Shocking news from the Sunset Imperium, Admiral Yolotli of the Dragon with support of the Elder Dragon Xolotl and several of his younger kin has launched a coup against the Dragon King. Fighting has broken out in almost every province as the Admiral has promised a reform of the caste system and a new central system of government to fix the corruption rife within the state. With this the province of Quauhtli has proclaimed itself as an independent Princedom. At the same time the Jaguar Enclave has sent out a desperate plea for help saying that a huge horde of Beastmen is attempting to breach their fort and make their way to the Ocean.

With the reclamation of the islands of Gotti and Copal the Wine-Dark Imperium is once again rebirthed at the hand of Empress Lilith, while these islands have been decimated your population is finally reaching its previous heights!

Currently we function off a militia system with all men of age being required to train often in combat and participate in grand games of Waterball along with naval practice! A standing army of 3,000 is employed during peacetime that also doubles as a guard force alongside a dedicated force of 6,00 marines who focus on sailing and naval combat.

At the Temple of Galoris in Loslina a meeting has happened between the High Priest of the Protectorate and the Stormseer. They emerged from this meeting several days later having signed a document called the Concord of Loslina. The Protectorate has agreed to respect the Stormseer and in return have their High Priest accepted into the Inner Circle and have now accepted the royal family as the true chosen of Galoris however they still push that a constitutional monarchy supported by a senate is the only way to govern and thus will not unite. With this a pact has also been signed with both parties agreeing to fight against the terrors of the Everwood.

With this new found “friendship” the Proctorate has sent over the designs for the ballista allowing you to produce your own copies of this fearsome weapon.

On the eve of the new century one hundred sinners are cast off the cliff into the dark waters below. Your prayers for prophecy are answered with a brilliant light show that lasts long into the night. The Stormseer emerges from the temple the next day to speak to all the translated prophecy of Galoris.

“You have done well my children but darkness lies just beyond the horizon. To the south the bastard sons of Erulia raise a banner of war, to the north the King of Iron builds a great fleet determined to become the master of all he surveys, to the east the Golden Dragon battles against the Iceborn Terrors and lastly to the west a true dragon rises from amongst the decadent wastrels.”

Along with this message a startling amount of twins have been born on Loslina with near every pregnancy resulting in two children! This has caused a massive baby boom within the city and is surely to ripple out across the Empire!

In other news the excavation on Teris has been finish with a large item being transported to the cliff during the dead of night. Five hundred volunteers have also been sent to help the Jaguar enclave with their invasion.

It is a sad year in Loslina as the patriarch of the royal family Zeke Seastorm has passed away, with Lilith being unmarried this leaves the bloodline without a true patriarch for the first time in many generations! However this does not dissuade the the common folk who are busy rebuilding Copal and Gotti in anticipation of the new surge of people caused by the baby boom in Loslina.

In other news traders from the far north have begun to show up in the Wine-Dark sea, these tall pale men are master traders and sailors speaking of their new settlements on the Dragon’s Graveyard.

Several trainers are hired from the Protectorate to drill your men in their style of fighting along with new rigours discipline styles that help forge men into one single unit that never breaks nor wavers. While the techniques and armaments of the Protectorate aren’t completely adopted your men at least know the best way to adapt their current tactics to deal with them.

In other news Queen Lilith been disposed of with the Stormseer selecting the son of Samudh Longtooth and Princess Tiamat Shem to become the next Emperor of the Wine-Dark Sea! The Stormseer says this was the direct will of Galoris but many of the other priests speak openly that there were no lights from Galoris that said such a thing and many of the common folk who quite liked Lilith have begun to mutter about the power of the church and the corruption of the will of Galoris.

Other dark news has reached your shores the Jagaur Enclave has been completely broken by the Beastman horde with a fleet of refugees arriving at Loslina seeking shelter and to become apart of your Empire.

Being born with a lamed leg and poor constitution Carr Carreg was never able to follow the family’s masonry traditions though he helped where he could and eventually was sketching out and planning most of the family’s contracts by the time his brothers were foreman, Thus he was trusted with crude sketches of a strange building, quickly putting together where the water wheels went and why the building had that strange staircase shape too it. After days of study he just had to know the exact ideas and methods that went into its construction and threw himself just as hard into drawing out different variations and obvious after the fact dumb ideas until he hit a wall and knew he’d need more than what just his family could provide so he went to the Queen with a proposal!

