>What's this?
A shitty fan-fiction quest where you play as Hermann Schmidt in the Worm universe. I won't babble much, but your power basically allows you to make anything you want, but with the condition that it's super shitty in the beginning and you have to improve it.

Without further ado, OPEN THE GAME!

Day 3, Week 2

April 25th, 2011

Beginning the morning chores, you start the small job of tidying the damn house. Ignoring your cape activities, you haven't really bothered cleaning the place at all.

Finally finishing the dishes, you make yourself a small breakfast of bacon & eggs before sitting in front of your cheap TV. Searching through the channels, you finally pick the morning news.

"-In other news, conflict inside and around the docks has apparently hit a record high. Numerous villains and groups have been recorded fighting in that general area, and apparently, it's getting uglier. The Protectorate has begun running patrols through the general area, although if you ask me it's too little, too late. Furthermore-"

After consuming your meal, you turn off the TV before you begin planning.

Getting dressed, you decide that buying a firearm wouldn't hurt. Plus, you haven't really tested out your power on already made weaponry.

Leaving the house, you try to search for a Firearm's store. You're sure you've seen one here somewhere...

>18, pretty gud

It doesn't take long before you find the store in question. Despite being in the slums, it looks rather well kept. The windows are surprisingly in one piece, and you find zero graffiti.

Walking inside, you're met with an array of all kinds of weaponry stored behind the... cashier?

The cashier in question is a senile looking black man, his gray hair and thin figure immediately stands out. Slowly walking towards the man in question...

"What up, my white nigga? What do you want'? Rifles? Pistols? Shotguns? I've got them all, all for a decent price too."

"Uh.. don't you need a license for guns?"

The man begins laughing at your face

"Nigga, when people got fuckin' superpowers, that whole license nonsense got cut. Who the fuck cares about guns when you've got wild niggas that can fly an' shit. Now, are you gonna buy something or what?"

Taking out your newly acquired firearm, you're left a little unimpressed. Currently, it just doesn't have that 'bang' you'd like in a gun. Taking out your multi-tool, you decide to experiment...

>18, <Good!>

After a good hour or so of delving into a field you hold little to no knowledge of, you're left rather gobsmacked.

Examining it, you've seem to have removed the 'pump' in the pump-action. Instead, your weapon looks more like a rifle than anything.

Loading in some of your ammunition, you fire into a pile of cars, nearly losing your grip on the damn thing.

The first thing you notice is how fast it fires. The countless rounds spring forth out of your weapon in a speedy glory. It doesn't take more than 3 seconds before you've emptied an entire mag.

>10 rounds lost, 50 remaining
>5 Medium-grade material lost
>Upgraded Mossberg 500 (Tier 2, high)

Letting out a devious laugh, you begin muttering some random nonsense before...

>>
>>3267591
So what if we make a modular power source in our theoretical future power armor? Something relatively small but easily replaceable should we 'burn' through the 'fuel source' too quickly?

>Welder Melee Weapon/powersource.
A welder weapon as an emergency power source? Not a bad idea.
>>
>>3267591
>>3267658
It would need to be a atomic reaction, that is contained by some forcefields.

So, basically it is a contained nuclear reaction sword/powergenerator, but if it gets damaged... BOOM!

Kek, this makes for a nice dead-mans switch as a pseudo protection from tinkers that are in said explosion range.
>>
>>3268393
The next project would be make nuclear power sword more resilient, so it wont get broken by some shit, or only leak radiation on the first damage level and boom on the second.
>>
>>3268399
I question the actually usefulness of a nuclear powered sword, as opposed to a suit of power armor power by the power of fusion or fission. A mini nuke might be more practical in regards to nukes or building a nuclear generator for our base.
>>
>>3268404

The whole post details a plan for building JUST the power source, and some other fun ideas:
>>3256954 I hope manually entering post numbers works
>We need to make a blueprint of the welder, then build just the part that is the "infinite power supply" for the welder, and then we can put that into anything that requires a power source. We should also build a force field, and a shoulder mounted auto turret for the exosuit.

Why use armor when you can use an energy shield with infinite power?
>>
>>3268599
You need to put a limiter on the power, otherwise, it overloads the circuit, breaking the shield. You have unlimited charge and recharge, but the shield can be broken or overloaded by something big enough.

Storing your weapon away, you consider trying to recreate whatever the hell that powers your welder. You honestly don't have any kind of inkling on how it works, it could be nuclear powered for all you know. Shrugging, you examine your welder in-depth, surely you can do it again, right?

>16, (partial success)

After a couple of hours of experimenting, you finally manage to more or less complete your aim. In your hands, you hold some kind of... battery? It radiates a blue glow which does send alarm bells to your head, but from what you can tell it's not letting out radiation... hopefully.

>10 High-Level Material lost
> ??? Battery Gained (Tier ? ??)

Carefully storing your new Battery away, you decide to move forward on that whole 'power armor' idea you had for a suit. Grabbing your Welder and Multitool, you drag your Exo-Suit to a suitable location before starting.

>Rolled 1, Critical Failure

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Stzofz4yMSY&list=PLAC7C6367B6B22EC4&index=45

You hear a massive BANG from nearby. Launching yourself towards the sound, you see countless Asians, assumedly ABB members storming into YOUR workplace from a massive hole that used to be a wall.

Behind them was a man donned in a black bodysuit, accompanied by a fanged mask.

It doesn't take long before your security system kicks in, but before one of your turrets can do proper damage, the masked man creates some kind of clone and blows himself up along and the turret into smithereens.

Letting out a frustrated growl, you scramble back towards where you store your gear, you begin planning some kind of defense

In the green corner, we have (you)!
Eitri
A dozen or so turrets

Versus!

In the red corner, we have the ABB!
30 ABB goons
Unknown Parahuman

We need to hurry, but luckily the turrets should buy us some time. Slap on the exoskeleton/nearly powerarmor, to increase strength, speed and catch some bullets for us. Then grab the shotgun and the plasma gun and run. We'll kite their asses through every single turret in this dump. Let's open up by throwing a car into the maximum amount of them standing together, with the exoskeleton. Then give some lasfire and retreat into the next turrets protection, try to catch them with a car or something equally heavy again, once the turret gets destroyed, retreat. Repeat. Lasgun for long range, should someone close in, shotgun shell storm. Move heavy rubble to cover retreats and create cover.

Finally arriving at your storage grounds, you frantically put on your half-finished power armor. Luckily for you, it seems like your turrets have managed to buy yourself some critical preparation time.

Donning your lab-coat and mask, you grab both of your ranged weapons, The Lazer Rifle, and your newly acquired and upgraded Shotgun, and holster them.

Storming out, you grab one of the nearby cars and rush towards the sounds of explosions. You immediately notice a group of about 10 goons nearby.

>22
>10

Intensifying your grip, you throw the car towards the unsuspecting fools. Before they can even register it, they're smacked with 4000 pounds of metal.

After the brutal show, the rest of the goons attempt to flee. Before they can even leave through the hole, however, they... explode?

Ignoring that, that teleporter/cloner attempts a surprise attack from behind.

>22
>8

Unfortunately for him, however, he didn't realize you could just launch yourself into the air. Taking out your laser rifle, you somehow manage to fire upon him mid-air in a spectacular fashion. He(?) then hits the floor like a brick.

Landing, you let out a cackle deserving for your complete victory. Before you can finish it, however, you hear the sound of police sirens nearby.

But prepare to flee once again. Or fight.
Actually.

Make some cuts on our clothes. Being too lucky and without a damage for a civilian is suspicious.

Grabbing one of his grenades, you pull the pin before dropping it on top of his unconscious body. Moving away, you watch the man disappear in a cloud of explosions

You feel something inside yourself scream. This is fine... right? He's a part of the ABB, you're sure he's killed countless people... right?

>19

Focusing yourself, you quickly turn off all the turrets before they can do more harm. Hastily, you throw off all your gear into your storage place before altering your appearance. In general, you make your hair more untidy, clothes dirtier.

Finally, you move towards the gate. The sirens are now in full force, and you think you can see a helicopter above.

You're eventually met with a somewhat familiar cape, sporting a white/gold outfit that's vaguely greek. You pretend to fall onto the ground, and he immediately calls for help.

You're carried onto a stretcher before a doctor examines you. Obviously, you don't have any wounds on you, so he concludes that you just passed out due to stress. Putting an end to the charade, you pretend to regain consciousness.

"Welcome back to the real world, fella."

After a few minutes of answering the doctor's questions, he finally lets you go. It doesn't take long before the cape that 'rescued' you to approach.

"Good, I'm happy to see you walking again so soon. Look, I can guess you aren't from a gang. You're the manager, right?"

Answering with a dazed 'yes', he leads you inside a PRT van.

"Listen, I've just briefly checked the scene, and it's not pleasant. I know this may seem insensitive, but I'm going to need your testimony on what exactly happened there. Take your time..."

>Write in some testimony,
>>
>>3270570
Tell him we heard explosions and shots going off and just hid in our cuck shed. When things got quite again we came out and saw corpses, god all those corpses...and through that new hole in the fence we saw some people running away, one guy was wearing a lab coat, yeah we are sure of that since we thought it was weird.
>>
>>3270570
I was hired to guard the place because the owner went on vacation, alright? On my first day I found a manhole that looked way too new, I got it open and there was a high security door and a totally pristine room behind it. I got a bad feeling and got out of there fast, I think it was a villain bolthole you know? Spare tinker shop? What the fuck ever.

Anyway, the next day the manhole was welded shut. I think whoever had that place built is the same guy stealing shit from the scrapyard and they've had two fucking fights in here already, I don't want to die because my workplace is in the middle of a gang war!

