In the far future, biotechnology advances by leaps and bounds, creating stunning achievements in medical, civil, and military applications. Illness becomes a thing of the past, and genetic modification is as commonplace as cosmetic surgery.

However, like all great advances, unchecked progress and experimentation has led to abuse and corruption. Ultra powerful megacorporations that monopolized the latest biotech have risen to be the great powers of the age, waging secret wars of sabotage, espionage, and deceit to get ahead of each other.

In order to fuel their rampant growth, megacorps develop lethal diseases and viruses, horrific bio-organic abominations, and ever more exotic genetic modifications to both sell to the highest bidder and unleash upon each other.

The rampant proliferation of bioweapons, and the need to contain them, has given rise to a new profession, the BIOWEAPON HUNTER.

You are LEWIS, a Hunter specializing in hunting down biological threats with your T-Doll companion HK!

As feared, the Boss had given you the cheapest return flight with the barest minimum of creature comforts. It was another budget cargo flight where you were basically thrown into the cargo bay and left to fend for yourself in the rumbling compartment. If the tossing and pitching from the turbulence wouldn't get you, then it would be one of the many precariously stacked crates.

HK, on her part, didn't seem too bothered at all.

"My body is gyroscopically stabilized for maximum firing accuracy while moving." HK states simply, as if she had somehow read your mind. "Simple turbulence like this is no issue for me to compensate for."

"Well, that's nice and dandy." You grunt as you're shaken by another rumbling of the plane. Were you flying through a goddamn hurricane or something?!

"I can assist you with your discomfort, with your permission." HK offers.

"How?" You grunt, trying to keep your stomach under control.

HK then sits down on a crate and spreads her arms wide as if asking for a hug.

"As I said, my body is gyroscopically stabilized."

Oh...

Well, uh, you might as well take her up on the offer. You somewhat hesitantly sit on her lap and she casually wraps her arms around you. You're suddenly glad that there's nobody else back here.

But the effect is almost immediate. HK was always constantly reacting to the almost random movement of the plane, moving her own body to counter it as she had boasted before.

It also surprised you just how... warm she felt. Like she was actually alive.

"Heh, this was just a ploy to give me a hug, isn't it?" You chuckle, trying to defuse the situation.

"I'm afraid I do not understand your query." HK frowns, her grip tightening just a tad. Enough that you could feel her... frontal padding pressing against your back. They weren't kidding when they advertised she would be as realistic as possible.

"Of course not. My designers aimed to make me as lightweight was practicable in order to allow me wide range of strategic mobility." HK says simply. "I do not understand how that statement applies to the current query."

"Are you sure they didn't program emotions into you?" You ask,, genuinely curious.

"Not to my knowledge." HK says. "As said before, my designers considered even simulated emotions extraneous to my primary function."

"Well, I get the feeling that's not quite the case." You frown. "You said you were also self learning, right? Maybe you're just figuring out how to express those emotions?"

"That is a distinct possibility." HK nods. "I can run an additional diagnostic to eliminate any possible detriments to my operating software."

"I don't think that's necessary." You shake your head. "I kinda like you this way."

"If that's what you wish." HK affirms.

Shit, sitting with HK like this was so comfortable, combined with the exhaustion from the mission, you start to nod off. HK says nothing as you lose consciousness.

When you wake, the plane has already pretty much landed back at Raccoon City. Naturally, it was some ungodly late hour, the sun nowhere to be seen.

"Where is our next destination?" HK asks as you both exit the plane.

"Well." You grunt as you stretch, trying to eliminate all of the aches and sores from the trip. "Let me think on that for a moment."

You open your door, and freeze at the sight.

There was Mom, sitting on the couch as if she owned the place. Carol was fast asleep, laying her head on Mom's lap like a puppy.

"Oh. You're finally back." Mom smiles. "Seems like life's treating you well so far, Lewis."

"Hi, Mom." You greet her just as HK enters. You see Mom's hand twitch at the unexpected arrival, the sure sign of someone used to reaching for a concealed weapon, but Mom is able to hold back and cancel the motion.

