The T-54s continue down from the north, five of them total. You take a look at your scoring. Seems so far, you’ve eliminated 9 T-54s out of her 30. You’re actually winning in the attrition war. Hell, part of you wonders if you should run right back around and get at Mei herself. But no, this isn’t the time to get cocky. Not one bit. Those T-54s are aiming to stop up the retreat. And if that happens, there’s going to be a big pile up on this highway where Mei and crew can take advantage.

“Fire!” you yell. All of you fire a few shots at the T-54s. Too far, but it’s just to let them know you’re watching. The shots bounce and land among their formation. But they continue on. They fire back, this time, more accurate, some of their rounds scraping against your side and turret. Okay. Maybe a little too cocky.

“They’re going to be going into that little town!” says Dalia. “We gotta stop them!”

“Alright, everyone back to Griselda, let’s go!” You take all the tanks back eastward to help Griselda. Five T-54s could mean the difference between Mei catching up with Griselda or a speedy retreat. You look over and see the sun beginning to set. Has it really been nearly a whole day since you started this match? Jesus Christ. You continue on east.

You find Griselda and company in the little town on the intersection of the highway. “Griselda, what’s the word?” you ask.

“The word is that Mei drove us in two and got me and whoever I could find out of the city. So far here, I have myself, Serafina, Regina, Serina, Benny, Jane, Hadley, Iris, Perrine, Salome, Dix, Meryl, Amy, and Oryola. But I can’t find the others.” Right. You list that off then.

Minus the ones who were recently eliminated. That means Suvorov, Benny, Duchess, Kathy, Mackenzie, Orange Pekoe are missing.

Perrine says, “Mei was driving them up northwards. But I don’t think she herself was pursuing, I think she done got another team to drive them off while she came out west to get to us.” You see now. Alright, even if the numbers are now on your side, she’s split the team up so that now things are a little more even. “I dunno how many tanks she devoted though. But I think she’s coming up behind us with most of her team and with the Object.”

“There were another five T-54s coming too,” you say. “Down here. But it looks like we beat them.” That or they’re waiting outside to coordinate the strike with Mei.

Griselda says, “If we keep running, Mei can just pick us off at her leisure. We have to stand our ground. Elodie, if I let you have the fast tanks, can you try some kind of flanking maneuver around them, see if you can get behind Mei or something?”

“We don’t have much time,” says Iris. “So a decision now would be good.”

“Alright. I’ll take the lights and cruisers and try and flank from the south.” That means taking Eylse, Lyra, Denise, Maria, Rosehip, and Dalia. “You guys stand your ground, we’ll try to catch them in a pincer move.”

“Alright,” says Griselda. “Everyone set up! Jane, Serina, I want you down blocking the road! Everyone else, take up firing positions!”

“Yeah, alright, hit the music!” yells Jane. She switches music on the loudspeakers on her Jagdtiger, blaring them out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk_wUT1CvWM

You take your team out and away. The seven of you go down through the south of town, then start looping east. Just in time to hear the blast of cannons and guns. You take out your binoculars and take a looksee to see what’s going on.

So far, like you predicted, the heavy tank is taking the lead. The big flat pancake of a tank is sliding rounds off from that 128 on the Jagdtiger and the 88 on the King Tiger with ease. And it fires back, the high explosive round between them actually managing to shake them up. But Serina and Jane refuse to yield their position. If anything, them blocking the road into town means Mei’s tanks will have to split up to get around them.

As for you, you haven’t begun your assault yet. The Object is blowing a cloud of concealing smoke behind it to mask who exactly is behind it and how many. The cloud is big enough that it could be Mei’s entire remaining team behind them or it could just be one tank.

Right, what should you do?

Might be able to get a better count on how many tanks they have.
Tell Serina and Jane to target the Object's tracks, there are four of the damned things and they are pretty exposed, should be able to stop it for a while. Thn the tanks in the smoke either have to hang back or go on without it. If we can separate them it will make taking out the Object a lot easier.

“Wait up, let’s wait for them to enter the town,” you say. Everyone comes up to your sides. You watch the cloud of smoke, waiting for the Object to enter. The Object fires directly at the King Tiger. The shot knocks the turret nearly off the ring, and pops the engine block and the hatches. You cringe. That’s a kill.

