In this quest, you play as Wade Wakeman, a 15 year old boy with a heart of gold and the wielder of the Omnitrix! This story is being told in an alternate universe, in which there are no longer any remaining Tennysons.

Last time: Wade and his friends were attacked by alien bounty hunters that were following the orders of a creature known as D’Traxus. Wade’s date went south, and he decided to confide in Julie about his secret.

Most dice rolls will be 1d100. Modifiers will be added depending on the situation or on the alien being used.

Inventory: The clothes on your back, a smartphone, $100, and the Omnitrix.

Good Luck and Have Fun!
>>
Been excited for this! Also, ever since watching were I left off 8 years ago I'm about done with the galactic monster arc.
>>
Ever since you told Grandpa that you were being chased by alien bounty hunters, he's been driving non-stop. You and Olivia tried to get him to stop and rest for an hour or two, but he refused any suggestions you made. You're really worried about him. He's never acted this way in the entire time that you've known him. You've passed Pennsylvania entirely and are now headed to New York City. You'd be way more excited about visiting "The Big Apple" if you're Grandpa wasn't being paranoid as hell. He at least promised to make a stop in Manhattan once you were there. You haven't had too much time to mess with the watch since you literally haven't stopped moving in like 8 hours, but you've had a lot of time to prepare for your little excursion into the city.

What have you been doing?

>Mapping out the nearest Wintendo store to check out the latest Sumo Slammers game.

Nice! The galactic monsters arc was really fun to watch for me since I loved the forgotten villains like Viktor. What do you think of the series so far?
>>
>>3064468
I'm enjoying it. I still think that some of the redesigns are hit's and miss's, but it's real good so far. Enjoyed that Lucy became relevant again. since they never really returned to the whole sludge puppies ever since the original series.
When it comes to waifu's I feel like the human ones are at a sever disadvantage, mostly do to the fact that all the non-human ones have way better personalities, or at least interesting ones.

You've been texting Julie and keeping tabs on her current situation. It sounds like she wasn't grounded, but she's being closely monitored by her parents.

[Julie]: So what have you been up to?

[Wade]: Grandpa's been driving non-stop ever since I told him. Me and Ollie are getting pretty worried about him.

[Julie]: Oh geez. I thought you told me that he was in on your secret. Isn't he used to this whole thing by now?

[Wade]: Well we've only been doing this for like week. I think the reason he's scared this time is because they're gonna keep coming after me. That bounty's gonna stay up until I'm dead.

[Julie]: Ok, now you've got me scared. What if one of these hunters come for you when your watch is timed out, or you're asleep, or they're just too strong for you?

[Wade]: Well, all of those morbid thoughts did occur to me. But there's no point in getting scared by something that I can't stop. Unless I can track down this D'Traxus guy, I'll never be safe. And I'm pretty sure he's an alien too, so he's probably not even on this planet. How do I reach a guy like that?

[Julie]: Maybe you can hijack a UFO?

[Wade]: That doesn't sound very heroic.

[Julie]: If it ends up saving your life, I don't really give a shit.

You and her go back and forth trying to think of ways to go to space and search for this warlord guy. Eventually, you reach NYC and let Julie know that you're gonna go sightseeing with Olivia.

(Continued in Next Post)

[Phil]: Ok kids, we're here. Where you thinking of going today?

He rubs his eyes as he asks you, drawing your attention to the massive bags underneath them. He hasn't slept in at least half a day or more.

[Olivia]: We're probably gonna wander around like the filthy tourists we are.

[Wade]: Grandpa? You don't look so hot. You planning on getting some sleep?

[Phil]: No can do, kiddo. I gotta be ready in case we get attacked again.

[Olivia]: I don't think being severely sleep deprived counts as "Being ready".

[Wade]: She's right. You need to take better care of yourself. "Team Wakeman" needs to be in their best condition to take down alien bad guys.

Grandpa sits back down in his seat and scratches his head.

[Phil]: Well, alright. But don't go too far. And call me if anything happens. And be sure to watch each other's backs.

[Olivia and Wade]: Got it.

[Phil]: Remember, be back here before 9. That should give you kids enough time to explore.

Both of you run out of the RV and say your goodbyes to Grandpa. Hopefully he'll actually lay down and rest for a while.

[Olivia]: So, where do you wanna go first?

[Wade]: The arcade of course!

[Olivia]: Ooh, good choice! Let's go.

You and Olivia make our way to the local arcade. The lighting is dim and they rely on neon lighting and paint patterns that are revealed by ultraviolet lamps hovering above the arcade cabinets. It's suppose to add to the "underground" aesthetic of the place. And you're really loving it!

You and Ollie immediately flock to "Time Crisis", your favorite co-op game. Both of you have gotten really good at shooters and fighting games over the past couple of years. You manage to entertain yourselves for about 20 minutes before both of you die. The line behind you has gotten pretty long too. It's no big surprise since this is the most popular game in the any arcade. Neither of you wanted to spend too much money or time on one game, so you ask Olivia which game she wants to play next. She begins to scan the room to find the best game to end on. Her eyes widen when she spots one cabinet in particular. "Sumo Slammers 2"

[Wade]: Really? You wanna do this right now?

Her smug grin grows even bigger.

[Wade]: We both know that I'm the undefeated champ in Sumo Slammers 2. You're only gonna embarrass yourself.

[Olivia]: You think I've just been sitting on my thumbs the entire time I haven't seen you? I'm here to claim the championship title, at SUMO SLAM 2018!

After she screams, a bunch of people turn to look at the both of you. But you don't care. you've just been issued a challenge that you can't turn down.

[Wade]: You're on.

Both of you race to the cabinet and insert your tokens. The machine jumps to life after you've inserted 4 tokens. The classic opening theme makes you feel nostalgic, and you pause to appreciate it for a bit. Olivia being impatient to fight you, skips it after a few seconds and goes to character selection. You let it slide and pick your main, Ishiyama. you know it's cheesy to main the main character, but it just feels appropriate. Ollie picks her main, Kenko the shape-shifter. She decided to main the villain to counter you and make for a dramatic fight. Hopefully she won't spam again.

Well she wasn't lying about practicing while you were away. She's gotten really good with Kenko, and she's actually making you get serious for once. You take her by surprise and dish out a sick 70% damage combo that finishes the first round.

[Olivia]: What?!

[Wade]: Resets baby!

[Olivia]: Well I've still got another round to come back from this.

In the next round she starts off strong. You get tripped up by Kenko's teleportation abilities, and Olivia manages to pull off a 60% damage combo using cross-ups and resets. You make a lot of silly mistakes and hand her the second round without getting her past half health. She get really smug after and starts to gloat a bit. You grip the arcade stick a bit harder and prepare yourself for the next round. But, she makes a mistake and drops the combo before you feel the full brunt of her damage vortex. You take advantage of this by grabbing her and pushing her into the corner. She panics and tries to use meter burned wake-ups to catch you off guard, but you're far too used to her tactics to fall for that. You block and punish by putting her in an extended 80% corner combo. Ishiyama's meter-burned palm strike stuns her and allows you to finish the game 2-1.

Olivia is stunned by her loss and slams her fist on the table. She looks pretty upset.

[Wade]: Hey, you've gotten a lot better than you were before. I didn't even know you liked this game anymore.

[Olivia]: I didn't really like it until I started training to beat you. Guess I'll have to train even harder for next year!

She's back to her usual cheery self at least. You turn around to notice that you've been surrounded by a bunch of people that have been cheering you on. You were so into the game that you didn't notice all of these spectators. One of them walks up to you and forcefully shakes your hand. He's a chubby, pasty kid that probably frequents this place. He squeezes your wrist with both of his hands. What a weird way to shake somebody's hand.

[Pasty Kid]: That was awesome! You should participate in tournaments!

[Wade]: Thanks, I guess. I just play a lot at home. I'm not good enough to go to tournaments anyway.

You feel a tug on your wrist, and look down to see the kid grabbing it. He panics when he sees that you've noticed. What's he doing? Is he trying to take it from you?

[Random Bystander]: Hey! That guy stole my wallet!

A bald, muscular man with tattoos calls out to the boy in a booming voice. The kid pushes you out of the way and runs out of the arcade. The muscular man follows him shortly after.

She immediately goes for the meter burned teleportation, but you know that's exactly what she was trying to do and you do the one thing that will always counter Kenko's teleport. You duck. She's caught off guard and is caught trying to back-dash. You punish her for ever trying something as obvious as that, and it makes her rethink her strategy a bit. She manages to put you in yet another dangerous damage vortex to try to close out the round. But, she makes a mistake and drops the combo before you feel the full brunt of her damage vortex. [Olivia]: Should we do something about that?

[Olivia]: But that buff guy looks like he might really hurt him.

[Wade]: Well to be honest he has it coming, but I don't think he'll hurt him...much.

Movie Theater it is. Writing...
>>
You've spent about an hour in the arcade playing a few games, but you eventually run out of tokens and are forced to move on.

[Olivia]: What do you wanna do now?

[Wade]: I heard they're playing that new movie "Zomblast" in theaters. Wanna go see it?

[Olivia]: Sure. I heard the theaters here are really fancy. I hope the seats recline and have the little foot rests.

Both of you rush over to the local cinema a few blocks down and buy two tickets to Zomblast. The ticket handler hands you two pairs of 3D glasses along with your tickets. When you get to your seats, you can see that the theater is half empty. It's a good thing you came at such an odd time. You manage to score some sweet middle row seats. Not too close, and not too far.

[Olivia]: So, what's this movie about?

[Wade]: No idea. The trailers were really vague. Maybe it's one of those things where they don't want to spoil too much in the previews?

[Olivia]: Well I guess we'll find out when we watch it. Hope it's not too much of a waste of money.

After sitting through the previews, the lights dim and the movie starts. It's about a man that survives a deadly plane crash, virtually unharmed, and is stranded on a remote island. The first 15 minutes of the movie are about him trying to survive the harsh environment of the island and build a campsite that protects him from the elements. But it gets bizarre because he meets a man on the island that looks just like him, but he's mangled and disfigured from the crash. The man works together with his doppelganger in order to survive, and even takes care of him after they get over the initial weirdness of it all. The doppelganger has a strange amount of knowledge on the main character's life and begins to criticize him on his flaws and the mistakes he's made in his life.

[Olivia]: Psst. What's going on? Is he going crazy?

[Wade]: I dunno. I thought this was a supernatural horror movie.

[???]: Hey! Down in front. Mind keeping it down? I paid good money for this movie.

