Let me explain how the power points system stolen and slightly altered from a dead quest works.> Superpowers range on a tier system from tier 1 to tier 20. A tier 1 power is enough to give a slight edge over an ordinary citizen, a tier 5 power is enough to confront a squad of trained professionals on equal footing, a tier 10 power is enough destroy a small town with little difficulty, a tier 15 power is enough destroy a small country with little difficulty, and a tier 20 power is enough to pose a threat to human civilization.> 1 in 10,000 people have superpowers, generally, the more superpowers someone has, the weaker each one is, and vice versa. The vast majority of superpowers are between tiers 1 and 5, with uncommon outliers ranging from tiers 6 to 10. Powers at tiers 11 through 15 are extremely rare and widely feared. Powers between tier 16 and 20 range from fleetingly extraordinary to one in a million, and are spoken of only in hushed whispers.> To determine which tier your superpowers fall under you have 28 power points, as rolled earlier. Power points can be spent to upgrade a superpower's tier at the cost of 1 per tier between tiers 1-10, and 2 per tier between tiers 11-20. If you have an unwanted superpower, you can sacrifice it for 2 extra points.> Additional power points can be gained in-game through violence and extensive training, which you'll learn more about as the game continues. Once certain powers have reached a specific tier, you'll get the chance to spend power points on closely related powers, and if you wish, you can spend 4 power points for an additional roll.

Getting rich is all cool and dandy but I'm missing some deeper motivation.I'm thinking a shooting in which our dad, mom and sis were killed cause a policeman was too trigger-happy. Whatever the truth, our guy now has a strong attitude against people in formal authority positions (this goes for self-appointed superheroes too). Is this too edgy?In any case, I imagine the first months of our new-found life spent mostly hedonising.
Name: I don't careGender: maleAge: early/mid twentiesAppearance: 6'1", short dark brown hair, light brown eyes, barely tamable messy brown hairOccupation: student (law), unpaid intern at a law firm (mostly checking for grammar and spelling errors in documents while learning the trade)Background: Born and raised in the big city in a better neighborhood. We believed in justice and forgiving our former enemies (like son goku), and wanted to help the community by becoming a lawyer. However, we had a somewhat rude awakening to how the world works. At first we thought that maybe we could help from the inside of the system and continued our path as a lawyer, but that illusion fell throughout high school as well. When it came to applying for colleges our grades were good enough and it will pay a lot, so why not become another cog in the machine and use it to our advantage? When we got our powers we got a little bit of hope back, that we can change the world for the better, but we only liked the idea of being a super hero, but we found that doing actual heroing is equally hard work and even when we try our best we get blamed for everything that goes slightly wrong which made us bitter and even resentful towards some of the heroes who seem to pull it off. When we stopped a higher level drug sale we figured that there was no reason for us not to simply keep the money while leaving the drugs as evidence.
>>3037824> I'm thinking a shooting in which our dad, mom and sis were killed cause a policeman was too trigger-happy. Twenty-four years old and almost impossible to pick out of a crowd, all you have to show for it is a dingy apartment in downtown Albuquerque and a gig flipping burgers in one of the nastiest McDonald's you've ever set foot in.It's not like you care, you could work here a hundred years and barely crack assistant manager. Used to be one of the hardest workers in the industry, but having teens with half your experience and a fourth of your work ethic promoted over you puts a damper on that. You've stopped caring, if your supervisors won't notice you either way, there's no reason to put in any more effort than the bare minimum. Which is what you're doing now.Working the register while your screaming 5'4, 500 pound boss gets in your face and spits all over the front of your uniform. This isn't the first time this has happened, and you know she'll find someone else to screech at in twenty-odd minutes, but it's still irritating. None of the few customers care enough to stare and you're starting to contemplate the benefits of pan-handling when something hits you out of nowhere. A blinding white light fills every facet of your being and you collapse, instinctively clutching your head in a vain attempt to stop the agonizing, splitting headache. And then, as quick as it came, the light and the pain is gone, and something feels... different.Your face, your skin, and even your personality seem malleable, you almost feel you could reach out and touch the light from the ceiling, you have a powerful urge to mimic *something* and suddenly, luck isn't something so mysterious. You feel *stronger* than ever before, and staring at your boss's fivehead, it's like you've opened your eyes for the first time. You start to get up when she kicks you in the ribs and somehow starts screaming even louder.> "Dafuq you doin' on the flo' shithead? I don' pay you sit on yo' ass, get dafuq up n' get to scrubbin' out 'dem toilets 'fore I get a belt on yo' ass!"Suddenly, your dead-end shit job doesn't seem to matter, and your seething disdain ignites to an overwhelming urge to take your petty revenge!> What's the first thing you do with your newfound power?> Charles Wolf> Traits:> Hard to notice> Superpowers:> Elemental Kinesis (Light): Tier 2> Probability Manipulation: Tier 3> Disguise Maker: Tier 14> Power Copying: Tier 14> Inventory: > $12 USD> McDonald's Uniform (worn)

