Because I'm not a FAGGOT, I'm not going to post a CYOA thread and then not post a build. This shit counts toward the anon limit, by the way, because I'm not a FAGGOT. So, let's see what we're working with here...

> Cult Origin:
> Personality
Because FUCK having to deal with centuries of baggage and being a part of another religion. This shit, this shit will be brand-spank-my-shiny-ass-new.

For countless centuries, mankind has suffered in savagery brought on the willing ignorance of the "normal" mind, but they are not "normal," their minds are empty and inferior, driven wholly by the pursuit of meaningless trivialities, blindly grasping at what each of your kin has seen with open eyes. There are only a handful of you, mere dozens, each one as brilliant as the greatest minds of the distant past, and utterly irreplaceable. Your bloodline is enlightened, the next step in human evolution and "normal" society is the only obstacle standing in its way.

For generations, your kind have tried to hide among them, concealing themselves amidst countless academic institutions and poorly lit basements, but you recognize that the blood is running thin, and your people must unite or forever perish from this earth. You recognize that the time to fear the "normal" is behind you, and that, as the most intelligent among the most intelligent people on this planet, you must take your rightful place as the undisputed ruler of mankind.

You have turned your gargantuan intellect to the utter mastery of human psychology, and such is your cold, calculating charisma, a single word from your lips is enough to cease the idiocy of even the most stubborn "normal," let alone five minutes and the pendulous sway of your golden heirloom watch. There are millions who will refuse to accept your dominion, but when the greatest minds of this age are at your command, the "normals" do not need to consent.

The precious, irreplaceable bloodline and several dozen others, knuckle-dragging, ignorant apes leaping at the spectacle of true brilliance, useful idiots, the lot of them, have moved into an opulent mansion inherited from the passing of perhaps the most useful idiot's father. Lorelei, a high-born aristocrat, offers potential connections, and perhaps in time, her womb may bare the next generation of worthy minds. Far more important though, is Diana, a kind and motherly girl, barely two years past her first period, and your second cousin. She has no more than the slightest grasp of social niceties, but her love for you is true, and what's more, she bares the gift.

> (1/2)
>>
>>3265569
Less essential are C.F. Bundy, the uncle of your third cousin, who barely possesses the pitiful mind of a genius. Nonetheless, he is deeply mired in sorcerous lore, and proved it wasn't entirely false to you by summoning and binding the eldritch doom-hound Argos to your soul, who is the goodest of boys, and already knows how to fetch.

> Your fledgling breeding cult possess a mere two boons that may be fit to ensure its survival. These are:

> Extensive isolation and fortification in the mansion, hardly equivalent to a medieval keep in the distant hinterlands, but close.
> A massively disproportionate amount of former military men among the rank and file, along with a stunningly large, sophisticated, and completely illegal arsenal.
> Barely fifty million United States Dollars, derived from a fortune in Bitcoin which you sold a mere two days before the crash.
> The accommodations of a sophisticated laboratory and workshop, near essential to apply your brilliant minds.
> An exhaustive library of arcane lore, which C.F. Bundy insists is about 80% false, and 20% legitimate sorcery, apparently an amazing ratio.
> No less than a small apartment's worth of genetically compatible men and women! Only a handful bare the gift, but they are an invaluable asset.

I tried to combine everyone's suggestions, let me know if I should change the internal monologue writing style. From a lore standpoint, the bloodline is a ludicrously rare, recessive gene and the next step in the autistic brain. If this is offensive to you, I do not give a fuck, because I'm a diagnosed sperg and if I want to unrealistically satirize this shit I will.

Beneath the mansion lies an immense, sprawling complex, and nearly every single inch of it is filled with laboratory equipment, either requested by your fellow enlightened or purchased on a distant plan premeditated by yourself. It is the envy of a third world nation, and in time, it will grow. In addition, you posses no less than fifty million USD in subtle assets scattered across the globe, to say nothing of Lorelei's thirty million in a Latvian bank owned by her cousin, and twice that in solid gold bullion buried in a vault she stubbornly refuses to reveal the password to, in spite of your intense requests.

That foolish roastie... Why can't she understand that vintage Magic: The Gathering cards, niche crypto-currencies, and Tesla stocks are a much more profitable and worthwhile investment? Never-mind that, your thoughts are elsewhere as you walk about the mansion's grounds with the company of Argos, who enjoys eating doggy bones whole. Hmm...

A cult of sensation, based on pleasure and
pain and ecstasy and agony, and the power that can be derived from it all. A cult of sensation, delving into the depths of the world by what we can see and feel, assisted by powerful, sacred hallucinogens and various rituals meant to evoke ever-greater responses from the mind.

Of course, using pleasure to break through the limits of the mind carries with it certain...addictive risks. And some people will do anything for their next high, if they aren't careful.