You look behind you to see a girl with red spiky hair. You can't tell from behind her 3D glasses, but she's probably annoyed.

You decide to pipe down and watch the rest of the movie. The man eventually gets fed up and tries to abandon his doppelganger. After leaving him alone, he finds a small part of the plane wreckage that contains a working radio. He excitedly runs back to the camp and presents it to his double. The mangled man warns him that it's a bad idea to call for help, but doesn't specify why. The man thinks that he's crazy and radio's for help. After several days of trying, he finally gets in contact with authorities. The mangled man warns him once again that he shouldn't go through with it. He ignores him and waits for rescue. Once they arrive, they see a single mangled man on the beach. The doppelganger has disappeared and only one remains. The man drops dead on the ground and the screen cuts to black.

What?

The credits roll.

What?!

You and Olivia just sit there for a while wondering what happened.

[Spiky girl]: God that movie fucking sucked!

Everyone turns to look at the girl from earlier and begins to laugh. Your thoughts exactly. Olivia seems to be looking something up on her phone.

[Spiky girl]: Hey sorry about before man. I would've let you talk all you want had I known how much this movie sucked. Like what was any if that? Why would they call it Zomblast? There wasn't any action! It was just some guy screaming at himself for 2 friggin hours!

[Olivia]: Apparently the director said the movie was meant to reflect the theory of Schrodinger's cat. Like how if nobody could confirm whether you were living or dead, your living self would exist alongside your dead self at the same time. But if anyone witnessed you, your fate would be sealed in that one result.

[Spiky girl]: That's pretentious as fuck! Why would he think anyone would enjoy watching something so misleading. Zomblast isn't even close to being an appropriate title.

[Wade]: Yeah I was expecting more zombies...and blasting.

[Spiky girl]: Well I for one want my money back. How about you guys?

[Wade]: Nah that's kinda rude. We're just gonna go and pretend that none of this ever happened.

[Spiky girl]: Heh, suit yourself. I for one, am not gonna have my time wasted watching an awful movie.

The girl gets up and leaves shortly afterward. You notice that the theater has cleared out and decide to follow her. You can kind of hear everyone else complaining about the movie, while some are trying to defend it by saying that they couldn't see the author's "vision". Eventually, a guy sporting the punk aesthetic walks up to the girl you were talking to.

[Punk guy]: Sup Rojo, how was the movie.

[Rojo]: An absolute pile of shit is what it was. I was just gonna go get my money back.

[Punk guy]: Chillax Rojo. Do you really think we've got the time to be hanging around like this? Mother's gonna start her gig soon.

[Rojo]: Mother's full of shit, Spud. Nothing's gonna happen. You just go tricked to go graffiti a bunch of abandoned warehouses.

[Spud]: Nah man! Mother's gonna provide for us and shelter us from the coming storm! We'll be the ones ruling over these rich snobs soon.

This guy sounds crazy...

[Olivia]: Well, it sounds like you two are having a private conversation. So we're gonna head on out...

As Olivia slowly backs away, the ground begins to shake violently. All of you fall to the floor as an extreme amount of pressure forces to the ground. Panicked screams can be heard through the intense rumbling of the earthquake and clanging of objects being thrown about.

[Spud]: It's happening!

The crazy punk guy starts smiling and laughing while he lays on the floor.

[Rojo]: Shut it, Spud!

The rumbling eventually stops, and all that you can hear are the blaring of car alarms and the terrified cries of the public.

[Wade]: What was that?

[Olivia]: We should go check it out.

Both of you start running toward the exit, carefully avoiding the glass from a fallen chandelier. You walk outside to see dust and debris scattered everywhere. Police and ambulance sirens can be heard in the distance. The city is absolutely wrecked. This is a scene straight out of a disaster movie. People are walking around looking scared and confused.

[Olivia]: What could've done this?

You're about to answer her, but you're soon interrupted by the screeching of a bunch of bizarre bat creatures in the sky. They swarm around the theater and dive towards you!

You quickly select the bird alien and slam down hard on your watch. The eyeball bats descend upon you and your cousin, but are too late to stop you from transforming. After the purple flash fades, you appear as bird with long arms and short, stubby little legs. Your legs are so short that you have to walk on your arms. What does this guy even do? He doesn't even have wings.

But you don't have time to think! The rock bat tries to ram you, but you quickly react by falling backwards and grabbing its wings with your long, dangling arms. The rock bat's eye begins to glow, like he's charging up to fire something at you. You respond by unconsciously kicking your stubby feet against it, sending the creature flying backward toward a brick wall. The bat smashes to pieces upon hitting the wall, leaving you holding his heavy broken wings.

You and Olivia just sit there with your mouths hanging open, completely at a loss for words. These legs are a lot more powerful than you thought they were! You think that you'll call this guy "Dropkick".

You quickly get over your excitement after the swarm of bats circles back around and flies toward you once more. Guess you'll have to celebrate later.

You wonder what else you can do with these legs. You crouch down low and press your feet to the ground, preparing to jump. With all your might, you jump using your arms and legs to launch yourself high into the air. The rapid change in velocity surprises you at first, making you worry that you'll injure yourself if you land the wrong way. As that thought crosses your mind, a black, bone-like material spreads from your beak and covers your head like a helmet. When you get close enough, you grab onto the wing of a rock-bat and swing on top of his back. You reel back and kick him downward, causing him to crash and propel you further upward. Using this momentum, you kick another in the face and send yourself flying to the one after that. You've got a nice rhythm going, having used your powerful legs to destroy five of them. But you have to be careful not to let them fall on anyone.

Speaking of, you see two of them harassing some injured citizens on the ground.

You don't have much time to jump over there, so you latch on to the nearest bat and pull on its wings. You wait until you have a good enough angle, and kick it towards the bats near the ground. With patience and timing, you manage to knock the bat into the two other ones that were harassing the people on the ground. They all collide violently and shatter upon hitting the ground.

[Spud]: Yes! Oh merciful Scrutin, send me to the promised land with your blessed light!

Looks like crazy punk guy made it out ok. But now he's drawing the attention of several of these "Scrutin". Their eyes glow a bright purple like they did before, and you desperately try to jump toward him. He's gonna get fried!

Right before the beams hit him, Rojo pushes him out of the way and narrowly avoids them herself.

[Rojo]: What the fuck is wrong with you dude?!

[Spud]: You've ruined it! I was so close!

[Olivia]: I think he wanted to get fried...

[Rojo]: I've never seen him like this. Spud you better not be hooked again. I swear I'll punch your lights out if you've gone back to being a junkie. That shit'll kill you man.

[Spud]: I'm not, I swear! Mother has shown me the light! She just wants to bring her home to us since she can't get back.

[Wade]: Her home?

Rojo jumps back after seeing a large bird land next to her and talk like a human. Spud doesn't react much though.

[Rojo]: Gahhh!

She instinctively punches you in the beak, but that hurts her wayyy more than it hurts you. She crouches low and rubs her hand as she groans in pain. You place your large hand over her shoulder in order to comfort her, but it only freaks her out even more. On another note, you've been standing on one hand with little to no effort. Your strength and balance is impeccable.

[Spud]: Uh-huh. She calls it "Ledgerdomain" or something.

You all look at each other in confusion, but your attention is suddenly drawn to the sky. It's turned into a dark purple, kinda like your watch! You hear a loud screeching sound and prepare for combat once more, but it turned out to be the tires of the Rust Bucket making a sharp turn around the corner. Grandpa steps out and waves you over.

[Phil]: Get in kids! All hell's broken loose!

You and Olivia waste no time getting in the RV. Grandpa makes room for your large bird body to fit through the door. You look back and see Rojo and Spud still standing in the same place.

[Wade]: Get in! You won't be able to lose them on foot!

Rojo looks confused, but decides to go with you regardless.

[Rojo]: ...Fuck it. We're getting out of here!

She helps Spud to the car and grandpa helps him to climb in. After everyone is in, he drives off at full speed. It's difficult to avoid all of the debris and wrecked cars, but grandpa seems to be managing just fine. You've got a bit of free time for the moment.

You walk over to Spud and Rojo to check on them. Rojo visibly tenses up a bit when you walk over. Guess she's still not used to you.

[Rojo]: You one of "them"?

Rojo points to one of the Scrutin flying by the RV.

[Wade]: No, I'm human.

Rojo raises and eyebrow.

[Wade]: Well, most of the time anyway. But I won't hurt you, I promise.

Rojo relaxes a little and looks at Spud for moment. he's curled up on the floor in fetal position.

[Rojo]: So what do we do now?

[Wade]: That's what I wanted to know. This guy kept talking about someone named "Mother". Do you know who that is?

[Rojo]: She's some crazy lady that took in a bunch of homeless people. She fed them, clothed them and asked them to do odd jobs around her house. But she forced them to repay her by running around the city and spray painting these weird symbols all over the place. Spud started acting weird ever since he went to live with her in that creepy old house. That's all I know.

[Spud]: You took away my only chance to leave this cruel world! How could you?

[Rojo]: This is the only world we've got, Spud. It's time for you to start living in it.

You think about telling her about the existence of aliens, but decide against it so you don't freak her out.

[Wade]: Hey, can you take us to "Mother"?

[Spud]: Never! You just want to stop her!

[Rojo]: I can take you there, but I don't know how to stop her. Only Spud would know.

[Wade]: I guess we'll have to find out when we get there, huh?

[Olivia]: Hey guys! You should come see this!

(Continued in Next Post)
>>
All of you walk over to see what Olivia's talking about(Except Grandpa of course). She turns up volume on the TV so that you can hear the news reporter speaking.

[Reporter]: This is Darcy Johnson on channel 5 news, and we're here in a news chopper getting our first look at the situation in Manhattan. We see what appears to be...a giant pair of chicken legs? Folks, it appears that the entirety of Manhattan is being lifted up by giant chicken legs sprouting out of the bottom! Are you guys getting this?!!

Everyone in the room is speechless. Even Spud seems to have snapped out of his funk because of the ridiculousness of the situation.

[Olivia]: Pfft!!! Hahahaha!

Everyone looks to Olivia in confusion as she breaks into one of her snorting laughs.

[Olivia]: Oh what?! Don't tell me that this isn't funny.Just look at them!

She continues to bust a gut laughing on the floor while the rest of you just stare at her.

[Spud]: Y'know, I didn't expect the promised land to look quite like this.

[Wade]: What did she even promise you?

[Spud]: A place by her side as the divine ruler of this realm.

[Rojo]: Those things tried to kill you earlier. Looks like you got played son.

