As the rain continues to fall hard and the dark thoughts mount, you try pulling out some paper and putting down your thoughts. Unfortunately the rain comes down too hard and every page you pull out from your book quickly turns to mush before you can write anything down or even doodle something. Its truly no use, there is no escape from the despair that you feel...

...The hours pass and the heavy rain tires itself out, turning into a light mist that descends down on the farmlands. When the sun finally shows itself you are already ready to move, not having slept at all last night you have simply been waiting for this moment. One foot after the other you mindlessly stumble back into town. When you get there you see people already up and about. Today being the day of the harvest festival seems to have imbued them with energy. They wave and smile tat each other and generally look very upbeat in stark contrast to your deadpan tired self. You just drift past them like a ghost, you have a plan and your body is carrying it out while your sleep deprived mind turns itself off.

Once you get to the fortress you see the tide of peasants that usually come too and fro have greatly increased in quantity. Not only are the merchants going to set up shop but many men and woman are carrying large bushels of wheat, barley, and other assorted baskets of crop into the fortress. You easily step into the conga line and move towards the fortress. At first you worry about getting caught but soon become relieved when you see the fortress guards being there usual relaxed selves. People here come and go every day and the towns market is kept inside the fortress so there is no reason to deny anyone access or even ask what business they have. Besides, its still to early for them to have noticed your escape.

The line does move slow, as the gently slope leading to the fortress gets narrower and narrower the large throngs of people need more time to get past them. At one point a cart even gets stuck in yesterdays mud and you are forced to stand and wait. While you wait you cant help but eves drop on a conversation to pass the time. Two village woman drone on about all things none interesting but at some point they start talking about some killings that apparently took place in the town last night. Three armed men were found dead by a patrol in the “bad” part of town. One of the woman blames the refuges and believes that they are simply killing each other off in their streets, the other agrees. This is apparently not the first time this has happened this year and they hope that this doesn’t cause Jeraldo to interfere in the harvest festival. Both woman have dates with soldiers from the garrison and they would hate if they were suddenly not given the night off.
>>
Getting past the guards at the gate is easy enough, they stop some people at random to inspect their goods but you are not one of them. Once inside, you make your way over to the market to avoid suspicion and have yourself a look around. The fortress grounds are much the same as you left them, the local towns folk and the garrison are still very lax with each other. Towns folk stand where they are not really supposed to be and off duty guards move about the market searching for last minute dates. Apart from buying and selling produce here at the market towns folk also seem to be carrying the harvest crops into the main administrative building. You also notice some of the maids coming in from the town heading towards the servants entrance to the same large building. All this makes it much easier to move around, until someone recognizes you. A thought that makes you pull your hood further over you face possibly becomes MORE conspicuous. As you weigh your options you suddenly realize that all the crows are gone, every single one...

Its 4 hours until you are discovered missing.

You watch the servants coming and going for a while before making your move. It's quickly apparent to you that your [Peasant Disguise] doesn’t match their servant uniform. But on the flip side you notice that not all of them are actually wearing their uniforms as they come in to work. Its possible that some of them change once they get there instead of coming in fully dressed. You had hoped to spot Mary but you are out of luck. You suddenly get the idea to try and sniff her out, you were able to find Jackson this way so maybe you could find Mary this way too.

Finding a more secluded spot you roll back your hood and take in several wiffs of the air, you try to remember what Mary smelled like in the 1st place. You recall she had the faint smell of flour and cheap soap, searching for that smell you find... [insight: 0] Nothing, the world around you just smells like wet grass and horse manure. It's at this point that you suddenly realize you cant smell Jackson either. This makes you panic a little, you understand not being able to find Mary but Jackson? You smelt him so clearly yesterday! The smell drove you to do the insane and escape from your velvet prison and now you cant locate him at all. Did they move him during the night? Did he... die?

With your new found worries clouding your judgement you decide to make a move for the servant entrance. Buying a handful of produce from the market you gather it up in a small basket and head towards the entrance, doing your best to look liek you belong. You give yourself some space from the other servants who have been trickling in but once you enter the building you find yourself in the middle of a bee hive. The entrance opens up into a large kitchen where dozens of servants work on the breakfasts for the higher ups in the garrison. A few dogs hide under tables and do their best to avoid getting underfoot while diligently looking for scraps. If that wasn’t enough you also have other servants moving around eating their own small breakfasts, chit chatting, and coming in and out of the many doors connecting this room. You do your best to blend in and no one seems to notice you, YET. You’re not sure where any of these passages go except for the back stairs. Several nights ago after you were escaping from Jackson's wrath you came through this way, and you KNOW the back stairs lead up into the apartments.

