We play as Percy a Pokémaniac with a knack for communicating with Pokémon.
He's on his way to become a professional trainer and find his calling in life.

Your team so far consists of:
Houndour
Mimikyu
Loudred
Vulpix (Alolan)
“Prince” (Elekid)

Traveling partners:
Kadabra

Status:
-Left Arm: Broken
-Keeping at bay a murderous psychic entity that’s invading our brain.

Last time:
We finally got our second badge, Percy got interrogated by the police. Solved Pokémon conflicts with violence, met a Bounty Hunter, found an ancient Pokémon civilization living in the ruins, our friend got out of a hostage situation. Had a rematch with a “rival” of sorts, and spent some quality time with our mons.

After battling some trainers, they Gym Leader, Dr. Henry Ford decided to accompany you to meet the ancient Golurks living deep in the ruins, you’ll be playing the role of a translator to get as much info as possible before you return to your journey.
You told your traveling companions about this detail, Eli sounded pretty displeased, Gareth didn’t care much, and Dick insisted on coming with. Right now, you are on your way to the ruin.

Meanwhile, at Silverpoint city, a detective finds himself in a crime scene. A series of heinous murders have terrorized the already dilapidated community, and it seems like the culprit behind those has finished with its latest victim

You’ve been on the line of duty for a long time now, thought you’ve seen it all.
All the crimes caused when organized crime and Pokémon trafficking run wild trough the nation, hit hard Silverpoint, you were just a rookie when the wave of violence drowned the city, you’ve seen feuds between trainers that got out of hand, Pokémon abuse, illegal battling to the death rings. But all of those cases had a clear motive. This, this is different.
The lifeless body of a young man lies on his apartment floor. 7 iron nails are deep into his body, 3 on each arm and single one on his forehead. The cause of death were the injuries caused by that last one. They are bent out of shape, and his body sports various bruises on the spots were the nails are located.
Strangely enough, there’s no signs of resistance.
It’s the fourth body found this way on the last 3 months, this case has just been assigned to you, the previous detective went missing a couple of days ago.
The body was found by the victim’s roommate a couple of hours ago.

[Ignacio]: Hey chief, seems like one of the neighbors heard something going on last night, but I’m having some trouble getting the info out of her. Care to give me a hand?

>Go interrogate the neighbor
>Let the kid handle it, he needs to learn how to do stuff on his own.
If so:
>Let’s go over the apartment, try to find anything out of place
>Interrogate the roommate, he’s the primary suspect

You tell the Rookie to buzz off and continue interrogating the neighbor, you can't be doing his job for him.

You'll take this chance to get some info out the roommate, he's the only one with a key to the apartment, besides the deceased and there's no signs of a forced entry.

>>3002580
Besides the rookie, you got an actual useful partner who is: (Pick one)

>A Xatu, you use him to teleport around as a means of transports, also to escape situations that get too ugly. Sometimes, he points you into the right direction when you are stumped.

>A Gumshoos, strong, intimidating and a damn good tracker, you've kept him around from your trainer days, it's the only Pokémon you've bothered to actually train to fight

>A Slurpuff, screw what the guys at the station think of a grown ass man with a fairy type. She has the best sense of smell of all Pokémon, can pick up the faintest of scents. Make other lower their guard around you.

>You have no need for critters, you carry around a double barreled, sawed-off shotgun that's more than capable of dealing with man and mon.

Your psychic partner is standing still as usual, unmoving and serene. He tends to weird out others with his fixed gaze.

You go towards the roommate, a young man of small frame, he doesn’t seem particularly shaken upon the death of his co-habitant, he’s nervous because of the murder, but it looks like they weren’t particularly close. From what he told you, they met each other at the local community college this semester, the victim needed someone to help pay the rent.

He negates firmly having anything to do with the death of the victim, the worst thing he ever did was neglecting to do the dishes. He had no reason to murder him in such fashion.

The college student tells you he left for a couple days for an intensive study session at an acquaintance house, his roommate didn’t care much for studying so he declined his invitation.

The student tells you he has no idea what did the victim due over the course of yesterday. They didn’t know each other very well, besides both being in the psychology course. What he can recall is that he worked part-time in a run-down bowling alley near here.

>Info acquired!
>Victim: John Moore
>Male 22

Your instincts tell you to:

Snooping around the apartment while recalling info about the previous victims.

You jog your memory to try and recall all the info you got of the previous four murders.

2 female and 2 males, all of various ages and different backgrounds.

The only thing they got in common is, that the 4 of them owned Pokémon, but 95% of Aztlan owns at least one Pokémon.

Two of the victims, the second and this one attended the same community college.

The first body only had a single nail driven into her forehead, she was found in the first days of april at the old mines a couple of days after her death.

The second victim was found almost 3 weeks later, with 3 nails on her forehead an one in each arm, floating at a public swimming pool.

The third one was found a month later buried in a dumpster with 5 nails in a similar way than this victim.

There seem to be no pattern in the timing of the attacks, and even though he tried to hide the body at the mines and in the dumpster, this and the public pool display are screaming for attention.

Time to snoop!

While you remember more about the previous cases from what you read from your predecessor notes you can determine that no victim put resistance.

>Failed roll

You decide to snoop around the room of the victim, there's not much to give you a hint. It's just a normal, albeit messy room. There's various notebooks with notes from university lectures, seems like he did some reviewing for the last test of the semester that his roommate was preparing for, so the unlikely case of suicide has become even more unlikely.

Besides that, there's just trash and dirty clothing laying on the floor. There's nothing really important in the rest of the house. There's not even any useful trace in the crime scene.

Seems like the rookie is returning once again...

Let's see how he did with his questioning
DC: 75
>>
>>3003033
No dice, the only things that he could get from the neighbor was that, the guy arrived home in the early morning, he had trouble opening up his own door, and his steps were loud and irregular, and he wouldn't stop slobbering incoherently, seems like he arrived drunk or at least intoxicated from a substance.

The neighbor negated to answer more question as "You pigs are only harassing her, if you did your job properly, this kind of things wouldn't happen" She threatened your partner with "legal trouble" if the police kept harassing her.

The Rookie didn't know what to do so he returned back. He's pretty useless.

You still have time to conduct some investigation, the forensics team will notify you if there are any findings in the body.

You should:

>Let's go to the community college, try to get some info on the victim
>Go to the bowling alley where he used to work

With no more leads to go by, you decide to go the Anthony’s Bowling Alley. You'll leave the Rookie behind just in case he notices something you've missed.

You enter the run-down establishment, the stained carpet with psychedelically patterns exudes a certain unpleasant smell that fills the place, young workers wait bored to death behind the counter, there’s an old a dirtied snack bar that offer overpriced greasy food. Tattered billiards tables, old vending machines. In the wood floors, old men with nowhere else to go play various rounds while drinking beers, they are probably regulars among here.
A couple of teenagers are playing in another lane, they seem to be regretting coming over. The owner of the place should be lounging about in his office.

You should:
>Question one of the victim’s coworkers
>Go straight to his boss
>The nervous worker seems more likely to squeal, get some info out of him
>Talk with the regulars, they shouldn’t have nothing to hide.
>Other-write in

And, this is important.

You go over the counter where a lanky employee in a red polo shirt that has long ago los it’s natural color greets with you with a very obvious uneasiness.

[Employee]: G-good afternoon, mr. Policeman, you are in luck, until 7:00 pm, renting a lane for an hour it’s only $350, pretty cheap right?

[Detective Belascoaran]: I’m not here to bowl, I just want some info in one of your coworkers. John Moore, student at Silverpoint community college, 22 years old, about 6 ft tall, sounds familiar?

[Employee]: Sure, I know him, did he get in trouble with the law?

[Detective Belascoaran]: I’ll tell you about it after you answer me, I just want some info on the guy, nothing more.

From what you can gather by the nervous 20 something, Johnny Moore was quite the social fellow, well known by the regulars here. Had a girlfriend who went to the same college as him. And apparently, he wasn’t in good terms with his family.

Loved to party and loved to drink, always blew a big chunk of his meager paycheck to indulge in it. He was working here yesterday afternoon, they just got paid and Johnny didn’t want to wait until the weekend to throw his money away. So, he went to Silverpoint’s main night-life attraction. “Penumbra Theater” a Nightclub/ Pokémon-Gym, he left with his girlfriend yesterday.

He knew a lot of people, but the employee tries to assure you he wasn’t involved in anything illegal as far as he knows.
For some reason, Xatu keeps his gaze fixed behind the counter.

>That’s good enough, you’ll go to the club before it opens its doors and fills to the brim
>Ask what’s behind the counter, take it forcefully if he’s lying

You cut the chase and ask him what he is hiding behind the counter, you take a peek to notice a medium sized bag, he claims to have nothing to hide, it just his change of clothes, you don’t buy it and neither does Xatu.

“Then, you should have no problem if a take a quick look”

Without any regards for the employee, you push him aside, take the bag an examine it’s contents. He wasn’t lying about having a change of clothes, it, besides that, he’s carrying various plastic packets filled with various colorful pills with caricature depictures of electric type Pokémon.

The young man flips out and starts ranting about how those aren’t his, he was just taking care of them for Johnny, all the other employees notice his discomfort and they’ve notified the owner of this place.

You recognize this, stun spores mixed with who knows what other shit, they call it “Nuzzle”, it became popular among young people recently, he tells you that if you let it slip he’ll give you more info regarding Johnny and the drugs. He tells you to act quick since his boss is probably coming to check on the two of you.

>Accept, get him to talk and let this go

Right now, your main focus is solving this case, got no time to waste arresting potential pill-pushers. Besides, it seems you’ve racked enough attention from the rest of the employees as well as the patrons of this establishment.

[Employee]: Alright. Johnny’s been working her for a long time now, he started bringing this stuff here after hanging out with some sketchy bunch.

[Detective Belascoaran]: Would he be the kind of guy to get involved with a gang?

[Employee]: Probably not a gang, those guys don’t seem like thugs, but they are definitely pushing the pills. There’s something off about them. Can’t quite describe it, like if there weren’t “there” most of the time, probably cuz they are drugged out most of the time. I didn’t want to mention them, getting involved in that kind of business is dangerous in Silverpoint.

Johnny told the employee to hold onto his pills since he was going out with his girlfriend last night and she disapproved very heavily of his habit. This, and his recent acquaintances have caused a lot of trouble between them.

He goes on to tell you a bit more about them, there’s three of them, they seem 20-ish, 2 guys and a girl. They seem like normal college students besides that strange absent look they sometimes sport. John was closest to the girl, much to his girlfriend distaste.

>A tall, dark skinned youth, muscular complexion, shaved head, named Marcus apparently, has a Voltrob tattoo on his left arm.
>A short, skinny dark hared man, wears glasses most of the time, has a noticeable scar on his neck
>A short haired girl with purplish tint, occasionally dresses in a gothic Lolita fashion. Named Alexis.

You thank the guy and leave the establishment, you aren’t sure if you should tip another officer about the employee with the pills.

Before leaving you reveal to the employee that this questioning is because of the murder of his co-worker. He seems visibly scared and surprised, he can’t believe someone would straight up kill him, sure he got some problems with his girlfriend and his friend seem weird but they don’t seem like murderers.

As you leave the establishment you feel eyes on your back. It’s currently 7:30 pm. How you should go about your investigation. Also, you got a new message. The Rookie was handed some of the notes of the previous detective leading this case, they seem to be incomplete and aren’t particularly useful, it’s just a bunch of dates and seemingly unrelated notes, maybe he got more notes back in his house

>Focus on finding the girlfriend for further questioning.

Mediocre, I'm surprised you got the drugs' description right. Even in real life they're contained in weird packets, with weird pictures to entice children and retards to take them, and named shit like "herbal potpourri" and all sorts of other misleading words riddled with typos.
In reality, anything you ingest from a packet like that is most likely some fucked designer drug or a mixture of chems that will almost certainly leave you on the ground with a stopped heart (along with other nasty symptoms) within at least 20 minutes. Pic very fucking related, taken at a visit to a local ME's lab.

You tell Ignacio to head out to the Detective’s house and try to get the rest of his notes, if there’s any.

Xatu teleports you to the entrance of the club, there’s a line forming already. All the youngster with no discernable future in sight spend their nights fling the premises of the stylized buildings.

Groups of beggars try to get a coin out of the attendees, most of them are met with views of disgust, pity at best. Security doesn’t wait long to drive them off the place, their mons intimidates them and keeps them out.

Even in the most prominent business in the city, the specks of poverty and misery are ever-present.

You try and get some info out of the security guards, but all of them work looking outside of the building, having no luck you go to the bouncer who’s guarding the front door with his Pangoro, the burly man accedes to talk after showing him your badge.

“Yeah, the guy is a regular here, came with some friends around 11:00 pm, left with a short haired girl in one of those weird black dresses with frills at around 3:00 am”

According to the bouncer descriptions, John was with the group mentioned by his co-worker, strangely enough, there was no mention of his actual girlfriend whom he left the bowling alley with last night. The victim was acting serious and a bit aggressive when he arrived, but he left in his usual carefree self.

You would like to question the security guards inside of the premises, maybe see the recordings from last night. But the bouncer tells you off, just letting you enter by the front door, or even using the employee’s only back door, would cause an uproar with the line of attendees. If you want to get in, you’ll need to get in line. Or come back tomorrow morning

Just who the hell this punk think he is, obstructing the way of the LAW.

[Detective Belascoaran]:This is a murder investigation, there’s a serial killer on the loose and his latest victim was a kid from this club. FOURTH fucking murder in the last three months. I’m just trying to do my damn job here, to make the city a less shitty place to live, to put a stop to the lunatic doing this, bring him to justice.

