> In this reality Good and Evil are objectively real, tangible forces that act in the lives of Men, and are locked in eternal conflict. Across the cosmos countless worlds are caught in the struggle, and over the course of eons Good has lost ground, as Evil festers and the Gods lays silent. There are no depths to which Evil will not sink, and no end to the unrelenting tide of Men given wholly unto temptation. Good stands strong, but every world lost is never again gained, and Evil grows fiercer by the day. Perhaps its ultimate victory is inevitable, but Good Men remain, and it shall not come without a fearsome struggle.
> Far flung from the center of the cosmos, one world languishes, its Golden Age has come and gone and it lies in the grip of decay. The faith in the temples has dwindled, famine comes more often than not, plagues run rampant on a defenseless people, and in the darkest places, Evil festers. Left alone, this world would fall, consumed by Demons, unholy avatars of Evil made manifest, but it is not alone, for in a distant place, outside a homely village, an Angel, the purest incarnations of what little Good yet remains has formed, and it does intend to leave this fallen world to its undeserved fate.
> You are that Angel, and for the sake of the righteous few, you shall render Judgement.
>> By what Name shall you be known?

In the farthest reaches of the frigid north, a homely collection of cabins lays amidst the snowy pines, and a guilt-stricken man shivers in his bed. In his past he was a bandit, a killer for pleasure and profit wanted across a dozen kingdoms. He fled to the hinterlands where none knew him, to escape the suffering his youth sowed across a hundred hamlets like his own, and in his dream, he stands neck-deep in frozen water beneath a starless sky. There is no noise but the slowly rising water, and he cannot bring his lips to speak.

Above him stands a woman on the ice. She is clad in an austere, well-worn winter cloak, her skin is darker than the sky above, and a brass horn curls from her skull. He glances at the tip, and a vision strikes, in that moment he feels the emptiness of every coin he counted, the woe of every humble family he left broken, and the flames of every cottage he left in ashes. It is the purest agony and when it fades, all that remains is the silence and the chill in his soul. The man knows he can never undo what he has done, and this woman knows his Evil. He weeps in unspeakable regret, and her closed eyes regard him with contempt.

Then, as swift as the lightning in a storming sky, a thousand blazing eyes gaze upon him, and beneath the darkness of past deeds, his very soul is laid bare. The horn affixed to the judge’s skull blazes white-hot, and a keen-edged blade of ice springs to meet his neck. The former marauder’s mourning ceases as the crisp silence breaks with the sound of her voice, and in that moment, he knows naught but fear of the coming judgement.

> REPENT

The blade swipes across his throat and he awakens, drenched with sweat. His wife, ignorant of days gone by stares, wracked with worry, as his skin feels cold to the touch and feverishly repeats the same two words again and again. “Duma, Repent! Duma, Repent! Duma, Repent!” She does not know it, but an Angel has arrived in the world, and across no less than five continents, countless others awaken, ruthless killers, shameless whores, and crooked brokers alike tremble, for they know the judgement is nigh.

It is the depths of the wealthy merchant’s manor, and wicked men laugh as the chalk circle is drawn. There is no light but the flickering candles, and in the moment the squall of a mewling babe freshly taken from its cradle is heard, one can hear a pin drop, then the laughter resumes, reinvigorated with cruel intensity. Each of them is an affluent member of the community, cloaked and masked so that none may know their name, and each takes their place as their master lays the infant to rest on the upraised stone in the circle center.

He gives the signal and the black chant begins as he draws his blade. True Evil, unmistakable in its stench is in the air, and each revels in it. The chant starts slowly, as the master waves his blade with a theatric flourish, heightens as he waves it above his head, and reaches a fever pitch as he calls out unto ancient forces best left forgotten. He raises the blade over his head, both hands clasped, and prepares to bring it thundering down when a chill fills the air, the chanting ceases, and the wailing infant goes silent.

The cultists cease to speak as a wave of deepest cold from the chamber’s center sends them stumbling, and the master stands, dagger-half-descended, frozen solid as an icicle hanging from a branch in the wake of the dawn. The chill is heart-stopping, yet the babe is held in warmth, and the wretched men stare in shock, as a swiftly slashing blade from the dark sees their master shattered. A thousand shards fall to the floor, three stare in unthinking horror, some seven have the presence of mind to flee, and two draw their blades to rush.

None of them survive, as the white-cloaked one strikes with the speed of a viper, and those who dare to threaten the most innocent are undone in short order. First, the two who charged are frozen then broken in a single motion, and the remainder collapse, utterly limp as their lungs refuse to move, and a stubborn two convulse, but the Angel’s blade soon sees them drown in their blood. Duma watches over the dying cultists, and brass horn gleaming, blades receding, she has a decision to make.

>> These men have committed unspeakable deeds, and their damned souls hang in the balance. This is the first choice of many to make, and you can only hope you make Good of your decisions.

The Angel gazes into the depths of these wretched apostate’s souls and finds them wanting. Their memories are filled with acts of despicable debauchery such as can scarcely be described, daily acts of unthinking deception, almost weekly infernal communion, spitting in the face of all that is Good. One of them was a local priest, and when Duma finds they intended to dine on the infant’s tender flesh once their patron had their way, she decides that she has seen enough. The horn upon her skull shines with holy light, and the ambient Evil in the chamber flees as the souls of the unholy are torn from their bodies and given unto the spike of the righteous. She takes their Evil within and consumes it, rendering its vile taint unto the purest of Good, and sheds frozen tears for their own sake.

Utterly destroying these mortal souls is a painful act, but it is one that must be done, and no doubt a much preferable fate to languishing in the pits of an eternal Hell. The cultist’s memories are as varied as the looks of terror on their faces, the master was a wandering peddler before he came across a scrap of a forbidden book, the merchant who owns the manor once framed an innocent man for an act of obscene rape he committed, and the carpenter had done nothing but attend meetings before tonight. Each of them is taken into Duma’s horn, consumed in a radiant light, and when all is said and done, she stands, marveling at the strength that fills her figure, and the heightened keenness within her mind.

The deed done, she turns away from the chilled husks, and waves her hand over the infant’s brow. Not a single moment of this night will remain in its memory, and as she tucks it into the warmth of her bosom, her angelic form takes on a human shape akin to its own. Evildoers would do well not to mistake subtlety for weakness, for the Angel’s holiness yet remains, and the fullness of its icy wrath may be unveiled in mere moments.

>> This infant’s memories are sparse, and the merchant’s contact, a southern trafficker of men, women, and children, didn’t bother to mention the name of its parents. It is an orphan, and if it is to live, it requires a home.
>> Where should it go?

