>>3168139 : Previous thread.

With Dalia and Jersey reconciling their actions - or appearing to be - you lead both of them to your workshop. The new demoness in the castle is in need of some clothes, and while you're at it, you could probably fix up another outfit for the little reaper as well. Dalia did say that she only has her current wear and nothing else.

This time of day, where the night slowly encroaches upon the Sun, the sky is now turned into a cotton candy color. The magenta light peers through every glass that lies in the west-ward side of the fort, painting the dark corridors of Raphiel into the same shade.

Obviously, you're a man-- a gentleman at that. Because of so, you instruct the two young girls to measure themselves inside of the workshop. When they're done shortly after, they notify you to re-enter the room. Well, Dalia does; Jersey is sitting in a chair with an arrogance reformed.

Your partner handed you a note of their requested lengths and sizes, the two of you nodding to each other; thereafter, Dalia sits upon her coffin in the corner.

("Let's get to work shall we?") you told yourself, handling a few fabrics from the cabinets and shelves. The two girls spectate you attentively while your slim, long fingers starts stitching together the cloths before you.

We should go with something that keeps with the theme of our outfit while keeping with the theme of both Dalia and Jersey.

Something like a noblewoman's dress crossed with a dancer outfit and veil for Jersey, (extra modesty since our character isn't a fan of skimpy outfits, but still something exotic and alluring to fit her demon goddess status) and Dalia as a princess Gothic Lolita style?

I feel like our outfit is that of an eccentric noble or wealthy performer, so nobility and theatrics are the only themes I could think of.

Oh, thank you.

The process of your craft is quite the show when an audience is watching. The speed of your wrists and fingers can only be rivaled by another master, forming a harmonizing bond within your body from hand to eye. Each stitch is completed with one stroke; by the time that you have made the first dress, you're already starting on the second.

Once done, you again exit the presence of your underlings. You can hear them shuffle around - not intentionally of course - more yelling, and finally, the click of the workshop's door knob. Like the first time, Dalia is the one to fetch you. As for Jersey, she looks roughed up, whispering to herself in agitation: "What's with that brat?! No. What did the world do while I was gone?!"

"Let me see my work. I put my very being into each fold and thread~" you requested, leaning forwards heavily with a simple, curious gesture. Distancing yourself from the two girls, you concentrate all thoughts into inspecting their appearances.

Dalia's worn-out cloak has been replaced by a frilly dress. You kept the black color, but there was no way that you could leave it just like that! From the waist down, you embroidered a sequence of flowers; the thread was a dark blue, meshing within the dress while being noticeable enough for admiration-- at least, within the day. But by night, she'll be hard to see under the Moon. The ruffles do not inhibit the little reaper's movements, Dalia maneuvering around the room without the tiniest sign of a struggle.

As for Jersey, you contemplated long and hard to capture her essence. Disregarding the evil that you want to achieve, you prefer a young lady to be wholesome and proper. However, with the demoness, you ushered in a few exceptions.

Keeping your noble-like style, the characterization of Jersey's dress is to be teasing to the vices of men. You feel dirty by just evaluating each details, a guilty shiver in your flexible spine. Her seemingly modest attire has taken a few notes off of the skimpy dancers in the streets, highlighting the core qualities of a woman's body for the lustful in a deep crimson cloth. The buttons are tightened in the chest, two elbow-reaching gloves wrapping around her arms; and, to top it all off, is the veil that obscures her face. Never telling is a killer for the curious, and a powerful weapon for a demon goddess.

Side by side, your new members for Fort Raphiel draws a stark contrast to each other poetically. Childish and mature-- but danger is what they have in common.

"Hmm..." you let out, tapping your chin. "Something's not right..."

If you're going to terrorize the masses, your performance has to be completely perfect upon its arrival. "Yes, I now know what to fix. Right indeed~!" you said, taking a few tools out of a drawer: combs, brushes, bands, and a few pins.

