One sunny morning, you finds yourself getting up from bed and preparing a breakfast for two. Looking through the fridge, you find a few eggs and some ham. A signature classic combo of yours that anyone who's eaten it has only sung high praises of. Of course, the only person besides you that’s eaten your cooking is…“Morning, bro!” A young girl calls out.“Hey, Aya. Oh, you’re already all set to go, huh?”“Yeah, well my teacher said that I should probably show up early for my first class this year. Well I guess she’s not my teacher anymore? Does she still count as my teacher if I haven’t met my new one yet, bro?”“How the- how should I know? I mean, I guess?”“Or maybe she stopped being my teacher as soon as I finished my class last year?”“Look, Aya, just eat your food, it’s done and if you keep babbling -”Your exchange is stopped by a sudden knocking at the door.“This early? I coulda sworn I paid the landlord…” You approach the door, only to find a dark haired youth facing you down.“Are you Shinya Izumo?”>”I might be, I might not be. But…”“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”You attempt to close the door, but Aya walks up by your side, curious as to who the new visitor is.“What’s our dad got to do with you?”The young man twirls his hair, smirking confidently in your general direction. Looking at him, you can see he’s wearing some rather... expensive looking clothes. “You haven’t told me why you’re here.” You ask him.“Well, I wanted to ask a simple favor. You won’t owe me a thing. You can show up more or less whenever you want. I’ll be by a local bar. It’s called ‘Bones’. Ask for the owner, Boonie, he’s a good friend of mine. Or don’t. If I see you around, I could teach you a trick or two, might help you out. I just… Wouldn’t like to see Takaya’s kids go down a path they don’t have to. I’ve seen what happens when someone makes the wrong choices in life. You could just make more of yourself, if you really tried, you know?”Is he still going on about this crap? Well, it’s… strange information, but you might as well park it in the back of your head alongside all the other junk. The man finally decides to leave you alone as you walk away. For now, the only thing really on your mind is heading to “work”. You’ve been doing this for a few years now, and you’re more or less known for being the reckless fighter that you are, managing to scrap your way through some fights. You don’t exactly work for anyone there, though you do see a few regulars who pay to watch and bet on which guy doesn’t hit the ground first. That leads you to wonder why you haven’t seen the strange guy from before.Well, it doesn’t matter, does it? You’re here, and you’re going to fight to win some money. The only question is now, are you ready?

Don't you want a little more?"You contemplate the wounds you've just sustained."Just take down this next guy, and you get a bonus? Whaddya think, not bad, huh?"Usually, just beating 3 guys up and putting on a show is enough for a decent chunk of cash, but maybe one more round wouldn't hurt? However, on the other hand... You might not be in good enough shape to take on one of the tougher guys in the ring. You consider your options.>Take on the new challenger.>Quit while you're ahead.
How much cash do we have at the moment?
>>3227843Heads up: We can assume the cash value is "enough", while we can assume cash value after this proposed fight is "more than enough". In the meantime, don't expect another post until tomorrow, I'm feeling pretty tired from work.
FUCK I just wanted to FUCK aya
After what seems like an eternity of hesitation, you ultimately decide that you’ve had enough of fighting for today. You’re not sure what came over you. Perhaps it was fear, simple hesitation, laziness, or perhaps some other negative emotion restraining you from moving forward. Whichever the case, with what strength you have left to call upon from deep within yourself, you ultimately decide that it is for the best to call it off. However, this decision is not without its consequences. The crowd boos you, one of them throwing a sharp object at you, cutting your right cheek. You aren’t sure what exactly the object was, but it doesn’t really matter, as you try your best to ignore the pain of the sudden cut. In spite of the crowd’s disfavor of your choice today, you are allowed to leave.Returning to the streets, you take a moment to reflect on how strange your day has been so far. A strange young man with an ego far too big for his ability came to challenge you to teach him your generations old techniques, which you yourself hesitate to practice. And why is this? You contemplate. Perhaps it’s your fear of being unable to surpass your father’s legacy. Maybe it’s even your hatred for the man. After everything you’ve been put through, you’ve got the right to be angry, right? You don’t owe anyone anything.Except, perhaps, Aya. She’s given you a reason to keep going. Maybe it’s time that you put your skills and strength to good use. You may not be able to afford an education, but it’s enough that she can.And that strange man. He seems to have known of your father, at the very least. Though you’re unable to ascertain his intentions quite yet, after a bit of thinking, you consider the possibility that he may have been an associate from your father’s old fighting days. Although, you don’t remember much of those days. The days when your father was a respected, even moderately wealthy man. When you had a brighter future ahead of you. When your mother was still around.