But that can wait, for now, you need to check the news.> In Milwaukee, the crime rate has exploded many times over, with five banks and nineteen stores robbed in broad daylight. Reviewing the footage, police are unable to find who's responsible, only a rapid blur in and out of the structures. Perhaps unsurprisingly, they already have a GoFundMe with a goal of $500,000,000 USD by this time next month.Never-mind the news, if you want to eat you've got to make bank, and the best way to do that with Probability Manipulation is to hit up the casino. Not a physical one though, too many wins from one table could draw too much attention, and that's not something you're willing to risk. Hmm, maybe you'll snag a scratch off on the way there.Little over five hours later, you're $53 USD richer. $28 of it came from the scratch tickets your meager pockets could afford, with three out of three wins, and $25 of it from an intense game of blackjack in an online casino. Under a false name, of course. It's 4:45 by the time you arrive, but class is on until 8:00, so you stay for the lecture. The rest of the room is mostly druggies, hipsters, and homeless who came for the snacks, but the teacher's a hard-nosed old hag with a gnarled cane and a glare that could scrape the paint off a school-bus, that vocally doesn't care about the 'Super Phenomenon' and demands the class's full, unabridged attention. She goes on all night on the principles of throwing your voice and facing the audience, and it's not very helpful, but there's another class going from 2:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday. That's two days from now, and free to attend since you've already dumped the $10 USD. Honestly, it's a bit boring and you're wary of the way the teacher swings her cane, but you're sure next time it won't be so bad, and besides, it beats McDonald's any-day.It's 8:00 PM on a Monday night when you leave, and you're a lone, visibly unarmed young man, biking in the inner city. >>3046218> Loose ends will be the death of us in this quest I am sure of it! If we can kill someone away from.witnesses we should do it. This.Though trying to tamper with the situation to lead investigators to false conclusions seems unnecessary, and potentially more dangerous than just finishing them off and moving on. We already have our finger prints all over the bat as it is, and the longer we spend moving their bodies around the higher chance that we'll get caught by a bystander.
>>3046218Playing it safe is boring. Loose ends make the quest more fun.Ingame perspective: It's only our second day of being a super and we just won our first serious fight, ever. >>3046284> Taking the bat would only overcomplicate. How so?> No one will bother taking prints off two maimed thugs. There's nothing extraordinary about this, why would someone even suspect a super involvement?Because, when questioned on how they got their injuries, the maimed thugs may mention that a super attacked them. If that were to happen then this humdrum assault case suddenly jumps up in priority for whatever government/law enforcement agency is presently trying to deal with the superhuman problem. At that point it is a simple matter to pressure the thugs for a description of their assailant and then refocus and intensify their investigation.
>>3046237Write what? A vague description of a guy who he saw in a dark alley and was blinded by using a flashlight?
Reminder that murder is not something you can do easily especially if you are a normal human being with modicum of empathy, a sense of right and wrong and sense of guilt and considering our MC's reaction to accidentally killing his boss killing 2 guys lying on the ground without any remorse is simply out of character

>>3046325>No one's gonna believe them. Hell, no one is gonna ask them. Besides, do you think they are gonna talk? They would only incriminate themselves. What makes you think this? Superhumans have been showing up everywhere. Not a day ago, a super tore his way out of a jail cell, killing several police officers in the process. Further, they're the victims of an assault. If taken to a hospital, they've going to be asked how they were injured, and they're going to say that a superhuman attacked them (obviously, when recounting the situation, they would omit the fact that they were trying to mug said super) because it is the simplest response, and also technically true.> Taking the bat is the same as taking the switchblade. We are now carrying not only hard evidence (blood) we were involved in that incident but also indirect admission of guilt (why did you take the bat?). It also hints at someone's involvement - if the police find the bat and switchblade at the scene it's two guys duking it out. If the bat and/or switchblade are missing the question "Who attacked them?" gets asked.Unless the muggers do what I described above. In which case, parties interested in superhumans may reopen the case and inspect the evidence more closely. Since Charles' fingerprints are all over one of the weapons, they'll come right for us.> You are vastly overestimating the power of government.Maybe. Maybe this incident will slip the net of local law enforcement. Still, I'd argue that it is better to be paranoid than to be imprisoned.