I was doing a round when I heard explosions and I got the hell out of dodge and when it quieted down I decided to get out of this place but there's bodies everywhere man, jesus

> I was nearby the shed checking the fence. When I heard explosions and loud crashing. It has been the second time in weeks that some kind of cape fight has spilled into here, so I just ran back into the shed and hit the deck. The fighting seemed to die down pretty quick and when I came out, I saw some weird villain cape just blow himself up and there were corpses everywhere. Oh God, do I have any blood on me? Am I alright? I'm not payed enough to deal with this kind of shit all the time. Some guy in a lab coat was going after those gang guys. Is he one of yours?

We should only mention the hatch if they start poking around where we stored our gear and play more dumb with it. We saw it and found it odd but assumed it was an old bomb shelter or something. We don't want them looking over this junkyard with a fine tooth comb.

"It's okay, please... calm down. I understand it was... troubling."

"T-thanks. Anyway... I see a lot of the bodies, then... there's this weird villain cape who just... just... blows himself up. I only managed to get a good look a few seconds before... but it looked accidental."

Dauntless begins hastily writing notes as you're speaking

"Then... this guy wearing a lab-coat and mask saw me and ran. Is he one of yours...? It looked like he was going after those gang members..."

"No, I think I can say with certainty that whoever that person was, they aren't connected to us. Thank you, really. Do you need someone to drive you home?"

"Uhm, no. I live nearby..."

"Alrighty then. Now... I'm afraid to tell you that we have too close down your workplace temporarily... due to obvious reasons. It shouldn't be long, mind you. No more than three days."

Nodding, he leads you outside and advises that you go home. Agreeing, you walk back home at a slow pace. It doesn't take long before you reach your familiar house. Entering, you head towards your bed before immediately going to sleep.

The Forgotten Siege Of Brockton Bay

by xxx, xx

Since the formation of the Protectorate on January 18th, 1993, many people have forgotten the rather chaotic period between 1982 to 1993. In those eleven years, I think it can be said that the whole earth was set ablaze.

Countless massacres occurred during that period due to a truckload of factors. Those who triggered were often met with prejudice and fear, the most infamous example would probably be the Andrew Hawke case, but let's not delve into the exact details here.

The Slaughterhouse 9 were formed during those early years, by Jack Slash's predecessor, King.

While King's leadership didn't last long, he himself was arguably as cruel and wicked. He led the infamous Harbinger, Gray-boy, and many others. Similarly to his protege, he moved to one place to another, leaving a trail of destruction and death behind.

One of his 'visits' occurred during September 11, 1986. His target was Brockton Bay, and his visit was later labeled as 'The Siege Of Brockton Bay' by its survivors.

During one whole week, he managed to cause an estimate of 20-000 deaths. Accompanied by about 160$ million dollars in damages. xx, xxx. xxxxx, xxxx, Franz Schmidt and Emily Schmidt were notable victims of this tragedy. The latter two were pioneers on the parahuman phenomenon at the time. They co-authored several essays on the subject and many of them would be proven true long after their release.

Yes, you can. With the obvious restriction of it being shit at first, you can even attempt bare bones surgery. Keyword there is attempt
>>
>>3273311
So stuff we build ourselves is awful until we upgrade it, how does that apply to items we upgrade from a base (The shotgun for example)
>>
>>3273293
Hm, your upgrade potential is basically cut off at the very beginning you start upgrading it. Meaning you couldn't have made it fire lazer rounds or whatever Sc-fi bullshit you can think of.

Anyway, I'm sorry for the delay but I've decided to do a short PHO segment, please wait warmly

Day 4, Week 2

April 26th, 2011

19 days until ???

You awake in a cold sweat, and your eyes meet the old ceiling. Slowly getting out of bed, you take an immediately hot shower. Luckily, it seems to shake off that weird feeling you felt when you awoke.

Getting dressed, you do some of the mundane morning chores. Changing the sheets, washing, drying and ironing your clothes. After all that happened yesterday, the monotony of it helps soothe you down. Making breakfast, you opt for some simple cereal before doing something you haven't done in a while, mess around on the internet.

Turning on your potato PC, you eventually manage to load up PO

Topic: Fighting between the remaining ABB and other gangs?

I haven't really seen many threads talking about this, at all, so I thought I should create one

I live nearby the docks, around the East Slums. Yeah, Yeah, I'm poor and shit whatever. But lately, I've seen a LOAD of fighting recently on the walk back from home. Starting from Lung's most recent containment, it seems like the gangs have really dialed up the conflict.

Checking the cupboards, you notice your supplies have been dwindling down. There's barely anything left, ignoring that canned stuff nobody really likes.

Leaving the house, you start walking towards boardwalk. Luckily for you, it's a fairly nice day, weather-wise. The sun beams down upon you with its gentle light, leading you towards your desired location.

Boardwalk is fairly busy today, but that's boardwalk for you. Hordes of people leave one shop to another. You begin just... wandering around, letting chance guide you

> 7

Entering a shop that's probably a bit too high class for your tastes, you buy the basic essentials. Bread, milk, bottled water, and several other items. When you approach the till, you get some weird looks from the people around you, but whatever. Taking out your bank card, you opt to pay electronically

>$160 lost from your bank account, 240 remaining

Leaving, you spend a few hours looking for anything that could... satisfy your tinker instincts. Sadly, however, it doesn't seem like lady luck is on your side. The only things you find are restaurants and fashion shops. You return home slightly dejected

Storing your newly aquired food away, you decide to experiment with that whole blueprint thing you can do. Grabbing some paper and a pencil, you focus on one of your creations, the welder.

>Blueprint of a Futuristic Welder Gained! Requires 60 Low-level, 40 Mid Level and 10 high-level materials to recreate.

Moving on, you focus on that weird battery you made. Perhaps you could gain a higher understanding of it via a blueprint? Can't hurt to try, right? You begin sketching out the details...

> Blueprint of ??? Battery (Tier 3, mid) gained, requires 20 low, 25 mid and 10 high-level material to recreate

While you still have no idea of how it works exactly, you do have a vague understanding of its potential. You feel like this could power something for a long ass time.

>Lazer Rifle Blueprint gained! 20 Low Level and 50 mid-level material is required to recreate

Placing your newly written blueprints away neatly, you begin making preparations for dinner. Placing some frozen chicken wings inside an oven, you suddenly get an idea. You could have sworn there was an 'advice' board on PHO...

Topic: Pointers/Counsel For A New Cape On The Scene?
In: Advice ► Capes ► Rogues/Villains/Vigilantes

The_Count_Of_Monte_Cristo
Posted on April 26th, 2011

So... uh, I'm sure you guys get a lot of false flags all the time, but I'd still like for a veteran cape's insight at all possible. Without getting into the specifics, I'd like to hear some proper counsel from people who do know what they're actually talking about, instead of some cape fanatic who thinks they know everything.

I can't join the PRT for reasons I don't want to disclose, and I've just recently become aware of my powers. What are the major DOs and DON'Ts?

Hey, don't diss the worth of cape geeks. In all seriousness, the unwritten rules are pretty damn important, so I suggest you check up with them. Here's a link to a wiki article for them www.parahumans.com/wiki/cape culture/unwritten-rules/

Assault (Confirmed Cape)

Screw it, I know I'm probably going to get chewed out for posting this, but whatever.

I'm not going to beg for you to have a change heart regarding the PRT, because it seems like you've got a proper reason for not going that route. However, you don't HAVE to join the Protectorate. You could easily just register as Rogue, which may get you possible protection if you need it. Depends on the circumstances tho

As @Proto said, the unwritten rules are pretty high up there in the scale of importance. They're also a good way to make sure you aren't going off the deep end, morally and legally speaking.

As an Ex-Villain/Vigilante myself, there's a ton of things to look out for. First off, going in completely alone is almost always a terrible idea, even if you have a power that rivals Legend/Eidolon/Alexandria.

Secondly, watch out for Ideologically driven cape groups, from what I remember they were always bad news. Oh yeah, be extra careful with Masters/Strangers, especially the kind that can mess with your head.
If you want more exact advice about powers or something specific that's more delicate, private message me. I'm always happy to help

Edit: I've just remembered, Corporate capes are always an alternative. I'd still recommend caution however, I've heard mixed things from my colleagues.

Looking yourself in the mirror, you come to the realization that you've skipped out of your usual workout routine after that... embarrassing incident last week. Searching through the house, you notice that all the cheap gym equipment you've bought previously has been rather lacking.

Of course, a normal person would just spend money on better equipment, but you're no normal man! You're a goddamn tinker! Even without your tools, surely you can create something worthy for a man like yourself!?

>19

Scrounging the remaining scrap you left here, you begin modifying the items rather passionately. After a few hours of tinkering, you try out of your new dumbells. The moment you pick it up, you feel it's weight change dramatically. Testing it out, you notice that it's weight suits you almost perfectly, huh...

Trying out the treadmill, the moment you start moving on it the pace of the machine immediately alters itself. After a few minutes of running, you start feeling like you're actually pushing yourself...

So there's been some debate on our ideology this thread, and I'd like to propose this: Instead of hating anyone who isn't white, let's hate those who hinder humanities advancement. Anti-Vaxxers, Flat-Earthers and other recent retard factions, ultra-conservatives who do anything to protect the status quo, layabouts who leech off the system instead of being productive members of society, greedy pigs who hoard more money than they could ever spend and use it for their petty quarrels.
Basically keep the framework of "destroy untermenschen" but drop the stuff that's somewhat outdated and was mainly fearmongering in the first place and put a meritocratic spin on it.
I think it fits pretty well with how people have been playing and planning, especially since Hermann doesn't actually seem all that racist.

Wiping the sweat accumulating off your forehead, you chastise yourself. This is nothing compared to what you did in the past, this isn't even a stressful training regime! Turning towards your newly improved equipment, you let out a devious grin. It's time to push these things to their limit!

>20 <Very Good!>

You're practically sprinting on the treadmill as it hits speeds that the machine clearly wasn't designed for. Regardless, you continue pushing forward, as you finally feel alive. After 20 minutes of pushing your legs to their utmost limit, the machine finally begins to slow down before stopping entirely.