You beckon Dalia to you, making her sit on a chair while you style her white hair. Your combs part her bangs in a slanted angle - just above the brows - clipping it in place as you move downwards along the strands. Two braids rest over her shoulders, lazily dangling past. Underestimating its fine quality, it took a bit longer than imagined. Probably because of how much she hid it from you; you never got a good look at her hair until now.

Maintaining her usual stare, she plays with the braids for a minute or two while you solve the impurities in Jersey's delivering image. "May I suggest some pads? I can make some in a jiffy."

"Haa? Better hold that tongue of yours before I rip it myself. I don't see anything wrong here-- H-HEY! HANDS OFF!"

Slipping from view, you take Jersey by surprise as you tighten the chest. "I must apologize for my indecency, but this is for the sake of a great appearance!"

"I don't care about jack or whatever you damn mongrel!" she voiced in anger, unable to show her scowl beneath her red veil. "Stop touching! HEY!"

"Your title as a goddess is nothing to laugh at~ Though, that should do it," you assured, walking back into your previous spot. You hold up both your thumbs and index fingers to frame Jersey, "Your breast are big enough on their own. However, it lacked a certain implication besides its rough fit. I want men to be enchanted; I want them to wait for the moment that the button pops!"

Jersey slaps you, the sting reminding you that you're not invincible to natural forces. Her cheeks are filled in with a bright pink. "I understand how beautiful I am. But I never gave the command to handle me like that! If only my stinger could kill you-- I would do it without a second thought!" Her attention is then taken by a mirror, cooling down as she basks in her own vanity, "Nonetheless, you pose as a outstanding tailor. I should recommended you Dahara or Nagerie..."

You gather the two before your person to take an afternoon stroll through Orinisteia. When you're asked why, you mentioned the chance to scout out any opportunities or targets on the way. The general enjoyment out of exploration is a plus. Jersey was undeniably discontent with your decision, but after a little reasoning from Dalia, she decided to come along after all. "My, the both of you do go well together," you said as you lead the way.

"You insult me, you know that? I am stuck between this coffin girl and you, so I might as well go along since it's the only choice I have. I may net some future followers though; maybe that's why I'm so powerless, no one has been worshipping me. But I swear I made around a hundred cults before my absence."

"You can do just that till we enter the city. However, I find splitting up problematic. I wouldn't be able to help if either of you get into trouble."

"Speak for yourself, you seem like that person. I only hope that where you're taking me is a good idea."

The gate is the same as always. Upon city entrance, you follow the streets to head into newer territory.

Deeper within Orinisteia, you find yourself nearing the center of the capital. There is a distinct change from where you were, the surroundings becoming much more cleaner and, to simply say, expensive. Way further ahead are many luxury hotels in addition to the numerous estates where the nobility lives. If you were planning some sort of heist here, then you have a myriad of options to choose from.

Perhaps, you can get a glimpse of the Royal Palace. Even from where you are at, you can see its structure upon an elevated zenith; multiple grand roads leads to it and the rest of the city, making itself clear that its the heart of Relnoir. An illustrious design as a home for the Royal Family, and as a cultural landmark for the country.

With countless marvels that are on sell here, you cannot decide where to visit. And maybe what to steal in the future. Where to go now?

There's a museum a couple of blocks ahead of you. Ever-wanting for the extraordinary, you go check it out due to innocent interest.

As you expected, the whole display is full of ancient artifacts, famous items, portraits, and bits of history. Dalia stays right behind you while following where your curiosity goes. Jersey does so as well, but unlike the quiet girl, she comments on items that she has seen before.

"Wait, that's my comb!" the demoness points out. At her call, you and the Dalia looks to the assumed direction; down a corridor is small, transparent glass container that held a delicate comb. The material that it's made out of is marble-like, seemingly stained by a weird liquid; it looks as if one touch could blight you.

Approaching the display, you read the heading that rests under the pedestal while Jersey herself walks around it.

"A treasure claimed by the Relnoir kingdom. Records say that this comb was once used by the Demon Goddess of the Forest whose name was lost from a past religious purge.
Touching the blighted teeth of the comb will inflict a dangerous venom. Please, only observe, as there is a magical barrier to prevent any contact."

