We were going into a dungeon with Mai to level her up, and had decided to favor loot to go back with gifts for the Alquian shadoes, as they seem to be using [Fine] weapons (which is fine, really) but nothing of higher quality.

Thus, we're riding on top of one of Fleur's hydra-like shambling mounds (on it's back? Looks like the back but its a plant, so on the bark?) while hugging our pet flower from behind as she directs the plant monster, with Mai sitting next to us, leaning back on her hands as she crosses her legs and comments about what a cheat our plant is.

"It's alright because she's cute." - we reply while rubbing her head (gently, since she has petals rather than hair)
"Is that how it works?"
"It is." - we repeat

"Ah, Master, love you." - cooes Fleur softly

Oooh, she's being extra cute today... but we're still not letting her eat the loot.

Ah...

>We should try and save gear of the type each shadow uses (staff, spear, chakram, sai, whip, butterfly swords, meteor hammer). Is what they've practiced all their lives with, after all.

Remind me, we went for beasts or humanoids? Its relevant to know how long for the drops we are hoping for to drop, since beasts drop high quality materials while humanoids drop weapons of lesser (but still high) quality
>>
>>3076880
We went for Beast heavy.
>>
>>3076884
Alright so we'll get plenty of materials. Do we want to make them ourselves or ask Grumnir to make them for us (for a price of course)?
>>
>>3076887
Let's do it ourselves. Our levels should be high enough to Craft something good.
>>

sounds fine to me.

And so, we spent most of some 10 hours either petting Fleur or groping/cuddling Mai while the hydra plant... should we call it that? While the hydra plant just vacuum cleaned the poor dungeon monsters and left the drops behind for us.

"This lost its novelty some time ago." - comments Mai
"Well, let's not confuse the means with the end. We just wanted to get you levels. Its not like you need the combat practice."
"True."

In the end, we managed to give her the archdruid's tree stride ability, as well as enough loot to craft a small arsenal.

"Hmm... is it alright if I use a chain for the meteor hammer? I think that monkey.. monkeykin? Monkin? Apekin?..."
"Monkey tribe." - supplements our redheaded instructor
"I think the girl wielding the meteor hammer had one with rope."
"It can be made either way, bothy have their pros and cons. A rope is easier to cut, a chain is easier to smash and a little harder to wield. It can bear more weight, though."
"Alright, so I'll make a meteor hammer with a ---

The rest of the items are less... optional. There's just one way to make a staff, one way to make a sai, etc.

In the end, we ended up with a huge pile of [Fine] weapons, a moderate pile of [Runic] weaapns and a [Legendary] weapon of each right type.

"I guess I'll sell the others."
"Oh, now I kind of want one of my own." - comments Mai in a good mood
"Eh? I haven't seen teacher use any single weapon, though? Mostly unarmed strikes or thrown projectiles."
"I know, I'm joking. But if you could let me have some of the [Runic] weapóns, I could get some cards to make them come back after I throw them."

We give her five short spears.

And with our work for the night(?) done with, we go back to Alquia for Lyann and Miel.

I wonder if it would be possible to pencil in a meeting with Ren, as a way of paying back the two nobles for their time and dignity.
Also I want to buy some land somewhere in the Empire and try giving it to them, while they're Pets, to see if that will Civilize the rest of the Majin on the continent.

We thank Mai for coming along with us as we arrive back at the alquian palace, and our teacher gives us a kiss as she thanks us back.

She dissapears rather quickly, so we head back to Mako's chambers and enter quietly, finding her and the other girls absent, though we can hear them in the bath.

Well, we were up all night, and though we didn't fight ourselves, dungeons aren't the cleanest places, so let's join them.

We undress and wash before stepping into the large bath, finding Lyann and Mako being gently intimate.

We kiss and caress them before joining Lyann into washing Mako, with Aritsu enjoying the pool-sized bath while Dawn is washing her bright neon pink hair under a gentle water stream.