The thought of leaving this poor babe to the capricious whims of fate is unthinkable, but Duma is on a holy mission and has no other choice. That said, there is no reason she can’t tilt the odds in his favor, and as she leaves the basement of the manor, she has a clear destination in mind. As she rises the stairs an aging woman, the wife of the merchant threatens her, and falls into the deepest of slumbers at the wave of a hand. She had no part in her husband’s blasphemy, and the Angel only hopes she can cope with it when she awakens.

Fortunately enough the manor is a small affair, a mere two stories, with no guards or children, save the adulterous groundskeeper whose soul she took, and Duma manages to leave it behind without much issue. The merchant’s home was on the outskirts of a reasonably sized township, Stathmore, she recalls from a memory not her own, and the outskirts are blocked by no wall. The Angel walks through the nighttime streets, disgusted by the Evil faintly lingering throughout this place, and stops with a ghost of a smile as she detects a spark of Good from a humble cottage. She peers into the sleeping minds of those within and finds a man whose seed is impotent, and his wife, who wants nothing more than to raise a family of her own.

They’ve been trying for months now, with no success, and want a child of their own more than anything else. Duma kisses the infant on its brow, and lays it in the grass before their home. She knocks on the door, only just loud enough to be heard, and ducks into a nearby alleyway. Moments later, the would-be father opens the door, is concerned at the sight of the unaccompanied child, and takes it into his household. Angels have a sense for Good, and there is no doubt in Duma’s mind that he will have a loving home here.

> (1/2)
>>
>>3253090

Still, an injustice yet remains. Striding across the cobblestones, the essence of unseen silence, she taps on the thatch and releases a smidgen of her power in a blessing. The cost is noticeable, but the boon inestimable. Nine months from now, when the infant’s toddler-hood is in full swing, he’ll find that he isn’t the only baby belonging to the newlywed couple, and with that, the pitch-skinned Angel fades into the night.

>> Good deeds are righteous and should be aspired to, but so long as those who do Evil remain, the lives of Good people are in peril. This is an injustice that cannot and will not stand, so long as you draw breath. Evil tends to congregate, and you acquired a fair bit of knowledge on the unholy underbelly of the region.
>> What wrong will you cleanse first?

It is likely the occultist was a fool who didn’t know the true nature of what he was selling, and judging by the merchant’s memories, it is likely the human trafficker is in league with necromancers, those who wield pure Evil to do sorcery, the weight of whose blasphemies are beyond Duma’s current strength. What is certain is that Evil lies in Stathmore, and it is in the Angel’s power to undo. Her decision is made, and none may sway it. Rarely does Good emerge on its own, far more often it must be nurtured and cultivated, to ensure the seed an Angel’s diligent work planted doesn’t die with the passing of a single winter.

For every pious soul shining bright with Good, a dozen more delight in Evil, and a hundred have no care for any but themselves. This is shameful in the eyes of the righteous, and this must change. Nearly two-hundred men, women, and children lay their heads to rest in Stathmore, and nearly two-hundred are in dire need of what the Angel can do. Cloaked in concealment of the night, Duma strides from house to house examining the souls of those present. What she finds is disappointing but far from disheartening. The people here are ignorant, caring only for themselves and those closest to them, but they are innocent of true Evil, and need but a single push to embrace the good that is Good.

So the Angel does, and soon enough, gentle push comes to shove comes to tumultuous impelment most profound. It starts simple enough, a dream of crushing poverty in the significantly less cruel merchant, a sense of piercing guilt in the drunk subsisting on the generosity of friends, a sudden inspiration to a beleaguered priest doubting his faith, and a dozen more vindications scattered across the settlement, but soon, the example they set spirals out of control in the best way possible. After the initial spark, the beginnings of genuine Good spread like wildfire and the Angel barely has to do anything.

Once or twice, the momentum flags, but a well-placed rebuff to remaining vestiges of temptation more than suffices, and once it gets going, it cannot be stopped. By the end of the month, each and every single soul in Stathmore is living, breathing, seeking, and spreading Good and the temple, a mere two seats from emptiness only last month, is on the verge of overcrowding as the priest gives fiery after fiery sermon on the virtues of righteousness, and the crowds of men, women, and children from every walk of life hang onto his every word, and do all that they can to apply it to their own lives.

> (1/2)
>>
>>3253444

The sheer beauty of it all it is beyond description, and there is not a doubt in Duma’s mind that this won’t persist for a dozen generations. Such Holiness, the Angel soaks in it and vindicated, feels her power swell manyfold. If she can replicate what she has done here elsewhere, it is certain this world will be a bastion for Good for many centuries to come. However, her work here is done, and no matter how much she wishes to, she cannot remain. So long as the taint of Evil remains, she cannot and will not rest.

>> Such Goodness, you can scarcely contain it, and soon you won’t, as it begins to bleed into your surroundings. That is not a bad thing, far from it, as Good is meant to be shared, and deep inside, you can feel your soul generating Good, independent of any deed. It is almost nothing compared to what you have gained, but its mere presence speaks magnitudes.

It does not matter how virtuous the men of Stathmore are if they are left to oppose Evil on their own. Left to be, in a dozen generations the purity of the people will dwindle to a mere husk of its former self, then cease as Evil forces its way into the community. Duma knows this and cannot bare to see such a rare, Holy place tarnished by the passing of ages. No, if it is to be a bastion of Good, their gathering place must be consecrated such that they will never abandon the principles she’s laid down.

The Angel finds the temple in the dead of night, and approaches the door. She lays her hand on it, and the rickety entryway opens wide without so much as the faintest sound. The dozen ancient pews carved by those who settled this place in the distant past warm her frigid heart, but they are not what she seeks. Duma’s eyes are affixed to the altar, wholly ignoring the effigies of this world’s pantheon. Moments pass and she stands beside it, then behind it. The door closes without the slightest noise, and a short blade springs from her wrist.

Soon after it slits the veins beneath the hand opposite to it, surely a lethal wound to any man, but she is an Angel and to a manifestation of purest Good such injuries are ephemeral and quick to heal. They are far from of little consequence, however, and Duma smiles at the snowy white ichor leaking from the wound. A finger dabs into the liquid, splashes it across the priest’s pulpit, and repeats, in the pews, the walls, and even the ceiling until the entirety of the humble shrine has been infused with her lifeblood.