Spud looks downcast after hearing the harsh reality of his promise.

[Spud]: ...I know how to stop her.

Everyone, including Olivia, looks at Spud in shock. He's finally willing to talk.

[Spud]: If we take her book away from her and destroy it, she loses her power. I overheard her talking about it to one of those rock dogs she keeps around.

Rock dogs? Well whatever, it's a start.

[Wade]: Can you help my Grandpa navigate to her house?

Rojo nods and starts walking to the front of the RV.

Suddenly, something explodes in a purple flash in front of the RV. Grandpa swerves out of the way just in time, but more beams of light follow after that. It's the Scrutin!

[Spud]: Oh no! She knows that I've betrayed her!

This lady is getting pretty annoying. You've gotta find a way to get these guys off of your tail. But, you've gotta remember that you're almost out of time on your watch!

What do you do?

You decide to make the most of your time by helping Grandpa and the rest get out of here as fast as we can. You open the door leading outside and begin to climb along the side of the RV. Olivia calls out to you but you can't hear her too well. You make your way to the back of the RV and firmly plant your claws into it, while carefully lowering your legs to the ground. Realizing that you have no way of communicating with Grandpa, you peck a small hole into the back of the RV and slip your beak through it.

[Wade]: Ollie, come here!

Olivia walks over to where your beak is and screams when she sees it.

[Wade]: I need you to tell Grandpa to scream out when he's making a turn and what kind of turn it is. Then tell me what he said just to be sure.

Olivia nods in confirmation.

[Wade]: Are you nodding?! You know I can't actually see you right?

[Olivia]: Yes! I said yes!

She goes and relay the information to Grandpa, then she comes back to you.

[Olivia]: He said that he's making a left turn in 5 seconds!

You get in position and prepare for the turn, anticipating the shift in weight. Once you see the tires turn, you kick off of the ground and send the RV flying in the opposite direction. And to get back on the road, you kick off of another car that you were previously flying toward. Everyone in the RV screams and complains, but this is the only way to shake these guys!

Suddenly, another burst of energy erupts in front of the RV, causing Grandpa to hit the breaks in order to avoid it. You accidentally kick your legs onto the ground and send the RV flying forward, flipping through the air. Unable to reposition yourself in time, the RV lands on its side and slides along the road. You're thrown across the street and on top of a parked car, crushing the hood and windshield. You groan in pain and slowly crawl off of the car. The beeping and yellow blinking of the Omnitrix draws your attention for a moment. You see the Scrutin gather around the crashed RV, and you become very frantic and desperate. You prepare to make one last leap to save your family, but you have no strength left in your body. You slowly close your eyes as you see a yellow flash cover your outstretched hand.

You wake up to see a dark room with creepy decor, like it's never been cleaned once in like 50 years. You look around some more to see your family and friends sleeping while having their arms and legs restrained. You try to move, and realize that you're in the same situation. You hear a sinister laugh coming from a corner in the room, and see a white-haired woman sitting in a comfortable chair, very out of place with the rest of the decor. She wears a dark purple gown and a mask that covers her eyes.

[Mother]: It's no use child. I've had my faithful servants bring you to me. They've been my eyes all over the city. Even now, they see much more than I ever could.

You look around to notice several rock creatures surrounding you, all of their eyes glowing purple.

[Mother]: And I've been watching you. You're a very interesting individual. In all of my years on this wretched rock, I've never seen anything like you.

She gets very close to your face and grabs it. She looks to your watch and her smile widens.

[Mother]: Tell me, where did you get this trinket. The "Mother of Midnight" would very much like to know.

What do you say? What do you do?

[Wade]: Did you know that your initials spell "Mom"?

Mother's smile drops in an instant. that look on her face is priceless!

[Wade]: I mean, I'm not judging what kind of image you're going for, but it's got to make things awkward right? I know that I wouldn't want to call my all powerful ruler "Mom". That'd be wayyy too embarrassing.

Mother is furious now. Purple flames rise up behind her as she grinds her teeth.

[Mother]: Silence!!

She snaps her fingers and forms a strip of tape around your mouth to shut you up.

[Mother]: I will not be mocked! Especially by a stinking primitive ape such as yourself!

[Spud]: Oh yeah? Well this stinking ape read your spell book when you weren't looking!

Looks like all the shouting and theatrics woke up everybody else. And Spud's got a plan! You hope...

[Mother]: You dare to-

[Olivia]: Yeah you tell her!

[Rojo]: Preach!

[Phil]: Attaboy!

[Spud]: You know, I used to look up to you, worship you even. But you're just like everybody else that's used me in my life. Actually, I think you may be even worse.

[Mother]: You WILL obey me!

Mothers summons her spell book and staff, making the flames around you dance in a more furious fashion.

[Spud]: Not anymore. Edzamus Te Nomatiae Thoom!!

After shouting what appeared to be absolute nonsense, all of you are freed from your restraints and dropped to the ground. You painfully rip the tape from your mouth and open up your watch. Your friends and family take a combat ready stance.

[Wade]: Nice job, Spud. But now, It's Show Time!

Which alien will you choose?

Gotta think of something fast! You notice the purple streaks of energy that shoot past you. Maybe you can charge up on those!

You dash upward and absorb all incoming energy that comes from Mother's book. It feels exhilarating! You've never felt this great in your entire life! Purple lightning jumps out of your eyes and mouth, and you're overflowing with raw power! You feel like you can do anything!

[Mother]: What?! That's impossible!

Even your friends and family back away from you, they look...scared. That's right. You can't let this power go to your head. That's how you get people like "Mom", and you never want to become someone like her. You close your eyes and unleash everything you've absorbed into a powerful beam. Mother panics and gathers every minion she has to protect herself. A bright flash blinds you all and both of you are sent flying in opposite directions. Mother flies back with so much force, that she destroys the wall behind her and now lays on the sidewalk outside.

Everyone gathers around you with worried looks on their faces.

[Rojo]: You okay, runt?

[Wade]: Th-thought you were afraid of me.

Rojo smiles in a way you thought was impossible for someone as abrasive as her.

[Rojo]: Well once I learned you were just some punk I met in the movie theater, you weren't so creepy anymore.

[Phil]: you sure did give us a scare there, champ. How about we never do that again?

[Mother]: No...longer...

Everyone turns around to see Mother picking herself up off of the ground. She struggles and groans as she holds her side.

[Mother]: No longer shall I deal with this ridicule! This insubordination!

She slowly rises into the sky and raises her arms.

[Mother]: You are like ants beneath my feet! I will crush you all beneath my heel!

The Scrutin begin to circle above her. She's trying to sick her pets on you again! And not only that, but she reaches her hand toward her book and attempts to summon it to her side.

Well it looks like she's not down for the count yet. How do you want to go about dealing with this?

Mother attempts to retrieve her book to protect the spell that she's cast. But she doesn't count on how quick you are to react. You fire a boosted energy bolt at the book, hoping that it'll be enough to destroy it. As soon as the lightning bolt hits the book, Mother begins screaming like a wild banshee! This book must be connected to her somehow. You poor some more juice into your attack and soon enough, tiny crack begin to develop in the book's binding. It soon spreads to the rest of the book, and you notice that these glowing cracks appear on Mother's skin. It looks like she's breaking to pieces from the damage being done to her spell book. After a few seconds, the book begins to shake violently shoot sparks every which way. Your friends and family take cover behind some furniture, but you just keep pouring on the juice. Both the book and Mother explode in a bright burst of purple light, forcing you to shield your eyes briefly.

Once the smoke clears, Mother's appearance has changed from that of a beautiful woman to a hideous old crone with burned eyes. But your attention is drawn away from her for a moment, because the sky is changing back to the color it was before! The Scrutin freeze in place and disappear in flash of light. You feel a strong pressure, just like you did at the theater, and it forces you and everyone else to the ground. You begin to wonder what's happening, but your sensitive ears catch wind of a radio broadcast that states that the city has been lowered back down to its original position.

[Phil]: Did we win?

Your watch begins to beep and reverts you back to your original form. You must have exerted yourself quite a bit to time out that fast.

[Wade]: I think so.

[Mother]: You think that you've won?! No, this is only the beginning.

Mother begins to pick herself up with a cane, now sounding much more like an unhealthy old woman. She starts cackling like a stereotypical witch, and it makes you feel very uncomfortable.

[Mother]: Mark my words, Wade Wakeman! I will return and destroy everything that you hold dear! And next time, that precious watch of yours won't be able to save you. A Mother never forgets-

She suddenly disappears in the middle of her sentence. Everyone looks to each other with confused faces.

[Olivia]: Uh, did she mean to do that?

[Rojo]: Who the hell cares? At least she's gone. Now we can all get on with our lives.

You begin to appreciate Rojo's blunt approach to conversation.

You all make it back to the RV and manage to call someone to get you towed to the nearest auto-shop. But Rojo and Spud stop you before you leave.

[Rojo]: Hey, I um...wanted to thank you for what you did here. If you hadn't shown up, we all would've been kissing Mom's wrinkly old feet by now.

Rojo shudders just thinking about it.

[Wade]: No problem, I'm here to help.

[Spud]: I can't believe we met such a great guy in Manhattan of all places!

[Rojo]: I know. It's almost creepy how nice he is all the time. He didn't even try to swing back when I punched him in the beak.

[Wade]: Yeah, about that...

Both of them get serious for a moment.

[Wade]: I need you guys to keep this a secret from everyone else. I've kinda got a secret identity to keep.

[Spud]: Woah, like a superhero?!

[Wade]: Exactly.

[Rojo]: You mean those guys that prance around in tights and fight other guys in tights? Laaame.

[Wade]: You've clearly never read a comic book before.

[Rojo]: You've clearly never gotten beaten up for reading a comic book before.

Rojo says this with a smirk, but the way she said it makes you wonder if she's joking or not. They help you to clean up the mess that you made when the Rust Bucket tipped over, and they exchange numbers with you. You tell them to call you if something weird ever happens again. They agree and see you off to your destination.

[Spud]: See ya, little dudes! And big dude!

[Rojo]: Maybe we'll catch you on the news or something!

They wave at you as the RV gets towed away to the nearest auto shop.

[Phil]: So much for laying low. Looks like we're gonna run into trouble no matter where we go.

[Olivia]: Then all the bad guys out there better be scared, because Team Wakeman is on the job!

Both of you can't help but smile at Olivia's eccentric mannerisms. Hopefully, the bad guys give you a break for a while. All this constant action is wearing you out.