"Eldric, did it all go well?" - asks Mako after we kiss her
"Yes." - we kiss her again, this time with a longer, lingering kiss as we caress her

>"Can I take Aritsu and Dawn with me for a bit?" - ask her opinion, since we've made it clear they're as much 'her toys' as they're ours (more serious with our s/m)

"Eh...? But I am already used to sleeping with Dawn at night!" - complains our beautiful eastern empress

Well, we're pretty sure she meant that literally, as fun as it sounded.

"She's not a hug pillow, love." - we smooch her softly
"A~alright." - she nods softly

Once we enjoy assisting our empress to dry and dress, we kiss her again and then help Aritsu, Dawn, Lyann and Miel in turn.

Uhmm...

"Eldric, what is it?" - asks Dawn as we stare at the open journal in our hands
"Ah, sorry. I wrote a message for Stella and was hoping she would answer."
"She's not a little girl, you know? She's already a lady in a marriable age... Eldric, what's with that face? You look like someone had dumped a cup of dirt unto your breakfast."
"Hh... was I making such a face?"
"Yes." - Lyann from the side
"Indeed." - Aritsu from the other
"Truly." - Mako from across the breakfast table
"Really." - Miel from next to Mako
"Ah... no, well, I can't help but think about her as a small child."

I mean, she's only 13, you know? Ah but in this world you're an adult at 15.

"Well, I was hoping she'd answer."
"There's no way she'd answer right away. It is not as if you stare at your jouirnal all day, just waiting to reply at someone, do you?" - comments Aritsu
"...ring tone." - we comment
"What is that?" - asks our blonde honey faery queen
"I need to add a ring tone to Stella's journal."
"Like I said, what is that!?"
"Anyway, we're going to check on her after breakfast."
"What is a ring tone." - asks Miel softly to Mako

Our beautiful empress makes a 'don't ask me' gesture with her right hand

***

And that's why, after breakfast, we've come back to check on our puppymouto

Going into the manor, one of the beastkin maids greets us at the door, and informs us that Stella has gone out with our cousin to check the auctions for this week.

Uhn. Well, if she's with Alard she's probably alright, but we already crossed the continent to check on her, so let's go look for her, into the market, I guess.

All four girls seem rather unhappy about this, somehow?

"What- what is it?"

The other girls pause and look at Dawn with a mix of feelings for a moment.

In the end, we ride with them in the coach, and while there wasn't anything naughty along the trip, we did hug and cuddle a fair bit.

Dawn seems quite enthusiastic about cuddling, really. For a succubus, she seems to enjoy closeness and tenderness more than sex itself. Well, she's not a 100% succubus anyway.

"The market is quite large," - said Miel as she looked out

Well, she hasn't seen the main market in Eopolis, so given that, this would be the largest marketplace she's ever seen.

"How are we going to look for Alard and Stella?" - asks Lyann

Don't forget to collect and refine milk from Lyann, Aritsu, and Dawn. Sykia is getting the milk from Mocha and Crema, so we should collect that and refine it as well.
Then we can compare the milk from a Human, Elf, and Auroch, and see if there are any bonuses like we discovered with other foods.

What about Miel? I think it would be interesting to learn about the Honey Faerie lifecycle and she’s given birth many times before, so her body is used to producing milk (if Faeries even feed their young milk). Also it would be interesting to see if it’s some kind of Royal Jelly-equivalent since she’s a queen.

It may sound weird but, wouldnt she produce honey? Or at least something like that.

We decide to stay together as a group, and wander the market looking for Stella and Alard.

The place is quite large, though it is a single floor, rather than the mall-like building in Eopolis. There are, however, small plazas surrounded by food stands every hundred meters-

For starters, we ask around for slave auctions, since we know Stella likes to buy/rescue beastkin children when possible, and find that there will be several through the day in the Catleya Merchant House, so we go over and start looking for our puppy imouto there.

We spot Alard soon, while he stands in the lobby and checks the board with the schedule for the auction.