> KO: SERINA HILDEBRAND (Tiger II(P) “Cub”)

Jane’s Jagdtiger starts backing up. But the Object has already closed in. Jane’s Jagdtiger fires. The shot explodes against the sloped armor. And to that, the Object fires again, shredding the Jagdtiger’s tracks and stopping it in place. The Object continues past, as do the T-54s as well. Alright. All of you begin your charge.

> MOBILITY KILL: Jane Fogerty (Jagdtiger)

You rush through the field come down onto the field behind their column. The smoke cloud remains. Right. You continue moving up. And then you think. Wait. Mei has to know something will be coming, right? She can’t have just gone into a city and not expected some kind of flanking maneuver.

“Stop!” you shout. You all stop the tanks. Several shots fly out of the cloud, bouncing and exploding on the road! You knew it! She prepared for this! The smoke dissipates enough to reveal seven T-54s pointing at you, behind the Jagdtiger’s gun as Jane and her crew hurry to repair it.

We have six tanks iirc, or is it seven. A number of those tanks are elites to boot regardless, and we'll need to pull out something special to match Mei's blocking force so we'll start with smoke screen from everyone, then the first three machines to leave the screen will start a triangle, but then the rest of our force will join it, creating a bermuda triangle within a bermuda triangle so to speak. We'll use this to close with and attack the ZES group from all sides, overwhelming them before they can formulate a counter to our new manoeuvre. I'm fine paying a CP premium for this.

“Alright, everyone got the plan?”

“Got it!” says Dalia.

“It’s bold, I love it!” Maria cries out.

All of you release smoke out in front of you. The T-54s continue to fire away. You pop out of the smoke cloud, with Maria and Denise behind you. You start a streaking powerslide to their left side. Then Dalia, Elyse, Lyra, and Rosehip come out next. They start a Bermuda triangle attack on the other side as well. Come on!

They start moving forward instead of trying to retreat or backing up. Oh shit! You fire a shot at one of the T-54s. More shots fly out as people start clashing. You see Lyra spin out, a flag popped out on her turret.

“We’re done for! WIN THIS ONE FOR ME, ELODIE! AAAHHH!” Lyra screams.

> KO: LYRA CALDWELL (Comet I “Carl”)

Dalia gets crashed into by a T-54. Unfortunately, her thin armor does not hold up against it and the T-54 ends up crawling right over her frontal hull. “AVENGE ME, BENNY! AVENGE ME!” Benny probably can’t hear her, but the spirit is likely going to reach out to her.

You fire another shot, hitting that T-54 straight in its suspension. It burst into flames, stopping on top of Dalia’s tank.

> KO: ESTHER KINGSLEY (T-54-3) *ELITE*
> KILL CREDITED TO: ELODIE R. ZUMWALT (Comet I “Oliver”)

Maria speeds in between everyone, as does Denise. Denise crashes straight into the rear of a T-54, stopping before speeding away. The T-54 tries to turn to fire but it gets hit straight through its side armor.

> KO: ILYA MACINTRE (T-54-3) *ELITE*
> KILL CREDITED TO: ROSEHIP (Crusader III “Thunder Child”)

As this happens, battle is joined in the town proper. You hear shots pop off nearby as you all brawl and clash, trying to get shots off on each other.

> KO: CAROLINA “SWAMP FOX” GREENE
> KILL CREDITED TO: MEI XIANG (T-54-3 “Jinbu”) *LEGENDARY* *ELITE*

It’s an all-out brawl here in the city as shells fly everywhere left and right. There’s still some T-54s here fighting against your lights in a bloody carnage of tanks while inside, Mei and her tanks continue to whittle away at your numbers. You’ll be honest, you’re nervous. You’re not sure if holding this town is viable anymore.

“Stand your ground!” yells Griselda. “If she wants to fight us on our terms, let her!”

A T-54 smashes the wreck of another out of the way, aiming its cannon towards your front. Rosehip, Maria, and Denise are still in the fight along with Elyse. It fires, the shot scrapes against your side, ripping the side panels off and almost shredding the tracks. “Damage!?”

“We’re fine!” yells Stack. “Suspension’s holding steady!”

“This is Oryola.” Oryola calls out over the radio. “I have sight of Object 279. Little Captain, are you there!?”

“Who, me?” asks Captain Spruance.

“Yes, you! Do follow me!” yells Oryola. “We shall show that giant pancake who is being the best tanker!”

