Forces?
>>
>>2974859
By Halberg you mean the 160 mm cannons?

I am using them on the pinged ship, which I believe is the rightmost one.
>>
>>2974860
voss airforce is just beyond reach, you're also about to slam into my rear. Could you instead devote 2 firing solutions onto that pinged target? Delete your previous action, you're going to ram my engines and leave me utterly helpless.
>>
>>2974856
Wasn´t Drift applied at the beginning of the turn? I should be able to pass you wih no trouble then, as I am using an action to mov a further 1L and ram a ship
>>
>>2974867
Okay
>>
>>2974866
The enemy air ships are called halberds, and as I said before, your current movement is going to ram my rear and take out my engines. It'd be very nice if you could delete your previous action, and rewrite it so it has 1 less movement. You can also use firing solution from any distance, because the 160mm long cannons have rifling.

You need to use SPECIFIC TERMS otherwise the processor will just roll FOR YOU.

without using green text, your action should look like this
--Drift 2L NW
-Move 1L NW
-Use Firing solution with all available 160mm cannons on pinged air ship
-Use Firing Solution with all available 160mm cannons on pinged air ship
-Overwatch all 32mm autocannons NW

Just replace the first hyphen in each line with a greater than sign.
>>
>>2974874
basically, you want to be as precise in your actions as possible when written, that way the processor knows what you want and doesn't get annoyed ^^

Insufferable's orders are suggestions at best. You are well within range of the Voss Airships using standard attacks after moving (16 hex base range).

And hitting him with the prow of your ship will not disable his engines.

>>2974867
>>2974874
Given that Firing Solution has a phase delay and those airships will certainly move forward, reconsider using your Firing Solutions versus a rapidly advancing target. They'll drop into the water in the ships passing.

With a standard ping and shot deviation, set your firing patterns for the middle of the voss halberds. they're so big even when you miss you hit anyway.
>>
>>2974891
they won't miss if you target the ping rather than the tile.

But yes, using drift shots is certainly acceptable, but I disagree about the movement, movement seems to be around 4-5 hexes, and it's going to ram me, if he goesn't have 4L total move, then he'll be out of range, if he does, then he'll probably ram me. Thus, the pinged target firing solution, won't matter how they move then, it'll hit.

You can turn as part of a single move action, in order to do something like

:turn n then nw then move 1NW

You could also

:move 1N then 1NW

This would automatically turn you as you float along.

saving you multiple actions a turn and allowing you much better efficiency!

Orn Gyvat:Don't rush me, Admiral Domovoi. Great things require patience. Besides, Dresden's drawling all over their comms, don't underestimate them.
(edited)

Dresden: Octavious what you are being dragged into the water right now by is a Voss submarine. Find a way to cut the rope by killing the voss submarine or simply powering through your engines and swinging it around. A T boat would find a way to untangle that hook as well. However while you are dragged down your systems are waterlogged and you are facing massive nautical pressures. I know this because I designed those damn things to do their job for the Voss. So batten your hatches, open no doors and communicate with those who remain alive in your engine rooms. Or die. Right here.

Alcor: Commander that other VAS-Fierstrom disappeared into the clouds, we suspect heavy electrical equipment and radiowaves are generating phantoms in our instruments and even the naked eye. But... how ??

Dresden: YOU SHITTY BRAT this IS A VOSSKON INVASION Didn't You Get the Missive not to come ??

Yang Wen Li: I did. And am fully aware of the risks. Which is why I took it upon myself to bring this wonderful device. It was a matter of time before the Voss managed to revive their aeronaval apparatus and so I've come with a stopgap measure, Commander Nemo.

Dresden: So ? Where is it ?

Li: Ah... as I said one need only look up at the skies ~

Dresden: Don't tell me you already finished it - !

" Tweehehehe but I already have for quite some time on those wonderfully "sunny" days that you chose to ignore our appointments commander. "

Dresden: Tch.

Alcore: Sir what does all this mean.

