We play as Percival Williams a socially awkward Pokémaniac with a knack for communicating with Pokémon.
He's on his way to become a professional trainer and find his calling in life.

Your team so far consists of:
Houndour
Mimikyu
Loudred
Vulpix (Alolan)
“Prince” (Elekid)

Traveling partners:
-Kadabra: A teleporting friend.
-Eli: A punkish girl who aims to be the next regional Pokémon champion
-Gareth: 20 something college dropout who’s starting his Journey a bit too late

Status:
-Helping out a murderous psychic that visits our brain from time to time.
-28 days (Approximately) before the fall of Adage Village.
-2 Gym Badges

Last time:
Percival played card games with his mons while trying to get Prince to overcome his social anxiety when interacting with other Pokémon. He met Victoria, the psychic girl, who was possessing her sister’s body while camping. After a morning training session Percy and his group took a bus to Lacrimosa Bay. And thanks to Dick, the rich kid, Percy got lodging in the most fancy and exsenvie resort of Lacrimosa Bay, that conveniently is also the Water Type Gym

You expected things to be fancy but this a bit too much for you, near the main building they got a private spot at the beach only for the residents of the Villas. It’s a series of half a dozen ample, modern residences, none look the same.
The place is impressive, Dick’s private Villa is easily bigger than your own home. Why would you even need a place this big if you are staying alone? Maybe for Pokémon, after all if you want to legally house a large number of Pokémon, or any species that surpasses certain measurements you need large enough space, by law.

The inside is even as impressive as the outside, the place looks even bigger, it seems to have enough rooms for all of you, it has the biggest flat screen television you’ve ever seen in the living room, a hot tub in the what seems to be a backyard, living quarters specially accommodated for Pokémon and a fully equipped kitchen that would put most restaurants to shame.

Mimikyu’s eyes shine trough his rag the moment he sees the kitchen, rushing towards it and starting to prepare dinner. Gareth, the homeless trainer is elated, dropping his belongings in the floor and laying on a fluffy and expensive looking carpet seemingly exhausteed. “This is where I belong, I will not move from here, ever”.

Eli seems more confused than anything “Why do you even need so much space? It’s probably a pain in the ass to keep it clean” she doesn’t seem to get the appeal, also, the girl seems bit pissed off. Apparently, she went to a local battling arena to try her luck against other trainers, and she was doing pretty good until some “blonde asshole” came by and “trashed her whole team like it was nothing” constantly mocking her and the other trainers. He sounds like an ass.

Tonight you decided to translate some ancient texts for the Archeologist/Gym Leader Dr.Henry Ford. And that will probably occupy most of your night.

While Mimikyu gets dinner ready, Eli and Gareth are fighting about what to watch on the obscenely large flat screen T.V.

You go to your room to unpack, while watching the next video Dr. Henry Ford sent you. It seems to be another entry on the Journal of the Arcane Sage. After watching a couple of times, you start to get a gist of what the Golurk reading the entry is trying to communicate with its limited range of expressions. But before you can get fully decipher it dinner is ready to be served.

You are munching some delicious beef quesadillas with some homemade sauce, Eli seems pleased with the amount of meat on her plate.

[Gareth]: Hey, guys, random question. Do any of you have New Year’s resolutions?

[Eli]: Where did that came from? Kinna weird asking that in the middle of the summer.

[Eli]: Mine are pretty simple, keep kicking ass, become the “CHAMPION” of the League, and…ehm, to stop some old habits. (She seems a bit embarrassed about that last bit.)

[Gareth]:To stop getting your hand stuck in vending machines?

[Eli]: NO! Well, yeah, but also some other things… What about you two losers?

[Gareth]: Well, I wanted to get a better job, do better in college and get some real furniture for my apartment.

[Percy]: And you got fired, dropped out, and got kicked out of your apartment…

[Gareth]: Man, no need to be so blunt, I still got half a year to get my stuff together. What about you Percy, my man? Got anything you want to do before the year ends?

>Human friends

You are already on a journey with them, so might as well be honest with your objectives. You came up with it at the end of the last year and you haven’t updated it since you left home. And it’s probably better that way, since you were going to add “helping out Vicky” to the list. Still not sure how to fully explain them your relationship with Victoria.
You aren’t sure if people always carry lists of their goals on their person, but you do. Looking at it helps you stay determined.

>Meet more Pokémon on your Journey
>Become a league champion!
>Find what you want to do with your life
>Become a respected professional trainer

Taking out the surprisingly well-kept list from your backpack you put it on the table.

[Percy]: It may be a little dumb but, I got a list of things I want to do, all of them are related to this journey, but they fit the bill

Eli takes the list it with an unexpected amount of care. She and Gareth start to examine it.

[Gareth]: Man, that’s a relief! I was worried you already got your life figured it out, seeing you working so well with your mons. I was sure that you would be a professor or something.

[Percy]: Well, I want to try out different things before deciding on something. There’s tons of profession related to them, wait why is that a relief?
[Gareth]: I was a little worried that a 15 year old would have his stuff together better than I, but it looks like we are on the same boat! Don’t worry man, you still got plenty of time.

[Eli]: You aiming for the league too? Why didn’t you tell me sooner dude?

[Percy]: I wasn’t sure if I could get in this year, but I would like to at least get invited one day

[Eli]:Nah, none of that half-ass shit, you and me are getting into this year’s league. So, I can personally trash you in that big ass stadium.

[Eli]: I mean, you are ALMOST as good as me. So, you should get into the league no probs. If you are gonna be the rival of Aztlan next champion, that’s the least you should.