"Cousin, it is good that we found you so soon." - we greet him
"Oh? You are bringing everyone along today." - he replies as he greets us
"Well, we are still missing Mako, but she cannot simply go around however she wants anymore."
"I do not think I've had the pleasure of meeting her yet..."
"Let's correct that soon. Where is Stella, by the way."
"Powder room. She actually called it the powder room, you know?" - Alard says with a wry smile

Well, it certainly is a show of her improvement over this trip. A year ago she would have just said she needed to go toilet.

No, not even as a child would she have said she needed to poop, though. She was never that bad, just a bit spoiled.

"So, are there many auctions you are interested in today?" - we ask him
"Not really. I have never feel inclined to purchasing someone else, but Stella wants to buy a beastkin child that is being sold in the auction after this one. I will confess, I am a little worried her constantly purchasing kids is encouraging merchants to put them up for auction."

"Honestly, I think we should take this matter to the protectorate's council of nations. Bastion is a signing member, and they are bound to follow the laws the council sets for its members, or lose the many tax benefits and commercial routes that membership grants them." - he says - "Ideally, I'd like to outright ban slave breeding, but it is so deeply ingrained into the local culture, that I could see Bastion just walking out of the council if we tried that, and yet I think we should fake an attempt."
"What do you mean?"
"Rather than genuinely aim to outright ban slave breeding, we should aim for banning the sale of children under the age of 15. They can still move them from a 'ranch' to another in case a breeder is going out of business, but that's it. No sales to the general public."

>I don't think we have free trade between member nations of the Protectorate, do we?
No, not currently. I wonder if we should bring it up?

They can still charge tax for sales inside their national borders anyway, so even if they aren't taxed coming in, they will get taxed anyway. Some way to protect national goods should be implemented, though, or are you okay with letting some people go bankrupt on the short term so that traders and artisans settle into their specialties over time?

And as for Bastion, it exports a lot of slaves to Opel kingdom, and there's no way to convince the dwarves to not buy beastkin.

Lets see... some exclusive foods that only drop in their dungeons, too, and some luxury materials. Mostly they do banking, but Eopolis has begun eating into that since the war.

"Ah, big brother! I am happy to see you!" - Stella was about to jump-hug us, but holds back on the last moment

After a short stop at Albion to pick up Kya and Dusk, we head over to Newhope and exit from the tree in the garden of what used to be the town's guard tower/station.

Ah, they've installed a windmill on it? No, its different. There's smoke coming off a brand new chimney... oh, they made it into a furnace of sorts. I guess they're using wind power somehow?

"Oh, how nice." - says Dusk as she sees the many curious succubus gazing at us

By the way, their fashion has changed again. Now they're wearing short, soft dresses with a fluffy feel to it, though you can still see the school uniform they liked when Lyann was wearing it last time she visited.

Well, its good that they're becoming more varied and less of a hivemind/sorority group.

We find the elder attending her garden, dressed in some fresh-looking overalls of what looks like pressed cotton (literally, no tint to it, its just white), with a large gardening scissor in her hands, and soft leather sandals on her feet. Her amazing figure really looks nice in the simple but showy clothes, as from the side we can appreciate the whole of her curves while the 'barely there' effect of the overalls covering the tip of her breasts and lower body gives a gentle-yet-sensual mood to her figure.

"Oh, young master, you are very well accompanied today." - she greets us, then greets everyone in the group
"Thank you. Yes, they are all my beloved fianceés."

"Eh?" - she looks at us with a puzzled look - "So, they've agreed to be exclusive to you?"
"Yes. We will build a family together. Its like a small tribe, a really close group."
"Oh! I see." - she nods, seemingly understanding that - "Then you will be like their elder?"
"Ye~es?"
"Alright. Ah, but different groups have different concepts on marriage, it seems."
"It can vary within the same group, by things such as religion. Followers of Voltron are alright with multiple partners, while other religions limit the number instead." - explains Lyann
"Ah, elves don't really have marriage as a concept. We simply bond forever with our fated person!" - adds Aritsu

Eh... let's not point out that it is more of a biological thing with them. If she wants to look at it through pink glasses, its fine, really.