>>3239540You decide to go for a walk to simmer in these thoughts a while longer, and then for a jog to get them out of your head. And so, as the day goes on, you ultimately return to Aya’s school, and wait patiently for her to emerge from the school.A few minutes go by, and…Nothing. You decide to wait a while longer.More time passes by, and…Still, nothing. You see a few children leave, nothing remarkable about them. But, still, no Aya. That’s odd, to say the least. She’s usually pretty good about time. Well, maybe she’s talking a teacher’s ear off about something. On the first day?Well, she is pretty inquisitive, even about minor things. You decide to wait a little longer.Until, eventually, what seems to have been an hour passes, with Aya nowhere in sight. Even for Aya, this isn’t…You decide to enter the school and look around, going door to door asking if they’ve seen Aya around. Some teachers respond claiming they don’t know who you’re talking about, others claiming that there are many children who match the description of “short girl with light brown hair and dark brown eyes”. Finally a couple who stuck around for some sort of after school programs who claimed that while she had expressed interest in joining such programs, she “wanted to run it by her brother”, insisting that you would be waiting for her not long after she got out.A deep feeling of dread washes over you. Where could Aya have gone? What could have happened to her? She couldn’t just be waiting at home, she wanted to wait for you to pick her up so you could go back together. What should you do? >
>>3239542>Search around for clues or hopefully AyaAnything that looks like a struggle or something wrong happened there. Failing that I guess call the cops?(Also QM I'd reccomend a new thread, you're auto saging here).
>>3239552(Yes, my sincere apologies for a lack of update. At some point soon a new thread will be started.)
Trying to maintain your composure, you attempt to search for Aya. Maybe she got distracted and wandered off… No, she wouldn’t be so careless. Even in the worst case scenario, she might have left some sort of clue for you to be able to follow. Looking around, you find yourself looking through the hallways. Maybe something from her backpack, something with her name on it? Anything? Nothing. You find yourself by the track field, wandering around, still frantically searching for anything she could have left behind. You spend what must have been an hour checking for anything suspicious in the bleachers, the track itself, and the surrounding area. And then, you find it. Or rather, them. Two apparently torn pieces of clothing. One, a dark gray cloth, seems to resemble the school uniform from the school. This could be Aya’s!But, perhaps it isn’t. Even if it does seem torn, that isn’t a guarantee that it was hers. However, it does seem like a potentially strong lead. However, the other, slightly larger piece of cloth catches your eye. It’s white, decorated with a word you recognize as “Heaven”. What kind of dork wears something that says “Heaven”?No, that’s not the thought you should be thinking right now. This could be another lead, so you hold on to it.Not having much else to go on, you decide to do the only thing left to think of. Report to the authorities. An impressively large building, the station known locally as the “Guardian Tower”, houses the city’s finest. True to its name, it towers above most of the city, acting as a symbol of its vigilance in the city. Hopefully, they’ll be able to help. You enter the building, and are met with what could only be described as a large lobby of sorts. Unsure of what exactly to do, you get in line behind what seems to be a line of other citizens with something to report. From the corner of your eye, however, you seem to notice something peculiar. It’s a young man with a bandage on his face yelling angrily at an officer.Wait a second. That’s the annoying bastard from earlier! What was his name again, X… Xavier? Suddenly, troubling thoughts begin to form in your mind. He couldn’t have done something as petty as kidnap your sister for what happened earlier, could he? Or, maybe he knows something that you don’t? But then, if he is just a dud, you might be wasting valuable time you could be using to report what happened. What should you do?>Confront Xavier.>Continue waiting.
>>3239918This can’t just be a coincidence. There’s got to be some sort of connection between Xavier’s presence and Aya’s disappearance. Was it for some sort of revenge? All sorts of thoughts begin to run through your mind as you move closer to him, until eventually you find yourself just inches away from him. There, he turns to face you, when he turns a shade of white, before beginning to yell angrily while pointing at you.“That’s him, that’s the guy who hit me in the face!”The officer, clearly exasperated, turns to face you.“Sir, is this true? Did you hit this… man in the face?”>”Are you this much of a coward? Did you really try reporting me to the authorities after you just showed up to bother me and my sister? What did you expect?”>”Forget about this guy’s face, he kidnapped my sister!”>”I hit him in the face, sure, but he deserved it. More importantly, there’s something worse going on and I need your help, officer.”>
>>3240329>Never seen him before in my life. Now, my sister is missing. ..