[Detective Belascoaran]:What'll your boss say if the next murdered kid is also from here, and you could've prevented it?

[Detective Belascoaran]:We have enough problems in this city as it is. Just let me look at the damn tapes, nothing more, nothing else.

[Bouncer]: You sound pretty idealistic for a rugged detective, I can respect that. Everyone just gives up on this shithole. And we both know the Gym Leader couldn’t care less about this.

[Bouncer]: Alright, I’m not an asshole, just enter quickly and watch out for the crowd.

Xatu makes a strange motion, pointing to the ground, is he saying there’s something you need to check down in the basement? He has a unexplainable sense to detect leads.

Someone flung a rock at your head, there’s a sharp pain followed by the warmth of fresh blood. It’s nothing serious, you’d had worse.

Xatu was telling you too duck.

The crowd is stirring some trouble, pissed that they let a “pig” enter first.
There’s no respect left for the armed forces.

You are directed to the surveillance station, for the next pair of hours you examine the video tape. Everything is pretty normal, you can see Johnny enter the bathroom and come out with janky movements but somehow more relaxed. He left his stash with his coworker, so he must’ve gotten more “Nuzzle” after leaving work and before arriving at the club.

These guys are definitely the ones supplying him.

The group of four mostly keep to themselves, the victim and the girl with purplish hair are the only ones dancing, they seem way too close for just casual acquaintances, slobbering over each other. Strangely enough, Johnny seems like the only one under the influence of the pills.

Around 1:00 AM a strange man approaches the other two, who’ve kept to themselves drinking alone. He’s wearing jeans and a grey colored hoodie that obscures his face. They exchange words for no more than 5 minutes and then the guy simply walks out of the frame and is never seen again. It’s the only time these two interact with anyone else.

The security guards tell you that the four of them come quite frequently, and there’s a good chance they’ll be here tonight since they never miss Thursday’s happy hour.

You searched for more footage containing the guy, but he simply isn’t there. From sundown to sunrise, those five minutes are the only moment he appears on video. While searching for him you find another familiar face, it’s the girlfriend, she only stays for a brief while before leaving.

The silent pair of men are the first to leave the premise, while Johnny and the girl kept dancing trough the night before leaving at a later hour.

The Rookie messaged you, after talking with the wife of the missing detective and gaining permission to search his studio he found the missing notes and he is trying to piece it together, besides he’s offering some protection to the distressed wife, who swears something is around the house.

He would like you to come over and help him interpret this mess of scribbles, it seems that the detective was researching ancient Aztlantian history, specifically it’s calendar.

It’s getting pretty late and the club is getting pretty crowded. You should.

You’ll leave the club for the night. The Rookie could use some help and if the previous detective was in the right track before his disappearance this could prove vital to the case.
You waste no time to get there. Nice house, Detective Veicht left it with an emotionally unstable wife and a pair of children, reminds you of your own family before the divorce. There’s been no signs of him for a week now. Some say the case was getting to him and offed himself, others, that he escaped with his lover leaving the family behind.

Anyways, Mrs. Veicht is glad you came, ever since her husband disappeared she has been feeling insecure, as if something was watching over her at every turn.

You conduct yourself to the detective’s old studio.
Damn, you knew that guy could get obsessive, but not like this.
There’s tons of papers and notes left behind, a good chunk of them are pinned on the walls forming endless lists of locations and names as well as a map of Silverpoint marking the sites where the murders occurred.

You and the rookie discuss his findings, during the last weeks of investigation, Detective Veicht researched thoroughly about the beliefs of ancient tribes, their astronomy and rites, as well as a list of various missing persons who Veicht believed were also victims of the serial killer that had yet to be found. Another interesting finding was an extensive list of the killer next victims, it included John Moore’s, the victim’s name.

Marked in red letters, appearing in many of his notes there’s something called “The Feast” but there’s not clear explanations of what it is.

There’s also a phone number belonging to “Professor Cornelius”, It seems like he was he contact to research all of this.

As you and the Rookie try to make more sense out of this mess there’s a blackout. Seems like it’s going on in all the block. The sound of crystal breaking is followed by shriek coming from the living room, it’s the wife. You can hear steps around the house. Trough the window you can see a humanoid figure make his way through the streets hurriedly. It seems to be fleeing the scene.

>Go with the wife
>Go after the fleeing figure.
>Stay inside the room.

The Rookie should:
>Come with you

>Stay in the room?

You sprint outside the house to follow the figure and instruct the Rookie to stay back and guard the documents.

[Detective Belascoaran]: Silverpoint Police Department! Drop to the ground!

Shouting at the suspect while raising your gun, even if he can’t see it in the darkness. He has no intentions of slowing down.

You tell Xatu to stop him using Tail Wind to catch up to him and hold him in place. Your Pokémon obliges and with a flap of his a current of air rises, improving his speed greatly, the Pokémon flies through the darkness aiming at the fleeing figure.

>Failed roll.

As your partner flies to catch up to the to figure a series of loud *BANGS* can be heard, the hunched figure turned it’s back in the nick of time and emptied his gun onto your partner.
The light from the shots briefly illuminate the scene, it’s not a hunched man, it’s a Pokémon. A Smeargle wearing human clothes.
His aim is far from good, almost all his shots miss Xatu, asides from the last two that injury his wing. The Pokémon flees the scene, but in the commotion, he dropped something to the ground.
You call Xatu back to his ball, you better get him to a center as quick as possible, in the meantime, being in his Pokéball should keep him from bleeding out.

The object dropped to the floor seems like a small video camera, it broke down because of the fall but its memory seems to be fine.

You try to look for the Smeargle with no results, soon after, the power returns, the light from the various houses turn on, you return to the house to see if Mrs. Veicht and the Rookie are all right. The Wife is unharmed, just scared by the whole event. Seems like Ignacio did a good job guarding the documents left by the previous investigator, everything is just as just left it, besides for one thing. The rookie is missing.

Soonish, policemen are flooding the precinct. Neighbors reported the gunshots to the authorities, after clarifying everything you are left to your own. You go to heal your partner in the nearest center.

The nurse removes the bullets from his wings, he's not in a worrying condition but he shouldn't fly for a while.

The Rookie assigned to you is currently missing, there’s an armed Smeargle on the loose and your partner is injured.

>Talk with Xatu & make sure she’s ok, Partners trust each other in this line of work, just going home and looking at the memory might be bad.
>>
>>3005643
>>3005658

It’s getting late, better return home to examine the contest of the memory. It must be something important if that Smeargle tried to steal it. His trainer must be the culprit behind these series of murders, or could it be that more than one person is involved?

On your way back, you have a talk with your partner, to see if he’s doing fine. Xatu is not used to battle against other mons, but he has seen his fair share of injuries on this line of duty. He doesn’t seem to hold it against you, you had no way to know that the Smeargle was armed with a gun.

Returning to your small apartment, you feed Xatu , make some instant ramen for yourself and pop up the memory card in your computer. There’s too many videos, at least a hundred of them. Divided by categories, most of them are just the detective Veicht Staravia flying around the city. The ones filed under “Suspect ” show a particular man, you can’t make out his facial features as Staravia doesn’t get to close to him, his unkempt appearance and worn out hoodie suggest he may be a hobo. Staravia tails him for hours at the time. But he doesn’t seem to stay long in any specific location. Begging at public parks, outside hospitals, the community college, Penumbra theater, Poké-marts and Pokémon centers.

And somehow, every time Staravia loses track of him, like when he enters an abandoned building, gets on a bus, or a public restroom, he never comes out, never appearing again in the videos.

There’s another file, filled with shorter albeit still long recordings. It’s the inside of an abandoned building, Detective Veicht seems to be filming, he rarely speaks a word during the whole thing. The place seems in a really bad state, there’s short stretch hallways filled with various rooms, perhaps a hotel of sorts. He goes around the place at a slow pace, examining every room thoroughly.
Beside the occasional homeless and wild Pokémon littering the place, there’s not much going on there. Until, he arrives at a certain floor. The stairs seem to be inaccessible to some of the rooms, and the elevator has long ago stopped functioning. So, he sends Staravia with the camera to find an entrance to the next floor.
The flying type finds a broken window where he can fit, he explores the for a bit before stumbling upon a strange scene. A group of people, all wearing similar long garments, dirty oversized robes sit around surrounding a bigger figure wearing a similar attire. They notice his presence and start moving towards him, judging by the way they move, some, if not most of them aren’t human.

Staravia rushes to the nearest window, breaking it with his beak and returns with the detective, squawking to alert his partner. Both of them rush to the exit as fast as the can as the hooded figures start giving them chase.
The video becomes janky before it ends.

It's really late now. But at the very least you've done some progress in the case.

The morning sun rises, staying up late watching all that footage makes the morning feel like shit. As soon as possible you call Professor Cornelius to put him up to date with the situation. He’s actually glad to hear from the police department, ever since Veicht disappearance, no one has tried to contact him regarding this case, but that didn’t stop him from investigating on his own.

The two of you agree to meet at a dinner near the community college so you can brief each other on your latest findings before his lectures.

The detective and the professor rendezvous in the small but cozy establishment, got some bacon & egg and currently downing a cup of black coffee to get some energy back.

Professor Cornelius is an history major, and old short man, with a particular interest on ancient Aztlan history, mainly, the culture of the tribes living in the southern and central parts of the region. According to him, Veicht believed the victims weren’t chosen at random. At first glance there was no correlation between the deceased, but, by mere chance discovered something.
The birthday of the victims were 48 days apart, at first, he thought it was some sort of sick mathematical puzzle and consulted it with a colleague of mine, but there seemed to be no answer to this problem.

If there were truly two missing victims as many believe, the ones with 2 and 4 nails. Going by logical assumptions there should a period of 24 days between the victim’s day of birth, this matches the calendar used by various ancient cultures of Aztlan, they divided the year in 15 periods of 24 days, with a final five-day long celebration. Saying that every victim was born on the first day of the month going by ancient Aztlantic standards.
These 15 “months” correspond to a different type of Pokémon. The first one is “Rock”, the victim with one nail on her head was found in the old mines.
The third one would be “Water” the victim with three nails, was found in a public swimming pool.
The fifth one is “Poison”, the victim with five nails was found in a dumpster.
The seventh one “Normal”, the last victim was found in his apartment, it may be a stretch, but it checks out.

While it was rare, some ancient cultures realized human and Pokémon sacrifices in order to appease their “deities”. The Professor has been trying to find any examples of the current situation in one of the various tribes that inhabited Aztlan ages ago.

He would like to share with you some of his research with you, he has an organized compendium of his notes back at his office at the college. The man seems a little too enthusiastic about the whole situation, considering this is a murder case. As you and the Professor walk out of the establishment a body falls from the roof of 12 stories tall building.

A suicide?
>>
>>3006071
The body crashes on the ground. It’s bruised and broken from the fall, the face is unrecognizable, but it appears to be an older woman. In her twisted arms there seem to be nails driven into them. 4 in the right one, 3 on the left one. If your suspicions are correct she should have one on her forehead, but her head became a mess after the impact.

Onlookers scream or gather around the scene, the professor is vomiting his guts out. Xatu fixes his gaze towards the building the women fell down.

The eight month was “Flying”.

You call in the station to let them know of the current situation, and to get some backup. They shouldn’t take long to arrive.
You and your psychic partner are searching for any suspicious individuals trying to flee the crime scene. Most people gather around the scene as onlookers while others or take a quick glance at the sinister occurrence before going on their way.
Xatu points to two different persons making their way out of the street rather hurriedly, without wasting time to look at the body. You can recognize one of them, is the tall dark youth who was seen with John (the victim) at “Penumbra Theater” the night of his death, the other is an unkempt, homeless-looking man, could he be the one that appears in the videos Veicht took?

They are walking rather fast, and they’ll probably try to run off if they notice you chasing them. You could try to follow one and alert the incoming officers to be on the lookout for the other.

You tail behind the suspect as he makes his way through the street, keeping close to the buildings. He doesn't seem to notice you right away, so you press your luck to get closer and assure that Confuse Ray of hitting him.

He doesn't seem particularly cautious, or conscious at all. You command Xatu of using his move, the strange ball of light goes toward the suspect, he turns his head to see Xatu firing his attack and starts running.

It's like if something warned him of what you were doing at the last moment. You give chase to him, he's not very fast, it's like if something was weighing him down.

He makes a turn in a small alley, you and Xatu pursue, your companion is firing Thunder Waves at him but he's a bit too far away.

His body starts disappearing, you think your eyes are playing tricks on you. But that's what it is, as he runs from you, his legs, arms, torso and head disappear, leaving behind a strange red zig-zag pattern where the body parts should be.

Those Zig-zag patterns disappear shortly after, you can only hear the steps of the suspect, you try to follow him by sound to no success.

Were those Kecleon? That hobo should have half a dozen over him to pull that kind of shit. Maybe, you could try to use your devon scope you got laying around in your apartment

After that botched capture attempt, you go back with Porfessor Cornelius to get his notes. He made the effort to try and organize all the results from Veicht investigations. His studio was a mess Afterall, and more than professional investigation many of his notes seemed to stem from obsession bordering and an unstable mindset. He thought getting everything in order would make the police take Veicht investigations, that blamed the killings on an ancient cult with a more open mind

Cornelius understands why he acted that way, the third victim was a teen the age of one of Veicht’s sons. And when he discovered that her youngest daughter was a candidate for the 13th victim, Veicht went hard on the case.

“If you’ve seen his studio, you know what mess it was”

The notes contain a list of possible future and missing victims, highlighting every person gone missing on the last few months, as well as to include places where the missing bodies could be located, and possible locations for the appearance of the next victims. Cornelius was right on the money on this last murder.

