We play as Percival Williams a socially awkward Pokémaniac with a knack for communicating with Pokémon.
He's on his way to become a professional trainer and find his calling in life.

Your team so far consists of:
Houndour
Mimikyu
Loudred
Vulpix (Alolan)
“Prince” (Elekid)

Traveling partners:

Kadabra: A teleporting friend.
Eli: A punkish girl who aims to be the next regional Pokémon champion
Gareth: 20 something college dropout who’s starting his Journey a bit too late

Status:
-Helping out a murderous psychic entity that visits our brain from time to time.
30 days before the fall of Adage Village.
Last time:
Percival met the QUEEN, a Vespiquen who controlled the Bug-type Pokémon living in the Croaking Marsh. In an attempt to get her to release the trainers and people she had abducted without a fight, Percy convinced the Gym Leader to call off the raid that was planned to capture her and free everyone of her control. This decision got the Gym Leader fired and the population of the village upset, while the QUEEN plans to invade the town in a month.
After being temporarily banned from the Gym, until the new Gym Leader arrives, Percival continues his journey, now heading towards the Water Gym located in Lacrimosa Bay. Currently, our Pokémaniac and his group are deep in the mountains surrounding Adage Village.

Night is falling, the wind is surprisingly chilly at this altitude, taking a deep breath you bask in the smells of nature. It’s great invigorating feeling, that makes you forget for a moment all the things that transpired these last two days.

After a long trek, with the help of some Gogoat, Percy and co, are halfway through the mountain. They’ve been setting up camp after finding a good enough spot to rest, tomorrow morning you should be back onto the main road.

Eli is setting up the tents, while Gareth makes a makeshift alarm with DrillBreaker’s *string-shot* and some empty cans. The alarm will alert you of anything approaching the camp. You’ll be taking turns to act as a guard, since the mountains are unsurprisingly filled with wild mons, including nocturnal predators.

With your fire-starting supplies, you quickly got a campfire going on, Mimikyu is ready to make some dinner for both the trainers and the mons. He has forbidden you to cook for others for the time being, at least until your cooking improves enough to be consistently harmless.

Since you are the only one who's got a hatchet, you decided to get some firewood for the camp with Loudred’s help. Unfortunately, you have no idea of how to use a effectively hatchet, and your arms are too weak and feeble to properly chop up wood, so you end up getting your hatchet stuck in the wood. Thankfully, Loudred is here to help, breaking down the tree with her fists, and chopping it up in a series of strikes.

Before you return to camp, you notice something, there’s another bonfire nearby, but you can’t distinguish how many people are there.

You consider going over there, but even though you feel a bit more confident when dealing with people you still aren’t the best at social situations, also, what if the people there are a troublesome bunch? They could be like the Arsonist, or a bunch of punks like the ones you fought earlier, or revolutionaries hiding here in in the mountains, or a serial killer hunting down teenagers camping here, or even worse, Kali.

>Let’s go back to camp and inform everyone there’s somebody else close by.
>Let’s take a quick peek and return to camp. (Needs roll for sneaking)
>Let’s make our presence noticeable and introduce ourselves, in a probably awkward manner.
>Other/ write-in.

Welcome back QM, I was earnestly waiting.
>>Let’s make our presence noticeable and introduce ourselves, in a probably awkward manner.

>Don't be poke-shy, Shuckle hide in their shells to ward up predators, and hide from them to seem like a rock, sometimes I want to hide like Shuckle, but it's better to wiggle around and talk to others.

You decide to not pry further and return to camp with the others.
Whoever made that campfire, it’s most likely that it’s just another trainer on their journey, it’s summer after all.
You’ll definitely tell the others once you get back. Just to be on the safe side of things.

You return to camp after some minutes of walking, helping Loudred carry some of the wood. You are careful to not step on the *String-shot* that Gareth set up around the perimeter.

Dinner is almost ready, Mimikyu was just waiting for you to get some more firewood. Gareth is helping him out, with some minor things, but unlike you he seems to actually know what he’s doing. He seems to know a thing or two about cooking. “You can’t live only eating Hot-Pockets and sugary cereal, I learned that the hard way.”

After finishing everything up, everyone comes together for dinner. The walk here from Adage Village has worked up an appetite on everyone, the pasta Mimikyu lovingly prepare is wolfed down by you and your companions. Mimikyu seems proud of himself as he starts to serve up seconds.

[Eli]: Man, what a waste of time. Two days here and no badge, not even a bounty!

[Gareth]: Eh, it wasn’t so bad, I’m not a fan of the outdoors, but the air here is great for SandRider, he’s not coughing nor wheezing as much, he can even battle without damaging himself!

[Percy]: We can always come back, besides two days lost aren’t too bad, we still got 11 weeks left.

[Eli]:I’m just sayin, I would have steamrolled the Gym. If blondie could, then it would have been a piece of cake for me.

[Percy]: Kali got the badge?

[Eli]:Yeh, I’m kinna salty about that. Dude, you ok?

[Percy]:….Perfectly fine.

The idea of Kali having one more badge than you makes you really mad for some reason. You are trying to not show it, but it seems that it’s obvious for everyone around. Probably because you are growling in anger, like a Mightyena, cursing her name.
>>
>>3122378
Noticing your discomfort, Gareth changed the subject of the conversation towards cooking, and you managed to calm yourself down. He had to learn to do it, once he started to live on his own, but never got too into it, Eli can relate, since she's been doing most of her own meals from a young age. "Can't cook any of that good fancy shit, but I can do some Mac n cheese."

Before you know it, you plate is cleaned off once again and dinner is over.

Kadabra and Houndour are busying teaching Prince how to play *Old Maid* and other card games, Kadabra thinks he needs some intellectual stimuli outside of battling. Also, he wants to teach him how to bluff, so he can work on retaining his composure during battles. And Houndour insists on being there since he seems to feel responsible for Prince’s training.

Gareth bought marshmallows and is currently roasting them in the campfire. While Eli is currently in overseeing an arm-wrestling competition between Tremor and Jaws, Loudred soons joins in, she wants to go against the winner.

Gareth is up first to watch over the camp, then you are next during the middle of the night, and finally Eli acts as a guard on the early hours of the morning.

