May 23rd, 1999.

"So what should we name it?" Jotaro asks his wife, staring into the sea and waiting for the shark to show up.
"The baby? I don't know, we're still waiting for her mom to show up, but if she really has no parents, Joseph said he could think of a few Japanese names for the kid."
"I was talking about the shark we're looking for. I did some research and found out it's a Heterodontus japonicus. Those are usually pretty small and docile, so I'm curious as to what made him act this way."
"Don't tell me you're getting attached to the enemy..." Hitomi chastised Jotaro, thinking he might not be up for the task.
"I can't say I see him as an enemy. Shark finning and hunting is looked down upon by most western countries, although that doesn't stop the fishermen from diminishing shark populations. Maybe he was just feeling threatened and isn't actually hostile."
"Well I hope you're right, because I sure don't want to fight against an aggressive shark underwater, even I don't know how that would go."
"Japanese bullhead sharks are only a meter wide at most. For such a small creature to take down a fishing ship, it's Stand must be pretty far out there."

Around 40 minutes later, you and the fishermen stay with their poles in hand, patiently awaiting any signs of marine activity, but the sea was just as dead Jotaro's naming creativity."
"What about Kaigan-san? (Mr. Seashore)"
"Kaigan-san?"
"I thought about Mr Sea, but that would get too confusing."
"How about finding the damn fish first before we get cute with his name?"
"Isn't fishing about being patient? We'll be for a while now, Hitomi. Who knows how long we'll wait..."

"Alright, alright... I just haven't fished in a while, that's all."
"I guess we could scope out the place with our Stands, although being underwater will somewhat hinder our vision." Jotaro proposed.
"Seeing Stands underwater would make him feel a lot more intimidated than just seeing a fishing ship, maybe we're better off with just this bait, whatever it is."
"Those are a mashed invertebrates and small bony fishes. It's what bullheads tend to eat most of the time. If it was a bigger shark type we might have to use a few alternative methods, but since it's just Kaigan-san, catching him should be pretty easy once we find him."

Another hour goes by, no shark in sight. Feeling like you've deserved some rest after sitting around on a boat getting sunburnt, you waltz out of the deck to keep tabs on Kakyoin's date with Aya.
To your surprise, they seemed to behaving a very pleasant time together, laughing to each other as they joked around and shared a wine bottle.
"Yeah, my blood pressure's fine now. Your friend Hitomi gave me a lot of helpful advice on how take care of my condition. How did you even meet up with her anyway?"
"It's a very long story. We went to the same high school, but we didn't start hanging out after going to Egypt together with Joseph and a few of his friends. I have a lot of fond memories of those days, despite the shortcomings we've had throughout."
"*Phew* How come?" Aya sighed, leaning to Kakyoin's side to listen to his tale.
"It was the first time I managed to actually call people friends. I might not be a social butterfly now, but I would be in a pretty worse if I didn't meet Hitomi and Jotaro, no doubt about it. Can you believe I actually help them get together back when they first started dating? Jotaro was sort of a newbie when it came to relationships and didn't know what he wanted on girls."
"So now you're stuck on the same situation he was in back then? How ironic..." Aya giggled, much to Kak's dismay.
"That's not it, I just... Lost my social skills when I started living alone, I'm getting better, but I still don't know if I'm good enough to start a relationship and all..."
"I feel like you're overthinking this, Kakyoin. You're safe putting your trust in me, there's no need for you to be worried." Aya laid a hand on his shoulder, attempting to calm the insecure man's anxiety.

You know, among things we forgot, turning our stand to a liquid state might be one of them. Could be helpful? Coming up.
>>
>>3078400
iirc liquid state karma took a lot out of Crusader Hitomi - she could only use it for short bursts at a time? It'll be good for the actual fight but until Jaws makes his move we gotta save our strenght.

