There's trouble brewing, and only those who are tasked with curating the Dreamscape may save the night. Who will cull the nightmares who disturb the peaceful slumber? The veil embraces any who wish to try their hand, but it is the Abyss that will judge worth. Step forth, Dream Catcher, and prove yourself.

Dream Catchers is a collaborative skirmish game where players take control of their own personal character. Mend and defend the weary hearts and minds of those in slumber, and fight until dawn. Be it nightmares or anxieties which ails them, find the source of trouble and exorcise it before the dreamer awakens. Successful exorcisms results in healing the dreamscape, and by proxy improves the player characters themselves.

Here's how you make a character and a quick summary of how the game is played. While movement and facing are cardinal (no diagonals) attacks and spellcasting in general will allow for diagonals to be used. Standard Melee range is also defined as all eight adjacent tiles surrounding the character, and facing is the three tiles in front of them.

An important thing to note would be how one avoids the death of oneself and comrades. This sheet covers such information. Remember that you are not required to >Struggle, and may use your actions at half effect or potency, except with move actions which are reduced to 1 Mov.

It is worth noting that if a skill that deals damage as an AoE it will hit all things which occupy its tiles. Only time this is not the case is if it is with a flying target and there is another available target below. Whichever target the ability is aimed at will determine if the AoE hits all flying or non-flying available targets in it's area of effect.

The engines take off down the track, with their surroundings turning into a blur for all residing passengers. Bucket tanks a point-blank shot with ease prior to saving his ally and shouting a command to them. A runner sends a wave of influence crashing upon an unfortunate golem, who finds themselves knocked prone. Elsewhere, a stowaway leaps onto the party's claimed car with a loud 'GONK!', as the party awaits a rescue plan which did not see fruition.

Note: characters not standing on carts or engines between rotations will not be moved along with the train cars. In this instance, Coph should keep in mind that they'll be starting from effectively 3W relevant of their current position to that of other characters while flying.

Greed takes hold of one runner, as the others make way onto the uncontested cart. A right pummeling sets the rear-mounted skull into an inactive state, which unfortunately means it is no longer vulnerable as a weak zone. Sludge flies from the spine maw, staining the car where it splashes upon. The runners feel a gaze bearing down upon them, yet it is unknown if the intent is fury or fear.

The party returns victorious, riding high on the satisfaction of an efficient dive until they spot the Caretaker finishing a task on the platform. Three tombstones stand as reminders of past mistakes with two topped with the headgear of their wearers. "My condolences," whispers the gravedigger as they pass the party, now somber as they stand before the gravesite.

The Veil Maiden approaches the group, passing the platform handler on her way. "Let us not forget these cherished runners," she prays while clasping her hands with head bowed "They who were stolen away from the flock in search of a peace-filled realm. Let us hold their memory in our hearts and minds as they guide us all within our dreams." With her prayer offered to the tablets, she raises her head and lowers her hands to fall in front of her stomach, offering the group a warm smile. "Yet we cannot ignore those good runners who have made a return, yes?"

The Veil Maiden casts her gaze to the moon, seeing it float further away from the platform than the norm, barely even noticeable amid the pitch sky if not for the void of starlight betraying its position. "We hold three hours of time to ourselves," announces the maiden, looking back towards the group before noticing one of their newcomers baring a peculiar appearance. "Oh, and welcome to the Lunar Realm, fair Lorekeeper."

However, even as these spotlights pass over you again and again, they don't retain focus and continue on with their search. As the party settles in, and a newcomer arrives to join their ranks, a huff and puff can be heard coming up from the stairs which leads down to the diving platform. At first the sounds and grunts emanate from what appears to be a large framed being, but when they arrive on the platform their appearance comes into full view. A large nosed creature wearing a bag wrapped around its head with the ties resting under its nose making a false mustache carries a backpack more than four times its size upon its shoulders. They set the bag down and roll a shoulder before unpacking a large blanket which then hosts quite a few mannequins of which display some curious items...

You take to a stack of empty crates leaning against a nearby building, clambering up as high as you can with nary a moment remaining before the bottom most layers are swallowed by the fog. You've bought yourself a moment to breathe, but the haze wave billows towards your footing.

Encroaching Mist p3
You leap from the crates as a tendril of mist bursts from the haze in a lazy arc towards your previous platform. Fingers grip the windowsill tight, and the time spent climbing through the window allows the mist to get close to overcoming the barrier behind you. There's no window pane to close, but aside from that the room bares a pair of sigils have been painted just inside the doorframe leading out to the hallway, a single rocking chair which slowly creaks back and forth, and a wardrobe cabinet laying on its side with panels closed.

Encroaching Mist p4
You place a hand on the rocking chair arm, which comes to a halt now that it is met with a stable object. Seating yourself on it, and gently rocking yourself back and forth eases your mind to the point of subtle bliss. To and fro you tilt on the furniture, a steady rhythm made as the mist billows over the windowsill. The room fills with a haze but you feel nothing apart from the sway of your body rocking in place, consistent and calm. It isn't until you awaken to the sound of a distant bell that the presence of slumber has been lifted. Standing from the rocking chair you examine yourself and the items you brought with you into the city. Nothing seems to be amiss, so perhaps the only thing lost in this encounter was time?