We can nab it later. So wait, is it being held in a magic container, not glass? What would happen if we touched the barrier? Would it just vanish? For that matter, how do enchanted items like the comb react to us? Do they have no effect on us, or do we just destroy the enchantments outright upon contact?
>>
>>3183816
Im sure they just have no effect on us and we dont wreck it.

You're completely immune and incapable to use magic, so touching it will not affect you; the comb's poison is the same coating of mana that Jersey attempted to kill you with. As for the magical barrier - the glass itself - your hand will just pass through it. That is, if no one notices.
>>3183826

You wag your finger at Jersey, "Remember, we are just casing the joint. We need to find a good entrance and exit point. Still, we'll put this down as something we can steal during our break-in. Besides, when the time comes, you could take a few of their items as a recompense for their audacity."

She audibly pouts, crossing her arms with a huff. "Hmph, fine. When do you plan to break in then?"

"Tomorrow night. Right now is enough time to map out the museum, Miss Jersey. For the moment, enjoy the tour itself instead. It'll be tons of fun for the three of us~"

Jersey, for a second time, huffs in a distraught manner. She connects her sight with Dalia who, continuing to be quiet, is already ready to unshackle her chains. Seeing this, she rejoins you in exploring the museum, carrying an apprehensive feeling until she eventually forgets it later on.

From the general look of things, although free for the public who can attend here, the museum is wholly guarded with basic equipped soldiers: a sword and sheathe is mounted on the side of their belts, wearing a light mix of plate armor and chain mail. The overhead windows are wide enough for a grown man and, so far, you have only seen one backdoor that leads to another alleyway.

What to see next?

You visit another exhibit; this time, it's a collection of crystal fragments who faintly gives off a blue, magical glow. There are three all together, weighing down the atmosphere in a mysterious force. Nonetheless, it's as insignificant as a unimportant memory at the back of your head. But there something else about them that reels you in closer to the organized display. Some kind of familiarity that you just can't put a finger on it. However, the urging emotion that radiates from the guards - more heavily armed men that are more like knights - distracts you from it.

All three of you read the description that's written upon a stand, saying: "These five magical shards are claimed to be from the heavens; they are on display as the physical representation of us humans. The following are 'want,' 'strength,' 'order,' 'knowledge,' and 'malice.' The fragments of want and strength have been taken by the kingdom's private research facilities-- no news have been reported since 1074 and 1085.
"By decree on both the Royal Crown and the Church, any sort of intentional damage or theft of these fragments is punishable offense, and are to be attended by a small mass of church-trained knights. Furthermore, a modified barrier is to inflict instant pain as consequence.
"

You glance at Dalia who seems to share the same response; yes, she is still quiet, but her eyes tell of something different. On the other hand is Jersey who is looking at the exhibit in disdain. "Of all the places that you humans could keep them, you rather show them off here? In the public? They're better off hidden in that giant palace's treasury...They're even missing the last fourteen..."

Before heading home, you examine the museum's structure again. The aforementioned windows could be used to break inside with how lanky you are and how strong Dalia is. Fortunately, you also have Jersey who can tell the worth and history of each item here-- er, most of them. She has some problems with the eastern exhibits; for her, it's hard to understand the style, to which you are in the same boat. Despite that, their stories are a fun read.

Disregarding the obvious front entrance that is open to the public till night, you find out about the back. Your search assured an escape route; there are multiple exits for the staff that leads into the alleys behind the building. There is also a lounge upstairs that has a balcony. If there is some emergency, you can take to the roofs from there.

Back at Raphiel, you made dinner for the two girls who now accompany you.

"Not bad, but it's too salty. The vegetables don't go together well too," Jersey commented, a plate of home-made food before her.

"Thank you for the advice. I have just started cooking since this morning, so any amount of help will be welcomed."

"My previous servants could make something better, even grander than you."

"But they're not here," Dalia spoke, eating alongside the demoness.

"Don't remind me you brat."

"Now that we have time for ourselves, could you enlighten us on your past, Miss Jersey? I want to know about this hero who trapped you in that chest," you asked. Said chest is safely kept in the corner of your bedchamber.