....Actually it might be interesting to see how part 4 Hitomi manages liquid state karma, since we DID vote for her to git gud at stand usage during the time skip (even though we picked the hamon option for all her combat this part kek)

"It's not like I don't trust you, it's just that I'm inexperienced, I thought most people wouldn't go after a guy like me, you know? The guy who always keeps quiet and only shares his thoughts to himself, I've been fighting against this feeling of loneliness all my life, but even at my peak, I still thought I was outclassed by the ones who came before me. It's why I only found peace at my job and with my working crew."
"Kakyoin. I can guarantee you that experience is completely overshadowed by your confidence if you know what you're doing. I've dated a lot of people in my teenage years, but they were always the confident type, the ones who thought they could spin the world upside down with a snap of their fingers, no matter what goals they had, they always put it above their loved ones and ended up biting more than they could chew. It was pretty frustrating to deal with the busy type, who never had any time to talk, but still acted as if everything was ok between me and them."
"Why are you telling me this?" Kakyoin failed to see the point in her story.
"What I'm getting at is that I see the toal opposite with you. Not a lot of people get close to you, but when it happens, you'll give the world to them if it means it'll help them out, and I think I know why..."
"It's because I'm at my best when people understand my thoughts..." Kakyoin answered it for her.
"Exactly. Maybe that was just what I was looking for all this time, a simple person with a good heart, I don't need to go after a rich hunk or a supermodel if it's more trouble than they're worth. If the feeling is mutual, what more can you ask for?"
Feeling accepted by the aesthetician and her reactive body language, Kakyoin finally had the courage to lean in and give her a kiss. But alas, Kakyoin was never fate's Number one fan.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" A fisherman flew straight in between the starting couple, forcing Kakyoin to shove her away from danger after a mere peck on the lips.
"What happened with Daizo- san?" The other fishermen asked, seeing the older man being dragged into the sea, despite letting go of the fishing pole.
"I think he got the shark, but the little shit pulled him off the deck."
"Get inside, all of you! The enemy Stand decided to show up!" Jotaro declared.
"Damn did I miss hearing that..." Hitomi commented, cracking her joints and summoning Karma Chameleon.
"Help! I'm being pulled down!" Daizo struggled as something started to push him into the sea. The fishing pole, however, was straying further away from him and the boat.
Seeing how you either had to focus on saving the drowning fisherman (and presumably his Stand) or getting the shark straight away, the decision had to be nearly instantaneous.

>Save the fisherman.

"I'll help you out, captain!" You leaned at the edge of the deck to see if you could reach the shark's Stand and Daizo with Karma Chameleon.
Your Stand was almost there, but when you tried to grab hold of the panicking man, you felt a strong push from behind your back, you didn't know who exactly pushed you, but before going into the water, you could tell it's hands were wet.
"I got your back!" Kakyoin stretched out his coyly Stand to take you back on the fishing boat, but the sudden acceleration from the vessel prevented Hierophant Green from pulling you off.
"Who's moving the boat?" Jotaro asked, noticing they were distancing themselves from the fish.
"No one! The tides suddenly picked up! We're losing control!" What appeared to be a very low tide for the entire day suddenly turned into a strong current, unpredicted by even the most accurate of weather forecasts as the boat bumped and tilted from fighting the strong waves.
"Guess I have no other choice!" Hitomi held her breath and placed her head underwater, trying to see what the hell was gnawing at the fisherman's feet.
Things turned for the worst as she only saw the men with his neck twisted, floating upwards as his lungs were exposed from the inside out, the clear water turning into an opaque red.
The doctor, fearing the worst, went right back to the surface to get some air and warn the others, however she felt something pull down on her head.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Muffled laughter was heard from above, as siren made out of water cackled with glee, summoning more tritons and mermaid-like creatures from the water, each of them diving in and adding weight to cease your struggle.
With only Hierophant Green acting as a safety net, and the waters sending Kakyoin further and further away from your spot, each second without breathing didn't go to waste as you fought against the Stand.
Karma Chameleon tried to heat the sea creatures, but her solid fist went straight through the liquid foe's body, they simply laughed as they tugged on your throat, strangling your neck to overpower you.