What should you do for the night?
>Hang out with Gareth, let’s roast some marshmallows together.
>Let’s approach Eli and her mons. Maybe get into some arm-wrestling.
>Wait until Eli’s done with the arm wrestling, and chill with her and Gareth over the bonfire.

>Join Kadabra, Houndour and Prince in their card games.

The three mons are busying themselves playing cards with the deck Kadabra usually carries with him, seeing them play reminds you of the time you spent with your Poké.friends back on the city

Houndour is laying on the ground zealously guarding his cards, growling menacingly as Prince slowly reaches for a card, the electric type has a fearful and nervous expression.

Kadabra oversees them, analytical and serious.

[Kadabra]: It is necessary to be so hostile while playing?

[Houndour]: He needs to stop being so afraid and act! Now, take the card fast, I’ll bite your hand if you take too long!

[Prince]: P-p-please don’t bite me, Sir.

[Kadabra]: He needs to learn how to keep himself calm first, your mere presence already puts him on the edge, intimidating him is a tad too much.

[Percy]: Mind if I play a game or two with you guys?

You sit down with the trio of mons, Prince seems reassured by your presence, Houndour doesn’t seem to mind your presence too much, but Kadabra, his eyes show fear, and with good reason. In games about bluffing and reading your opponent, specially your Poké-friends, you are simply too good. At least when you are playing against a Pokémon.

[Kadabra]: Percival, go easy on Prince, he’s just a beginner.

[Percy]: Kadabra, you should know already, when we play this sort of games. I play to win.

[Kadabra]: You wouldn’t be thinking about that doing *THAT* here? Wouldn’t you?

[Percy]: (Snickering ominously) Not this time, there would be no fun in such an easy victory. But I think Houndour is right, Prince needs to learn how to work under pressure.

You decide to save *THAT* for another occasion.

Standing tall, looming over Prince, deep growls coming from your mouth.

[Prince]: Pops? What are you doing?

[Percy]: (Growling) It’s time to play! GROAAAAAR

[Percy]: (Growling intensifies.)

[Prince]: P-p-pa you are scaring me.

[Percy]: That’s the idea! Conquer your fears!

Prince is shaken, your impression of Ursaring is pretty good. Not to brag about it, it’s just the truth you spent countless hours perfecting your Poké-interpretation! You even skipped the Winter formal of last year to really get Ursaring right. Not like you had somebody to go with anyways.
So, you stayed back, alone, in your room, roaring to no one. At least your Poké-friends came to cheer you up with snacks they stole from the event. It was a pretty good night.
----------------------------

At the same time, without you noticing, two trainers and their teams are roasting marshmallows. Loudred get the most, since she won against both Tremor and Jaws in the arm-wrestling competitions. They are observing their traveling companion, who’s currently growling wildly and incomprehensibly while stomping the ground.

[Gareth]: What do you think he is doing?

[Eli]: I dunno, maybe he’s scaring predators away?

[Gareth]: Maybe he’s inviting them to a Poker tournament.

[Eli]: Yeah, that’s sounds more like weirdo.

[Prince]: A-A-ALL RIGHT! I’ll do it!

In a quick motion, Elekid snatches one of the cards from your hand, he was finally able to move! You can still see he is nervous and a bit fearful, but at the very least, he’s starting to pay attention to his opponents as he plays.

The match has quickly turned into one of analytic skill, bluffing and deception. Houndour tries to keep looking mad and hostile while intimidating Prince further, you do the same, roaring at him at every opportunity, but even though his nervousness hasn’t gone away, he won’t stop playing.

You are on the outlook for Kadabra trying to read your mind. Houndour has trouble handling the cards with his paws but won’t accept help from Kadabra with his Psychic powers. “I can do it on my own! There’s no need for you to get all of your mind energy over my cards.” Kadabra just shrugs.

You’ve successfully managed to get rid of the Joker card twice this game, but you still have more cards than Kadabra, with Houndour close behind you. Prince, being the first time he plays, has a bit more trouble.

Stealing glances at your opponents, you start to read their subtle expressions as they eye their cards. The game is just starting to get interesting!

>Prince isn't intimidated as easily as before, being able to act even when he is nervous.

Time to roll the dice.
Beat your opponent’s rolls to measure your perceptive skills.

83: Second place!
>Houndour: 99-10= 89, first place.

Houndour is the first one to get rid of all his cards, being surprisingly good at the game. He learned how to read Kadabra in a seemingly short amount of time, always watchful, his years hunting and battling another wild Pokémon may had something to do with it. But is not only that…

[Percy]: His nose! He’s been sniffing this entire time!

[Kadabra]: Huh?!

[Prince]: What? How does smelling someone makes you good at cards?

[Houndour]: So, you noticed partner. As expected of you!

[Houndour]:I can’t do any of that mind-reading, but I know how to read a prey, with all of my senses. Kadabra may keep a serious expression all the time. But whenever he got the joker, he started to sweat!

Kadabra and Prince are taken aback, incredulous at Houndour explanation.

[Kadabra]: My sweat gave me away… How could this be?

[Prince]: B-b-but that doesn’t make any sense! No matter how good your nose is, you couldn’t possibly detect a change so subtle only by sniffing

[Percy]: It’s not regular sniffing. It’s… *ODOR SLEUTH*!

[Kadabra]: *ODOR SLEUTH*? But, when did you learn it?
[Houndour]: It was just a matter of time, when we were searching for Percy I honed my sense of smell trying to locate him, even though I couldn’t find him at first, I realized I learned something new. Something I’ve been improving little by little until I mastered it tonight. My new move *ODOR SLEUTH! *
[Prince, Percy & Kadabra]: (Gasping in awe)

>Houndour has learned *Odor Sleuth*.

After a couple more games, you and your friends are exhausted. You get in your tent as Gareth prepares for his shift as a guard.

You had a pleasant dream, of reading a Pokémon Encyclopedia alongside a small blonde girl dressed in yellow and her Mareep, but you don’t remember anything else.

Gareth wakes you up, you are next for the night. The older trainer hurries to his sleeping bag to get some rest. You are now sitting alone in the middle of the night, wary of any sound or shadow creeping in the night. You feel as if there was something watching you from far away, but it may be just your paranoia.