Anons this isn't about playing psychopath we chose to be a vigilante/villain we are protecting ourselves from being identified or discovered in anyway. >>3046340Addendum wipe fingerprints from bat using muggers clothes. Then kill both with new switchblade
>>3046330Let's assume they are gonna talk. Do you think they are the only ones claiming superpowers? Since yesterday, everyone and their uncle has been swearing by supers if it's convenient for them. Besides, there's no evidence of super involvement. It's not like steel bars are protruding from them, or acid ate them from inside or whatever. Our flashes of light and probability manipulation do not leave material evidence.>Further, they're the victims of an assaultThey are if we take the bat.>>3046336>>3046340Why mix in third party when all the circumstancial evidence points to disagreement gone violent? As it is right now, no one is gonna ask "Who attacked them?". Furthermore, as >>3046340 said they would probably score positive on a drug test (if anyone bothers giving it to them) which discredits them even further. By killing them or taking the bat or whatever we are only getting caught in our own net.
>>3046345Make it look like they stabbed/killed each other or another junkie did it. They're junkies, they die in alleys all the time. All we need is someone to potentially listen to their story and we're opening ourselves to a whole host of issues. Kill them now, make it look like another mugger killed 'em and leave them in the gutter.
>>3046345Yes. It's been a day and some change. At this point, how many people could have had reason to invoke the 'supers dun it' excuse. Probably not enough for the police force to become so jaded as to disregard reports involving supers.Further, the scenario you laid out doesn't quite add up. So, these two low-lives get into a brawl and wallop each other good. An ambulance is anonymously called, and they are brought into the hospital. When asked by the attending staff how they were injured, they both use the excuse of a superhuman attacking them instead of blaming the incident on the person they were supposedly fighting.
>>3046353Can we not just use our photokinesis to destroy the bat anyway? Then use the knife to kill them both and throw it down a drain? Or leave it lying there, in one of their hands?
If we are tearing ourselves apart over killing 2 junkies , we are definitely gonna fuck up later cause of muh morality
>>3046359According to the description of our powers (found here: >>3037026), our photokinesis is roughly as powerful as .38 pistol.I'm not a gun guy, but that doesn't sound strong enough to reduce a wooden bat into a pile of splinters in a reasonable number of shots. Maybe if we pour our points into it?Moreover, the additional flashes of light could draw attention, and finding an exploded baseball bat may rise an eyebrow with first-responders and investigators.

Now how ‘bout...”You feel your body heighten as hair bursts from every part of it, and you smile at Peter’s reflection.> “Niiice.”You spend the next three hours shifting into various reflections of people you’ve seen before, and find that you’re capable of mirroring custom, unique, probably non-existent people in exacting detail. There aren’t any limitations on who you can shapeshift into, but you find you aren’t able to change your body’s height by more than roughly a foot and a half, or its mass by more than forty or so pounds, and you’re unable to shift into any visibly inhuman forms or grow appendages. In addition, you’re able to mimic women, but the process takes a full minute rather than a few seconds, and you feel it’ll take plenty of practice to convincingly pull off female mannerisms.Interestingly enough, with a bit of focus you’re able to change the appearance of non-living items, but unlike your body, not their properties. For example, you made your wooden chair look like a much comfier recliner, but it still felt as hard on your rear, and made a bar of soap mimic gold, but it was just as fragile and didn’t weigh any more. You’re able to keep your bodily changes indefinitely, but these illusions fade after half an hour, or last up to two hours if you spend fifteen minutes focusing on their creation. If illusory items are making physical contact with you, they last until you lose focus, but it’s easy enough to do so that their duration might as well be indefinite. You’re relieved to find you can shift back into your regular form on reflex, and are extremely excited by the power’s potential.> +1 XPIt’s 11:00 AM, Tuesday.> What do you want to do?> Charles Wolf> 2/15 XP> Traits:> Hard to notice> Superpowers:> Elemental Kinesis (Light): Tier 2> Probability Manipulation: Tier 4> Disguise Maker: Tier 14> Power Copying: Tier 15> Bank Account:> $356> Inventory: > $146 USD> Street Clothes (worn)> (2/2)

On the topic of money, his thoughts turn back to the public bounty placed on 'Bulletproof'. Charles had to admit that it was tempting, A couple hundred thousand dollars would definitely keep him above water for a while. Though, presuming he is somehow able to kill or subdue this hardened, superpowered criminal, how could he receive the reward without surrendering his identity? Charles doubts that he would just be given a dump trunk filled with unmarked bills. Perhaps he could use his shapeshifting ability to acquire information on 'Bulletproof', his daily routine, long-term plans, weaknesses, and anonymously anonymously trade this information piece-by-piece to the authorities for smaller payouts, delivered via deaddrops maybe?Turning the idea over in his head, Charles tried to remember if there was anything that he knew about the gang 'Bulletproof' belonged to.