Focusing on your arms, you grab those damn dumbells with renewed vigor. You spend a good half-an-hour straining the muscles around your arm, to the point where your hands nearly feel like sticks.

Finishing it off, you decide to do a good 30 pushups. Exhausted, you storm into the shower to wash off the godly amount of sweat that lies upon your body.

Leaving the shower washed and refreshed, you ponder on you should finish the day

For those who have been living under a rock for the past week, fights between the ABB and other gangs have started happening at a much higher frequency. You might think of this as coincidence, but let me tell you right, it ain't.

After Lung's second containment, my sources have told me that Kaiser, and several other cape groups agreed on a temporary alliance of sorts, against the ABB. This likely due to them breaking the unspecified rules capes live under, and other factors. Bakuda certainly didn't help in this, with her using the tinker bombs she made rather... brutally.

For those curious about who exactly is in the alliance, it was more or less
*E88
*The Undersiders
*The Travelers
*Faultlines's Crew/Palanquin mercenaries

Funnily enough, apparently Kaiser BTFO'd Skidmark when he tried to join in.

EDIT: On a more serious note, the PRT has just confirmed Oni-Lee's death. Although a witness testified that he died accidentally, the PRT suspects foul play

What, so who's left? Lung's probably in the birdcage, and if Oni-Lee's dead, then that just leaves Bakuda, right?

Point_Me_@_The_Sky

@Nona Yeah. Hopefully, this whole mess ends soon. While I hate the Empire as much as the next person, one less gang is always a good thing. Especially considering all the stuff Bakuda has done recently...

Sure
*Died around late-afternoon, yesterday
*Died alongside 30ish fellow gang members
*Was allegedly fighting an unknown cape, assumed vigilante

Day 6, Week 2

April 28th, 2011

17 days until ???

Awakening from your slumber, you start off the day with some light exercise. Luckily, your tinker workout gear somehow knows your groggily state and adjusts thusly.

Peering out the nearby window, you notice that the past few day's wonderful weather has been replaced with stormy clouds, frowning, you begin the preparations for breakfast. Inspecting the cupboards and fridge, you settle for simple and yet tasty sausage sandwiches.

Getting dressed, your mind begins to wander...

There's nothing unreasonable about not using what's obviously someone else's lair or bolthole. Plus you all metagamed that it was Coil too.

Should have directed them towards it and kept their attention down there that we could sneak in and take out our gear.
>>
>>3276955

>>
>>3276966
It was brand spanking new, it had lights and was completely empty. Didn't it have a door at the far end too? In a world with parahumans you really should go with your gut feeling.

Metagaming is rampant in all 3 worm quests, which I find incredibly annoying but it's up to the QM to put their foot down.

Leaving the house, you head towards the scrapyard in a rather cheerful mood. You honestly can't wait to create a new gadget, or perhaps you should resume your work with that unfinished Power Armor? Grinning like a child, you start picking up the pace.

Coilin worked tirelessly on this. He had to be diligent, clever and most importantly efficient. There were multiple stages of the plan, and all of them needed to go off flawlessly.

You finally see the recognizable shack and gate. Walking up to the latter, you dash inside

Stage 1: The target needs to enter his 'base of operations'. Likelihood of being a tinker is 95%, therefore he should have stored his gear here

>9

Wandering around, you're happy to see that nothing's changed, for the most part. That car you threw is obviously gone, as long with the bodies that you left.

Checking the turrets, you're happy to see that they haven't been meddled with at all. Man, today is your day.

Stage 2: The target must not notice he's being watched with tinker cameras.

Letting out a satisfied smile, you begin moving towards where you hid all your equipment. Hopefully, they haven't meddled with.

Stage 3: The target must accidentally lead us to his tinker gear, can be used as key evidence later

Finally arriving, you're pleased to see that all your tinker equipment hasn't been touched at all. Grabbing your multi-tool...

Stage 4: CAPTURE, CONTAINMENT, IMPRISONMENT

"THIS IS ARMSMASTER, SURRENDER NOW OR FACE FORCEFUL DETAINMENT, YOU'RE SURROUNDED BY SEVERAL HEROES, YOU CAN NOT ESCAPE"

And then it hits you

Launching yourself midair, you see the countless different variants of effects those nades had, a couple were flashbangs, a few... EMPS? And last, but not least some traditional containment foam. Looking around you briefly see Armsmaster himself donning his midnight blue power-armor, he's currently riding towards your location with his.. bike?

Before you can take in the details, you notice a cape dressed in red flying towards you. Narrowly dodging his attempt to pin you down onto the ground you manage to safely land. You attempt to begin sprinting anywhere that's not here, but that flying bastard forces you to stay on the defensive

>??? Flying Cape, you will need to defeat him if you seek to flee anytime soon.

Grunting, Armsmaster stays at a distance, occasionally throwing a nade to distract you.

Taking out your multi-tool, you rush towards where you kept your equipment. The red cape obviously tries to intervene, he repeatedly tries to get close and personal, but you manage to avoid his attempts at fisty cuffs. Grabbing the battery, you chaotically manage the practice of tinkering and dodging before you finally think it's ready.

Undoing one screw, you hurl the bloody thing while screaming
"FUUUUCCCCKKKKKK YOUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!"

>1,14

Before Armsmaster can even properly react, he's engulfed in majestic diamond blue light alongside his co-worker. You too are sent flying in the opposite direction, your body bangs against one of the walls you made. (-5)

As you quickly recover, you notice a fairly huge crater from where you threw that de-facto bomb... Armsmaster is nowhere to be seen, however his ally has recovered almost instantly.

Because why not be completely insane and take not just on the PRT but all of Brockton Bay!.

Or, even more fun, a parallel bomber battle. Gangs vs Bakuda and PRT vs Eitri.

>Natural 20 VS 13

Rushing forward, you seek to use the next vital seconds to grab a ranged weapon. While the hero does try to stop you, he's ultimately too slow due to just surviving whatever the hell you threw was. Yanking your rifle, you manage to dodge another one of the cape's attacks just in time.

Gaining some distance, you decide it's time to dish out some RIGHTFUL punishment. Aiming the rifle directly towards his shiny little head, you blast him with impeccable aim. At first, to your disappointment, your shots had no effect, but after a few minutes of repeating this process, you see the assumedly male cape slow down dramatically.

You were about to leg it, before...

Another red armored cape leaps into the fray, you vaguely manage to recognize him as Assault.

"Listen, calm down. We can still work this out peacefully, right? You were surprised attacked in your civilian identity by Armsmaster himself. No one can blame you for acting like this, a good lawyer can easily brush this off as self-defense, as long you turn yourself in. I'll even be with you every step out of the way, so, please."

"Stop it assault, we've nearly got him! Finish this dammit!"

"Finish what? Breaking the rules that capes live under!? We're supposed to be heroes, act like one! Or is this just some game of glory to you and Armsmaster!?"

Take Assault's offer, and come forward peacefully

This encounter was awesome. Bo3 was fine.

IMHO Bo2 is limiting dice-off player participation, especially in a well populated quest.

If its the BoX system that some do not like, one can play a regular RP with a GM.

Quest as a rule are extremely rules light. The only way to do away with BoX system (Bo2 might as well be that) the. Go for one dice and tart going for more Rulles to give players and NPCs a different approach to mechanics.

There is also to consider the crit supremacy on BoX, IMHO that is the inherent balance in it.

Assault's theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5Ka0WFqftA

Deciding that keeping your distance would be the smarter play, you fire upon the heroes. Aigis as per fashion fails to dodge your shots, but Assault is more much tricky. He's able to move fast enough to dodge all your bursts of heat, and he immediately dashes towards you. He nearly catches you in a hook kick, but you manage to narrowly dodge the blow via rolling.

You're suddenly struck with rubber bullets from behind. Turning, you see a woman wearing an American flag around her waist.

"Tch, I knew rubber bullets weren't going to work..."

Frowning, a green and black blur of energy forms around her. Gulping, you try to regain distance. Assault's still annoying as ever, as he makes sure that you're never far. Miss Militia stays on the sidelines, occasionally testing out your armor's defensives with a shot or two.

After a short while, you start doubting if you can last much longer, and you're sure there are more reinforcements en route...

Then, out of nowhere Assault's position is suddenly switched with Aigis's. Confusion is evident on both their faces, and it's further intensified when a humanoid bug creature attacks Miss Militia from behind, causing her to rapidly form a machete. She desperately strikes back, causing the beast to retreat slightly.

>18 vs 5, 8

Launching yourself towards the still confused Aegis, you throw a mean uppercut towards the wannabe iron-man. Before Assault can even get near, you throw Aegis devastatingly fast into the air, and he soon leaves scrapyard in a rather comical fashion.

14 vs 19
Not wanting to keep up the current pace of the fight, Miss Militia goes for a rather extreme choice of a weapon. Letting out a mean smile, she begins roasting the bug rather nonchalantly as it lets out a scream. The shiny, metallic flamethrower lets out a satisfying roar.

>4

The bug teleports out of the way, but it's far too late. You can tell the thing's on its last legs as the smell of it's burning flesh hits your nostrils.

We also killed Oni-Lee and the PRT broke their own unwritten rules if not also the law within they ought to function.

So we are also a good propaganda piece.

Still considering how things go I think a more pertinent motivation would be to take up Assaults former profession and break out prisoners, and perhaps pro bono the ones that were in the right like say Canary.

The fact that we would only need a top tenor to transpose some IRL music has nothing to do with this or becoming a world famous songwriter by taking Sabaton's stick ...