"Now that we are not eating our partners anymore, I wonder if we'll do marriage..." - the elder seems to think about it for a bit - "No, I mean, the tribe is our marriage?"
"I am sure your culture will evolve on its own." - says Kya with a gentle smile

"Ah!" - we add - "We wanted to know if you need anything."
"Me as in me, or do you mean the tribe?" - replies the elder
"Yes. Both?"
"I'd like some more colorful clothes!" - she declares outright - "And we've heard that communities grow around dungeons somehow? We'd like one of those, I think."

Right, we should help them start one

Oh, this would also let them have fresh seafood even though they’re far from the coast.

As for clothes, let’s see if she can leave the village for a day while we take her to Tazar after we finish our visits to Eopolis and Mantequira. In fact, it might be nice to introduce her to other cultures and to cities, by taking her to Eopolis and having her pick up some dresses.

Oh! And when in Mantequira, we could also get her dresses. Though when we arrive I think we should ask her to submit to being our Pet for the time that we’re there so people won’t try to attack her.

Suggestions? Traditionally, succubus names in this setting are related to light. Aura, Dusk, Dawn, Twilight, Zenith, etc.

"I will secure help from the voltronite church and start a dungeon in town. I think we can call it an investment?" - we sort of look over to Lyann at the end, and she lets out a little sigh as she nods.

"Yes, that shouldn't be a problem. Would you like to come in and have some sweet bread first? I need to have a shower and change, first." - replies the elder

We follow the elder into her house, which is nice on its own, given the sight of her soft skin and final-succubus-evolution-curves (definitively a technical term) from behind.

"I'm right here, you know?" - Lyann pokes us on the ribs, gently

The house is... dirty is the wrong word, since it clearly is meant to be this way. Basically, she's made many earth beds for indoor plants almost all over the floor, leaving very little room to stand on in the lobby.

"Please wait in the kitchen." - she says as she leads us there - "I am, growing herbs in this room."
"I think its the first time I've met anything coming closer to a farmer in this world." - we comment
"What is that?"
"A person that grows food."
"Aren't people foo- I mean, ah~ " - throat clear - "I think I need an explanation?"
"You purposefully grow plants you can eat."
"You can't eat these." - she explains - "They're great at pest control and filling the house with a nice scent."
"I see.."
"Please wait here. I'll be right back."

She leaves, already unbuttoning the straps on the back of her neck as she heads towards the bath... well, I guess the succubus still have a way to go towards civilization, but it makes sense that the concept of body shame would be alien to them.

"Hey, you have all of us, you know?" - comments Kya

I thought we already knew of the farmers of this world; they grow plants, and defeat the plant monsters that they become in order to harvest drops.

>Suggestions? Traditionally, succubus names in this setting are related to light. Aura, Dusk, Dawn, Twilight, Zenith, etc.
What about Apogee? Or maybe Nadir.

“Yes, I do have you, don't I?” - we gently 'catch' her hands between our thumb and index, and pull her in towards us for a kiss.

She's the only girl in our group that is actually taller than us (for now), so she has to lean in a little bit for the kiss, which causes her figure to bend and arc slightly while we let go of her hands and slide them up her arms to hug her, softly caressing the back of her head and at the small of her back, keeping her in position for a long, lingering kiss.

“Milord, everyone is watching...!” - she comments, flushing bright red.

Right, we haven't introduced her properly to our group activities yet, have we? We should correct that in the near future. Not too soon in the future though, since her bashfulness is fun and sweet.

“It is alright.”
“But...!”
“It is alright, because you are mine.” - we reply, and kiss her again while she blushes like an apple

Yup, refreshing, and it makes such a huge contrast with how open and carefree she was as our pet...

“You didn't mind when you were a pet.” - we whisper in her ear
“Milord!” - oh, she can blush even brighter

We shush her with a kiss that lasts all the way until the elder comes back.