That was the thing with Mom. She didn't talk about her past much, but you were almost certain she had been involved in the Invader and Magical conflicts all those years ago. As you had grown older, you noticed just how deliberate and precise each one of her movements were, from how she immediately scanned every room she entered, to how she always subtly positioned herself near you whenever an unexpected visitor arrived. All of the hallmarks of someone who was trained. Who had seen things.

But, she never talked about it, and Carol insisted that you not pry, so you didn't.

"You could have called ahead, you know." You sigh as you shrug off your jacket. HK closes the door behind you.

"Well, I wanted it to be a surprise." Mom shrugs. "It's been what, two, three years now?"

"Just about." You nod. "Oh, right, Mom, this is HK, my-"

"T-Doll partner. Carol told me all about it." Mom rolls her eyes. "Another little 'gift' from Egan."

"Auntie E?" You blink. Now it made sense how Nemo had obtained HK in the first place.

"Figures she'd give one to you, too." Mom grumbles.

"To be fair Mom, you were never the greatest at taking care of yourself." You sigh.

"Indeed." HK nods. "My preliminary scans show higher than normal levels of nicotine and alcohol in her system."

"Hey, give a lady some privacy, will ya?" Mom groans. "I quit smoking years ago!"

"Yeah, but only marginally cut back on the drinking." You roll your eyes.

"Trust me Lewis, it ain't as bad as it used to be." Mom sighs.

Really, from what you've experienced, it had always been Dad who had made sure that Mom was keeping herself healthy. He was a doctor, after all. Apparently, he and Mom had met during one of his stints as an aid worker and hit it off from there. He had always been a big proponent of biotech, too, and was one of the first volunteers to undergo clinical trials for biomods.

Unfortunately, in that sick cosmic irony, Dad was one of the 15% of volunteers whose bodies rejected the biomods, and he died from complications shortly after. Mom was... never quite the same after that.

"Anyways, Springfield's been nothing but a goddamn nuisance." Mom pouts.

"I don't know, it seems like you might be enjoying the attention." You chuckle.

"Indeed. Biometrics indicate a 73% chance she is lying." HK nods.

"Uggggghhhh." Mom sags in defeat.

You give a light laugh at Mom getting flustered while HK looks on with slight confusion.

"Anyways, you free to talk a bit?" Mom's demeanor suddenly turns series as she shoots a suspecting eye at HK. "Privately?"

"Sure thing." You nod.

"Great." Mom then disengages from the still sleeping Carol with a ease only an experienced mother would know, leaving your sister to lay on the couch alone. Carol mumbles something in her sleep but doesn't rouse.

"HK, keep her some company." You say.

"Affirmative." HK calmly takes Mom's place on the couch, and Carol instantly lunges forward and takes her place on HK's lap.

Satisfied that your sister and your partner were well situated, you follow Mom out to the balcony, where the both of you could talk a little more privately. As you slide the patio door shut, you're instantly hit with a gust of cold but refreshing air, the lights of Raccoon City twinkling in the night.

"So, seen any cats around, lately?" Mom asks.

It was a question she's always asked you every time you saw her. You always figured that Mom was either allergic to cats or just plain didn't like them. But now that you were older and wiser, you couldn't help but suspect there was more to this seemingly innocent question than Mom let on.

"A bla-" Mom then pauses and shakes her head. "Nevermind, it's not important."

The two you remain out there leaning on the railing and taking in the cool night breeze without saying anything up until Mom breaks the silence again.

"So how's Nemo been doing?" She asks.

"Still the same old Nemo." You grin. "Practically lives in the lab and never leaves."

"Heh." Mom gives a wry grin. "Figures the kid Egan DIDN'T tinker with turned out the most like her. And what about Lucina? Pretty big coincidence you both ended up working in the same city."

You pause.Your relationship with Lucina had been starting to warm up again. You remember how Mom used to warn you not to get too involved with her, though you weren't sure why. That was years ago, though. Would she still care? Should you take the risk?

"Well, we've been hanging out a bit more often, lately." You say with a smile.

"Really...?" Mom glances at you. "Any reason for that to happen all of a sudden?"