We probably need meme crypto to get somewhat rich out of it, but getting that in and of itself would make us filthy rich.
>>
>20 vs 23

Before you can even consider trying out the same strategy thrice, Assault intensifies his barrage. You're forced to focus entirely on defense. He doesn't relent, constantly on the offensive, he kicks, punches and slams himself into you, causing some degree of damage. (-15%)

>1,15 and 17 vs 19

The Bug creature dies almost instantly, and soon before Miss Militia can focus on you, she's assaulted by two new capes. One was clothed in heavy, black angular armor while the other donned a black costume with a red mask and a... top hat? In any case, Miss Militia responded accordingly with a well-placed flashbang, temporarily stunning the duo.

You soon see a few groups of armed men in the distance... it's probably the PRT's response team

You can see his face visibly contort into fear before you jab him in the face, for the final act you throw against the wall, and he violently crashes into it.

Dashing towards where you kept your gear, you frantically pick up your shotgun and welder.

Meanwhile...

>20, 12 vs 1, 16

Miss Militia throws a containment grenade, and the duo are forcefully stuck in the foam. Letting out a relieved expression, she begins walking towards Etiri. She doesn't notice her fatal mistake, however, and before she can even properly react, she's switched places. Her brows furrow as she sees the two capes standing where she stood.

"Sorry love, but that was a really dumb move"

"Shut it, we still need to deal with the rest of them, Trickster."

"Yeah, yeah, you don't need to ruin my fun..."

Holstering the welder and shotgun, you dash back towards a relativity safe location. You attempt to take potshots until suddenly you're struck from... above?

You get pummeled into the ground, and before you can even properly react you're launched into the air. After a few, long tense seconds you finally hit the ground rather painfully. (-30%)

"Hurts, doesn't it? That move you pulled on me would have killed a normal person. Learn a little restraint..."

Grueling, you try to get up...

MEANWHILE

"I'm listening"

"What if I teleport you into the middle of that group, and you do your thing?"

"Fine, be prepared to teleport me out immediately after I've stopped using my power on them."

"Sure..."

Soon after, Ballistic is indeed teleported into the group of PRT goons. Tagging their clothes, he sends a fair amount of them flying in the opposite direction. When he turns himself back... he sees trickster lying on the floor, presumably knocked unconscious by a lone PRT goon.

"Fucking Imbecile..."

The remaining goons begin to surround him, and he tries to think of a way out of this that doesn't involve killing 20 people.

You attempt to get up, but before you can even push yourself upwards Assualt strikes you again, kicking you back down.

"I think it's about time we end this. I commend you for not using your lethal weapons, so I'll make this quick."

He smashes his foot down towards your neck, and you can feel the air being squeeze out of your body.

"I won't lie, you did a surprisingly good job against us. You took down... what... like two experienced heroes? Not bad..."

You slowly lose consciousness as Assault keeps up the pressure on your windpipe...

Meanwhile

Ballistic considers his options but ultimately settles on something unexpected. Grabbing his clothes, he uses his power to send him and his outfit flying towards the unconscious Trickster.

Surprisingly, this turns out rather well. Barely being able to stop himself, he slugs the lone goon and carries Trickster on his right shoulder.

After a second of decision making, he opts to abandon the lone tinker and face Coil's wrath.

"Fuck that, like hell I'm getting captured for this guy..."

In another world, The Undersiders attempted to help, but Bitch and Hermann ended up killing each over after an accident involving one of her dogs. Frowning, Coil closes that timeline altogether.

Slowly waking, you find yourself trapped in a dark, eerily lit room. Your hands and legs are tightly cuffed onto a cold, steel chair that you're currently sitting on. In front of you lies an old, wooden table alongside an identical chair. After a few minutes of silence, the nearby door suddenly opens and you're met by an obese, pig-like woman donning a navy blue jacket and skirt.

"You know, tinkers were always my favorite. Without their gear, they're practically powerless..."

Sitting down, she takes out a small file of sorts and places it down on the table.

"Your name is Hermann Schmidt, correct?"

Taking out a picture of you from your high school days, she waves it around, awaiting an answer

"Yes"

"Good, at least you're not doing the silent treatment. Let's get started, shall we?"

"You're currently facing 9 charges of second-degree murder, 3 charges of assault, 2 charges of resisting arrest currently. And let me tell you now, that list is only going to get much larger from now on."

"As you can tell already, fighting this using the courts would be borderline suicidal. However..."

"I can recognize Armsmaster's actions... as questionable in certain areas. So I'm willing to offer a 'get out of jail free' card as you will. You're too old to join the wards, of course, but you can still join the Protectorate as a probationary member."

"Regardless of your answer, I'm not legally allowed to let you make your decision until you've consulted a lawyer. I hope for the both of us you make the correct decision."

Leaving her seat, she walks through the door and slams it behind her.

"My name is Jeremiah Brook. I'm your assigned attorney, as you can probably guess..."

Sighing, he places down a coal black suitcase and takes out a rather large amount of paperwork.

"Firstly, I apologize about the cuffs. Since you're clearly a parahuman, they're allowed to do that and much more if they see it as necessary."

"Secondly, you're currently facing 14 charges of differing severity. And you can bet it that they'll add more when they get the opportunity.

>"THIS IS ARMSMASTER, SURRENDER NOW OR FACE FORCEFUL DETAINMENT, YOU'RE SURROUNDED BY SEVERAL HEROES, YOU CAN NOT ESCAPE"

>Hastily, you barely manage to get inside your suit before you hear the high pitched noise of a motorcycle. Grunting, you see dozens of grenades landing nearby...

>Before you can take in the details, you notice a cape dressed in red flying towards you

First off, we were attacked in our civilian identity. The PRT capes initiated and escalated violence. They did not say WHY we were being detained. They gave us no time to think. We were under great duress because of the broken rule and Armsmaster's tone and words were antagonistic. Panic forced us to act to defend ourselves.

Aegis didn't give us room to breathe let alone talk and Armsy was throwing grenades and we scrambled to respond in kind, with unintentional consequences as we even harmed ourselves.

We had access to lethal weaponry but we went for the non-lethal laser rifle to defend ourselves with.

The PRT did not attempt to negotiate until after their ambush failed. Once again, before we were able to respond another PRT cape told him to shut up and that "we've nearly got him! Finish this dammit!" There was obvious division in their ranks and as such we could not trust that the offer was in good faith or that the decision wouldn't be overturned. Their aggressive and single-minded focus to pacify us with violence made surrender or compromise impossible.

An unknown Case-53 appeared and after we defeated Aegis, miss Militia began roasting the new arrival with a fucking flamethrower! At that point we began to fear for our life and go to retrieve our shotgun. Still despite the fact miss militia murdered a bugman in front of our eyes we holstered it and kept using our nonlethal laser rifle for defense.

The last thing we remember is Assault crushing our windpipe with a boot to our neck.

tl;dr
1 Trespassed at our workplace
2 Attacked our civilian identity
3 They ambushed us with excessive force
4 Put us in a bad emotional state and did not give enough time to respond to their demands
555 MURDERED A BUGMAN in front of our eyes

In response we:
1 donned our suit, which is the only reason we survived the hits by Aegis and Assault, and were not harmed by Militia's bullets
2 panicked and used an IED that also caught and harmed ourself. It could have killed all 3 of us.
3 defended ourselves with our non-lethal rifle when lethal alternatives were available to us
4 retrieved a lethal weapon but did not use it, despite witnessing our opponent murder a case-53.

(Hermann doesn't know that bugman was a fake)
--

Let's not forget that they were trespassing at our workplace. Did they have a search warrant? Was our employer informed that the PRT were going to conduct a sting at his place of business? Without a warrant they were breaking the law. It's a shame we didn't notice that our turrets had been sabotaged.

"Is it alright if we talk about the details of the case?"

"Sure, go ahead. I imagine you want to clarify a lot of things on your end."

"Um... for one. Was Armsmaster allowed to arrest me, and barge into my workplace?"

"Starting off with the big questions, huh? Whatever, in short, he was. Protectorate members reserve the right to arrest and barge into private property, I'm afraid. They also don't need to tell you your rights, mainly because telling, I don't know, let's use Lung as an example, his rights would be breath wasted."

"Then what about the resisting arrest charges, they barely gave me any time before throwing grenades at me..."

"You see... I think they're planning to use the 9 murder charges as an excuse. I imagine the prosecution will claim that you were a violent superpowered murderer or something similar. And that the 'heroes' were simply doing their jobs."

"You do know that the whole fight was recorded, right?"

"...What are you talking about?"

"Tch, of course, they didn't tell you. Apparently, Armsmaster installed tinker cameras everywhere. The whole fight was recorded."

"Let me guess, he reserves the right to do that, as well?"

"No, actually. You need actual written permission to do something like that, even if you're a hero. We could try and make it illegal evidence, although I would hold off on that. We could actually use the video evidence ourselves."

"Use it…how?"

"Well, for one, you didn't use your shotgun, right? From what I read, you mostly just used your non-lethal weaponry, ignoring that bomb. The video evidence should show that. There's probably a good chance we could use it in other ways, although that's a bit of a coin toss."

"What about the cape rules? Can't we use that?"

"Afraid not. They're called the unwritten rules for a reason. At best, we can try to mention them to the jury, although even that would likely get objected."

Shaking your head, you try to center your thinking

"So what's the worst/best case scenario?"

"Worst case scenario is the birdcage. Best case would probably be… Hm… 3-4 years? This is assuming we can already dodge those 9 murder charges."

"So…uh…why do you think we can 'dodge' them?"

"Mostly due to the lack of evidence. You were the only living witness after all. Plus, I think we both know they were almost certainly the aggressors. Especially since a: They were found in your workplace and b: Oni Lee was assumedly leading them. The guy's a well-known sociopath and murderer, and that gives us leverage for self-defense."

"So in short... how does that leave us?"

"Hm, to be short and simple it's going to be an uphill battle at best. Not unwinnable mind you, but I'd strongly consider a plea bargain of some kind. The prosecution will want this to end quietly, if at all possible."