Dresden: It means we wait for the winds to turn and hopefully the tides with it.

All hands. Imminnent weather will strike the operation theater. During which, air units will be compromised by severe winds and its possible that Voss vessels will be affected as a result. Whether you fight in the outer edges of the storm centered on the Gran lake airbase or choose to conduct a fighting retreat to it is up to your judgement as our final line of defense. History will not frown on what you accomplished this day nor will I let them. Nemo o- - - --sssshhshhshshh CRACKLE shshshshh.

Sirens scream all around the bridge, most of it's occupants just managing to get their feet. The Admiral, despite the pain as his head bounced off a nearby console from the shells slamming into the Gaylestorm, managed to keep his feet. Blood began to drip from Octavius' temple, and he lets out a long sigh. He could feel her shifting beneath them, slowly beginning to slip under the waves. "C'mon girl, I told Dresden we'd hold out for him. One last hurrah yea? Then I can come home..."

Tears beginning to stream down mixing with the blood from his temple, Octavius scans the bridge, relights his pipe, and takes a long tug from it before speaking up in his normal tone. "She's sinking kids, inform the crew to prepare for evacuation. Those who intend on staying, get my Storm as online as she can be. We may be going down but we're still breathing."

The man was an odd sight, a red line of blood trickling down until it meets with the tears streaming down from his eyes. Despite the ceaseless crying however, Octavius seemed just as before. Staring out over the carnage wrought not only upon the Gaylestorm, but his fleet, friends, and even several enemy vessels. Spending a moment or two to take a tug from his pipe, or belt out a command, when something over the comms perked the Admiral's brow.

Dresden was interrupted by a voice the Admiral had never heard. Within a few strides, Octavius was not only on the horn with Dresden and Yang Wen Li but also the remains of the Rangyll 3rd Wave. Trying to get as much information on the support as he could, until the weather began to turn even worse. To the point the Commander cuts out into static. The radioman adjusts the channels and manages to get one to cooperate, despite moments of static and with which Octavius addresses the fleet.

"To all remnants of the 3rd Wave, it's been an honor to sail alongside you all. Standing orders are such, bleed them dry. Let the Voss speak of the battle of Gran Lake for generations to come. Of the losses they sustained, even as they set 'monsters' to obliterate us. Make them speak of the 3rd Wave that crashed upon them like a storm, refusing to yield!"

The Admiral motions for his comms operator to begin broadcasting over all channels, "Admiral Orn, I know you believe you own these waters. But their true master is about to rear her head, I advise you full retreat before your losses resemble my own. But if you're not pressed for time, it seems I've got some left myself, let us continue this dance." Finally Octavius releases the reciever and hands it back over to the radioman.

"What guns do we still have online, and yes I can see the forward cannon is completely shorn off. I'm not blind, just get me that status report!"

Coffinship Brother! Couple things. Since you didn't make any rolls, you can copy your action n stuff, then select the check box and just delete those if you'd like. And then consolidate your post into something easier for the Boss to process. But it's all good. (If you do so I'll likely delete this since it'd make no sense lol.)

But since you're firing as well, you'll need to make rolls for your attack anyway. dice+12d100 (for the shot you're making in particular) in the options field, whether you just add another post or decide to consolidate everything.
Though there is also the problem with using Firing Solution, it's only for Pinged targets if I recall. But even if I'm wrong there, the distance and height that the airship you'll be firing at, will severely hinder your shots. But I've seen someone play jedi today already and hit things they shouldn't have heh.

Also your Reverse action should just eliminate 1L of your current 2L drift, if I'm understanding it correctly. You'll need to spend 2 actions to reverse 2 total lengths if you're worried about plowing through my drifting husk.

Up to you though, I just wanted to provide some advice if it could be useful.

3rd Fleet is it ? Allow me to introduce myself, My name is Yang Wen Li, chief Scientific Engineer Advisor for Ragnyll's Marine Labs. But that's a secret. What isn't a secret are the current weapons systems you're operating , namely the T-Boat and the Opter. Two of the few units I designed for the Independence effort.