"Just sort of happened, I guess." You shrug. "Is there a problem with that?'

"You're all grown up. You can make your own decisions." Mom grunts, obviously not 100% happy. "Carol been taking good care of you?"

"As always."

"That's good."

And things fall to awkward silence again as you both stand on the frigid balcony.

"Mom..." You frown as you turn to face her properly. Honestly, you were tired of her still leading you around and treating you as if you were still a kid. Enough was enough. "What the heck is all of this about? You're always asking me stuff about cats or what I'm doing with Lucina. I'm an adult now. Don't I deserve to know what's going on?"

You glance at the still sleeping Carol, still using HK as a makeshift pillow.

"I know you and Carol have been hiding things from me. " You sigh. "Just... what's happening? Are you all right, Mom?"

Mom doesn't answer, at least not right away. You can clearly see the troubled look on her face, though.

"Look, Lewis, there's... things you're better off not knowing. For your own good."

So there actually was something going on.

"Look, Lewis." Mom steps forward and gives you a hug. A genuine one. She's warm, and soft like HK. "I'm doing this for you. Can't you trust me on this much?"

"Yeah.... I guess." You sigh. "It just bugs me. The thought that maybe there's something I can help you with and you don't want me to."

"If only it were that simple." Alice sighs, instinctively reaching for a nonexistent cigarette and realizing too late. "Shit."

You can't help but laugh at Mom still not having grown out of her old habits. It made her seem all the more, well, human to you.

"Anyways, I never really thought to ask you this before." Mom shakes her head and regains her composure. "Why did you become a Hunter, anyways? You could have been practically anything you wanted."

"This is gonna sound corny." You take a deep breath. "But I figured it would help me understand you a little bit more."

"Wha-?" Mom blinks, surprised.

"You try to hide it, but I can tell that you've been trained." You explain to her. "And not just trained, you do things like you forced to do them that way to survive. I wanted to put myself through something like that. Expose myself to danger every day so maybe I could get a clue on what you're thinking all the time."

"Well, you're on the right track, I'll give you that." Mom sighs as she checks her phone. "Crap, it's way later than I thought. I really should be going."

"Huh? You're not staying here?" You blink.

"Sorry, I was just dropping by to see a few old friends. Wasn't planning on staying too long." Mom glances through the window, where HK was still keeping an eye on Carol. "Plus it seems a bit crowded here. Looks like you've got enough on your plate without worrying about me."

"Come on, Mom, you can stay the night here." You frown. "I mean, you already came out all this way."

"Well shit, if you're gonna offer, I can't refuse." Mom chuckles. "Looks like it's gonna be a bit crowded, as well."

"You can take Carol's bed. Looks like she's not really going anywhere." You point out.

"Makes sense." Mom nods and pats your shoulder. "I don't really like the line of work you picked for yourself, but... I'm still proud of you, Lewis."

"Thanks, Mom." You smile.

The both of enter back into the apartment. Mom gives HK a silent acknowledging nod before heading off to Carol's room. You yawn and start shuffling to your own.

"Lewis." HK speaks up. "Orders? I am unsure of what to do."

You look again an see that Carol has wrapped her arms around HK's waist as if she were hugging a teddy bear, a big dumb smile on her sleeping face.

"Is it uncomfortable for you?" You ask.

"No." HK replies quickly and flatly.

"Then I think I'll let you keep an eye on her tonight." You grin as you pat the T-Doll on the head, taking her beret of as you do so. "Good night, HK. Don't let Carol eat your face off."

"Excuse me?" HK pauses. "Please clarify the previous statement."

"Good night!" You tease as you return to your room.

---

Later that morning, you're roused by the buzzing of your doorbell. Yawning, you throw on a jacket and begin shuffling toward the door. HK is up and alert as ever, her eyes glowing in the dim dawn light.

"I'm detecting three contacts outside the door." HK warns you. "Very likely modded."

"Yeah, I figured." You nod. Your biosensor corroborated HK's readings. Three readings right outside your door. You grab your sidearm and conceal it in the inner pocket of your robe. Just in case. You then activate the intercom. The screen flicks on, and you see two RCPD officers flanking a man wearing a dark suit and sunglasses, his blond hair slicked back fully like some sleazy businessman.