You were in a normal room, the building is made from stone and wood. Maybe it looked that way in the picture but im pretty sure I described it as a normal room (I hope I did). The reason you were able to escape so easily is because of they treated you so well. Being Jackson's, who is a noble, companion affords you some respect.

You scan the room looking for Marry but dont see her anywhere. You carefully step through the throng of people and search everyone face in the forlorn hope that you can find her quickly and easily. [minor fail [9]] No luck, she is not here or at the very least you can't find her. It is at about this point that the dogs seems to notice you, and the don't act very happy to see you. Letting out low growls they actually start to follow you as a pack. You don't know how they knew you don’t belong but they definitely don't seem to like you very much. You worry that they will give you away so you take the drastic step of escaping up the stairs before you get a chance to talk to anyone or ask about Mary's location. Moving quickly you are not spotted, and even if you were no one seemed to care. Looking back down after ascending the stairs you see a single dog still watching you and guarding the way back into the kitchen.
Going up and up the stairs you eventually enter back into the housing complex. From here you know that the room you were staying at is on the top floor while Nathalie's room is on the second floor. Everything else you have no clue and will have to rely on luck. Doing anything from this point on is a pure gamble.

You have 3:30 hours until you are found missing.

Trying to go back to your room is too risky! Especially with all the guards you KNOW are posted outside your room. You also know Mary should eventually show up if you wait long enough but do you really have the time to waste sitting around? Lastly, you are still in peasant clothing, if someone was to find you poking around up here you would get in serious trouble! Although, thinking about it some more, it all kind of pales in comparison to breaking out anyway. At least you have that, if they do end up catching you doing something you shouldn’t be, at least your punishment cant get any worse then it already will be. So you decide to sneak around on the second floor instead, hoping for some good luck after all bad.

Sneaking your way around the second floor you find it much more empty, every now and then someone leaves a room forcing you to hide around a corner but other then that you have the long hallways to yourself. When you finally reach Nathalie's room you gently check the door knob to find it locked. Then after another moments hesitation you give the door a knock. But no one comes to answer, you try one more time with more desperation but yet again no one comes to answer. Bad luck again. It looks like she is not here.

The only room you manage to gain access too is the laundry room. Giving the room a sweep you find what one would expect to find in the laundry room, dirty and fresh clothing. Almost all of it are clothing for military men, but in one of the fresh laundry baskets you manage to find several clean maids uniforms. While the room is empty you quickly take this chance to upgrade you disuse to a [Peasant Maid: disguise]. Just in time too as two maids enter the laundry room, they are deep in conversation and don’t give pay you much attention but have also trapped you. You do your best to look busy but you have no idea what a maid is supposed to be doing so you simply pick up one set of clothing and place it into on top of another set of clothing hoping they don’t look at you long enough to notice that you are actually not doing anything at all. Your rescue comes swiftly when...

... Nathalie walks in and starts talking to the maids. You keep your back turned and simply listen to the conversation.
Maid: “Mistress Nathalie! Is there something we can do for you? Do you need something washed?”
Nathalie: “No, nothing like that. Im just looking for Mary, have you seen her?”
Maid: “Im sorry mistress, but we have not seen Mary today, I think she is still assigned to our guest. Did you check the sleeping quarters? I hear they gave her a bed there.”
Nathalie: “I did, she wasn’t there. Alright well if you see her tell her to find me quickly”
Maid: “A-Are you heading out mistress? Where should I tell her to find you?.”
Nathalie: “Heading out?”
Maid: “Well yes, you are wearing a cape.”
Nathalie suddenly sounds flustered
Nathalie: “Oh, yes, the cape, haha, no im just trying it out to see if it fits me im not planning to go anywhere.”

After that she quickly moves to end the conversation with the maids and escapes, leaving you alone with the other maids.

After Nathalie basically runs out the room, you are a bit slow to follow. When you finaly do, you surprise the two maids as you fly past them. You can hear them start to question just “who the hell” you were. Your goal is to catch up to Nathalie, who has already started descending down the stairs in a flight. She moves surprisingly fast, you wonder where she is rushing off too and why. Unfortunately by the time you reach the stairs yourself, she is gone. You could catch up to here if you really wanted but you worry about exposing yourself. The first floor was packed with activity and it only takes one person to recognize you. Instead you decide on a different tactic...

