You have all gathered in the King's villa in Loslina to discuss the plan for the war. Infront of you lies a map from the Copal detailing the Gotti holdings. What shall be your plan for this war and how many men shall you deploy?

Copal Forces: 1500 Men 10 40-Oar Boats
Lightwatcher Population: 29,850
Navy: 12 Ships (50-Oar)

The Gotti are estimated to have about 3000 warriors and 30 boats of varying size.

You have decided to go with Nutesh Seastorms plan to send half of your warriors and warships to help the Copal conquer the Gotti. The King of Copal outlines his simple plan to land your combined army north of Harik's point before marching upon the city and wiping out their seat of power. With this you send out 2000 men to assist along with 6 warships and 24 Angelsharks. This brings you up to a total army of 3500 men.

Please roll me three 1d100 for your landing and preparations.

This is all going way too well Tha'Rayan thinks to himself, he ends up taking a small party ahead of the main army to scout. He is quick to realize how right he is, not two days ahead is a massive army of near 3,000 Gotti and 1,000 warriors in garb you do recognize some of the Gotti are mounted on what look like giant boars! The army at the moment looks like it is marching into a slaughterhouse! How could the Gotti have known about your plan?

What will you do?

A single man emerges from the front ranks of the Gotti, he is clad in golden jewelry with fine clothes draped over him but you can also tell he is a warrior to the core. His voices booms across the battlefield like thunder.

"Men of Loslina! I am King Cul of the Gotti! There is no reason for you to die here today! If you surrender your weapons and leave these Copal dogs to die I shall allow you safe passage from this place! The Gotti did not start this war but by the might of Pashtol we shall end it!"

The greatest archer of the Lightwatchers Savando Dazkhod draws his bow and unleashes an arrow that flies straight slamming into the Kings forehead slaying him instantly.

With this the Gotti scream with such rage that shakes even the most hardened of soldiers! The Gotti have seem to have given up on any tactics and have launched an all out charge into your lines!

Normal Success

As they learned with the raging beastmen the men of Loslina quickly form a shield wall to push back the raging charging. The first thrust is bloody and horrible as the men of Gotti fight like wild animals wishing to simply inflict as much damage as possible with little care for their own lives. Most damage however is done by the Boar Riders who on their mighty beasts can simply break through the shield wall and trample those behind it.

As the shield wall holds in many places the Boar Riders find themselves having pushed in too deeply into your lines as they are pulled from their mounts or simply barraged with blows from all sides till they die. The men of Gotti have begun to lose their heart as the exhaustion of the march catches up with them, many are starting to flee from the battlefield.

There is nothing more the exhausted Gotti can do as many begin to flee or surrender, the slaughter of this battle has been on an unseen scale. Many of the Gotti weep deeply for the death of their King and the defeat to such a dishonorable opponent.

Gotti:
1500 Dead
2000 Captured
500 Fled

Lightwatchers:
800 Dead
1200 Alive

Copal:
500 Dead
1000 Alive

One of the captured men introduces himself as Hector of Bojmor a neighboring kingdom and asks for you to send a messenger to his King to pay the ransom for his release.

What will you do now?

Hector informs you he was sent by his King when the Gotti requested aid stopping the aggressive Copal subjugating them. He is happy to allow you to escort him and swears to return with a chest of gold to purchase his men's freedom.

Your new Gotti captives have little to say beyond swearing at you for murdering their King or simply weeping. You however deal with the wounded and begin the slow march of dragging your captives along to Harik's point. When you are about one day away from the city a messenger ship arrives telling you that the new King of the Gotti has sworn an oath to the King of Copal and become his vassal, the war is over!
------
Several weeks later Hector returns with a chest of gold for his men and thanks from his King for sparing them. He wishes you all the best of luck in the coming years.
----
On your return the King has Savando Dazkhod taken prisoner and has placed three new Kingly edicts that shall be obeyed!

Firstly a lord or citizen may not wage war on another people without the permission of the Kng
Secondly no lord shall possess an army without permission from the King.
Thirdly to sell a Angelshark to a heretic is to harm it and will be met with death.

To celebrate their victory in war and more firmly cement himself as King a grand Coronation ceremony is hosted which includes a parade through the streets, a great sacrifice to Galoris, the crowning itself and a massive feast to top it all off! The people are very happy with this and it is sure to become a tradition for future kings!

In other news border skirmishes have once again broken out between Bojmor and Samir.

You send a diplomatic envoy to meet with the Bojmor, they a hardy people with advanced agriculture and husbandry. They use mighty beasts called horses for both war and agriculture. Their main city is dominated by a massive fortress built into a cliff called Hajmor. They are happy to open trade with you as the love to import exotic goods.

The skirmishes with Samir are over a piece of land that the Samir claim was ceded to them in a previous treaty but the Bojmor deny that claim.