Seems like none of the potential victims of the 9th murder has gone missing, also. The Rookie, Ignacio Taibo is a potential victim for the 10th murder.

He has to give some lectures so he give you his notes, he says that if you want to discuss them further, he’ll be meeting with a group of his most accomplished students that have been aiding him in this investigations, he apologizes for involving more civilians with this case, but he just want to help as much as possible. He believes finding the other victims could lead to the location of the murderer.

The notes contain information of various culture that practiced human sacrifices, most of them were located in the deep south, and were offered to their rulers or protectors, giant spirits of nature.

There’s some notes of the tribes living in Central Aztlan, where the great breach is located. Either at the start of each month, or when a child was born in the first day of them they would conduit a human sacrifice to a divine being. “The Entombed one”

Right now, most officers helping out this case are currently examining the new crime scene, but there's a small group still searching for the Rookie.

Concerning this search party.

>Keep searching for the Rookie
>Search for the potential victims of the next murder, guard them
>Search for the missing victims using the list of potential locations.

You make a call to give the order to the search party guarding the potential next victims, if Veicht and Cornelius investigation is right this should stop the murders from happening.

Taking the notes with you, you don’t waste time to return to your apartment. Hooking up the Devon scope with your computer and trying to run the marked videos using Devon Scope functions. It takes some time to convert the videos to the appropriate format and the resulting image has lost some quality, but finally you got answers.

The hobo is never alone, a group of Kecleon stays near him wherever he goes, they use their camouflage abilities to cover each other zig-zag spot, when the Hobo goes trough an alley, enters a building, or takes a turn on the streets, the Kecleon cover him and serve as a makeshift camouflage. Making it seems as if he suddenly disappeared or teleported somewhere else.

You guess this is the same trick that hooded man pulled at the night club. There’s only one problem. The Starvaria that was following the Hobo didn’t have a Devon Scope! So most of the subsequent footage after the hobo becoming invisible isn’t particularly useful, still he seemed to get lucky a couple of times and unknowingly filmed glimpses of the suspect actions. Thanks to this you are able to pinpoint a general area where the Hobo is going. One of Silverpoint most run-down districts. There’re few buildings as tall as the one in Veicht’s last video so that’s a good starting point.

Lights have been flickering lately, you really hope there’s no more blackouts happening, that would mess your investigation real bad.

You got some messages, the officers at the station managed to get some info out of the other suspect. He’s a student at Silverpoint university, he claims that he was in a hurry since he was going to be late to class, says he has no relation to the crimes even though he knew the previous victim, John Moore. Didn’t had any Nuzzle on him but later they are going to send any officer with free time to his apartment to search for the pills.

The suspect directed the officers to a girl named Alexis, she was the one to leave the club with the Victim, she’s currently attending a meeting with other students at a Professor’s house. The address he gave is the same Professor Cornelius gave you.

Currently all officers under your disposition are busy guarding potential victims. You should.

>Stay here, keep examining the videos, try to pinpoint the exact building where the Hobo goes

Before anything happens, you start making a back up of all the evidence you got so far to store it safely in your secret stash, a medium sized compartment hidden in the wall behind your bed. These power outages, could they be done on purpose? You ask Xatu if you are being paranoid, he nods serenely and hands you the notes that the professor gave you so you can keep them safe as well.
A little paranoia is almost a requirement in this line of work.

After everything is safely stored you and Xatu teleport to the district where the Hobo was heading in the videos. In a split second you find yourself in the middle of a dirty dilapidated street.

The street lighting is beyond poor, only one out of every three to four light poles are working, bums fill the place, the stench of smoke and garbage fill the air. Ever since Blackstone drove out of business the local silver refinery and bought the mines the living conditions here have only worsened as time goes by. The same could be said about almost all of this city.

You use the Devon scope in search for more Kecleon to no avail, better start walking and checking the tallest buildings. The place on the video Veicht took should be at least 10 stories tall.

Your partner fixes his gaze towards a particular building, he’s sensing something coming from there. You ask him if it’s the thing you saw on the video, he is not sure of what it is, he just knows something is in that building.
If you want to call for backup you should at least get proof of the cultist presence, right now, most officers have their hands full. You also take the chance to send some question to the professor regarding the case so he can ask Alexis discreetly about it.

It’s not rare for Xatu to point you into the right direction, he’s got a knack to direct you into the right direction. It’s not something you can always rely on, but you can’t count the times it has helped you on your cases.
You make way to the building pointed by your mon, it’s not har to force the door open and make your way inside, being met with…
Roll a d3, taking second roll,

>1: Somebody being kept captive inside one of the various rooms of the building
>2: A room filled with notes and scribbles, you’ve been hearing steps behind you

The cult is tied to the region's south side. The south had giants (like Yellow King) alongside the humans in the big bloody war. And there's not only humans but Pokemon NOT in Pokeballs working alongside humans, to an odd degree of physical coordination and strategy. The difference between the two sides was
>North = Construct/object Pokemon and proto-Pokeballs in the start of the trainer system
>South = Dragon types and Behemoths (giant mons) in a monarchy (or feudal style?) ruler/subjects system with both humans AND mons
and this is definitely a South Aztlan murder cult sacrificing shit to something that may or may not be a legendary. That "Entombed One” from >>3007940 definitely sounds like a legendary to me, but it's in Central Aztlan and not South Aztlan - and it might not be the same deity they doing these sacrificial murders for...
Something else odd is that the people being ritualistically killed have signs that point to them being WILLINGLY SACRIFICED. Are they really just secret followers of the faith (which I doubt) or did they get some of that ol' brainwashing shit going on?

Either way, I completely expect all this to be relevant in some way to the main quest. Already Silverpoint sounds like a far shitter city than Percy's hometown of North Pass - and Mediocre has not pulled any punches yet in his quest. He's got
>drugs and how they fuck people up (Succession War veteran in the manor)
>organized crime (Team Rocket confirmed to exist in-universe, and maybe Team Skull too? not sure about the others)
>tactical black ops (the way the rebellion rescued the leader from the prison, and the way the Blackstone 'security' goons suppressed the house full of other Whismur)
>Pokemon abuse (Kali and Growlithe, Dick and Alexandro until we sorted them out)
>Pokemon dying or being killed (Mimikyu until we saved him, all the mons Victoria flayed alive and turned into living dolls, Ghost Pokemon existing to an extent)
>Pokemon being eaten, people being eaten (all but shown)
>ancient warfare and modern warfare (legendary region-wide war and the Succession War, actual superancient metal bunkers made by a previous civilization, multiple war vets seen in the story with actual PTSD, multiple cases of guns in-story, and "I’m legally obliged to tell you that if the Aztlan republic finds itself participating in armed conflict, you as a Trainer are now legally bound to defend the integrity of the nation." from thread 6)
>children getting traumatized and worse (all of Victoria's existence, Dick getting his memories blurred/disrupted due to Victoria's influence, Percy getting body-puppeted into almost killing a mon with his bare fucking hands, etc.)
>illegal experimentation and craptons of "that's just wrong" tier shit (what we know of White Veil from Victoria interludes, and of course other obvious things you know the worst most degenerate anons of /vp/ and /trash/ would do in-universe)
>>
I imagine /fly/ to be really chill with high above pics.

Your steps resound on the empty hallways of the building , the psychic bird guides you trough the darkness, the unkempt building used to house the resident of the district when the industry bloomed, and still does to this day, even tough the homeless and wild Pokémon don’t pay any rent.

You and Xatu make way to the upper floors, the stairs leading to the eight one have long broken down, walking through the seemingly empty 7th floor you finally stumble onto a room that looks identical to the others, yours locked, partner confirms you this is the place. Room 713

The door is looked but that doesn’t stop you from forcing it open. The room seems normal at first glance until you notice a small trap door onto the ceiling, it should lead to the previously blocked floor. Opening reveals a ladder, you waste no time to climb it, trying to be as quiet as possible. It leads you to another room, one that seems different from the rest, judging by it having an actual mattress on the bed. The door is open, you can hear steps coming near you, peeking trough the open door you can see a group of people in the same dirty robes that the ones in Veicht’s videos used, judging by their statures, there’s either kids or midgets involved on this, or those small ones are Pokémon.
This is it! This is the place!
Still, you got no hard evidence that this people are linked to the murders, besides Veicht and the professor’s speculations.

You could try and convince the guys back at the station, so you can raid this place with all your firepower, maybe Professor Cornelius could help but the old coot hasn’t responded to your message.
Capturing one of the cultists to question him could be viable, but they seem to travel in group. And getting out of here without Xatu’s teleportation could prove difficult.
Or you could try and end this yourself, you got your gun and your partner with you.

>Go get the professor, try to convince the guys at the station

Creeping behind the hooded figures, trying to keep yourself calm and unheard. The group of men and the small cultist whose robes are too big for them are leaded by a hunched figure with yellowish skin, he is carrying a small object on his right hand, a pendulum of sorts.

They walk towards the centers of the floor, various rooms had their walls and ceilings torn apart to make some sort of central meeting place. With the state of the place it’s a miracle the whole thing hasn’t crashed down upon them. There’s a makeshift throne too big for any human being at the center. A gargantuan figure walks towards it, he’s larger than any person you’ve seen before, but for some reasons his steps don’t make a sound. It’s like he’s floating. Covered in robes with the same patterns than the cultist, he sits down on the throne.

Another group or people approaches, you can hear moaning and grunting, they seem to be dragging someone else with them. How? All of the possible victims for the ninth rite should’ve been secured? Nobody was missing! Was the professor wrong? Or did he give you a fake list?

It’s an elderly man, he whimpers as he dragged onto the center of the room.

The man who dragged him approaches another of the cultists, he gives him a package containing various colorful pills that seem familiar.

Various cultist scatter, they go to get everything ready for the ritual, you kept yourself hidden behind a hallway, this could be your chance….

>Keep hidden, takes pictures and video of the ritual, this should be more than enough proof (Low DC)
>Try and follow one of the cultists that went to get the materials for the ritual, knock him out and get out of here! (Medium Dc)

This must be the resident Behemoth ruler of this area, the Yellow King analogue. Ghost type or a mon with Levitate?
>a hunched figure with yellowish skin
This could be any mon or sickly human.
>a pendulum of sorts
Symbolic or literal? Motion? Time?
>he gives him a package containing various colorful pills that seem familiar
They're using the drugs to make the victim complacent and willing to be sacrificed? There's never a sign of struggle at any crime scenes we know of. Wouldn't anyone try to call for help or draw attention or make a sign the moment they realize they're under the influence of something? Or are the cultist mons aware of this and actively stop them from doing anything until the drugs take hold?

Bringing the man to the station as a witness is your main concern, once he gives all the details to the rest of the forces there shouldn't be a long wait to raid this place.

You tell Xatu to teleport with the man, you'll stay behind since teleporting multiple people can prove hard for your mon, especially if they aren't close to him like the elderly man various meters away from you.

Xatu focuses on his target, the old man that's being used as a sacrifice using Miracle Eye to assure his teleportation doesn't miss the target from this distance.

His eyes shine brightly for a moment, some of the cultist seem to notice this bright glow of his eyes turning their heads onto your direction but you and Xatu remain hidden. You should act fast before they divert everyone's attention to you and your partner.

The potential victim seems mostly scared and confused, wishing to get out of here so he shouldn't put any resistance to the teleportation.

It's time to act.

>DC: 65 (Lowered thanks to the use of Miracle eye and you staying behind)

Your partner takes a moment to give you a solemn look, he extends his healthy wing and pats you on the arm gently, it's his way to tell you to take care. You respond to him with a confident look. "I'll see you soon partner."

Xatu's body faintly glows for a split second before disappearing alongside the old man, much to the cultist confusions. From the sound they are making you can confirm all the small ones and a good part of the adult looking ones are in fact Pokémon.

This means you can ask the Capture and Defense Forces for backup, after you get out of here alive first.

The giant in the middle stands, he's easily over three meters tall, the only detail you can make of it's face is an eerily glowing red eye.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jQbnaeQc0c

Letting out a strange pitched cry all the cultist scatter around, trying to find whoever did this. The cultist that noticed Xatu's miracle eye direct their leader to your position, he seemingly floats to you, mere meters separate you and him.

You got no time to spare, you can only hope that Xatu returns soon. You take your 9mm handgun out of it's holster and get ready for anything.

You can feel your heart start to accelerate as the figure approaches.

A familiar noise is heard, Xatu is back for you! Unfortunately, he's in the line of sight of the cult leader, he turns his attention to your partner as he single red eye glows with even more intensity.

>Cross your fingers, Xatu should teleport you out of here on time (DC:???)

Our bullets will pass right through maybe, trying to cause a distraction might be really hard due to the noise in the room, grabbing your partner and attempting to run out of the line of sight, might be too hard for Xatu to teleport, but jumping out of the window, Xatu maaaaybe able to breifly hold you with her Talons, and struggle to bring you down to safety. You race to your partner and shout him about the window, he is way faster than you flying, but being incapable of doing so it would be faster if you lift him and take him with you.

You rush to the nearest window, you're going to jump out of the 8th floor, maybe there's a way to break down the fall, you risk a possible death to avoid the certain death that is staying in this room full of murderous insane cultist.

The giant creature roars as you run, his eye fixed on you and Xatu, it glows intensely.

Time to roll the dice.
Best of three.

You rush to your partner as fast you can, carrying the surprisingly light flying type you avoid the perilous gaze of the giant, thank god these legs of yours still hold up since your days at the track team.
you smash through a window as the cloaked figure roars to his servants to chase after you, some of the Smeargles and Kecleons do, throwing themselves trough the window in a similar manner. But they don’t get a chance to catch you missing you by mere inches.