[Mimikyu]: Master, for you.

You have no idea where he came from, but the small ghost type suddenly appeared by your side, offering you some coffee, it took you by surprise. He used *Mimic* to copy Houndour’s *Ember* and kept it warm for you.

[Percy]:Thanks Mimikyu.

You scratch his back lightly, over his rag while you drink the coffee, he’s elated. You spend the night chatting with the little ghost type who’s keeping you company and helping him fix his costume. You have no idea of how to sew, but you can at least hold his fake head in place to make the job easier.

Last time you let Victoria posses you to tamper with Pokémon corpses you could notice Mimikyu’s discomfort and frustration, he was pretty mad at you when you revealed to your team that you let her stay in your head. He was by far, the angriest at you.
Even though he hasn’t voiced his opposition to it anymore, you can feel that he’s not completely ok with this.
[Percy]: Hey Mimikyu, I wanted to ask you something, about you know, the girl in my head.

[Mimikyu]: Master, are you speaking literally or figuratively? Because if it’s dating advise….

[Percy]:Literally, I know you don’t like the idea, but I think this is the best way to help her, and I wanted to make sure you are alright with that.

[Mimikyu]: Master, I’d accepted that your helpful nature will probably jeopardize your health in the near future, multiple times. And I’m fine with that, it’s who you are, and I would never wish to change you.

[Mimikyu]: But I won’t stop being mad at you. Not until she’s no longer a threat to you. And I definitely won’t stop worrying about you until you return home, safe and sound. And even there, I’ll continue to look over your shoulder.

[Percy]: I’m sorry, for continuing to put myself in life threatening situations, you deserve a better trainer.

[Mimikyu]: I’ll accept the apology, but only that. You are the only Master I would serve, nothing would change that.

>Mimikyu accepted your apology. You feel a bit closer to the spooky mon.

A thought wanders through your head, once your journey is over, and after the league is done, what will it be for your mons? Houndour wants to become a pack leader, Vulpix is probably thinking about returning home once everything is over, and Prince, he has responsibilities as the successor of the Yellow King. Kadabra is probably going to stay in North Pass city like he’s always done.
It’s a sad thought, the idea that you all may not be together once everything ends, even if you can visit them from time to time. But what about Loudred and Mimikyu? The two of them don’t have a place they could call home. Maybe, they would like to stay with you.

[Percy]: Hey Mimikyu, another thing….

Before you can start, you hear the cans Gareth set up for the alarm clunking, somethings has approached the camp. You stand up and tell Mimikyu to get ready for anything. The darkness of the night makes it nigh-impossible to distinguish what is approaching, or from where it’s coming.
[1/2]
>>
>>3124120
You and Mimikyu get ready to retaliate against whatever is coming, be it Pokémon, serial killer, thief, pervert or whatever!
But the truth is much worse.
The figure slowly creeps near the camp, it’s humanoid, slender, feminine. She smells strangely pleasant for being a person camping in the mountains. You are about to scream for the others before you can hear her shushing you.
Standing in front of you there’s a blonde girl dressed in blue, she seems a little off.

[Percy]: What are you doing here Kali? Can’t you see we are having a heart to heart? What? You’ve come here to rub your Gym Badge in my face?
[Kali]: *Shush*

The girl shuts you up, softly covering your lips with her finger as she draws closer to you. Her palm turns to your cheek, caressing it softly.

You are super scared right now.

Meddlesome Girl

Various years ago
Madeleine town.

There’s an ample house located at the edge of town, it’s has an old-fashioned look, like most things in this place. A wooden fence marks the lands that belongs to the owners, in the pastures there’s various berry trees and Pokémon inside the fence.
Steel types, and slow Pokémon with hard shells, there’s an obvious difference between them and the Pokémon native to the town surroundings.

A small girl dressed in yellow, wearing a straw hat a bit too big for her gets near the fence to say hello to the beasts nearby. Accompanying the girl is her friend Mareep, a small wooly creature.

Despite their ferocious looks, all the Pokémon that live in this old house are pretty-friendly, a Steelix is the first one to get near her, lowering his head so he can see the girl more clearly. The little girl rubs the front of his head with care, like the boy showed her.

She used to fear the Pokémon that roamed around the house, their battle-hardened looks, imposing size and strength where too much for her, but the boy showed her that there’s nothing to fear. He approached them with a certain naturality, as if they were family. No, that’s the wrong way to put it, since the boy has never been close to his relatives, treating them with utmost indifference at best.

And old familiar figure approaches the girl, the old lady was just feeding the Pokémon. “Good morning Nana!” The girl is quick to greet the woman, even though they share not a drop of blood, she has always seen her as family.

“Hello Jeanne, ready to try again I see” the old lady responds cheerfully, even if it’s just a childish game, she really hopes that the girl will manage to get the boy to open up to her, or at the very least.

“Yup! Today I got a failproof plan!” The girl responds eagerly and excited. The old woman directs her to his grandson, “Percy is near the woods, on the usual spot”. That’s enough for the girl to know exactly where Percy is hiding. In the edge of Serene Woods, where Cheri Berries hang low and are perfect for picking.

There he is, the curious green haired boy who walks in all fours, communicates only in growls, and won’t look at other people in the eye. The boy who loves Pokémon.

She found him near a tree, watching a listening to a flock of Pidgey chirping, taking notes on them while trying to mimic their sounds, he slowly approaches them, trying to get as close as possible but he ends up scaring them off.

The boy loves Pokémon, but most of them don’t like him back. So, he spends all of his time reading about them, studying them, getting to know them, so little by little they start to accept him.
[1/2]
>>
>>3124176
Completely different as how he treats people, including her. No matter how much one tries to get close to him, he’ll just try to drive them off, or at best, fail to acknowledge your presence.

“He-…hey Percy!” the girl stumbles with her words, but greets him with her usual cheery disposition, the boy responds with a singular annoyed grunt, as he starts to get deeper into the woods. The girl pleads him to wait for her, but the boy doesn’t care. He doesn’t run off when he sees her anymore, but he still won’t really acknowledge her unless if it is of vital importance.