[Percy]: You sound really sure about yourself, even though I won our last battle.

[Eli]: Oh, you want to rile me up? C’mon weirdo I’ll take you on anytime!

[Mimikyu]: (Poké-Speak) Master, please cease your banter-flirting for a moment. Remember that thing you wrote in the corner of the list?

[Percy]: (Poké-Speak)This is flirting? And what? The get rid of my “V-Card” part? Oh shit, that part!

Thankfully that corner of the list was being covered by Eli’s hand, but you aren’t going to risk it. In a swift movement you take the paper list of her and with your teeth you rip the corner were you wrote your sinful desires.
Promptly you start to chew on it while nervously blurting out trivia about Pokémon diets in an attempt to divert their attention. “Did you know cellulose is vital for the nutrition of different types of herbivore, mammalian Pokémon? But also Pokémon that feed on waste like Muk and Garbodor? Their digestive tracts share some similarities...”

You start to lecture them on how to recognize these types of Pokémon and what their diets consist of by examining their droppings. They seemed initially fazed when you started to eat the list but they guess it’s just your general weirdness.

>You opened up to Eli and Gareth! You feel a little bit closer to them.
>You better make a new list when you have time.

After dinner is done you return to your room and start the video that the Archeologist Dr Henry Ford sent you. Writing down the translation of what the Golurks on camera are trying to express.

“Journal of the Arcane Sage.”

Various moons have passed since I met the BeastMaster. With the aid of my creations the Golett, and my own interest in improving the capturing devices, the harvest of materials and their production have become faster than ever. And with that, the number of beasts under our service have become larger as well.

The abilities of these beasts, their sheer strength and resilience makes them perfect partners for most kinds of work. In the fields, assisting in the hunts, constructing settlements, and above all, for warfare. Their destructive power easily surpasses that of any human weapon. Any group that opposes us is swiftly crushed under our power. And even those who attempt to dethrone the BeastMaster with their own beast are promptly defeated by his tactical mind.

It’s astounding how eager to cooperate these beasts become. With the proper training, nonetheless. Still, I’ve seen children as young as 10, commanding these monsters. It is almost as if we were made for one another.

But there’s a thought that worries me. Even with his tactical genius, and his fearsome battling ability the BeastMaster is not the savior I expected him to be. He’s rash, proud, and at times violent, in more than one occasion he’s ruined the opportunity for tribes to peacefully join us, jumping directly into combat. Subjugating entire tribes motivated by a single, disrespectful comment about him or his people.

He always aims for the leaders of the groups, but spares their people, even if they rise in arms against him afterwards. He has a soft spot for the common folk, maybe because he’s didn’t come from nobility. A regular warrior who raised against his own chief and proclaimed himself as a champion of the people.

This violent attitude is not a problem as long as we have the upper hand in terms of strengths, but on the depth south, there are tales of colossal monsters that command armies of both men and beast, if the tales are true, this could mean danger to our group.

The BeastMaster, is he a savior or just a fool? At least he seems to be aware of his faults. After consulting with him, he has made me his official adviser, he wants me to help him in negotiations and the like. While he entertains his bellicose mind on strengthening our warrior and our beast.

For a moment I thought he’d realized the real responsibilities of commanding and ruling over people. That was before last night, when he entered my room with an announcement and a request.

He wants to capture a God and train him, so no one would raise against him ever again.
And he wants me to help.
He’s definitely a fool.

Thursday. 10th day of your Journey.
- 27 days (Approximately) before the fall of Adage Village. b]

The summer morning is both hot and humid, after getting yourself and your team ready you head off to the beach for some morning training with your companions.

Since this area of the beach is open only to those staying at the Villas, there’s no one to interrupt your training.

Vulpix and Loudred are captivated by the sea, both of them have never seen a body of water this large before. Vulpix wonders if it’s endless while Loudred is dying to go swimming. Houndour is a bit wary of the water, the endless, clear sea is a bit intimidating for the fire type. And Prince refuses to get too near it, even after Loudred tries to get him to join him for a swim.

But it’s no time to play right now, you got some training to do!

Gareth and Eli soon join you, and you don’t want to admit it but you were kind of expecting Eli to come train in a swim-suit. You didn’t really pack one, but there was a smidgeon of hope that she did. A Pokémon themed one if possible.

Stopping with your horndog adolescent mindset and going back to your team.

Prince the Elekid seems much more comfortable with sparring now and is actually focusing more on improving his strengths to catch up wit the rest of team.
Everyone seems to be doing nicely, specially Vulpix and Mimikyu, her wizard costume seems to be raising her morale, and you think that the cookbook you got for the little ghost chef is doing the same for him.
>Bonus on the next training roll for both Vulpix and Mimikyu.

After sparring for a bit. Training finally comes to an end. If you keep this up until Saturday you should see some serious results with your team! While you are checking on everyone’s progress and condition Eli calls you out.

[Eli]: Hey weirdo, you got any plans for today?

You stop for a moment to think, what are you gonna do today in Lacrimosa Bay?
>You are going directly to the Gym to challenge it.

>Get some info on the Gym.
>Go to the Hydroelectric plant

You tell Eli that you were planning on getting some info on the Gym and exploring an abandoned Electric plan at the outskirts of the city. She is visibly disappointed by your answer but shrugs it off. Was she expecting you to say something else?

Whatever the case. She’s staying near the hotel and challenging the trainers staying here.
“I’mma get some cash, this place is brimming with rich kids ready to get decimated in battle.”

