HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=stranded+mech+quest

Information pastebin: https://pastebin.com/vSXCNHAQ

You are Captain Alex, Proxima Aquarii Federation, 4th Fringe Machine Infantry. When heading to a routine exercise, you and your mech ended up somewhere other than outside the backwater base on a polluted world you called home.

(You are also Crew Boss Levi, a mechanic in charge of repairs to Alex's mech. You are also Miriam Arteth, a member of the elite nobility of the Meran Empire.)

Now you're stuck in a world that's verdant, green, and full of life, where people use 'magic' and gods rule. You were pretty sure it was a sophisticated LARPer's personal planet, but Mirna, from the Apha Centauri Conglomerate has stated otherwise.

You are an ace pilot, the elite of mech operators, and you pilot the Newt, a durable and quick military mech.

You are currently located at Port Haller.

It appears Levi's efforts to secure workers for the colony have been largely successful, as a team of 10 dwarves has arrived. There was also an addition of 6 orcs that arrived in a makeshift truck with ludicrously high suspension.

>greenhouse workers added
>ore processing workers added

Admiral Haller has been largely helpful in organizing the colony, although he's made it clear that he will not be accompanying you on your adventures. Someone will need to stay behind to defend the colony in case the Meran Empire discovers the colony.

Both Hummingbird and Newt are set to mobilize. The Blyat could also be used if you wish, though you'll have to travel slowly.

The colony has been picking up electrical signals on the long-range scanners coming from the wastelands. Hilda informs you that the wastes are past the mountains, on the other side of the desert.

the wastes would be cool to check out, i've been interested in them for quite a while, but on the other hand, building the colony up could be nice as well, after that we could continue exploring, without worrying about the colony's stability without us babysitting it, essentially making it self sufficient without us there.
ultimately my vote is to go with majority.

You decide the pieces of those mechs from the battle you claimed this colony with in the first place are worth looking into and collecting. However you are neither a tech expert, mechanic, nor do you have a mech meant for salvage operations.

Regardless, you decide to try your hand at reclaiming parts for your use later.

On searching through what is largely scrap metal and armor plating, you managed to recover an intact diagnostics system. With a research team, you could probably get a lot of information out of this! Maybe even mech schematics!

However most of your findings appear to be parts of the mechs that are incompatible for any of your tech.

>what do you do?
>>
>>3091321

hmmm bwtween the parts and the schematics, we might be able to assmble a mech at a later date.

You take the parts you can back to the colony. With these materials, perhaps mech research can occur once you have the people for it? Regardless, it appears there is little you can do at this time.

You decide to browse the armory. Your federation-issue blaster is all that can fit in your holster, although you decide to look over the weapons offered.

There is a pistol identified as "Sturmdrache" You have no clue what it does, though it appears to utilize voltaic properties.

The next is a core-world pistol called an "Eviscerator Type 6." You've heard of such weapons, which project a cluster of hardlight razors that fire at a foe.

A familiar sight, a Scatterblaster, an old standby for any intergalactic empire, this weapon is ideal for close quarters, with its spread fire and perforating properties.

Lastly is a relic from history, a Freedom pattern rifle. The bulky recycler battery protruding from one side like a drum magazine, the Freedom had seen fighting on countless worlds as an easily mass-produced core-world assault rifle. Nothing was quite as recognizable as the seared injuries produced by this laser weapon.

Regrettably, carrying all of these weapons is not feasible. You could, however, add a pistol or a larger gun to your outfit.

>what do you choose?
>>
>>3091690

The Core World's little hardlight pistol appears to be your best choice. After looking it over a while, it seems it'd take more scientific minds to make this a pocket shotgun instead of the manslicer it currently is.

Regardless, the pistol's safety is kept on as you latch it onto your belt. Now that you've improved your weaponry, Levi does the same, taking the rifle instead.

Better equipped for things ahead, your mech stands ready to head out into the unknown.

You make for the wastes, but first is crossing the shallow sea. Beyond that is the iceworm glacier and the mountains, but then the desert awaits.

Your mech trudges through the shallow waters while the Hummingbird hovers behind. The warm air of the shallow sea has little effect on the climate-controlled mech interior.

With no interruptions you are able to reach the mountains. The glacier is calm, the iceworms here are possibly busy or avoiding you. Although Mirna's old mech still sits here intact with the colossal mech's wreckage.

"Shame we don't have the Iowa, we could fetch these... luckily the ice will preserve the wrecks."