----------

You go to lay down and relax for a little while, but Olivia soon comes to bother you again after about an hour.

[Wade]: What's up?

[Olivia]: Guess what I got?

[Wade]: A good reason for waking me up? That'd be nice.

[Olivia]: No silly! I've got...a souvenir!

Olivia whips out a medal with strange markings on it.

[Wade]: I dunno, but let's hold onto it for now. It looks like kinda mystical, so don't put it on yet. We don't know if this thing could affect us the way it did Mother.

[Olivia]: Hmm, I guess you're right. I was kinda hoping you'd let me keep it, since I know Grandpa doesn't trust stuff like this. Being a hero has always been my dream, and it's been great watching you do all this cool stuff with that watch. What if this is my chance to be a hero? This could be my origin!

[Wade]: What if it isn't that convenient? What if it makes you crazy like Mother? What if you become a monster?

Olivia starts to look like she's doubting herself. She looks kind of upset. Maybe she really wanted you to believe that everything would turn out ok. But you can't afford to be that naive. Not when someone you love is at risk.

[Wade]: Just promise me that you won't put it on until we find out more about it, ok?

[Olivia]: ...Ok.

You hug her in order to get her to calm down a bit. But you also have to make time to help her figure out what that thing does and where it comes from.

You tell Olivia that you're going to practice with your aliens. She looks really excited for a moment, but then rethinks whatever she was about to say. She says that she's going to do a little research on the medal for a while. Man, she's really serious about this. You wish her luck and leave the hotel room that Grandpa got for you.

You find an empty lot that you can use to practice with your aliens. After cycling through them, you realize that you've never used this dinosaur guy before. Well, here goes nothing!

You make your selection and slap down hard on your watch, but something weird happens. It shocks you and briefly flashes a brighter shade of purple. Spark run along the exterior of the watch for a few seconds, then it just stops. What was that about?

You go back to select the dinosaur again, and are successful in using your watch his time. A purple flash envelops your body and you feel yourself shrinking down a bit. You're at least 3 feet tall now. You inspect yourself in the reflection of a nearby hubcap, trying to figure out what kind of weird tricks you can do. Your nose is very shiny and tough, but the texture is almost never consistent. Sometimes it jiggles like jello when you poke it, other times it remains firm and solid as steel. But after you scratch at it for a bit, you sneeze onto the hubcap. The purple material that covered your nose now has a slimy and sticky texture. The hubcap dangles near the ground and swings whenever you move your head. You try to pull it off, but it's surprisingly difficult! Once you calm down and focus a bit, you command the green material to return to its previous shape. You almost hit yourself in the face trying to pry it off. But this gives you an idea.

You line up a few cans and try to replicate the sneezing action you did before. Each and every sneeze creates a deadly snot rocket that glues the cans to the wall behind them. On the last sneeze though, the snot rocket solidifies mid flight and clobbers the can in front of it. This guy is pretty neat!

You mess around a bit more with the shape of your nose too. You create drills, hammers and even a spatula! You even make little snot bubbles that seem to be fairly durable, yet springy. It looks like you can manipulate the gel-like material on your nose and its consistency.

You think you'll call this guy "Snotnose" or 'Snotrocket". You'll decide later...

You remember that you haven't experimented much with your watch's functions. But you really don't feel like waiting to time out. You start touching the Omnitrix symbol which is conveniently still on your wrist this time. After messing with it for a minute, you slap your watch the way you normally would to transform. Suddenly, a bright yellow flash reverts you back to your human form! What was that?! Did you just force yourself to time out? What a stupid function. Guess you should head back to the hotel.

(Continued in Next Post)
>>
You start walking back to the hotel, and a minute or two later your watch clicks to life again! That was the fastest the watch has ever recharged! Was this because you reverted earlier than you should have? It looks like the sooner you cancel a transformation, the sooner you can recharge. This is gonna be a serious game changer! You're really getting the hang of this.

Meanwhile...

Mother sits in a prison cell, surrounded by strange vermin and under constant surveillance by giant stone guardians. The sky is dark purple, and the land is barren and vast, but mostly empty. A giant turtle-like creature approaches her jail cell, signaling the guards to stand aside. His arms are long and thick, and his head is covered in a wild purple flame.

[Adwaita]: You should have remained in hiding, witch. Now that I have found you, you will tell me where the remaining Keystones of Bezel are located.

Mother simply remains silent, smiling at an hourglass that she's tied to her arm. The sands fall slowly, grain by grain, and glow a faint pink color. Adwaita grows angry and impatient, turning away and leaving the way he came.

[Adwaita]: No matter. I have ways of breaking you. I will find the Keystones, and the girl that you have hidden on Earth. I'm sure that she will make a fine servant.

When Adwaita says this, Mother quickly jumps up and grabs the bars of her cell. She shakes them violently and screams incoherently.

[Mother]: It's only a matter of time, Adwaita! I will outlive these bars that hold me, these guards, and eventually you!

Adwaita smirks and continues to walk away. The environment of Ledgerdomain is very similar to the nightmarish New York that appeared and disappeared in the same day. Mother's screams echo through the vast unknown.

[Mother]: ONLY A MATTER OF TIME!

I'm enjoying it. favorite alien for so far would either be Zipmunk or Knuckle Duster. Not feeling Rad-El Snake so far but that's probably because we have't found a good situation for him yet. Also, for future clarification maybe include the fact crits will be in play whenever dice come up in the future to prevent any confusion like before.

I've made some more OC's to unlock, and you will gain access to aliens from previous seasons eventually.
>>
(And we're back!)

Posting the new pastebin links that I'll be posting at the beginning of my new threads from now on. I'll also be implementing a new skill system, where Wade can learn skills from his friends and family that will increase his stats and give him an advantage for rolls. I'd post the image for the chart I made, but it currently looks like ass so I'll hold off on that for now. Have an icon instead!

When you get back to the hotel, you walk in on Olivia standing suspiciously in the corner of the room. She appears to be holding something behind her back while wearing a stiff smile. Your eyes drift over to the table she was sitting at, and you spot her arts and crafts tools. She was making something.

Looks like she won't stop trying to obviously hide what she was making. But, you know her well enough to know that she's easily excited and distracted. A very volatile combination.

[Wade]: Hey Ollie! I unlocked a new feature on my watch. It looks like I can transfer the user to another person, but I've gotta do a full body scan with the watch. Wanna give it a spin?

[Olivia]: What?! Really?! Scan away, cuz!

She raises both of her arms, and you see a cat-like mask in one of her hands. She quickly goes to hide it again once she realizes that you've seen it, she blushes and quickly goes back to hiding it.

[Wade]: You promised...

[Olivia]: I'm sorry...but I couldn't help but get excited. I didn't put it on or anything! I'm just making this in case something happens. You're not mad are you?

[Wade]: Nah, not really. You technically kept your promise after all.

Olivia smiles warmly and gives you a big hug. At that very moment, Grandpa walks in holding a flier.

[Phil]: Good, you're both here. I found this after going to get some groceries at the local market.

He hands you the flier and Olivia tries to read it from over your shoulder. It's an ad for a family picnic event. There's going to be games, free food, and a grand prize for the family that comes in first place in most of the events.

[Olivia]: Uhhh...

[Phil]: I know, right! This is perfect for us. With all this alien nonsense going on, we haven't had any time to bond as a family.

[Olivia]: I dunno. I felt pretty close to you after you blasted that red robot in the eyeball.

[Phil]: You know that's not what I mean. I really think this would be good for us y'know?

[Wade]: I'm in. Sounds cool.

Phil gets a big goofy grin on his face that betrays his grizzled features.

[Phil]: One down...

Both of you look at Olivia and wait for her answer.

[Olivia]: Eh, why not. It can't be that boring right?

[Wade]: Hey, a prize is always welcome. I wonder what we're gonna get when we win.

[Phil]: That's the spirit, champ!

All of you leave the hotel and get ready to load up the RV, only to remember that the RV is still getting repaired. Fortunately, you all brought your bikes you, and they were miraculously unharmed in the crash. The ride to the park takes about 15 minutes, and it looks like you've arrived just in time to register for the activities. Grandpa soon leaves to sign up for the picnic, so you start walking around with Ollie. There has to be at least 20 families here, and they're all gonna lose to the Wakemans!

As you think this, some kid bumps into you. He's wearing a sideways baseball cap, and a track jacket with jeans. He doesn't even acknowledge that he's rudely bumped into you either. He just keep walking and playing his video game. You think about speaking to him about his rudeness, but Olivia beats you to the punch.

[Olivia]: Hey! Watch where you're going!

He keeps walking without so much as glancing over his shoulder. Olivia gets upset at this and goes to grab his shoulder. She forcefully turns him around and his eyes go wide.

[Rude kid]: Ugh, what do you want?

The rude kid blows a bubble with his gum and loudly pops it.

[Olivia]: An apology for starters?

[Rude kid]: Why doesn't your boyfriend over there watch where he's going instead? He looks pretty clueless about city life.

[Olivia]: What?!!

Olivia looks absolutely furious on your behalf.

What do you do?

You start to get frustrated yourself and walk in front of Olivia to defend her. No one talks to your cousin like that!

[Wade]: Don't talk to her like that, you punk.

The rude ginger boy just narrows his eyes at you, reaches into his pocket and pulls out a whistle.

[Rude boy]: Don't make me use this...

You can't help but make fun of him for how stupid he sounds right now.

[Olivia]: Is...is that a rape whistle?

[Rude boy]: That's it!

The boy blows hard on the whistle and you flinch a bit from the sharp sound. You look around to see if anyone's actually coming to his aid, but everyone just gives you a confused look. You look back at him with a smug look on your face.

[Wade]: So what now, coach? Want me to run laps around the park?

The rude boy continues to smile and points upward. As he does that, you hear a rustling in the trees above you. Something much bigger than a squirrel suddenly drops down on you!

You try to back up, but end up tripping because of how surprised you are. You trip backwards just in time to avoid being flattened by a teenage girl. She lands right in front of you on all fours, as if she were some sort of animal. You quickly crawl backwards away from this crazy chick.

She's wearing a blue tank top and shorts. But her most notable feature is her creepy smile. It kinda reminds you of the one Ollie gave you as a joke.

[Weird girl]: Hey there! You weren't bothering my dear brother Norman were you?

[Norman]: Shut it, Casey. I just wanted you to scare off these losers for me.

[Olivia]: I'd say the real loser is the one who needs his big sister to scare away his bullies.