From henceforth, those within the temple will feel the guilt of their past misdeeds magnified manyfold, all shall be silent as the priest brings himself to speak, and never again will he be at a loss for the perfect words to encourage Good amongst the wayward members of his flock. Duma feels far weaker, but merely standing in this Holy place renews her vigor, and she knows if she stayed a mere month she might recover the power she had lost and then some. The loss of strength is not significant to the Angel of Silence, for she cares only that the innocent child she saved grows into a noble, upstanding man.

She turns as if to leave the township, then pauses in sudden thought. No matter her strength, the Angel cannot avenge the slain and judge the wicked alone, a companion is needed, a fervent champion of Good to bring the light into the darkest places. Duma begins her search and it isn’t long before she finds him, a youth of nineteen summers, strong in limb and stronger in will, radiating a faint aura of Good, and deep inside, mourning that the innocent must suffer even as Stathmore prospers. The Angel lays her hand on his shoulder and for an instant, reveals her true form.

Such a sight might be enough to make an Evildoer stumble away, retching bile as regret grips their soul, but this youth is a truly Good man, given unto Good and nothing but the Good, and he smiles with an intact mouthful of near-white teeth. He falls to his knees and says unto her, “An Angel in the flesh. My name is Dyten, Holy One, how may I serve?” The blade of the righteous lays on his shoulder, and bids him rise as she utters a single word.

> FOLLOW

And so they are off, after a minute’s allowance to retrieve his woodsman’s axe, a handful of foodstuffs, and a battered helmet a hundred years past its prime. The man is eager to fight the Evil until his dying breath, and not once has he gazed upon her form with juvenile lust, though she knows the temptation in his soul is strong. He may be a mere peasant now, but should he survive, in time, he will be a powerful force for Good.

>>This mortal, his body is so weak and his mind so fragile. You almost can’t bare to send him against the slaves of Evil as he is, and much of the power you gained in the blessing of Stathmore remains. Perhaps you should instill in him a blessing most potent?
> Yes, you shall bless this young boy, such that he can overcome any mortal foe. (specify)
> No, you shan’t reward mere Goodness out of hand, this Dyten must first prove himself.
> No, you wish to, but you feel that you lack the Good to spend it frivolously, and must wait.

The Angel regards the mortal and in her peerless wisdom, deduces that diligence shall teach Dyten to be humble, and that he must earn her blessing through acts of valor. Furthermore, she ponders the cult she suspects is spreading, and reasons that the best way to oppose Evil is to ensure it is unable to take root. Duma asks her first follower where the nearest village is and he answers as soon as the words have passed her lips. Not three days later they stand in the outskirts of the treeline looking in, and the Angel’s soul is lifted at the wellspring of Good she perceives in the settlement.

There are perhaps thirty peasants living here, and they are humble, honest people attending their temple each day, and their fields each fall. This nameless hamlet is truly an inspiration but as she bares witness to the hearts and minds of the men here, she is disheartened. The closest thing they have to a leader, a Good man, father of three soon to be four, was killed by a bandit’s arrow not five days ago after refusing to pay an unjust tithe.

According to the memories of the people, a dozen thieves have a camp in a cave nearby, and they are led by a deserter called Folc. Even worse, they arrived not a week before you came and are in service to a much larger band, led by an Evil, lecherous man named Holger the Foul. These bandits were once in service to the kingdom of Ornut’s military but fled the campaign abroad to loot and pillage the undefended northlands.

Dyten, incensed at this atrocity, asks the Angel what is to be done and she replies with the warmest voice and a hand on his shoulder.

> Child, go forth and raise the brave sons of this village, instill in them the courage to cast off their oppressors, and lead them forth to banish the bandits from this land.
> Fear not. I shall watch you and guide you in this today, but one day, you and the grace of the gods alone will stand against Evil, and before that day comes, you must learn to make Good on your own.
> Go, and know that I am near.

At that, the peasant boy gives a firm nod and approaches the village, wood-axe on one shoulder, and shouts at the top of his lungs. “GOOD PEOPLE OF THIS VILLAGE! THE REIGN OF HOLGER’S MARAUDERS HAS GONE ON TOO LONG, AND I WILL PUT AN END TO IT! TODAY THE SKULL OF THE COWARD FOLC, TOMORROW THE FAT HEAD OF THE HOG HOLGER HIMSELF, AND THE DAY AFTER THAT, ANY WHO WOULD DARE PREY ON THE INNOCENT! SONS, YOUR BROTHER HAS DIED! DAUGHTERS, YOUR HUSBAND IS DEAD! A GOOD MAN HAS DIED FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN TO SATISFY A BRIGAND’S BLOODLUST, AND IF WE DO NOT OPPOSE HIM TODAY, HE WILL END THE LIFE OF ANOTHER TOMORROW!”

“THE KING IS FAR, FAR AWAY, AND HIS MEN ARE THE SAME DISLOYAL DESERTERS THAT SCOURGE US! WE CAN DEPEND ON NO KINGDOM, AND WE MUST TAKE JUDGEMENT INTO OUR OWN HANDS! ON THIS DAY, I MARCH ON FOLC’S FEW, AXE IN HAND, AND I WILL DO SO ALONE OR AT THE HEAD OF AN ARMY, FOR I AM DRIVEN BY THE PROMISE OF A BETTER TOMORROW! FATHERS, SONS, AND BROTHERS OF THIS VILLAGE, WILL YOU FIGHT FOR YOUR FAMILIES, OR WILL YOU LAY DOWN FOR THE DOGS THE DESERTERS ARE? IF YOU HOLD THE HOMES YOU’VE BUILT TO BE WORTH YOUR LIFE, TAKE THE PITCHFORK AND THRESHING BLADE IN HAND, AND MARCH AT MY SIDE, FOR THE BANDITS OF FOLC DIE ON THIS DAY!”

He then turns, walking with grim determination, and no less than sixteen men of all ages barrel out of their houses to amass behind this total stranger, for even they can feel the Goodly wrath he promises to bring. The speech brings a single tear to Duma’s eye, and she vanishes to follow them in the form of a white mist. The villagers weren’t exaggerating when they said the cave was nearby, for a mere four hours of forced marching in the direction of a campfire is all it takes to reach the bandit’s den. It is a pitiful sight, with not a single sentry on watch, at least three men napping, dirty laundry hung out to air, and the feared Folc’s bow-string left untied.

They never stood a chance, and as the furious mob hits them like a ballistae in a toothpick palisade, it occurs to the Angel that her blessing of good fortune was wholly unnecessary. She watches, her form immaterial, as Dyten severs a scrambling swordsman’s head from his shoulders with a single swing, and in the next two seconds, makes Good on his promise to undo the wily archer. Scarcely a full minute passes before the skirmish is done, and as dawn breaks, it’s revealed that the bandit’s defeat was total, yet not so much as a single flesh wound was suffered by the vigilant peasantry. As the peasants take what was stolen from them, they hail Dyten as a Hero, and he does his best to deny their praise.