Absorbing the water around you, Karma Chameleon turns itself into a watery Stand form, much like the enemies surrounding her.
"KORESOREKORESORE!" Instead of hitting the enemies however, the dancer span around the sea monsters, making them lose their shape as the speed from your Stand was able to make artificial tides out of the shark's control.
You might not be able to kill water, but you can sure make it dissipate fairly easily.
With a tug at Hierophant Green, you were pulled back to the surface, being blessed by oxygen swiftly filling your lungs. But your happiness was ultimately short lived as the mermaids guided the boat into a Tsunami, the ship being completely engulfed by the gigantic wave.
"NO!" After seeing the ship being effortlessly crashed into pieces, the sea quickly subsided into peace again, with only the 3 Stand users and a couple of bruised fishermen holding onto the debris, appearing to be the only survivors from the crash, the remaining workers were either limp bodies floating around, or crushed under the wreckage.
"What a monster! He just took down the entire ship with no sweat! This is no pet fish we're dealing with!" Kakyoin said as he placed you next to some wood planks.
"He's still around here. The shark will come back to check for survivors, and that'll be the only chance we'll get at punching him down." Jotaro informed, summoning Star Platinum to his side. "Tell me, are any of you bleeding? Because if there's one thing that can pinpoint your location to a shark, it's blood."
"All Stand users shook their head, but the fishermen pointed out a few gashes on their arms, inviting the shark fora snack.
Weirdly enough, the small shark did show himself, but in the shape of a giant, watery octopus, using it's insides to drag the two of them down and mutilate them to pieces, not even giving them the courtesy of a last scream for help.

"I thought you said those things were small!" Aya shouted over to Jotaro.
"They are! See that fish hopping around inside the octopus? It's Kaigan-san. If we can somehow grab him when he lunges at us, we'll win the fight against him.
"And how are we supposed to do that?" Kakyoin asked, barely hanging onto dear life as he floated about in a life jacket.
"We have plenty of options, actually." Jotaro quickly brainstormed a way of outsmarting the shark, whatever the final idea turned out to be, it was only a matter of power and precision to effectively kill the shark when he was at his range, something which he hadplenty of.

>Cut yourself to attract the shark to you.
>Shoot him with Emerald Splash.
>Use Karma Chameleon to dive inside the octopus.
>Something else.
>>
>>3078590
ok, i have no good idea what to do

if we shoot him with emerald splash, we might attract him to us, we would have to overpower him, while his is in his most perfect habitat
ah fuck it
>Shoot him with Emerald Splash.
>>
>Use Karma Chameleon to dive inside the octopus.

Cutting ourselves will just cause Jaws to go full ham on us like he did to the fishermen. If we fuck up with the Emerald splash we'll just get him pissed.

I'd say have Hitomi grapple with him using Karma's water form to distract him, and have Jotaro and Kak on standby to strike the moment he gets in range.
>>
>>3078590
oh, shit, didn't realize you'd posted...
>Use Karma Chameleon to dive inside the octopus.
can we capture it somehow...? encase it in, like, rubber? covert it to rubber?

Speaking of rats, if Star Platinum and Crazy Diamond were capable of flicking bullets with enough accuracy to hit a small rat from several meters away in the anime (with plenty of good obstructing ground for a small rat to hide in), then Jotaro might have some surprisingly potent ranged options.

The shark has amazing smell and can sense electrical impulses out of the water, but doesn't work so well out of water. It only has its eyesight to rely on, which may be comparable to a farsighted human's.

We might be able to have Kakyoin conjure up some emeralds for Jotaro to throw at the Shark while Kakyoin bombards it at range. If this knocks it out of commission, great.

But this'll mainly be a distraction to give a hamon-charged liquid KC enough time to dive into the Octo-Stand and deliver a telling blow to the shark. We can't shock it with hamon from this range due to the immense volume of fluid, but it might be enough to overload the shark's senses if it gets close enough.
>>
>>3078607

Depends on how quickly KC can convert matter, really. But it'd be like trying to convert air into solid matter to trap a fast-moving target.
>>
>>3078615
>>3078590

that is acutally a great idea, lets try that and disregard my previous post>>3078602
>>
>>3078615

Correction: meant to say that instead Jotaro throwing the emeralds, it should be Star Platinum throwing them. Jotaro is a burly guy but he just can't compare with Star Platinum's precision and strength.