Gareth is going to look for any odd jobs he could do and wants to train a little bit more before challenging the Gym. “Honestly I really want to laze around, and take it easy on the beach, but I can’t slack off right now”

With that said everyone goes their way, you’ll meet up at the Villa later.

Loudred and Vulpix are happily playing near the water, splashing one another. While Kadabra is “imitating human architecture” that’s what he says but he’s just playing in the beach making sand-castles. You feel a little bad about it, but you must put their fun on hold. You got business to take care off.

Since the abandoned power plan is quite far away from here, you should get info on the gym first. At least while you got the chance.

>Let’s be quick and efficient, search for it online. That way you’ll have more time to explore the Hydroelectric power plant (Hitmon4-chan is always trustworthy right?)

After getting your team and Kadabra to stop playing in the beach you head to Dolorosa Paraiso Resort’s Lobby. There’s still a multitude of trainers and tourist from other regions going in and out of the fancy installations. After struggling to get directions from one of the workers, since you are too easily distracted by all these exotic Pokémon you finally head to where the Gym is located.

A especially long hallway leads to a pair of big, regal looking white doors with golden decorations on it. On top of the door it reads “Water Gymnasium” there’s a line of trainers waiting to get in. Most of them seem like kids your age. And for some reason there are various cameramen and reporter just hanging around, even though they aren’t recording anything.

Sitting on an ample couch you recognize a familiar pair, the overweight teen wearing and all black ensemble including a trench coat and a fedora, even in this heath. And his taller, muscular friend wearing a tank-top. They seem to be discussing strategies on things related to the gym.

Besides them there’s another boy who seems to be waiting for something, he’s thing and has surprisingly delicate features. He’s busy brushing a Ninetales with a particularly lush and lustrous fur. He catches you ogling his Ninetales and makes eye contact with you. For some reason his face seems familiar. He seems confused, did you already weird him out? You didn’t even talk to the guy!

From the doors other familiar face comes out, tall, a bit older than you, blonde, and looks like a total asshole. Sporting some sunglasses, Dick’s big brother comes out of the doors. He’s instantly cornered by paparazzi who start bombarding him with questions about this year’s league and the Gym Leader. His Scizor steps forward trying to intimidate the noisy reporters. Maximiliam tells his Pokémon to step back, and instead he tells the reporters that the Gym Leader went out for a while and where they can find him, most of them start to sprint towards the exit of the resort. Maximiliam seems to know the Gym Leader, maybe they are close?

Besides these three, you can feel someone watching attentively. Someone of the trainers standing in line waiting to enter the Gym. You hope they aren’t mistaking you for the Arsonist again. Or maybe they got another reason to be looking at you?

Also Kali is here. But Kali is not an option. She steals some glances at you, they don’t seem particularly hostile, just regularly hostile. You return them back. She’s with her team, Aracanine is really happy to see you, wagging his tail but Kali tells him to stay put.

You don’t really want to talk to anyone, you could just try to skip this and have Kadabra read somebody’s mind, or better yet, just talk to someone’s Pokémon! That’s always way easier.

[Kadabra]:(Via telepathy) Percy, I’ve been talking to Mimikyu, and we both think this could be a good opportunity to improve your social skills.

[Percy]:Couldn’t we just, you know? Get some info directly from their brains and not deal with the hassle of interacting with humans I’m not accustomed with? Or just do some good old Poké-communication?

[Mimikyu]: Master, if what Mr. Kadabra told me is correct, one of the purposes of this journey humans undertake is to grow as a person. You’ve been improving, but you still have ways to go.

Damn it.

Let’s get some info from…
>Trenchcoat and Tanktop bros! (Chad and Alabaster)
>Kali? It doesn’t hurt to try.
>That delicate looking guy who’s seems familiar. The one with the Ninetales
>Taller Dick. Professional trainer who seems to know the Gym Leader, Maximilliam Blackstone.
>Let’s find out who is the one staring at you so intensely.
>Use your Poké-communication skills to see if there’s any Pokémon with useful info.
>Take the easy way out and have Kadabra read someone’s mind? (Who?)

You approach the thin, delicate looking guy who’s still busy taking care of his Pokémon appearance. He and his Ninetales are quick to take notice of you, the fire type mon takes a quick glance and you and scoffs in disdain, while his trainers take a moment to analyze your team and yourself, his analytical gaze is a bit uncomfortable. He might think you are sort some of creep for the way you were ogling his Pokémon a while ago, you should probably clear that misunderstanding.

Alright, let’s do this Percival, let’s talk to this stranger and get some useful info, it’s not that hard! You are surely getting better at this “social-interaction” stuff, you even talked to girls! Multiple girls! Sure, one of them hates you, you showed your erection to another one, one’s a terrorist, and you sort of got the another one kidnapped. At least everything seems to go well with Vicky.

Alright, stop getting lost in thought, you are just standing in front of him without saying nothing, if you keep this up, he’ll think you are weirdo. Speak up!

[Percy]:Hey…man! How’s it hanging? You are doing good like an Aipom whose powerful tail lets him grab onto branches with a natural ease?
[Percy]: Sorry for staring at your Ninetales, it just that he has such beautiful fur! You are definetly doing a great job with him, he’s looking like a mon straight out of a professional contest. He looks all fluffy and majestic, I got my own little Vulpix, she’s an Alolan variation but maybe you could give me some pointers on how to take care of her grooming?

[Vulpix]: I’m a Wizard with powerful Icy magicks! Tremble upon my might!