The remaining T-54s in the group start backing away into the town, pressing their engine blocks together. The three of them try to pop smoke to cover their own retreat.

“Let them go!” you yell. “We need to get back and help Griselda!” The only remainder of your group now is Elyse, Rosehip, Maria, and Denise. You give them some parting shells, but too late. They’ve disappeared into smoke cloud cover. Nerve of them. Alright. You gotta make sure that Griselda is A-OK. If she isn’t, there’s going to be trouble.

“We’ll be okay!” says Jane. “Go get them! We’ll fix our tracks!” You’d love to stay and help, but you have to keep mobile here.

Truth be told, you’ve looked at the casualty listing yourself. You’re actually winning on that front. But Mei’s managed to split the team in two. You’re down effectively six tanks. And if they don’t come back, you might as well be outnumbered. The only thing you can hope for now is that you can work the attrition down in your favor but even then, Mei (given credit) is an incredibly skilled opponent. Not Griselda, not Iris, hell even you would have trouble with her. She could easily solo the team in the right conditions even in an unfamiliar T-54.

Right. You take a breath. Think. She’s likely not going for the flag however. She’s probably thinking you will go back to help her. But given what’s going on in town… yeah, you have to go back for the flag. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. If you don’t go back, Griselda is toast. But if you do go back, then Griselda is out a few tanks.

Your tanks start pulling back around the way you came.

You come back onto the road, then start heading into town. “Griselda, you hearing me?” you ask.

“Yeah!” Griselda calls back to you. “You managed to blunt their advance, they had to devote a lot of tanks to stop you! But I don’t think we can hold this town for very long! I think I’m going to have to retreat again!”

You drive down a town road and find Griselda and her tank along with Meryl and Iris. Iris pokes her head up out of her hatch. “We’re going to need to block up Mei’s advance so Griselda can get away. I’ll stay here and do what I can while you all keep heading westwards.”

Griselda looks back at her. “Iris, you can’t do that alone!”
>>
“She won’t,” Meryl says. “I’ll stay too. Serafina can go with you all. We have to stop the Object as well.”

“Guys, this ain’t a movie, I’m not going to sacrifice people to save my own skin!” Griselda shouts.

“You’re not sacrificing anybody. We’re choosing to do this,” Meryl says firmly. Meryl looks to you. “Elodie. Oryola and Captain Spruance could use your help taking down the Object. Can you go to them?”

“No, I’ll stay with Griselda and make sure she gets out okay. We can’t go chasing after kills. If they can delay the Object, sure. But we shouldn’t throw ourselves at it hoping for one kill when the real objective is Mei.” Meryl nods. She understands the sentiment. “Meryl, Iris. If you two can get a shot, please take it. This is bigger than me.”

“I understand,” says Meryl.

Iris drives her Churchill closer to you, then she gives you a salute. “Farewell. If we are to die this day, let us make it an end worth remembrance.” A little dramatic but you won’t comment. She buttons up into her hatch then drives away. Meryl too, she nods to you.

Griselda looks crushed. “Griselda.” She looks at you. “Come on. We’ll take the west road.”

Right then. You still don’t know the location of your missing tanks. But at the very least, Mei will have to have devoted a good number of T-54s just to keep them on the run. And hopefully they know to follow the sound of cannon fire as you cross away from the battle. Now the question is where do you go? Mei will certainly follow. And you’ll have to choose a position worth taking.

All you can think of though is that Mei will likely pursue you no matter what. And given the fact that destroying the flag tank is the only objective in this match. Your tanks will only be roadblocks. However, there is one thing that’s coming. You look up.

Night. It’s fast approaching.

Have Griselda hed west with all of our group except us and 2 or 3 fast tanks. We move north or south a bit then follow behind fro a good distance. The goal is to let any pursuing forces follow behind Griselda where we can sneak up and sandwich them in the mountains. Using the cover of night we should be able to get the drop on them, maybe stop for a short bit while they pass. Are the T-54s equipped with any sort of night or thermal vision?
>>
>>3177321
I'll back this, and T-54s only got night vision in the T-54A, while these are T-54-3s, which in full scale production became the regular T-54, no night vision capabilities.