IF we wanted an insane idea, we could try and have KC transform into a blood KC. It'd hold the Hamon charge better and make the shark try and home in on KC, but we'd risk the frenzied stand/shark dispersing KC and rendering Hitomi unconscious since KC losing cohesion tends to take a big strain on Hitomi. This would be a Young Joseph-tier maneuver, which I'm not comfortable risking without plot armor.
>>
>>3078627
If it fails, we need to have it escape in a direction where we can catch it thogh... any plans for that?
>>
>>3078607

Let's see if this works, ROLL!
>>
>>3078630

That's the largest issue here. We need some way to make it cocky/interested enough to stick around. I'm banking on the shark being too distracted by the emerald bombardment from Start Platinum and Hierophant Green, and not knowing about Hamon and the charge being potent enough to affect it when KC divebombs it.

I suppose Jotaro could keep a few emeralds in reserve so he can stop time and have Star Platinum carry him closer, and then have Star Platinum throw emeralds in timestop to add some unpredictability to the projectiles too.
>>
>>3078615
>>3078627
Hitomi is crap at hamon now. I don't think she'll be able to convert Karma into a liquid state (which is difficult in the first place) AND hamon charge karma at the same time.

But I do like the idea of Jotaro and Kak distracting the shark while Hitomi goes in for the killing blow with liquid KC.

"Emerald Splash!" Kakyoin fired at the shark, but it's squid exterior blocked the rocks from hitting the animal Stand user.
"My Emerald Splash can't hit him deep enough to knock him out of the water!"
"Throw one emerald to me instead then!" Jotaro ordered.
"What?"
"He may be able to see the general direction of your shoots, but if I chuck one emerald at him hard enough when he's not expecting it, finishing him off will be a piece of cake."
"You and your plans, Jotaro... Alright, are you ready?"
"Shoot!"
"Emerald Splash!" Another batch of emeralds were easily intercepted by the stand, but in the midst of Kakyoin's barrage, an emerald was fired at the opposite direction, where Star Platinum pitched it right back to it's rightful target.
"ORA!" Thus, the shark was pushed right off it's liquid exoskeleton, but seeing as Karma Chameleon was still on her liquid form, she quickly captured the shark inside her own body, as it was the only part of the ocean he couldn't control.
"Smile you son of a bitch!" Her second row of hands emerged, being reconstructed by the shark's water Stand, but seeing as they were technically part of Hitomi's body, she managed to get proper control of her old hands, 6 years after being out of use ever since Diavolo tore her arms off.
"Wait, What the hell?! My hands grew back!" Hitomi shrieked as her luck streak in Morioh didn't seem to end, being unintentionally healed off by the enemy she was fighting against.
"I thought Stand injuries were psychological..." Aya quizzically commented.
"They are, which means..." Jotaro was surprised to see Karma's arms re-growing, even after Josuke and Tonio healed his wife exponentially, they were never sure if her arms would go back to the way they were, but a single misguided attack from a bullhead fish managed to prove Morioh not only helped Hitomi heal her body, but her state of mind.

"I almost feel bad for having to kill him now... It's almost too good to be true..." Hitomi was sure they would have to kill the shark once he was capture, but after his accidental push to leave her Stand back to normal, she was starting to reconsider.

>Kill the shark

Animal stand-users have human-level intellect. This shark might have been resentful of being kept in an aquarium for most of its life, but it could have just swam into the deeper waters and lived out the rest of its days as an apex predator with a huge brain and formidable stand powers.

But it didn't. It didn't even try to run away to deeper waters where nobody could have found it. It purposefully stayed around Morioh's coasts and intentionally hunted and sadistically murdered innocent human beings after it gained the means to free itself. The fact that its stand form gloated at Hitomi after trying to drown her means that it knew what it was doing.

Just because it accidentally did Hitomi a favor by helping her get over her mental hang-ups doesn't mean it deserves another chance to ruin more lives and break more families. It is as accountable as any other human being who has done the same thing.
>>
>>3078747
>human-level intellect
Honestly I think intellect varies depending on the animal and its personality. Sure Iggy and that monkey stand had human level intellect, but Stray Cat was still pretty much a cat and Pet Shop wasn't as 'human' as Iggy though he put up a mean fight.