Duma smiles on Dyten’s humility in the face of glory and it is decided. He will be the first of many champions to come, a blazing torch fit to strike an inferno and drive back the darkness. As the boy grows into a man, he will be of great strength, and greater virtue, his heart shall be hardened against temptation but all too keen to the plight of those in need. Under the Angel’s guidance he shan’t be a mere warrior, but a holy knight, he shall be a sacred paladin, the first to walk the world in a hundred generations!

Let Evil know fear, for the hour of judgement has come. She waits for the impromptu militia to return to its village, then speaks into his mind, bidding him to gather a band of men of great courage and Goodness. A dozen beg to follow the moment he asks, but their labor is needed for the hamlet’s sake and he only takes three. An elderly widower still spry enough to swing a hatchet, a sixteen year-old whose father died to the forgotten one’s bow, and an aged veteran, tired of drowning his sorrows in cheap drink and determined to make a difference. Each of them is worthy of blessing, but only one has earned the privilege.

At Duma’s command, the four leave into the thicket and march beneath the still-rising sun until they arrive at a foggy clearing. Some of the mist coalesces into the form of a cloaked woman, and the three flinch but they do not flee, for a deep sense of calm and peace fills their souls. The stranger says not a word as Dyten approaches with his head bowed, and as one, the peasants realize they are in the presence of an Angel. They fall to their knees in worship but the wave of a hand bids them to rise, and she lays her hands on the fledgling hero’s shoulders.

He shudders, gritting his teeth as an icy wind pierces his flesh, spreads across his skin, and halts in the palm of his shivering hands, but he does not cry out, nor does he curse at the pain, for he knows it is a blessing and the hurt stems only from the Evil within being undone. When nearly a full minute has passed, the biting cold is reduced to a soothing chill, then little by little the warmth returns. The Angel steps back, and almost reflexively, Dyten flexes and swings the wood-axe in one hand as if it weighed no more than a toy.

His skin is as iron, yet smooth and supple all the same, and his mere presence shouts the holiness of his soul. In his hands lies a healing power, such that he need only touch the maimed, the sick, and the crippled with righteous intent to see them restored to the fullest of health. To those of Good will, he seems a true warrior, dedicated to the destruction of Evil in each of its forms, and to those of Evil spirit, he seems the avatar of Heavenly Law, come to see their foul works undone. There can be no doubt in anyone’s mind that he is a champion of Good, and he has only begun his crusade.

The sight of his physique shifting into the visage of an Adonis is too much for the rest of the peasants, and they fall to their knees in fervent worship of the Angel. Dyten seems embarrassed by the extra attention, and she can detect a strong urge to acquire a concealatory cloak. As for the newest converts, their zeal to do Good cannot be questioned, but they are the beginnings of an Angelic Cult, and Duma can’t help but wonder if their worship isn’t misplaced.

>> What should you urge the peasantry to worship?

The Old Gods have failed the people and are undeserving of their worship. Though the Angel is not an incarnation of humility, she is nonetheless virtue made manifest and refuses to succumb to pride’s allure. Only the Force of Good Itself is worthy of reverence, with Duma acknowledged as Its avatar in this world, for such is the truth, and so long as she should draw breath, she will tell the truth and nothing but the truth. Dyten and the peasantry are in awe of her wisdom, and begin venerating the Holy Itself with the swiftest haste.

She has decided she is going to spread Good, village by village, hamlet by hamlet, and if need be, homestead by homestead, no matter how long it should take. The Cult is in unanimous agreement, though such is their loyalty, they would follow her commands to the bitter end regardless of their own feelings on the matter. Not two days pass before they arrive at the next village and if the words of the people are to be believed, there are nine more in this petty fiefdom alone. It is a humble affair, little over a dozen cabins scattered around a temple, and home to perhaps twenty people.

Unlike the last community, there is little Good to be found here, and within the temple, the stench of Evil is overwhelming. The Angel investigates the minds of those within, and the horn atop her head burns with holy fury. It is a sacred day, the anniversary of a saint of chasity’s birth, yet the married village priest fornicates with the daughter of his own brother no more than an hour after evangelizing the glories of abstinence, before the sight of the holy altar, and what’s more, already she is betrothed to another!

Righting this wrong is to be Dyten’s second task, revealing that violence is not always the answer. A paladin is to be peaceful, resorting to violence only in the face of true Evil, but should it prove necessary, they shan’t ever hesitate. The Angel explains these virtues to the faithful and entrusts them with ridding the Evil with no loss of life. Dyten is more than willing to take on the challenge and asks to do so alone, leaving his wood-axe and the rest of the faithful at Duma’s side, and approaches the temple, heedless of wary glances from those laboring in the distant fields. He throws open the doors and enters the holy place, catching the incestuous pair in the act, shouting that the gods have witnessed their defilement, and that only swift repentance will spare their souls an eternal damnation.

The priest panics, draws a dagger, and attempts to stab the paladin as his niece runs, screaming and skirtless through the village center. Dyten catches the knife, wrenches it from the priest’s hand, and flings it into the wooden floor. Immediately after, a dozen very confused and angry men wielding farm tools barge into the temple and demand answers. The paladin calmly explains that he caught the priest engaged in coitus with his own brother’s daughter, and indicates the nudity of both and the attempted stabbing as proof.

The blasphemer attempts to deny the accusation but the overwhelming evidence and the stranger’s holy aura have the opposite effect, and the mob is outraged. Despite his protests and inhuman strength, Dyten is shoved aside and the fornicator dragged into the village center and put to death by bludgeoning with the nearest heavy stones. The surprisingly fleet-footed niece flees into the woods, and when found, claims that she was raped, which the girl’s father and husband force themselves to believe.

>>3255381
When the peasants return to the settlement, the village elder thanks Dyten for uncovering the rot in the midst of their community, and politely asks him to leave and never return. The paladin feels he betrayed the priest’s trust with his lack of subtlety, and the Force of Good for not challenging the niece’s deception for the father’s sake. He falls before the Angel’s knees, pleading forgiveness, and begging to know how he can attain penance and resolve his guilt. None of the peasants are speaking out loud, though Duma knows they’re praying, two of them for an intervention of Dyten’s behalf, and one of them for a less complex Evil to destroy.