You actually would have written him off as as sleazy businessman if it weren't for the police escort and the badge he was wearing on his chest.

The RCPD Chief's badge.

"Who's there?" You ask cautiously through the intercom.

RCPD Chief Albert Wesker raises his face, staring straight into the camera, as if he was looking at you through the screen.

"I'm just here to talk." Wesker says smugly.

>And that's it for tonight! We'll continue things on Saturday, so don't miss it!

You freeze as the Chief of the RCPD himself was standing right at your front door. To "talk"? You were kind of wary of that claim, considering the heavy police escort he had. Did he always travel like this or was he expecting trouble?

Did Lucina know?

"It's rude to keep guests waiting at the door, you know." Wesker reminds you, that smug smile still plastered on his face.

You take a quick glance back. HK was still sitting on the couch, but Carol was gone. Smart move. Mom, you suppose was still in Carol's room in the back, so not immediately visible.

As much as you wanted to keep him out, you knew you didn't really have much of a choice. This was the goddamn chief of the RCPD, after all. Not to mention one of Umbrella's enforcers. Slighting him like refusing entry to him was pretty much tantamount to suicide.

"Yeah, I know." You say as you open the door slowly. "We just weren't expecting visitors at this hour."

"Don't worry, I won't keep you long." Wesker says as he calmly walks in. He gives a single gesture, and his two escorts stay behind outside. On the surface, it looked as if he was being courteous, but the move also served the dual purpose of keeping the front door locked down.

You motion for him to sit at the couch.

"Would you like anything to drink?" You ask.

"No, that's quite all right." Wesker shakes his head, neither his smile nor his sunglasses leaving his face. He then turns to HK, who was staring at him intently. "Ah, a T-Doll. I see our department was not the only group to be issued them."

HK remains silent, but still stares at him intently.

"My my, does it speak at all?" Wesker wonders.

"Currently in sentry mode." HK states simply, her voice devoid of emotion. "Observing for any signs of hostile activity."

"I see." Wesker's smile seems to grow even wider.

"So what exactly brings you to my apartment, Chief Wesker?" You ask, focusing his attention back on you.

"Ah, I suppose I can get right to the point." Wesker pulls a small data drive out of his pocket and gently sets it down on the table. "There is a rather... sensitive job that requires attention but is a bit out of my jurisdiction. I need a VIP recovered. Quietly, of course."

"I don't suppose I have any choice in this." You frown.

"No. Not at all." Wesker chuckles. "But don't worry, I'll make sure you're compensated handsomely."

Wesker then gets back up, leaving the data drive on the table.

"I've already discussed matters with your superior, and she had no objections either. I'll handle all of the transportation costs, too."

"Why thank you." You nod, trying to keep your cool.

"Happy hunting, Lewis. I'll be awaiting your response." Wesker gives a little wave before waltzing out your front door, but he stops just short. "By the way, how's your mother doing?"

Your heart stops.

"Hmmm, not really. You can just say she's a person of interest." Wesker gives another grin. A toothy one this time. "Give her my regards."

And with that, the RCPD Chief makes his exit. It's only when the door swings closed that you finally start breathing again.

"Lewis, are you all right?" HK is immediately there to help support you.

"A real sleazeball if I've ever seen one." Mom sighs, having somehow appeared behind you without you noticing.

Even HK is alarmed, her head swiveling with inhuman speed.

"Were you listening in?" You blink.

"Sorta." Mom yawns. "Carol woke me up and warned me. Figured I'd eavesdrop a little."

"What was that all about, then?" You point to the. "Why was Chief Wesker asking about you? Do you know each other?"

"Nope. Never met." Mom shrugs casually. "I have no idea who that creep is."

"Fucking figures." Mom sighs and shakes her head.

"Mommy! Language!" Carol pouts.

"Query." HK says. "Running background check on subject know as Alice yields no unusual resorts."