After a daring expedition and a request to the late queen for funding the Carregs lead by Carr have started to build a massive factory! After finding a suitable spot on the Loslina River and clearing rather large area to begin with though smaller than the ruins they were inspired by with only a 11 water wheels planned and not 16. As the days wore into weeks and the huge stone slabs for the foundation being hauled in and pile drivers working to set up a masonry redirect for the some river’s water so the factory could be free standing and not have to worry over a flooding river or erosion of the foundations much, Carr was delighted to watch his, no, his family’s newest legacy coming to fruition. The water wheels on his design would differ by running through the center of the structure instead of to the sides of such a massive building the ‘water way’ being roughly 30 feet across and runs off of the final water wheels into more stonework that guides it back to the river, and instead of a center staircase there will be scaffolding(with safety rails) and staircases on the side of the building, Since the original sketch lacked any true measurements Carr figured an offset of about 20 feet for each level would be enough. Another deviation from the original was that he planned only 5 water wheels on the left side but each workshop being much larger at 120 ft by 72 ft intending them to be for projects that require elbow room and on site storage space with the right side having half a dozen workshops at 90 ft by 60 ft figuring Millers or others that have a large amount of unprocessed material coming in and finished product leaving.

Assets:
Families of Carpenters/Craftsmen/Masons
Their houses and a couple workshops on the outskirts of the Capital
Moderate stockpile of carpentry/crafting tools and materials
A few stray Spears
‘The Tip’s” Town
Lordship of “The Tip”
A few Handfuls of Dragon Scales

Runes are a strange thing, often ignored even beyond normal magic. The mercenary company is small numbering only a hundred men but it has managed to turn a tidy profit by taking over the protection of the Eastern trading root against the rampant fishman attacks. The Quadrireme is the natural evolution in design after the Trireme. With your mastery of shipbuilding an some help from the Champion of Yeshu you have truly improved on the designs once stolen from the Sunset Imperium. These new ships have an extra level of oars bringing them up to 4 increasing both their speed, maneuverability and how much they can carry. These Quadrireme can also carry up to 75 marines making them extremely dangerous in battle.

You increase your knowledge of weave magic by implementing Shadow Magic which can only be gained by ingesting amethysts from Copal.

Shadow + Fire = Oblivion
Shadow + Water = Corruption
Shadow + Air = Disease
Shadow + Earth = Desecration

The factory on the river is truly a marvel of technology, not since the days of Erulia had such mastery of water been seen. The power of the water wheel has lead to the development of the trip hammer which has innumerable uses from the pounding of grain to the pounding of iron in tools. The huge complex can churn out truly massive amount of whatever purpose it is set to! Within several months of completion letters have begun to pour in from across the Wine-Dark Sea seeking your families services in building water mills of all types for them!

Smithing is at the core of your religious belief with the profession of the First King being truly blessed. By supporting new smiths and other artisans you are seeing a large rise in what some are calling the "middle class", people of considerable means who are not of the noble familes but instead are of the trades. This has lead to more wealth in the Kingdom and even more prosperity! The poor are happy as always with your handouts though you worry that layabouts from other nations are coming to your empire for free aid.

While those who traveled to the far east never return life goes on without them in the Wine-Dark Sea. The most startling turn of events is that Dissus, the God of Honour has declared his fealty to Galoris becoming her servant. Galoris has made a large announcement in this manner, she is the only true god and all others who claim to be gods are mere spirits of varying power, those who bow before her shall be accepted as her servants and not be enslaved.

This has caused an uproar in the Samir Republic causing the more conservative islands to declare independence from the central government as the Olamir Republic focusing on the worship of Ifit.

In other news there have been rumours of a dragon being sighted around Gotti.

K has been chosen! How shall we seek to improve the magic capabilities of our nation! At the moment all mages must join the Royal Mage Academy and spend several years in service of the Crown. Our spell-casting is primitive focused around simply using the raw elements with some minor knowledge of weave magic. The Order of Warlocks is created by the council to begin training mages truly for war and to have them work on the art of combat weaving. While complex weaves are hard to pull off at high speeds the ability to heal massive wounds, rip apart formations, strengthen men and defend against other magics is hugely valuable. Life magic appears to not be able to be part of a weave as it simply absorbs other magics strengthening itself.