"With the air this light, why not?" Jersey responded along with a sigh. "Let me tell you one thing. The only thing that should be clear. I don't know why you haven't heard of him yourself. Or, in reality, maybe the world has just forgotten about him-- but that's doubtful.
"You see, what you may hear about him is not the real 'hero.' In reality, he's as bland as the grass outside. However, what makes it so...so infuriating is how he takes every situation. That person had crazy powers that even I, a demon goddess, couldn't combat because of its sheer stupidity. What did he mean by 'copy and paste?!' What did it mean by replicating my powers?! The memory is even worse with the thought of his face. A face with no interest in anything! A face of any other man! And don't get me started with his companions!" Jersey explained as the recollection heats her up. You can even see furrowed brows under her veil.

Seeing that the topic wasn't much of a good idea, you wave your hand as a gesture to calm her down. "What you say is indeed intriguing. The emotion behind your words is nothing but the truth."

"You're the exact opposite of him you clown. Don't make it as bad as bad as him..."

You laugh, "Hahaha~ Once more do you flatter me. What about those two others you had mentioned, Nagerie and Dahara, no?"

"They're nothing special, just my sisters. One's in some underwater cave sleeping her bum off and the other is in a giant tree where the elves live."

"Their appearances, I may add?"

"They look like me, but Dahara is more butterfly-like and Nagerie is moth-ish. The fluffy type I mean."
>>
"Say, Miss Dalia. What did you feel when we observed those divine fragments?" you said, then turning to the littler of the two partners. "Personally, I felt a weird familiarity with them. A weight over my head and shoulders as well."

"...The same," Dalia muttered. She touched where her heart is, as if it reminded her about it. "Felt good and bad. Stuck between the middle."

"Probably because you were born on the same day~ Hahaha, I'd love some sort of holiday to be the same as mine," thinking nothing of what you spoke of with a jolly tone.

Dalia's eyes widen, bigger than when you had met her. They then rests back down in a great speed. "Yes...I guess so."

Later on in the evening, where every one of you has gone to your chambers, the dark night lulls you to sleep. These kinds of moments where you lay still and silent in bed beckons the wandering conscious inside your head. For one moment, you're imagining a terrible deed, and the next is living in a happy cottage in the mountains. Cozy and fantastical, nefarious to comically evil like you're always are.

Just then, you hear a crack by your door. You take it as nothing, as you start to fall into slumber's warm bosom. Even if you haven't paid much attention to the insignificant noise, you swear that you could heard someone yelling.
_____

Jersey slips open your door with a determined gaze upon your body. In her hands is a kitchen knife coated in a dark, viscous liquid-- the poison from her tendril-like stingers. "Second time is the charm. That's how it is, right? No matter. If the poison doesn't kill him then the blade will."

Nodding to herself, Jersey starts to close in you. But for some reason, she stops all of a sudden. She can feel a tiny hand gripping the wrapped blanket that services as her night wear. Turning backwards in a cold snap, she sees Dalia holding her only "garment" that protects her from cold nudity; it's already as loose as it is, hanging off her breast like a tent.

"Ah..." Jersey lets out on sight. "Huh?"

The second that the sound left her mouth, Dalia forcefully drags Jersey back into the hall. The demoness holds on to the blanket tightly as well to keep it from slipping, "Oi, stop that! What are you doing?!"

"Target confirmed...Leave alive at least," Dalia computed softly.

"Hey! Where are you taking me! Wait, wait! N-No!"
>>
>>3185718

Waking up in a well rested state, you immediately complete your morning routine. You become absorbed within the scenery beyond your window for a few minutes, reminding yourself to get in line for today. "Another day, another life~!" you chanted throughout your bedroom.