"What about that bug creature Miss Militia burned? Can we use that in any way?"

"What are you talking about? According to the report I've read, there's nothing like that mentioned at all."

"...huh?!"

"Are you positive that really did happen?"

"Yes, of course! She burned this weird case 53 cape with a goddamn flamethrower! There's no way in hell I could forget that disgusting smell!"

"Hm…Interesting. On that topic, what's your relationship with The Travelers? Supposedly two capes called Trickster and Ballistic helped you during the fight, correct?"

"I'm…not honestly sure. I've definitely never met those capes in question, although I think I might have seen them fight Miss Millita."

Frowning, Jeremiah begins flipping through countless documents.

"Any last questions before Piggot herself comes back? I'd imagine she's going to try to make some sort of deal if she hasn't already."

i kinda think we should join them, we can get the high grade parts we need and the time to build up. also there is the possibility of hiding stuff from them in supply caches

if we dont join then they will rail road us in court mostly because they operate as a gang in the bay

Vaguely, yes
I'm not a real lawyer, so I've tried it under some basic hypothetical American common law, although I know it differs majorly between state to state, and since Brockton Bay doesn't really exist, it's hard to pin down which state it would be in ignoring something obvious like it's in the east coast.

Wait, is a lawyer required to tell the authorities if you reveal to him that you're planning another crime? Either way, I'd like to ask him how we will be held. What restraints, with who, what prison will we probably go to. I want to know if it's actually feasible for us to escape.

"No, I think I've asked enough"

"Sure, I should only be gone for like 30 seconds, I need to inform them personally that you're ready"

Leaving the room, he's gone for a short while before coming back. Moving one of the chairs next to you, he sits down

"She's going to probably 'hand' you some documents that'll need your signature. Whatever you do, do not say 'yes' until I've read all the finer print. You'll want to hear the exact terms and conditions understand?"

Nodding, the door suddenly bursts open. Entering the room is the same pig-faced woman from before, alongside with some kind of male guard. Grabbing the seats opposite to you, she makes straight eye contact.

"Has the defendant received proper counsel?"

"He has, Miss Piggot."

"Good, we can resume. Guard, undo the cuffs on his arms."

Complying, the guard in question takes out a key and moves towards your chair. Crouching, he unlocks your tight cuffs, and you can finally move your hands again.

Moving back to his seat, Piggot takes out a 10-page document and hands it towards you. Shrugging this off, you hand it off towards your Attorney.

"I hope you understand we're being VERY generous here. I'd advise you to take that into consideration"

Scowling, you patiently wait for Jeremiah's input.

"I ask that the both of you leave the room. Me and my client would like to talk about this in privacy"

"Very well"

Leaving the room, the duo leaves silently without another word.

"So give me the overview"

"Sure, what they're basically offering you is a prohibitive status as a Hero of the Protectorate. Under a 2 year period you will not be 'free', but something more akin to Parole. During that period they're allowed to track your position, alongside your gear. And you'll be forced to live in the ENE Headquarters. You'll also not be allowed to leave unaccompanied into the city unless it's concerning 'work', and you have to be back by 6 PM."

"What about the actual'work' then? Will I be paid? What about my gear?"

"Regarding the former, you'll be working 40 hours a week, alongside with a yearly salary of $40,000. Additionally, you'll be forced to attend several classes in self-defense, arresting procedure, and much more. For the latter... they reserve the right to give or take away any gear you've made."

"After that two-year period, assuming you haven't committed any offenses, you'll regain your full freedom. Ah, and Endbringer attendance is voluntary."

"You won't be able to sue the PRT for any of their actions that may have been... legally questionable."

"Just for clarification, they also have the right to use any method of surveillance they wish."

Biting your nails, you try to consider your options. Piggot's offer is good... but being a hero isn't exactly what you want. Decisions, decisions...

"Would you like some alone time to consider your options?"

"No... I'm fine. I think I've made my decision."

"Alrighty then, I'll call her back in"

Jeremiah soon exits and returns with Piggot and her lone guard. They all return to their previous seats and recommence.

But I want flexibility on what I can tinker on and I want it negotiatable. I would also like right on any confiscated items on criminals i.e. weapons to examine and break down into scrap for projects as it would be cheaper and more cost efficient. We could just keep making and working on batteries like the one we used on armsmaster. With the ability for us to remotely overload them whenever we want. Giving the PRT a bunch of what they will think are highly unstable and powerful explosives that could go off at any time is a surefire way to convince them that they want us out the door and out of their hair ASAP. We could also work on devices that we can remotely disable at will so that they will fail on the PRT whenever they get in a crucial scrap.
>>
I thought it over, and I'm leaning on fighting this because I think we can beat all the current charges except MAYBE resisting, though we do have good reason to.

Cross examine Miss Milita would either cause her to lie or tell the truth or show she may have omitted some details.

What I'm not sure of, are some bullshit charges thrown on afterwards which we don't know what they are yet.

Assuming the US constitution is still something here (4th Amendment), even the protectorate being able bypass certain rights for exceptions like Lung are just that, exceptions. He would have had a warrant considering him and his gang are more or less terrorists.
>>

Would be funny if Armsmaster was so butthurt he and that other cape we knocked out went to "help unlock" our equipment but ended up being very rough with it that they break it and the researchers looking it over could hardly learn anything.

I'd like to add, that if we fight a bit dirty on this, such as broadcasting that the PRT are helping or prosecuting us on behalf of a bunch of murderous gangs that we defeated in self defense, it would reeaaaly hurt them at least in Public imagine and social capital.

All we would have to do is make alot of noise, and videotape and publish or raise awareness of this. We can do it by proxy through our lawyer who we can empower to act on our behalf in official an capacity......?

Piggot lets out a visible sigh of relief as you reply, and hands you a pen.

"I'm glad you could see reason. Sign here, there and in the bottom"

Reluctantly, you comply with her requests. Signing your signature on the document, you push it towards her.

"I'm happy that is could be ended quietly, you've made the right choice Mr. Schmidt. I'm Director Piggot, your new boss. Guard, undo his chains"

Nodding, the guard in question leaves his seat and begins the process of removing the tight cuffs on your legs. After a minute or so, you can finally feel your legs again.

"You may stand, but I ask you to remain here until I send someone over. Is that agreeable?"

"Uh, sure"

Standing up, you being mindlessly walking around the room. The Duo leave, and it's soon just you and your lawyer.

"So... thanks I guess?"

Jeremiah is dead silent for a few moments, but soon enough he replies.

"Tch, no problem kid. If you ask me personally, you were practically forced into that deal. Regardless, I hope we don't meet again, for your sake."

Frowning, he begins putting away all the countless paperwork around the table inside his coal-like suitcase.

Wew, fuck me 127 different IPs. That's more than some fuck quest threads, goddamn
If even you count 2/3 of that as the same people using different IPs, that's still like 40 people.

I don't know what you guys really see in me, but I'm happy regardless.

So what did you think? Any criticisms, or any positives? Am I hack? Should I kill myself? I'm happy to hear any feedback.

And most importantly of all, thank (you) anon, yes (you)! I haven't had this much fun in ages, and it's really made my week.

Akire you are wonderful and special not many can run a quest that is both fun and thought provoking at the same time

you should feel good about your self and what you have accomplished, many go not as far as you
>>

You are doing a good job as far as I am concerned! If anything, I would suggest you treat yourself to a nice german beer to find inspiration for the next round
>>

Oh fuck I forgot to vote.... Thought I had more time.

Oh well would have still lost by 1.
>>
>>3288507
You've been doing a good job. I'm really curious what that special limitation of ours you hinted at is. It was, "one of the main things a tinker can do is locked off for you," right? Anybody know what it is?
>>3288557
It was real close. I almost switched to fighting it in court, but ultimately I think this will be more entertaining. Interacting with the heroes, being sneaky, trying to get out from under the PRT. The other choice would either be a prolonged court case (hard for akire to make that engaging without a time skip or something) or a prison break, which is not as interesting.
>>
>>3288481
Is that ironic? I hope not
>>3288507
You're pretty good so far, Akire. No criticism here.

A proper time limit or warning for ending voting period I guess. I just woke up and thought I still had half a day before the vote ended. Mostly my fault for waiting so long for more discussion I guess.

prison is not freedom and for the next decade or so there watching you hoping that you will do something that lets them put you back in a box

yes they are beraking the law but who are we gonna complain to they are the law
the best we can do is go with the assault(madcap) stratagem and change them from the inside but even that wont work because of "conflict drive" and lets face it a government is just the group of people that you agree rule you
>>
>>3288607
They are an illegal law that could be brought down with lawfare, but seriously none of us want to be a tinker lawyer and probably a SCOTUS later on in worm verse.

I would be fine with hard jail time so we could write our own little "mein kampf" book, mostly bitching about the systems tricks and problems and how it screwed us and violated our rights. It becomes a best seller, and a bit of social commentary of the times. We make money and rep, and the E88 would probably drool at the prospect of us join them.....
>>
>>3288568
I thought it would be more interesting to be in prison. We could have actually started to recruit while in there.

I think so too, even going to the birdcage would be pretty interesting desu.

Also, Pigot seemed relieved, I bet that we could'
ve done a heck of lot better with the negotiations.

Going to court may have fucked us, but it probably would've fucked the PTR more.

Once word got out to the capes that they broke the unwritten rules, shit could get bad fast.

By complying we basicly help them keep their sady practices under wraps.

I think we should pretend to comply but find some way to get the word out that "no one is safe, the game has changed".

Coil's theme:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJW_ldC7sUA

COMPLICATIONS

"We failed, boss. Genesis's creature got killed early on, and Trickster fucked up badly. I was forced to retreat."

Coil's expression darkened. He hadn't expected a complication like this to pass by him. To think, a tinker was hiding among his land and was more or less working for him.

"Luckily, I managed to escape without causing any casualties."