[Percy]: Not like I’m sucking up to you or anything, I just, really, really, reaaally like Pokémon. You got no idea.

[Percy]: Oh, no, not in like in an inappropriate way. I’ve got a great interest in them academically, as well as on their welfare and health.

[Percy]: Yeah! Youheard that! No Poké-philia, no sir! (You say that really loudly to get Kali to hear you) I like humans! Humans girls to be specific! I like them like any other healthy 15-year old would! And liking Poké-cosplay is something completely normal! Dick would agree! (You say that even louder to get Kali to hear.)

[Percy]: Sorry, I kind of, ran my mouth for a bit …oh right, the Gym! Ehm, did you already challenged it or know some info about….

[Delicate looking trainer]: It’s unsightly

[Percy]: What?

[1/2]
>>
>>3178465
[Delicate looking trainer]: Your appearance and demeanor, they are unsuitable for this Gym. At the very least, you keep your Pokémon in a presentable albeit lackluster state. Except for your Vulpix, I really like the theme she’s got going on.

[Delicate looking trainer]: If you really want to make an impression, as every trainer should strive for when challenging this Gym, you better work on the way you present yourself and your team!

[Percy]:My presentation? But I took a shower this morning. Oh shit, I didn’t forget to shower right? Nevertheless, you already got your badge?

Ninetales’ trainer flashes you his blue colored Gym Badge proudly, it’s shaped as an strange looking eye with an aqua-colored pupil.

[Delicate looking trainer]: And my Ninetales, doesn’t look like a professional contest Pokémon. He IS a professional contest Pokémon. You have a good eye when it comes to mons, I’ll give you that.

[Delicate looking trainer]: As fellow rejects, not comprehend by those of simpler, crude minds without an eye for beauty I shall lend you a hand. I’ll turn you into the trainer this Gym needs you to be!

[Percy]:Fellow rejects? How do you know I’m a reject? It’s my weirdness that prominent?

Your phone buzzes with a notification, you received a message from Kali.

[Kali]: (ONLINE) Prominent? It’s palpable. You’d had to be blind and deaf to not realize how weird you are.

[Percy]: (ONLINE) Didn’t ask for your opinion!

[Delicate looking trainer]:We should start with your wardrobe, and that hair, ooh, I got some really good ideas for your Houndour, maybe we can get some sort of theme going on…

[Houndour]: I’m not letting HIM touch me, I’ll burn his hand if necessary

How should you respond to this overly-enthusiastic Pokémon coordinator who seems to want to turn you into some sort of fashion project? If you want to explore the abandoned power plant while it’s still early, you should avoid asking too many questions.

>I appreciate your help? But I just want to know what it’s like inside the Gym? If they got any puzzles or mon to watch out for.
>How was your battle with the Gym Leader? What kind of Pokémon did he use? And no, I’m not dressing up for this.

You are bit unsure on how such thing would be of utility on this Gym, but he already got his Badge, so it wouldn’t hurt to listen to what he has to say.

[Percy]: Is my appearance really that important? I mean, it’s a Pokémon Gym, for Pokémon.

[Delicate looking trainer]: Your looks? I think you are misunderstanding me here, it’s not just your outfit it’s the whole way you present yourself, your tone of voice, the way you walk, your pose, how does your team appearance complement or contrast each other.

[Delicate looking trainer]: You see, for REAL Professional Trainers the battle starts before they even get into the battlefield, it’s starts in the moment the public and his opponent lay eyes on them.

[Delicate looking trainer]: Answer me this. What’s the main purpose of a Professional Trainer on this day and age?

[Percy]:To showcase the best raising techniques and battling strategies with a cohesive team specially built up to support one another and compare their effectivity against other teams?

[Delicate looking trainer]:Wrong!

What does he mean by wrong? You are pretty sure you aren’t wrong on this Pokémon related subject!

[Delicate looking trainer]: We, both trainers and coordinators, are entertainers. We have the task to bring joy and fulfillment to those who watch us, we must captivate and move their hearths. That is our purpose!

[Percy]:Oh. Actually, I’m not sure if I’m made for the camera. Also, what does that have to do with getting the Gym Badge?

[Delicate looking trainer]: Silence. Any schmuck with brawn for brains could probably manage to get the badge, with a strong enough team that is. But only those select few of us can really shine on the stage! And for that you need charisma! Which honestly, you are lacking.

Finally, this over-enthusiastic coordinator gets to the point. There’s two possible ways to go through the gym, very different from one another.

[1/2]
>>
>>3180067
The first one is an obstacle course located on the beach, where both trainer and their mons must move across moving platforms, dodge water projectiles, and avoid getting dumped into the sea The trainers you’ll face aren’t particularly strong, but you’ll have to battle in these moving platforms, surrounded by water, it’s a tricky and at times obnoxious environment to battle, the floor is slippery, and your opponents will be trying to make your Pokémon fall off into the sea which counts as a loss.

Everything that happens in the course is recorded and then televised in a comedy show where the main appeal are trainers on their mons falling on their asses to be further ridiculed on a national scale. “Such vulgar form of entertainment” the coordinator says.

The other one is a maze of sorts, an aquarium which host more straightforward battles. But there’s a catch, there will be a group of judges overseeing every battle you participate in, judging and rating your battling style, see if it’s fit for the camera. Make the battle too tedious and repetitive and they’ll take points away from your total score. Lose too many points and you are out.

Not anyone can challenge the Aquarium. Depending on a quick interview and your first battle at the Gym, they’ll decide where do you fit best.