“Look what I’ve got!” the girl tries to catch the attention of the boy with the main component of her plan. A fully illustrated Pokémon encyclopedia, she just got her library card and she wanted to put it to good use. With care, she places the book on the ground and starts to flick through it.

“I wanted to read it, but it has a lot of complicated words that I don’t understand…”
Percy quickly glances at the girl, scoffing her for her inability to read the book on her own.

“And you are very smart when it comes to Pokémon”
The boy let’s out a little smile, proud that at least someone recognizes it, besides his grandma.

“And since you can’t go to the library anymore, after you bit the librarian, I thought that we could read it together! B-b-but, you’ll have to read the complicated parts to me!”

The girl awaits eagerly for his response, even if he’s just reading the words from a book, getting him to talk is good enough to her. Percy isn’t sure on how to answer her, remaining pensive for a moment before he comes up with a plan. They boy nods in agreement, he’ll read it to her and explain the difficult parts.

Little Jeanne can’t believe that it worked! She managed to get him to talk! She’s just so happy that her plan actually worked, for a moment she considers hugging Percy, but then she remembers all the bite marks she got the last time she tried. Instead she keeps her little celebration to herself and Mareep.

Then, the boy starts whistling, calling for a Chatot. He offers him some berries in exchange for a favor. Percy leans close to the Chatot head mimicking the sounds the bird usually makes.

[Chatot]: I’ll read it, and Chatot will speak for me.

All the excitement the girl had is suddenly gone, she let’s out a long sigh along her Mareep. But this defeat won’t stop him, she’ll definitely make Percy talk one day! Instead, she’ll just enjoy the moment, she did want to read the book after all.

[2/3]
>>
>>3124178
Sitting alongside the boy, hours go by as the Chatot narrates the books contents in Percival’s stead. The boy doesn’t seem to like her, but he doesn’t mind her. From time to time he’s shown some kindness to the girl, like introducing her to Mareep, teaching her how to read, defending her from wild mons, or sharing some leftover berries from time to time. And it’s at time like this, where he’s too engrossed with the things he loves, that he seems to forget she’s a human and let’s her get close to him. Slowly, the two kids shorten the distance between them, Percy rest his head on her lap as he starts to get comfortable, once she’s sure he won’t mind, the girl starts to slowly run her fingers trough his hair. She can’t quite tell why, but she likes that messy look of his. They stay like this, reading together until it’s time for dinner.

This is their routine, the girl would come up with a way to make him talk, and the boy would never do it. Why does she keep doing it? Because she doesn’t want him to feel alone. Most Pokémon don’t really like him, and the people in the village all see him a strange boy who’s not right in the head.

But he’s more than that, he’s smart even if he acts like a know it all from time to time, and he cares for others, putting his own health in peril just to help them. If he could bring himself talk, maybe others could see it too!

She just wants to be there for him, because she knows how it is to feel unwanted by everyone, abandoned. Priest Arclight was the only one who was there for her, after she was tossed aside. And in a way, she feels a need to return the kindness given to her.

So, even if he doesn't want it, even if he doesn't like her. She'll stay by his side, until he isn't alone anymore.

She just hopes that when that day comes, he won't forget abouther.

Doesn't Kali have the bracelet to prevent any extensive control over her by Victoria. Victoria only managed to take Kali over enough to hold out hand for like ten seconds, and that's because A) we were in close proximity to Kali and B) Victoria used us as proxy to relay her power.
Victoria is smart enough to notice and avoid the can trap most likely, and Victoria simply cannot possess Kali from thaaaaaat far away from us AND with the bracelet equipped to counter her.

This is a fucking trap. No matter how much I want Percy to roll with it, there's too much that does not add up here.

>Remove her hand from your face.

The girl seems to be cherishing the fell of your face in your hand, she quietly mumbles something about “warmness”

This is just wrong. or at least is feels that way.
You push her hand aside, in a slow but firm movement. The girl seems saddened and disappointed, turning his eyes to the ground,.

[Percy]: Alright, I need a compelling explanation as to what is happening. Or Mimikyu will be forced to restrain you.

[Percy]: Also, please don’t touch my face without telling me first. It makes me feel really weird.

[Kali]: I wanted to see you again. Not in my dream this time.

[Kali]:She’s easier to manipulate once she’s asleep. There’s no resistance from her part.

You glance at Kali’s wrist, she’s no wearing her bracelet any longer.

[Percy]:Victoria?

[Kali/Victoria]: Hello, Percival.

The girl sits by your side. You question her how she got Kali to remove her bracelet, she tells you that she still has her connection with Pachi the Haunter, “I got him to remove the bracelet once she fell asleep” and used *Hypnosis* to lull the rest of her team into a deep sleep.

The girl inhabiting the body of her sister looks intrigued to her surroundings, there’s a certain awe in her look.

[Kali/Victoria]: It’s the first time I’ve been in a place like this…

[Kali/Victoria]:And there's no corpses around...

[Kali/Victoria]: Can we roast marshmallows?

With Mimikyu’s help you got a campfire going on, there’s still enough leftover candy for the three of you so there shouldn’t be a problem.
Sitting down in front of the campfire, you start to roast the snacks.
The girl watches coldly at the sugary white puff turning burning, curiously enough, she seems a bit hesitant to bite into it, careful of not burning her tongue. “It’s sweet…”

You try to channel your inner big-brother instinct to try and lecture her on why it is wrong to possess other people’s body without their consent, unfortunately you aren’t really a figure of respect to your own ACTUAL little sister.
Also, you are not sure if this is the right moment to lecture her, maybe you could prepare your words a bit before addressing this issue. So, you just let her enjoy this little moment.

Mimikyu is wary of her, you can see he’s getting really tense around her, ready to defend you in case things go south, you try to reassure him, telling him there’s nothing to worry about.

Victoria tells you a bit about the place she lives and her day to day, she spends most of her time studying with private tutors and doing tests and experiments at bequest of her father. “I’m busy most of the day, but at least I have the nights…”

[Kali/Victoria]: I’d like to do something like this again, with you, and her. But using her body is probably the closest I’ll be.