“Thank you for waiting.” - she says, walking in wearing a long, wool-knit sweater that while having a turtle neck, leaves her shoulders and back completely exposed, though we don't realize such until a couple of moments later.

Hm, I guess it makes sense for a race with both wings and a tail... also, it looks really nice. Fresh, but sexy in a casual way. Beautiful women don't need to dress up to show off, after all. Simple clothes suit them best.

“Ah, you smell really nice.” - says Aritsu - “Is that goldleaf?”
“Yes, I am growing it myself. Always liked the scent. It is gentle, yet lingers for quite a while.” - explains the elder - “Since I was working in the garden, the scent of sap and ground was a bit strong.”

Was it? We honestly couldn't tell. I guess that, as expected from a race that uses pheromones to communicate by scent, their sense of smell is quite sharp.

Maybe that's why she took a shower? Rather than because she was dirty (she really wasn't), it was to wash away the scents of garden work? I guess social conventions are different from a tribe to another, after all.

Oh, maybe light fragrance candles would be popular among succubi? Or perhaps producing scented candles/perfumes would be a line of work that the succubi could trade with the elven nations of Yellowleaves and Silverspire.

She guides us to the furnace, and shows that indeed, they installed the windmill sails on the tower in order to make it into a furnace. It powers the bellows 24/7, keeping the fire hot enough to melt the sand's sillica into glass.

You actually need a higher temperature to melt sand than to work with copper or iron. Let's look into making a furnace with reflective bricks soon. It'll be much better at reaching and keeping high temperatures.

What surprises us, though, is that they have semi automated a lot of the work. In a world where all you need is to make something yourself once before you can replicate it using [Craft], it is somewhat strange to see molten glass being poured into molds, before bellows blow regulated, always similar amounts of air into them.

Well, they still manually (with tools, of course) cut/pickup the overflow, though, so the process isn't completely automated.

“Why are you not using [Craft]?” - asks Miel, who has seen Ellie use [Cook] and [Craft] plenty of times around the house
“It takes too much mana to make a single test tube.” - replies the elder - “We would never be able to meet volume if we did it that way. Besides, everyone had fun coming up with this idea.”

Right, succubus love inventing things, as long as they are interesting. Random bursts of creativity.

“Speaking of which, we are storing the finished goods in two warehouses. One is to the north of town, and the other to the east.”
“Why in two?” - we ask
“They're quite delicate. If something happens in one of the buildings, it is important that we keep at least half the production.”

Right, they went straight from monsters into villagers, so while they do have their own [Inventory] space, it isn't -that- big (they're not high level enough), so storing things the traditional way should be obvious.

“I see. Is it alright if we pick it up now?”
“Of course. The warehouses are at near capacity anyway, so please do. Everyone is looking forth to the money so we can purchase things.

Have they become capitalists already? Well, it's fine.

Well, even if they are able to mass produce petry dishes and test tubes, they still need to make the most delicate and complex distilling tubes and spiral decanters by hand, or use [Craft], though, so those are not as numerous.

Once we ask Lyann to pay for things, and store the goods in her [Inventory], she reports that the test tubes can only stack up to 12 per inventory slot.

Eh, for a brand new good, it is a little impressive that [System] already has a stacking limit on them.

The worrying part is that the more delicate bits like the decanters cannot be stacked at all, so we all need to pitch in with their storage. Well, thankfully we've unlocked Scion for all the girls. A hundred slave levels give you a lot of storage space.

These will be expensive goods further down the roads, even if you just look at the transport fees. Yeah...

I remember brokering a deal with Honoria to have dwarves build the furnaces here; weren't they going to use reflective bricks in them?

“Thank you for your purchase.” - smiles the elder
“Thank you for your hard work.”

Now, we need to deliver these to the lab, so let's take the chance and meet with Asmind and Okaba.

After thanking the elder again, we [Treestride] all the way to the keep's inner garden, then make our way to the lab. Thanks to Okaba's research, the short-range teleport platforms have been repaired, so it is much faster to move inside the mammoth-sized building.