How did this slip by? Did he make a mistake? Did he purposefully ignore something crucial? An error in his judgment?

"So, uh... am I free to go?"

"Of course, leave. Remain on standby for the meanwhile."

"Understood."

Or was this a mistake of chance? Despite all his success, all his gains, he was still human. He couldn't predict something that had a 0.000001% chance of happening.

Splitting realities, he calls Tattertale directly via a burner phone.

"This is Coil, have you read the documents I leaked?"

"Of course, let me guess, you want my expertise?"

"Correct, first off, does he know of the bunker?"

"Yeah, he does. Although... Hm... I think he's vaguely suspicious of it, although that's just it."

"Next question, what's his specialty?"

"He doesn't have one, I'm 99% sure he's some kind of all-rounder tinker similar to Leet."

"Next, what are the chances of him accepting the PRT's bargain?"

"Pretty high I'd guess, I don't think he's stupid enough to reject it."

Closing that reality, he ponders his next move.

Why would they have us learn all this hero stuff when its more productive for them and us to just make tinker shit for them to use? Do they expect us to waste time patrolling when we could be making tech for them?
>>
>>3290663
Maybe they want to instill heroic values into us so after the two years is up we don't start selling nukes to people.
Course that will have a limited effect
We'll see however, in character we don't want to kill heroes so we aren't actually evil at least.
>>
>>3290692
Who you do you think our handler will be? I hope its Miss Militia, I don't know much about her.
>>

>>3290731

>>
>>3290953
Whatever we do, we gotta remember our overall goal. So we put minimal effort into the things PRT wants us to do, and improve our battery/bomb making and make a bunch of unstable, remotely detonating on our command power sources for them.
>>
>>3291176
I don't even remember what was our original goal beyond tinkering for the sake of tinkering.
>>
>>3291196

>>
>>3291381

>>
>>3291400

>>
>>3291406
the whole human race. got it. so what build tinker tech and plan to assassinate Kaiser and take him place in the new power vacuum as the new ruler of the E88?
>>
>>3291412
Or maybe just support them while being independent or semi independent of E88. Kaiser is pretty tough, I don’t think we wanna go after him. Especially since they will be suspicious of us due to our forced affiliation with PRT.
>>
We're gonna do a Grand Betrayal of Assmaster Right
>>
>>3291421
Kaiser isn't even racist though, he's authoritarian at most and even that's stretching it.
>>
>>3291431
Can we make an assblaster?
Lets see how bootyblasted he can get.
>>
>>3291431
Grand Betrayal of the entire PRT. Get them all wearing our tinker tech that we can remotely detonate. Then detonate it all when they get into a big fight.
>>
>>3291796
That would be a one-way ticket to a kill order. Maybe if we make it all just teleport away instead of detonate?
>>
>>3292273
The PRT capes are tough, they’d survive the detonations. I was thinking it would do just enough damage to them to make them lose whatever tough fight they are in very badly.
>>
>>3292273
Or we could just saturate the PRT with equipment that, while entirely functional for their needs, has a collective planned obsolescence which we can activate as soon as they can’t BTFO us instantly.
>>
>>3292557
Planned obsolescence sounds good, we can make good excuses for that or if they give us alot of high quality material we make it so it wears out faster due to its design. We should also make arguable good but inferior equipment than what we would really make. But we should keep in mind that they have some of our toys that they can analyze and compare.

I wonder if we can patent any of the stuff we develop....
>>
>>3292653
I don’t think you can really patent tinkertech, as it normally is simply beyond the means of modern mass production.
>>
>>3292660
I mean low level tinkertech like mass stun guns with limited but proprietary power sources. Allows us to make lots of money long term.
>>
>>3292670
all of our tinkertech we make for some time is PRT property.

That would include the power sources and how to make them.
>>
>>3292660
Yeah but our tinkertech can be, through effort, somewhat mass producible. Especially if Dragon gets in on it.

This is something we do not want. If there is one major organisation that is definitely against our ideals it is the PRT, as civnats.
>>
>>3292732
In fact having signed this any design for the next 2 years weather we break free or betray them or whatever is considered legaly theirs, thus if we figure out a way to mass produce them, legally we can not have a production line for it else they will seize it, so we will have to do hidden production line as if a rebel compound known to be against the PRT and the US Gov, or outside of PRT area of influence.

Nice stuff.
Prison would have been better than working for the PRT. Hell working for any other gang or even Coil would have been better than the PRT, just for the very painful fact that all they do is legally binding.
>>
>>3292748
Working for the E88 would've been the best after being free.
Working for Accord would be OK, but we would probably never get to advance.
Working for the PRT isn't ideal, but we can pretend to have a specialty like "personal armaments" or something. If we play it safe, avoid making anything too good and look out for Coil we can get out safely.
Working for Coil would be a Bad End. Have you seen what he did to Dinah? He made her into a coke addict and extracted predictions from her; he would do something equally fucking terrible to us.
>>
If we do any PRT killing I fear they'll bring in the Triumhperant or whatever they're called. Then we'll be fucked.
>>
Also because of the fact we'll be suspected of foul play, any designs we make or offer will be inspected by the Thinker's under the PRT's thumb for heavy scrutiny. Correct? Pretty sure they'll notice any design flaws such as stuff wearing out faster, bombs, too cost ineffective.

>>3292748
If we're worried about using our creations to make their own goodies, then why not just stick to what we already have and not make anymore stuff? How would prison be better than working for the PRT? OP said that they'd take the precautions so we couldn't escape.
>>
>>3292732
We set off the power source we developed and used to take out assmaster remember? They don't got diddly jack.
>>
>>3292780
If that's the case, then they would hardly need us for anything. Hell we can just do nothing for the next few years and time skip it instead just to deny them anything else useful.
>>
>>3292787
>do nothing and timeskip 2 years
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
No.
>>
>>3292787
Pretty sure they'd still want us to do something. I'm not sure the details of the contract, but I suspect if we do a sub-par job then they might reconsider sending us off to jail. Where we do nothing all day but star at a wall numbly.
>>
>>3292833
Get some gains though.
>>
>>3292851
One of very few benefits so we don't die of boredom. Kind of depressing.
So overall working as a hero is sort of shitty for us because we actually have to be a hero and go on patrol, so we should milk this for as much as we can. Use their firing range and boolets to improve our marksmanship, use their gym to improve our naturally superior aryan body. Possibly use their connections to find the Slaughterhouse 9.
>>
>>3292851
>Spend our indentured servitude getting JACKED and reading some esoteric political philosophy
Sign me up
>>
>>3292653
We could tell them one of our limitations is the planned obsolescence.
>>
>>3292833
They can't send us to jail unless we violate probation. They signed a contract.
>>
>>3292787
in two years Golden Morning happens, aka the end of all worlds, apocalypse, armageddon, ragnarok, etc.

The PRT deal has us locked in on the PRT bureaucratic side unless we go deserter/traitor.

Coil we could have endured his shit and cooperated with Tattletale and Skitter to fuck his shit up, as the player base is as always invertebrate cowards.
>>
>>3292995
at least we got a good reason to be completely uncooperative with PR and HR and call ourselves Janissary while in PRT employ.

Completely on the nose of what we are for anyone who knows a bit of history.
>>
>>3292868
Also, as a tinker we can not stop tinkering. It is a compulsion.

So if we don't want our creations to become PRT property we still have to run away, only now with not just the consequences of escaping jail but also breaking their contract.

I really am wondering what was in the head of the anons who voted for the PRT. Are they cowards? Are they unaware of Wormshit? What possessed them to lock us in on the most ineffectual bureaucratic governmental hero organisation when our character is highly opposed to the government in the first place?
>>
>>3293053
I voted for PRT because I didn't see anyway Mermann from his own point of view would know of Coil or the odds of getting sprung from jail. Now that you mention how Tinkerers have a compulsion to make things, jail would be absolute torture.
>>
>>3292922
So if we do not run, we are going to be the Superpowerd version of Ron Swanson.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Tch4v0L0GHA
>>3293062
With the compulsion to tinker it is a guaranteed prison break for us in a week at the longest.

And as a lone tinker getting sprung out of jail by someone else is just getting potentially less shitty deal than the PRT forced conscription, as it actually has the inherent chance of us turning the tables on them, making and using our creations as we please, etc
>>
>>3292780
>Also because of the fact we'll be suspected of foul play, any designs we make or offer will be inspected by the Thinker's under the PRT's thumb for heavy scrutiny. Correct? Pretty sure they'll notice any design flaws such as stuff wearing out faster, bombs, too cost ineffective.

Smart anon, yes. By the time you're at ENE headquarters, they will have employed several thinkers on you.

>>3293062
>Implying Coil WOULD get you out
Honhonhonhon
No.
If you guys made the other choice, I would've added a bit more to that Coil interlude about him going 'fuck that'. He can easily employ other tinkers Via shrekels, he's not going to the bother of freeing some literal who.
>>
>>3293085
So while the other anons are dissatisfied with the majority choice, this one was by far the safest and best we could hope for. I feel kind of bad for our lawyer though. The guy looked like he was really hoping for a lucky break.
>>
>>3293105
It’s really not the best we could have got. We had a lot of leverage to get a better deal due to it being literal terrorists that we took out. In addition to the string of fuckups and illegal/amoral things the PRT did to get us in their grasp.
>>
>>3293105
>>3293128
I stand by this option being more entertaining, and that's all I care about.
>>
>>3293105
He was more pissed off by the bullshit the PRT could do. After all, they can effectively force people to become heroes via leaving them no other option than long term jailtime.