[Percy]: That’s not true, when we get you out of there we can go camping!

[Kali/Victoria]: You, me, and her?

[Percy]:Eh… maybe not with Kali. We could take turns?

[Kali/Victoria]: Hmph.

Victoria seems a bit mad at you, so you quickly start to apologize, hurriedly telling her that you could consider maybe, hanging with Kali, from time to time. Just for her. The girl responds to your nervousness with a slight smile. She’s not very expressive, but you can tell, she’s feeling pretty happy just spending some time with you.

You spent the rest of the of your shift with her, once she exhausted her powers, she returns to her camp to leave her sister’s body in place.
>You feel a little bit closer to Victoria.

After she’s no longer in the camp, you wake up Eli and proceed to rest….

>No time to waste.

There’s no time to waste, you still got 6 badges to go, and you need to put some serious work into training if you want to get an invitation to this year’s league. Focused on the task at hand, the morning passes by fast as you climb down the mountains, trekking down carefully with your team and companions.
Following the path Gareth and Eli already knew you get to the base of the mount without a hitch, you still some hours to spare, so you and your group decide to keep up with your training, also, Eli won’t let the two of you skip. “No slacking off on my watch! C’mon, you guys need to work hard if you wanna keep up with me!”

While you are training with your mons, you oversee you remember what the Bounty Hunter said about your skinny arms and wimpy self, in that moment you felt a necessity to prove her wrong , and now that your arm is all healed up there’s nothing stopping you from exercising yourself.

But if you want to be really serious about training your Pokémon, maybe you need to check your priorities first.

>Let’s train our body everyday alongside your mons. You won’t be able to oversee all with the same amount of attention you usually give them. (Start getting some Gains at a slight expense of the effectiveness of your mon’s training.)
>You could start a training regimen with Loudred during her nightly jogs, but you must be consistent if you want to see some changes in yourself! (You’ll lose hours of free time during the late afternoon, Monday through Friday.)
>Getting fit can wait! Let’s focus on training our mons, and using those hours at night for other things, after all, you got various pending business (Checking on Victoria, translating ancient documents, helping Dr. Maple with her investigations, etc)

>No time for a FIT Percy.

Even though you would like to be physically stronger, or at least strong enough to not be manhandled by a punkish girl with pink hair. Right now, your focus is on raising your Pokémon, and you got plenty of stuff to do during this journey.

You can wait until your journey is over to start working on your body, besides there’s a limit to what human muscles could do against fire breathing dragon, gigantic beast with bodies made of hard steel, and psychics who could rip you apart with their minds.
The only exception to this would probably be that Elite Four guy, who fights hand to hand against Pokémon, but you aren’t completely sure that he is a human.

With that out of the way for the time being your training continues, your teammates are all working on their respective goals. Now that they’ve become a bit stronger, progress will start to become a tad slower. You’ll probably need to keep their training up until the end of the week if you want to see some results!

After sparring a little with Eli and Gareth, you are ready to depart. The walk to the bus station isn’t a long one. The old station, almost forgotten by the ages houses various trainers and bounty hunters.

Eli got her hand stuck on an old vending machine trying to show Gareth how to get free candy. The Bounty hunter from Ibarra Village approaches to mock her. You consider helping her out, but you are too distracted trying to identify the sounds of flying types chirpings above you, Spearow? Starly? Chatot? You can tell they are there, but not in what quantity.

Kali is also here, maintaining distance from your group, you don’t think she recalls anything from last night.

Dick is nowhere to be seen, maybe he stayed behind at Adage Village.

Finally the bus arrives, and holy crap is packed, even though you don't like it, you are forced to put all of your mons back in their balls, even Houndour agrees to get in the ball for the time being since "There's too many humans, it makes me uncomfortable". And he's right, not only trainers but normal tourist seem to be headed to the popular Lacrimosa bay.

The bus seems to have an internet connection, so you can use your cellphone while you get to your next destination. It seems like you got some new messages, from Cg. Orizaba and Jeanne?

What should you do with these hours?

Also, last post of the night, I'll leave voting open, take care anons, and Good night, I'll return tomorrow at 12:00 pm MDT.

Also, a question! What does Percival think of Jeanne McAllister Arclight?

Is he's pleasantly surprised about having another friend?

Does he sees her and her situation as something he's got to fix? Blaming himself for it?

Is he regretful of treating her the way he did when they were kids? Or he hasn't noticed it?

Is he wary of her, since she could be like Kali hiding a whole nother layer of personality?

Just a meddlesome girl, like before?

Or something else?
>>

>What does Percival think of Jeanne McAllister Arclight?

I think that Percy wants to help her situation because he was the one who invited her to the Blackstone Corp building, even though he did not know that whole ordeal was going to happen.

I think Percy is somewhat surprised to have her as a friend, but also somewhat hesitant because I believe we voted on

>Trying to remember who she was

& Percy had troubles with humans, and mostly had Poke-friends rather than human-friends. I think from an earlier session his dad said

>Glad you are finally making some human-friends Percy
>>
>>3126918
I think from what he recalls, he regards Jeanne very well - almost like an older sister (age nonwithstanding) as opposed to a friend. He's also probably not too proud of how he acted back then in general.

And he absolutely put all of the blame on himself, because it's Percy.

Blames himself completely. Also wondering why he completely forgot about her. Maybe because she was meddlesome and wasn't worth remembering in the mind of autistic kid Percy, so now autistic teenage Percy feels bad for past neglect. Either way, he appreciates her and what she did for him in the past more now that he's just finding out about it.

Not being sure how to respond to CG. Orizaba, you decide to twist the truth a little bit, just to ease his worries about her granddaughter.
ONLINE:
[Percy]: Oh, Kali, thinks have been great, yep. We’ve been doing all sorts of stuff together, we entered a contest, helped her interact with some wild Pokémon, toasted marshmallows over the campfire.

[Percy]:She even let me ride her Arcanine! He’s really big and fluffy, definitely a good boy.
[CG.Orizaba]: Sounds like the two of you got over your differences awfully fast, you makin it sound like you are best buds, It’s a bit hard to believe, you aren’t lying to me boy ain’t you?

