Many new advancements in shipbuilding is had as the craftsmen play with the shape of the hull, the curve of the stempost and spur. These advances have allowed large ships to be crafted with the King himself ordering creation of a single 16 Oar Ship. It has also become very popular to have intricate carvings of sea creatures placed as figureheads on the ship to draw the blessing of Galoris.

The North Island is much like your home full of shady trees, rolling hills and surrounded by the rich ocean. The explorers and settlers note little of any interest but a huge boar population that has led to them dubbing it “Boar Island”.

The King and Priest have chosen twenty sinners from among the local population, they are bound in ropes before being taken to the highest cliff on Loslino and cast into the sea. Over the next three nights the seas shimmer with magnificent lights, the Priests say this means Galoris has looked very favourably upon our sacrifice. It is only one week later when we see the first showings of it when I child was torn out to sea by an unexpected rip current. The child was then returned by a strange beast of which is only mixture of shark and landbeast. This is not the only time such creatures are seen, as fishermen soon report these strange creatures helping herd fish into their nets and rescuing sailors thrown overboard. These so called “Angelsharks” are small in number but are sure to increases if taken care of.

Your attempts to expand are blocked as your settlers are attacked by savages who call the island home! They are a simple people only armed with flint and stone but they are savages fighters who slew several men before your settlers retreated to the sea! However the men do report the savages being adorned with strange red stones that men are calling Rubies! This has led to the island gaining the moniker of Ruby Isle.

The King begins gathering the militia in main square several times a month to play a game he has dubbed “Watersack” which involves two teams attempting to move a water filled Oxen bladder past the other teams goal. This has increased both the discipline and tactics of the militia.

We also begin the process of improving our bows as the craftsmen test which types of wood available make the most powerful ones along with experimenting with slight deviations in shape.

Critical Success!
It seems the savages have been alerted by the plumes of smoke coming from the village you sacked but the larger force they have mustered quickly crumbles as David slays their massive chieftain with a single arrow. Those who are not slain outright are bound with ropes.

You lost 10 men, killed 80 and captured 400 more.

As you begin the march to the next village you begin to hear the sounds of horns, it seems the remaining savages on the island are attempting to gather! You must move quickly before they can get a large enough force to threaten you!

You march along the shore like men possessed by Galoris herself! Samudh begins to sing with all the men soon joining in a chorus that strikes fear into the heart of any savage that hears it! After cresting a small hill you find an army of near 800 savages but at the sight of you they begin to throw down their weapons. It seems the fight has completely gone out of them. As you gather up their weapons the King poses the question to his men what to do with the savages?

The King listens intently to the wishes of his subjects. He raises his hand silencing his warriors before voicing his decision. The Chieftains and all their warriors shall be sacrificed to Galoris, each warrior make take two slaves and a handful of rubies. All others will be forced to swear loyalty to the Kingdom and begin worship of the benevolent Galoris!

A great temple is constructed on the highest cliff of Loslina, while not overly large it is covered in intricate carvings of sea creatures adorned with bronze and rubies. A raised platform is created from which sacrifices will take place. It has become a popular destination for all within the Kingdom with most people visiting at least once a year to offer prayer.

On a night wracked by storm a priest flung himself over the edge of the cliff plunging deep into the waters below! He was found miraculously unharmed the next day on the beach, he claims to have been blessed by Galoris with his eyes having gone completely white. In the several months after he has proven this by accurately predicting the coming and going of storms. The people have dubbed him the Stormseer.

H. Has been chosen.

Trade is currently dominated by the Samir whose massive ships allow them to move more goods then any others with near all nations in the area accepting Samir coins for trade.

You currently trade: Tin for Copper, Wine and Olive Oil

Olaz offers Goats and Silver
Copal offers Lumber and Armor
Merli offers excellent textiles

If you use your own ships trade will be slow, if you use Samir traders it will be expensive.
>>
>>2969065
We'll use our own ships
Our rubies will serve us well in trade with copal, gaining is lumber and armor that will enable us to carry out more... forceful activities later on.

The people of Copal are happy to have our trade and seem even happier to cut the Samir out of the deal! They will begin trade of lumber and breastplates for our rubies which will slowly increases as years go by. The people of Copal are similar to us but instead worship some sort of heathen fire demon instead of our glorious sea goddess.

More attention is given to the Anglesharks as fishermen begin to regularly feed parts of their catch, check the creatures for any sort of injuries or parasites. Some more ambitious men have been teaching them to climb unto ships and drag people into the water or break the oars of warships. The Angelshark population thrives under this attention and are slowly becoming an important part of everyday life for the Lightwatchers.

In other news several diplomats have arrived from Samir who have come to ask for your assistance. They have spoken to the King about a great horde of Beastmen that has emerged from the woods and threatens to sack Samir. They wish for our help in repelling this horde in exchange for them lowering taxes on our goods.

A. Help them against these foul beasts
B. They are on their own, this is not our fight

If they want our help, they better offer more than lower taxes. I want property on the mainland.

But, we'll be expecting something more than a mere lowering of taxes.
The son of our king is in need of a wife, how better to cement an alliance?

Faction Name: Clan Neorah
Faction Leader: Tev Neorah
Assets: several fishing boats, experienced fishers, small coastal land north of Loslina

Once a prideful man, Tev has changed after nearly dying while sailing a storm. Saved at the last moment by an angelshark, he’s since became a different man. Using his new found wisdom after his near death experience, he’s convinced several other fishers to follow his lead.

Faction Project: Having growing quite fond of the angelsharks ever since he was saved, Tev orders that anyone under his command to treat them with respect, feeding the angelsharks that are near their fishing spots fish from the catch and helping them if any appear injured. Some men even take to the waters to swim with the beasts when they aren’t working, feeling much safer when they’re around. Tev hopes that one day the animals will allow them to come closer.

Clan Neorah under the direction of Tev have become known as the premier raisers of Angelsharks in Loslina. The family has learned many thing about how the beasts prefer to be treated and how to properly care for them when they get sick. This has lead to fishermen and merchants seeking out the Angelsharks trained by the clan for use, not to mention that they have caught the eye of the King who given Tev the title of Royal Angelshark tamer and gifted him a small lordship on the coast of Loslina.

Bonus: [Angelshark Tamer] +10 to all faction projects with Angelsharks as their central point