>>3047644> Ennis Randal doesn’t do meth or take pills, he just slings it, though if word on the street is to believed he’s a serious fan of psychedelics. Allegedly, he can’t aim for shit but he’s quick enough with his steel that it doesn’t really matter.> As everyone in Albuquerque knows, he can morph his body into a steel-like substance, rendering him immune to low caliber rounds, and manipulate metal to a dangerous degree, but what isn’t well-known on the streets is that he can increase temperatures, making his rods molten hot before they strike and do something to the air around him, making it hazy so there's an off-chance bullets ricochet before they hit.> The Albuquerque Active Krew is a roughly 400 strong gang heavily involved in drug-trafficking. Aside from a handful of jury-rigged automatic rifles, they don’t have any firepower more intense than glock pistols and pump shotguns. Ennis used to be a rank-and-file lackey, but after he broke out of prison he butchered the former boss when he wouldn’t step down, and declared himself, to quote, “Head Honcho of the AAK Killas.”> Word on the street about the change in leadership has gotten around, and a steady trickle of turncoats from other gangs has started coming in, three lesser supers among them. If the current rate continues, in two weeks the gang’s size will triple and he plans to start an inner-city gang alliance and start muscling out the Bandidos cartel. Rumor has it, he and eight others plan to rob a bank at 9:00 PM this Thursday, but he doesn’t know the exact location.> At the moment, the Albuquerque Active Krew doesn’t have a set center of operations but they are known to frequent a handful of crack houses, and it’s likely someone there would know exactly where he’s staying.> +1 XPWhen it’s clear he doesn’t have any other useful information to divulge, you thank him for his time and head home. >>3047650>>3047686Once you’re in the apartment, you head straight for the bathroom, stare in the mirror, and begin to put your disguises to the test. First, you shift into dozens of random people you saw for a few seconds at a time on the streets, you don’t know their names, but you instinctively adopt their body languages and speech patterns to the extent their own mother couldn’t tell the difference. This effect takes serious effort to suppress, and feels strange when you do, similar to how it feels to mimic another person’s voice, language, and bodily motions in your true form. Your true form… It’s mind-boggling to think that you really have superpowers, that this isn’t some idle daydream or video game, no, you can really shapeshift, and that really is Cousin Louie staring back at you. You wonder how long it will take for the supernatural to become mundane, how long it’ll be before you take shapeshifting, light kinesis, and luck control for granted. You suppose it’s inevitable, and small part of you is almost looking forward to taking on a new routine, but the rest doesn’t want the sense of awe to ever end and as you shift into new and varied forms, you feel it never will.Eventually, you get a bit tired of taking on disguises and your mind drifts to Ennis Randal, the self-declared Bulletproof. If you can mimic ordinary people, maybe you can do the same with supers, and maybe even their superpowers! Eager to test the theory, you morph into the shape of Ennis with a wide-toothed smile, and reach into your inner force. It feels, strange, like it can sense you’re in another super’s body, but it can’t replicate the super’s powers and a large part, the last you haven’t touched, you realize, is churning in frustration. Hang on a minute, you seize hold of this piece of your presence, and direct it into the light. There’s a brief flash, identical to the ones you can conjure, but directed through a different power! The inner force’s turmoil has stopped, and when you can’t find the new power you panic for a second, before it hits you that there are two lights, and one has an off signature. You will the second light to dissolve, and surely enough, the tossing and turning presence returns. Pulse quickening in anticipation, you attempt the same with your luck, your light, and your disguise one at a time, then try them all at once, and marvel as it handles each and every one without issue. When the implications of this discovery dawn on you, your focus slips and you revert back to your true form with a grin so ecstatic some might mistake it for madness.> +3 XP> (1/2)