>> If you were inclined to vulgarity, you would say this entire situation was a clusterf**k, but as it is, you feel it could’ve been resolved much better. At least most of the Evil is gone, and you’re confident it won’t happen again.

The Angel understands that perfection is unattainable for mortal men, and that the best they can do is endeavor to be righteous in spite of their innate shortcomings. She explains to Dyten that failure is an integral part of learning experience, and that he should do everything he can to learn from it going forward. The paladin seems to take Duma’s lessons to heart, and she can detect his self-guilt is lessened, but not wholly mollified. Good, let it simmer in his soul, that he may strive to ever-greater heights of valorous vindications.

Inner strife resolved, she turns her attention to the community itself, and finds it... lacking. A measure of depression sets in as the Angel realizes that until the world is truly righteous, she cannot bless every shrine, and that, despite her capacity to spread her consciousness across over a dozen mortal minds if need be, she cannot be everywhere at once. Perhaps Good men are doomed to eventually succumb to temptation in her absence, but perhaps in spirit, she doesn’t need to be. Instructing the faithful to pitch a camp, she takes the form of a misty fog more silent than the grave, and with a creeping, yet comforting chill she enters the community in the dead of night.

Though the Evil is gone, distressingly little Good is present and it seems to fade an infinitesimal amount every minute of every day. It is unfortunate, and as she slides between the boards in each house giving those within pleasant dreams, and occasionally, lasting guilt, she begins to lose hope and then she senses it. A mote of Good, to her, a flickering candle before a bonfire, but nonetheless a beacon of holiness amidst the encroaching darkness. It is most certainly worthy, and as she examines its dreams, her hope is renewed.

They are simple, wholesome dreams of a family taken by the weeping sickness nearly a quarter of a century ago, and they belong to an aged man by the name of Bertylmew. No less than fifty-six summers have tanned his brow, and even before the passing of his loved ones, long has his honest heart yearned to make the wrongs he sees each day right. The man lacks all faith in the pantheon, believing them to be hollow idols, yet he refuses to drown his sorrows in drink or pursue heretical mysteries in search of purpose. Left to be, her instincts indicate he would die a tearful, starving death with no will to live in no less than a decade’s time, but he is not to be, for Duma is here and he is not alone.

Whispering sweet encouragements into his soul, she instills in him a piece of her soul, a spark of Goodness to make his voice any petty demagogue’s envy, and a deep desire to renew the righteousness in the souls of the people, and unite the scattered villages beneath one cause, a shared love of Good, what Good can do, and what Good has done. At that, she leaves and is utterly confident that soon, this man shall build a following amidst the frozen woods. Of course, her duty is not done and the faithful must continue their crusade.

>> Having assured that Good will spread slowly but surely throughout the villages, where do you want to go?
> Holger’s Keep, a decrepit but far from abandoned fortress some month’s travel away, to snuff out this bandit scourge at the source.
> The river-town of Hullbeck, which suffers beneath a cruel bank and a dozen teeming drunkard’s dens. Allegedly, the master knew another in the false faith lived there, but the specifics are lost to you.
> The trading post of Armskirk, home to a bustling whorehouse and a hundred fur trappers in a regular cycle. The occultist who gave the master the scrap of the forbidden book was last seen here, though he may have left since.

This Holger… If the rumors Duma’s gleaned from the minds of the faithful are any indication, he is a force for Evil in this world, and his keep is no doubt a wretched hive of scum and villainy. If there is to be lasting Good, he must be brought to repent and atone for his Evil or face judgement, and first, the Angel must witness his stronghold for herself. Again manifesting as a mist of water so crisp and pure as to make filthiest of men recoil, she begins her journey to the southern part of this province.

In the meantime, the faithful are told to disperse, and spread Good to all the peoples. Dyten and the once-veteran travel to the nearest hamlet, as Bertylmew and the remaining two travel to the next. Their parting is joyful, for they know when they return they will be accompanied by many more saved souls. Dyten is an earnest speaker with a righteous and forceful personality, blazing with the Good within his soul, but for all his talent at rabble-rousing he lacks finesse, and barely brings three new converts into the fold. Many times, he witnesses a coughing child or maimed cripple and desired to heal them, but he holds himself back, for he knows the exposure of the Good work too soon will undo all that Duma has done. Twice, he sees the crippled moaning in pain and despite his inner worry, uses his gift to restore their bodies, both times by force, under the cover of night, concealed so that his identity would remain unknown.

He feels the secrecy was necessary, but despite the miraculous effect it has had on their lives, he finds his own methods abhorrent. The matter gives him no small amount of anguish though his companions console him, and soon he seems to recover, though a gnawing guilt consumes him, and late at night, when no-one else is awake, the paladin whips himself until blood is drawn and heals the wounds. He rationalizes it as a penance for his past failings, but the Angel knows he does it to distract his mind from juvenile lusts and idle distractions as much as anything else. Certainly a concern Duma will have to resolve at some point in the near future.

A hamlet away, Bertylmew proselytizes with a much subtler touch, laying guilt on the wicked that they might repent, sowing the seeds of hope in the barren fields of the downtrodden people’s souls, and on several occasions, bringing the most righteous and repentant among them into the faith. Outside of the settlement, far in the woods in the depths of night, he unleashes his inner orator, captivating newly and oldly converted alike, and his howling prayers and spitting hymns have them enraptured with a fervent zeal. There can be no doubt, the old man is a fanatic, and has proven to be an enormous asset to the cause.

No less than three week’s travel away from the Cult, the Angel does seek. Both shrouded in misty fog and concealed in the guise of a lone traveler, she wanders, asking pointed questions in the villages she comes across, and in more than one opportune moment, swaying the stubborn tavern-goer or two by imposing her will. Eventually she finds the object of her search, though there was a great effort to conceal its location, and she is repulsed. Holger’s Keep lies a half-day’s march from an allegedly abandoned iron quarry, but it is filled to the brim, both with captive peasants and whip-wielding bandits.

Whole families have been kidnapped from their homes and dragged here, both to mine backbreaking quantities of ore, and when their usefulness has worn thin, be sold off to the cloaked men that come in a caged wagon twice each week. Affronted to the core of her being, she enters the mind of a sleeping slave-taker and finds the following: Holger is merely a subordinate to another, more mysterious Evil by the name of Lord Tharkas, and he has been tasked with providing as much raw iron and as many fresh bodies as he can to agents from the south. Little else is known, but the southerners pay in red gold and allow the bandits to keep some of the women, so no questions are asked.