As you fall the only think you can do is hope that your partner reacts in time, as his body and yours glow he tries to concentrate during the short moments before you hit the ground.

Every day you wake up ready to put your life on the line to do what is right, it may sound a bit egocentric but that’s the truth.
And you’ve lost quite a lot, just to keep doing. countless hours of sleep, friends and acquaintances , your marriage, being around your kids.

It’s a shit job, with a shit pay. But someone has to do it.

If this is the end, then so be it.
You’ve done your job at least.

You sent the witness to the station, if he was being cooperative, and goddamn you hope he was reinforcements should arrive soon.

You close your eyes and brace yourself for impact.

You aren’t falling anymore. You find yourself back at the station, as you hoped, they send some agents to apprehend the suspect at the old building.

You corroborate the words of your suspect, and thanks to that’s more agents are mobilized, even the Capture and Defense forces are participating in this raid. They should arrive soon.

Dodged death once again. You smirk to yourself.

“Good job out there, partner”
Xatu’s aren’t naturally expressive, but even he can’t hide his relief over the situation.

[Epilogue]

[Newcaster]: Yesterday, at 11:00 pm, Silverpoint police department and the capture and defense forces conducted a raid in a joint effort. The location of such event was an old housing building located in Old Stone Avenue #271

[Newcaster]: A group of 12 men and various wild Pokémon involved in the series of murders that had been terrorizing the city, as well as drug trafficking. The police and the C&D forces are still patrolling the area in search for any missing Pokémon or person involved.

[Newcaster]: It seems that the members of this group were in a cult and the reasons of the murders was as human sacrifices. Many of the people involved claim to have no recollection of participating in such things and are currently being questioned.

[Newcaster]: thanks to the efforts of the city police department, one can feel safe again as we walk trough the streets.
………………………….

Everything turned alright in the end, at least mostly. The Rookie was rescued in time during the raid, he’s taking some days off before reintegrating to the force. Xatu’s been healing alright, he should be able to fly again in a week.

Most of the cultists didn’t even remember being in a cult, or at least that’s their alibi. It checks out as an Hypno was captured alongside all of the other murderous Pokémon. But is hard to tell who’s lying and who’s telling the truth. Apparently, some experts in Psychic types are arriving soon to see who was actually under the influence of Hypno’s mind control. Some White Veil scientists you were told.

The ones that do remember being in the cult are either drug addicts who the cultist were feeding their habits, and straight up nut jobs who believe that the ritual was necessary for the greater good, going off about pleasing the “The Entombed One” to delay his arrival.

But this is still not over yet, Alexis and the other guy who were hanging with Johnny the night of his death are missing, as well as the Hobo that used Kecleon as camouflage. Even that gigantic Pokémon hasn’t shown up.

You went to professor Cornelius house after the raid, to confront him about the missing person on his notes.

You found him with an escape rope tied around his neck, hung himself in his bedroom.

After a long day interrogating suspects, and searching Cornelius house for any clues that could lead to the location of the missing suspects and the Giant Dusknoir you go out with Xatu for some dinner.

The two of you sit on the bar, you order a beer and a burger, Xatu wants some onion rings. Some people may think that eating alongside your mon is weird, but fuck em. Xatu is the closest friend you got. Been together since you started your journey as a runt, and the only one that stayed after you released everyone to the wild again. You’ve been trough thick and thin, and you wouldn’t trust your live to anybody else but him.

Xatu can’t say it with words, but he feels the same way.

As you both pass the time eating and drinking, reminiscing of the past, the bad days, the good days. You ask him if he’s fine continuing like this, the two of you aren’t getting any younger, and honestly right now being a detective is all you got going on. He reassures that no matter what, he’ll stick around as a partner. And you are thankful for that, without him around you would probably be dead already, he nods in agreement.

The flying type mon grabs your cellphone, he tells you that you’ve been putting something off for some time now. And after that close experience with death, you might as well do it now.

You tell him that there’s no point in it, the kid is practically a man now, he doesn’t need you around. He’s got his step father anyways.

But he tells you that it may be time to mend bridges.

Sableye, your team, Dick, the Gym Leader and you find yourselves in an ample old room, surrounded by walls of iron. The Golurks and Gollets barely acknowledge your presence, they just asked for confirmation about Dr Henry as the man that will help them.

The rugged archeologist looks at the place dumbfounded.

[Dr. Henry Ford]: Two years working as a gym leader, battling teens all day.

[Dr. Henry Ford]: Taking every free moment to explore this place

[Dr. Henry Ford]: And some kid just finds this in a couple days after arriving

He seems pissed at himself, covering is face in shame before asking you

[Dr. Henry Ford]: How did you get here?

After explaining him how Sableye guided you here, and your talk with the leader of the Golurks he seems even more confused.

[Dr. Henry Ford]: You talk to Pokémon….

Percy: It’s not talking! It’s more like a form of communication based on different visual and sound cues depending on the species! It’s not that weird if you take in account how almost every species of Pokémon can seemingly communicate with one another, of course it took me years of practice and observation, for example, did you know a lot of Pokémon have their own sign language? Not only differentiated by species but by regions! I noticed that the Golurks here ….

Dick: Yes, he can talk to Pokémon, now Percival, care to explain the Dr and I what is this place?

You tell them what the leader of the Golurks told you, how this is a bunker for an undescriptive threat and all that jazz. He seems pleasantly surprised, apparently, he wasn’t so off the mark, if you are telling the truth.

Since the “Ancient One” is currently occupied, they sent a Golett to assist Dr. Ford, he wasted no time and asked you to ask the Golett if he could read some ancient documents he’s carrying. The answer is yes, apparently, they can read the language their creators, this means Dr. Henry could translate most of it!

Dr. Henry starts to laugh, pretty loudly.

[Dr. Henry Ford]: I knew this gig would pay up! Hahaha dammit boy, your putting me to shame here

[Dr. Henry Ford]: If this Pokétalking of yours is the real deal, how about working as my assistant? C’mon boy!

You’ll have to decline his offer, you got only two months to get as far on this journey as you can, besides you kind of made your companions wait long enough for you, but you could help him translate during your off-time.

>You and Dr.Henry Ford exchanged contact info!

[Dr. Henry Ford]: Well, I guess I’ll have to explore these antique cemeteries and uncover the secrets of the region by myself. Good luck on your journey kid, don’t go dying on me, I need those translations.

Dick stays for a bit to talk to the Gym leader, something about making a museum to help preserve the findings, sadly the funding Dr Henry Ford gets It’s no nearly enough for such project. He returns a bit disappointed and starts mumbling to himself.

Dick: If I would become the next head of Blackstone I could easily help the men, as a long term investment.

Dick:But that would mean competing against that asshole, and facing her and her sister

Dick:And Father won’t want to hear about this, at least until I get those badges…

Dick:Damn my impotence!

You make way to were Eli is, aparrently she’s hanging out with Gareth, you find the pair coaching Bug-man and Sand-Rider, the two frail mons are giving their best as they try to push around a wooden crate Eli filled with rocks.

Tremor and Jaws are not impressed.

Eli:C’MON YOU WIMPS! GIVE IT YOUR ALL! STRENGHTEN THOSE MUSCLES!

[Gareth]: I know you two can do it! But don’t overdo it!

Trubbish is drawing them while Honedge looks over his shoulder

[Honedge]: How are you naming this piece?
[Trubbish]: I was thinking “Undying will”
[Honedge]: May I suggest “An exercise on futility”

Sand-Rider weak body is giving up, he can’t push anymore, but Bug-man cheers him on, he leaves his box to push alongside Sand-Rider making a marginally better work.

Eli: Hey! No helping each other! We are building strength not trust!

[Gareth]: No, no, no, this is good! TEAM WORK!

The girl notices you walking alongside of Dick and goes to you, apparently she’s been spending the day helping out Gareth and sparring against trainers to give the college dropout and his team and example of a real battle, even Kali joined in for a while, mostly to snap pictures of Eli’s team and herself. But she left as soon as she heard you and Dick were coming.

Eli:About damn time! Alright, let’s hit the road!

Your little group goes back to the Hotel where Dick has left his ride, the trip won’t be too long, you should arrive to Madeleine town before nightfall, if everything goes alright.

Eli:Yo, you think your arm can handle camping?
>>
>>3018518
You arm is still pretty hurt, resting in an actual bed could speed the process but you could camp away, it won't kill you.

Also, regarding your lodging, your maternal grandparents live in Madeleine town....

Honestly Gramps probably didn't know that we had made friends with it. Maybe let them know about it but mention we're also not super jazzed about it and decide as a group from there.

>>
>>3018573
Yeah, dickgramps is Percy's paternal grandfather he lives in north pass

Percy's maternal Grandfather shoot a Rattata Percy befriended during his early childhood, the shock made him a social recluse unwilling to talk with other humans.

Percy was selectively mute until he was 10, only communicating in Pokémon noises which lead to a fair share of bullying during his elementary school years.

Percy: I think I can camp, but actually, I got some relatives at Madeleien, maybe we could stray with them.

Eli: Sweet! Free lodging! You the best weirdo. Well, 2nd best.

You make the phone call….

[Grandma]: Little Percy? Oh my, how are you?

After a rather awkward call (from your side) you tell your friends they will set up some rooms for you and your companions, you invite Dick but he declines since he rather not intrude too much.

………..

After a while all of you are riding on Dick’s pick-up truck, Alexandro rides shotgun while Eli, Gareth and you fill up the backseat. To save space most of your team are back in their balls, Houndour and Tremor are in the back of the truck.

You got some free time before you arrive at Madeleine town, and Dick even got wi-fi on his truck. It looks like Kali just uploaded Eli’s photos. According to her she really captures her teams “Badassnes”

Seems like Dr. Ford didn’t waste any time, he sent you a 40 minutes video, while you watch it he explains to you that the Golurks gave him a map of the ruins so his exploration will sped up, the place is much bigger than he initially thought, the ruins run deep and the Golurks have asked something from him.

It seems that they want help to clear out the lower part of the ruins, mostly to reclaim the “Mauseoleum” where the last remains of this civilization stays. Not only that, the mons actually answered Henry’s question about what happened to the last living members of the Northern tribes and how this place got abandoned.

The explanation is actually quite logical.

Ages ago, strange men wearing iron plates, riding beast unknown came to the bunker, they proclaimed to be saviors that would show the light and the truth of this world to the men living here. They brought Fruits and Pokémon that were never seen before. They had knowledge that even the “Arcane Sage” was ignorant of.

They offered a deal, they wanted our people to join their cause, help them suppress the tribes of the south and claim these lands for their “Legitimate King”, the leaders, the sages, the men who’d been here the longest refused, as this Bunker was their protection to prepare for “The Liberation”, the day where the world would come to an end.

But the men in metal garments objected, theirs was a Holy Mission, if that day came to be, their Lord would surely protect those who serve them., he would send his Holy Servant to aid them, its power said to be unmatched, it’s thousand arms will always aid those who needs it, no matter the threat.

The young people living here, sick of being enclosed decided to part with the strangers. After hundreds of years waiting for the final day, their faith on the words of the “Arcane Sage” had dwindled greatly.

The only ones who remained where the old sages and the leader at the time. Who one by one perished alone, without no one to lead except for the Golurks and Goletts.
……….
Sounds like the beginnings of the spread of Arceusism in the region, during the conquest of Aztlan. He also sends you a message, he wants some input about what you would like to translate next.

As you type the translation to the archeologist you can see Eli looking at you.

Eli: Pfft, no, but I was wondering about this!

>The next video will be about the notes of the "Arcane Sage"

Percy: Oh, this thing? Eh yeah. It’s just something Dick gave me to… commemorate our newfound brotherhood!

Dick looks at you rather confused , you try to get him to play along.

Dick: That’s right, Brotherhood forged by the fierce fires of battle, our bond is as strong as steel.

Percy: Poké-Bros!

Dick: Did you really have to add the “Poké”?

Eli: Then why does Blondie have one?

Percy: I have no idea.

Eli: Alright… So you pair of boyfriends got matching bracelets? That’s pretty lame

[Alexandro]: It is lame, completely unmanly, 2/10 would not wear in public.

[Gareth]: I think it’s cool, I used to have something like that with… Nevermind.

The four of you keep moving trough the route, the desert ends and small pastures start to be seen, as you move farther away from Ibarra Village more vegetation comes forth.

Seems like there are various men in military uniform on the middle of the road, a spot check from the C&D forces? But they don’t tend to that kind of stuff, at least not in the middle of nowhere. It’s give you a strange vibe.

>You are just being paranoid, you got nothing illegal on your hands, just continue

You voice your concerns to your companions, it is quite strange for the C&D forces to put up a checkpoint in the middle of the road, they are almost always busy trying to maintain the ample population of Pokémon in check, and if they would set a checkpoint it would be nearer a settlement.

Besides, the Mega Stone and Abomasite you have with you, even if they are unusable, could still get you in trouble.

Dick: It is quite strange, alright, I saw an alternate road a while back, we could go for that.

Eli: Yeah, screw authorities!

[Gareth]: They are just doing their job, and didn’t you kept visiting the C&D outpost for bounties?

Eli:Because cash. Alright let’s take this baby off road!

Dick makes a U-turn and starts driving back, Eli starts citing examples of how “Authorities suck ass”, like she being unjustly arrested for her little battle back at Ibarra Village, and being arrested causing a little ruckus in front of convenience stores, or that time she got detained for vandalizing the bikes of some douches who had it coming.

Seems like Eli has a bit of trouble with the law. This fact doesn’t surprise anyone.