I got an idea how about we use our magic immunity for the museum heist later. We can trick people we are the staff taking away artifacts for an excuse we'll make up, and nobody won't be suspicious of us because we just got past the maximum security magic without any resistance(if we can just reach for the artifact without suspicious effects) . However, we'll be screwed if a staff, especially a high rank staff sees us so somebody else can create a diversion
>>
>>3186323
>What if the items are rigged so removing them trips an alarm? Our magic-immunity does nothing there.
>How are we going to get a uniform (if one is needed)?
>What will the distraction be? An attack? Jerseiy makes a scene? And how will we distract all the staff? If even one of them sees us it's a failure.
>Assuming the heist goes off without any problems, what happens later when it emerges that we weren't museum staff after all, but thieves? We all have pretty distinctive appearances.

It's clear that the only feasible option is stealth.

The first thing on your mind is to get breakfast ready. You can't start a terrific day without something to eat, especially if you're the only person who is cooking.

"Where did that flint go?" is what you said when peering into a bottom cabinet right beside the stove. Someday, you'll get your hands on some fire stones , but knowing who you are, the thought is only a delusion. Perhaps, a magically powered oven? No. That cannot work as well, sadly. "There it is," seeing that the piece of quarts was put away somewhere else than it's ordinary spot. The question of who could've done it doesn't pop in your head at all.

Before long, right as you are done with the food, Dalia is lured into the kitchen by its aroma. For a while now, you have been using the kitchen table as a gathering spot instead of the dining room; there, a long, furbished table is set idly in old royalty.

"Good morning, Miss Dalia. Say, do you know where Miss Jersey is?" you greeted, asking the demoness' whereabouts thereafter.

The little girl, who has abandoned her old hood for the Gothic Lolita fashion, replied: "...In my room."

"I hear~" placing Dalia's breakfast onto the table. You then make your way into the stairs, "I shall retrieve her then. Please, hold your gluttony. It must be saved for other villainous deeds-- ways that puts you're vice into use. Efficiently so~"

Opening Dalia's bedroom door, the sight of Jersey's suspended body fills your vision. She's without response, shifting around constantly in the air as a clear consequence of sleep deprivation from overnight. Below her is a blanket that reminds you of the alluring exposition of her situation; put up for all who comes across her to see. And to the bed-related article's side, are three candles that had been snuffed out.

You detach your focus from the naked demoness to examine the rest of the room. For the most part, everything is untouched; Dalia's coffin is wide open, laid upon the only bed here. There is more than one pair of a pillow and a blanket, stuffed against the soft padding to further comfort whoever slept inside.

Tinkering with the ties that keep her up, you free Jersey from her bonds. Furthermore, the bags under her eyes are what seals her conscious being, continuing to plunge her deeper into dormancy while resisting every attempt to revert such.

Now knowing that you can't wake Jersey up - at the very least, not right now - you bring it upon yourself to dress her. Entering into her room, you lay the demoness on top of her own bed to acquire the dress that you've made for her - in addition to other undergarments. From then on, you clothe the person while she's absolute unknowing. After the careful ordeal, you wait at the bedside.

"A-Aah!" Not a second has passed when Jersey props herself upward, escaping her dream. She has yet to clear out the dust in her eyes or dispel the tiring clouds in her head. Shaken, she scans the room; it takes a moment to recognize you upon seeing you in a chair. The demoness, in a manner with what you assume to be the affects of sleep deprived drunkness, then checks herself. "I-I'm dressed...? Wait, no. Th-That brat, where is she?!"

> "Calm down, Miss Jersey. I merely dressed you during your slumber."

"Miss Dalia is eating breakfast in the kitchen," you answered. "Would you like me to make some coffee for you?"

"I don't care about that! The fire in my heart is already enough to deliver me from the haze inside my head." With that said, Jersey gets off of the bed to stomp her way down to the location of her tormentor. You follow behind her down the corridor.

In the kitchen, everything here innocent with tonight's event, Dalia still sits in her stool to eat. The rest of the food was left untouched, like you said; this is more so because of how the little girl deliberately chewed slowly until you come back.

When faced with Jersey, wholly upset, she maintains a blank stare at her with the care of a grazing cow.

"Argh! Do you know what you did? If we weren't isolated then, I could've died from the humiliation! Do you know how pathetic it was for me to be burned by a mere candle? Ever since I was released from that chest, I've been faced with my present, nameless status as a goddess-- I have become susceptible to previous insignificant pain!"