Filled with holy rage and finding not the faintest potential for redemption in the sleeper’s mind, she purifies his soul with holy flame and leaves his empty husk to rot. The next day, Duma’s mist-form levitates to the keep itself and is distraught, for the slaves haven’t only been mining the quarry. Holger’s Keep was once a mere frontier outpost, but hundreds of hours of forced labor have seen it approach a capitol region fortress in both size and scale, there are two walls, the innermost of bricked mortar, the outermost of piled boulders reinforced with stacked dirt, and three moats lined with sharpened stakes surrounding the structure, one between the walls, and two outside, thirty paces apart.

The vegetation surrounding the keep has been picked clean, both to fuel the forge’s furnace, and provide a clear line of fire for the dozens of crossbowmen manning the fortification’s three immense towers. Near every inch of exposed masonry is engraved with unholy symbols, and the building itself radiates an aura of sickening Evil, so thick and rancid as to be Stathmore’s opposite. To her woe, the Angel can detect barely north of six-hundred souls within, most filled with unspeakable Evil, and some… torment.

She dares not come closer, for blasphemy of this magnitude is beyond even her strength, but she knows she will return in time, and it will be at the head of an avenging army. Uttering a prayer of mercy to the Good and whatever Old Gods are listening, she turns away and leaves, fully intent on-

It is evident to the Angel that her previous approach of slow and steady conversion is utterly untenable, and that so long as such malice persists in this world, she may not rest nor know the true satisfaction of a job well done. Instead, she must see the petty tyrant Holger thrust from his throne into the fiery pits of Hell which he so willingly embraced, or much preferably, the submission to the guilt he so hideously rejected, and the genuine effort to achieve the vindication his black soul so desperately craves. However merciful she may wish she could be, she is on a crusade, and oftentimes preferences are not meant to be considered.

Rather, she must prepare for the worst, for if she does not the worst shall surely come. She must still the animalistic noise in the congregations of Hwen, and bring the faithful to humbly bow their heads in acceptance of what is truly Good. Before embarking on her journey, she must encourage the Cult to move southward, evangelizing all the way to meet her there, and expending a fairly trivial portion of her power, she manages to send a simple transmission to the wise Bertylmew and blessed Detyn. Though their methods differ, their loyalty is absolute and they do not question the will of Duma in the slightest, but leave everything they once knew behind without a second thought.

The town of Hwen is a quaint little place, a collection of some four-hundred sturdy stone houses, and derives its namesake from a broken clock tower built in a golden age gone by. Barely four-hundred-sixty souls call the community home but she feels a profound sense of unease in them, and knows that only recently, there were three times that number before they fled or disappeared in the dead of night. Like most humans, the majority of them are neutral, leaning ever-so-slightly toward Evil, but a handful, perhaps twenty men and women all told, living in the wealthiest portion of what remains of the settlement, seem to ooze wrongness from every pore of their being and she holds no doubt they are in league with the blasphemers in Holger’s Keep. A cursory investigation reveals at least three hidden and unspeakable shrines, one of which lies in the basement of the temple itself!

>>You gaze upon this primal, unthinkable display of Evil, and-
>Cleanse the souls of the Evildoers where they stand, one by one, for the righteous shall not rest so long as the wicked draw breath.
>Leave them be, for discretion is the better part of valor, and you cannot afford to be discovered by Holger at this stage.

Once Duma has finished grappling what she feels is the right thing to do, she examines the remainder of the mortals and detects three among them that hold pure and genuine Good within the depths of their souls. These are at almost certain risk of kidnapping and subsequent torture, so spitting upon simple suspicion, Duma does not hesitate in visiting their dreams, willingly attaining their devotion, and sending them as fast as their legs can carry them to meet the rest of the faithful. Seeing no reason to continue in Hwen without an assurance that her flock’s needs are met, the Angel follows them in the comforting guise of a traveler, skillfully redirecting painful to answer questions about the disappearances to solemn reflections on the state of their own souls, and what they can do to be better people.

In no more than two week’s time, the scant barely even a handful of refugees accompanied by the Angel reach the some thirty strong village of Kilerth, and quickly find lodging in the home of an outspokenly crotchety and cantankerous, but secretly kind and caring old man at no charge to themselves. Not willing to subsist on charity for the time being despite the opportunity, the three get to work on various odd jobs within the village alongside Duma, who plays into her disguise as a traveler and encourages Good in any way she can.

It is no longer than another week’s wait when Detyn arrives at the head of half a dozen unfamiliar faces, clutching hopeful eyes and farmer’s tools. When asked as to the whereabouts of Bertylmew, the paladin explains he stayed overnight giving a sermon to a nearby hamlet, and should arrive soon enough. And arrive he does, at the forefront of no less than twenty-two frothing fanatics, any one of whom would gladly give their lives for his at a moment’s notice, nineteen of which were complete and total strangers, having never laid eyes on the man nor heard the slightest rumors of an Angel no less than a week earlier.

When Dyten explains that he only used his healing hands once, to heal a deformed infant its unfortunate parents left out in the wilderness, then return it to their doorstep, Duma is nothing short of astonished. The level of Good in the faithful is beginning to reach a fever pitch, and he, a haggard near-geriatric accomplished all of this with nothing but rhetoric. Even if his bones are frailer and his muscles slower than in his youth, his tongue is as nimble as any mortal swordsman's blade, and perhaps more than a match.

She scans the new converts and is slightly pleased, for in the midst of their ranks is a blacksmith’s apprentice of a semi-competent quality. Hardly the sort to be churning out masterworks any time soon, if he had access to a makeshift forge, or better, a genuine smithy, he could begin the smithing of various simple weapons and armors. That said, the Angelic Cult may be better served bringing the local smith into the fold. Somewhat concerningly, the throng of worshipers has gotten too large to blend in with most ordinary villages, and to avoid panic or rumors of brewing revolution, the overwhelming majority of visibly armed and irate farmfolk are forced to camp in secret. In another month’s time, feeding all of them may prove to be an issue, but most certainly nothing Duma can’t handle.

>>Your following has reached new weight of numbers and new heights of zeal. The conversion of whole settlements is within your grasp, and even if it isn’t half as efficient as simply mustering those who were Good to begin with, it’s certainly satisfying.

Duma desires nothing more than to cleanse the town of Hwen from the taint of those who’ve embraced Evil, mind, body, and soul but she understands the need for silence more than anyone, and so she stays silent. Evil is an impatient, hasty illness, so quick to spread its corruption to those of weak-will and mock the slowness of Good, but Evildoers fail to understand that once Good has taken ground, it does not flinch. So it has been for a thousand centuries, and so it shall be for a thousand more.