You start to suddenly hear other vehicles, a pair of motorcycles are getting near at full speed, they are being driven by the C&D members from the checkpoint.

>Take the most stable route and outspeed them! Pedal to the metal! (Requires roll)

We're in a pickup truck. These are made for off-road terrain and robustness, right? I say we go for this one, the stable route gives the bikes an advantage. Or maybe their bikes are for off-road too, who knows?

Percy: Go that way! QUICK!

Dick: Don't tell me what to do! (Dick says as he follows your advice.)

Dick accelerates, heading off to a road filled all tons of hindrances, a definite problem for the soldiers on bikes, but maybe not for the pick-up truck. Still, he better be careful while driving through the place.

Dick: Hold on to your seats!

The road is a bumpy one, you and Eli return Houndour and Tremor to their balls to avoid sending them flying, the truck goes through the mud without much problem but Dick struggles to avoid crashing on tree stumps, narrowly avoiding them. One of the chasers stops while the other continues recklessly losing control of his bike and crashing into the ground.

Seems like that is resolved, Gareth is afraid this will cause more trouble with the law, but Eli reassures him, “They didn’t see our faces, so they can’t prove shit!” this doesn’t calm Gareth that much.

As Dick keeps driving trough the bumpy road you find yourself near a small riverbank, your pursuers have been long. Night is starting to fall, and your group can take it a little easier. Currently, it’s Avenger and Loudred’s turn to ride at the back of the truck, the small poison type stares longingly at the body of water Eli tells him they can go fishing once they arrive at Madeleine.

Getting back on the road, it’s a matter of time before you start to see all the crop fields that surround the rural town. This place is pretty famous for it’s homegrown berries, the small town has grown exponentially since Blackstone Co opened one of it’s training centers here and started to export berries outside of the city, at least that what Dick’s tell you somewhat proudly.

Even with the economic growth, Madeleine town remains a small simple town with not much going on. There’s Bluk-berry pond, the Serene woods east of here, and one of the many entrances to Silver passage, a system of caves that lead to Silverpoint.

[Gareth]: Anyone else feels hungry?

Eli:Dude, I’m starving

May as well get this over with.

Dick drops your group in the considerably large house located in the outskirts. You can see your Mother’s mons hanging around in the premises, her Torterra growls on a friendly manner while you growl back.

Dick:I’ll see you around Percival and, ehm, your companions.

Eli: Name’s Eli lil’ dickie!

As he drives off you knock on the door and brace for it, maybe this won’t be so bad? The door creaks open and you

[Grandma]: Little Percy! Look at you! You’ve grown so much! Oh my Gosh look at you! Such a dashing young man! And are those your little friends?

Percy: Hey grandma, how are you…

[Grandma]:DEAR! PERCY IS HERE!

[Grandpa]: I’M COMING WOMAN!
The old man makes his way downstairs

[Grandpa]:Heya boy! You finally started acting like a gosh darn human being?

[Grandpa]: Just kidding boy, but really, do you keep eating Poké-kibble? Cause I got a tons of that thing!

[Grandma]: Please Harold, don’t embarrass the boy in front of his friends, you know he has trouble with people! Oh, don’t mind my husband, come on in! I started cooking the moment you called!

You are sitting in the ample dining table. Your little cousin Adam is also staying here for summer vacation, he gulps down his food without saying a word and runs back to his room. Your grandma says he’s just a bit shy. You are pretty sure he flipped you off on his way.

The whole thing is a bit awkward. Grandpa lectures you on how to make proper berry patches “not that industrialized drivel they got going on nowadays”, while your grandma tries to convince you to stay for a few days so all of you can go to church this Sunday, specially Eli. They also seem to disapprove of Gareth as a 20 something in a journey.

[Grandpa]: Hey boy, did that Psychological thingie worked out for you? I don’t trust that mumbo jumbo, but you don’t seem as weird as usual.

Dammit, we are heading into full awkwardness territory.

He went there

[Grandpa]: We had a funeral and everything! And every time he came here he could barely look at me. He’d spend all day with the other Pokémon outside.

He was a living being. He had a soul! He had aspirations! He was going to evolve and show everybody just how strong he really was, start his own colony even. But you TOOK that from him without a second thought. You didn't think for a second that that Rattata might have a life. That your actions might have consequences.

Maybe I'm not okay in the head, Grampa. Okay? I'm weird! I know! Everyone knows. It's not a big secret or anything. I don't "get" humans still. Because I don't "get" how anybody could be so, so blackhearted. You know I loved that rat, all scrawny and mangy as it was, and now you're, what, you're trying to joke it off? Pretend it didn't mean anything to me? Pretend like my feelings didn't happen? Maybe I prefer hanging out with Pokemon because they have something you'll never have: empathy. And you slam the door again, before storming off.

You are still fuming. But at least, you finally got that out of your system.
And your Grandma’s cooking is always delicious.

It’s around 8 pm on a Thursday night. Where should you go?

Grandma's alright. We should go apologize for that, probably not the first time - unless Percy has been a complete autist until literally the start of the quest and this really IS the first time he's blown up like this in front of them, in which case we REALLY have to go apologize after calming down.

You go before your team notices, directing yourself to the edge of town, near the woods. The simple wooden cross still stands there. You remember your grandma helping you make it, she was the most understanding when that happened.

She must have put two and two together, after all, she was the one that took notice of your growing interest in Pokémon and Rattatas.

You reminisce about the days you’ve spend together, slowly gaining his trust, walking trough the woods, sneaking him into your room.

It brings a tear to your eyes, but you don’t cry easily. You’ve learned to hold that back.

I never liked Arceusism in fanfics, just adapt Catholicism. Arceus being god is supposed to be a myth, revering him is like revering greek gods on modern day. But here I'll give it a pass since its an original region.

He mostly just follows the dogma with his family, he doesn't know what to think.

Probably some embarrassment as well - I think Percy would hate to get that upset unless it's really necessary (See: Kali training Growlithe), and he went and did it in front of his grandparents, Eli, and Gareth.

You sit on the floor thinking about all those days you’ve spent with him. Those are memories you don’t revisit often, but when you do, they get to you. The two of you playing near the pond, looing for berries on the trees of the woods. Playing pretend as Pokémon and trainer (he was the trainer most of the time).
The bond you made, when it was severed, you felt strangely empty.
That’s why you tried to make another one, and why you kept learning about Pokémon, hoping that someday, you felt it again.
You can feel your eyes swell up with tears and that oppressive sensation on your throat.

Well, you already went and let your emotions run wild at the dinner table. You guess doing it alone wouldn’t hurt.

You cry, you cry like you haven’t done in a long time. You can’t quite remember the last time you did. It’s unsightly, it’s pathetic. And you are grateful nobody can see it.

[Gareth]: Heeeeeey.
The young man and Kadabra are standing near you, you have no idea how much time have they been standing there.

[Kadabra]: About 12 minutes.

Right, mind reading.

After you left your grandparent’s house, Gareth and Eli went to search for you on your Grandma’s request, Kadabra knew everything since, mind reading. And decided to help Gareth locate you. Partly because he wanted to see how a subject like Gareth would deal with the task of consolation, and mostly because he wanted to see if you were alright and he isn’t the best with words.

[Gareth]: Well, you know, sometimes ehm,

[Gareth]: Sorry man, I’m not good at this, but you know, family can suck.

Percy: I’m well aware of that.

Percy: I just, wanted to resolve things, get better at this “people thing”, but it was just a waste of time, I just embarrassed myself in front of the few humans I can talk to.

[Gareth]: I don’t really know what you are going through. But at the very least I can say you aren’t as strange everyone says, if something happened to Bug-man or Sand-Rider, and I knew it was someone’s fault I would be fucking irate.

[Gareth]: What’s so weird about having friends? Pokémon, human, whatever, and what if you have a little trouble talking to people? Tons of people can’t handle bug mons can you believe that? They are so cool!

Percy: Yes, I fail to see how there could be so many detractors of bug-types, their physiology is astounding!
>>
>>3020938
[Gareth]: I’m sorry for your pal, I’m sure he’s in a better place now…..Right? All Pokémons go to heaven, right? I know it’s the worst possible time to ask, but that’s how it works?

Percy:I’m not sure, I’ve never been too involved with Arceusism, we celebrate Christmas and everything , but I prefer to believe in things that can be proven. I’m a man of science after all.

[Gareth]: Yeah, never been the religious type either. Sending your son to die always felt kinda weird to me. At least he gave him a kickass starter Pokémon.

Percy: Starting your Journey with a legendary should be considered cheating. And healing your mons in the middle of battle whenever you like without using items sounds kind of cheap as well.

Gareth and you had a rather blasphemous discussion about Jesus Christ exploits as a Trainer, using your rather poor religious knowledge the two of you questioned if the son of God really deserved the title of “Pokémon Master” At least that took your mind out of things.

After you were found, Gareth contacted Eli and your grandma, just to let them know you were alright.

Your team, Kadabra, Eli and Gareth, all of them were looking for you.

It feels kind of nice, knowing that someone is worried about you. Everyone decided to just stay at the Pokémon center for the night, since the situation in your old folks home is kinda, awkward at the moment.

Your grandma sent you some of your favorite berry pie with Eli, unfortunately, Jaws took a bite from it so there's only half left.

Tomorrow Eli will go fishing/ training and Gareth is going to try and get some cash at the Berry farms.

You, will spend the morning...

Friday morning, 5th day of your Journey.

After yesterday events, you’d prefer to take your mind of things for a bit. You decided to check out the independent Pokémon lab situated here, maybe you could finally get your Pokedex fixed!

As you walk trough the town Loudred and Mimikyu ask you about yesterday since you went missing, they want to make sure you are alright. You and Kadabra reassure them that there’s nothing to worry about.

As you enter the place you notice a poster that reads “Help Wanted” in the front door.
The lab is relatively small, but the installations are tidy and in good state, there’s various computers to interpret data as well as shelfs full of Pokémon related books, their demographic distribution, anatomy and physiology.

You are welcomed by a woman in a lab coat, it takes her a moment to notice you entering since she was fully engrossed on her reading.

[Proffesor]: Oh, welcome! I didn’t expect anyone here so early in the morning! I’m professor Maple! And this is our humble abode!

[Proffesor Maple ]:I’m terribly sorry, you see, we are currently low on starters, how low you ask? Well, I just gave the last ones away… But, you seem to be have enough Pokémon with you already…

[Proffesor Maple]: Oh! you must be here to join the team! I knew posting those help wanted signs around town would do the trick! Welcome aboard! Wait, aren’t you a little too young to work on a lab?

Percy: Actually, I just want to get this Pokédex fixed.

[Proffesor Clove]: Oh… You have a Pokédex?! (She practically snatches it from your hands) And one of those White Veil models no less!

She asks you if you have any relation to White Veil labs, so you explain the Proffesor how you found it after your encounter with a man eating Hippowdon, she says she could repair it, it shouldn’t take too long.

[Proffesor]: The thing is, we are a bit low on manpower, and funds. Ever since our last field agent completed his research and Professor Aspen retired, things haven’t looked good for our little lab. I could repair your Pokédex, for a fee, or a little help.

[Proffesor]:…And maybe, I can interest you on doing some field work for us?

Percy: FIELD WORK? LIKE, ACTUAL POKÉMON RESEARCH?

[Proffesor Maple]: Yes, I can give you a quick run down after I finish with your dex

Percy: I’m absolutely down for it!

The women in a lab coat smiles excitedly at your enthusiasm. You are pretty tried to contain a squee, but ended up letting it out.

[Proffesor Maple]: Alright! That’s the spirit! Finally, I can make the Proffesor Aspen proud!

[Houndour]: Don’t you have a bit too much on your plate partner?

Percy: (Barking) Nonsense! I can handle it, besides I can’t let this opportunity pass!

She seems a little confused by your sudden barks.

Percy: You mentioned that you needed some help right? What is it? I’m good at things! You can count on me to do any kind of Pokémon related activities! Even not-Pokémon related activities with varying degrees of success!

[Proffesor Maple]: Oh, It’s just a little favor for me, nothing too difficult for a trainer

Percy:You want a backrub?

[Proffesor Maple]:What?

Percy:[/b Well, you are the only person in charge of this lab and you seemed a bit stressed and tired, for most Pokémon, and humans I believe, it’s important to release the tension from the muscles, that’s why I always massage Loudred after a tough fight. I would do the same with Houndour but he doesn’t like it.

[Loudred]: He’s pretty good at it! You all should try it.

[Mimikyu]: I’m not worthy of that kind of praise

[Prince]: That doesn’t sound too bad honestly

[Vulpix]: It’s kinda weird. I would prefer that somebody else would do it for me (Looking at Houndour not so discreetly)

[Houndour]:…

The professor quickly shuts down that idea, she just needs you to catch a trio of starters for some rookie trainers. She gave you a list with good species to consider, going for the classic fire-water-grass could work. There’s an abundance of grass types around as well as various water types in the pond. Getting a fire type is trickier, there’s rare sightings of them in the caves that lead to silverpoint as well as in the woods. Sometimes Fletchings approach the town, so that also could be a place to search for mons.

Let's get that Water Type!

To not waste your Great ball in this task you opted to buy 3 Pokéball at the nearest Pokémart, $600 shouldn't hurt your finances.

It's quite big for a pond, covering thousands of meters and you've hear that it's quite deep as you get near the center.

You can spot Eli and her team nerby, Avenger is reeling in his latest catch, a Basculin, he asks her if she would like to spar with one of his teammates. She seems down for it.

Honedge, Jaws and Tremor discuss who gets to fight this time.