Well hopefully we can thin their numbers again

“Alright, who do I have?” you ask. You have right now Maria, Denise, Rosehip, yourself, and Elyse. All for the sake of safeguarding Griselda. “Alright. We’re going to follow behind Griselda. Rosehip, Elyse.”

“Yeah?” asks Elyse.

“Follow me. We’re going to divert a little and stagger behind, see if we can’t catch anyone trying to pursue.”

“Got it!” says Rosehip.

With that, you all get going out westwards. You take a breath and sigh. Your heart is pounding. And it’s probably unhealthy for it to be doing so the entire day. But you managed to survive. Barely you suppose. You grab onto the hatch and think to yourself. This is really it. It comes down to a flag match that’s being fought like an elimination battle.

As you drive down on the western highway, night falls. No T-54s were actively pursuing at the moment. Instead you hear the sound of cannons as you leave away.

“This is Judge Joyce.” The radio calls out. “To facilitate the match continuing on, an airdrop of fuel will be dispensed at the Team Commander’s discretion.” Great, more fuel. That’d be wonderful. “Please note, this will be your only refuel.” Griselda calls down the airdrop ahead of her on the highway. A C-130 flies overhead. And you see several more flying across the battlefield dropping pallets filled with fuel drums and cans. You take note on the map.

So far, Mei isn’t pursuing. She’s likely tied down back in town. It seems Iris and Meryl’s blocking action may have saved you. You take note of your remaining team members. Aside from the ones missing at the start and Oryola, Duchess is missing as well.

> MOBILITY KILL: PINA DE LOPEZ (T-54-3) *ELITE*

Huh. Interesting. You wonder who did that.

Griselda says, “We’re going to refuel then head onto the highway, Elodie. Got a defensive plan once we’re done refueling?” Thinking on it now, Mei is probably getting cautious. She does have several tanks behind her after all. At this point, the likely conflict now is whether she wants to pursue or if she wants to secure her flank. Either really benefits you. If she pursues, she’ll have tanks at her rear. If she stays, then she loses the initiative to you.

> “We’ll set up in the city and wait for her.”

“We’ll set up in the city and wait for her, Griselda. I got an idea too. Given that it’s just the few of us versus probably Mei’s entire team, we should try and pull some shenanigans. I say if we can find a logging building or something, we take some logs, start setting them all up all around, see if we can’t get her to bite.”

“I like that,” says Griselda. “We’ll get ourselves refueled first.” Truth be told, you’re not even sure that Mei will fall for something like that. She’s an experienced tanker after all. But it’s dark now. And with the winter coming in, the darkness is going to last quite a while. At the very least, seeing dummy tanks that she can’t readily identify will make her hesitate before attacking rather than just straight up shooting at them. That seems like something she would do.

With that, you drive up to the airdrop site. All of you dismount and hurriedly get the tanks resupplied. At the same time, Mei is likely doing the same thing. After a long time refueling, you toss the empty drums and get back onto the road to the city.

You look back and see. You see a large cloud of smoke behind you as you make your way to Chengdu. Mei’s coming after you. She’s a long way away, but she’ll catch up. And by God, you’ll be prepared to face her this time.

You slam your fist against the roof of the turret. This time for sure, this is where it ends.

You dig the pick into the ground further then pull up the earth. There, Stack and Ingrid roll a long wooden log into position. A few miles outside the city, you were setting up a fake defensive position filled with three tanks. Obviously you can’t mimic the flag tank. All of you were running on fumes at the moment, given that it was now nighttime and sleep unfortunately would mean allowing Mei to catch up to all of you. Thankfully, Winona had a good plan. She managed to get some coffee in. All of you take a sip of coffee from some cups. It’s not exactly flavorful, but it’s coffee.

Winona sighs, frowning a little. “I wanna go to sleep.”

“We can’t, Mei might be over the hill any minute,” you say.

“I know.” Winona leans over and brushes up against you. “Can I use your legs for pillows, Ellie?”

“No.” She grumbles in response to that, loudly. You look at Stack. “Think this’ll fool them?”

“I think so.” Stacks grins, her toothy smile visible even in the darkness of night. “Way I see it, Ellie, in this dark she’s gotta risk exposing herself by testing to see if this is a fake position. Or she’s gonna let go the initiative and wait until morning. Or she just skips by with the constant stress of whether this position is real or not!” She places her hands triumphantly on her hips. “Ain’t I clever?”