... heading back over to Nathalie's room you decide to simply [rogue] pick the lock and enter. You don't really want to invade your friends personal space but desperate times call for desperate measures. Pulling out the set of picks you had made a night ago you get right to work. You get close to finishing the task when you suddenly hear the two maids coming down the hall. This causes you to work even faster! As the maids go from room to room and get closer and closer the sweat starts to drip from your forehead. A wave of relief washes over you when you hear the final “click”. Without hesitation you throw yourself into the room and shut the door. But this is not the end of your worries, as the two maids continue going room to room collecting laundry you find yourself once again trapped. When the two woman step up right to Nathalie's room, you soon hear them slid a key into the doorknob. Doing the only thing you can think of, you hold the door knob tightly and refuse to let it turn. You hear the woman on the other side struggling to open the door and argue with each other ”of course I unlocked it, you saw me do it! Im not an idiot”. After some more banter, they decide the lock must be broken or “paranoid Nathalie” had the lock changed. ”That girl thinks all the maids are spying on her, im just trying to do my job!”. The other maid is much nicer ”I think if my pa was as controlling as hers, I would go crazy too”.

When they are finally gone, you breath a sigh of relief. Taking a look around the room you never realized how messy of a person Nathalie is. The last time you were here it was pretty dark and you had... “other things” on your mind. Its hard to take a few steps without stepping on some discarded clothing or a book. On the table you find her messy assortment of bad poetry and some adventure books. You consider sitting on her couch but you would need to knock over a large pile of dresses to do so. You’re not really sure what to do now.

Lets do a 4
>>
It may be a while before Nathalie shows up so you naturally look for a place to sit down. Although, in this mess, the task is not as easy as it sounds. You already invaded her privacy by entering her room uninvited so you are not keen on touching her stuff. But on the other side of that coin: you ALREADY invaded her privacy so doing so a little more is just a drop in the sea at this point. Deciding that the couch is a good place to start you pick up the pile of dresses and drop them off on her bed, this frees up some space so you can have a nice sit. A few seconds of sitting later, you already find yourself giving the objects around you a scrutinizing ocular inspection. After noticing something shiny under a shirt you cant help but reach out to get a hold of it. Your conscience gives one final attempt to stop whats about to come, but you ALREADY entered her room and ALREADY moves her stuff around. Doing a little more rearranging to pass the time would just be another drop right? Right!

[search intensity: 7] This line of reasoning proves to be as dangerous as it sounds, as it quickly avalanches into a full blown enquiry and assessment into Nathalie's inventory. It all starts innocently enough with you cataloguing her dresses and books but soon you find yourself removing your [peasant maid disguise] and trying on Nathalie's dresses by holding them in front of yourself while looking into her mirror. You cant help but notice a trend in the aesthetics, they are all designed to show off quite a bit of leg. Even the longer flowy ones seem to have incisions that accommodate for this design philosophy. You imagine how nice they would look on you if you were as slim and petite, in the right places, like Nathalie. Being a full head taller then Nathalie and much more travelled these dresses would reveal just a little TOO much if you wore them yourself. Their cut off point is down right mathematical in precision!

After getting tired of being reminded of your short comings you try on some of her jewellery as you find them strewn about the room instead. Something you soon abandon after one her gold rings get stuck on your finger! After some initial panic you are able to remove the ring but the event sours you from trying on anything else. [artist]You are content with just admiring their beauty, even with everything that is happening you cant help but admire their quality. Its for the best anyway. On Nathalie's elegant fingers and smooth delicate neck these rings and necklaces shine like radiant stars against a dark blue nights sky. But on your rough, calloused hands and thick neck? The just look like a crude mockery of the real thing, like when someone puts a hat on a dog.

Yet even still there is a single ring that catches your eye more then any other. A dark emerald ring that shines green like your envy for Nathalie. You don't risk getting it stuck on your finger. Yet the ring manages to hypnotizes you, carefully caressing it with your fingers you cant help but notice an inscription as you turn it over in your hands. Its not in any language you can read, but you recognize it as the same language as the alien language from the books of poetry. It would be such a shame for something like this to be lost in the entropy of the room. So you end up pocketing the ring for safe keeping, to be placed back in the right place... later, when you get the chance... Nathalie just has so many things already, you wouldn’t want it to be misplaced.
Clothing and jewellery are not the only things you find in her room, event ought they DO account for the largest portion of the mass. Nathalie also seems to have a large collection of books for you to sort through. You try to gather them all up in one place so you do a more thorough search hoping to find more... books. You check many places in your search for... books. Places such as: under pillows, inside Nathalies closet, on her shelves, and even under her bed. You stop at checking under loose floor boards, that would just be too invasive you know? But other then finding a collection of books, stacking up to about thirty or so, you also find a shovel, a saw, some rope, and even the bow you had gifted Nathalie hidden under her bed. Other then the bow, you wonder about what need she would have for such things. But without a clear answer, you return to the books.