"Yeah, well, I had some good people make sure to keep it that way." Mom grumbles. "Guess those old farts on the Council weren't going to stay quiet forever."

You see Carol's hair immediately stand on end at the mention of this "Council". Whoever they were, it seemed like they were bad news.

"C'mon, HK, why don't you join us?" You as, motioning her to come forward.

"Oh no, I can't possibly-" HK shakes her head, but before she can finish her sentence, a black tentacle shoots out, wraps around the T-Doll, and reels her in like a fish. "Ah!"

"You heard Lewie!" Carol giggles. "If is says you're part of the family, then you are!"

"Welcome to the family." Mom grins.

"Can't.. compute." HK mutters. But she makes no attempt to break free.

"Now, this is all well and good." Mom grunts as she somehow manages to slip out of yours and Carol's grip. She's obviously gotten quite good at it. "But, I got a dark past to go cram back into its can. You, Lewis, have a job to do, and you two gotta make sure he doesn't get himself dead."

"Aye aye!" Carol salutes.

"Affirmative." HK nods.

"See ya around kids." Mom says a she opens up the sliding balcony door.

"Um, Mom, the front door's-"

"They might be watching it." Mom shrugs. "Plus this way's faster anyways."

And just like that, Mom casually leaps off the balcony.

"Haha! Looks like you really flustered Mommy there!" Carol giggles as she pats your head. "You really turned out to be the best little bro!"

"She's certainly an interesting woman..." HK observes, still staring at the empty balcony before her gaze falls to the data drive sitting on the table. "What about Chief Wesker's mission?"

"I need to have a few words with the Boss." You grunt. "She either must've been bribed or intimidated into letting Wesker boss me around like this, and that means he had to have bribed or LOT or REALLY intimidated her. Neither of which is good."

"Affirmative." HK nods and stands up, putting on her signature beret. "Shall we leave."

"Yeah." You and turn to Carol. "Sorry, but we're gonna have to skip breakfast this morning."

"I understand!" Carol nods. "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on the place in case they try to break in and plant bugs or something!"

"No eating anybody." You remind her.

"But they'd be trespassing! Punishing them for breaking rules like is okay, right?" Carol whines.

"No. Eating. People." You karate chop Carol on the forehead. "Period."

"Awwww, okay." Carol concedes.

With that, you and HK take your leave, heading out the front door. Almost immediately, you biosensor picks up nearby readings. As you suspected, Wesker had left behind a team to keep an eye on you.

"It looks like we're being tailed." HK whispers to you. "Orders?"

"Just ignore them for now." You instruct HK. "It's not worth starting anything with them."

"Affirmative." HK nods as she stays close to your side.

The drive to the office is uneventful, though you do note a heavier than usual police presence on the roads. It was subtle, but you every so often you'd catch a marked or unmarked police car just at the edge of your vision or hanging behind your car. Wesker wasn't exactly being subtle about this.

Finally, you reach the office, and it's only when you're inside that you feel some modicum of safety.

"Man, you either musta really pissed someone off or really impressed someone in Umbrella." Hank grunts as he welcomes you, drinking casually from a mug of coffee. "Albert Wesker himself comes out to give us a job! We got surveillance teams completely surrounding the building!"

"You don't seem to bothered about this." You frown.

"As a former cop, I know the guys they've posted here are harmless. Just the poor saps who pissed off the wrong supervisor." Hank shrugs. "I've had G here shuttling donuts and coffee out to them to grease their wheels."

"The Boss did instruct me to deduct all of this from your salary." G says calmly, carrying a box of fresh donuts.

"Aw crap." Hank groans. "Of course she'd cheap out on me now."

"So is the Boss here?" You ask.

"Yeah. Usual place." Hank nods to her office door. "Good thing you're here, too."

"Yeah..." You give a nod to Hank as you head up to the office, HK in tow.

Inside, you see the boss, looking bit more tired than usual, but she smiles all the same when she sees you enter.

"Hello Lewis." She greets you. "Hell of a day, huh?"

"You're telling me." You sigh as you sit down. "I got a personal visit from the Chief this morning."

"Yeah, he was pretty insistent that he get you for this little mission of his." The Boss sighs.