Also
>Hunting
Its a shark, and a small one at that. Hunting and picking off weak prey is pretty much what they do anyway even with their animal level intelligence. It's not like granting it a stand suddenly turned it from a pacifist to a mass murderer
>>
>>3078747

"So how rare are bullhead sharks?"
"They're very common, actually. I don't think killing this little guy would make a huge impact."
"Well in this case..." You closed your hands on Karma Chameleon's stomach appearing to have killed the shark, but in reality you were actually transforming your stomach into a glass aquarium for him to stay still.
"We can't let him out in the ocean if he'll keep attacking everyone. Let's just leave him in captivity."
"You sure about this? He killed every fisherman here!"
"He's a predator, right? I'd say giving him a power boost was the problem, his attitude would have been to kill the weak anyway. Just because he has a Stand doesn't exactly mean he got an IQ on the double digits. Seal him on the Speedwagon Foundation, maybe he could still be useful."
"Alright, but if any staff goes suddenly missing I'm blaming him on the spot!" Jotaro reluctantly accepted, making sure his wife was well aware of the consequences.
"So... Now that this's been taken care of... How do we get back to the shore?" Aya asked, worried about drowning a second time.

A few hundred of meters later, the group arrived back in Morioh, isolated the threat and went back to Akira Otoishi's cell to get a few more answers.
"Akira, how the fuck did you hit a shark with the arrow?" Jotaro tapped on his cell's bars.
"Oh, I accidentally dropped it on the water and lost it for a day." Akira confessed. "When I went out for scuba diving a few hours later, it was stuck under a shark, who was pierced on coral reef along with her eggs.
"So Kaigan-San's a girl... Good grief, Akira! Even when you're out of jail you're still a pain in the ass. Don't ever use your Stand or get involved in Stand fights again, you hear me!" Jotaro intimidated the guitar player with one of his trademark shouts.
"EEEEP! Of course, Jotaro-San! I'll behave!" Akira pleaded for mercy.
"Good to hear, you can go back to beating the shit out of him, Keicho."
"With pleasure!" Keicho stood up from his bed, going back to bully his prey.
"NOOOOO!"
"All that's left now is to find that stray rat and the russian performer, and then we're done." You told Jotaro.
"The Foundation actually found out who she was, she's a circus acrobat who goes by the name of Valeriya, she'll have a show in Morioh in a few weeks from now so we can save that for last." Jotaro was happy to tell. "Do you mind taking care of the rat for me?"
"Sure, but why can't you join me?"
"Avdol told me he was going for a walk with Rohan to take care of something, I need to be on his beck and call in case that hack of a mangaka tries something funny."
"No worries, I guess we can go rest back in the hotel for the day. Where did Kakyoin and Aya go?"
"Hey guys, do you mind if I spend the night out with Aya? I feel like we haven't bonded properly on that trip, you know?" Kakyoin blushed as the hair salon owner tugged at his shoulder, happy to know their flirting finally went somewhere

Keicho's not beating Akira that hard, he's merely making sure he behaves in prison, they both want to go be released earlier for good behavior. Since Okuyasu and Shigechi are bound to meet up his bro will probably pay the bail for him once they share the lottery money tho.
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about that plan.

"Good morning, is Josuke home?" You asked Ryohei Higashikata after reaching his grandson's house. Despite not knowing who you were, it only took a scratch to the head and a squint of the eyes for him to call Josuke.
"Josuke! There's a teenager in a noir film's outfit calling you outside!" The officer announced to the inside of his home.
"What? I don't know anyone my age who wears that sort of stuff-- Ah, It's Hitomi-san." Forgetting you didn't look twice his age, Josuke simply ignored Ryohei's comments.
"You free today?"
"Yeah, let's go for a walk." Josuke followed you around as you guided him around Morioh.
"What did you want to talk about? Is it about the arrow again?" Josuke placed his arms above his head, yawning as he waited for you to respond.
"We're hunting today. I just need to remember the place." You skimmed through Jotaro's notes about wild rats, seeing if you could find anything that would make your search easier.