The Tboat is a wonderful supply boat is it not ?it's also a worthy lander capable of fielding an infantry battlegroup , acting as a supply base for air units and with those arms can aide in the resupply and reconstruction of warships. You heard that right. The Tboat is a giant engineer that can even scoop up mines and nasties from the water and hold it over its head just like the 5 grandfathers before me.

And those same Grandfathers told me that a ship is still a ship as long as the [keel line] is still intact. So thats what I'm here to tell you.

=Repairing Sinking Ships=
Tboats can Patch every possible hole in the hull while while keeping it held up fro sinking the more Tboats there are the faster this operation can succeed. Upon success the ship regains HP up to its retained System.

Be advised, Tboats can't help an infected ship. Boarded boats must resolve before this can happen. Also pneumatic crushing and additional damage will still have a chance at destroying the keel line totally scuttling the ship.

At this point, there isnt much to accomplish anymore. We dont have enough firepower to kill the landers and the "Volta" is stopping us from doing anything so it needs to be kept simple. Destroy the Volta, the remaining Duckies will have to do it. Then destroy Domovois capital ship with Trebuchet ant missiles. I suggest shooting near the Volta in case the Duckies wiff shooting at it. Afterwards is to keep destroying as many landers as possible. Thats it. These are the only things that truly exist on the map. I will mark the Volta for those that dont see it. "X" marks the spot. This is it. If you want Corvets could attempt to pull down the Halberd circled in red down for the Trebuchets or the trebuchets can shoot and the Covettes pulls down the Big Halberd.

Right you are, gentlemen!

If ye wouldn't mind giving a wee bit o' tactical guidance, it seems I got around two choices concerning getting into rocket range: go by the green route on this here tactical map, which sends my missiles at the very edge of the enemy vessel, or the red route, which'll give me a clean shot but may be interrupted if I canny shunt the corvette out of the way.

I'd appreciate yer thoughts on the matter if ye wouldn't mind, I don't want ta' bugger up a shot of this significance.

Yang: That storm is harmful to both sides ! I don't think it's turning around the fight fast enough.

Nemo: There might be a ch - ance but it's only enough to let them get away. Getting that damn monster to beach is already costing us good lives. . .

Alcor: Ser might I make one suggestion then

Nemo: Let's hear it, Alcor.

"Well judging from the specs on this machine it's able to ionize the stratosphere, cause water condensation, pressure changes and even replicate Freon particles . . . "

Yang: A-Are you suggesting we cause a blizzard ? The machine could break from the stress and there's no telling how long the effect will last once it can't be undone.

Nemo: You're implying that it's powerful enough to do that ? Then that's good. It would prevent a land invasion, but it would freeze Gran Lake Over, creating an icy hell... "

I'm against the plan. If only because something that dangerous should not fall within a sector of the enemy's clutches. And also...

=About Death=
In naval battles such as these its possible that the craft gets sunk, and destroyed but the fate of its crew is up to the character's interpretation. However it is without a doubt that some or most of the crew dies with a large vessel if not evacuated properly.

There are few exceptions however:
-The Ship is boarded and the crew massacred by the raiding party.
-The Ship and its surrounding waters are compromised such that even being on the water leaves little to imagination.

Otherwise its still possible to "swim" back to shore. This is a lake after all. And land will eventually reach you. So long as those water purification tablets hold out, anyways.

As of yet , there is no mechanical weight to "crew" and personnel in this battle. But it will be explored at a later time.

Nemo, Alcor, Fortress Actual

Do not activate the device! Gran Lake supplies more than just War. We cannot turn it into a frozen hellscape, the consequences are too extravagant.

Kick up the storm a notch, if you can. It grounds their fleet and slows them down for Stallion to prepare. The lightning wrecks havoc on their armaments.