The Angel instructs the faithful to disperse to avoid drawing suspicion, a dozen of the most strong-willed, Bertylmew among them enter Hwen and take up residence in an abandoned household. The three of keenest eyes and fleetest-feet, Dyten included, begin scouting the wilderness for these bands of bandit kidnappers. The remainder scatter to spread the Good news in the nameless villages and hamlets surrounding the community, and their patron does her best to assist them.

For the next three weeks, little of note occurs save that Bertylmew manages to sway a humble but broad-shouldered smith and eleven others into the faith, and with Duma’s presence in the dreamscape, those outside of the community gather seven more righteous men with no lives left to leave behind. On the end of the seventh day of the third week however, the scouts hear cruel laughter and grieving screams, followed by the hysterical begging of a farmer’s daughter. Unable and unwilling to remain silent, Dyten lifted his wood-axe and burst into motion, thundering into a broad clearing lit bright by a burning cabin and flaming barn. The nature of the sounds became apparent almost immediately.

Nine leering thugs, whose faces were coated in grime, and equipment in rust stood over the mutilated corpse of an old man, as a father, his wife, and two sons sat gagged and bound hand and foot, nearby, helpless to intervene as three more dragged a weeping girl, scarcely seventeen years of age into a nearby field. These men were Holger’s bandits, freshly finished plundering a homestead, murdering an innocent man, with intent to force themselves on the deceased’s granddaughter. The paladin witnessed all of this, and in the instant it took him to comprehend the Evil before him, his inner turmoil was replaced with a berserk, holy fury, and he flung himself headlong into battle heedless of their numbers.

>>
>>3261889
A single swing of his wood-axe clove one braggart’s skull asunder, rent another’s spine apart, and buried itself into the heart of the fattest of them, as easily if their crudely fashioned iron helms and scale mail had never been forged. To their credit, the bandits, seasoned killers all were quick to retaliate, but Dyten fought like a man possessed, and indeed he was, by the urge to do Good. His every motion brought death to a would-be slave-taker, and as four bull-rushed him and his weapon was wrenched away by the first’s dying motions, the raging paladin’s bare hands snapped their necks one by one as they came.

Then he drew his axe from a fallen foe’s corpse, and flung it with impossible strength, cleanly decapitating a coward who dared to run. The pair who sprinted into the woods the moment conflict was joined might have escaped, but the two scouts were diligent, and each received a dagger betwixt the ribs for their trouble. Ten Evil men lay dead at Dyten’s feet in twice as many moments, but his sole concern was on the young girl and when he realized she wasn’t defiled, he turned his healing hands to the old man’s body, heaving with sorrow as the corpse’s damage was undone but the life refused to return to its eyes. The paladin sat on his knees, shouldering the guilt of his death and repeating the mantra, “I should’ve came sooner” well until the fires faded, and not one dared to drag him away from where he died.

Eventually, he stood, the captive peasant’s bindings were undone, and they swore to follow the Angel Dyten claimed to fight for. Soon, they returned to the town of Hwen and the paladin took an hour to rest, resuming his training in the Cult house’s basement. The young boy is driven, to say the least, and it’s safe to say he’s overcome a worthy challenge. In the week to follow, a thousand Good deeds are done across the region, and Goodwill begins to spread in the lesser villages, though it is too little to put a dent in the Evil throughout the land.

>>How do you want to bless Dyten for his efforts, and console him for his failure to save the family’s grandfather, if at all?
>>What are your instructions for the faithful as a whole, and what do you intend to do yourself? The bandits the paladin slayed were only one gang of many, and Hwen is far from the only town in the province.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgement you shall condemn.

Im half tempted to rush the fortress despite the hundreds of Evil filled souls that we would face. The rest of me says that we should treat every soul that could be saved as absolutely irreplaceable.

My question is would we lose more people by attacking without much preparation (granting that we have gathered enough people by then), or by allowing their operations to continue while we prepare (or partially disrupting those operations. either way their use of slaves is surely causing death and other Evil).

The paladin has slain more Evildoers than some men twice his age, and as a Champion of Good, it isn’t fitting that he should continue to do so with a woodsman’s logging axe, and clad in peasant’s rags. Not to be mistaken, humility is one of the greatest virtues, but oftentimes the shields and swords of blasphemous men do not care for the prayers of the pious. Gathering the closest fitting of the slain bandit’s helmet and scale mail, which feel dirty by merit of the man who once wore them but hasn’t received enough malice to sting, the Angel presents them to the blacksmith and assigns him the task of restoring them to an intact state. The mortal takes them into his hands, wincing at the traces of Evil present, and honestly swears to do his best. Briefly recalling the specifics of the boy’s idle fantasies of slaying the unrepentant wicked, she then tasks him with the forging of a proper weapon.

Most of the smith’s experience lies in the forging of horseshoes and ploughshares as it should, but his desire to see Good be done pushes doubt to the back of his mind, and Duma’s reassurance that she will guide his hand removes them in their entirety. She then leaves the smithy, though a piece of herself remains in the mortal, guiding his hands to produce a masterwork. Rather than continue into Hwen or even one of the nearby villages she disperses into a mist, and begins to scout the region in the dead of night. Over the course of two week’s time she finds no less than five more bandit’s patrols, and whether they were bound further north or to the south matters not, only the lack of mercy and guilt in their souls.

Twice, she took physical form, rending the marauders apart in a whirlwind of frigid blades, twice more, she spread her mist across a fog, freezing them and draining the air from their lungs, and once, she simply smote them where they stood with but a single sentence of the Angelic Tongue, whose holiness is such that those of Evil cannot bear to even lay eyes upon its script, and even those of merely mortal Good suffer as the purity flays the blackness from their souls. Her might has grown so tremendously that separately, these petty gangs don’t stand a chance against her, and even were they to march on her altogether, it would barely be a struggle on her part. Even so, one got lucky with a crossbow, laced with unnatural poisons so foul any but the strongest of mortal men would succumb.

> (1/3)
>>
>>3263047
The wound stings but seals in an instant, no more damaging than a needle through the chink of a knight’s armor, and dealing the blow cost the slave-taker his life the second after. Only one crossbowman is of no concern, but the Angel recalls the tower teeming with men and frowns, for such a volume of fire could prove quite the concern. Regardless of the damage dealt or lack thereof, the Angel frees no less than twenty-six peasants whose homes were ransacked, who she immediately escorted to the communities surrounding Hwen. Upon rearrival in the shattered community Duma is filled with disappointment, for the faithful have had little success in further spreading Good. Bertylmew’s efforts only brought a single bachelor, paranoid of the kidnappings into the faith, but to her surprise, Dyten managed to convince three members of the local militia who haven’t been bribed that something needs to be done.