"Huh? Wait a sec, Hitomi-san! Did you just say hunting? Don't tell me..." Josuke tensed up, pausing his speech for dramatic effect.
"...We're gonna be hunting down some chicks with nice bodies? I'm more of a pure love kind of guy, so I don't know if I can do it... I never tried this sort of thing before. Wait, does Jotaro know you're coming with me?! What if he gets the wrong idea... HITOMI-SAN! ARE YOU PLANNING ON CHEATING ON JOTARO-SAN!?"
Yep, he completely missed the mark.

"What!? No Josuke! We're hunting a rat and his Stand! I would never cheat on Jotaro! I'm not even into girls, idiot!" You get defensive after hearing Josuke's blatantly false claims.
"Sorry, Sorry! I got the wrong message!" Josuke apologetically bowed down for his misunderstanding.
"How did you even make that connection?"
"It's how the students talk about dating on campus, I heard about it when I was having lunch with Okuyasu!"
"Bah, fine. Let's just get on with it." You put that awkward conversation behind you and keep marching on, showing him the notes Jotaro gave you.

"Akira Otoishi tested the arrow on a brown rat near an irrigation canal. Brown rats can swim, live where they want and eat anything. They can weigh up to a kilogram and are usually 20-30 centimeters long. Since you both have close ranged Stands, it'll be hard to catch a rat if he spots you from afar, but these metal bearings should increase your range by about 20 meters. If the rat notices you're after him, he'll run. You won't get any more shots if you miss, so make them count" Josuke reads the note out loud.
"There's also a picture of his paws and a few mouse traps on my bag, he wanted us to be prepared." You replied.
"Maybe we're TOO prepared, Jotaro is always so far ahead on his plans it makes me feel pressured... Good thing you're the one who came along or I'd e too nervous to focus--"
"Good Grief, Josuke! You need to be focused, grab these pellets and hit them as hard as you can." You combed your hair to mimic Jotaro's hat and did your best Kujo impression, making Josuke flinch in surprise.
"Y-Yes sir!" Josuke piled a few soda cans on a nearby fence and tried flicking the bearings on them from a distance, but the shots only grazed by the cans.

>Wait for Josuke to hit a shot.
>Instruct him on getting better aim.

"Almost there! Dang it! Come on, hit!" Josuke wasted a good amount of bullets before getting the hang of pellet flicking, piercing soda cans consistently and without wasting any ammo.
"Not bad, huh? How many pellets are left?" Josuke gave a thumbs up after perfecting his aim.
"8. And I didn't even get to try it out before you." You nagged.
"Aww... That's just great..."
"I do have an alternative for the pellets, but I don't think they'll be as effective... Hya!" You used your Hamon to connect some particle fragments to the tin can, but your aim was even more off than Josuke's.
"Guess we're better off using Jotaro's arsenal. Let's get to the canal and we'll set up the mousetraps." You guided Josuke along the sewage, where a trail matching the one in the photo caught your attention.
"4 digits on the front paws, 5 on the back ones. Yeah, that's thee brown rat we're looking for, grab the traps." You instructed Josuke on what to do next, but instead he decided to sniff the bait.
"What are those? Tempura crumbs? I thought rats liked cheese. OW!" Josuke failed on setting the spring loaded trap and accidentally triggered it on his fingers.
"You're watching too much Mickey Mouse, kiddo. No need to get fancy with cheese when rats eat just about everything." You help Josuke get his finger off the spring lid. The boy, now with the trap ready, decided to place it on the tall grass, where a group of flies kept buzzing around.
"Look at those flies... what's in here? A dead crow?" Josuke pulled the grass aside, holding back his puke when he found out what it was.

It was a flesh cube, filled with about a dozen rat corpses inside, their blood solidified in a jelly-like state. The rodent's heads, tails, limbs were sticking out from the mush, dripping blood as it jiggled against the wind.