“At most you are,” Ingrid mutters. Stack sticks her tongue out at her.

You sigh, rubbing your eyes a little. You step back up to Oliver and climb on up. You take the radio from inside then contact Griselda. “Gris, it’s Ellie. You guys set up in the city?”

“Yeah, we found a garage to hide in for now,” says Griselda.

Rosehip says, “We’ve set up on the south end in case they go the long way.”

“Myself and Denise are here as well with Griselda,” Maria says.

“I’ve set up on the north end, I’ll give them long ranged fire if they come rolling in,” says Elyse. Good, good. You take a breath, sighing deeply. “So far, I don’t see anything coming over the way. Do you think they’ll be coming?”

“I don’t know,” you say. Right. Your body is giving up on you a little.

“Anyone want to volunteer to take watch?” you ask.

Stack says, “I’ll do it, ya wimps. If you need to sleep, sleep.” Thank God. You won’t be too excited about it, but you’ll just be glad that Stack is dedicated to the job. Everyone climbs into the tank then settles into their seats. This isn’t going to be the most comfortable sleep you’ve had. But it’s a damn sight better than the old place back in Trenton. You sigh, leaning back and shutting your eyes as you sit in the command chair. It’s going to be rough. But sleep is sleep.

“Wake us up in an hour or two, Stack. Or if you see them,” you order.

“Righto.”

Stack wakes you up with a start, slapping your face. “Ellie, wake up. Damn it, you were having a nice dream too! You quickly unbutton out of the tank. Stack sits in the loader’s hatch and hands you the binoculars. “That look like something to you?” You take a look where Stack points.

True to form, you do see the movement of something way out to the west, going northwesterly. They’re obscured in smoke and dust, but it’s clear to you that those are Mei’s tanks. You can’t tell for sure how many there are though. But if you’d have to take a guess, it might be the rest of her team minus the ones chasing your missing tanks around. And judging by their movement speed, probably the Object is with them.

Why go north though? They’re likely moving to sweep you down into the southern exit. Or maybe they just want to stay together after seeing how poorly splitting up went. Hmph.

Right. What should you do from here?

You hold out your hand. Stack quickly puts your cup of coffee in it, then you take a sip. It’s gone cold, but that’s fine. The caffeine is what you need, not the flavor. You take a look at their silhouetted forms in the darkness. They’re continuing further north. It seems they’re going for an extremely long flank. Maybe they saw your little defensive position and thought that it’d be too hard to overcome even with their T-54s. Or maybe…

Maybe your fake defensive position made them rethink going down this direction. They probably think you’re all sleeping. And obviously the rumble of tanks would wake anybody up. Judging by how quiet their movement is, they’re not pushing their engines too hard, and they’re definitely going slowly. Yes. Yes! They’re trying to sneak their way in! You smirk. Well, it seems to have failed. “Elyse. “Do you see anything north?” you ask.

“We do!” says Elyse. “They’re not in range yet but we’re ready to attack when they come in.” Hm. Maybe not. But you definitely now have the drop on them. You may be outnumbered here, but now you figured out what their plan may be.

Have the rest of our squad head into the city for ambush postions. We will flank them, and if the opportunity for a good shot comes in, we take it. if not, keep a low profile and don't get to engaged, we pulled this trick before so they aren't like to fall for it again. We need to be in a position to scram.
Make sure Griselda has a good hidey-hole, with several avenues of escape. Would it be possible to just park her in an garage with the door shut?

“Alright, Eylse, everyone, go set up an ambush inside the city. I’m going to go and flank around them, see if I can’t hit them from behind.”

“Got it,” says Elyse.

You lean down and whistle, your sharp cry echoing inside the tank and waking everyone. “Josephina, we got work to do!”

Your tank starts forward. You take a look at the map once more. Judging by their avenue of advance, they’ll be going through Mianyang and Deyang to get to the city proper. Very predictable. But you suppose Mei in some arrogance is thinking you won’t try to flank her. She might be thinking a flank is coming. But you’ll maybe take her by surprise. At the very least, a delay of her arrival will be useful for the team as a whole.

You go around the highways until you come up around her southern side. They’ve already passed and are about to enter the city limits. Now, truth be told, you’ve thought about this. Mei has probably already seen the consequences of you flanking her team. She’ll likely have something good guarding the rear. And given that she outnumbers you here immediately, she has tanks to spare on you.