There seems to be three kinds of books in Nathalies collection...
A: Adventure book like you used to read as a kid; these look worm and well read.
B: Books on how to be a proper lady, gardening books and the like; these have been maybe read once or twice or not at all. You can still hear their spine creak as you open them.
C: Romance novels and books on poetry; these seem newer then the other books but have seen a proper reading, the cover still holds yet the back is broken. Some of these books seem to be in that strange language you recall hearing Jackson read out loud to Nathalie. But some are just ordinary light novels with romantic themes. You have never read something like this before, and didn’t even know they existed.
>>
You are almost tempted to start reading one of the romance novels out of shear curiosity. As you have absolutely zero knowledge on the topic at hand you cant help but consider that one of these could be a very useful resource. You spend some time between placing a book in and out of your bag for later reading before finally deciding to leave it where you found it. Unlike the ring you had already started to forget taking, there is something about the contents of these books that just seem scary. You convince yourself that it would be wrong to borrow a book without asking, but even as you lie to yourself a gagged and bound part of yourself knows that you are simply too afraid to read these forbidden texts.

Searching her room yields many results. Not only did you find interesting books for future borrowing, cute clothing to drive you green, and a bizarre pile of tools that have no clear use, but you also find a pile of bags next to the table. These are stuffed mostly with clothing and shoes but also a fifth small bag holds maybe a days worth of food that hasn’t been properly preserved. [bushman] You're not sure what the purpose of all this stuff is, because it cant possibly be for what you think it is for. One would be crazy to travel with 10 pairs of shoes and absolutely nothing to eat so it must have some alternative purpose. But just like the tools you are left guessing without an answer. Eventually you are forced to stop yourself from looking at Nathalie's things due to an ever increasing feeling that you are being watched. At 1st you think its your annoying conscience trying to trick you out of doing something that isn’t even wrong, [rogue] when you look at it logicality. But as the feeling grows you start to become more suspicious. Your first guess is that the crows have returned, but when you check the window there is still not a bird in sight (insight +1). As the feeling increases as does your paranoia, soon you find yourself hiding behind Nathalie's table watching the window until the feeling passes. It never does.

After what seems to be about thirty minutes of staring into the window intently you suddenly hear the door nob to the room start to turn, as a key slides into it. You pray it's Nathalie coming in alone but you don’t risk it. Deciding between the closet and under the bed, you pick the former and hide yourself. From your hidding place you listen as the door opens and closes, you listen as the person relocks the room, and you listen as they cross the room towards the central table. You don’t get a good look at the person through the blinds, but you can tell it's Nathalie anyway. She is wearing her hood over her head and you can only see her cloak from the back but you KNOW its Nathalie. You have seen hear just an hour or so ago and she is still wearing the same boots and cape. You’re happy to see her alone and prepare yourself to exit the closet and greet your friend, but something stops you. Your hand grows weak as it moves to open the closest. You instead watch Nathalie for a while in secret, you cant tell what she is doing but it has something to do with the bags she had gathered. You watch as she struggles to place something into the already overflowing bags, and you watch her start to remove shoes and clothing from the bag in order to make space, only to put them back in again. She is so cute you think, something about her having difficulty in accomplishing a simple task is just so endearing to you. Slowly you open the closet door and step out into the room. She still hasn’t noticed you, but of course, you opened the door as stealthily as you could and every step you take is like a single snowflake reaching cold clay, there is no reason for her to know. You decide that it would be best not to startle her, she may have some guards with her outside and if she screams the whole thing could become very complicated. [hunter] So instead you creep closer and closer towards her, you can smell her. She smells like flowers, she smells like vanilla, she smells like prey.