That's right, the Howland family numbers... Exactly forty-two. HA! It's fitting the only hope for human advancement is the answer to the meaning of life. You know it's juvenile, but you were only four when you read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for the first time, and the thought brings a rare smile to your face. Seconds later it fades and you find your lips in a tight grimace.

Merely forty-two, and only nineteen of them with the Gift. Overpopulation of the normals and the indolent waste of irreplaceable resources on their proliferation is the greatest threat to the furtherance of the species, but if the Howland family is to survive, every womb needs to be filled as often as its recipients are physically able. The thought of viewing women as factories for the manufacture of infants might seem objectionable to some, but those people are short-sighted.

You understand that it is their biological imperative, and each healthy Gifted birth is the single greatest achievement any among the Compatible could muster in a million lifetimes, and they should be honored to incubate the genes of the healthiest among the family. Carefully regulated and planned ahead of time of course, to ensure the ensuing geniuses are able to find a way to reverse the degenerative effects of incest before they accumulate in such a way it has a negative effect their health.

Besides worries of genetic degradation, you're feeling quite confident the Family's future prospects. $80 million is a significant starter fund, even it's in a fiat currency backed by the usurious, sniveling... These thoughts are not good for your psyche, so you will not think them. Instead, you'll sit on a grassy glade and relax, focusing on the rocky, twilight hills of the New England countryside. As Argos nuzzles his head into your lap and you stroke his pale, supple flesh to the rumbling, almost purring, affectionate growl emanating from it, you wonder what Lovecraft's ghost would have to say about all of this.

> (1/2)
>>
>>3266311
Hmm... If Bundy managed to summon the canine... perhaps he could summon a ghost? You don't know if the thought is disturbing or exhilarating, but you while away an hour or so idly fantasizing and calculating exponents before you feel obligated to return, and as you leisurely stroll to the opulent mansion ringed by a hefty village's worth of attendants, you've devised a stratagem for the next month.

> Several questions ought, no- must be answered.

> Every single Compatible woman getting pregnant post-haste is absolutely non-negotiable, but should the Gifted do the same? Every Gifted infant is worth a hundred million lesser lives, but you aren't sure how comfortable you are letting pregnant women in the laboratory, and every bit of brainpower will be essential to your research.
> The Howland Family possesses no less than $80 million in liquidated funds, and so far as you're concerned, money is worth less than nothing if it isn't spent on making more or furthering the owner's ends. As the... patriarch, you suppose, matters of spending are yours to determine, and what should you invest it in?
>> Low-risk Stocks, to earn a 90% chance of revenue of 1.2 million per million invested per month.

>> Cryptocurrency, to earn a ??? chance of revenue of ??? per million invested per month.
>> Acquiring the Occult Tomes Bundy is always going on about, at a 2% chance of a worthwhile discovery per 1 million invested per month.
>> Improving the mansion's infrastructure in some way, (Choose, Fortifications, Luxuries, Laboratory) for an investment of 5 million per Tier for Tiers 1-5, 10 million for Tiers 6-10, 30 million for Tiers 11-15, and 50 for Tiers 16-20.
> It goes without saying that the Gifted will begin researching the worthwhile pursuits the horrendously inefficient Federal government won't for the betterment of both themselves and the human race, but which fields should their efforts be focused on? (Choose a scientific field, the chance of a breakthrough is 1% higher per Laboratory Tier, 5% per Gifted working on that field, 5% per 10 million invested, and 10% if Edward is involved.)
> For this month, should you focus your efforts on laboratory research, or enlightening the ignorant masses as the boundless importance of the Gifted?

> The thought is ill-received, but perhaps not ill-conceived. Should you attempt to copulate with Lorelei for the sole purpose of procreation? For all of her idiocy, she's certainly Compatible, STD-free, and much more clever than the average, but sadly equivalent to Argos before your supreme intellect. Moreover, you're a proud voluntary celibate and virgin, and no matter how willing she might be, you aren't sure you want your first time to be with someone like... her.
> Lastly, and most importantly? How shall you handle Diana? You know for an objective fact that she loves you and wants to bare your children for the furtherance of the Gifted few, but she's so shy, and you *think* you love her, but you aren't completely sure, and you don't know if you're ready for a total commitment, or brutish enough to demand the sovereign right to reproduction regardless. Maybe you should attempt a traditional courtship ritual? Unlike quantum physics, you're not sure how this works, and the last thing you want to do is alienate what may be the second-keenest intellect and most kind, caring, and wonderful woman on the planet... Oh heavenly stars above! You do think there's a statistically significant chance you unconditionally love her, and this complicates things tremendously.