[Casey]: So you're bullies, huh? Let me show you what happens to people that bully Norman.

Her creepy smile grows wider and she gets into some sort of combat pose. You and Olivia brace yourselves for whatever she's about to do, only for to be stopped by your Grandpa showing up.

[Phil]: Kids? What's going on?

[Wade]: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

The other guys stand down when a man and woman walk up to them, and place their hands on their shoulders. Must be their parents. The dad sort of looks like a geekier Reed Richards, and the mom has tan skin and platinum blonde hair.

[Gary]: Hey kids! I see you made some friends.

The kids you were about to fight with are now pretending that nothing ever happened.

[Clarissa]: Oh that's so wonderful! My name's Clarissa and this is Gary.

[Gary]: We're the Morrison's.

Both you and Olivia just stand there and stare at them for a bit.

[Phil]: C'mon kids, don't be rude. Sorry about that. We're the Wakeman's.

[Gary]: Oh, I saw your name on the board earlier. It's always good to have new contenders each year. It's a nice change of pace.

[Norman]: Who cares. We're just gonna win like we do every year. Everyone here always sucks.

[Clarissa]: Now now, Norman. That's no way to talk about all these nice people.

[Casey]: But mom, being nice doesn't win you anything.

Phil now shares the same look that you do. These guys are really full of it.

[Gary]: Oh lighten up, Clarissa. She was raised to be competitive after all. The Morrison's have won every year for 6 years straight.

Gary extends a hand to Phil.

[Gary]: But who's counting, am I right? Let's get out there and have some fun!

Phil doesn't look amused in the slightest. he still firmly grabs and shakes Gary's hand. but he tightens his grip so much that the smug look on his face disappears almost instantly.

He then lets go and walks away.

[Phil]: C'mon kids. We've got a competition to win.

Gary starts smiling once more and shouts out to you and your family.

[Gary]: May the best family win!

You, Ollie and Phil gather together and have a team huddle. While doing so, you tell Grandpa everything that happened.

[Phil]: So we're all in agreement that we don't like these guys, right?

[Wade and Olivia]: Right!

The first event is the egg toss. You Grandpa, and Olivia get a good rhythm going, but you don't want to risk it by going too fast. you end up coming in third place, with the Morrison's in first. But you're way ahead of the other families at least.

The second event is bobbing for apples. You and Phil take turns bobbing for apples one after another. You use the brief breaks to get some air and spot your next target. Any apples that you catch are thrown to Olivia, who's been catching each and every one without missing a beat! She doesn't even spend any time walking over to the collection bucket. She manages to throw all of them into the bucket without moving from her original position. You're now neck and neck with the Morrison's score.

the third event is a sack race. It's a bit hard to fit all of you into one sack, but it's even harder for all 4 of the Morrison's to fit into one sack. All of you sync up pretty well in the beginning and focus to keep up that rhythm. Most families have fallen at least 2 or 3 times, but your family hasn't fallen a single time! Even someone as big and old as Grandpa Phil managed to time his jumps with yours and Olivia's. You blow out the rest of the competition by winning first place in the sack race! And with that, the Wakeman's take first, the Chang's are in second, and the Morrison's barely made it to third place. You, Phil and Olivia begin celebrating, knowing that you've aced the first half of the competition. You thought this would be much harder, but you guys are actually doing pretty well. But the Morrison's seem to be having a bit of a meltdown.

[Norman]: You screwed us up, Mom! We would've won if it weren't for you!

[Clarissa]: now Norman, you know I'm not good as good at this than the rest of you are.

[Casey]: Lighten up bro. We're still in third. We've still got a few more games left.

[Norman]: No! She's holding us back! We should kick her from the team!

[Gary]: Normie! She's family. You don't kick family.

[Norman]: You do when they're a big fat loser.

Everyone gasps after hearing him say this. Norman runs off into the woods in frustration. His sister gives chase soon after.

[Wade]: Yikes...

[Olivia]: My words exactly. Let's agree to never become that dysfunctional.

[Wade and Phil]: Agreed.

[Wade]: So what do we do now that we've got a break. I think the intermission is gonna last about an hour or so? Wanna go get some food?

You point to the large table they have set for everyone to collect food from.

[Phil]: Sure. But not at this dump. I found a great restaurant that makes a killer Squid-ink Linguini! How about it?

[Olivia]: Are you kidding me? That's the most normal thing you've tried to feed me all summer!

You and the rest of your family get your bikes and ride toward the restaurant you talked about. You're just excited to be having such a good time with them to be honest.

After getting to the restaurant, you've been asked to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Considering it took you about 10 minutes to reach this pace, you should just barely have enough time to eat and ride back. The three of you decide to go shopping to pass the time. You lead Grandpa to a clothing store, where he decides to a buy yet another tacky Hawaiian shirt to add to his wardrobe. You don't really complain because they make him happy. Olivia even helps you pick out some clothes that make you look nice. She's always been knowledgeable about stuff like that. You all exit the store with a hefty haul in tow, very pleased with your choices.

Suddenly, you feel something yank you up by your jacket and lift you off the ground! You look up to see a masked man riding a hover-board. You start to squirm and wiggle, but after looking down and seeing how high up you are, you decide against it.

[Masked man]: You think you're so cool, don't you?!!

[Wade]: What?! I don't even know you!

This guy's nuts!

[Masked Man]: We'll see how cool you are as a stain on the side of the road!

He drops you and watches you as you fall. You've gotta do something!

You fire a snot rocket at the masked man, and it connects to his chest. You dangle precariously 200 feet off of the ground, trying to carefully pull yourself up.

[Wade]: Dude, you attacked me on my day off. Not cool!

[Masked man]: What? What are you? Get off me you freak!

[Wade]: Sorry, I don't think know if this stuff comes off in the wash. Maybe if you let me down I can pick up your dry cleaning bill for you?

The masked man tries very hard to shake you off by flying in loops and making sharp turns. against buildings. You manage to hang on pretty well, despite having little to no control over where you're going. He decides to descend quickly and fly close to the ground. You snort with all of your might and clear the truck before it splatters you on the windshield. You manage to snort with such force that you're flung toward the Masked man and onto his back. He tries to throw you off, but you sneeze onto his mask and blind him. He panics and ends up flying straight into a sign, throwing the both of you onto the concrete sidewalk. It didn't hurt too bad since your skin is pretty thick, but that guy is probably a lot more hurt. You walk toward him, but a blade comes soaring through the air, landing by your feet. You look up to see where it came from, only to see a girl in a raggedy cheerleader outfit and a domino mask. She also has some weird looking pom-poms.

She made a serious mistake jumping from such a high place. Before she even hits the ground, you fire a snot rocket at her, gluing her to the tree. She struggles for while and starts spouting obscenities.

[Cheerleader]: Die! Die! Die! Dinosaur should die in a ditch!

You get tired of hearing her babble, and decide to glue her mouth shut for the time being.

[Wade]: Any other bad guys I should be worried about?

You hear a loud thumping noise in the distance. The ground shakes with the shear weight of whatever's coming toward you. You can hear screams in the distance, and your gelatin like nose starts to jiggle with each step. A large, buff woman walks up to you, carrying a slender man with a strange helmet on her shoulder. The woman is wearing some sort of skin-tight bear suit, that's nearly torn to pieces by her rippling muscles.

[Strange man]: Greetings, strange creature. I see that you've met my family. The boy lying on the floor is Slipstream, the girl you've trapped is Fear-Leader, the woman that is assisting me is Mama Bear, and I am Headcase. Together, we are "THE CRIME SYNDICATE!!"

[Wade]: Ok.

[Wade]: I mean, I never asked. The only thing I want to know is why you're targeting me. I never did anything to you or your family.

Headcase begins to smile deviously. Oh no! He's gonna do it again!

[Headcase]: As you can see, me and my family have unique gifts. We have always felt like our lives were unfulfilled, constantly having to hide what made us unique in order to conform to society's standards. That is until we started using our gifts to benefit ourselves. We began to live like kings! No one will ever be allowed to deface my family or deny them of what they want, ever again! By committing crimes, me and my family have grown closer than ever before. Now the world will be forced to acknowledge our power. Even you, tiny creature! The Wakeman's must perish for their insolence!

Ughhhh! He just keeps going! This was a mistake. But fortunately, he prattles on long enough for you to notice that Grandpa and Olivia caught up with you. They hide behind nearby car and wait for a good time to jump in.

[Wade]: OK! Ok! I'm sorry I asked alright? But thanks for the monologue though. Now I can label you losers when I throw you in the slammer.

Headcase reaches for his helmet and presses a button, but that's all he gets to do. Your snot rocket snags his face before he gets a chance to do anything, and drags him on top of his son. It ain't a pretty sight, but you've gotta deal with it. Maybe he'll get more jail time for it. You gel him and his son to the ground so they can't move. You wonder what he was trying to do, but it's not terribly important.

Mama Bear shouts in anger and goes to pick up her son and husband. She reaches down and rips up the entire part out of the sidewalk and holds it over her head.

[Headcase]: Good, Mama Bear! Now hurry up and free us!

She isn't paying attention to him at all. Instead she gets into a position to throw the concrete block at you.

[Headcase]: What? No you oaf! You'll doom us all!

[Slipstream]: M-mom?

Amongst the screaming of Headcase, Mama Bear actually stops to check on her son after realizing that he's conscious again. You weren't actually expecting this monster to have any type of motherly instinct, but maybe she isn't as crazy as the rest of these guys.

Suddenly, Grandpa fires a shot from his rifle at the cement block, destroying it and getting the gel all over Mama Bear's hands. Her two family members get stuck to her hands and chest, making her unable to attack. You go to deal the finishing blow, but a steel baton flies through the air, ricochets off a tree and metal rail, and slams against Mama Bear's head. The sudden blow knocks her over, allowing you to stick her and her family to the ground.

You look over to see where the baton came from, only to see Olivia wearing her charm on her wrist.

You don't bother going back to the family event, not after everything that's happened. But you hear that the Chang's won by a landslide after two of the competing families failed to show up in the second half. The police arrived shortly afterward to arrest the Crime Syndicate, but you'll just call them the Morrison's for now. It wasn't hard to figure out really. the timing was way too perfect for it to be a coincidence. You just hope that the justice system can nail these guys to the wall for the damage they've caused.

You walk over to Olivia, but she averts her eyes from yours and looks to the ground.

[Wade]: Ollie, I-

[Olivia]: I know what you're gonna say. I shouldn't have put on the dangerous artifact. I know I shouldn't have! But I just didn't know what to do when he snatched you up like that.