"...You seemed to like it at the time...Pervert," Dalia mumbled back, leaving Jersey speechless and ashamed.

You steer the faulty goddess to a chair by the present table. Not for long, you then serve her a plate of food and the rejected cup of coffee.

To be independent it to be truly free of the wants and needs of the proles."

"You misunderstand, clown! A pleb's life is worthless in my eyes! What I actually find value is the divinity that they grant! A demon goddess is an imperfect divinity in itself, so I need it to restore my past glory! What's worse is that my original following are just leftovers from my sisters! Dalia responded, "I do not. Do you have an idea? Doesn't look like it."

The demoness reacts in another overexaggerated manner, "G-Guh! Y-You have to understand that I've been roped into this with no other option than to go along. The clown has to have one. Even a simple concept works."

What if our goal was to be the villain AND the hero? Nothing to contradict our first goal of becoming a super villain because we would have two identities. The goal is to play it like theatre in the open. Maybe we could have Jersey as our arch-nemesis so that she will be loved by everyone and therefore regain her power through worship. That way we could also attract all our enemies on her if they side with her.

The fight would be just acts because we are immune to her attacks.

THink about it
>we get to be the villain
>we give Jersey her power back
>nobody get hurt

You came across it after making your escape from your lab. Somewhat restored it after cleaning the place with stolen goods and supplies. Parts of the protective walls do look eroded enough to fall on its own.

You start to dramatically croak in a low voice at Jersey. With enough tension in the air, you then give her your answer. Tenfold. "Kukuku~ Why, it's to become the greatest criminal mastermind that the world will ever know! Wealth! Adoration! Fear!-- The typical benefits for the business that I participate in, you know? Heroes and kings will submit to me, for I'll conduct an orchestra of destruction that can rival the God of Destruction and Birth, Harnra!"
Putting your aspirations aside, you continue to explain the complexity of your enigmatic mind. "Yes, the exact method is unknown as of now, but what I do know is that we need resources to build up a sufficient amount of figurative momentum. Without that key component, we won't see to anything. It's just so that the museum is just the right start~ That is why we have chose it. If we are lucky, an artifact from there could be of use to us than to be standing upon a pedestal. Their current state is only a mockery for the archaic past of the heavens...Maybe a hero will come during the whole process. Just like the one you have battled against."

"You're asking the wrong thing if you want another hero like him. Disgusting..." Jersey stated. "Though, I can see what you mean despite from being a plan of a fool. I can only hope what you have in mind works miraculously in some way, because I'm not sinking down the same ship."

The two of you debated the character that is 'evil' with Dalia interjecting here and there. The conversation was so captivating for you and Jersey that the early morning flew by.

There is so much minutes inside an hour; so many hours inside a day. What do you do to kill time?

Going to the adventurers guild, Jersey decided to stay outside its doors. "Hurry with your little errand or whatever before I get bored. I can't stand the types of people here," was her reasoning, waiting by the passageway.

"If you say so. But you'll miss out on so much fun if you trouble yourself like what you're doing right now, Miss Jersey. Lighten up, lighten up~~"

"Yeah, yeah. Just go on," she said, waving her hand to shoo you off.

Shrugging your shoulders, you notice that Dalia has gone off to the guild board without you. When guaranteed that the demoness will not do anything too crazy while you're gone - not that you have a right to complain - you meet up with the little reaper inside the chaotic building.

Most of the adventurers themselves do not care about your appearances. Nonetheless, there are a handful who take mind to changes of your partner, Dalia, and the busty lady outside. They're respectful enough to not cause a fuss about it, thankfully.

Rejoined with faux princess, you pick up your head to observe the posters.

"Good morning, Mister Edison," Annie greeted when you stop by her counter.

"Likewise, Miss Annie. I would like to do this one today," you said while giving her the quest paper.