The main benefit of getting trough the Aquarium is, that if you do good enough, you’ll be challenging the Gym Leader in a stellar match, in his private arena on the top of the Dolorosa Paraiso Resort. Which will catch the attention of possible sponsors and Aztlan battling association. It would definitely improve your chances of getting into the Pokémon League of this year.

Even if you opt for the obstacle course, you can still challenge the Gym Leader and get your badge, but you won’t get that extra attention on yourself.

>Let’s accept his help! But let’s do this whole “image-change” thing later, you have to explore an abandoned power plant now
> “Thanks, but no thanks, I’ll just challenge the obstacle course”
> “Actually, I think there’s someone else who needs this more than I do” (Tell him to help Kali out, so she can get a better shot at getting into the league.

We could try both? I don't see why Kali can't join in on the fun lol
>>
>>3180088
Also my reasoning for voting for both is because if Kali were to help her image, with one of Percy's end game goals to help Victoria out, for her to get into the league, & beat Maximillion.

& Victoria still cares for Kali as her sister, and would want them to both like each other better, rather than the current relationship they have now.

We might be able to raise our friendship levels with both Kali & Victiora, if we participate in the "image" change together.

From Thread 16:

>[Kali/Victoria]: I’d like to do something like this again, with you, and her. But using her body is probably the closest I’ll be.

>[Percy]: That’s not true, when we get you out of there we can go camping!

>[Kali/Victoria]: You, me, and her?

>[Percy]:Eh… maybe not with Kali. We could take turns?

>[Kali/Victoria]: Hmph.

>Victoria seems a bit mad at you, so you quickly start to apologize, hurriedly telling her that you could consider maybe, hanging with Kali, from time to time. Just for her.

Hey QM, what were something’s that you expected anons to do that we didn’t or somethings that we did that you did not expect/had other plans for?
>>
>>3185432
From the top of my mind:

Definitely I didn't expect your current relation with Victoria to be what it is, or more specifically Victoria as a whole.

She originally was going to be a really different character, and after you met her, I was thinking you wouldn't want to deal with her too much after she got your arm broken and she would just be a possible boss fight/antagonist.

I was also surprised that you anons didn't try to interact more with the Bounty Hunter. Or that you didn't try to get more info on the revolutionaries from Aleida so they could be prepared for whatever they are planning to do next.

Also the whole thing with the Giant Vespiquen, I didn't expected you to go straight to her, nor trying to help her after seeing the mind-controlled trainers and enslaved mons.

There are some other things, like ignored possible plot points, actually going to Kali's party, etc, I'll add some more things later while I'll run.

Even though you don’t completely agree with his views on Pokémon training it’s true that Professional trainers can benefit from having some showmanship, and this Gym seems to be all about that, if you play it smart you may better your chances of getting a spot on this year’s league. Besides you’ll feel a little bad if you just shot down his enthusiastic offer.

You accept his offer and ask him if he could consider letting someone else tag along.

If you want to help Victoria get out of wherever she’s being held, you’ll have to give Kali a fighting chance against Maximilian, and the first step towards that is helping her get a spot on this year’s league. As much as it annoys you the idea of actively helping Kali. You must do it, for Vicky.

“You mean the girl who’s about to throw down with rising superstar Maximillian Blackstone?”

You take a peek at Kali’s direction, she seems to be engaging in conversation with Maximilian, the blonde tall trainer is sporting his seemingly perpetual shit-eating grin while Kali seems to struggle to maintain her cutesy and proper fake demeanor. And she doesn’t seem to be doing great, her voice seems to crack at times, while she digs her nails deep into her arm. A meltdown seems almost inevitable. He eyes are giving Maximillian a cold, poisonous glare, if looks could kill, the blonde trainer would be death.

You can hear a little bit of their conversation…

[Maximillian]: Enjoying your little vacation? the look of your mons, you seem to be taking it easy

[Kali]: Oh, I just do my best to keep them relaxed and content, as a fellow trainer you should know…

[Maximillian]: I’ve meant to say, that they look weak as shit, even the little “science experiment” you got doesn’t seem that different from any other Prinplup I’ve seen. You really aren’t trying at all.

[Kali]: We’ve been making progress, at our own pace we already got three bad…

[Maximillian]: Stop with the excuses, I don’t blame you for half-assing it. I mean you really don’t have any chances to compete against me nor your sister on this little game of ours. So why bother at all?

[Maximillian]: I guess you and Dick can duke it out for the third place, not like it matters.

[Maximillian]: Well, you can just sit back and relax, post some pictures of yourself and your little team online, get that sweet support and love you don’t get anywhere else.

There’s a something about Maximilian words that seems to upset Kali every time he talks, the girl is visibly upset, her Arcanine growls menacingly trying to tell the blonde trainer to back off, while Pachi the Haunter and Prinplup seem a bit agitated by their trainer’s nervousness.

[Maximillian]: By the way, how’s your sister?

In that moment, you can see something snap in Kali’s expression. She’s trying her hardest to not show it but she’s absolutely livid
>>
>>3188929
[Kali]: Let’s battle. Outside.

Maximial audibly laughs at Kali’s request but decides to humor her, “You really want to be humiliated so badly? Alright, let’s go, time for some target practice.”

The two trainers walk towards the exit. Kali is completely silent while Maximiliam continues to mock her and her team.

The Pokémon coordinator seems to have taken an interest in Kali, he’ll go watch their battle and talk to her after everything is over. But before he goes, you and he exchange phone numbers and contact info, you’ll met him later after when you have time.

>Obtained: Daniel’s contact info.