[Wade]: Well I-

[Olivia]: And don't go pinning this on me. We said that we'd fight as a team from now on. What's with the solo act?

[Wade]: Listen I-

[Olivia]: All in all, I'm not sorry that I tried to help you.

She waits for you to yell at her or get mad, but you have no intention of scolding her. You instead give her a hug, which surprises her more than anything.

[Wade]: I'm not mad.

[Olivia]: You're not? Wait, why not?!

[Wade]: If I were in your shoes, I probably would've done the same thing. I won't keep side-lining you, but I need you to be careful alright? These guys may seem like pushovers, but they can easily kill anyone that doesn't have one of these.

You point to the watch, making her realize the responsibility that you carry.

[Wade]: If I screw up, people get hurt or worse. I can't afford to do that. And I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to you guys.

You begin to trail off a bit, but Olivia puts a hand on your shoulder.

[Olivia]: We're team Wakeman, remember? When we work together, there's nothing we can't do.

You can't help but smile at her genuine optimism. she truly believes that you guys can do anything. And you're starting to believe her too.

[Wade]: Hey Ollie.

[Olivia]: Yeah?

[Wade]: Thanks.

[Olivia]: No prob. Hey, I snagged something I thought you'd like.

She presents Slipstream's hover-board to you! And it's fully-intact

[Wade]: Whoa, how'd you get this?!

[Olivia]: It was just lying by the side of the road somewhere. And there's barely a scratch on it too. Pretty lucky, huh?

[Wade]: Yeah, pretty lucky.

You admire the board in all of its glory. You also wonder where Grandpa ran off to during all of this confusion.

Meanwhile...

Phil slinks off into a nearby ally and pulls out a device with a purple Omnitrix symbol on it. He faces it upward and presses the center, causing a message to be play. A purple alien with thorns protruding from the side of his head begins to address Phil. He wears a clean white space-suit.

[Purple Alien]: Phil Billings. Ex-Rooter, Deactivated Plumber and current caretaker of "Subject 10". You have been reactivated and assigned an important mission. You will accept.

Phil frowns after hearing how forceful he's being.

[Phil]: You know Koba, I go by "Wakeman" now.

[Koba]: Frankly Phil, I don't care. You will be addressed by the name we have you filed under to avoid any confusion.

Phil rolls his eyes and uses his fingers to pretend to squish the head of the projected hologram.

[Koba]: Hh. I'll cut to the chase then. I want you to head to these coordinates and investigate an underground bunker that we suspect is involved with illegal genetics research. There are rumors of a "Subject 11" that is being held there.

[Phil]: God, not again. I thought we were done with these post-war shenanigans.

[Koba]: Apparently not. There have also been rumors of aliens being smuggled in and out of your sector. Be sure to check it out.

[Phil]: Yeah yeah, more of the usual.

Phil sifts through the data and downloads it to his Plumber's badge.

[Phil]: So, you want me to detain this "Subject 11"?

[Koba]: Detain? Billings, I want you to kill it.

Phil's face drops upon hearing this. But he soon remembered that this wasn't anything new for him. Not for a Rooter.

Thanks for playing!
I intend to run for the next 2 days at the same time, 4pm(EST).
Let me know your thoughts like always. I love feedback!

It was a pretty good session.
Not sure how I feel about the stat system but I'll just have to wait to see how that plays out/get's integrated. I assume they supply bonuses or you nudge us to certain directions with arrows.
And I love the paste bins, helps out alot,
>>
>>3076338

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. The stat system is mostly there to augment the abilities of Wade when he's just a regular human. Like how Ben became pretty good at fighting even when he wasn't transformed. Stats are used to lower DC and create new possibilities with your options.

The skills however will help Wade to get better at specific things while advancing stats. Skills can be learned from certain individuals with more experience than you in a certain field, and some skills are unique to them. Like Phil's "Marksmanship" and Olivia's "Gymnastics". There will be times when not much is going on, and I will allow players to decide whether or not they wish to advance a skill or not. When trained enough, these skills can provide bonuses when you do something that involves the skill.

And I'll try to update the paste bins regularly for each thread.

(And we're back!)

Eventually, Grandpa comes back and tells you that the repairs on the RV have been finished.

[Wade]: Well that was fast. It's only been like 2 days.

[Olivia]: Yeah that guy must be some sort of mechanical guru.

[Phil]: Well, I've come to know some reliable people over the years. And Darrel's one of 'em.

[Olivia]: Where'd you go anyway? We couldn't find you for a while after the cops came.

[Phil]: I uh, needed to hide my boom-stick before the feds came. Can't let them see me carrying a weapon like that in the city.

[Olivia]: I guess you're right. Your weapon isn't as well camouflaged as Wade's after all.

[Phil]: Right. You kids ready to go pick up the RV?

Grandpa gets on his bike and gets ready to depart. You look at your new hover board and consider riding it to the auto shop.

You consider riding the hover board, but it isn't a good idea at the moment. Your watch is timed out, so you won't be able to save yourself if you fall. And not to mention that you'd have to fly pretty high to avoid being spotted by the general public. You decide to just ride your bike with the rest of your family for now.

The ride to the auto shop takes about half an hour, and gallon of sweat between all of you. You legs feel so tight that you can barely stand up straight. Grandpa and Olivia seem to be doing just fine though. They're both probably used to this kind of exercise. Grandpa goes to chat with his buddy Darrel, while you and Olivia go to inspect the Rust Bucket. She looks better than new! This Darrel guy is pretty legit. Grandpa soon joins you in inspecting the RV, and gives an approving nod. He goes back to Darrel and slips him a tiny light blue crystal that he fished out of his pocket. Is he paying this guy in diamonds?!

[Phil]: Ok kids, you ready?

You both nod and load your bikes into the RV. After dropping by the hotel room to collect your stuff and check out, you hit the road again. Destination: Virginia.

What would you like to do? (Pick 2)

>Chat with Grandpa

You decide to ride up front with Grandpa for a while. He smiles after seeing you willingly come up front to spend some time with him. But he seems pretty distracted right now. Like he's a million miles away from you. You think of somehow finding a way to spark up a conversation with him and break this silence, but you get a much better idea. You fish out his favorite CD from his favorite classic-rock band "Shag Carpeting". As soon as you pop the disk in, his face softens up and he starts to smile.

[Phil]: YOU'RE playing Shag Carpeting? Now way. You used to hate these guys.

[Wade]: Well, they've kinda been growing on me over the years. They actually aren't half bad.

[Phil]: Hah! I know what you mean. I used to hate them too. I only got into them because an old buddy of mine would play this CD every chance he got. It drove me nuts.

[Wade]: Does he still like them?

[Phil]: Nah, he does. He's just...not around anymore.

The grim look your Grandpa had before is starting to return.

[Wade]: Were you thinking about him earlier?

[Phil]: I think about him every day, kiddo. He's the reason I settled down and decided to have a family. If it weren't for him, I don't know where I'd be right now.

[Wade]: Well maybe we can visit his grave someday. I'd like to thank him too. After all, he gave me an awesome Grandpa and an amazing cousin.

Phil smiles at you warmly and reaches over to tussle your hair a bit. He then takes his hand off the wheel, turns up the radio and starts playing the air guitar in tune with the song. You do the same and have a sick jam session together. The blaring of a truck horn brings you back to reality and causes you to reach over and turn the wheel for Grandpa. Both of you breathe heavily and have your eyes wide open after having a near death experience. You then look to each other and break out into laughter. Looks like you've really improved your Grandpa's mood today!

(Continued in Next Post)

After stopping at a nearby rest stop, you step out and tell your family that you'll be messing with your aliens. Olivia tries to go with you, but her bladder says otherwise. She runs to bathroom, while you run to vacant lot.

You open up your watch and try to decide between the two remaining unknown aliens. Between the shark and the spiky guy, the spiky guy seems to be the safer option at the moment. You're not sure if the shark can breathe on land or not. You make your selection and slam down hard on the watch, anticipating the big stretch. From the way it feels, this guy has got to be a foot or two taller than the average human male.

You open your eyes and are surprised by how sensitive they are! You avert your eyes from the sun, but your goggles seem to be adjusting to bright sunlight pretty quickly. You try to walk, but almost trip from how stubby and pointy your legs are. They're bony, thin and sharp like blades. You look over to your wings and try to flap them a few times to get a feel for them. This causes you to realize that everything about you and your environments are overwhelming.

You can feel your blood pumping through your veins. Actually you can see it too! You look around and see that you can see the blood flow of the creatures around you, and sense the tiniest details with ease. You sense of smell, hearing and sight have been drastically heightened. This alien might be a predator of some sort.

You flap your wings and take flight to test out your abilities. The first thing that you learn about this alien is that he's got to be one of your fastest! You feel like you're moving faster than a fighter jet! You should be passing out from the pressure and lack of oxygen, but your blood manipulation allows you to adjust on the fly and control your heart rate to make better judgments.

You try moving the blood in your body to different places, and you get some pretty interesting results. Your spikes begin to protrude and become sharper than before. You can send them out pretty far. You do the same to your wings, making them stretch mush farther, and increasing their shape, durability and sharpness. You test this out by swiping at a can 20 ft away from you, swinging your wing like a cape, and cutting clean through it like butter! Some of your blood even starts to seep through your skin to create a sort of armor to protect you. You think that you'll name this guy "Bloodrush". After a few minutes, your watch times out and you head back to the RV. You'll experiment with this guy some more later.

(Posting from my phone)
You make your way back the RV and browse social media on your phone for the rest of the trip. You eventually make your way to Virginia, but you and Olivia are starting to get worried. Grandpa's gone back to being quiet, and it makes you feel uneasy. You notice that he's gotten off the highway and merged onto a dirt road in the middle of nowhere.

You go to talk with Grandpa and determine your destination. He continues to look straight with a strange look in his eye while you talk to him.

[Wade]: Hey uh, Grandpa? Where are we going?

[Phil]: Just going to take care of some business, kiddo. Don't worry about it.

He suddenly pulls off of the road and turns off all of the RV's lights. He then reaches underneath the dashboard and flicks a switch.

Olivia starts to panic in the back after having all the lights shut off on her. You look back to Grandpa and see him grab some supplies from a bag he'd hidden in a secret compartment. He then unpacks a black suit from the bag and quickly puts it on. He wastes no time and gathers all of his gear and equips it in under a minute. He's almost out the door as he slings his rifle over his shoulder.

He hasn't said a single word to either of you during all of this.