But it will pass. Stallion will hold. We've done our job.

> 3rd Wave, Routed.
> Mission End

1 Month and 1 Week into the 2nd Voss Invasion.
Gran lake's defense forces have been scattered and forced to regroup. The Voss ,while slowed down by a storm of storms makes their way slowly to Stallion with a landing force mostly intact and primed to set their sights to attack Ragnyll from behind the Kolstec line.

However because of the Third Wave's unorganized yet aggressive tactics , they managed to down the Dreadnought. Its fate on the lake is uncertain but logistics say that at best it can only manage to float with its theoretical design specs.

We faced total defeat in the open seas. Albania Airfield fell out of our grasp as a result and soon it's a very real possibility that they will reenact their initial scheme of launching rockets from it.

With the storm still active, any Voss landing is slowed, all shore patrols intensified, but our intel on their air activity has thinned.

Ragnyll can't hold out on a defensive war for long.

Cpt. Broadside: And that's the situation. The Voss 2nd Wave will be here in a matter of hours now and it will be an order of magnitude worse than the first. Ground forces are being mustered to defend it, and in the worst case, help evacuate it, but for you I'll give you the special exemption. You've done us a favor of getting our heels dug in the sand and you still have standing orders to report to Bagrahm.

Yang Wen Li: Th- That would be me, Science Officer Yang Wen Li. Chief Engineer of Maritime Warfare. And OH MY GOODNESS IS THAT A TYPE 9 !?

WO. Beckley: Err hmm...

Dresden Nemo: I see, I'll keep this brief , please ensure that our VIP makes it to Bagrahm Base. You'll see that Science Officer Li and her Toys may be key to turning this war around. Either for us or the Voss. I won't get into details but there's been word of Ragnyll agents working for the Voss, ensure that she doesn't fall to them.

Beckley: A word Commander Nemo.

Nemo: Y- yes ?

Beckley: It has been compiling in my difference engine for sometime now but, might I surmise that the real reason for us going to a Training Base in Bagrahm has anything to do with these reports ?

Nemo: A reasonable guess, and if you've arrived at that answer on your own then there's no need for me to confirm nor deny it. To begin with, it's clear that your group doesn't need "Basic Training" That will be all, Captain. See to your objective, and we'll take care of our mess from here.

A nominal 20 experience is needed to qualify for First Response Field medicine. But of course leave the rest to your trusty surgeon.

=40 Days after the Voss Offensive=

The train from Stallion left quietly into the open country and then, into shadowy crags that would greet us to bright sloping sands of Kashir's domain. Packed in this monstrous locomotive, was one of the many Ragnyllian soldiers and refugees bound to their homes in Kolstec. In all there were around 55 civilians including a troupe of circus performers. The supplies coming from Stallion may even be one of the last. And then there's us.

A car to ourselves , supplies , armor , people most would sleep in cramped spaces others invented spaces or simply slept under the stars.

The only work to be had was administrative. Soldiers rotated in and out of watch, activity had to be kept up, or stagnation would eat away at us. On the radio, everyone kept listening for updates on Stallion. At the very least, the staff was kind enough to keep us fed through the trip. The conductor once told me that he lived in a town called Silvia. I then told him that someone bought the town and renamed it Bartram. This upset him somehow.

26 sectors away. We approach Jagram , Dagram, and finally Bagram.

Then night fell.

"WHY" the man despaired, adrift in a paper sea.

"Do I sign the triplicate second B acquisition or the duplicate C requisition?"

"Whyyyy" the man roared, face to face with his personal nemesis. The haunting shape of the Eternia Comma.

"Lead, do we sign off on the request to the application for the notification of a supply adjustment consideration?"

" can anyone tell me what went wrong? " said a man at the end of an ink-stained rope.

"Officer Boyston found he could unload all the excess paperwork on us, Lead. Now shut up and pass me another pen. S'sis not all bad"

" What could possibly be positive about this present predicament? "

Some paper was shuffled.