"So, did he give you the carrot or stick?" You ask.

"Little of column A, a little from column B." The Boss sighs loudly. "Looks like our friend Wesker has his eyes on a promotion."

"A promotion?" You raise an eyebrow.

"Remember we had a mission to investigate an Antarctic research base?" The Boss asks.

"Yeah, I remember seeing it on the list." You nod.

"Well, whoever got sent out to investigate it royally fucked up. By the time the UN sent a rescue team, all they found was a crater and a lot of bodies." The Boss crosses her arms. "Well, all except for one."

"Who?" You blink.

"It's all on that data drive he was carrying around." The Boss explains.

"I've already downloaded the contents." HK says. "I can display them if necessary."

"Please do."

HK's eyes then glow as they project a holographic image of what looks to be a scientist.

"Dr. Vahlen. One of Umbrella's top researchers." The Boss points out. "The fact that she's missing has the bigwigs in Umbrella panicking. She's been one of the leading forces behind their market share advantage. A person like that, there's a lot of people who can gain from being the ones to rescue her, or make sure she never comes back."

Great. Megacorp politics. Of course.

"So, officially, Dr. Vahlen has never left the company, but various factions within Umbrella are sending their own private forces down there to either find or kill her. Presumably, Wesker's in the former group."

"But he's not even officially part of the company." You frown. "Why go through all the trouble?"

"That's exactly why." The Boss snaps her fingers. "As Police Chief, he's a big fish in a very, VERY small pond. If he gets the credit for rescuing Umbrella's golden goose, he's going nowhere but up."

Is that so...

"And, that's pretty much the gist of it." The Boss leans back in her chair.

"But why approach me?" You frown. "There's countless other Hunters he could have gone to."

"Probably learned of you through Lucina. It's no secret how the two of you... interact." The Boss theorizes.

"There has to be more to it..." You frown. "Maybe if I talk to her..."

"Under this current level of surveillance, that is inadvisable." HK warns you.

"HK's right, that's a big risk.' The Boss nods. "Better you just take the mission and get it over with."

Your first destination is the armory, where Hank is already waiting for you.

"Going somewhere cold, huh?" He grins as he tosses a heavy jacket at you. "Here's all the standard cold weather gear you're gonna have to wear. Rated to keep you alive in full exposure conditions for up to twelve hours. Dunno, if HK will need it or anything."

"It will help in preserving my biological skin that protects my inner components." HK nods. "If properly protected, I am rated to operate indefinitely in cold weather conditions."

"All right, a set for two, then." Hank nods. "You're also going to be in full wilderness out there. You might want to pack extra survival gear for a protracted stay."

"Ideally we would spend a minimal amount of time exposed to the elements." HK counters. "Given the briefing data, encounters with enemy Hunters and mercenaries is highly likely. A more combat oriented loadout would be preferential."

"I agree with Hank, we need gear to help us survive the cold." You nod. "And if the station really is toast, then it's likely we're also going to need it to help keep Dr. Vahlen alive."

"Affirmative." HK nods.

"All right, so we'll triple the rations, add in portable shelters, heating units..." Hank goes through the list. "Extra sets of clothing. Damn this is gonna be a lot. Looks like you each will only be lugging around a single primary weapon, so you better pick well."

You consider your options. You could go with the standards assault rifle. Nice and versatile. Then again, a shotgun could also help. You could use custom shells, and the commonly low visibility in snowstorms and blizzards could force fights to get close. Or, a sniper rifle. Antarctica was basically a flat ice field with little cover. In good visibility, you would have commanding sight lines...

So engage at medium range and bring a PDW for when the flamethrower stops being useful. Not to mention, you can light up multiple enemies at the same time with one burst if the situation allows, e.g. if you have a group holed-up in cover.

And you'd definitely get more than just 6 uses out of the thing, even with a 20-second continuous run time (which is questionable).

And then you come to the attachments. The optics were easy enough to carry and swap around, but for the actual role your gun would play...

I'm entirely sincere when I say this- if THIS bugs you, probably don't want to stick around in this quest- there's likely gonna be a LOT more that sticks in your craw as things go on.