>>3240329>>”Forget about this guy’s face, he kidnapped my sister!”And when we inevitably get questioned further,"Yes, he challenged me to a fight which we mutually consented to and I won fair and square. Now please, can we focus on finding my sister?"
>>3240427>>3240525“Forget about this nobody and his problems, my sister’s gone missing!” You exclaim. While the phrase seems to catch the officer’s interest, it seems to evoke a strange expression upon Xavier’s face.“She’s… gone missing?” He asks, bewildered. “What, suddenly you care?” You respond. The officer attempts to interrupt the two of you, but Xavier cuts him off.“What, am I not allowed to be concerned over a missing kid or something?”“No, that’s weird, man. I don’t even know you! And for all I know you could’ve been the one who did this to her!”“Yeah, genius move by me, kidnap some girl I have nothing to do with and THEN go to the authorities to report an injury inflicted by her brother.”“You WANTED to fight, didn’t you? It’s not my fault you can’t swing a punch to save your life.”“Hey, you know what, I wasn’t the one who managed to lose his sister, so back off!”The two of you begin to raise your fists in anger. However, the officer notices this and immediately gets in the way of the two of you, outstretching his arms. A strange energy seems to be emitting from his hands.“Do I need to remind you two that you’re currently in one of the worst places to get into a fight? And let me get this straight, you ARE admitting to having hit this young man, right?”You respond, “Yes, he challenged me to a fight which we mutually consented to and I won fair and square. Now please, can we focus on finding my sister?”The officer stops and thinks for a moment.“Consented fighting? Ah, what was the ruling to that, I forget… stupid technical laws...” He begins to mumble to himself.“I said, can we PLEASE focus on finding my sister, I have two pieces of evidence… I think.”“Hold on now, I think I’m going to have to arrest you. Fighting and injuring people isn’t legal, even if it’s consensual! There’s procedures for these kinds of things… I think.”Xavier seems more frustrated with the officer than he does with you by this point.“Look, man, I think finding a missing person is a little more important than my face, no matter how good looking it is. Don’t you agree?”
>>3241791“One thing at a time, young man! First things first, we gotta bring you in for - o-oh, Chief! W-what brings you down here today?”Chief? But there’s no one else here…?Suddenly, you find a tall and imposing man with blonde hair dressed in a purple suit standing next to you.“Just here to look around, and what should I find other than Mr. Chapman’s son, as well as… Oh, I don’t believe I’ve met you before, young man! And yet, there is something oddly… familiar about you. But, I can’t quite put my finger on it.”“M-Mr. Foxcroft!” Xavier exclaims.Who is this guy?“Ah, but I don’t believe I’ve introduced myself!” The man chuckles. “I’m Walter Foxcroft, more or less Chief of this place. Don’t let anyone else’s impression of me fool you, I’m quite the easy going guy… When I want to be! Now, what was happening here?”After a brief rundown of the situation, Walter nods his head and speaks.“Allow me to take over for a moment. So you say you sister was kidnapped, and these are your only leads? We’ll need to take these in for investigation, but rest assured we will do our best to analyze what we can and see if we can find any new information.”Walter’s eyes have a determined and confident look, almost entirely reassuring you that Aya will be okay. However, he continues to speak.“But from experience, I can tell you one thing. That white piece you had there most likely belongs to a certain… what are they called, guilds? Dojos? Schools? Something like that. This one in particular is known as the Fist of Heaven. Does that sound familiar to you, young man?”Fist of Heaven? You seem to vaguely recall a name like that from your younger days. They were… a rival combat style to the Invincible Fist. But beyond that, is there really some sort of connection between this information and the events of today?>”That does sound familiar, but how do you know so much?”>”Do you think they’re related, Chief Foxcroft?”>”You don’t think my sister got kidnapped by a bunch of weird fist fanatics, do you?”>
>>3241798>”That does sound familiar, but how do you know so much?”
>”You don’t think my sister got kidnapped by a bunch of weird fist fanatics, do you?”