Besides that, it seems like Avenger has caught a lot of stuff, he has a bucket brimming with fish, he returns the smaller ones to the pond and gives the bigger ones to Tremor and Jaws so they can cook them in a fireplace. Mimikyu asks you if he could help them out, you let the little guy go do some cooking.

Eli on the other hand.

Eli:Stupid fucking fishes! Just take a bite already! I’m tired of waiting here!

Seems to have trouble with this, Avenger tries to tell her that she could go with the rest of the team and keep training, but she's decided to at least catch one fish/mon.

Eli:That's it! I'm going to you one way or another, even if I have to catch you with my bare fucking hands!

The girl throws her fishing rod to the ground and prepares to jump into the pond.

You should....

>Go with Avenger the Trubbish, fish with him using Eli's rod and wait for a mon to bite.

>Let's walk around the edge of the pond, there's various mons like Lotad, Poliwags and Woopers nearby.

Hey anons, taking a break to eat dinner. Get ready for a battle.

In the meantime, question time.

>Do you thin Percy could handle the loss of one of his teammates? What about his human friends?

>Personal favorite mon of the franchise?
>>
>>3023158
He could handle it. It'd be devastating, and take time, but he could recover.

Loudred is my favorite, for sure.

Hey by the by, maybe tone down Vulpix lusting for that Houndour dick. It's established and all, cramming it into every other line of dialogue or interaction makes it one-note.
>>
>>3023158
Well, I'd say it would be even worse than when Rattata died, but I'm sure Percy would be able to process and overcome it eventually. Don't think it would matter if it was a member of our team or one of our friends, it'd be about as devastating.

I'm a sucker for the Porygon line, namely Porygon-Z.
>>
>>3023158
He'd be pretty devasted. It would be awhile before he got over it.

Love the larvitar line.

Death isn't a stranger in this bussiness, it would hurt but he would keep going anyways.

Ooof, hard one. Gallade is my main one, but there's a lot of mons I like. Scizor is a classic, Talonflame and Greninja grew on me recently, then there's Venusaur, Raichu, Charizard on gen 1, Breloom, Marshstomp, Gardevoir, Metagross on gen 3, Rotom, Drifloon, Mantyke, Garchomp on gen 4, Excadrill, Reuniclus... OK there's a lot. It would be easier to say which I don't like.

Same deal with both. Either he gets over it eventually and learns to accept it - or he becomes Punished Percy and assumes some mannerisms of his asshole grandfather.

You decide to stop Eli before she gets wet, a part of you regrets it for some reason. She was about to remove her hat and bandana before your voice caught her attention

Percy: Wait! Maybe I can help you with this.

Eli: Can it weirdo, this is between me and them, I don’t need your help

Percy:How about some advice?

Eli: Hmm…I’m open to that.

Thanks to Avenger’s input and apparently natural fishing ability you can apply your knowledge about Water Type Pokémon in the most effective manner! Going about the basics, from how to cast a line, to how to entice different water types by moving the bait in specific patterns, what parts of the lake have the most chance to hold mons, the movements in the water. You are sure to get a catch.

The only thing left is to see if Eli has enough patience to hold still and wait for something to bite.

.
..

Eli: SOMETHING BIT!

The girl starts reeling it back as fast as possible, she doesn’t seem to have much trouble after yours and Trubbish advice.

Eli:Alright, come to mama!... Hurgh

Percy: What’s the matter?

Eli:This thing fighting back, and oof, it suddenly started to feel, like a fat son of a bitch.

You aren’t completely sure of what got in her fish hook, but it should be pretty big. It’s even pulling Eli towards the lake. Despite her protest, you try to help her reel it in using your, and damn it’s actually pushing you towards the lake with Eli! Noticing this, Loudred, Jaws, Mimikyu and Avenger all join in to try and pull the catch.

It’s a struggle but finally thanks to the Pokémon you manage to get that catch out! Everyone pulls with all their strength and the thing in the water comes technically flying towards you. It’s a Wooper and an Azurril! Wooper was the one that bit the bait and the Azurril bit on Wooper to make her drop it. The pair is pretty cute, maybe you could bring one back to the lab.

Still it makes no sense how two small Pokémon could give you so much trouble.

Before you get a chance to help Wooper out of the hook something rises from the pond, a large Pokémon raises his head out of the water, his sudden movements splashes everyone near it. Before you can act he takes a big chomp at the place where Wooper and Azurril where.

The Gyarados swallows and let’s out a deafening roar. He’s pissed beyond measure that you two tried to take away his meal. Before you can reason with him he opens with an attack.

Eli:You up for a team battle?

>BATTLE START

>CRIT, FULL OFFENSIVE

>Avenger: CRIT

Gyarados is about to use “Hurricane” on your mons. He starts to gather wind currents

As the wind starts to move more and more violently, Eli takes a moment to see the direction on which the wind is blowing.

Eli:Hey weirdo, go for the head!

Eli:Avenger “Acid Spray” and make some distance, on cue!

Gyarados let’s out his attack a moment faster than your mon can act.

The trainer takes her bandana of her face and starts to let out short loud whistles, with each sound Avenger acts, first by letting out as many green liquid projectiles he cans, seemingly missing Gyarados at first but coming back to hit him right on the back of his head thanks to the wind currents flowing towards the aquatic beasts. The opposing mon roars in pain as his defenses are melted away by the boiling acid!

Vulpix is completely focused on causing as much damage as she cans in her next attack, taking the hit without losing his sight of where to strike and how to do it! The damage is considerable, but she manages to endure it. Meanwhile Eli keeps whistling to alert Avenger of when and where to move to avoid any damage.

>Gyarados Sp. Defense went way down!

You don’t let this opportunity pass and command Vulpix to use Extrasensory, solely focused on causing damage the little mon eyes glows intensely, the space where Gyarados head is seems to contort strangely before a bright volley of energy explodes behind his neck sending him down! His head crashes on the land, he’s not knocked out, but he isn’t looking too hot.

>Gyarados is further damaged from the Toxic, he looks in a critical condition but refuses to back down. He is lifting his head from the ground and goes directly to attack again.

>Vulpix received some serious damage from the Hurricane, she can still fight, but that attack was pretty bad. She has around a little more than a third of her health left.

Once she’s close enough she let’s out the freezing breeze, covering the Water type with frost, slowing his movements with every missed hit from his part.

He’s done for! The toxic keeps doing damage to him, his sickly state led him to start hurling, he ejects something out of his mouth before falling unconscious to the floor.

You move your arm backwards to gain enough momentum with your throw, just as you about to let it go you hear the sound of something flying at a ludicrous high speed near you. Lifting one of her legs on the air before planting herself on the ground once more, Eli’s arm moves like a whip.

The trainer moves by instinct, almost as if something took over her for a moment. Her movements are precise, fast and somehow, they seem natural. The look on her face is one of pure concentration, akin to how she gets when she’s battling.

Your Ultraball flies through the air at a Slowpoke pace compared to hers, you can barely see it before it instantly and rather painfully hits Gyarados face capturing it.

[Jaws]: FUCKING SICK THROW
[Avenger]: You’ve been improving!
[Tremor]: 7/10, she could do better than that
[Honedge]: That seemed rather, vicious

Eli: YEAH! You suck weirdo! Gotta improve your throwing arm!

Percy: What the…?

Eli: Don’t cry big boy, I’ll treat you something nice with all the SICK DOSH I’m getting for this fish!

Eli: Wait, do they have a bounty on him? Shit, I hope they do. I just guessed they did.

Percy: What was that?

Eli: Huh? My dad taught me how to pitch when I was young, I like to practice sometimes.

That was no high-schooler level pitch.

>Eli has sick Pokéball throwing skills when she gets competitive.

You feel a bit bad for the two, being almost eaten alive by a Gyarados, hopefully Proffesor Maple can find a trainer for both of the little guys. Azurill tried to keep Wooper from being caught in the bait so they are probably friend, if they are lucky maybe the trainers they will be given to will also be friends.

Also, your Ultra Ball is still usable so that's pretty good.

Eli is going to keep training for a bit and then she'll go to check the bounties in town. Seems like she's pretty serious about her Pokémon's regimen, trying to train regularly.

Percy: Hey Prince, what did you learn from watching that fight?

[Prince]: That giant sea-serpents are very scary and could devour me whole.

Percy: And….?

[Prince]: That… they can be defeated?

Percy: That’s right Prince! That’s why we need to start getting some battling experience!

[Vulpix]: Some of us could use more training, like a certain yellow crybaby.

[Vulpix]: Most of us can actually pull our weight in a fight.

[Prince]: I- I’m not… a crybaby

[Kadabra]: You are by definition, still an infant.

[Loudred]: Not helping Kadabra.

[Mimikyu]: Vulpix has a point. We do need to improve our fighting capabilities, if we wish to remain being useful.

You tell them to cut Prince some slack, maybe he can get some experience during this little assignment!

After healing the two-unconscious mons and placing them in the temporarily stasis-like state of being in the PC, since you know. Holding more than 6 loaded Pokéballs is highly illegal. You buy 2 more Pokéballs ($400) and venture into Silverpoint passage!

You enter the cave, as you walk deeper into it, the light from the entrance disappears and you are left to rely on your flashlight. It goes deep, if you crossed the entire system of caves you could arrive to Silverpoint city, there's almost no Pokémon around, except for the stray Zubat that hangs on the ceiling, they seem exhausted, after all, they rest during daytime.

Fire type sightings are uncommon but not unheard of.

Unfortunately, near the entrance you can see sudden flashes of light, is somebody using "Flash" repeatedly? Or taking photos? That could explain why there's almost no Pokémon around the mouth of the cave

Also there's sounds of an intense Pokémon battle that can be heard in the cave a little bit deeper, that could be scaring the kind of Pokémon you are looking for.

You could always go in deeper, where there's no flashes of light, nor sounds of battling.

>Stay near the entrance of the cave, see if you can get the person using "Flash" to stop.

>Go to the middle levels of the cave, maybe you can stop whovers fighting, or convince him of going somewhere else, or at the very least wait for him to stop. Actually it sounds like a pretty intense match.

I'm not thinking about weather at all, I just think a Water/Grass combo gives good coverage. Although, ideally, whatever water type we get would be more on the Physical side of things. We've got three special attackers, and two physical, after all.

The water types I'm most interested in, type-wise, are Poliwag, Staryu/Slowpoke, Shellos/Mudkip, Buizel, or Dewpider. Those all circumvent the issue of how fish Pokemon do on land, too.

You decide to Venture deeper into the cave making sure to get your Escape Rope ready in case things go awry. Disregarding what could possibly be other humans you prefer to stick to dealing with Pokémon for the time being.

This cave branches in various paths, you continue on the direction you feel is more likely to find any fire type, opting to go wherever there seems to be traces of Pokémon activity, and the temperature feels a bit higher.

You aren’t sure if you are going in the right direction until you see a set of bipedal footprints and a scorched berry! You could be on the right track here.

Houndour could track the smell of whatever was munching on these, and with some luck you’ll get another starter. Or maybe you could imitate the call of the possible species of the mon, to get him out. Besides of that, a friendly Graveler approached you, he seems to be pointing in a certain direction, even drawing a little crude map on the ground. From what it seems he is directing you to the nearest exit in case you got lost. Maybe he knows where to find Fire types around here?

Houndour doesn’t trust him, a Pokémon so eager to help humans is not normal, Loudred tells his bro that he’s being a bit too paranoid.

Your Poké-communication skills are still top-notch!

You can hear some steps on your direction, by the sound of it, a pair of Magbys! Wait, that other one is definitely not a Magby.

[Magby]: I’m telling you! There’s a Master looking for Fire Pokémon! He's just speaking like one of us!

[Charmander]: That’s impossible! It’s just a Magmar playing tricks on you! No human can speak like that!

[Magby]: Nuh-huh, one of the older Magmars told us a story about human that could do that!

[Charmander]: You better not be wrong this time! We had enough trouble with that human that only wanted to take pictures of us with her, and that other one that was fighting a Golem!

[Magby]: That was crazy! I’ve never seen a human fight against a Pokémon!

[Charmander]: You mean super scary! He looked like a monster! If he was like that, imagine his Pokémon!

Percy: Hello there!

[Charmander]:He’s real!

[Magby]:I told you!

This little pair of mons have decided to search for “Masters” to become stronger at least Magby does, Charmander just wants the lifestyle of a Urban Pokémon. And you are just in luck, they’ve just got out of their nest in search for adventure! Sadly, the humans that they encountered weren’t really interested on catching them. You explain them the whole “starter deal” and they are actually down for it! Starting with a Rookie trainer, being complete Rookies themselves, it sounds pretty good. Not much pressure on having to catch up to the rest of the team.

[Magby]: Wait, don’t you have to fight us first? To see if you are worthy!

[Charmander]: Don’t say nonsense Magby! We are going to be starters of other trainers!

Percy: Well, If you want a little spar, maybe we could work something out!

You look at Prince, to see his reaction.

Prince rushes into Magby, quite nerviously and closing his eyes. Bashing into him at a considerable speed.
[Prince]: AAAH!

He shouts to pump himself up, or to just get rids of his nerves.

Magby has no chance to use Ember, he just goes flying through the cave crashing on one of the walls. It was a pretty heavy attack. A CRIT no less.

Magby falls to the ground, he seems pretty damaged, he’s trying to stand up.

[Prince]: You, you okay there? I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to!

[Magby]: Calm down, this is a fight! I can take a hit!.....Oh wow, my head’s spinning.

The Magby shoots some flames from his mouth, Prince let’s a *yeep* while instinctively covering. He takes some damage.

>Elekid is doing okay, he’s only lost about a fourth of his health

Prince nervousness gives Maby enough time to stand up again, he tries to make some distance and prepares to fire some Smog!

>Successful pass!