A semblance it's what you'd get. This is a Merc Command quest, it's going to be Waifus and Rule of Cool foremost.
Honestly, the fact that we have a Rifle with underslung Flamethrower, making both camps happy is fine with me. Though, I totally suspect that if we did get a full Flamethrower it'd be movie style with a little 100 meter on the back that ticks off 1% every second of burst.

You have to admit, you were kind of drawn to the flamethrower attachment. It was pretty heavy and bulky compared to the grenade launcher, but you figure it would be useful in the icy Antarctic environment. A little more fire was never a bad thing.

Meanwhile, it seemed that HK had also picked out her loadout, opting to go with the DMR build for her rifle. Definitely prepared for a long distance fight if it came to it.

"Looks like you two are all set." Hank nods. "You both better come back safe and sound or I'll kill you myself."

'Got it, Hank." You grin.

"Should we proceed?" HK asks.

Well, according to the data drive, there was already a private plane waiting for you at the airport. All you had to do was show up and Wesker's men would take care of the rest. But the drive also contained contact information to Wesker. Maybe one last call to him could help...

He's our employer after all, if he wants to get this done right, he's gotta be square with us.

Might as well get this out of the way so we don't get an angry Wesker yelling at us for messing up something.

Yeah that is a good point. Worst case he doesn't tell us anything.

"Yeah, come on." You nod as you pick up you carrying case. It was going to a long flight down to Antarctica. But at least you'd be flying there in an actual passenger plane.

HK quietly and casually picks up two massive cases holding the majority of the gear you would be needing. The feat being absolutely nothing to the T-Doll.

You just hope there wouldn't be any twists to this mission other than recovering this Dr. Vahlen.

But... knowing how Megacorp politics were, you were pretty sure this job wouldn't be nearly as simple as you would be hoping for.

>And that's it for tonight! Next thread starts on Friday, so see you then!

Thanks for the run, Boss.

Here's hoping we won't see hallucinations of a black cat in a snowstorm.
>>

See you next time!

I'm guessing we're going to see a lot of shit that warrants being put in cryogenic stasis ranging from limbs, people, and monsters.

Possible BOW in Antarctica, hmmmm

On a scale of 1 to 10 how likely are we're gonna come across The Thing?
>>
>>2987791
I'm thinking things related to the dreamcast RE game, but I wouldn't rule that out either.
>>
So how do we fuck over the chief while finishing the mission and not undermining Lucina’s work.

I do wonder if him getting promotion would end up helping her or thwarting her plans.
>>
>>2988296
To be honest, we were just barely brought into Lucina's conspiracy before the mission to Brazil and we barely got back before Wesker decided to hire us for the Antarctica mission.
Worst case scenario, the mission gets completed and Wesker either gets something but decides it's not good enough or barely something and gets internally pissed off at it.
Best case scenario, we find information on Umbrella that Lucina can use to fuck Umbrella over with or find a way to foil Wesker.
No matter what way you slice a pizza, I'm making a safe bet that Racoon City's gonna end up a funeral pyre at the end of this quest or just fucked up enough that it changes of a lot of stuff for our intrepid protagonists.
>>
>>2988296
>>2988489
Another absolute worst case scenario is for him to pit Lewis and Lucina against each other by finding out mutually exclusive objectives.

Kiss her nose, I want to see if she drops it

CZ 75.
Later we can upgrade to a First Model with the short rails for extra cool points.

Time for a tough topic:
Since we have enough female characters in the MercVerse, do you think it's time for a CROSSOVER BATTLE ARENA joke quest to find out who is the best girl in the terms of combat? If not a tournament, we could always go for Battle Royale.

We could have characters being able to change appearance and playstyle with alternate universe versions of themselves, or just put those skins locked behind DLC and Microtransactions.

I'd pay to see Full Power Carol face off against Full Power Cole.
>>
>>2989228
The best girl will always be Merc for giving us so much over these years
>>

OG Lucina wins. I mean she's the offspring of OG Tarin and RAMIREZ. She can DO EVERYTHING.