[Phil]: Stay in the car kids.

Well now he has. What do you do?

You chase after him and grab his shoulder.

[Wade]: Wait up! What's going on.

The way your Grandpa looks at you gives you a chill that runs down your spine. Like you're a nuisance.

[Phil]: Nothing you should be worrying about. Just go wait with your cousin.

[Wade]: Grandpa. Please don't keep me in the dark about this.

He stops walking for a moment.

[Wade]: I could have kept the Omnitrix a secret, but I didn't. Can't you extend the same amount of trust to us?

Olivia walks out of the RV and stands behind you.

Phil finally turns around and rubs his forehead.

[Phil]: Dammit Wade!

Both you and Olivia take a step back, never having heard him scream like that before.

[Phil]: Since when did you get so mature?

His face softens up and it seems like he's back to being his jolly old self again. You and Olivia can't help but smile at your Grandpa after he starts to tear up a bit.

[Phil]: I never wanted to involve you in all this, but it looks like I don't got a choice now, huh?

[Olivia]: Nope!

[Phil]: Ok. The truth is, I'm a Plumber.

You and Oliva look at each other.

[Wade]: Uh, Grandpa... We kinda already knew that.

[Phil]: No, you don't. A plumber is an intergalactic police officer that works to keep the peace in certain sectors. I'm Retired now, but I used to be one of the best. Me and my partner, Max Tennyson, were unstoppable back in the day. That is...until he died a few years back.

You remember that name. The watch called you that when you first put it on.

[Wade]: Wait, wasn't that the guy that the watch mentioned earlier? It confused me for him.

[Phil]: Yeah, it is. I thought my heart would jump out of my throat when you mentioned his name. I was hoping that I'd never have to have this conversation with you.

[Wade]: Grandpa? What's going on?

[Phil]: Wade...you're a mutant.

Both you and Olivia are speechless.

[Wade]: A what?...

Your stomach drops.

[Olivia]: Like he can shoot lasers from his eyes or pop out metal claws?

[Phil]: No. He was genetically engineered. After Max died, the Galactic Council was devastated. They'd lost their precious Magister, and a great Plumber. No, a great man.

[Wade]: So, I was made in a test tube?

[Phil]: Kind of. I'm not sure about the whole process they used, but you were developed by artificial means.

[Wade]: What did they want with me?

[Phil]: They manipulated your DNA structure to create a near perfect genetic clone of Max. For all intents and purposes, you're related to him. I think they wanted to recreate the man who was supposed to save the galaxy from any threat that would tear its ugly head.

[Wade]: B-but why wouldn't Mom and Dad tell me about this?!

It feels like your entire world has been turned on its ass. There's been a lump in your throat ever since he told you about what you were.

[Phil]: I told them not to. I told them to raise and treat you as if you were their own son. I guess they were pretty convincing.

[Wade]: Why didn't you tell me earlier? I'm pretty sure I could have taken being adopted well. Plus I'm still kind of processing this revelation.

You try to make a sly grin, but it doesn't quite feel right. Something's off.

Phil humors you and returns a smile right back at you.

[Phil]: I didn't want you to feel different or pressured. What Grandpa wants to tell his kid that he was made in a lab to save the universe? You deserved a childhood. I'm sorry that I couldn't protect it.

Phil looks down at the ground, his face full of regret.

[Wade]: You said you were one of the best. Why'd you quit being a Plumber?

[Phil]: Because of you.

You give your Grandpa a puzzled look.

[Phil]: You were, and still are, my final mission. Once I caught wind of "Subject 10", I raced over to that lab and shut it down faster than a Kineceleran traffic jam. I knew the UGC would kill to get their hands on you and turn you into a soldier, so I took you. I took you and ran as fast as I could. I only told a select few people about the fact that I'm raising you. I had to change my name and drop off the grid for a while.

Your face drops a bit after hearing what your Grandpa did to get you back. It must've been tough.

[Phil]: And I wouldn't change a damn thing. You are and always will be my Grandson. And nobody can change that or take that away. You're a Wakeman.

That lump in your throat feels heavier all of a sudden, and your eyes begin to water. It takes all you've got to stop yourself from crying. You've never realized how lucky you are that Grandpa raised you. And all the sacrifices he made for you.

You crawl toward the base and quickly climb onto one of the large light posts and sap it of it's energy to get some extra juice. You then turn yourself into energy and travel into the one of the cameras in order to find the security office. After feeling your way around a bit, you realize that many of these wires are leading to one central position. You follow the transmissions to the security room and climb up on the ceiling to avoid being spotted.

You inspect the screens that these guards are staring at, but are having trouble finding anything suspicious. To make it easier, you try to tune into the radio channel that these guys are using to eavesdrop a bit. From the radio chatter, you conclude that he's being held in "Cell Block-D". From the locations and labels on the camera screens, you map out a route to Cell Block-D and make your way there.

Upon exiting a nearby outlet, you jump from corner, avoiding any guards on patrol. You start to wonder which prison cell he's in, so you try sensing which one is drawing the most power. You don't know if this is an accurate assumption, but you manage to narrow it down to one cell in particular. "D-11". You could've guessed that.

You turn into energy and slip through the door, only to see a black haired boy in a glass chamber. He appears to be unconscious, and there's some red and black liquid covering his body.

We made preparations to transport him to this facility to research the full extent of his abilities. Subject has been known to have a very rebellious attitude when it comes to respecting authority. This while likely set our plans back further than we anticipated.

[Log 2]: 6/28/13. Subject has displayed an incredible aptitude for absorbing any material that he comes in contact with. He can create a type of dermal armor that reinforces hid body, but it's only a shell with his real body underneath. For now, he can only absorb as much as the volume of the object will allow. We continue with our research and experiments to try and draw out the subject's full potential.

[Log 3]: 4/15/15. Subject has perfected his ability to absorb materials and has even learned how to mold shapes using the absorbed material. Subject is now able to absorb as much of the material as he wants, regardless of the available volume of the material. An interesting side-effect is his ability to endlessly reproduce the material that he's absorbed. This could prove to be very useful in the future if our country were to ever fall deeper into the economic crisis.

[Log 4]: 7/21/17. Subject has been introduced to an extraterrestrial life form that has been found in Malaysia. The organism has shown signs of sentience and intelligence that has far exceeded our expectations. It appears to be living technology. I've never seen anything quite like this before. It's ability to interface with technology and corrupt or destroy it, have led the lab boys to adopt a name for it. They like to call it "Malware". High command has ordered that we introduce this organism to Subject 11, in hopes that he would absorb its material and fuse with it. The research we could gather from this experiment might put us much further ahead in the arms race and in technological development.

[Log 5]: 12/24/17. Subject has displayed signs of mental and emotional abuse. We're concluding that the organism has managed to effect his mental state and learn our language. Subject has become very violent and unstable as a result. We've concluded that the organism is a bad influence on the subject and is affecting the subject's ability to make sound judgments. The discipline that we have built up over these past couple of years are slowly becoming undone, and we simply cannot afford to have that happen. For the time being, we have tranquilized the subject and are waiting for further instruction on the matter.

So this liquid is an alien creature? He doesn't sound like he'd be willing to reason with you. But it's worth a shot. You electronically manipulate the console and drain the chamber, waking the subject up.

[Wade]: Maybe I can put you back to sleep and sneak you out of here.

Kevin starts to hyperventilate, but forces himself to calm down.

[Kevin]: Ok. Ok, I'm ready. I hope you know what you're doing.

[Wade]: You and me both, pal.

You command the console to put Kevin under once more. Malware relaxes a bit more and becomes more loose and lifeless. After about 2 minutes, you open up the chamber and pull Kevin out. The alien organism begins to crawl onto your fur, slowly inching toward your Omnitrix. You give him a little shock every time he gets too close or oversteps his boundaries. It's pretty difficult to carry him in your current form, but you can manage with dragging him around. The question is how will you get him out of here?

>Patiently sneak him out with old fashioned stealth tactics.

You decide to time out and wait for the watch to recharge. You place Kevin back in the chamber and re-initiate the sleep process. Hopefully, he won't have too many harmful symptoms from this.

You check yourself to make sure that you didn't get any Malware on your clothes or anything. Suddenly, you hear some guards talking near the door. You think they're trying to get in! You go to hide behind the chamber to avoid being seen, praying your watch will allow you to recharge faster. Fortunately for you, these guards do a very sloppy job of checking the place, and they leave the room soon afterward. You'll have to be more careful from now on. After a couple of minutes, your watch recharges successfully.

You attempt to use your acute sense of smell and hearing to detect the guards around you. You begin crawling on the ceiling and traveling through vents, carefully trying not to make too much noise. You quickly direct your blood to your wings and make them razor sharp, without crushing Kevin. You slice the light posts and slash all of their tires just to make sure that they can't follow you. Before they can figure out what's going on, you quickly fly over to the RV and lay Kevin down inside, unraveling your wing cocoon in the process. Grandpa and Olivia take this as a sign to hop in and make a clean getaway. You begin using your wings to cut away any strands that Malware created to try and find something in the RV to absorb. After a few minutes of driving, Grandpa stops by an old abandoned gas station to assess the situation. You've timed out soon after leaving the base.

[Phil]: How's he looking?

[Wade]: He's fine, but this alien thing keeps growing. We need to find some way to stop it.

Grandpa observes the creature for a bit and walks away to find something. You look over to see what he's doing, and you see him pull out a strange looking device with two metal rods. He comes back and places it near Kevin. As soon as he does, the alien reacts negatively and begins to thrash wildly.

[Wade]: What'd you do?

[Phil]: It's a Galvanic Mechamorph. Weak to magnetic pulses. But this one's unlike any I've ever seen before.

Soon enough, Kevin wakes up and begins screaming. He seems to be reacting to the magnetic pulses as well.

[Phil]: That's not good! Hold him down.

Grandpa runs to get another device. This time it appears to be portable scanner. He scans Kevin and takes a moment to read the results.

[Olivia]: Is he gonna be ok?

[Phil]: This thing got into his guts too. He's connected to his vital organs. If we hurt it too much or try to force it off of him, he might not make it.

[Wade]: Well then, what do you suppose we do?

[Phil]: I don't think we can do anything. But maybe he can. He needs to fight this thing, or else it'll keep using his body a puppet.

You open up your watch and select the best guy for the job, Thriller Whale!

You slam down hard on your watch and shrink down a bit. You try and think any motivational songs that you can play. All you can think of is a song from one of your favorite Japanese cartoons.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SDBTVcBUVs

Yeah that's it! This song always gets you motivated to try your best at something. Olivia gets hyped just from hearing the song play, and Grandpa is a bit confused but he goes along with it anyways.