While the PRT is still a necessary evil, there are MAJOR things that needed to be fixed, in his view anyway

That's just some extra insight into him.
>>
>>3293132
This is probably the least entertaining and most boring option possible.
>>
>>3293053
>lock us in
Kek what?
>>3293135
I mean, that's obviously subjective. Tense interactions with the heroes sure sounds fun to me.
>>
>>3293139
And a shitton of tedious and boring votes and rolling over doing nothing. How interesting.
>>
>>3293128
wasn't the alternative getting locked in jail for 2-8 years or something, with the PRT keeping a very close eye on a cape (tinker) who could make almost anything our of any materials? So they would regulate what Hermann could have or do? I think making social interations with other inmates was in there somewhere?

>Anyway, for clarification, if you went to fight the PRT using the courts, you would of almost certainly have been placed in your cell, and you'd be separated from the other inmates because, well, the PRT isn't THAT dumb.
>>
>>3293144
Why will there be
>tedious and voting votes and rolling over doing nothing
? As >>3293147 says the alternative was being locked in a fucking jail.
>>
>>3293147
We could have negotiated a less restrictive deal. A more financially lucrative deal. A shorter deal. We had the leverage and a competent lawyer. Instead we took the PRT’s first offer up our asshole with no lube and no resistance.
>>
>>3293155
I’m not saying we could have avoided working for the PRT. But we could have got a better deal. Instead of taking their cocks up our ass.
>>
>>3293155
I think some anons forgot what getting locked in jail would entail.

>>3293157
Even accounting for all of our evidence I think the results would be the same. You're assuming we could have actually gotten a better deal out of their team of lawyers?
>>
>>3293163
Yes. Our lawyer could have gone public. PRT illegally stalking and attacking, without warning. Persecuting the man who stopped known terrorist oni lee.
>>
>>3293144
Why will there be
>tedious and voting votes and rolling over doing nothing
? As >>3293147 says the alternative was being locked in a fucking jail.
>>3293157
They're in a position of power over us. What evidence do you have that they would've negotiated with us instead of telling us to fuck off to jail?
>>
>>3293163
Just the threat of going to court and going to the public would be enough to make them offer a better deal. They do not want to deal with a lengthy court battle, even one that they know they will win. They don’t want to deal with public scrutiny into their stalking, assaulting, and coercion of a private citizen.
>>
>>3293147
we only need to make some explosives out of part of our food and some containers like the plastic watercup.

Break out enough inmates to essentially turn it into a riot and we would be out in a few weeks at most, past our first surprise inspection (not doing shit except scouting and marking patterns until then.)
>>3293139
Like you can not have the same interactions in fights against endbringers, S9 and other similar threats.

>>3293105
As I said, cowards

I am not against going for the kill order and simply blowing up the Protectorate Base with a fusion bomb that will vaporize all heroes and personnel inside instantly and by default ending PRT ENE as they would essentially loose the largest hero concentration ever.

ABB is done for with Oni dead and Lung to the Birdcage.

Now we only need to take out the Merchants and Coil's catspaws and we have a reputation to challenge Kaiser for E88 leadership.

We would need to somehow produce before the annihilation of the PRT enough tinkertech options to have the power to prevent the Protectorate or the US from coming back to Brockton Bay to restore their authority- something that Cauldron already will aid as Brockton Bay is the experimental grounds to test Parahuman Feudalism as the world wide government form post Golden Morning.

This is the way to use the situation but considering the voting patterns i doubt the anons have in them the ruthlessness to plan something of said scale of utterly murdering every last hero and all auxiliary personnel in the PRT ENE.
>>
>>3293155
Escaping jail is a lot more easier and with less onerous consequences than escaping PRT employ.

On the other hand if you want to kill every last Protectorate Hero, Ward and PRT agent in ENE, well than i applaud you for your ambition.
Fusion bomb is probably a bit overkill but if we can make a clean fusion bomb it is probabaly the best way to take out the Protectorate Rig. PRT HQ will be a bother to take out completely without collateral damage.
>>
>>3293182
>Anyway, for clarification, if you went to fight the PRT using the courts, you would of almost certainly have been placed in your cell, and you'd be separated from the other inmates because, well, the PRT isn't THAT dumb.
>>
>>3293173
They attacked us, without warning. They performed unlawful surveillance. They murdered one of the Travellers in front of us, and then lied about it in their official report. Spoliation of evidence.
>>
>>3293185
Being isolated does not mean we can do nothing. And that isolation only lasts until trial.
>>
>>3293186
The surveillance was actually legal. Or was the it knocking down the door? I think it was either one of the two. We talked about that with our lawyer.
>>
>>3293195
The point I’m making is that we could have got a better deal. But we didn’t even try.
>>
>>3293195
Instead we just let ourselves get fucked in the ass. And signed off on it. And for the next 2 years we have miles of PRT cock to look forward to.
>>
>>3293190
And none of their Thinkers or capes would think of ways of how we would escape and make countermeasures, just as we would make plans too to escape?

>>3293202
Still got doubts about a better deal. Failure meant jail time which I'd hate to go. It's supposed to be real mind numbing or some shit.

>>3293204

2 years of constant surveillance and being forced to work for the assholes who assaulted us, busted up our shit, and imprisoned us. You don’t see an issue in that? Do you like being raped? Because that is what PRT is doing to us.
>>
>>3293214
I don't see how this is rape unless you're into that kind of stuff. Free housing and food. Also the opportunity of make fun of the Wards. Especially Pan and the edgy girl with the Stranger shard.
>>
>>3293206
>>3293205
The moniker Jenissary would fit you like a glove.

>>3293204
Well, the assfucking might be worth it if we get in a position to utterly murder every last gov hero in Brockton.

But no one here is willing to pull a Nilbog and go this city is mine, everyone who will not obey me will be brutally murdered.

I mean ,we could go for a system that makes cyberzombies out of fallen fighters to recycle dead parahumans in a endbringer fight, pretend to inter them, and after the truce is gone, then bomb the rig and cyberzombie the survivors.

With parahuman servitors we have the firepower to match E88 and could go for a duel between ourselves and Keiser if we proclaim the same ideology and beat Keiser at the talk as the better Fuhrer.
>>
>>3293214
>he still hasn't gotten it
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>>
>>3293220
I say we just betray PRT the first fucking chance we get and go over to E88. At least they won’t be as restrictive. That’s how bad the PRT is. They make the Kaiser look like a libertarian dudeweedlmao hippy.

The only group who would probably take us. Plus our guy is a bit of a Nazi. Escaping and going alone is impossible at this point. Cool will just screw us over. And E88 would probably welcome us with a lot less restrictions, more freedom, and more resources than any other group.
>>
>>3293224
betraying the PRT is kind of pointless now if we don't manage to steal a fuckton of shit or in the process of doing so cause massive and unimaginable damage.

On the other hand post that if we do got E88, with no dual ideantity we could work for a covert infrastructure to support outed capes and when the E88 capes get outed by the death of Coil (has that folder on deadmanswitch release) we would be the defacto in charge parahuman, as Medhal and Max Anders lost all of his civilian position of CEO that allows him to support the Empire.

Hell, if we do enough for a kill order the Empire taking us in would be primed to escalate to a full on warband and stop playing by the rules entirely once outed, and fight for real and to the death, especially if the one sporting a kill order is the one defacto in charge of the leftover funding infrastructure.

>The Janissaries (Ottoman Turkish: يڭيچرى yeñiçeri [jeniˈtʃeɾi], meaning "new soldier") were elite infantry units that formed the Ottoman Sultan's household troops, bodyguards and the first modern standing army in Europe.[3][4] The corps was most likely established during the reign of Murad I (1362–89).[5]

>They began as an elite corps of slaves made up of kidnapped young Christian boys who were converted to Islam,[6] and became famed for internal cohesion cemented by strict discipline and order. Unlike typical slaves, they were paid regular salaries. Forbidden to marry or engage in trade, their complete loyalty to the Sultan was expected

The white light engulfed him. He had never quite felt anything like it, his body being pushed with some kind of kinetic vibration. He had blurted in and out of consciousness several times, and before long succumbed to the white light.

Awaking slowly, he felt his body scream in agony. He was inside a hospital bed, and the first thing he saw was the obtuse, bleak ceiling. Moving his body at a snail's pace, he eventually succeeded in moving his bruised body upwards.

"Colin, are you awake?"

Coughing, he managed to barely respond

"Y-yes, did we... did that lone cape get captured...?"

Dragon had stayed uncharacteristically quiet for a few moments, before finally responding

"...Yes, Assault managed to finish the arrest... Listen... Colin..."

"Good, my hard work wasn't wasted..."

Armsmaster seemed to immediately relax, in comparison Dragon's voice wavered.

"Is Panacea on the way? Dragon?"

"Yes, there's something I need to tell you..."

"What is it? Spit it out, you know I trust you."

"...Aigis has been demoted, and Piggot will likely do the same towards you. She's furious Colin... what were you thinking?"

"...What do you mean? The guy killed like 30 people Dragon, I had to take him down. You saw what he did to those ABB goons, right?"

"Yes! But straight up violating the cape rul-"

"Worthless rules, especially considering the guy's crimes, I honestly hope he gets sent to the birdcage-"

"Listen to me Colin for god's sake!"

Armsmaster had, as Dragon commanded stayed awkwardly silent. He couldn't comprehend what he did wrong, his brain just couldn't recognize it.

After a tense silence, Panacea finally arrived.

"May I use my power on you?"

"Yes, you may."

The awkward atmosphere only intensified to a critical point. Quickly finishing up her work, Amy fled the room.

"What am I going to do with you..."

>>3292995
Well even if the qm didn't vote there would still likely be a tie so not very high chance that fighting it was gonna win.
>>
>>3293626
the point was not to fight it, but do a few months in prison while getting good goy points to get our hands on enough chemicals to make a nice collection of explosives and blow our way to freedom.

The Canary Trial has show that as a parahuman you will always lose to anyone else as a rule in the court of law.

The point was not to fight and win it but to not sign the damned contract that grants the property right to our compulsive tinkering over to the PRT as long as we are forcibly employed as their slave with a pocket money fund.