"Ew... Now there's something I'm not touching with my hands naked..." Despite being used to gore coming from your field and fights, this was on a whole other level.
"What do you even to to leave behind a corpse like this?" Josuke left the grass as it was before.
"Ugh, Jotaro should be paying me for this, let me check." You approached the cube for a sitrep, seeing if you could satiate Josuke's curiosity.
"Interesting, this is all made of muscle tissue... Their flesh were melted once, then hardened again after they were killed. I don't see how a rat would do this if it weren't for a Stand. Let's see if he laid more cubes around these parts."
"You want to see more of those? Man... I picked the wrong day to have a full meal..." Josuke tried smelling out the scent of dead rats, leading him to the drainage channel.
"Urgh... Another one here! Can I cover my nose now?" He pointed over the entrance, which was covered with rat flesh plastered on the walls.
"Inside the pipes? Hold on, where does that lead to?" You were alerted after seeing what the rat could to his own species. If he can do this with so many rats, a regular human shouldn't be that harder for him to kill.
"Right on that farm over there." Josuke grabbed a pair of binoculars from Jotaro's Biologist Bag™. "The coop's empty, door's open, and no one's around."

"He must have already killed the farmers, then. Let's see if we can find any leads there..." You both climbed over the pipes, sneaking into the farmhouse with caution.
"It's a 2 store building, there are plenty of places where he could be hiding... Now where should we look for first?" Josuke asked for directions.
"I'll check on the first floor bathrooms and the attic. You can keep an eye on the kitchen in case he shows up for a snack." You told Josuke.
"On it, just give me a shout if you see him!"
"I can't shout! It might scare him away."
"Oh, right... Still, be safe out there." Josuke gave you 4 pellets and summoned Crazy Diamond, examining every inch of the living room and the staircase.

It's not rare to see a rat waltzing around on a dirty bathroom, so looking for the filthiest places should be the most logical option.
"All clear, literally speaking. Let's see if this place's rat free too..." You opened up the the sink drawers, looked under the curtains, even above the mirror, but no mice were found on that bathroom, there was another one on the other end of the hallway, but that bathroom also didn't have any traces of rodents.
"Finally, you had the bedroom: Also devoid of life, but crouching down to check under the bed, you could notice a few, tiny brown spots along with the dusty floor.
"That's rat poop... Judging by how clean the place is, the farmers must have been hit pretty recently..."
*SQEEEEAK*
*Bam*
"Whoa!" You heard a mechanic, pistol-like sound coming from headboard, which you only managed to dodge by Karma Chameleon instinctively pushing you off the trajectory.

"You're welcome!" Karma tapped you on the head for the save, gesturing you to pay attention to the Stand attacking you on the other side of the bed.
And there he was, the Stand bearing rat, sporting a machine resembling a shield with a camera lens in the middle and two supporting legs with a cannon in its back, preparing to fire a dart on your direction.
Observing the wooden floor corroding into a small hole as even it started to melt by the powerful sniper.
Judging by the noises it's making, it's trying to reload, which will give you enough time to pull out the pellets and squish the rat's brain it, but what about the dart he's firing?

You juggle the 4 pellets you have on your 4 arms to confuse the rat and fire 2 of them at the same time the rat fired it's own shot, and while he was able to dodge the two balls, one of them ricocheted on the wall and hit him on the side, tearing a few of his spine joints, which would in theory make it harder for him to squeeze through small holes.
As for the shot coming from the cannon stand, you ducked under it so the dart could fly straight out he window, hearing the sound of glass shattering from behind you, Karma caught most of the glass shards on her hands, but a few minor ones managed to fall past her hands and give you some small cuts.
Taking the opportunity to leave while you were distracted, the wounded rat skedaddled out of the room, his Stand corner peeking you from the hallway.
"Hitomi-san! I found him!" Josuke shouted from the 1st floor kitchen. That can't be right, you're already facing the rat here.
"Oh come on! Two of them? Get a hobby, Akira!" You cursed the inmate as if he was right in front of you, side stepping to the doorway to pursuit the rat.
*Bang Bang Bang*

The firing darts made you close the bedroom door, effectively blocking the next few shots until the furniture started giving out. As you felt the hinges going rusty and it's bolts dropping to the floor, the only thing that was keeping that distorted wood plank you once called a door standing were your fingers.
"Metal! Maybe a bigger metallic object might tank his darts!" You searched around something Karma Chameleon could absorb, removing the doorknob from your door before the corrosion could destroy the metal and handing it out to Karma.
"Let's hope this works... the doorknob hole might just have given him a place to aim at, but I can also use it an aiming reticle." You stuck Karma's hand out with the 2 remaining pellets on her palms, preparing for another shootout as the rat fired another shot.