i say allow pregnant women in low risk things we dont want any harm to them or the children and no risk in calculating or planning or anything just have them avoid physical things
>> Mid-risk Stocks, to earn an 70% chance of revenue of 1.6 million per million invested per month
good chance for more money but not to slow we want to start gathering momentum and basic revenue
dont know about the occult books but would be good when we get the cash flow
and i dont know about upgrading now before we get some income
and for research what you think about going into things like agriculture or recycling or something like the digital we want something we can earn from
also focus on research or courting both of the girls with lore could be more like a concubine and diane as a wife
>>
>>3266875
we should possibly look into getting research grants
>>
>>3266315

>Pregnant women will be permitted to take part in research, but only in low risk situations in which there is little to no risk of harm to either they or their precious unborn children.
>Invest 10 million in mid-risk stocks. It's a bit of a large sum, but it'll give us a decent enough return should all go well, and hopefully get the ball rolling when it comes to income.
>We ought to be focused on the scientific field of biology, with 10 gifted working on it, along with Edward, which combines with our T10 lab to give a 70% chance of a breakthrough.
>For this month, focus our efforts on lab research. To enlighten the ignorant masses, we must first have proof to show them of our superiority, as shown by the great discoveries we have made.
>No, we shall avoid copulating with Lorelei. Even if it weren't for our superiority to her being so great that it may as well be considered bestiality, the fact remains that the blood of the Howlands must remain pure, unsullied by the filth of the normies.
>Diana is a tricky one. There can be little doubt that she's into us, and unlike Lorelei she at least has a few drops of the sacred blood in her from her distant relation to us, although not much. Nonetheless, a traditional courtship ritual must be avoided for now, if only to avoid the risk of alienating an excellent ally. In future times to come though... then we'll see.
>>
>>3266315
-They can still help in the research, but it would be prefarable if they do so most of the time outside the laboratory and in experiments of low risk , especially in their last months.

Sound fine.

Support this part.

>We ought to be focused on the scientific field of biology, with 10 gifted working on it, along with Edward, which combines with our T10 lab to give a 70% chance of a breakthrough.

Giving a new purpuose to this desperate but useful men, is something that they themself desire. Being left like a broken tool from the nation they have fight for is not an easy thing.
>Remain neutral with both ladys, for now. Still it would be preferable to not be too rigid with them, mantaining or improving the relationship we have already.

Marry Diana turn Lorelei into concubine.

I kinda like it more because, since it's set up around using Sensation to breach the limits of the mind, being Exiled is probably an even worse Death Sentence. The cult's the only way to get the next fix, so getting exiled is basically being forced into the worst withdrawal ever.

Gonna post another, feel free to use these as rival cults, QM.

The Holy Seekers
>Offshoot
Successor cult based on the idea of Crusades

>Spiritual
>Bloodthirsty
>Suicidal
The idea is that the shedding of blood in the name of the Lord is a Holy Sacrament, and every drop of blood spilled will be repaid in full in the next life. Bloodshed is a form of Holy Communion.

>Blood/Pain Oath
The first communion is done with significant pomp and fanfare, to commemorate another seeing the light.

>Death
The aim is to spill blood, there is no excommunication, just sacrifice.

>Monotheistic
>Blood
There is only the Blood, and the Lord we hold communion with.

>Rival Cults
>Law Enforcement
>Madness
>Treachery
It is easy to lose oneself in communion, and the blood that is shed need not be given freely. This means that anyone can be a sacrifice. Typically the uninitiated, but cult members who commit offenses can also be sent to the Lord.

>Arthur
>Lycus
>Usoa
>Ralph

>Apocalypse
Bathe all the world in Blood, as a sacrifice to the Lord!

On the other hand, it looks like the research has yielded serious dividends.

> Choose One:

> Genetics

>>3267479
Keep in mind, Genetics is an extremely difficult field, and it will take several years at minimum to find a way to replicate the extremely elusive and impossibly complicated Gift, as it relates to the human brain itself. Genetic splicing/hybridization, basic enhancements, and diseases are relatively simpler.

you should let the vote that was take by the roll, do the research no ?

Since we decide with rolls instead of support.

Not directly useful for ourselves, but if we sell this to the government then there's likely a considerable chunk of money to be made, plus it brings respect to the family.

It seems to you that the money is best invested into stocks of a middling risk, and so you do so, dumping 10 million into a particularly profitable real estate firm. Unfortunately, a scandal regarding the company's CEO and *correct* accusations of cocaine abuse cause a grievous tank in the stock value that may take years to fully recover, if at all. You grit your teeth, cut your losses, and sell the stocks at a pittance for a mere 2 million.

Much more successful is your family's research. Seven of the Gifted were convinced the entirety of the kin's studies should be into the field of neuroscience and the replication of the Gift, and while you hold a great deal of sympathy, the rest of you feel more immediate gain is ideal. It's not a field you have any particular passion in, but you direct the bloodline to the study of Agriculture, more specifically, fertilizer. Given the twenty super-geniuses working night and day, it shouldn't be any surprise that they were quick to generate results.