Now even if we betray them legally they replicate our shit if it can be replicated as the legal holders of the design.

Even if we manage to Nilbog Brockton Bay post Leviathan by pulling a mass murder/cyberservitorisation of all Protectorate Capes, PRT still remains the legal holder of our technology and can dejure licence it and produce it if it is mass producible.

Then there is the fact that I am highly skeptical of anons being willing to pull such a ruthless stunt of turning all Protectorate capes in Brockton into Combat Servitors or blowing them up with a clean fusion bomb.

Well if they want to replicate our designs then let them, just give them things that benefit everyone, something that blocks simurgh screams, a medicine to bring some weight off panacea, etc. Then, while doing that we make things for personal use, an anti-thinker/precog device is a must and if they ask about it we can just say we don't want to become Sphere 2: Even Worse Edition.

The room was, if it could be described with one word, tense. All the wards had come, and this included some who were supposed to be off. The very same could be applied towards the Adult heroes, who had sat in perpetual silence. In front of them was Miss Militia and Assault, who both looked anxious.

"Alright everyone, I thank you for coming on such short notice. I'll let Miss Militia handle most of the talking, but if you have any questions ask me."

"Thank you, Assault. For those who don't know, Aigis has been demoted from the Warden's leader. This was due to him breaking several rules."

Kid Win had awkwardly placed his hand up.

"What is it, Kid Win?"

"Uhm... can you tell us what rules he broke exactly?"

The duo looked at each over with an expression of uncertainty.

"I'm afraid not, but let's just say it was something serious. Regardless, you won't see him for the next few days, but rest assured he's still a member of the Wardens."

The rest of the child heroes seemed to relax, the worst case scenario was avoided.

"There's more, Armsmaster has been demoted as well, starting now he's just a regular Protectorate hero. A replacement will be decided soon after we've vetted candidates, For both The Wardens and Main Protectorate branch."

Dauntless let out a smirk, he knew, that they would be looking at him.

"Continuing on, I'd like to ask everyone here to not pester the two I've named about the details, for varying reasons. It's currently on a need to know basis, and we'd like to keep it that way."

"Any remaining questions?"

After a short silence, Miss Militia finally spoke out

"Very well, meeting dismissed."

The two groups finally left, occasionally murming on the way. After everyone left, the duo let out a sigh of relief.

"I'm not cut out for this kind of work, Hannah. Cleaning up other people's mess, it's stressful."

"I'd disagree. You did a good job throughout this whole incident. I'd go as far as to say you were the only person who did his job properly."

Ethan smiled bitterly. Throughout his career, he hadn't really been the person to be praised.

"Thanks... I hope Piggot doesn't try to make me the leader, give it to Dauntless. At least the guy actually wants it. Plus, you work well with him, don't you? I get the feeling me and you would just argue a lot."

"Perhaps, but I think leaders should argue with each over. We all make errors of judgment, and this entire mess has shown that perfectly."

The PRT have the right to "take" our tech (it makes no mention of copyright-style ownership here (>>3285458), presumably they just mean they can take away a cancer ray or mini-nuke so our designs should remain ours in the sense they won't monetise them) but they'll only use that fact if it matters or they can make use of it.

Therefore, so long as our technology is entirely conventional but efficient or essentially stuff they have then they will most likely leave us alone. At most, a cursory look to remove any stuff they don't like.

Honestly, just stick with the stuff we have for active work and maybe look into bio-enhancements. Make them deeply tied to our own body (which you'd want to anyway to ensure they take well) and they'll struggle to replicate them for others. It also gets round our current weakness to sneak attacks.

Also clearly we should just develop really advanced guns. They don't use them much so that'd limit their benefit if they had access to any of them or their designs. Clearly developing a recoil-compensated bull-pup 7.92×57mm rifle to wield is our future path.
>>
>>3295236
Anything good we make is gonna be design stolen by an AI.
We should make our own AI to tell Dragon to fuck off.
>>
>>3295236
So... cybernetics time?
>>
>>3295259
Possibly but we'll deal with that as we come to it.

>>3295283
Nope, cybernetics are too easily attached to others and I swear there was a reason they were bad in-universe that I can't remember. I'm talking more so super soldier serums and gene-seed super organs to make our body a superior human.
>>
>>3295293
>Gene-seed super organs
This I can also get behind
>>
>>3295236
>>3295293
These.

Our biggest problem is that they know what we're gonna make ahead of time because muh Thinker and as soon as we do make it, they'll confiscate it, right? So all we need to do is make something that can't be confiscated.

Make a serum of something and chug it as soon as it's reasonable. Build some shit that would ingrain itself into the body and immediately stick it on ourselves.

The major downside to these that we won't get a lot of opportunity to upgrade, which is kind of our whole shtick, but still. The idea is to loophole the fuck out of this system. Even if they predict that we're making stuff they can't take away, what are they gonna do? "No, don't make that"? The best they could likely do is just prevent us from Tinkering altogether, but then we'd just get to dick around till our probation is over and we get free reign again.

If we play our cards right, we should be able to back them into a corner.
>>
>>3295305
Implanted anti-thinker device would be very useful for this.
>>
>>3295305
Well, it’ll give us time to get some GAINZ, cqc and firearms training, and maybe read up on chemistry and biology to give us better results when making tinkers to use on our selves.
>>
>>3295305
What if they decide to go in surgically to forcefully remove stuff?
>>
>>3295594
Document it and use it as a breach of contract to escape slavery from PRT.
>>
>>3295598
How can it be a breach when they can decide to own anything me make at their discretion.

We shouldn't escape right away. They probably have experience with guys trying that. We ought to play it chill for a while to lower their guard, and plan our escape after our first few paychecks.
>>
>>3295623
I mean, if the design is a part of you I’d imagine that maybe that is an exception. Like if a “recruited” tinker hypothetically uploaded their brain into a hyper-advanced computer and put it in their meat shell, I doubt the (((PRT))) would be allowed to just take it.
>>
>>3295629
I hope no one is assuming they'd stick rigily to their own rules, especially after what they've done to capture us, and when they see us tying to bend or circumvent their rules. They maybe be stupid in some aspects but they are not THAT stupid.
>>
>>3295594
They'd struggle to eliminate a cell-level gene-mod so shit like enhanced strength, regeneration, reactions and resilience won't be taken without a series of extremely invasive procedures. They could remove organs but if we have decent regen then they'll grow back so long as it isn't our heart or something immediately vital.

Also like >>3295598 says, I'd love to see them find a doctor willing to perform surgery on a unwilling subject (that isn't a mental patient or in a critical condition). Even assuming they did, this goes past the point of containing a potential threat and into the range of just being pricks.

>>3295623
Nowhere does it say that in the deal we signed anon, they can take equipment from us but they'd struggle to justify removing our newly acquired super powers when we are only here to be a super under their control.
>>
>>3295644
>>3285458
>they reserve the right to give or take away any gear you've made.

Anything we make, giving ourselves powers is probably some bs that won't fly. Odds are they will stop us before we finish the project and demand an explanation or hand it over to their guys.

They may take the equipment to give super powers from us and that would be very bad if that fell into anybodies hands.

Also, being a tinkerer who can give others powers would put us on top of a very wanted list by everyone that we DO NOT WANT TO BE ON!

I think we should just study, learn, and build up our body during this time.
>>
>>3295684
One thing we should do is build a way to trick their thinkers and surveillance. 2 years is a LONG time to be under their thumb. We keep our noses down and play good boy for a while, and while we’re pretending to work on useless stuff for the PRT we work on countermeasures.
>>
>>3295594
>>3295644
Yeah, shit that's directly in our genes/cells/blood or whatever won't come out anytime soon.
>inb4 they tell Panacea to purge our body
>>3295684
Again, the major drawback is that we won't ever get a chance to upgrade anything, or make blueprints for that matter. If we want to keep our Tinkertech away from the ((((((PRT)))))), we're gonna have to throw caution to the wind and start making metric fucktons of Tier 1 garbage to use on ourselves.
>>
>>3295684
I would point out anon that we can leave the ENE headquarters, we just can't do it without being on duty or without an escort. This means we could in theory find a abandoned structure to start accumulating scrap and equipment into, to enable us to create a backup plan or something we don't want them finding.

I know what you are going to say, what about the escort or the fact we'd be on duty. Well in the case of the escort we just need to find someone who is willing to support our efforts where as in the case of pulling it off on-duty would mostly involve confusing their tracking of us long enough for us to work. Of the two, duty is easier in theory but in practice could be riskier since they'd almost certainly expect us to try something when we have access to our gear.

At the very least, it should be entirely possible to find a bit of quiet time out on patrol or whatever to draw out our blueprints before hiding them around the city for collection later.

>>3295697
Honestly if we can disappear from their tracking net for 5 minutes while we dump our gear and run, given the fact we aren't high-profile yet, we might manage to escape into the background. Only issue is that at that point we'd probably need to leave the city before they inevitably find us as this time coming with them wouldn't be an option.

>>3295728
>inb4 they tell Panacea to purge our body
If you identified the issue as the gene-modifications, if there was enough of them, that would kill the person by causing complete organ failure. This is assuming it wouldn't just melt away the altered cells entirely or something.

>If we want to keep our Tinkertech away from the ((((((PRT)))))), we're gonna have to throw caution to the wind and start making metric fucktons of Tier 1 garbage to use on ourselves.
A Mossberg starts out as a low tier 2. We can go about that high before we really even exit the region of fairly civilian human tech and into tier 2 high for cutting-edge mil-tech.

That or we just keep using all of our current shit (which was good enough by itself to let us beat some fairly strong heroes) seeing as our non-lethal options would be pretty variable and the PRT have had the chance to study all of it.
>>
>>3293764
>they replicate our shit
I'd like to see some evidence that that's even possible. I've never heard of it being done, the point of tinkers is that they make tech that can't be made by others, through magic superpower bullshit.