[Wade]: Are you gonna let that little slimeball tell you what to do? You're Kevin Levin, and you've never let anyone tell you what to do without putting up a fight!

You're glad that you read his bio. Olivia and Grandpa join you in telling him to fight it.

[Wade]: Fight it! Don't let this thing control you! He's not in charge this time, you are.

[Olivia]: Come on, don't be a punk!

[Phil]: Fight it!

And with that, Kevin grabs the metal magnetic rod and absorbs it, increasing it's effectiveness. He screams as if someone were stabbing him, but that might be because that;s what malware is doing to him. With one last push, Malware jumps off of Kevin and flies out the window. Kevin finally lays back down on the table, sweating profusely and breathing heavily.

[Phil]: You did good kid.

Now it's time to recapture Malware. You go outside to see it slowly taking form as one solid shape. This must be what he's supposed to look like. He turns to look at you and speaks as if his words were dripping with malice.

[Malware]: You've taken him from me. We could have done so many wonderful things together. You shall pay!

[Wade]: He wasn't yours to take.

[Malware]: He was the only one who understood my pain. The pain of being a freak amongst your people. Those who deceived us, imprisoned us, harmed us...they have no right to live while we toil in misery.

You want to hit him for what he did to Kevin, for every cliche villainous line he spouts, but you stop for a moment. You remember what you said earlier.

[Wade]: Everyone deserves a chance.

[Malware]: What?

[Wade]: We don't have to do this. You don't have to be the bad guy. If you fight me here, then you'll never stop running and fighting for the rest of your life. I'm the only one here that won't attack you on sight. Please don't do this.

[Malware]: What...what would you have me do then?

[Wade]: Be the hero. Walk away. I'll tell them that I lost you in the woods.

[Malware]: Why are you doing this? What do you have to gain?

[Wade]: Nothing really. I just can't think of anything else that I can do for you. I just hope you find what you're looking for out there. But don't cause too much trouble, or else I'll be coming for you.

Malware just stares at you for a moment.

[Malware]: ...What is your name, human?

[Wade]: Wade. Wade Wakeman.

[Malware]: You are a fool. Your kindness shall surely be your undoing one day.

You frown a bit, wondering if your words got through to him.

[Malware]: I pray it does not. Farewell, Wade Wade Wakeman.

He runs off into the woods shortly after. Olivia runs outside to check on you.

[Olivia]: Where'd he go?

[Wade]: Gone...

[Olivia]: Well he'll show up again. But for now, you should come talk to Kevin.

You can barely pay attention to Olivia right now. Your head is racing 110 miles a minute right now. You aren't sure if you've done the right thing here. What if he really hurts someone? You couldn't forgive yourself if your decision cost someone their life. But if no one ever shows him kindness, then he'll always be the bad guy.

[Olivia]: Wade?

[Wade]: Yeah, I'm coming.

You cancel your transformation and walk into the RV.

[Kevin]: Gone? Like, you killed it? For good?

You and Olivia look at each other for a moment. You consider lying to him, since it would certainly put him at ease. But, you have no idea how he'll react if he ever sees Malware again. Or you could tell him the truth.

[Wade]: We'll find him. But for now, you should rest.

[Kevin]: Yeah...that sounds like a good idea. Thanks.

Kevin lays down and slowly closes his eyes once more. Within a minute, you notice that he's drifted off to sleep.

[Olivia]: Well that was fast. Guess he really was more tired than he said he was.

[Phil]: The feds will be looking for him, so we've gotta be careful with where we take him. I think I know a guy that can look after him for a while. It'll take time to legally dismantle that facility and expose their illegal activities. But for now, we should lay low.

[Wade]: Any way we can speed up the process?

[Phil]: The only way I can think of is making him write a testimony against them. I'd have to reach out to my old C.O., but I think I can make it work.

[Olivia]: Can't you reach him with your badge thingie?

[Phil]: No can do. This thing is only good for receiving direct transitions through old comms channels. Retired and discharged Plumbers aren't allowed to have too much information on current ops and procedures. But if I can reach a station with a powerful enough satellite, maybe I can send a direct transmission to Plumber HQ. Let me see if I can find any nearby outposts.

Grandpa starts messing with a GPS function on his communicator. You hear a ping come from it a few moments later.

[Phil]: Got it! There's an abandoned Plumber outpost a few miles out west. Strap in kids.

Grandpa pulls out of the gas station and gets back on the road.

------

For the majority of the ride, you absentmindedly gaze at the scenery from the window. There isn't much light on these roads. Must be because you're nearing the countryside. Suddenly, you realize that it's pitch black outside. Like it's completely dark! At closer inspection, you see that there's many tiny creatures on the window moving around. You can also hear a faint buzzing sound. Are these...bugs?

You thoughts are interrupted by Grandpa swerving to the side of the road and coming to a complete stop.

You run outside and begin throwing fireballs at random clusters of bugs to break them up a bit. Seeing that the bugs on the RV haven't moved much, you focus on creating a bright flare from your hands. Many of the insects become interested and start to cover your body. You feel many sharp stings and painful bites, but you have to bear with it to attract as many bugs as possible. Once they've covered you completely, you ignite your entire body and burn every single bug to a charred crisp.

It looks like you've dealt with a majority of them. Your knees feel a bit weak, and you nearly double over for a moment. Those bugs must have secreted some sort of venom when they were stinging you. You're alright, but it's a bit harder for you to stay focused.

Suddenly, you feel the ground beneath you begin to shake. A large centipede erupts from the ground and coils around you. It appears to be somewhat resistant to your flames. A gross looking bug man lands next to you and begins inspecting you with his beady little eyes.

>Nah, he's too damaged. We don't know what those government guys did to his mind.
>It'd be cool to have a new member of Team Wakeman.
>Why you like him or something?

[Wade]: Anything is possible. He didn't seem like a bad guy. But it'd be cool to have new member of Team Wakeman.

[Olivia]: I know, right? The minimum for a great superhero team is 3.

[Wade]: Who says he wants to be on a team? Or a superhero for that matter.

[Olivia]: Well we can ask him when he wakes up.

[Kevin]: Or you could ask me now.

Olivia jumps after hearing Kevin walk up behind her. He limps a little bit, but he appears to be steady for now.

[Wade]: We were just talking about what we were gonna do with you. My Grandpa is in there now sending a transmission so his Plumber buddies can come to pick you up.

Kevin gives you a confused look.

[Kevin]: Uh, I don't think these government rats need their toilets cleaned.

[Olivia]: No, not like that. Plumbers are intergalactic police officers like our Grandpa.

[Kevin]: Cops?! Nuh-uh. I don't do cops.

Kevin is getting frantic.

What do you say?

>"It's either that or you go back to that military base."
>"We need you to go with them. It's the only way to nail the guys that did this to you.
>"Please, just trust us. We've helped you before, and we won't abandon you now."

You'll just need to say what they did to you and that'll be it. But hey, if you don't want all the people that did that illegal stuff to you taken down we won't force you to do anything you don't wanna do.

[Wade]: We need you to go with them. It's the only way to nail the guys that did this to you. You'll just need to tell them what they did to you, and that'll be it.

Kevin starts to consider what you're saying.

[Wade]: But hey, if you don't want all the people that imprisoned you and experimented on you to be taken down, we won't force you to do anything you don't wanna do.

You're winning him over. Time to drive it on home.

[Wade]: Plus, we'll go with you to make sure you get there and back fine. So don't worry about it.

[Kevin]: Hmm. You drive a hard bargain, Wakeman. You've got yourself a deal.

He extends a hand toward you, and you firmly shake it.

[Olivia]: Soooo...about that proposition from before?

[Kevin]: The superhero thing? Not my kind of thing. But I don't have any problems cracking a few skulls for a hot meal.

[Wade]: That's reasonable. Just don't fight any innocent people.

[Kevin]: Deal.

Grandpa walks through the door shortly after.

[Phil]: Kevin, you're up. That's good, because i wanted to talk to-

[Wade]: I already handled it Grandpa. He agreed to it.

[Phil]: Oh, well my C.O. told me that he'd be here in a few. He happened to be in the neighborhood. Lucky us.

[Kevin]: Cool, where are they taking me? Some kinda safehouse?

[Phil]: Yes and no. You're headed to Plumber HQ.

[Kevin]: And that is, where exactly?

Grandpa smiles and gives you all a signal to follow him. You walk outside and see him point a finger upward. As you look up, you see a bright white light shoot across the sky. It gets brighter and brighter, until you realize it's coming right for you! You immediately think back to your accident with the meteor and consider running, but Grandpa tells you to calm down. The bright light lands behind him, and reveals itself to be a spacecraft! All of you are absolutely speechless.

[Phil]: Congratulations, Kevin. You're gonna be the first human kid to go to space!

Meanwhile...

A portal opens up, and a scruffy looking man wearing a black coat falls out of it. He picks himself up and dusts himself off, looking visibly agitated. Following him, is a smug man wearing a luxurious coat and using a cane to walk.

[Kirby]: Is this your idea of a joke Paradox?

[Paradox]: On the contrary Tennyson, this is my idea of rehabilitation. You've been out of the hero game for far too long, and it's time you helped someone other than yourself for a change.

[Kirby]: I'm not a hero. Not anymore.

Kirby shows his arm to Paradox. There's nothing attached to it.

[Paradox]: Maybe not at the moment, but I still think you can do some good here. There's a young boy here, and I really think he can benefit from your guidance. He will soon face a threat that's greater than anything he could have imagined, and he will need to be ready for it.

[Kirby]: And you want me to teach him?

[Paradox]: Precisely, glad you understand. Good luck.

Paradox turns around and walks back into the portal.

[Kirby]: This doesn't change anything between us, Paradox. I still haven't forgotten about what happened to Kenny.

Paradox stops for a moment, then continues to walk through. He then throws a strange looking bag at Kirby.

[Paradox]: Don't forget the missus.

Paradox closes the portal and leaves Kirby stranded. The bag begins to shake and make whispering noises. Kirby looks at it for a moment.

[Kirby]: Yeah, I hate him too honey.

(Session End)

To be continued...

That's an interesting cliffhanger there. And will the next session be in a new thread or not? Still, I'm excited to see how it'll play out.

The next session will be in a new thread and it'll most likely take place next week.

I'm really excited to introduce this new character, because I'm going to enjoy writing his dialogue and personality.