Always with her scanning eyes, she reads it in three heartbeats. "This, huh? When you come back, an officer or caption should give you their signature to register the quest complete. Anyways, slaves a pretty new for a long time. The staff members say that there hasn't been many related quests for a long time now." Annie stamps the paper, then giving it to you with an automatic smile. "Have a good day~! Be careful, however. The slaves there probably won't be all humans."

"Another piece of advice that I shall keep close to my heart~ Thank you, again."

As you neared the guild's doors, Dalia asked your thoughts on the quest. "What are you thinking?" she said mechanically.

"Lost souls such as slaves make a great addition. The soldiers there will prove a bit of difficulty when we get there if I want two or three, but I'm not yet set on the idea of taking them. Maybe Jersey will help me on the matter while on our way there~"

The soldier camp is located halfway along a giant river. It seemed that the merchant who were taking the slaves into the city was using a modified boat caravan; his plan was to smuggle them through the sewers, meeting up with his accomplices. ("He forgot one little problem,") you said to yourself. ("He lacked the fashionable tact of his boat~ Even I can point that out from over the opposite side of Orinisteia's plain!") Though, you have yet to see the aquatic vehicle yourself. But you did shortly after upon reaching the camp.

When you mentioned the slaves to Jersey, she was happy in a peculiar way. "If you plan to take them for yourself, then I, your 'partner' has a right to take them as well. DO make sure to get enough~"

Meeting the officer in charge of the band of soldiers, Dalia immediately shows her adventurer's card to void any suspicion on the spot as quickly as possible. He didn't even question you or Jersey, promptly showing you the problem that they face.

> The slaves that are in the smuggling boat are elves. No matter how much the soldiers compromise their offers for assistance, their pride inhibits them to follow.
> The slaves that are in the smuggling boat are demi-humans. Their temperament are volatile, the soldiers fearing imminent violence since they're gifted in raw physical combat and other abilities.

> Elves. Writing....

A pretty close vote. 5 to 4.

The slaves that are inside the river boat are elves. Surprisingly, they are in good condition; the only thing that lowers their status as a living being are thick restraints: manacles on their hands and legs with a few exceptions. Said exceptions are three to four elven men and three amazon-like women, standing at the back entrance to protect the rest who are too young or weak.

The clothes that they wear are made of basic linen. Tunics and shorts for the males and long skirts for the fairer sex.

"The merchant guy looked very clean. A type of man who would laugh jollily in a bar. That fact is what makes this case especially weird, furthermore with his molded smile," the officer told you outside the back entrance of the boat. "What's more is that these aren't just one type of elves. A lot of them span from the northern forests, the hot deserts, and the exotic rainforests down south."

The officer's words are true. Looking more closely, they do share a significant difference altogether. Of course, them being elves, they all share a magical youth and beauty.

The ones that live in the north are whiter skinned than their brethren, along with silver hair that gleam in the slightest light; eyes that are akin to sapphire who glows in the shadows at the back. Just like a cat.

Those who originate from the deserts in the southern-ast part of the map are tanned and lithe-- in a human aspect that is, not comparing to your own natural lankiness. Red, burning eyes and sandy locks, they can perform more than handling a bow. A common armament among their other kind-- but not for them.

And finally, there are elves that are from the rainforests; a type of environment unique to the west and eastern continents that preside past Relnoir.

They're more fit to be called amazons. More so because of the ratio to men and women. 1 to 10. That being so, the females of that certain group possesses a certain strength that grants them a distinct physique; eye and hair color varies from woman to woman. Their tall height being one of the noticeable characteristics that they all share between them.

> Try to abduct one of them.
> Leave them alone. You might get caught.

And

>Other variations?You naughty devils
>>

>>Other variations?
Mountain elves. Around the same size as humans, but look way stronger than their jungle counterpart. They are decent smiths and are basically beautiful magical vikings.

so what was the original quest supposed to be? either way:

> Try to abduct one of them.
Won't be abduction if we sway them with our magnificent speeches.
>>
>Other variations?
Grassland elves. Excellent with plants and animals; look kinda lanky compared to their brethren, but they make up with the pets and the bond they make with them. Basically they are amazing farmers, ranchers or shepherds.