Prince starts closing in, his fist igniting into flames, Magby spews toxics gasses at your you’re your Elekid just runs faster trying to get his attack before the fire mon can, but his little legs, as fast that they are, aren’t quick enough, he winces slightly as he goes trough the cloud of poisonous smoke.

Once he’s face to face with Magby he should be an easy target. It’s not very effective in terms of type advantage, but that punch to Magby’s face causes enough damage to send him tumbling backwards.

Loudred continues to cheer him on, Houndour says that he might be worth training rather dryly. Vulpix states that’s just beginners’ luck “He wasn’t even dodging, just striking!”. Kadabra thinks that he needs more mental stimulation to comprehend the nature of battles.

Prince appears to be mostly confused and apologetic.

Percy: Hey, do any of you want to stop? I think we could just call it quits here.

[Prince]: Yes! Let’s stop!

[Magby]: No way, I’m not knocked out yet, c’mon let’s do this! Come at me!
(Says Magby as he tries and fails to stand still, his body wobbling for the head trauma caused by that last punch to his face)

Charmander goes over to his friends.

[Charmander]: Alright man, let’s just calm down for a moment. Just sit down, or lay on the floor for a bit. I’mma get you some berries alright?

Charmander decided to put a stop to the fight!
>Battle End!
>Prince gained experience!

Percy: Ehm you okay there Prince? It wasn’t that bad!

[Prince]: It’s just feels weird, to punch someone who I’ve barely met. What if punch him too strongly and he hates me for that? or thinks I’m a trying too hard on a casual battle? Or if I punch him too lightly and everyone makes fun of me for being so weak. And then nobody is going to want to talk too me. And they’ll just see me and go. “Oh look it’s that Elekid that sucks at fighting” and they laugh at my incompetence?

[Prince]: Oh mon, that’s a first impression I can’t erase.

Percy: Prince calm down, it’s just sparring. You did pretty good!

[Prince]: Thanks pop, I’m just a little nervous....

>Princes gets anxious while interacting with other Pokémon, specially during battles!

I was waiting for the chance to see if we could send Aledia a message or a call, cause she wanted to be a friend back when we meet her in the gym.

Eli's mons are named after movies, right? Maybe we can suggest a cool name for her Honedge

>Honedge
Maybe some Wuxia or any Fantasy one?
Like the Sting (sword from LotR) etv.?
>>

Dude. It's a reference from the toxic avenger. An 80s garbage troma film. It's basically horror. Quite fitting for a trubbish.
>>
>>3028460
Hmm, the obvious option would be naming her after a slasher movie, geddit? But that's out of my field, maybe Friday like Friday the 13th but also like Rebecca Black's awful song?
>>
>>3028498
Friday isn't bad. Jason's machete is pretty iconic and close enough to a sword.
>>

>>
>>3028520
Female, pretty sure. Jason's mother was named Pamela Vorhees, so maybe Pam.
>>
>>3028498
Friday is very good desu
>>
>>3028498
Friday’s pretty good. Could maybe do Halloween as well, though Myer’s knife is probably less iconic then Jason’s machete.
>>
>>3028843
They're all named after the movies titlesthough, not really the creatures/characters in them.
>>
>>3028888
i think he just meant the name halloween would be in reference to the movie where myers uses a knife like how Friday is in reference to how Jason had a machete
>>
>>3028947
Hmm. Could work. Call her Hailey for short or something. I'd argue the Myers kitchen knife is just as iconic.
>>

With that last catch you decide to go out of Silver passage, as you made your way a couple out a couple of things happened. A girl wearing the symbol of the “Holy Mon” mistook you for a Pokémon because of your calls and threw a Pokéball at you, she apologized quickly before running off.

Kadabra seems curious about the prominent religious nature of the town and is curious about how the beliefs of humans changed so drastically from what he saw back at the ruins, he asks permission to use your cellphone later for more research, and if it’s possible, go into to town to contemplate these habits.

>Let Kadabra go into town now
>You’ll let him use your phone later.
>Other/ write-in

Regarding the messages you received.

Eli: Hey dude, can we meet somewhere later to discuss where are we going next?

[Gareth]: Hey Percy, my man, throwing a purely hypothetical question out there. If I were to found around a dozen of bug types without a place to stay, is there somewhere around where they could live?

Aleida sent to you a sound clip.
“Haxorus noises” ( Hey! Are you free later? I got some free time! )

Trying to not waste more time you direct yourself towards Serene Woods, you used to play there with Rattata when you were younger so you are bit more familiar with the place. Flying, Normal and to a lesser extent grass types are common around the forest. Standing at the edge of town, the homely and usually tranquil sounds of the people living in Madeleine town turn to silence, now replaced with the casual chirping from mons and rustling in the grass.

Houndour seems a bit more interested in Prince after his fight, you explain to him that you wanted Houndour to coach him a little, since the two mons are on this journey with a similar objective, becoming Pokémon worthy of being leaders. He doesn’t seem particularly thrilled about the idea, but he wants to try out, after all, looking after the younger members of a pack is part of a leader’s responsibility.

Welp, time to find some mons!

>Houndour suggest that is time for Prince to learn how to hunt to “build some character”, he’ll use his tracking senses, and try to teach Prince a thing or to.

You let Kadabra return to town so he can experience human behaviour first-hand. He'll return to the entrance of the woods later.

>Kadabra left the group

You respond to your texts, telling Eli you'll met her after catching some Pokémon for the local professor, you could met her at the lab after everything is done.

Regarding Gareth, maybe the lab could take them in, or if that doesn't work out, there's some places on Serene Woods where Bug types can live without much problem!

And regarding Aleida, you respond her by roaring like a Druggidon telling her that you are kind of busy at the moment, got some Poké-business in our hands

As you enter deeper into the forest, you notice the foliage around you grow denser and denser. Mimikyu is in the lookout for any berries he could cook.

There are various groups of Pokémon around here that could make for decent starters.

You should check out.

The group of Oddish near the edge of the woods, seems like someone else is already there, watering them, a young kid.

There are various Seedots that attach themselves to the bigger trees around the forest. You can hear the leaves of the trees rustling near them.

Technically a primary bug-type, but Sewaddles are also around the forest, seems like there's a nest nearby. But for some reason, you can see some smoke near that direction. Is someone making a campfire in the forest so early?

Which one should you check?

>Sewaddle
>Only you can prevent forest fires

You walk through the forest alongside your mons, Mimikyu has been picking up some berries along the way, Loudred wants to eat some right now but the Ghost type tells her that she should wait until he makes something with them. She wants to groan and bemoan but decides to act mature to set a good example for her little bro.

You finally found both, the Sewaddles disguising themselves as leaves in various of the trees near you. The source of the smoke a small campfire where a trainer and his Houndoom are cooking something. The fire type starts to growl when she notices you, but her trainer tells her to calm down.

[Sketchy looking trainer]: Shh, you’ll scare the free EXP.

The guy turns back to face you, looking at your team and your persons, is he sizing you up? You met eyes for a moment, the two of you stay silent for a moment, there’s a certain air of weirdness to this whole situation.

[Sketching looking trainer]: You want some stew?

[Sketching looking trainer]: Actually, you can’t have any, this is our only food.

You take pity on the guy, he reminds you of that hungry Zigzagoon that used to scavenge the trash cans in your house for food. You fed him until he got a trainer. Good times.

He also seems strangely familiar, is as if you’d seen his face somewhere else. Maybe multiple times.

Percy: I got some foodstuffs

Percy: Ehm, bought too many foodstuffs. For trip.

Percy: You want some?

[Sketchy looking trainer]: Yes, I would enjoy some foodstuffs greatly. For my hunger.

You let the guy eat some of your non-perishables food that you got for this trip, some dried noodles, beef jerky, a can of tuna. The dude just wolfs it down without caring a bit. He really needed it.

[Sketchy looking trainer]: I really needed that. Thanks, random trainer. My hunger has been quenched. Your kindness will be remembered.

Percy: Ehm, your welcome. Name’s Percy by the way. Just make sure to extinguish that fire after you are done.

[Sketchy looking trainer]: Sure, just. Let me stare at the flames a little longer.

The trainer seems enraptured by the dancing fire.

Deciding that it would for the better to leave this guy on his own, you don’t want to sound rude, but he seems a little bit odd. You don’t say it, but you think that the guy is rather stranger, definitely not a people person. That’s what you muse as you get ready to crawl on the floor and imitate a bug type.

It’s not hard to convince one of the little guys of coming along. Being with a human would mean access to different types of leaves and materials to make clothing.

Without much difficulty you catch a small female Sewaddle who’s more than ready to go on an adventure and take on the world of fashion!

>Caught a Sewaddle!
Alright, that was a piece of cake! May as well catch another one while we are at it, or maybe get a different one? For the sake of variety!

[Sketchy Looking Trainer]: Flamethrower

Before you concluded the bush at your side is covered in flame from the Houndoom’s mouth. All the Sewaddles and Swadloons are done for. Some of the bigger, evolved mons are barely keeping conscious, the other hidden Pokémon scatter about the forest.

[Sketchy Looking Trainer]: Let’s see. 1, 2, 3…. 8 out of 12, not too shabby.

[Sketchy Looking Trainer]: Oh, don’t worry. I’ll put it out after I’m done with the rest of them.

The recently caught Sewaddle looks in horror as her friends and family lay burning on the ground, their bodies charred, the few conscious ones contorting in pain.Thankfully, there were no lives losts.

You tell her everything will be alright as you send her to the PC, so she may not experience more of these horrors.

You start to connect the dots in your head, a trainer around your age, has a Houndoom, a fixation with fire, staying away from town. Strangely good looking...?

This guy is most probably the Arsonist!
You are dealing with a criminal here! (Probably?) this could be serious.

Even though Aleida could be considered a criminal with all that Poké-napping thing, even if the mons agreed to go with her. And Eli has broken the law before but those weren't really serious things. You think.

But this guy could be a dangerous criminal!

You'll try to talk him out of burning more innocent Pokémon and if that fails, you are definitely calling authorities

You'll try your best to make him realise the error of his actions, some introspection could do him good, let's go with that.

Percy: What the hell is wrong with you, you nutcase?!

[Fake-Arsonist?]:Uhm. Probably... a lot of things. Why do you ask?

Percy: That’s really messed up! They weren’t doing anything!

Percy: Houndoom, are you okay with this horrible acts? Why does your Master wants to see the world burn?

[Houndoom]: None of your business, human.

[Fake-Arsonist]: Hey don’t bark to my mon while we are talking. That’s rude. And as I was saying, Free EXP. I’m just battling.
Percy:That wasn’t battling! How would you feel if you were minding your own business and someone came along and set you and your family on fire?

[Fake-Arsonist]: You mean, if someone besides MYSELF, did that, right? Eh, it's beat or be beaten.

[Fake-Arsonist]: Doesn’t matter, I don’t want to beat you and take your money. At least not after the food. Move.

Percy: I won’t let you harm them.

[Fake-Arsonist ]: What are you gonna do? Fight me? Because, man. I’m just FUCKING Hungry for TRASHING someone.

[Fake-Arsonist ]: Almost as hungry as I am for some REAL FOOD.

Percy: If you dare to even scratch them…. I WON’T TREAT YOU FOR DINNER LATER

[Fake-Arsonist]: YOU MONSTER.

Percy: I’ll even throw some chili cheese fries if you help me heal them!

[Fake-Arsonist]: MOTHERFUCKER, I LOVE THOSE.

The fake arsonist agreed to stop if you get him some food. He got some Potions on his bag, using the medicine you and him heal the bug types. He makes sure to put out the fires first though. Good thing you notice all those potatoes and spicy aroma from the stew, so it wasn’t hard to deduce he would like them.

After biding adieu to Arsonist#2, you and your team go again into the woods where the Oddish are located. You’ll met him later at the local fast food joint.

It’s relaxing to walk around the forest, the peaceful sounds of nature. Pidgeys and Taillow chirping, the bug type Pokémon shuffling about in the ground. The Grass types rustling the leaves quietly. Houndour and Vulpix enjoy it very much, Houndour had lived all his life in the dumps of North Pass, he finds this change of scenery rather comforting. “I wouldn’t mind living somewhere like this.”

And Vulpix who was encased in the White Room is curious about all the different plants and things that surround them. Prince who’s gotten a little tired after his battle, rides on Loudred head as they try to snatch any berry they can find before Mimikyu does.

[Vulpix]: Hey Mimikyu, I need an impartial opinion!

[Mimikyu]: Speak, my companion.

[Vulpix]: Who’s the cutest in the group? Me or Loudred?

[Mimikyu]: Prince.

[Prince]: M-me? (The little Elekid looks rather embarrassed)

[Mimikyu]: He’s like a small Master.

[Mimikyu]: Loudred is rather cute too. She’s a graceful young lady, and when conflict arrives, she fights with spirit and determination.

[Loudred]: Ow, stop it big bro, you are making me embarrassed! And I think you are cute Vulpix!

Percy: I agree with Loudred, you are pretty cute. Even with all that mud from the Gyarados.

[Vulpix]: Hmph, at least I get some appreciation around here.

As you approach the edge of the forest you notice a young boy watering a Oddish with a Wailmer Pail, the small Grass types seem delighted! You recognize the kid, is your little cousin Adam. He turns to you with a look of complete apathy. He makes a “shh” motion with his finger close to his mouth then, he whispers something to the Oddish.

[Oddish]: Hello human! Adam wants to know if you put out that fire!
Percy:Yes, I did that, well I convinced the guy who started them to put them out!

You nod your head enthusiastically to let Adam know, he then whispers again to the Oddish

[Oddish]: We are thankful! Now leave this place! Before you make her notice us!