It’s not much, but slight improvement is better than none and the refugees the Angel saved more than make up for the lack of converts. During the time Duma was gone, the paladin continued to train and his efforts have begun to yield dividends, his zeal is unchanged but he moves with more sureness, and his strikes are more precise. His disciplined dedication is an inspiration to each of the faithful, and she determines he is worthy to receive his second boon. Gathering the equipment the blacksmith forged with a word of heartfelt thanks, she bundles it into several linens she carries with impossible strength. Already, Duma has begun to have difficulties compressing so much Good into a human sized form and even her holy visage is scarcely sufficient. Such things are of no consequence however, as she calls Dyten from the makeshift training grounds he’s fashioned in the wilderness to the basement of Bertylmew’s home, near consecrated by the Cult’s righteous presence.

He falls to his knees, begging forgiveness for his reckless ways in battle but the Angel bids him to rise and presents the linens to him. The paladin reaches, curious, and takes them into his hands. Feeling solid iron and the faint aura of blessed Good even beneath the rags, he pauses, stricken with doubt. “Holy One, I am not worthy of such a gift.” She soothes his hesitation, and speaks with crisp clearness.

> “Paladin, thou alone are fit to bear such a gift. Take on thine blessed armor, wield thine holy blade to see the wretched works of Evil undone.”

“I-I can’t-”

> “Do this in mine name, if nothing else.”

> (2/3)
>>
>>3263047
>>3263053
“S-so be it, m’Lady.” The boy shakes his head, then steels himself, and removes the cloth in a single motion. His jaw drops at the sight of the battleaxe blade, and his enthusiasm overwhelms his humble guilt at receiving such a masterwork. Mere moments later, the former peasant is clad in blessed nasal helmet and a shirt of scale mail, hefting a shimmering battleaxe far beyond anything he once could’ve imagined. The armor has been blessed with a drop of the Angel’s own ichor, to ward away both mortal blade and metaphysical Evil, and the battleaxe has received a small water-skin’s worth to permanently endow it with doubled sharpness, durability, and a blessing, so that any foe within a half-inch of the blade shall find a part of themselves frozen, and soon to be shattered, and that only the strongest-willed of those wounded can bring themselves to much as speak.

He is nigh-infinitely grateful and feels unworthy regardless of the Angel’s insistence, but she knows that soon, it will pay for itself in judgement rendered. Nonetheless, it is quite a fine piece of work, even considering the mild possession of the maker’s hands, and Duma commends him to no end. The blacksmith intends to start forging spears and there is talk among the militiamen of training the faithful to fight.

>>This may soon prove necessary, as you’re certain your intervention in Holger’s atrocities has not gone unnoticed, though it’s doubtful he’s aware of the cause.

You have an enormous surplus of Goodness, and I heavily recommend investing some of it into some Servants or Blessings. Remember, your Blessings don't only physically change someone's body, they actively imbue their soul with Good, further lessening the grip and allure of temptation.

>>3262823
> My question is would we lose more people by attacking without much preparation (granting that we have gathered enough people by then), or by allowing their operations to continue while we prepare (or partially disrupting those operations. either way their use of slaves is surely causing death and other Evil).
That is up to you to determine, anon.

>>3262876
> Are we a force of absolute Good, or our own interpretation of what is Good?
You are a physical, tangible incarnation of objective, metaphysical Good, but there are many, equally valid interpretations of what is Good. See, the Healer and the Crusader, both further the cause of the same Good, but their methods and philosophies surrounding Good are completely different.

Let us bless the preacher with greater voice and a surer heart he has also done great work and should recive greater blessings.

Thanks for clearing that up, but I have two more question for now. You say we have a surplus of Goodness, but can we really have too much? (Is there a max for now) And if it can reach over 600, could we single handedly take the stronghold?

If the Bible verses get annoying tell me. I'd just rather this be a Knights Templar kind of Good than Tau "For the greater good" kind of Good.
>>
>>3263123
Agreed. How about we also use it to create minor angelic creatures? Let's say white daughs, that can fly as fast as the wind, heal the sick and are only visible to those with good in their hearts. They should fly in all directions of the wind, to help, assist and guide those of good heart towards our growing community.
>>
>>3263077
I think that we need to do something about the evildoers in Hwen first. Even if we ignore the fact that cleansing this world of Evil is the reason we're here, they might have noticed the Good spreading throughout Hwen and the surrounding area and maybe even heard rumors of an Angel. If we don't strike first they might attempt to disrupt our work.

Therefore I think Duma should purge them herself and have Dyten use his new armor and weapon to slay any remaining bandits around the area to keep the people safe.
>>
Can we give blanket blessings out to all our following?
>>
>>3263283
>You say we have a surplus of Goodness, but can we really have too much? (Is there a max for now)
You can never be too Good, but eventually the leakage begins to outpace the passive gain at a severe rate. This can be mitigated, but eventually, it will pose a severe obstacle to further improvement. There is no maximum, but the Angel can only be in so many places at once, and investment is always a wise decision.

> And if it can reach over 600, could we single handedly take the stronghold?
Unless you had a very clever strategy, a head-on, direct assault isn't likely to succeed. The fortress is heavily defended on-top of its aura of Evil, and when you breached the walls, you could be facing an obscene number of bandits. That said, it is not impossible, and you would certainly inflict a grievous toll.

>If the Bible verses get annoying tell me. I'd just rather this be a Knights Templar kind of Good than Tau "For the greater good" kind of Good.
If it gets you more invested into the quest, it's fine anon.

>>
>>3264160

>>3264168
A minor, across the board blessing is definitely doable, but it will be a significant hit to your Goodness. Genuine faith in Good functions as minor-to-moderate protection in and of itself, to the extent a Saint striking a lesser Demon would cause crippling damage, if not destroy it entirely. It's impossible for a fully mortal soul to be 100% Good unless it has been thoroughly blessed, or purified, but the opposite, a soul being 100% Evil is possible, though these are always redeemable with enough of an investment.

Sex is not intrinsically Evil, but Lust is, and there is an enormous amount of overlap many mortals have difficulty distinguishing. Generally, if it's mutually affectionate, heterosexual sex for the sole purpose of reproduction, it's kosher, and monogamy is a good rule of thumb but rare exceptions can and have been made for polygamy. See, Abraham.

Half-Angels vary quite wildly in regards to whether their human or Angel nature is dominant, but they are almost always morally Good, as their souls are partially an incarnation of Good.