"This is a quartermasters general requisition form"
"Uh?"
"This is a pen"
"Uh-uh?"
"Sign line 7, 8, 12, and fill out a counter-note C23... Voila."
"Uh-huh. . ."
"Thought you might like it."
>>
"Man, fire a few tank shells and suddenly the quartermasters want me to track what happened to every single one!"

Riley groans as she slumps in her driver's seat. The main passenger car was too crowded so she opted to just stay in Gunny. It got her away from the congestion and let her keep an eye on her Bitank 24/7. A win for everyone, honestly.

Plus she had heard stories of tankers in past wars practically living in their vehicles, with some never even leaving them until they either died or the war ended. Must've been nice.

"Aw shit, they want in BLUE ink, too?!"

Riley groans again as she tears up the form and grabs a new one.

After getting the permission to hold a debriefing in one of the far more spacious wagons currently occupied by the circus troop, for the modest sum of two crate of canned meat, Serena convokes the troops.

“Here is the situation, we had to evacuate Stallion yesterday at 1600, in part because of our deployment order but also because the Aeternian navy failed to stop the Voss fleet and we have no way to help on that front. Defending Stallion from a landing is one thing, doing so while the enemy has access to naval bombardment in another.” Serena traces the rail line on the theater map. “As such we’re currently moving to Bagram with a VIP, senior science officer Yang Weng Li and this conclude the summary of current situation.”

“The second point of this meeting is promotion, primarily mine but also to the rest of the people in the unit. As some of you might know by now, after our stellar performance while defending Stallion I was promoted Captain, and this mean that second lieutenant coffee will now become lieutenant. If they want to Sergeants Berthold and Eigan will become second lieutenant and with it gain the responsibility of designating a successor whom they will promote to Sergeant in their stead. While I’m on this topic officer Boyston, due to the importance of your profession you are promoted to sergeant and will oversee screening transfer demand and basic training, congratulation. Some of you complained about not getting promoted so I have two options for you, either you live your whole life as private first class or gain the dreaded title of corporal and gain this hat that clearly marks you as the guy to kill first.”

>Coffee promoted to Lieutenant
>Berthold and Eigan can promote to second lieutenant if they want to, by doing so they need to designate a successor to their role to be promoted to sergeant
>Boyston promoted to sergeant and given the ability to block people from becoming civilian officer
>everyone else given the option to either become PFC. or Corp. depending on if they want to go up the ladder or not

Take note that there's a format that should be followed when posting actions. Please pay special attention to the splitting of actions in your squad. It helps phase processing run smoother.

"Thank you ma'am, only I am unsure if any other engineers would wish to be sergeant at this stage. Can I mull it over a bit?"

It's not a timed offer so think about it.

"Glad to take the promotion Captain."

I guess the hat that says "shoot me" suits me for now. Who dares wins I guess.
>Takumi Fujiwara is now Corporal (For the sake of myself I'll just put Cpl. on my sheet)

Jathan reclined on his barricade, watching the sky race by overhead. He'd found the inside of the train car far too cramped. The train roof also offered an interesting training opportunity. After all barricades needed to not only be durably built, but also properly anchored so they couldn't be simply toppled over by an advancing enemy. “Still hanging on back there?” he called over the rushing wind without bothering to actually look. The terrified screams he got in response barely qualified as a yes, but did they job well enough.

A glance to the left confirmed that his own anchors were still firmly attached to the train. One of the men yelled a question into his barricade, something about the scheduled meeting. “Ask Berthold about it if you can't figure it out yourself,” Jathan shouted back. No way he was letting them head back inside until they started trusting their own work or just manned up enough to do it without his permission. Yes, riding on barricades hanging off the side of a train was definitely a good training exercise.

"I'll take that offer. Old man! Art! You were far too happy when you got busy almost dying. Well, you're Sgt. now, so you get to make sure it's only you who dies when the shit hits the fan. Keep the kids moving and alive!"