Huh, that’s a name you are sure you’d heard before.

Now, what should you do?

She's going to need some emotional support, even though Percy isn't good with that stuff.(bringing up our situation with Vicky would be a poor choice)

>Let's watch the battle.

You get out of the hotel an into the beach, there’s a certain spot conditioned for Pokémon Battles, Kali and Maximilian are getting ready to throw down as a crowd gathers around them, most of the spectators came here to see him fight. seems like the older trainer is quite famous. He’s a pro afterall.

The older trainer let’s out his Weavile who voices how uncomfortable this heath is, Maximillian notices his discomfort and dryly tells that he should be efficient if he wants to get back to his ball.
Kali choose Haunter as her first battler, the Ghost . Maximillian seems confident that his mon will be enough to deal with whatever Kali has, “Let’s hurry this up, it’s not like I won’t enjoy putting you in your place but I got way more important things to do”
He keeps provoking Kali, while his Pikachu takes a jab at the girl’s team calling them a “Sorry disgrace for all trained Pokémon, a bunch of graceless brutes” Arcanine seems really riled up, but Kali tells him to save it for the battle, even though she herself seems to be struggling to keep herself calm.

The battle begins, Weavile moves at blinding speed, you can barely a formless shape lounge at Haunter, slashing ferociously. But Pachi the Haunter and Kali where already expecting this type of approach, the Ghost type mon manages to avoid the attack taking advantage of his semi-gaseous nature, transforming himself in a small formless cloud of noxious gasses and passing through Weavile unharmed. The Haunter retaliates with a Confuse Ray in hopes to make his evading game easier, a ball of blinding light robbing Weavile’s attention, rapidly circling trough the battlefield making his head spin.

But it’s not enough to avoid his attack’s completely, even in his confused state Weavile manages to follow up with an unavoidable “Feint Attack” slashing Pachi the Haunter before he gets a chance to get out of his range.
“Will-o-Wisp!” Before Kali even manages to get the word out, Pachi the Haunter has already started to shoot dark colored flames at Weavile, he isn’t evading anymore, putting all his efforts into burning his opponent, causing damage and lowering his Attack.

But that doesn’t stop Weavile of finishing off Pachi the Haunter, with a single Feint Attack, the Ghost mon is done for.

Prinplup is next, wasting no time at all she starts with a “Feather Dance” to further lower her opponent’s attacks and follows up with a successive barrage of “Metal Claw”, her movements are graceful, she seems to be dancing around her opponent. But you can see that every one of her attacks carry a surprising amount of destructive power, every successful hit raising her attack. If she weren’t fighting against a professionally trained Pokémon, her opponent would be already done for.

[1/3]
>>
>>3192328
Prinplup manages to land a couple of well-placed super effective hits in Weavile, but finally succumbs to her opponent’s superior strength and speed.

Kali’s last Pokémon is due, Arcanine steps up into battle, he’s demeanor stills seems rigid and focused, but he seems more akin to a trained soldier than an emotionless machine as he previously acted. The Arcanine starts off with a “Flare Blitz”, greatly damaging the Weavile and receiving some recoil damage in the process, Kali was betting everything in this attack, but she can only watch as Weavile dodges and retaliates against Arcanine, striking at his leg with a “Dark Pulse” making him trip into the ground.

[Maximilian]: “Learn to stay on the ground, stupid mutt”

As Arcanine tries to stand again, Weavile lounges at his opponent, going for the kill, his claws seem to glimmer under the sunlight before he drives them deep into Arcanine’s guts.
But after being weakened by the *Burn* and the *Feather Dance* the attack isn’t strong enough to knock Arcanine out.
The Fire type barely manages remain conscious, and retaliates with a devastating “Reversal”, the power of his attack strengthened by his precarious condition! The barrage of attacks coupled with the persistent damage caused by the Will-o-Wisp’s *burn* is enough to knock Weavile out!

>>3175491
>Kali rolled a 100

>Kali and her team managed to defeat Weavile!

The Arcanine looks back to his trainer, battered, hurt, but proud.
She’s smiling.
But for some reason she seems different.
It looks, genuine.
She doesn’t even seem to realize she’s smiling.

[Maximilian]: What a pain in the ass, now I got to stop at a Pokémon center. Scizor, finish this up.

Scizor steps up to the battlefield, he moves fasts, and using his right pincer he clamps down and hard unto Arcanine’s neck, in one swift motion he drives the Pokémon to the ground before pummeling repeatedly with his other Pincer. Kali tries to command her Pokémon to retaliate but Arcanine doesn’t even get a chance to react.

[Maximilian]: Sheesh, what an embarrassment, being beaten by some no-name rookie trainer.

[Maximilian]: Whatever, seems like I won that. I hope you enjoyed your little victory.

[Maximilian]: It’s the closest you’ll ever be to beating me. Well, see ya.

[2/3]
>>
>>3192328

Maximilian walks out of the place, he seems a bit annoyed. His Pikachu says that this was only a fluke and it won’t ever happen again. Most of the crowd seems to follow Maximilian, and the few that don’t just return to whatever they were doing.

Kali’s smile is no longer present.

Solemnly, she returns Arcanine to his ball, while muttering. “You did good, we’ll do better, next time”.

That battle was insane, the fights where stupidly fast, Maximillian mon's seemed to be in complete sync with his trainer, moving even before his trainer finished commanding him, it's surprising Kali managed to keep up with him. She's certainly stronger than before.

You don't want to admit it, but you don't think you would be able to defeat that Weavile with only three mons.