[Percy]:Oh, no, no, no. We aren’t that friendly, we’ve got that rivalry thing going on, tons of competitiveness and some animosity between us, we are more like friends that sort of don’t like each other but sometimes we do?

[Percy]:Always trying to one-up each other, like Tauros locking horns with each other to prove who’s the strongest of the herd. Even though Tauros are an all-male species and I’m like 80% sure Kali isn’t a male.

[CG. Orizaba]: Calm down boy, I’m just surprised you got along faster than I thought, me and Arthur only started to get along once we were stuck together in the battlefield, fighting for our lives.

[CG. Orizaba]:I’m glad you didn’t need a war for that, take care boy, and keep an eye on her.

And now, moving on to Jeanne, more than anything. You feel guilty for her situation, you can’t help but blame yourself for taking her along with you.
[Percy]: I’m sorry, for letting him take you. I had the chance to get you out of there, and I blew it.

[Percy]:It’s all my fault.

[Jeanne]: Don’t say that Percy, you just wanted to do the best for everyone.

[Jeanne]: And I’m sure I’ll find a way out of here! Authorities should be looking for him, so I just need to wait until then.

[Jeanne]: Don’t blame yourself, ok?

[Jeanne]:Oh, I think he’s coming back, I have to go now Percy, but, if you ever have some time to spare and want to talk about anything, I’m here for you!

Jeanne is now offline.

You didn’t have the heart to tell that there’s really no one looking for her, after he returned the Madeleine’s town governor for the ransom money, the authorities shifted their focus towards the revolutionary group. There’s no one looking for her.

You decide to take your mind off things, by doing some poke-reading on the bus, hours past by and you found yourself in a rest stop, the bus is going to load up and gas, and passengers get a chance to stack up on snacks or have a meal.

It's pretty well-kept for being in the middle of nowhere, probably because a good number of people pass by on their way to lacrimosa bay.

It’s located near a river bank, where Water-type’s swim around.
There’s a small dinner, a Poké-mart, a heling station and even a small arena for Pokémon battles!

You let out all of your teammates out, they seem glad to be able to stretch their legs again.

What should you do?

Disregarding the human matters occurring around you, you decide to go check the nearby riverbank. The peaceful waters come from the sea.

There’s a Slowpoke nonchalantly fishing in the edge of the river. He seems oblivious to his surroundings, near him are a group of Wooper playing in the mud.

Since you can’t tell exactly which Pokémon are swimming trough the river, you hold your breath and dive your head into the water.

You spy various Magikarps swimming around, as well as Barboach, Remoraid, Buizel and even a single Feebas whose wary of the other mons.

There’s also a group of Corphish fighting among themselves at the bottom of the river, they seem to be sparring.

You got some free time before the bus leaves, so you should…

Gather information!

You get your head out of the water and take deep breath before diving again, it’s a bit hard to communicate under water but you had tons of practice. Gurgling and gathering their attention with specific hand movements, you get some od the Pokémon to notice you.

After talking for a bit, and giving them some Poké-snacks, some of the Remoraid start to talk, they come from the sea and had seen a bit of Lacrimosa Bay during their annual migrations.

The place is packing with humans, more than any other beach in the region. Many Pokémon tend to stay away from the coast, since a lot of the humans are also proficient and strong trainers. Particularly the ones who are not from around, that are staying in the big tower near the coast, you guess he’s referring to the trainers staying at the Water Gym/ Resort.

Even though not a lot of Pokémon get near, there are various spots where you can find big communities of Pokémon. A cave located a bit far away from the city, you’ll find it by passing through some rocky spots, it’s inhabited mostly by Shellos, Lanturn and tons of different Pokémon unusual to the region, it’s illuminated by glowing plants and mushrooms, so the Pokémon refer to it as “Luminescence cave”

There’s also a strange human building located in another abandoned spot from the coast, an old Hydroelectric power station, now unused, for some reason it seems to house different Electric type Pokémon like Electabuzz and Voltrob as well as Ditto.

And regarding rumors of Pokémon of unusual size, there’s a legend circling around for decades now. “The Custodian of The Sea” A gigantic benevolent Pokémon who’s protecting an uncharted island inhabited only by Pokémon, rumors say it’s located somewhere near Lacrimosa Bay.

>You learned about. “Luminescence Cave”, The abandoned Hydroelectric plant, and “The Custodian of the sea”

>>3128132
You consider asking the mons if there any Tirtouga nearby, but you know very well that there’s only one place where you’ll find prehistoric Pokémon here in Aztlan. On the East Coast, there’s Dome Island, a Pokémon reserve owned by White Veil, where they recreate the habitats of Extinct Pokémon, it’s open for trainers who can afford going there and it houses every kind of Extinct Pokémon that has been discovered as of yet.
>You remembered Dome Island. House of prehistoric mons.

You thank the Remoraid for his time and bid him adieu. It's time to return to the road.

Unsurprisingly, Eli is once again with her hand in a vending machine. "Stupid fucking thing! I'll get you next time!" but she manages to break free with the help of her mons.

What it is surprising is that she managed to battle some trainers with her hand stuck there.

You still got some hours before you arrive at Lacrimosa Bay, what should you do with this time?

The main problem about staying in Lacrimosa bay is the lodging. Because is summer season, the all the hotels will be filled with tourists, and they even charge you for camping on the beach. Not even the Pokémon centers will let trainers stay the night without paying.

You can always risk it and stay outside of the city, camping in the wilderness, but you’ll be risking yourself to be attacked by nocturnal predators,

The prices for staying at the high-class Dolorosa Paraiso Resort/Water Gym will probably hurt your pocket really badly, but you would like the chance to meet see some Pokémon from other regions, and you could get a chance to battle some interesting opponents.

Then, an idea pops up in your head!

ONLINE:
[Percy]: Hey Dick, I wanted to ask you a favor

[Dick]: Let me guess, you binged watched Denka! Kōkō daisuki panikku! Mugen no Natsu The Animation. And moved to your very core by the artistic merit of a work of such quality you have come back, begging for more recommendations.
[Percy]:Not really? I’ve been meaning to watch it but I got no time. Actually, I’m about to arrive at Lacrimosa bay, and since you are a pretty influential dude, I wanted to know if I you could help me get a discount to stay some nights at the Resort/ Gym there.