To be backup if the elves start to incite a fight.
>>
>>3191865
i don't know... helping the soldiers gives us coin and we might even get some elves written off the official records and have them as our property, meanwhile some of those elves might be important people and their families would pay a handsome reward for their return. Hard choices.
>>
lets just remember we are always that Saturday cartoon villain so lets just act to our character
>>
I say we strike a pose and give an inspiring speech about freedom and also joining us to wreak havoc on a world that would allow such atrocities as this to occur.

Ya'know, something theatric and out of place in such a serious moment that will nevertheless tip off the elves that if they choose to attempt freedom they will have support.

Something with our villainous intentions disguised just enough for the guards to not pick up on our evil intentions (at least not seriously) while still selling ourselves as a leader to be rallied around.

"May I have a shot at it, Mister?" you said to the officer. "Negotiations are a forte of mine and I think it'll be useful in this current situation."

The officer scratches his head, looking to one soldier to another whose faces are staring attentively to the elves. All throughout a heavy silence. "...Sure. Just be careful. We all know how elves are. So far, they haven't chanted any spells, but since you're adventurers, I'm confident that you'll at least dodge out of the way."

Granted permission, you give your thanks to the officer before confronting the prideful race. Dalia and Jersey stay behind.

("Elves and humans aren't much different, you know? Both are equally as arrogant in which they make it up with passion. That aside, I hope that they wouldn't mine for a second kidnapping. Right now will be a good selection to pick.")

The soldiers who stand by takes a step two pace backwards to make room for you. The only agitated group who has the spirit to detail their distaste bolsters their resolve when faced with you. Faced with a tall, elongated rag doll of a man who hides behind an abstract mask. "Who are you?!" the front-most commanded in deep animosity; one who would looks to be twenty-- probably four-hundred in elven years.

"Now, now. Settle and pacify your rising hands. I am but a humble mediator for this occasion," is what you taught to the elven man.

"Hmph. We've made our choice loud and clear. We are not obeying human jurisdiction. We'll force our way back to our homes if we have to."

"You are not in the wrong, Young Man. You certainly aren't. But you must know that we have our reasons. What you have gone through is not the responsibility of the Royal Court. Only the man who has brought you here. Every land has its law. That goes for us, and for your own too."

"Like hell we'll trust you. That man has captured us like exotic pets! We demand to be ignored, to be let free, so all of us can return to where we came.
You glorified apes have no natural right to obstruct us! Human, Humans, do something decent enough in your pitiful lives as to let us exit this boat! I can threaten you with magic furthermore! Though, repugnant for me to use my arts for it to be tainted by your sight."

> "Then what? Will you spread the abhorrent treachery of humans? That isn't fair, is it? For all I know, the already strained relations of our countries might be brought into a war because of such stories that you spew."
> "Feisty are you~ What you say is useless when against the truth of the world. Why are humans this advance for them to be nothing but mythical dolls of clay?"
> "What you interpret as 'natural order' that is bestowed upon your people is nothing more than chaos. And chaos doesn't bestow powers to its heralds. Its heralds bestow its power for themselves."

He's still Saitama from one punch man but like the aforementioned manga, the focus is shifted from him to the rest of the world reacting to the end of za warudo tier of fuckery that is Nazarick which is really enjoyable and fun rather than the typical power fantasy that are isekai.

I think before we decide there is a big question. What does soldiers want from them?
> No matter how much the soldiers compromise their offers for assistance, their pride inhibits them to follow.
What kind of assistance?

Now since these are smuggled slaves against the trade law they are probably going to end up as the national treasury, or its gonna be their lucky day and they're gonna be free to go

Question is why he tried to smuggle them? If he acquire them illegally they should probably be free to go after guard collect statements ask questions like, who is involved and what not. If he just tried to avoid taxes well thats bigger problem

>Strike me with your magic, and you will see what power is. Not in my actions, but in my inaction. If natural order allowed things to come be this way, then isn't living beings' will part of it? And if that's so, how can I trust you to be peaceful as a sated bear rather than treacherous like a hungry one?
Let's instead go through this debacle like civilized beings, and talk it through.