You kneel down behind her in order to be at the same height and close your eyes. You smell her sweet fragrance and you listen to the soft fidgeting noises she makes. You crane your head to the side in order to hear her better. There is something about the small noises she makes that make the hairs on you neck stand on end. The sound of fabric on fabric and the light clinks of metal, It reminds you of... something. You block out all the sounds in the world other then Nathalie's worried rustling, not that there was much else to listen too anyway, but now there is only her. This doesn’t last as long as you would like, you are brought back to reality when Nathalie suddenly stands up. Acting on instinct, you carry out the last order you gave your brain before tranceing out and quickly shoot up behind her.
>>
Before she can turn around you deny her the ability to do so by placing one hand over her mouth and the other around her waist. You pull her into yourself and brace her head against your shoulder. Nathalie reacts to this exactly how you would expect, like an angry, cornered cat. She kicks, flails, and makes about as much noise through your hand as possible. She surprises you with her ferocity but is ultimately no match for your raw superior strength. As she trys to claw at your face you are quick to grab firm hold of her wrist and when she attempts to kick you in the shin you bring the fight to the ground in order to increase your control.

As her situation becomes more and more hopeless for her she only expends more and more energy in an attempt to free herself. But on your end the whole thing is much more controlled. You can feel her heart beat pump as you engulf her body with yours, the sweat already builds around her wrist. Her small body struggling and squirming against yours fills with with an emotion that you simply cant place. You have no idea what this emotion is but it fills you until you are over flowing with it. You feel it in the pit of your stomach and it boils your blood in between the cold waves that pulsate through your body. It fills holes in your soul that you never knew existed. She is so small and warm, the more she struggles the more your own heart beat starts to race. The voices in your head all start to speak at once and your cognitive dissonance only grows as you strugle to proccess them. As you search all your memory banks for some semblance of precedent for this unknown feeling. The fact that you still haven’t even TOLD Nathalie that it is YOU who has grabbed her trys to force itself to the forefront of your mind but you are simply overloaded. Your mind eventually is able to cobble together a Frankenstein of several memorys as it tries to explain this esoteric eruption of unkown composition and origin. You remember a dream where you attempted to force a seemingly invincible cat to notice you only to be completely ignored no matter how much pain you forced upon it. You remember a rabbit that you held tightly in your arms as it fanatically tried to escape from you, never knowing you were only trying to save it from the cooking pot, you remember your uncle backhanding you across the face when you had run away for three days. But this makeshift piece wont fit into the jigsaw, as you press Nathalie closer to yourself and you feel her weak kicks beween you thighs the emotion is deafening, it threatens to drive you insane. Your skin houses an infinite sea of worms and they all want out!
>>
Its only been eight seconds since you placed your hand around Nathalie's mouth but for you it seems like long minutes. After all this run time your internal CPU is finally fed the proper set of tasks from the ever expanding quenu and you speak the words you should have a long time ago: “Nathalie, its me, Kae. Relax youre safe, its me!”. That unknown emotion is pushed into the back of your mind as your brain starts churning out task after task and you realize what you have been doing to your friend. You can feel Nathalie start to relax as you slowly release your vice grip on her mouth and waist. Nathalie was at the end of her rope, she takes a long moment to breath. Her breaths come hard and heavy as she had already exhausted all her emergency supplies of energy trying to escape. You let her breath, but the concept of getting off her has still not been processed by your throttled brain. Your hands yearn to scour Nathalie's body in case she is hiding the answer to your confusion somewhere on her person. Luckily that feeling only makes sense for a about a moment. In your delirium black could be made to smell like white. Eventually she manages to wriggle herself around to look at you. As your eyes meet her face turns sour and she starts to cry, through her tears she manages out one word ”why?”.

>Well? Why did you do that?

Hug her , place her head on us, try no to cry seeing her cry and....damn she is so soft and....FOCUS KAE!

Tell her we are sorry, we didn't want to leave her but we were afraid, but now we are back, we said we would be back and here we are, we were ao afraid she would be angry with us.

Also, qm, damn fine scene, Kae almost loses it when she is around Nat.

“Why” she repeats whilst continue to wriggle around underneath you. You cant tell if she is trying to escape your grasp, or if she is moving to a more comfortable position. You really should get off her at this point, but you don't. Your brain is far too busy trying to keep order in your mind to send commands to your extremities. Your body will have to sort itself out for the time being. A small closed fist hammers into your chest, and again, Nathalie demands an answer from you: ”WHY!?”. [Well? Why did you do that?: FAIL] You don't really know why you did that, or why you are STILL doing it. What ever IT is anyway. This new emotion that you are still experiencing, although not as strongly as before, makes your heirs stand on their ends and defies explanation. The only thing you know for sure is that it is nothing like the weak emotions civilized humans are used too; such as joy and sorrow. This emotion is RAW and PRIMAL, like terror or jealousy You can feel it grip your entire body and compel you to act, it enters your mind and clouds your judgement. It makes you question the authenticity of the emotions you had felt before today. No, you cannot explain why you are doing what it is that you are doing. But you can... apologize.