>>3048377You have the power to copy powers, and in concert with the rest of your powers, the possibilities for pleasure and profit can’t be counted! Come to think of it, if your identity stays a secret, you could flawlessly impersonate a super and wreak havoc on their reputation, but is that something you’re willing to do? You have the talent, it’d be a shame to leave it untapped, that said, you suppose it depends on the super. Two hours fly by while you experiment, and before you know it, it’s 11:30 PM and you’re on the verge of falling out. That’s a heavy hit to your rigid day-night schedule, but nothing one or two days of tiredness can’t fix. Then again, if you plan on quitting your job at McDonald’s, perhaps there’s no reason to maintain a clockwork sleep cycle. Either way, you’ve found a few, slightly disappointing limitations to your power copying power. You can copy your own powers but it does nothing to improve their strength, only your focus, before you can copy any powers, you have to witness a super using those powers in person, there is a one-to-three month time limit on how long you can ‘hold on’ to copied powers before you have to re-encounter the super, and you can’t ‘store’ previously copied powers, you have to be actively copying them. Aside from that, and a ludicrous upper limit on the number and strength of the powers you can copy, it is a tremendously versatile utility. You don’t bother to take a shower and fall unconscious as soon as you hit the bed. Slightly groggy, you’re almost ashamed to see you woke up at 9:30, and unless the Super Phenomenon’s caused a rift in the space-time continuum, it should be Tuesday, exactly one day from the next set of acting classes.> What’s your game plan for the day?> Charles Wolf> 6/15 XP> Traits:> Hard to notice> Superpowers:> Elemental Kinesis (Light): Tier 2> Probability Manipulation: Tier 4> Disguise Maker: Tier 14> Power Copying: Tier 15> Bank Account:> $356> Inventory: > $314 USD> Street Clothes (worn)> (2/2)
>>3048382We definitely need to try out this power-copying ability. First things first, we should try to look up any new support groups in our local area. I'd imagine it's likely that people suddenly gaining magical abilities would look for other people with magical abilities to figure out how to cope with the shock (and the potential negative consequences of their powers).
>>3048382well we need to quit our job.but first take a shower and eat something.then we go in a library and read some books inside; after that we make the last meal at donalds and quit the job, if Deshawn is there we can greet him.then we go a bit around and find a shop or a supermarket that sells a decent&cheap backpack, plus take some food.>>3048421for that we should check some websites first, they are probably not so easy to open up or find around. The ones that have open up are already with the Us military, indipendent or something else.
>>3048382Lying in bed, Chales' eyes flutter open. Thoughts drift lazily through his sleep-addled mind like clouds. Not yet willing to budge from the comfort of his bed, Charles takes the time to reflect on the things he could do today.Playing the lottery again is a safe enough bet. Swapping between identities allows him to collect a significant amount of winnings without fear of drawing attention to himself, though he is slightly concerned about what will happen when the stores and newsagents that he is fleecing notice the abnormal trend of lottery winners. On the other hand, Charles considers looking for riskier, potentially more lucrative, sources of income. Entertaining such a reckless plan is unlike him, perhaps recent events have boosted his confidence somewhat. Rubbing a fleck of dust from his eye, Charles continues his train of thought. If he was willing to take on more risk, he could extract a handsome payout by using probability manipulation and making multiple runs through a casino.Alternatively, he could continue pursuing his information gathering campaign on the AAK, or he could attempt to sell off the information he already acquired. Charles supposed that he'd need leave a note or message with the police offering to broker key information about Bulletproof in exchange for payment, as well as devise a way for them to get in contact with him without compromising his anonymity.Charles waited for a while longer, until his mind firmly settled on a course of action.

The quest is still alive, I'm just busy with thanksgiving.
Just caught up, so a few questions/ideasSince we have high power & disguise, is it possible to directly copy powers we see shown on TV?How long do we keep superpowers we've copied?Since our disguise powers are described as literally changing us, it's seemingly a pseudo shapeshift. So we should be able to in principle do some pretty interesting things ranging from small to really ambitious. For example, Could we change specific parts of us, say our hand to be somebody else & replace our fingerprints?Could we make ourselves have a perfect face, could we make ourself look deformed, could we make ourselves literally bigger for physical tasks, or literally smaller for intricate work, is there a limit to how far these could be taken? Could we become quickly change the size and shape of limbs and have pseudo elasticity powers? Could we disguise as non humans? say a cat, or an elephant or a flyIf it's NOT a physical change and is instead a light based illusion, this also has more interesting applications such as disguising other thingsFor our powers to work do we need to touch a target? Do we need to be close? Do we just have to see them? Could we invent appearances? These questions apply to both power copying & disguiseSince our probability manipulation was confirmed to only be over physical events, should we go betting on bigger physical events such as boxing or maybe a casino? We could sneak into private games disguised as big $ or celebrities
>>3061863we cant take unhuman features yet and it seems to be flehs changing and not light