You decide to leave Kali to her own and head to the abandoned Hydroelectric plant.

-------------------------
It's a long walk but you finally found yourself in your destination

At the edge of the city, in an old, run down looking building stands at the end of a pier, it seems to go down into the water, the whole place is full of signs reading "Off-limits". The image of this place seems to clash with the rest of Lacrimosa bay.

Also, it sees like you aren't alone, there are various trucks and vehicles around the place, all of them have the "BlackStone" Logo on them.

They are a couple of employees of their security division guarding the entrance, they don't seem as threatening as Eli's dad, but you can tell they are armed...with Pokémon! Also guns but those are arguably less dangerous.

The guards seem to be waiting for someone before entering the installations themselves.

You could try distracting the guards' 'mon by throwing a few berries their way or using Victoria, but the latter might make us look like we're just using her.

Have Kadabra and Prince distract the guards-- Prince gets their attention by talking, and Kadabra teleports the both of them around to lead the guards away. After we sneak in, Kadabra can teleport back to us.

You decide to hide under the pier with the rest of your team plus Kadabra as you await whoever the pair of security guards are waiting for. Vulpix is dead bored after 20 minutes of waiting, wanting to jump into action but she’s restrained by Mimikyu.
After a while you can hear a large truck approaching. The vehicle park nears the entrance, you guess that they’ve come to retrieve something inside the Hydroelectric Power Plant.
From the truck, an old man comes out, he walks with a limp while sporting a tired and seemingly pissed expression. You recognize his face, it’s your paternal grandfather Arthur, a mean old bastard. Is he working with Blackstone now? Following him are various uniformed men, he seems to be the leader of the group.
[Arthur]: “Alright, listen up you bunch of failures, we got some work to do…”
It’s hard to eavesdrop on their conversation, but getting closer could alert them of your presence, thankfully you got a mind reading companion alongside you, Kadabra.

The Psychic mon concentrates as the armed men start to move towards the entrance of the abandoned installations.

Kadabra informs you that they are entering the Hydroelectric plant and dividing themselves in three groups. Group A seems to be the largest one, half a dozen guards and is directly commanded by your asshole grandfather, they seem to be heading to what they called “The Yellow Facility” with the goal of retrieving some of the “specimens” as well as some machinery.

Group B is composed of 4 security guards, they are headed to “The computer room” in order to retrieve some important data and files that Blackstone is looking for, “Some dirt on White Veil labs our boss is just dying to get his hands on, so don’t fuck this up”
And finally, group C, the smallest one with only two security guards and what it seems to be a technician are headed to “the lighthouse” their goal is to get the “The D.P tracker” to work once again. Your grandfather told this group to “Contact that cunt Maximillian once you get the damn thing to work”

As they made enter the run-down Hydroelectric plant, you follow behind, trying to be as careful and silent as possible.

>Follow Group A and your grandfather into the Yellow Facility. (Requires roll to not be noticed. HARD)
>Follow Group B, try to get to the computer room before they do and let’s get that info on White-Veil. Could be useful in helping Vicky. (Requires roll: Medium)
>Follow Group C, let’s get to the lighthouse before they do. Maybe you can stop whatever they are planning to do. (Requires roll: Medium-Easy)

The armed men enter the derelict building, you and your team following closely behind, tiptoeing, trying to be as silent as possible.

The place is ample and obscure, the only source of light is a couple of scarce broken windows, seems like there’s no electricity to power the lights on. This is good, the surrounding darkness will make it harder for you and your group to be noticed.

You can hear the voice of your grandpa saying that his group “will get the power running in no time”, seems like you got a time limit, once the lights are on you’ll be much easier to find, considering you are accompanied by six Pokémon, and getting them inside their Pokéballs will probably alert the security guards.

You decide to follow the medium sized group heading to the computer room.
You ask Loudred to hand you her *Silk Scarf* and she obliges. Wasting no time, you tie it around your face, similarly as how Eli wears her bandana, this way you can at least protect your identity if you are found out.
Surrounding you, you are able to notice the sound of quick movements and rustling, must be the Pokémon inhabiting this place trying to get a look at the group of invaders.
After a while, the Blackstone employees split up.
Thanks to Kadabra improved mind-reading he already has an idea as to where the computer room is located.
Having a psychic mon around is really convenient, you make a mental note to thank him for his help later.
The only problem is, can you reach it before they do, without being noticed?

>97: Great Success!

Using your well-honed skills of avoiding other humans being, developed after many years of avoiding any sort of direct social interaction with people, and with the help of Kadabra natural psychokinetic abilities you manage to go through the facility completely unnoticed!

The psychic mon uses his “Telekinesis” to carry Loudred around, since her steps are particularly heave.
”Sorry, I’ve been eating more than usual these” apologizes the flustered mon, you tell her it’s normal, she’s a growing girl after all.

Vulpix tries to tease her about her weight, but Mimikyu promptly shushes her off.

As you and your team get closer to the group of grunts, you all start to search to any alternate ways to get into the computer room.

Even though the Blackstone guards failed to notice you, you are found out by a little Joltik who’s acting as a Vanguard, using your Poké-communication skills to tell her you are no threat, and bribing the bug-type with one of the snacks you bought yesterday, she tells you how to get to the computer room using the emergency exit. You thank the little bug and head her advice.

After going trough, a different set of old, run down rooms and hallways, you are finally on the computer room. Since there’s no light source it’s pretty dark in here, thankfully you bought a “Flashlight” for your trip before leaving your home city.