[alternative] “I'm sorry Nathalie, I didnt want to hurt you” you don't know why but you cant help inch your face closer to hers as you talk. “I didn’t want to leave you but... , you are suddenly interrupted as Nathalie hammers another fist into your chest, not only does she interrupt you but she impedes your forward motion. You try to ignore it and just continue explaining yourself. ”I didn’t want to leave you, but I was scared, and now I came back to you just like I said I would” . But Nathalie doesn’t seem to listen, she just starts to hammer you again and again with the only arm she is able to get enough momentum with. Again and again her fist hits you, as if she is trying to hammer her feelings into your chest. Through your leather armour it just feels like soft rhythmic drumming. Worried that she will just end up hurting yourself, you take hold of her wrist and pin her arm to the ground. She lets out a long frustrated lament, but ultimately stops fighting you. You can tell she has finally been defeated, all her strength was used in that final defensive assault. [hunter] She is yours now, and its only natural that the weak should belong to the strong. You gaze down at your prize with a deep longing, her beauty now belongs to you. Sensing something in your eyes, perhaps by instinct, she immediately breaks eye contact. She struggles to look at everything but you, and her frantic fidgeting triggers something inside you. When her chest starts to touch yours you wonder how she got so close... Her soft breasts press against yours and you can feel your hearts beating in rythem. ”I was afraid you would be angry with me, don't be angry with me”. Her soft supple lips part as if to reply but she says nothing, those sweet alluring lips... [CHA:1] licking your cracked, rough lips you cant help compare yourself to her again. You wish you could look just like her, instead of a mangy animal. Maybe then people wouldn't treat you like something to be abused, mistreated, and disregarded. Maybe then people wouldn’t attack you in alleyways and threaten to rape you. You are so close to her that the tips of your noses touch. Your eyes close and you mouth opens, but not to speak.
>>
[- 1 hp]

You are brought back to reality when Nathalie suddenly headbutts your nose. The creeping emotion that was consuming you suddenly is sucked out of your body as the shock of the impact travels through your nervous system. You push yourself off Nathalie and press your hands against your nose. D-did she just break your nose??? ”SORRY! IM SO SORRY I DIDNT MEAN TO DO THAT! I was just trying to... sorry sorry!” you hear Nathalie shout at you but you are too busy wondering about your nose. You test it out by taking in some air through it. It seems to work fine and you cant feel anything broken. Pressing your fingers under your nostril you find a bit of blood. Damn, you didn’t know the girl had it in her, how did you end up getting so close to her anyway? Your body was actign on its own!!! Just what were you planning on doing to sweet Nathalie? You are about to stand up to get a better look at yourself in the mirror, when you suddenly feel Nathalie get a firm hold of your cloak. She hugs you hard “Im sorry! It was an accident, im sorry, im sorry” . You should be the one apologizing, you return Nathalies hug but this time with only affection for your friend. Even with all of Nathalie's looks, jewellery, dresses, servants, castle, and status, she is the loneliest person, other then yourself, you have ever known. She reminds you of an orphaned kitten mewing for a family to take her in. At 1st you were pretty surprised at how quickly she changed gears and attempted to befriend you, and even after the stunt you just pulled her greatest fear is that you will leave her again. She starts to cry again and you hold her tight, resting your head on top of hers. She must truly be desperate to seek companionship in a wreck like you.
>>
Some time passes with the two of you locked in each others arms, you gently pet the top of her head like Jackson sometimes did for you. When Nathalie is finally ready to speak, as if the two of you had formed a psychic connection, the first thing she says is “Im sorry, but I couldn’t find out anything about Jackson for you like aI said I would. Dad wont talk to me at all about it and none of the maids have seen him. Other then when he was brought in yesterday of course.” You’re not exactly sure what she is talking about, when did Nathalie say she would look into the Jackson situation for you? Last you remember Mary told you Nathalie didnt even read your letter. ”Don't worry about it. Tell me Nathalie, are you planning to travel?, she doesn’t say anything but you can feel her twitch. ”I don’t want you going anywhere, something is going to happen here I can feel it. You must stay inside.” At this Nathalie pushes away from you a little ”Youre not my MOM, I can go where ever I like! And besides, who are YOU to tell someone they are mot allowed to suddenly go on a trip without telling anyone!”. Ooh, right in the gut.