>Block the dart with the door.

>>Dodge the dart and crush him under the door.

>Get closer to the doorway and give him a stomp.

The door is on its last legs, I doubt i'll do much damage or block many hits. Hitomi's not a ranged fighter so its gonna be hard for her to get a hit on the rat.

On the other hand Karma is metal now, so a stomp will hurt if it connects.

we need to wait for it to fire, maybe give it something to aim at? can we use one of those glass shards to make a reflection of ourselves to fool it into shooting that through the hole?

then we could try either crushing with the door by converting it to metal as well or stomping it.

Adjusting the door so it could fit on the door hole, you side step to the hallway so you could get closer to his range, he fired a straight shot under your feet, to which you easily dodged just by being in movement, but what you didn't expect was the dart bouncing off from the floor and hitting your back.
"Hgn! Now you've done it! But now that I'm facing you again..."
"KORE!"
You pushed the door against the rat, the rodent thought it would fall on him, but instead you chose to flip it sideways, obstructing his passage except for the tiny hole on the doorknob.
"Usually, a rat would have had no trouble squeezing inside that small crack, but since just broke your extra spine joints, contorting your body to sneak in there is physically impossible for you to escape! Which means..."
"SORE!" A final stomp on the rat's head delivered by Karma Chameleon severed the mouse in half, his guts splattering on the door as his Stand dissipated into the air.
"The rat plague's been dealt with!" You were a few seconds away from commemorating your victory, if it weren't for the dripping sound coming from your back, the sharp pain from the shot's poison rippling through your veins as it spread to your body.
You collapsed to the ground, breaking what was left of your wooden shield, you felt your muscle tissue starting to melt as your flesh was severed from the inside out, solidifying when in contact with room temperature.
You laid 5 meters away from the staircase, where Josuke might be able to aid you, but the silence you've heard from the first floor ever since you killed your rat is concerning to say the least...

"JOSUKEEE!"You temporarily turned your body into a metal statue, intercepting the dart melting so your body could hold still, even if it meant paralyzing your movements.
"Cool, all I gotta do is wait for him to show up..."
You didn't hear any footsteps from the staircase, so you shouted for him again.
"Josuke! I need a hand here!" For some reason he didn't respond. Why isn't he...
Hold on a second. He said he found another rat downstairs, if this one got hold of you after firing so many shots, than Josuke...
Is this going to be your fate? Stuck as a head alone in a farm until you starve to death? Maybe you could just speed things up and petrify your internal organs for a quick, painless death. Oh, the horror-

"You called?" Josuke jumped up the stairs and healed you with Crazy Diamond, along with fixing the destroyed door and the broken glass window.
"What took you so long?"
"I was taking care of that other rat, he went down pretty easy, but then I saw the farmers inside the fridge on a flesh cube. They were still alive, so I managed to turn them back to normal and let the old couple rest on the sofa, if we sneak away they might not even know we were here... Why are you so sweaty?"
"Oh, nothing. My mind just tends to go to dark places when I leave things up to the imagination..." You brushed him aside. "Why don't we celebrate our job well done with a good snack when we get back home?"
"I don't know about you, but after what I saw today? I kinda lost my appetite..."
"Come on, the arrows's dealt with, and unless Akira has a THIRD pet rat he didn't inform us about, all we have to do is wait for the Russian girl to show up and I'll be back to my job! I mean, I think the Foundation can find the second arrow here no problem, and with all the dangerous criminals in Morioh incarcerated, what else is there for us to worry?"