You lean back and sigh. “Alright. Josephina, take us forward. Slowly.”

With that, you take the tank forward. You can see the smoke cloud up ahead, the big obscuring blanket in which Mei’s tanks were gathering. You take a look through the binoculars. You see two tank-like silhouettes in the smoke, about a half kilometer out. Then you see flashes. “Evade!” you shout.

The tank swerves right, crashing over a bus stop. The shots skid off the street where you once were and speed off into a building. You look down and see T-54s, coming to stop you. Ah, Mei did know!

Fine, you’ll make something of this yet!

Flares start shooting up into the sky as the T-54s enter the city and you begin your engagement with these two T-54s. They stop up and fire another volley at you. You keep the tank swerving and spinning around to dodge their attacks. “Son of a bitch!” Stack holds on for dear life as Josephina pulls out every trick in the book to keep the shots from landing accurately.

“I’m gonna be sick!” Ingrid screams.

“Not in the tank!” Winona shouts.

A shell flies past, another bounces off the top of the turret, nearly hitting you. Okay, good excuse to button up. You get back in and look through the periscope instead. They’re holding the road, about four hundred meters away and closing. You’re not sure if the 77mm can penetrate the T-54 from the front. Especially considering they’re smart enough to know when to dodge and when you’re going to fire.

Alright, you’re going to have to figure something out here before one of them gets lucky.

“Alright, Josephina, get us away from this rabble!”

“Oui!” Josephina turns Oliver around, then quickly speeds him back down the road away from the incoming shells. They continue firing, but she has the good sense to keep her swerving and evasive maneuvering up as you retreat away. You take a look back and see the T-54s aren’t following you. Damn. You were hoping to pull them away a little further. But you suppose you can’t bite off more than you can chew right now. Those two T-54s represent a large portion of Mei’s fighting force anyway. Just diverting them away from the fight is enough to catch Mei off guard.

You hear a loud boom coming from the city. That was probably the Object.

“It’s the Object!” screams Elyse. “Save yourselves!”

You take a look at the map once more. Alright.

From what you understand, Mei is probably already in the city by now. Maria, Denise, and Rosehip are probably setting up their ambushes as they get in further. And as for Griselda, she’s hopefully chosen a good spot to hide until this all blows over. The last thing you need is for her to get into a scrap and lose. You look back again. The T-54s turn around then continue on into the city. Hmph, they think you’re not going to follow.

“In here!” The tank turns into an alleyway then stops to a dead halt. “Right. Back us out slowly.” The tank slowly backs out so you can get a look at them. They are continuing on. “Hm. Alright, Josephina, take us out, follow them. But keep it slow and smooth. I don’t want them to get any ideas.”

“We going to follow them?” asks Winona.

“Yep.” Hopefully they’ll continue on thinking you fell back. They might hang back just to make sure you don’t try to flank their team and split them up or cause chaos. But either way, a city brawl benefits you, not them. In the open, you’re dead meat. But if you can close to within a hundred meters or less, then you should be golden.

You follow them into the city and hear more cannon shots echo and pop off all around.

“Negative!” Rosehip says. “I can’t see her among the column!”

“Did she split off?” asks Denise.

Wait. Mei split off from the column? Unless. She’s going to try and hunt the girls one by one. They’re all separated! They’ll never survive against her on their own!

> Get everyone back together!
> INTUITION: - 2 CP

“Maria, Denise, Elyse, Rosehip, we gotta get ourselves back together! Rally up!”

“Got it!” says Rosehip. Your tank starts rushing away from the T-54s you were following back down a sidestreet. Everyone starts feeding each other coordinates on where they are. You set up a rally point for a local park, big enough to fit everyone in. You lean back and look behind yourself. Nobody there. You look forward. Nobody there either. You should be in the clear for now.

Another flare shoots up into the sky over the high rise buildings. The light illuminates everything beneath it. You keep your eyes shaded from it as you search. That thing is going to ruin your natural nightvision.

As you continue driving, you think. Right, Mei is exposing herself going after tanks one by one. In theory, with all of you combined, you cold likely get the drop on Mei and swarm her with sheer numbers. Or all of you could be knocked out, leaving Griselda without an escort. Either way, well, things happen. But you gotta pull this one out. Mei will likely know that you’re probably going to try and rush her with superior numbers. She’s taken precautions most likely. You start approaching the park.