Well, mary said Nat threw the letter in the garbage, i think it is to check if she actually read it.

But thinking about it, maybe Nat threw the letter away to not show she would read it and then picked it up later.
>>
>>3247377
That was a miss reply actually, sorry. your question was
>Ask if she knows what they want to do with us, why they locked us up
You know the answer to this already, its because they think you attacked Jackson since you left jackson a note before you left and hid the bloody bed sheets that they found. It is also possible he attacked you, they dont know and are keeping you captive until it gets sorted out. You did attack Jackson, but they cant prove it unless jackson rats you out.

Well, she is not wrong, you really aren’t someone who can tell her not to run away. Unlease you want to be a HUGE hypocrite. So all you can really do is concede this point for now. But her response lets you deduce that she is definitely planning to run away. This is unacceptable to you. Something bad is going to happen, and you need Nathalie to NOT be out there when it does.
“You're right Nat, I guess its not fair for me to tell you what to do.
You reach out and attempt to brush some of the loose hairs that have stuck themselves onto her face to the side. But she dodges your hand, you can feel your heart sink.
“Thats right! You left me with some bizaro note and I was worried sick. Everyone was saying that Jackson must have attacked you, the room was a mess! Why didn’t you wake me when you were clearly in my room??? You promised you would help me then you just ran off!”
”w-well y-ou see-e-ee I-”
[CHA: 1]You start to shrink away from Nathalie as she lambastes your actions. You may be a physical titan when compared to Nathalie but her personality eclipses your fragile ego.
”See what?? Youre a BAD friend! And you scared me half to death just now, I thought i was getting kidnapped by some assassin! Really Kae I know you are a simple woodland peasant but you need to get some sense in your head.”
”yeah sorry... um... Mary s-said you throw my letter in the trash aah-I didn't know if you would scream...”
”I SHOULD have left it in the trash, but I obviously read it. Didn’t you get my letter? I send it with Mary.
she notices the puzzled look on your face
”I put it in the BOOK, did you even read it???”
Oh, thats right. I guess that letter was from Nathalie all along.
“Actually know that I think about it, how did you even escape?? How did you get in my room????”
This conversation is moving away from whats really important, so you wave all that away and jump back to the previous topic.
”I read it b-but... thats not important, whats important is that something bad is going to happen here Nat I feel it in my BONES. Trust me on this you cant leave please reconsider, I had this dream... and you were in it see, and just... just TRUST me as your FRIEND.”
Nathalies response is pretty direct
”No, im going out tonight to see the festival. Im tired of being caged here.”
”well... then im coming with you.”
”Kae, I don’t know how you managed to escape. But when they realize you are missing they are going to lock this place down. Then Ill NEVER get out of here...”
Nathalie pauses for a long moment
”Kae, you need to turn yourself in...”

I won't turn myself in, butbyou can help me get back into my room, so no one will notice I escaped, the at night we can go together to town if you still want it, but you have to promise you won't go there alone, I know I was bad and ahould have woken you....but you are the onluly friend I have and I can't let anything happen to you, besides, the festival will be much more fun if we go together don't you think?

She can help us go back to our room before anyone notices, distracting the guards and so on.
We know we went away but we came back for her didn't we? That must count for something, and we need to be near her because we know shit is about to happen.

You meet her line in the sand with your own line in the sand
”thats not going to happen, im not turning myself in.”
”What do you mean you’re not going to turn yourself in??” You plan to live like a convict for the rest of your life?”
”I don't care im not going to let you go out alone, you’re my only friend and I have to keep you safe.
You can see Nathalie's eyebrows twitch as they start to contort
”heh, I guess you didn’t hear me Kae. You ARE going to turn yourself in. You dont have to worry about me, I can take care of myself! im not some kid ya know?”
Recalling the contents of her bags you are not convinced at all
”Im not turning myself in”
”You are turning yourself in”
”no”
She is starting to look pretty pissed
”As YOUR friend, im not going to let you become an escaped criminal. You ARE turning yourself in or ILL report you to the first guard I see”
”t-then ill tell them you are planning on escaping!”
It looks like she was prepared for this, because a sly look starts to run across her face
”Ah, but if you recall Kae, you had PROMISED to do one thing for me a few nights ago. And im calling in that favour: 'you are not allowed to tell anyone that im planning on escaping tonight!'”