“Ah, lord Eldric, good morning!” - greets a succubus when we show up.

Erhh... we know her, right? She knows us, anyway... right, she's one of Okaba's former devadashi-turned-lab assistant, right? Shamak... Shamack?

“Hello, Chamak.” - nice save from Kya.

Well, of course she would know her.

“Good morning, miss Chamak!” - we reply at last - “Is the king around?”
“His majesty is in the aviary's landing platform.” - replies the light emerald-haired succubus
“Thank you.”

We make our way up, and find that the gryphons seem to have taken a liking to their new home. Well, this place used to tend to their species for god knows how many generations, so calling it specialized would be a massive understatement.

Asmund, Okaba and Sykia are out in the landing area/balcony together with one of the probe prototypes. This one has been clearly modded to carry what looks like a black and white era science fiction idea of a raygun, though.

“Greetings.” - says Asmund, then walks over to shake our hand before turning over and looking at his sister while smooching her forehead and rubbing the top of her head

Eh, for a necromancer elder vampire heading what could technically pass as a LE nation, he's a really good and caring brother, isn't he? But maybe LN would be a better description...?

“Lord Eldric, welcome.” - greets Okaba
“Your majesty.”
“You are just in time for our prototype test flight.” - he adds
“I see you successfully attached the lightning gun. Does it has its own power, or are you using the probe's own?”

Asmund turns around at that.

“The lightning crossbow” - he corrects - “Is tapping into the probe's power core and shields. It is normally able to deliver a decent blow, but whenever the probe gets hit, the shields need to vent and that has classically led to overheat and eventual failure. Now it will just add power to the crowwbow's potency.”
“Your succubus was most helpful in designing the system. She is quite adept at handling... current, was it?” - adds Okaba
“Yes, your majesty.” - replies Sykia politely
“I was wondering if you could trade her over to me?” - asks our tall winged friend

>”Ha ha, no, no way, I really need her, you know?”
>”I'm keeping an eye on her, since she doesn't seems to mind designing and helping build weapons for anyone, you know? She's a pet, so she can't really be put on trial, but if she was, she'd be a penal slave by now, you see.” - she did help the former minister of the right and supplied him with cutting edge modern weapons, so we're as much her friend as her jailor, really.

"I am sorry, my friend, but I also need her for many of my own projects. However, I have nothing against letting her assist you in your projects when she has time."

As much as I'd like to ask her if she wants to go with Okaba, she's currently under the mind control effects of being a Pet, so asking her who she'd rather serve is pointless.

We'll have to remember to buy dresses in Eopolis and Mantequira.

“I see. I can't blame you for wanting to hold on to such a fine helper. Which reminds me, the baron's daughters have already arrived and are waiting for you at the palace.”
“I will pick them up as soon as possible.” - we nod and thank him
“Then, let's go on with this test.”

Everyone retrats a safe distance from the test probe for its launch, with Sykia (being a pet and therefore immortal) remaining as the operator while we watch.

The launch is successful, but that isn't really a surprise. Our friends have prepared small and colorful flying targets, and release them now after everyone walks back to Sykia's side.

“Alright, try the crossbow now.” - says Asmund, and Sykia nods, steering the probe towards the floating targets

Honestly, she's a pretty bad shot, but the controls are a very simplified version of the normal ones, so it can't be helped if the control too, is much diminished. The important part is that the gun works properly.

“Now let's test the shield-boosted attacks.” - suggests Asmund - “Eldric, can you hit it with a mild spell from here?”
“Sure.”

We hit the probe with a 3rd sphere spell, and the gun's next shot is much more powerful.

“Let's keep repeating that for a while.”
“Alright.”

The gun did burn out after 27 shots, but due to its size, its resistances seem unable to endure more than that. Then again, maybe the shield-boosted shots were too strong for it.

Its not like it is a combat model anyway. We just want it to have a stinger to defend itself with, next time something tries to eat it.

>Lets keep trying to improve the gun's life and rof