A new form of fertilizer, difficult to synthesize and somewhat finicky to apply, but one-hundred percent environmentally friendly and approximately one-point-two times as potent as the next best substance on the market. Pursuing a patent into the genuine miracle grow might be lucrative, but it would require the permanent waste of a Gifted's talents into the marketing field, and any lesser mind would risk revealing the secret to its manufacture for negligible gain.

In your peerless brilliance, you decide to offer the patent to the Federal government under the guise of the only partially fictitious Howland Research Firm, based in the Northeast. Luckily for you, the filthy bureaucrats saw the work of genius for what it was, and offered 120 million in USD upfront, no questions asked. You immediately conceded, and upon exiting the USDA headquarters, leaped for joy. 120 million for a mere month's studies, and the fertilizer was merely the earliest of the functional prototypes! In no more than four weeks, your family is on the cusp of revolutionizing human food production! Who knows what another month, or let alone two could accomplish? Wonderful, simply wonderful.

Meanwhile, the manual insemination of female Gifted and Compatible goes off without a hitch beneath your diligent surveillance, and a series of tests over the course of two weeks confirms that they are indeed pregnant, one of the Compatible with a pair of twins. Only a handful of their offspring will bare the Gift, but each will be Compatible, and distinguishing the two will be trivial a mere month after their birth. You remember those days, the constant headaches and infuriatingly juvenile baby-talk, the only solace your developing mind had was the embrace of your mother's bosom, and she passed only two years after.

> (1/2)
>>
>>3267741
You remember her fondly, she was one of the first to bare the Gift, and you'll do this in her name alone if nothing else. Only two of those Compatible weren't fertilized, Lorelei, and Diana. The former because you aren't wholly certain whether or not she's fit to bare a Gifted child, even if she *certainly* has the hips for it, and keeps giving you those infuriatingly coy glances when she isn't flagrantly wasting vast sums of money on frivolous things, and the latter, ostensibly because you're both too busy with work, but in reality, because you're too shy to make a move and as superstitious as it is, you don't want any offspring between you to be born out of wedlock.

She may be in the throes of youth now, but you're all too aware it's only a matter of time before she hits menopause, and the loss of those genetics will be a ruinous blow to the species. You need to set your selfish cowardice aside and decide what to do, sooner rather than later, but that can wait. At the moment, you need to determine how best to invest the Howland family's assets in the coming month.

> What is your plan for the coming month?

>> The Howland Family and its Attendants:
>> Significant Members:
> Edward, possibly the most intelligent man on the earth, if not the most intelligent man to ever live.
> Lorelei, a crass trollop who happened to stumble into a vast sum of familial wealth. Compatible, not pregnant.
> C.F. Bundy, the uncle of a third cousin with a penchant for the mysteries of the occult. Compatible, assisted in insemination.
> Diana, the second cousin of Edward and a remarkably attractive, modest woman. Gifted, not pregnant.
> Argos, the eldritch hound, faster than most motorcycles, immune to low caliber firearms, and able to bite through steel as if it were paper. Absolutely loyal to Edward, and plays fetch.
>> Rank and File:
> 19 Gifted, (11, 1 month pregnant)
> 23 Compatible, (16, 1 month pregnant)
> 129 Useful Idiots

>> Current Headquarters:
> Opulent Mansion, New England, USA

Are we still posting rival cults? I had an idea.

>The Calderone Mob

>Personality

>Fraternal
>Profitable
>Bloodthirsty
Trying really hard to make it structured like a mob family even though this CYOA is more geared towards cloak-and-dagger Lovecraft type cults

>Mansion
Gotta have some nice digs to entertain dignitaries and perform our blood rituals

>Referral/Blood Oath
Kill someone for the family and then burn a card depicting the Virgin Mary with some of your own blood on it while saying an oath to never betray the family. Just like the real mob.

>Death
Again, just like the real mob. Even more secrets to keep under wraps, too.

>Henotheistic
The family is very pragmatic with its devotion, mostly focusing on applicable magic.

>Skull of Roses Higher Order
>Blood Promise Lower Order
>Mariana's Blade Lower Order
>Reaver's Mask Lower Order
>Aesthetic Zenith Lower Order
Mystical things are mostly geared towards furthering the family's criminal activities, with the numerous hits performed by the family endearing itself most closely to the God of Blood.

>Rival Cults
>Investigators
>Law Enforcement
>Treachery

>Vukasin
>Bahram
>Lilith
>Finnegan
Some of these members have already been claimed, but many of these fit the theme. A sadistic rich kid interrogator, devoted triggerman, semi-divine hooker and loyal consigliere are valid members of a mob family, no?

>Control
Having irresistable influence over a major metropolitan area is the dream of every crime family. Why not have an extra edge?