She seems very smug with herself

”Well, maybe you can meet me halfway. Help me escape back into my room and ill just escape again [QM NOTE: absolutely not guaranteed]. Then we can go together?”
”What, how?”
”Maybe you can distract the guards or something?”
”Jeez Kae, I hope you can think of a better plan then that. I already tried coming to see you the Guards wont let me come anywhere near you or the room”

As a callback; The promise Nathalie is talking about is back when you took a bath together she made you promise to help her with something in the future but wouldn't tell you what it was. Mary can help us, if we can find her, we just need someone to distract the guards there so I can slip back into the room.
And you are the one who orders people around here right? Just order them to come to you for some reason.

As for your escape, how do you plan on doing it?

The rape card can be withheld but we can try telling something bad would happen to us if we absolutely can't find a way to convince her of not going, if she goes there alone she is 100% sure getting raped or kidnapped by Loki and his thugs.
>>
>>3248708
you and mary can help me by distracting the guards so I can get inside, your father will kill me if he discovers I was outside.

but before any of that, she has to promise us she won't go into town alone, there are bandits there and they attack lone women, we should go with her

a good moment for some lewd mock wrestling as we show her some moves
But to do that you have to help me get back in my room so we can escape together at night, two independent girls having fun together, what do you think?

”Well, maybe you can pretend to trip or something and when the guards come to help you ill slip back in. Or maybe you can just order them away? You are in charge here right?”
”W-with plans like that I don't know how you ever managed to escape! Did they just let you out or something? There are TWO guards and they are dads elite they wont fall for something like that. Also, I cant give orders to dads men. I know I have the royal bearing but im not actually a noble like Jackson. I just, uuuh, sort of live here? A-anyway, the room is also LOCKED, how do you plan to 'just slip in'”
”Ill pick the lock”
”Just like that? ”
”The plan is a work in progress, I got into your room didn’t I? Don't underestimate me, I know what im doing. I just need a distraction. How do you know all this anyway?”
”Marry told me, I tried figuring a way to sneak in and see you. But other then coming in through the window or through a wall it didn’t seem possible.”
You sit and think for a moment
”I also need to find Marry, she may be the key to getting back into my room. Can you help me with that? ”
”Sure can, she is meeting up with me here before she goes to deliver your meal. We just have to wait.”
Well that simplifies things, I guess there is no reason to discus a plan without Marry.
”So how do YOU plan on escaping the fortress? Are you going alone?”
”Im going to dress up like a maid and leave with Marry, I wont even be alone.”
”Marry agreed to whisk you out of the fortress?”
”mhmm, I took care of everything. I don't know why you are so worried its not like im going alone into the world. Im just going with Marry to the festival for a few hours. The whole town is going to be there even the solders. It will be safer there then here!”
You really don't have anything to complain about, maybe you are really over reacting. But the visions of yours... they were REAL. You cant escape this feeling of impending doom, yet there doesn’t seem to be a way to convince Nathalie. Your only choice to stop this stubborn girl is to physically restrain her or rat her out. And even if you manage to sneak back in your room, further conversation with Nathalie reveals that she plans on escaping at FIVE o'clock and returning at NINE o'clock. You cant reliably escape the same way again until at least TWELVE o'clock, and she wont wait for you, but admits that she would very much enjoy your company. Out of desperation you tell her about the men that tried attacking you last night, but holding back on the grimy details, hoping to shake some sense into her. But it seems to have no effect on her at all, she just waves it off like its nothing. Perhaps she has been far to sheltered to understand what you are trying to say or is refusing to understand.

You sink deep into thought, you are really grasping at straws at this point. At the very least you have Nathalie right here in front of you. Eventually Nathalie speaks up, a very odd look spills across her ever increasing red face.
”S-so Kae, are you ever going to tell me what exactly happened between you and Jackson that night? What was so bad that made you run away? Did he hurt you? D-did you guys... you know... did he try to...?”
At a lose for words, Nathalie makes a motion with her hands in and attempt to explain what she cant with words alone. With one hand she makes a circle with her index finger and thumb, then she uses the index finger on her other hand to penetrate the circle a few times.
”W-was it that scary?”

>How do you react to Nathalie's question?
>after this we are going to jump to you trying to sneak back into your room.

anyway, to the question at hand

Well, we actually-didn't- it- I was_ I mean I got strange and- we fought, he got angry and left, I got scared he was angry at me and I escaped....it was stupid, so stupid but I was....
(get completely embarrassed but try to tell her we fought and we think it's our fault)

when Mary gets here we should warn her to not let anyone serve them drinks and if they see someone with a wolf pelt over their head they should stay away from them since he is a bandit.