You gotta build up before the war not during man and thats a lot harder when people think of you as a dick
>>
>>3025361
Actually, the opposite is true. When you are at peace and building boats, the folks think of you as a dick cause they do not see the need for more boats. But when you are at war (of course, purely defensive war which we started only to knock the wind off these dishonorable aggressors) everyone understands the need for building more ships. In other words, war solves everything.

The forges of Loslina burn with new intensity and fervor. It seems the strange man Tommas who was brought back from the ocean is a skilled smith. He introduces new techniques to allow for hotter flames and the refining of the strange metal the Beastmen used, he calls it Iron. It is stronger, can be crafted into longer blades and does not need two metals to craft like bronze. The smiths have mostly practiced on melting down old Beastman weapons and armor but will need a steady source of Iron in the future.

In other news, Bojmor has ceded the disputed lands to Samir who under the command of Tha'Rayan the Bloody River defeated a large warhost capturing their crown prince.

It seems you do not have to look far to find a source of Iron, in the centre of Loslina not far from your current tin mine you find an ample supply of Iron ore ready to be turned into all manner of tool and weapons!

In other news the old King of Copal has died of old age and his son has risen to take his place. Not only that but he has decided to crown himself as Emperor of the Wine-Dark Sea.

Tha’Rayan the Bloody River has returned after many long years of learning and fighting in Samir to help advance his home military. This training is mainly focused around a tactic he made himself, the Phalanx. In this formation men work together as one with shield and long spear to protect each other and destroy the enemy. He also spreads the idea of that among every ten men there should be a leader or Lightbearer who shall lead his fellows. He also stresses that under war a supreme commander above all should be selected, before he joined the Samir they often left command to committees which devolved into squabbling.

Gain Unit Commander: Lightbearer- Easily spotted by having a tall plume on his helmet and a shield painted blue.

In other news a strange ship has arrived in Loslina, it is of gigantic size and crewed by strange brown men. They are lead by a man in outlandish dress and of prodigious height who introduces himself as Cipactli of the Eagle, Warden of the Yazadan. He wishes to extend the hand of friendship from the Sunset Imperium and to begin trade with your people.

Twenty sinners are thrown from the cliff before the Temple of Galoris. For the next month the waters around Loslina dance with colours ranging from red to purple to green. The exhausted Priests finally assemble all citizens of Loslina to hear the words of Galoris.

Gold lies under Boar, Silver in the south of Merli, Grapes grow in hidden groves on Teris, A god lies within Umbra, Iron in the north of Merli, Betrayal from the Copal next year, Samir is paralyzed by elections, to the far south in the Kelp lies a weapon of power.

After this long translation the Stormseer passes away with Barekbaal of the Ruby Commune ascending to become the new Stormseer.

A plot most foul has been concocted by the Stormseer, if the Copal wish to betray us then we shall strike first with the righteous fury of Galoris! A messenger is quickly sent out to invite the Emperor of Copal and the King of Gotti to a great feast to discuss the inclusion of Loslina into the Empire of the Wine-Dark Sea. Only about three hundred men know the true nature of this as the common folk prepare for this feast placing decorations of welcome all over the city!

How shall you conduct this deception and when will you strike?
>>
>>3041990
The Copal Emperor and Gotti king will join the grand feast where after some time passes, our King will ask the Copal Emperor for a private talk in prepared room. There there will be an ambush set up with the goal of knocking out the Copal Emperor. The Gotti King will be invited to visit the prison chambers where Savando the Kingslayer is. On the way there he too will also be ambushed and knocked out. The guards that come with them can be killed or if they decide to join the feast will be poisoned. After the two rulers are knocked out the next goal will be capturing the Copal ships or in the worst case burning them down to prevent escape.
>>
>>3041999
This will happen on the first day, two/three hours after the start of the feast.
>>
>>3041999
We could bring around our own old decrepit ships and fill them with fuel and move them to block in the copal ships. They will be forced to fight and die on board the ships.

We need more men to be available to hold down the emperor as a precaution if he is such a chosen champion. He may be skilled.

Will savando do the kingslaying. If so its more poetic justice.

After the feast is in full swing you lead the King of Gotti down into the dungeons, he is very amiable with you and thanks you for this opportunity to avenge his father. He knows there has been some bad blood between your people but hopes that united together as one that the islanders can stand up against the growing threat of Samir.

As you eventually reach the the jail cell he turns around in horror and shock! It seems whatever ability his god has granted him has tipped him off to the slaughter that is starting upstairs.

He quickly draws his weapon along with his two guards and prepares to fight for his life!

The Stormseer is waiting for them as they arrive, the Emperor of Copal has not regained consciousness bu the King of Gotti screams and rages against his chains. The Stormseer says nothing as he motions over towards the cliff, he only smiles slightly as the King of Gotti is hurled screaming over the edge with the Emperor of Copal following him not long after.

It is several hours before anything changes but eventually a pure white light pierces up from the depths of a brightness unlike any seen before, the cliff is illuminated as if it was day.