Then your ear twitches as you come up to a four way intersection next to it. Wait. “Stop!” you shout. Josephina hits the brakes. The tank grinds to a halt. The blast from a cannon nearly deafens you. Coming out of the blind corner is a T-54. “Fire!” The shot bounces across its mantlet and into a window. Shit! The T-54 comes back behind the corner instead of trying to pursue. Damn it! You were hoping it’d follow!

Stack comes out, then looks behind you. “Behind us!” she shouts. You look back and see another T-54. “Shit!” She buttons up again.

“Evade!” Josephina swerves the tank left. The shot skims past and nearly takes out the engine. The park itself isn’t too large, but thankfully there’s trees and there’s a little pond too. Maybe you can make some of this work.

“Lock us down! Everyone start stacking shells!” You turn in and start pulling shells from the ready rack. The tank stops up and points at the T-54 at the intersection, or at least, nearest to him. The gun starts firing rapidly. The shots slam through the corner of the wall, one, two, three shots. The other T-54 comes around. The turret turns around. “Fire, fire!”

The shots zoom past and nearly ding across the T-54s frontal hull. The T-54 immediately retreats. The gun keeps on firing even after they disappear behind the buildings. Ingrid looks back at you. “I think they’ve fallen back, Ellie!”

“Right, stop up, stop up!” You all stop with the shells. The T-54s don’t pop up again. Indeed, they’ve fallen back it seems. You drive into the park. And coming out into the park is Rosehip at full tilt. She drifts around a tree and stops, spraying some mud around.

“We’re here!” says Rosehip. Maria and Denise come in as well from the west, then finally Elyse comes in. Excellent! Everyone’s here.

“Griselda, where are you?” you ask.

“We’re hiding in a garage on the south end of the city,” says Griselda.

“Alright,” you say. You look at everyone. “We just ran into two T-54s coming in here. I don’t think Mei is too far away either. We better get ready.”

Rosehip says, “I say we set an ambush for the Object to at least try and cut its mobility. As long as they have that to rally around, they’re nearly unstoppable!”

“What about Mei though? She’s alone!” says Denise.

“She could take on all of us alone,” Maria says. “What do you think, Elodie?”

I know most of our tanks and a good chunk of theirs are still out there but you would think that we would be hearing more about it, if only as kill reports. Some back up would definitely be welcome, especially since that's where most of our fire power is.

I'm guessing Orly is being clever and sneaky, but she needs to get shit done right fucking now.

We can set up an ambush for the Object, and use the commotion to draw out Mei. Maybe have two fast movers accompany us out of sight and then pounce on Mei as she tries to pick off the object ambush team.

> Go and hunt Mei, she’s all alone.
> Other

“We’ll hunt down Mei. She’s all alone after all. If we can swarm her, we’ll overwhelm her and take her out in one smooth stroke. She won’t even get to see Griselda, understood?”

“Yeah!” they shout.

You all form up into column, with you at the head. You start going down one of the streets where you saw those T-54s. You drive down it, and follow your hunches and Ingrid’s as well. Mei could be anywhere in this city. For all you know, she’s probably rallied back with her team. Hell, that’s probably what she’s doing right now in fact.

Better idea. “Hold on. You guys know where the Object is?”

Rosehip says, “It should cruising southbound right now. But it usually has at least two tanks accompanying it.” That complicates things a little. Alright then.

“Denise, Maria, you’re with me. Rosehip, Elyse. I want you two to try and ambush it,” you say. “We’ll use that commotion to draw Mei out of hiding.” They acknowledge the order. Everyone quickly breaks off into their respective teams. You come up into a side street next to a high wall and a large building next to the street and wait. You can already feel the rumbling of the Object coming down the street, along with its escort. They’re moving slowly. Rosehip and Elyse have set up in alleys on either side. If one doesn’t get it, the other will.

You take a breath and wait. As you do, your ear twitches a little. Something or someone is nearby.

Then the high wall explodes open. A T-54 painted with red stripes across its turret and a red star on its front hull comes through. You look to the side as it comes forward. Mei pokes her head out of the turret, then flinches when she sees you, Denise, and Maria.

Seems this took her by surprise too.

>another bounces off the top of the turret, nearly hitting you.