Another interesting fact is with the new refugees from the Jaguar Enclave they have begun to add their knowledge to yours. They tell you of points of power, places in the world where wellsprings of mana push forth from the depths of the world. The most powerful of mages can tap into them for truly godlike power. They also share the art of Soul Reinforcement, by diffusing the natural mana in mans body through the use of a bloodroot herb he can remove the outermost layers of his soul causing it to grow back stronger.

Fortifications are raised on Hasword, Gotti and Copal. Great stone structures built with the intention of costing anyone who attempts to assail them. This build up of fortifications however has done little to ease the minds of people as everyone can feel a war coming and with faith in the monarchy at an all time low the future looks darks. However around the Empire the waterwheel and trip hammer have begun to quickly spreading increasing the productivity of nearly every single sector of the economy!

In other news the talks between Samir and the Protectorate are going well with the few staunch monarchist within the population saying we must do something to stop them.

Offer to help Samir build up fortifications along the everwood border as we have the resources to support it and it is in all of our interests,
>>
>>3294051
We can integrate a localized senate for regions that fall under in the hierarchy of the empire. They will have free reign in domestic affairs and support from the emperor.

We will offer fortifications against the everwood and new trade flowing to samir. A greater age is upon us and we will utilize the best of the republican government style to supplement our own.

It has been decided that in exchange for special status as a province within the Empire that Samir will join the Wine-Dark Empire but retain it’s Senate instead of having a lord. The legions of Samir have sworn loyalty to the Emperor alongside the Senate. The Protectorate is not happy about this but has made no moves against you.

Ten of the newly invented quadriremes are constructed for use by the royal navy which has grown to an absurd size after absorbing Samir. The newly named Lord of Copal has also come forward offering for a decent reward to outfit the navy with Fire-Throwers a specialty of the Jaguar Enclave.

On the border of the Everwood a construction project of titanic proportions is underway, never since the days of old Erulia has a project of this size been attempted. A wall will be constructed from the Great River to the Wine-Dark Sea completely protecting the heartland of Samir from the horrors beyond. This project will take many years to complete but will stand as a testament to the military and economic might of the Wine-Dark Empire.

You also build Samir a nice sea wall which allows people to stroll along the coast and protects against the erosion of the beaches.

The people of Samir are fairly disappointed when you build them a set of port walls as they were hoping for something more leisure based like the sea walls. However these firm walls are sure to protect the vulnerable port from any future invasions.

In Samir, Neas Hope and Loslina grand public baths are built by the government to encourage unity, cleanliness and to give back to the people. Each of these massive baths will be adorned with marvelous marble statues and carvings from the most talented artisans of the Wine-Dark Sea. In Neas Hope the bath stands as a marvel to the common folk there and is full of luxuries they would had never even dreamed would be within their grasps. Not to mention each bath draws in large amounts of visitors from outside the cities and many are beginning to say maybe the boy king isn’t that bad.

In other news a small dragon by the name of Achcauhtli has arrived in Loslina, this dragon claims to be an envoy from the Sunset Imperium and has come to beg for our aid against Agaron the Soulstealer who has launched a massive invasion of the Imperium and threatens to completely overwhelm them.

They accept these demands with fervor, they hope by using your navy to attack Agarons rear you can take some pressure off the front and allow the Sunset Imperium to organize. How many ships and men will you send? Along with what special assets will you send?

Trireme = 200 men
Quadrireme = 400 men

The Princedom of Quauhhtli has agreed to send 80 Triremes and has probably made equally as ridiculous demands.

What is your plan for this war and who will be placed as the Overlord?

>>
>>3294489
I nominate myself as Overlord for this conflict.

Given the only knowledge we have now is that the beastmen navy operates from the former jaguar enclave/Farlight to attack the Sunset Imperium, we should launch a strike there. It will cripple their ability to wage war on the sea and hopefullh divert their attention from the Sunset Imperium proper, giving our allies time to organize more efficiently.

You find a dagger with the name Carlos Marcela on it in old Erulian

>>3294901
You find a scroll which contains a secret Lightwatcher recipe for spaghetti, this strange food was only ever made by the Armenos but now it is in your hands!

>>3294906
You snoop around the dead bodies and find something odd about these Beastmen, they do not share the same runes as the ones you find in the Everwood. Instead inside their skulls is a single crude marking that you believe means Agaron!

Along with that you find a strange curved blade which pulsates with the power of light!

This will be the end of the session for today! I shall see you all next sunday when we continue this WAR!