[Dick]:I’m a pretty influential man, that’s correct, and I appreciate you acknowledge me as such but what do I get in exchange?

[Percy]:I was thinking we could met up there, spar a little, train together, give eac other some pointers, and maybe watch your recommendations together.

[Dick]:You want to watch it, with me?

[Percy]:Sure, I think it would be fun.

[Dick]: Let me make some calls. You are traveling with two other people right?

[Percy]:Yeah, Gareth and Eli.

Less than two minutes passed by.

[Dick]:The deed is done, just go to the reception and tell them you are Percival Williams, I got my private villa reserved for us. I’ll be getting there tomorrow.

[Percy]:Wait, dude, I was expecting something more like a discount coupon? Is your family ok with this?

[Dick]:Why would they care? They all got their own private villas.

[Percy]:Just how rich your family is? Why would you even need so many villas?

[Dick]: Awe before Blackstone wealth and power! Well, I hope it doesn’t feel too cramped with the five of us there.

[Percy]: Five?

[Dick]:That’s correct, I’m traveling with someone now. See you later Percival, I got matters to attend to.

Well, you don’t have to worry about the lodging anymore! Man, having an obscenely rich friend is pretty cool.

You spend the remainder of the trip reading some exciting texts. “Rock Types! A study on their mineral centric diets and digestive tracts”

[Victoria]: Oh, I’ve been meaning to read that article.
[Victoria]: Don’t mind me, enjoy it in peace.

Hours pass, and from your window you can see the sea, in these last hours of daylight, you can appreciate how the waves crash against the coast. Wingull are flying near the coast while a Wailord rears his head from the water, almost as if it was saying hello to the bus passing by. You respond to him with an over enthusiastic “Hello!” mimicking his sounds in a low guttural way, which weirded out most of the other passengers.

After a little while, you are finally in your destination. The place is nothing like your home city, it’s not like any place you’ve visited before, is brimming with lights, people and Pokémon. There are street entertainers performing near the beach, firebreathers and musicians putting a show with their mons. Tons of expensive and fancy looking restaurants with views to the sea.

The salty sea breeze envelopes you, Loudred seems to enjoy it, the rest of your team, not so much.

“Yo, I feel really out of place here.” Eli states. She’s followed up by Gareth

“Just standing here makes forget I’m homeless, It really feels like a summer vacation!”

You got a couple of hours left until it’s too late.
>Let’s go straight to the Villa, unpack and relax. (You haven’t told your companions where you are staying)
>After all those hours on the bus, you feel like walking a little, maybe you should get some dinner! (Let’s take stroll around the place)
>Let’s be smart with our money, instead of paying for expensive meals go grocery shopping, you’ll be cooking at the villa.

Even though you already solved the issue concerning everyone’s lodging, you still need to pay for your meals if you are planning to stay some days here. So, in order to save some money, you’ll be doing some grocery shopping. Your traveling companions seem to find the idea agreeable, each of them will give you some money, and a list of things they would like, leaving most of the shopping to you.

>Obtained: $5000 from Gareth and Eli
[Gareth]:I’m a simple man Percy, just get me some instant ramen and we are golden.

[Eli]: Yo, weirdo, get some snacks too, for the road. And don’t forget the meats, I need the meats.

[Jaws]: BOSS DEMANDS SOME MEATS, YOU BETTER BRING THEM BOI.

[Eli]:In the meantime, I’m gonna get us a spot on the beach to camp, I’mma fight for a nice spot, gonna kick tons backpackers asses.

[Percy]: I’m afraid your ass kicking won’t be required this time. I already got us a place to stay, just met me at Paraiso Dolorosa Resort, or as it more colloquially known, the Fancy Water Gym.

[Eli]:Dude, we can’t afford that fancy shit, not even with all my bounty hunting!

[Percy]: Don’t worry, I got my means. Well I got a friend with means, cause he’s rich.

Eli seems surprised and confused, not sure how to react, the idea of staying on that kind of place seems to weird her out but finally she seems to come to terms with it. “Well, I’m not gonna say no to free stuff”

Gareth is ecstatic, celebrating with his team, doing a little dance on the middle of the street. “A real bed boys! Not a small couch on the Pokémon center, no sleeping in that old patched up sleeping bag, we are going to vacation like kings!”

With that being said, Eli decides to go and find people to battle with, “I’mma get me some more cash real quick”. Gareth, not sure of what to do, decides to tag along with you, he’s still beaming at the thought of staying in the resort.

Before she goes, you decide to give some advice to Eli.

[Percy]: Don’t get your hand stuck in another vending machine!

[Eli]:I'll stick my hand wherever I damn please! Next time I'll get it right!

After some little banter, and asking for directions you finally arrive at a SuperMarket, the place is considerably massive, you are pretty sure you could find about anything edible here! They must have such ample selection to cater to all the tourist from overseas. Mimikyu seems particularly interested in the selection of foodstuffs they got. His perks up when he notices a book titled. “International Flavors: The best recipes from all the corners of the world” he picks it up and starts to read through it while you do some shopping.

You want to avoid wasting too much money during your time in Lacrimosa Bay, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your stay here. You start adding some snacks and Pokétreats to your shopping cart, you’ll be paying for these ones from your own pocket and you are buying enough for everyone. You feel like you owe your companions and your teammates for making them worry about you.

Mimikyu is still engrossed reading the cooking book, he wants to learn as many recipes as possible before returning it to the shelves. You try to get his attention, pointing out his reading material.

[Mimikyu]: My apologies Master, I shall return it at once

[Percy]: What are you talking about? Just don’t forget to put in on the cart before we pay, you can continue reading at Dick’s place.

Mimikyu starts to tremble excitedly but recomposes himself shortly after, while putting the book inside the shopping cart.

[Mimikyu]: I greatly appreciate it Master. I’ll be sure to make your purchase a fruitful one and improve my cooking even further.

[Percy]:You are welcome Mimikyu, I’ll be looking forward to it!

>Current money: $24,000

You still got plenty of money, and you can always sell that “Comet Shard” you got from the Clefairy, you shouldn’t be worrying to much about money.