Seems like Adam is avoiding someone. You also use this chance to ask the Oddish if there are any mons willing to partner up with some Rookie trainers, he tells you that there are some but you’ll need to call them out.

>Imitate the Oddish call before that someone notices you and Adam. (Requires roll)

You can hear the steps of someone else become nearer and nearer. A girlish voice calls for Adam, your cousin seems to be trying to tell you to hurry it up or get out of here while you still can.

Time to use that Poké-vocalization of yours!

Imitating as accurately as possible an Oddish cry, you ask for any volunteers to become starters. A couple of Oddish get up from the ground where they were hiding. They argue a bit among themselves before deciding in which one would go with you. They let Adam decide.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HowUHhaipok

The little grass type is excited to go on an adventure of her own. You think about catching her right here but your cousin advices you against it since you could alert whoever is following him. He proceeds to hide in the bushes after hearing the steps grow a bit louder.

[???]: Adam! Where are you? Hide and seek is over!

[???]: Oh… where did the little guy go? I’m the worst babysitter ever. Couldn’t even find any starters for the professor.

It’s the girl who threw a Pokéball at you earlier. The one with the symbol of the “Holy mon”. You start to smell something sweet on the air. It’s enticing, Elekid and Loudred want to check it out but you recognize it. It’s sweet scent. The girl seems to be lured by the smell into another direction, she’s looking for the source of it, being completely distracted she’s then hit by a “Sleep Powder”

The girl falls to the ground, she’s been put in a deep sleep. After she lost consciousness Adam comes out of his hiding spot and whispers once again to one of the Oddish.

[Oddish]: Adam says to not worry about her, the edge of the forest is safe!

The little runt then proceeds to run off to who knows where.

With nothing else to worry about you decide to catch Oddish!

After meeting once again with Kadabra who seems to have a lot of thoughts on his mind about what comes after death and what means for a human to be a “truly good person” he mutters his ideas to himself, he wants to try visiting a library next time. Specifically one with history books about the region history.

You make your way through town heading for the lab, Loudred is carrying an unconscious teenage girl.

[Mimikyu]: Master, may I suggest we sped up a little?

Percy: Why do you say so Mimikyu?

[Mimikyu]: Seems like people are taking about Master on a non-appropriate way, I wouldn’t like your reputation to be tainted for a misinterpretation of your actions.

[Prince]: We do look kind of sketchy.

You didn’t take notice before, but you can see it now, passersby are looking at you with a worried look, you see them mutter to themselves, some just take a quick glance and try to walk away, others seem to be deciding whether to call the authorities or not.

Better clear this up!

Percy: I’m not doing anything to this girl! She just fell asleep in the woods! I’m just bringing her to safety! If she were conscious, she would agree to this, probably!

Good job, you.

[Houndour]: Just get us in our balls and let Kadabra teleport us there. I’m getting uncomfortable with all these looks.

[Mimikyu]: For some reason, just disappearing with an unconscious human girl would seem even worse.

You finally reach the lab. Gareth is already here; he and the Professor seem to be doing some work. She seems to be making small surveillance cameras to fit onto the various Weedles and Caterpies and Gareth helps her fit them, they go around their head like a head band. One of the Weedles stands in his shoulder, seems like he got a new teammate/ friend.

[Gareth]: Oh man, they look so cool. Like little secret agents. Spy-mons. If that were a movie, I would watch that. You think you could make one that looks like a cowboy hat?

[Proffesor Maple]: That would be a bit impractical… But rather cute. Maybe I could make one for you?

Percy: Hey Professor I’m back! I got two sets of starters! … and a girl? Where can I put them?

The professor thanks you for your job, you went out of your way to get a spare set, they would be a great help for the rookie trainers starting out. As the leading authority on Pokémon around town, she got permission to try the old “starter system” back with some trainers willing to help her research, even though most of kids around here just went to the city to do the test as you did.

She also explains the nature of your job as a field researcher, she’s been studying Pokémon ecosystems around Aztlan, in both nature and human populations. She wants to compare the communities and mannerism of Pokémon who live on the wild and the ones that have adapted to living alongside humans. The Pokédex registers information automatically when you encounter Pokémon, so she advises you to keep it out. She’ll also notify you if there are any areas of interests, she would like you to visit. She can’t pay you in cash right now, but your work could help the Pokémon Scientific community greatly! Or at the very least, help this little lab.

She hands you your newly repaired Pokédex! She removed the White Veil tracker it got and connected with the computers at the lab, so she can gather data directly from it. Beside the data recording function that comes with every Pokédex and the function to see the stats of your mons, it seems to come with a unique feature, a radar of sorts. D.P TRACKER it’s how’s the program is called. The Professor couldn’t make head or tails of what it tracks.

You check your dex for a bit, seems like you got almost all of the stats of your team down when you made your little list. This will certainly help to see the growth of your mons more quickly. Also, it seems like you misjudged Loudred a bit, the Stats that the Dex gives you are considerably higher than you thought, specially her Attack and Sp. Attack. Also, for some reason in her entry there’s an [I] capitalized at the top left of the screen. This only appears on her profile.

And Prince damn, he’s got a lot of developing potential. His stats are off the charts for such a young Pokémon! Checking the D.P TRACKER reveals something, it seems to be registering something, something small, the source is Prince.

Percy: Hey Professor, got a question here. Why did you send me for starters if that girl was already looking for them?

[Proffesor Maple]: Jeanne? I didn’t send her. I just told her I was missing them. But, being who she is, she probably went and tried to catch them for me… Why is she unconscious?

[Gareth]: You are not in trouble with the law right? I’m I an accomplice?

After explaining them about what happened with the Oddish at Serene woods they seem a lot calmer.

>Handed out starters
>Obtained repaired Pokédex!

Hm. If it’s getting a reaction from Prince, maybe it’s intended to detect these Behemoths we keep hearing about? Speculation aside, I’ve gotta say, your writing’s definitely improved Mediocre. Been participating since the first thread (Not right from the start, but around the time we first got introduced to Eli and Dick through their argument over the test), and while there’s still plenty of room for improvement, your writing’s become quite a bit more coherent I’d say.

Ibarra Village, a day ago.

After a fierce battle in the middle of the street Jaws the Croconaw stands victorious against his rival, an unconscious Victreebell. The losing trainer in a fit of rage throws the money he wagered to Eli. “Now I got to start my Nuzlocke run all over again!” She laughs at him and tells him to suck it up. “I’ll beat your next team too!”

A college aged man stands near, looking confused while holding a notebook and a pen. A blonde girl evaluates the pictures she took from that battle with her camera,

Eli: I’m on a roll today! Hey, Gary, you took notes from that awesome battle?

[Gareth]: I tried to, but you were only whistling and shouting every time you knocked out a mon, I didn’t now what to write down.

Jaws scoffs, belittling Gareth’s intelligence. Bug man steps up to defend his friend. The conflict is interrupted by Tremor, who acknowledges that Eli, even though she’s the best trainer, may not be the best teacher.

Eli: Man, you lack battling perspective, we need to beat you to shape if you want to roll with us! Hey, how did the pics come out?

Kali: I got some good shots, I’ll send them to you later, by the way, are you sure you didn’t mind what that girl said?

Eli: Pftt, no. She was just talking shit.

[Jaws]. AND HER SHIT TALKIN GAME WAS WEAK AS FUCK.

Eli: He couldn’t do better than me! I’m the best!

The blonde girl smiles coyly.

Kali:You seem pretty confident. Did something happened between Per.. I mean, that “guy you like” and you?

Eli:I don’t *like* him! I’m just … interested in him. A little, just as friends though!

The punkish seems to get flustered when the right buttons are pushed, and her “friend” seems to enjoy doing so, even if it’s just means to her ends.

Kali:C’mon Eli, spill the details. You know you can *trust* me.

Eli: …We cuddled, while watching a movie.

Eli seems very embarrassed about the whole deal. What are you doing blushing like that you punk?

Kali can’t believe that’s what she ended up doing after she told her to “be more aggressive”, but maybe that’s all that they needed, just a little push in the right direction. After that, everything should be a smooth sailing. Make Eli trust her, become her confident. Her *friend*. She’d done it before, it’s not too hard to pretend.

What’s it is hard is to believe that someone would be interested on *him*. Seriously what is wrong with that girl? He smells like poke-kibble and grass.

Eli: Hey, real-feel time. I’m kind of a rookie in this area, most boys I know either want to beat the shit outta me or are fucking scared of me, so thanks for the advice blondie.

Kali: Don’t worry about Eli, you know, I’ll always be there if you need some help!

Eli: Alright, enough of this pussy-feelings stuff! Let’s take a picture! Just you and me!

Eli took out her old-model cellphone, she just wants the picture for herself. Kali poses for the camera, it’s not hard to fake a smile.

Meds whats the benefit to writing Kali as such a completely unlikable cunt? Because now we're just going to want nothing to do with her even more. Any chance of us wanting to interact with her was already pretty low, and it just plummeted to zero.

Is there any chance of us becoming semi decent at talking to people? And why the hell are we still smelling like kibble we haven't eaten any since the second thread

We need to take a very long shower and maybe get a like buzz cut or something

I'm constantly trying to write the ultimate "Worst Girl" in terms of personality

Honestly, she's a fun character to write, even if she's just your standard mean teen girl. I felt this write-in needed to finish establishing some aspects of her personality.

She's one of the best foils to Percy, and in-character serves as a reminder of why him has trouble dealing with people.

A not-so-friendly rival fit for this first part of the quest. At least before we get into the "second act"

Even if she's one of the last persons Percy would willingly spend time with and vice versa. The animosity between them could led to some interesting scenarios, at least that's what I believe.

The in-story reason is. That Percy is the only one who has gotten a glimpse at who the "Real" Kali is, and there's a lot of nasty stuff to dig through. Is there something "good" at her core? Who knows!

>>3033503
Everything is possible. Percy has gotten better in these 2 weeks (in-game), and constantly rolls high on most social rolls. It's not a faraway dream.

And the whole smelling like kibble, well. That's what Kali thinks at least, first impressions hit hard.

Also, kibble it's Percy's midnight snack and he carries Poké-treats on his pockets wherever he goes.
>>
>>3033503
I'm more curious about what her angle is here. What does she have to gain here? The most I can think of is maybe getting some dirt on Percy or trying to screw up their relationship, which let's be honest here, Percy is much more capable of doing that accidentally than any of her machinations.
>>
>>3033377
>>3033379
Yes I was waiting for this one. Best girl and worst girl continue to hold thier positions.

>What if
>Percy takes the Bounty Hunther out of jail instead of Eli and does good on his rolls.

[Police Officer]: So, you are here for your friend, right? Just tell me who she is, and I’ll get her out.

Eli: Finally! Dude, I was getting worried I’d had to spend more time with her!

Percy: The bounty hunter, ehm. (You make sure to point to her to avoid any misinterpretation.)

[Diane]: Diane.

Percy:Yup, Diane, that’s the one.

Eli: What the fuck weirdo!?

You decided to let Eli stay a bit more time behind the bars, maybe that way she can learn to stay away from causing trouble. Also, Diane is pretty cute.

Your traveling companion couldn’t believe you at first.
After assuring Eli it wasn’t a joke you left the station with the Bounty Hunter as Eli threw insults at you and the girl, fueled by pure blind rage.
Eli: You asshole, I can’t believe I watched a “Lake of Rage” with you! That hurts man!

Eli: Once I’m outta here I’ll trash both your asses beyond recognition! That’s a promise!

The Bounty Hunter just gives Kali the smuggest grin she can muster before hugging your healthy arm tightly just to rile her up even more, she smells nice. You feel like this was a good decision.

You are sure you can fix the situation with Eli later. You didn’t

Diane the bounty hunter seems pleasantly surprised about how the situation unfolded, without Eli around she’s actually pretty chill if a bit serious. She’s a rising Bounty Hunter who wishes to get into the Capture and Defense Forces one day. She’s going to the ruins to find a Sableye who stole some items from her, you decided to help her out on this task.
You showed her your Poké-communication and she was just mildly weirded off and really interested!

[Diane]: Well, you may have a nice trick up your sleeve. But, do you even know how to track Pokémon? How would you go about finding a Sableye?

Percy: You have no idea who you are dealing with. (You say, rather proud of your extensive knowledge about tons of Pokéstuff). Because of their diets, Sableye’s fecal matter tend to have small bits of materials that resemble precious gems. It’s commonly called…

[Diane]: Dirty Stardust. That’s 6th grade level trivia, c’mon

Percy: And I’m not finished, Sableye’s usually have certain planned routes to move. While they may leave their droppings at plain sight to fool another Pokémon. They dug out small shallow holes to hide their presence, and because the form of it’s claws as wells as his long arms for his tiny body, is possible to identify these holes, especially if they are recent ones, also…
>>
>>3035454
You and the Bounty hunter enthusiastically discussed tracking methods for a good while, the two of you were so entranced by your talk that you eventually forgot all about the Sableye and your friend who’s still in jail.

[Diane]: You really know your stuff, even if you aren’t the “Arsonist” I’m looking for I could use your help sometimes.

Percy:Sure, just hit me up whenever you want to talk about droppings! And how do you know I’m not the dreaded “Arsonist”?

[Diane]: Because I’ve seen him before, and, believe me. There’s no way you could be *him*

....

After helping Diane capture the Sableye and solving the problems between them she actually added him to her team.

You got her contact info, and even though your briefly thought about traveling with her she shot you down since she prefers to go solo.

You encountered a pretty furious Eli after getting out of the ruins.

A battle later she calmed down a bit, she's still considerably sour you choose a complete stranger over her and decided to continue the journey on her own.