Most of the stuff here is disorganized, laying down carelessly on the floor, as if whoever was here had to flee without a notice.

There are various hard-drive that seem to be broken down, most of them seem unusable, and even if they worked, they are probably encrypted or protected in one way or another. And you got no computer skills beyond finding the best Poké-cosplay sites online… for research purposes obviously.

But there’s something you can get your hands on. Physical data!

After rummaging around in the room, you find a broken locker containing three boxes with research papers, all of them with different labels.

“INJECT Project” This one seems to be in a better state than the other two, it seems to contain more recent documents, the box is open and a some of them seems missing, somebody must have taken a part of these documents when they fled the place.

The next one reads “BEHEMOTH Project” it seems in worse state than the previous one, probably has older files too.

And finally, stashed away in a corner of the locker beneath the other boxes, almost as if it was forgotten or purposely hidden, there’s one simply labeled “D.P.”

You get ready to search for anything of use in these boxes when you start hearing steps and human voices heading your way. You don’t have much time, before they enter this room. They are 4 Blackstone security guards, all of them have Pokémon with them, but you have no idea how strong their teams are.

Kadabra advises to take whatever you need quick, get your team on their Pokéballs and teleport out of here.
Which documents are you taking?

Or maybe, you can try something else…

Why wouldn't Kadabra be able to teleport himself, us, and all three boxes.
>>
>>3197482
It's completely viable to do so anon!

Transporting large amounts of things requires Kadabra to concentrate more than usual.

Meaning, you'll need to roll to not mess up the teleportation.

>DC: Medium-Hard for you and the three heavy boxes.
>>

Let's take these 2 mostly here for info for Vivi, we at least know what a behemoth or have an idea of what a behemoth is if we want information we can try to speak with the Yellow King.

Okay guys, our plan here is to make it back to the hotel with all three boxes, then once we're safe we work with Kadabra to send all of these over to Professor Maple. When we do, we gotta emphasize utmost discretion, because if Blackstone or White Veil finds out she has these documents they might try to disappear her.
>>

On that note, we should make back-up copies in case she does get ghosted.

>Take all three.

The men are getting closer and closer, you can hear them converse non-chalantly about which one of the.

[Grunt#1]:“Medabots was great, it felt more grounded you know? Like it could happen someday. Digimon was just dumb, anybody knows that the limits of digital lifeforms is Porygon”

[Grunt#2]:“It’s not about being realistic, Medabots were just robots, Digimon could be literally anything! And Digi-evolving was the coolest shit!”

[Grunt#3]:“…I liked Monster Rancher”

[Grunt#2]:“Fuck you Alan, Monster Rancher sucks!”

For some reason, you never got the appeal of none of those series.

You trust Kadabra he’s got a pretty solid grasp of his teleporting abilities, after saving you and your companions from being lost in the desert and getting everyone to safety in a hostage situation you are sure he can deal with teleporting you, your baggage and all the boxes holding documents.

You get everyone inside of their Pokéballs to make the act easier on your mon. The sudden flash of red-lights and the sound of the Pokéballs activating seems to alert the blackstone guards.

“Who’s there?”
“You are trespassing private property! Show yourself with your hands in the air!”
The men rush inside the room, throwing their Pokéballs into the air and unleashing their mons to appear more intimidating.
Kadabra better get you out of here quickly!

>Successful pass.

Kadabra’s eyes shine for a moment.
Before the grunts have any chance to react you, all the documents and your teleporting friend find yourselves outside of the Hydroelectric power plant, in front of the main entrance.

You can faintly hear the sound of a commotion occurring inside of the run-down facility, raging growls and screams of what sounds like a group of Pokémon composed mainly of Electabuzz and Elekid, thunderous explosions let you know that there’s a battle going on inside, and by the pained moans and growls you are hearing, the Electabuzz group seems to be losing.

[Kadabra]: You got what you were looking for?

Questions your psychic pal, while eyeing the stack of papers you’ve recovered.

[Percy]: I hope so, there must be something useful in here.

You pile up all three boxes, one over the other and try to carry them all. But your skinny arms are too weak to accomplish the task, barely managing to lift the boxes mere centimeters of the ground. Kadabra helps you out by making them float with his mind powers.
[Kadabra]: I am intrigued, what are you trying to accomplish with this Percy?

What’s your main motivation for doing all of this?

>"I just want to look for something that could help Victoria"
>Whatever White Veil and Blackstone are trying to do, It's sketchy, somebody needs to expose their shady business.
>Knowledge is power, and after those Raticate kicked our asses, I think we need as much power as possible, if we ever have to face something like that again.
>I just guessed it could be useful to have some dirt on White Veil.

Also, what are you doing with all these boxes full of important looking papers?

>Teleport them back to the Villa you are staying at, you want to check them personally first.

>Teleport them back to the safest place you know, your room back in North Pas city.

>Contact Daniel, the Pokémon coordinator, he promised to help you with your image for the Gym.

>Contact Gareth and see what’s he doing, he was going to teach you how to use a gun.

Teleporting them to the Villa is just asking for them to be investigated by our friends, at least at home we can view them privately before sending them to Dr. Maple.

Percy just wants to help Vicky, but he's not retarded. He's autistic enough to notice all the connections and get some idea of the D.P. Tracker stuff and Behemoths being important.
>Teleport them back to the Villa you are staying at, you want to check them personally first.
Better to give Kadabra some time to relax and guard the documents while we check them. Also better to make sure Dr. Maple is in position to receive the boxes - if we teleport them now and she's not over there, it could get bad. Real fucking bad.