Mimikyu isn’t wasting any time, he’s fully concentrated on the book looking the recipes he could do with the ingredients at hand, Loudred and Prince offers some suggestions. Mimikyu is al giddy and Loudred is salivating at the thought of tasting more of his cooking.

While walking through the sidewalk on this hot summer night, you talk a little bit with Gareth. Mostly about his Pokémon Gym experience back in Adage Village. This is the second Gym he’s challenged, the first one being the Steel Type Gym back home, but he still hasn’t managed to get any badges.

[Gareth]: Hey, Percy, can I ask you something?

[Percy]: Sure, if it’s about Pokémon I probably have a clear answer, I can’t promise the same thing for any other subjects.

[Gareth]: Well, I don’t want to be too privy, but you remember that night in Ibarra Village? When you and Kali where talking? I kind of overheard most of the conversation, on accident.

[Percy]:Her meltdown?

[Gareth]:Yeah, I REALLY didn’t want to think too much about it, cause it was pretty scary stuff. But, when the two of us went trough the Gym together, I couldn’t help but remember it.

[Gareth]: And I just wanted to know, there’s no way that’s true, right? The murderous psychic little girl mind controlling Pokémon and humans. I thought Kali was just exaggerating cause she’s a teenage girl

[Gareth]: But, when she got me and Eli out of the mountains, and while going trough the Gym, she didn’t seem like the type of person to lie about that kind of stuff. I kind of wanted to ask her about what happened but I get the feeling she wouldn’t say anything about it.

[Gareth]: Sorry to bug you with this man but, just how much of what she said was true?

> “Nothing, Kali is a deceitful, manipulative crazy person and you shouldn’t trust anything says” (Lie) (Needs roll to fool Gareth)
> “She’s blowing it out of proportion, believe me, it’s not as bad as she made it sound” (Lie) (Needs roll to fool Gareth)
> “It’s true, but you should not bring it up around her, or anyone else for that matter” (Partial truth)
> “It’s true, and I still kind of have her sister popping in and out of my head” (The whole truth)

Thanks anons, I hope you all had a good time this holidays. Merry Christmas to you all!

I'm really glad you are enjoying it anon!

I'm also really surprised how players have warmed up to Victoria, especially while considering her original "roles" in the quest

Yeah, Vicky is just a little uneducated on morals and stuff but she's a fine little girl!

That's not to say that Kali doesn't put up a front for most people, but...

Partial Truth.
There’s no need to worry him too much, but he should at least be aware of what’s happening.

You tell Gareth that what Kali said that night is true, her sister is in fact a psychic who can control others, but you made sure to leave out some detail like Victoria being connected directly to your brain or how Kali also has similar abilities. You also advised him to not tell anyone else about this, no point in worrying more people, specially Kali, you don't want to deal with another outburst from her.

Gareth seems visibly shaken by this information regarding Victoria.

[Gareth]: Oh man, I thought psychics were just a myth, I used to make fun of those guys at /x/, I must be super-cursed right now. Oh man, oh crap.

[Percy]: Gareth calm down, I’m not sure everyone on the internet claiming to be a psych

[Gareth]:You are right Percy, it’s just a little too much for me right now. But I mean, if there’s one, there could be more. Who knows?

[Percy]:They could be psychic Pokémon pretending to be human. The Psychic typing is well known to have cognitive and intellectual capabilities that rival our own, and in some areas, they easily surpass us. Besides, “mind control” isn’t that uncommon for psychic type mons, and we’ve seen what they can do with it.

[Percy]: Remember the 98’s Bloody Summer incident? At Silverpoint city, with all those Hypno. And all those bodies…

[Gareth]: Please don’t remind me of that. I lived there when that went down. (Gareth is trembling in fear, his voices crackles.)

[Percy]:Sorry, I’m just saying, the chances of you running into a human psychic are minuscule compared to running into a psychic Pokémon who could easily manipulate your mind. See? Nothing has changed, no need to worry about it.

[Gareth]: Goddamit Percy, now I feel like my brain is in danger.

[Percy]:No Gareth, it has always been this way. Now you are aware your brain is in danger and knowing is half the battle! I think? Or three fourths of the battle? Two thirds? Eh, knowing is good.

For some reason, your perfectly logical explanation didn’t seem to do much good to Gareth, he seems even more nervous than before. Kadabra manages to calm him down he writes on a piece of paper “I’ll alert you of any psychic, mons or men, trying to get into your brain” and hands it to Gareth. The older trainer thanks your companion, he seems more tranquil now, until he realizes something.

[Gareth]: Holy shit, you can read and write?

After realizing he can communicate with Kadabra, Gareth and he start to engage in conversation about how money relates to power in the world of humans and Gareth’s job as a pizza delivery guy.

As you enter the resort, the first thing you notice is how high class everything is, the lobby is immense and is decorated with statues of pre-conquest civilizations and Aztlan’s native mons. The other thing you notice is that almost everyone here seems to be a foreigner, most of them speak other languages you can’t quite understand.
Oh man, is that a motherfucking Alolan Sandslash? And that guy has a Pyroar! You’ve only seen them at the zoo! And that strong, intoxicating smell that feels like is burning up my nostrils... an Aromatisse! Seems like the owner refuses to get it back in his Pokéball. There are various Pokémon that you won’t see anywhere in the wild in this region, you try to keep your distance but it’s hard to not be completely entranced by them.

You managed to calm down enough to go over the counter and get the keys to the Villa, you all get a copy of them, one of the workers will show you where it’s located, it seems to be located in a private part of the beach.

Now, what should you do during this night?
>Let’s just kick back and relax for tonight.
>Let’s spend some time with someone? (Who?)
>Translate ancient documents for Dr.Henry Ford.
>Investigate about the abandoned Hydroelectric Plant
>Investigate rumors of the “Custodian Of The Sea” and the island it protects.
>Contact Dr.Maple, tell her about Luminescence Cave she may be interested
>Let’s get back to the lobby and observe what kind of Pokémon are lounging about, probably irritating their owners
>Get some info on the Water Gym, after all, you are technically in Gym right now.
